"People line up for an hour or more to snag a seat at this small restaurant for lunch, but they’ll do the same for a slice of cake or bread. The highlight of the bakery case is the wedding cake, combining layers of yellow cake and strawberries with cream cheese frosting and shaved white chocolate for a sweet and tart treat that’s balanced and not overly sweet. For those short on time, the restaurant offers online ordering with a separate pickup area to avoid long waits for something sweet." - Megan duBois

"One of the most popular fast-casuals in town is the French Pantry. The restaurant can be hard to find in a neighborhood filled with warehouses and small shops, but diners can often spot it easily from the line snaking out of the front door. The menu here is filled with sandwiches, salads, and bruschetta, which can easily be shared among two people. But the real highlight of going to the French Pantry is gazing into the pastry case to pick a slice of cake or a baked cookie." - Megan duBois

"Upon entering the French Pantry, guests are immediately captivated by its old-world French charm. Known for its sandwiches and bruschetta, the restaurant boasts a wide range of unique ingredient combinations. The Reuben sandwich, often hailed as the best in town, features hot pastrami, melted Swiss cheese, 1000 Island dressing, and tangy sauerkraut. As patrons queue to order, they are greeted by a display of homemade cakes and desserts, with the wedding cake adorned with white frosting and strawberries standing out as a crowd favorite. Despite potential lines out the door, the efficient service ensures a swift wait, promising a dining experience worth the patience." - Megan duBois

"A Jacksonville staple is the French Pantry, where people line up for an hour or more sometimes to get a seat to chow down on sandwiches and baked goods. The restaurant serves hot and cold sandwiches with toppings all piled onto house-made bread. The hot Reuben, which has all the traditional toppings on perfectly toasted rye bread, is a favorite. Of course, there’s also a roast beef sandwich, but at the French Pantry, the sandwich also has Boursin cheese adding a creamy and slightly garlicky flavor to each bite." - Megan duBois

I was so excited to bring the Ambassadors to this location as we conclude our learning experience about French culture and unfortunately they will not discover how an allegiance was formed that created a lifelong comrade between France and America on this trip. I was delighted that the food quality remains great but the standard of service especially the blond employee with the blue shirt was anything but cordial and really was disappointing. Anyhow, this remains the best bread, sandwiches and salad experience despite the off personality and maybe that will improve before our next visit.

No matter when you go, there is always a line out the door! The French Pantry is definitely a Jacksonville must-try. The portions are generous, the table bread is delicious, and the desserts are amazing! There is a large menu to choose from, and it's hard to go wrong. I definitely recommend any of their bruschettas and their blueberry cheese tart. The service is also wonderful, and the food does not take long to arrive after being ordered. Highly recommend!

Google
Very busy place. The food was outstanding ! The service was outstanding ! Everything on the menu sounded amazing. Fresh everything. This place is a hidden gem 💎 the carrot cake and tea cookies were fresh and made to perfection as well. They didn’t make the pictures because we took them to go. Cesar salad was wet and moist ! Don’t walk, y’all better run it was amazing.

Google
Always hits the mark. A local legend for a reason! The menu of sandwiches, salads, paninis, and bruschetta are dependable delights, but don’t forget to check the daily specials board! The cakes and pastries are top tier. Do yourself a favor and at least take a slice to go if you don’t have some there. Some of the very best cakes in Jax!

Google
I got the Turkey and Swiss cheese sandwich. It was delicious and very filling. Before my sandwich was delivered to my table, a server dropped off some bread and dipping oil and herbs. It was also delicious. The smell of the freshly baked bread is divine. I will definitely be back to get some bread to take home.

Google
We had the best first time! The service was incredible (our delicious drinks were on the table before we had a chance to sit down). All of the food was rich and just melted in my mouth. The fresh bread was such a dream and I can't wait to explore the rest of the menu. Cookies are top tier. If you want great food and a great experience, this is the spot.

Absolutely love this place! Indoor and outdoor seating, healthy food choices, amazing desserts!

