I'm writing this review in hopes that it can serve as constructive criticism for what was once a favorite restaurant. We came for dinner and ordered the fried pickles, linguine alfredo with grilled chicken and the burger (added chili on the side). The pickle chips were good, I do recommend these. They weren't as crispy as they used to be but the flavors were there. The linguine alfredo could use some work. The pasted was passed al dente, I would cook 1-2 min less. The alfredo sauce should also not have basil in it, as it messes with the flavor profile of what an alfredo should be. Overall, it lacked the garlic flavor and definitely needed salt. (More on this later). The grilled chicken was very chewy, as it in was gummy enough to stick to your teeth. I believe this to be a quality issue of a chicken that was likely injected with lots of growth hormones, as it was neither over nor undercooked. It also lacked any sort of flavor, please please please season you meats before cooking them (salt and pepper, don't be afraid!). The burger had the same issue. Overall it was cooked well but really lacked any sort of flavor. The patty should always be seasoned before grilling. The rest of the ingredients were fresh but unfortunately the lack of salt resulted in lack of flavor. The fries were good. We also ordered chili on the side and it also lacked flavor. All of the ingredients were there, but it needed more seasoning. I understand the namesake of The Fat Cat and it being indicative of its massive portions, I just hope that they can focus more on quality rather than size and come back to being the great restaurant that it used to be.