Google
This is such a cool restaurant! Located in an industrial area, it's a Parisian oasis in Jacksonville. They make and sell their breads, and their sandwiches are insanely good. I got the muffeletta, it was bursting with meat that was tender, fatty and crispy all at the same time. I was full for the entire day. The atmosphere is old school French, you order at the counter and by the time you're finished ordering, they have your table set with drinks. You might have to share a table with others, just part of the charm. We got here for lunch before 11 am and the place was already half full. The staff are really nice, and it's very unpretentious. And so good!

Yelp
French pantry was well worth the wait that was lined up outside the door. Everything was so fresh and delicious! The dining room was intimate and cozy. The chicken panini had bite sized chicken chunks and was toasted to perfection. We also had a slice of wedding cake which we are now having at our wedding because it's that good. It's light and not overly sweet. Make sure to take home the French pesto rolls - the cream cheese surprise in the middle is my fave. Make sure to toast it!!! Everything was 10/10, as always.

Yelp
If this is your first time visiting, then don't be surprised if you drive right by it. At first glance it just appears to be part of a warehouse and there is no outside sign. But it's nothing that a quick u-turn and closer inspection can't solve. The employees gave us a friendly greeting upon entering. Ordering is at the counter with menu items posted on a chalk board along with a hard copy menu at the counter. We ordered our lunch along with some pastry snacks for later. I ordered their Reuben sandwich along with a 1/2 Caesar salad side, and ice tea to drink. Bread and olive oil are complimentary, and was delicious! Entrees didn't take long to arrive. My Reuben came out steaming hot on marbled rye toast with thousand island, Swiss, and sauerkraut ($16.00). It was one of the best Reuben sandwiches I've ever had! The 1/2 Caesar salad was crisp, fresh, and the freshly grated cheese made it amazing ($6.50). For a later snack I ordered their Blueberry Farmers Tart. So here's the deal, the lunch menu is very good, but if nothing else, you need to try their pastries! On the "Wow Scale" of deliciousness, my Blueberry Farmers Tart was a 9.9 out of 10 (and I never give out 10's)! It hit the pocketbook for $8.50 - but worth it. There are so many good things going on here and all of it revolving around delicious food and excellent service! Check this place out! Come early! They're open: Monday - Saturday, 10:30 -2:00pm Sunday, Closed

Yelp
The French Pantry is always a guilty pleasure for me, as it's a bit of a drive, but always worth the trek there! It's a small bakery/restaurant that serves the freshest ingredients that are used to make the best food, deserts, and breads. I had the special of the day which was a Mahi-Mahi sandwich with a side of fries. They also bring you a plate of their fresh-baked bread with a saucer of olive oil, herbs, and balsamic vinegar as a dipping option (my favorite part) for the table. I also had ordered a slice of the 'yum-yum' cake, which is a chocolate cake that comes with raspberry compote on the side and is always so moist and decadent without being overly rich. I also got the carrot cake, wedding cake, and pumpkin cheesecake to-go, so I could share with loved ones. While, I didn't eat those everyone confirmed they were delightful as well! If you decide to go expect limited parking and a wait as the hours are restricted, but I think it's totally worth it!

Eralene M.

Yelp
The food is amazing here! The only thing that gets tough is that the long can get long since it's a small place. You can't reserve seats until you order.... I tried to save a seat while someone stays in the order and they kicked me out of a seat saying I didn't have an order number. So be prepared to wait!

Kalvin K.

Yelp
This has been on my list for while. My classmate told me about how good this spot is and she was right. The food here is good - an American and French fusion spot. I had a roast beef sandwich that was delicious. There is fresh bread for all guests. Be aware that the restaurant is quite popular and there will be a wait, especially on weekends.

Erica C.

Yelp
Ordered take out and had quick service, added some tomato and mozzarella focaccia as well. Smells amazing inside- tons of fresh breads, pastries, and desserts. Greeted promptly, with exceptional service. Cute tables and setup. Ordered the chicken and artichoke bruschetta. It was ridiculously good, even after a short drive home. Crispy bread with a soft center, tender chicken and artichokes- not touch at all, with goat cheese and marinated tomatoes. Spring salad with dressing on the side. Extra roll added. Tons of food- especially for lunch. Shared and still super filling. Ordered the wedding cake for dessert this evening to enjoy, with extra strawberry sauce. Lines get long early, so prepare accordingly or order take out online. Will be back!

Katia P.

Yelp
My aunt loooovvveeessss the German chocolate cake. I ordered online and it was very quick!

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
All the locals know this is the lunch place! Delicious sandwiches, excellent desserts - always get the wedding cake, great salads, iced tea and bread!!! Get there early because there is always a line. Tried and true this is definitely a Jacksonville treasure.

Bryan B.

Yelp
The food was pretty good, waaaay too much bread on everything. It's carb city so if you like that go get it. Was hoping for a better execution on the dishes we had. Would go again and try several different items and upgrade the review if warranted. Not bad at all though.

Eric R.

Yelp
Relatively small location with an impressive menu. Been here a few times, each one has been a similar experience. Be ready to get in line, be ready for the potential to share a table with some strangers and be ready for an overall great experience. Everyone I've interacted with is super friendly, menu has a large variety of everything from appetizers to desserts.

Melanie R.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Do not pass up the chance to eat here. The Quiche was one of the best I've ever eaten. Also, the chicken salad on a croissant was fresh & also delish. We got several desserts to go & I'm sure those will taste great as well!

Joe M.

Yelp
In a very unassuming building, in a not so savory part of town, you can find this gem of European-influenced cooking. The menu has hot sandwiches, various fresh bruschetta, and well made desserts. I enjoyed the fresh bread with herbs and oil to begin with and then the Kobe Burger. Service was quick and friendly. Finished off with a strawberry wedding cake slice and overall would return here in heartbeat. Do not let the part of town discourage your trip. The food is great and you can tell had a home made touch. Will return!

Yelp
Food: 5/5, Value: 4/5, Ambience: 4/5 Best Lunch Spot in Jacksonville! This has been my favorite lunch spot in Jacksonville for many years. My favorite is the spinach, bacon, and fontina bruschetta which has 4 pieces of bruschetta on fresh baked French bread loaded with fontina cheese and thick cut bacon served with bruschetta tomatoes on top of a salad. Close tie for my favorite is the pastrami sandwich which is loaded with tender and flavorful pastrami that rivals sandwiches that I have had in New York! Had their ham and cheese quiche recently as well which was packed with cheese and ham with a flaky buttery crust. They always have complementary fresh baked bread to start off the meal with an addicting oil/vinegar dipping sauce. Overall one of my must visits when I come back to visit Jacksonville!

Andy L.

Yelp
Exceptional. Stand in line outside and ponder what you want to eat for lunch. Wait isn't long to order and I recommend adding desserts (cakes or cookies). Asked if you'd like to sit inside or under small covered patio outside. Food came quickly and was delicious. Cold items came cold, hot items were hot. All staff were helpful. Note you may be asked to share a table to maximize seating.

Laura A.

Yelp
This place is always very busy but they do a good job of keeping up with the crowds. You order at the counter and they give you a number and tell you were to sit. You may be sharing a table with other people. We opted to sit outside and had a table to ourselves. They bring you a basket of bread and bowl of oil, vinegar and herbs to dip. The bread is EXCELLENT and this was a nice surprise. We all enjoyed our sandwiches. I got the muffuletta, my son the Italian and my husband got the ham and Swiss. The sandwiches are large and I could only eat half. I brought the rest home to eat the next day but the bottom was pretty soggy by then. It was actually a little soggy even on the day I ordered it but it tasted delicious. Overall this is a great place and I reduced to 4 stars because it's very expensive for a lunch place. Our 3 sandwiches, one cookie and two ice teas came to over $60. I think that's too much for lunch even though the servings are generous and the food good.

Kelly T.

Yelp
I had heard a lot of good things about this restaurant, so when I was going to be near it today, I figured I would check it out. I'm very glad I did. I arrived early so there was only one customer ahead of me when I arrived. They have about ten different sandwiches, which all sounded great. They also have salads and desserts. I ordered a hot Italian sub. It was a good size and tasted great. The sandwich was both warm and spicy. It had banana peppers, mustard, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and plenty of meat. It was very filling. I also loved the complimentary bread and dipping oil that everyone receives. It was a very nice touch.

Pat P.

Yelp
After a bit of difficulty finding this place we were happy we finally did.. It does look as if it's part of a warehouse or industrial plant as someone mentioned. There was a bit of a line as there is lots of take-out being made as well as food for those who choose to sit down. Wait staff was very polite and helpful. The servings would be enough for two with a side. I had the shrimp/artichoke bruschetta which came with a large serving of salad. My husband had the hot Italian. Both were delicious and needed a box for us to take home what we couldn't finish. This was a first-time visit for us after shopping at Field Fresh Farms. We will definitely return.

Yelp
French Pantry has always been that extra special treat for me. It's kinda out there in Jax, off the beaten path, the hours can be tricky for the normal 9-5er, and of course, the hype of it all. This place is so popular that there is always a line when waiting to place your lunch order. Is this a bad thing? Heck no. This just goes to show the outstanding reputation French Pantry has. Yesterday was a treat eating here. After a few failed attempts to plan to grab lunch here with a fellow foodie friend, (failed attempts fall on me) we finally made it! Originally we had planned to visit in February for a birthday lunch. Of course now that half of April is over, we damn near made it ; ) lol Here's my advice as a returning or future customer: Pull up their online menu on your phone while waiting in line. Their website has pictures for each staple menu item - yesss, pictures y'all - We like food porn. Once you make it inside, check their specials board. If you thought you knew what you wanted to order, haha, think again. Now you have an A choice and a B choice, just in case something happens between now and when you make it to the cashier - you are fully prepared. Okay secondly, Over order, yes you heard that right, order way too much food. Get a bruschetta for you & the table, hell maybe a couple depending on how big your party is, order a sandwich or burger (their burgers are good if you were questioning those) and of course, get a dessert! You Have to order a fresh baked dessert! If you thought bb's, cinotti's, etc was the tits when it comes to desserts, we are about to change your entire way of thinking, with one single dessert from French Pantry. The wedding cake and cheese tart are my two favorites (the cheese dessert is kinda like cheesecake but more firm, less sugary, shaved white chocolate comes on top, and honestly it's Way better than normal cheesecake). The strawberry sauce for the wedding cake is what really seals the deal for that one. If you truly appreciate a fresh strawberry puree, order extra like me. It's heavenly. If it was sanitary to bathe in this sauce, I would. Elaine ordered the chicken and artichoke bruschetta seen in the pictures here, I ordered the special which was the pork bahn mi sandwich, Elaine also ordered chocolate chip cookies to go (not pictured but we did try one just to make sure it wasn't poisoned when she shares later with her husband - sharing is caring) and of course, the wedding cake slice with extra strawberry sauce on the side. The only mistake I made was not wearing stretchy pants to lunch yesterday. This is a weird flex but something I feel like I need to mention ~ The to go boxes here - let's get a round of applause to those small businesses who choose to invest in a quality, non styrofoam to go boxes. Thank you French pantry. They have quality non styrofoam to go boxes that keep your food fresh, non soggy, for those leftovers you are definitely eating the next day. Plus, I mean we did visit on French pantry on earth day - they are much more eco friendly than the red headed step child styrofoam ones. Thank you FP for thinking of these small details that actually mean so much later! I've always appreciated that this restaurant group takes time to reply to reviews - good or bad. I think it displays premium hospitality at its finest and something all businesses should do. It's that extra detail that shows they care about their customers. It's a rarity that a lot of small businesses do not do, and something so easy that would really help the small business at hand if they started doing this. Okay one more thing bc hot damn this is a novel. The staff. You will not find a better staff than the mellow mushroom extended family right here. From management to kitchen staff, to front of the house employees, everyone is so friendly, so accommodating. They will remember you even if you have only come in one time, and greet you with a big smile welcoming you back. This is always such a nice surprise when visiting. I love seeing familiar faces, and catching up with old coworkers. They really are the best. A great way to show your appreciation for the amount of love that pours out of this small business is by leaving a gracious tip, writing a review, & sharing your food porn on social media. French Pantry deserves all of those. As always, thank you for making my day extra special! Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
I called on the Saturday before Christmas to see if by chance they had a full wedding cake available.. Laura responded she had one left. Yay! Now I had an excuse to drive over from the beach and get the cake and have that delicious bang bang shrimp poboy sandwich again! I called my son who loves French Pantry and while my daughter in law preferred take out, he was happy to meet me. We both had the bang bang shrimp poboy with fries, we ordered a French dip for my daughter in law to go and the prized wedding cake. On Christmas Day, we were all so happy to have the wedding cake along with other desserts, though this was the favorite. And don't forget to order the strawberry sauce on the side. I do wish they would include that with the purchase of a full cake. Just saying. Try this spot when you can and you won't be disappointed! Sandwiches, salads, paninis, desserts, and more.

Ayesha F.

Yelp
We showed up about 10:15 on a Saturday morning and the line was already forming (which is always a good sign). It had been at least a decade since I stopped by and while in the area I just had to have it. Service is always quick- order at the counter, get a seat and your food is brought right out. I split a house salad a muffuletta sandwich and a slice of wedding cake. Everything was so good! It's pretty tight inside so you wanna get there early so you don't have to wait long for a table.

Mark S.

Yelp
Great food usually pretty busy. The bread is always fresh. And beyond sucks, but I would kind of like sharing tables and talking to other people.

Jalene F.

Yelp
It's not in the most convenient part of town but it's well worth the drive. You'll want to be early as it's very very popular and you have to wait in line and place order before getting a table. It's a very good place for business lunch or for catching up with friends. The tables are all different and fairly close to one another but it's not too loud and you're eating delicious food so it's not too bothersome. The food is amazing and that's before we even discuss the bakery items. The bread is baked fresh and you'll want to buy a loaf or two to take home, the desserts are fabulous and while it's tough to choose, you will love whatever you get.

Rachel T.

Yelp
I really liked this place! When I first moved to Jax, several people told me this was their fav lunch place. Knowing the line is long and I usually don't have a lot of time in the middle of a weekday for lunch, I never made it here until recently. The line was short at 1 pm on a Thursday. They are only open until 2 pm! This parking lot is super rocky and was totally flooded when we left. I heard great things about the bang bang shrimp, so I was excited to try them. I went with the bang bang shrimp salad and it was huge! I do wish there were more vegetables in the salad than just red peppers. My friend got the ham and cheese quiche which looked amazing. We also ordered the bruschetta which I was surprised was $19. It was delicious, but overpriced in my opinion. The slice of wedding cake was good too! Super light and fluffy. I would go back and try the bang bang shrimp sandwich next time. Our server Ashley was awesome! Overall good experience and I will go back!

Jan B.

Yelp
We hadn't been for quite a bit. Our friends had never been so we thought we'd introduce them. Food - as always amazing. Had the Kobe burger with fries and the Rueben. Burger perfectly cooked and oh so juicy. Love the cranberry relish. Fries wonderfully crispy. Rueben - delicious pastrami and perfectly toasted rye. For those uninitiated the portions are huge. We took home half of each sandwich. Our son had the hot Italian sub - packed with meat and cheese on wonderful bread. Friends had the bang bang shrimp salad, shrimp poor boy and shrimp Bruschetta. The shrimp in the salad 5 or 6 - deep fried and huge. The bruschetta got a huge thumbs up. Poor boy was to go so no review on taste and didn't see as wrapped up. They have leftover boxes out so you can help yourself. Drinks. - selection of beer, wine of each color, soft drinks and water. Service fantastic. Our friends were ahead of us in line and bc they got the last 5 person table they pulled us to front of line as those in front of us had no tables to sit at. Got our food very quickly. Plenty of parking but the lot was virtually full by 12:30. They draw a large lunch crowd - always popular. The restaurant space is very basic inside. Used to have outdoor seating but assume with the heat and rain of recent - reason it wasn't set up. Lots of mismatched tables and chairs but comfortable.

Hazel K.

Yelp
Everyone knows that when you go to French Pantry you will not be disappointed. I have been here few times and I just wish that I can go here more often. Recently me and my friends went here to have early lunch. went here on a Saturday, they open at 10:30am we were there at 10:45am and they already have a line, thankfully it wasn't long yet and we maybe just waited for 10 minutes. the location of french pantry is very interesting there is no sign or anything it just looks like a big office space, parking is you make your own but there's plenty lol. just make sure you are here early or else you will be waiting for the line and a table. There's a lot of selection here from seafood to beef to sweets to burgers. I ordered the French dip and it was freaking amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also ordered the yum yum cake and it was good but my friend had the farmers cake and it was soooo good! This place is a staple in Jacksonville and we are so lucky to have this kind of place here. if you haven't been you are definitely missing out!

Yelp
I truly hate to make any type of complaint about this well-loved (and well-deserved) spot. But after spending almost $40 on lunch yesterday I felt I had to update my review. First - if you've never been here, there are no prices on the board. None. You have no idea before you get to the register and then you have to ask. That can be awkward for some I'm sure. Second - prices have gone up. Way, way up. You don't expect a "cheap" lunch here, but I just paid the same as if I had gone out for a steak dinner. Quite a shock when she gave me my total. Third - Although still delicious, my Cajun Shrimp Bruschetta (which is my go-to here) had 4 pieces of shrimp and 4, paper-thin, slices of andouille. This is not what I have had previously. You truly couldn't even taste the sausage it was sliced so thin. The salad was perfect as usual, with yummy tomatoes chopped on top. The taste was good, but just not the same without more "meat". Fourth - The desserts have gone up in price and definitely down in size. Now, mind you, they were huge pieces before, so a smaller piece still is quite satisfying, but again, when the price goes one way and the size goes another, it's annoying. Our server was working hard, but we didn't receive our drinks for quite some time. You have to share a table, which is fine, but again, when I"m paying those prices I truly don't expect to have to bump elbows with someone I don't know. Will I be back - probably - it's a nice spot for meeting friends for lunch. But it will be when I'm aware I'm going to have to shell out some $$ for lunch only.

Solveig S.

Yelp
Easily one of the best restaurants in Jax!!! There's always a line out the door because it's just THAT GOOD. They're known for their delicious homemade bread, pastries, and desserts. You can't go wrong ordering here, UNLESS you skip the dessert. Then you really went wrong. P.S. the cheese danish was 12/10 a perfect pastry

Matthew O.

Yelp
I love this place! The French Pantry is probably one of my favorite restaurants to go to in Jacksonville. It is a restaurant institution in this city. Everyone knows about this place and everyone wants to go to this place. Before the pandemic, it was darn near impossible to get a seat here. You had to wait in line for over an hour sometimes just to get in to order. Was it worth it? Absolutely. The food is amazing. From the fresh baked bread and pastries to the amazing salads and dishes, everything is delicious! This place might not have the greatest ambience around, but let's be honest, you're coming here for the food. With the pandemic though, I found one benefit. You can order online for pick up now! And with that, no more waiting in line! I placed an order for this amazing sandwich, swung by, and was out in 15 minutes. Sure I don't get to sit around and peruse the menu for additional items, but take out is just as good and convenient. The quality of the food was still top notch. Guys, make your way here be it online or in person. You don't want to miss out :)

Katrina A.

Yelp
Great food and fast service. Newly remodeled building, freshly baked bread and delicious deserts.

Hope S.

Yelp
SERVICE / AMBIANCE: Service was very good; the cashier taking our order gave recommendations for some of my family on the fence between items. This is much appreciated as I experience this very often at places with such great selections. Since this place is so good (and people know it), there is typically a line out the door. BUT it is worth it. FOOD: I ordered the Chicken Cesar Salad and it was so good. The chicken was juicy and tender, and the salad dressing was so flavorful. I would 100% order this again. Definitely go check out this spot for lunch! It is a MUST.

Sean M.

Yelp
My first time here and came with my friends who I've known for years. My wife and I met at a Yelp event incidentally. Our friends were here from out of town and they took me for lunch. They raved about it and I understand why. Delicious food and a great staff. I got the Kobe Burger rare and it was perfect. The beef was cooked perfectly, expertly seasoned and juicy that it softened that soft bun. The fries were so crispy and perfectly cooked too. The restaurant is clean and has a nice ambiance. They were playing some greet music too. This is a new hidden gem that I'm excited to share with my wife who wasn't able to come with us as she had to work.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious and worth the wait! The service is always friendly and patient. The ambiance is usually always busting! The bruschetta is always a perfect lunch item because the bread is so crispy & filling. Our MUST ORDER dessert is the wedding cake! If you have time, I recommend ordering it for lunch and taking little bites so you can savor the flavor! Everything is fresh, large portions, and divine! Get there early or order ahead for a quick pick up!

Yelp
To start, when you pull up, you question if you may be at the right place. But walk in the doors and it's the cutest little shop with great ambiance and amazing food! The bread is baked fresh daily, everything was so fresh and just incredible! They provide you with a bread sample and olive oil at your table while you wait on your food! It's a must try!!

Yelp
Ate at The French Pantry for lunch today and it was amazing! I will start by saying be prepared to look for parking and to wait in line if you aren't early getting there, but other than that everything was on point. We ordered a bruschetta for the table which was great; and I had the muffuletta that made me tell everyone around me that it was the best muffuletta I've ever had. I mean this sandwich was so freaking good! I got half in a box here right now at work that I'm so tempted to eat, but I am saving it for dinner. Service was also top notch from the cashier to the server. Overall I went in with high expectations from the word of mouth I've heard of French pantry; and I came out a believer. I can't wait to go back and try something else on the menu.

Yelp
The French pantry has my wallet by the chokehold. I've tried pretty much everything on the menu but always come back to the hot Italian. I can't get enough of their fresh breads and how this sandwich is put together because honestly it's not a sandwich, it's what has God has given humanity. I can't even talk about their cookies, pies and cakes without spiking my blood sugar. The portion sizes are huge and it welcomes you like a hug from a long lost friend. Speaking of a long lost friend, they also greet you after you order with an assorted bread plate and their Italian seasonings with oil. You honestly can't ask for a better meal and I hope you spend all your money here.

Yelp
Absolutely amazingggg From the focaccia at the beginning to the wedding cake and any of their sandwiches, absolutely delicious

Yelp
We went on the recommendation of a local, but we were turned off by the prices, despite no ambiance to actually stay and eat there -- and no almond croissants. If you're hoping for traditional French pastry ... croissants, eclairs, napoleons this is not it. Their breads and pastries use looked great, so imagine take out only.

Yelp
I've been going to FP for over 20 years. The last couple of years I have been so frustrated with the inefficiency of the order taking, I don't want to go as often as I would have in the past. I get it that the kitchen wants to know what orders to group, but there has to be a better way.A party of 7 in front of us probably took 10 minutes from start to finish. Almost 1/3 of the dining room was empty and there was a long line out the door.

Yelp
Food is fantastic! Planning on getting there relatively early; a line can form outside the door and it can get very crowded. Seating is first come, first service. You place your order then find a seat. Overall ambiance is dependent on whether you like crowds or are flexible to seat with strangers

Yelp
The food & the deserts are great. Fresh and well prepared. Food was brought to our table without a long wait. Atmosphere is family style and conversation carries over from table to table because acoustics. Great for lunch, not so much for romance.

Yelp
This is by far the best restaurant I've ever been to. The food was so delicious! The service was great! I'll definitely be back to try more dishes.

Yelp
Not as impressed this time. Had the mozzarella bruschetta, not at all what I expected, like I could have made a piece of garlic cheese toast at home. Salad was good, I asked for the raspberry vinaigrette, but not sure that's what I got. Our server didn't give us the opportunity to ask a single question, & my husband had to go back up to the counter because his order was wrong. He said his Italian sandwich was good. Restrooms and floors were dirty. Oh well. Maybe we'll have better luck next time.

Yelp
I came prepared for my favorite of favorites: bruschetta and cake. It's an order at the counter - community table style place. Often there is a line out the door but they do a great job of arranging the tables and getting the food out quickly. Many delicious options for the salad or sandwich lover. Local favorite. Never not delicious!

Yelp
I was excited to try this place as I love French Cafes and it was busy and really cute! it's community seating, which is fine but there was a baby that made a huge mess on the floor of the table they sat me at and when I asked if they could sweep the girl seating me ignored me and told me to sit down and walked away. 5 minutes later I'm still there with food all over the floor around my feet. I asked a busser if she could sweep under my table and she said we sweep at the end of the day. I said I get that, but there was a baby here before and there is food I am kicking under the table and I'd really appreciate it. she showed her disgust clearly at being asked to sweep, but still did it. I would talk about the food but I never got a chance to eat. I ordered a bruschetta and a coffee and waited 25 minutes while the people who got there 15 minutes after me were served a very similar order to mine. I asked for mine to go which took another 5 minutes. oh and no espresso! just American coffee. that's $25 and 40 minutes I'll never get back on food I didn't even have time to eat.

Yelp
We ordered the Cajun Bruschetta, the Shrimp Po Boy, and the Chicken Panini sandwich. The portions were huge. We took leftovers for a full 2nd meal. The food was flavorful. My husband said best Po Boy he's ever had. There was a line, even on a Wednesday at 11:30, but it moved pretty quickly. The staff was friendly. The bread and oil given while we waited for our food was delicious. The place was full with a line out the door the entire time. Great place and we liked it.

Yelp
For five years I've heard nothing but great things about The French Pantry. All the hype and anticipation was well worth it! We arrived about 11:30 and the line was out the door but it moved pretty quickly. Reading over the menu while waiting in line made my stomach growl and my mouth salivate. Everything sounded delicious! I ordered the spinach, caramelized onions, bacon and sun dried tomatoes bruschetta. It was absolutely delicious! The heaping salad that comes with it was light and refreshing. I don't normally order dessert but their display cases full of yummy treats made it impossible to resist. I ordered the Brown Butter Fruit Tart. Amazing!!! Let's just say, I was beyond stuffed when I left. Two tips for anyone reading this - 1) consider sharing a meal with someone because there's definitely enough for two 2) life is short. Get. The. Dessert!!!

Yelp
Had a wonderful experience at the French pantry. You have to wait in line to be let in and order. Once you order the person at the register gives you your table. The portions were huge! And they bake their own bread and pastries! You can also purchase bread and cakes.

Yelp
Listen. I don't give just anyone 5 stars. But this place right here...is well deserving of all 5..and then some. I was given the recommendation by a friend on Facebook and I'm glad I took it. I wasn't necessarily in the mood for a sandwich... but after looking at the menu...I was all in. It was about 1pm when we arrived ..and they close at 2. Everyone was nice, there was no rush or pressure and the customer service was top notch all across the board. I decided to order the hot pastrami sandwich, and my mom ordered the Turkey Swiss Guacamole. My eyes were bigger than my stomach.. and being that most sandwich shops serve small portions i ordered an order of fries, and a half salad with bang bang shrimp. My mom did the same ...and boy were we mistaken! Lol. All the food came out and you'd think 5 people were about to eat. As I sat there, it felt like all eyes were on our table, to see if we could eat all the food that sat on the table. We hadn't even got dessert yet. Needless to say, sandwiches were immaculate. The fries (the few I could eat) were good and fresh. The salad...was amazing. Once we packed up the leftover food into to-go boxes, you'd think we left a grocery store. lol. Lastly-- there's some wedding cake they have ... and it is arguably some of the best cake I've ever had. It's literally perfect. If you're ever able to check this place out... DO YOURSELF THAT FAVOR and make it happen.
