I visited for a business lunch and was warmly greeted by the friendly staff. The food was excellent, made with fresh, flavorful ingredients, and the ambiance was pleasant. I will definitely be looking for another opportunity to return and try more dishes! 👍🏼 👍🏼

Prompt service but food is average considering the price. Platting could be more refined. But many options of sizzling plates / clay pots which make a good experience.

Off from bus, saw the Chinese sign, nice restaurant, clean .fried rice in little cute wood bucket, they didn’t have wide noodles, only have yellow noodles. Dishes are small portion, but taste good .after done with food they sever the hot towel for clean hands, that very old way when I’m young in HK. Very good service,

I tried the dim sum, which is only available during the week; it's not offered on weekends. 🥟The pork and shrimp dim sum were simply amazing. 🍲The Vietnamese-style soup, which resembles pho, is even better than pho. The meat is much tastier. 🥡🥢The service is excellent, and I really enjoyed it 😊🌝

This has always been one of our favorite Asian restaurants in London. It had been several years since we had a chance to visit until getting the chance to do so when in town this week, and it didn’t disappoint. The crispy duck is highly recommended, and the Singapore noodles were great as well. The restaurant is much bigger than it looks like when you walk in, with a large dining area on the basement level, though it can feel a bit shut off from the rest of the restaurant down there, so if you can sit on the main floor, please request that.

Went here for dinner after visiting the Victoria and Albert museum and we all agreed it deserved more than 4.3 stars!! Service was stellar and food was elegant and incredible. Would highly recommend getting an appetizer or two, but leave room for the main courses as well!

Well this is just the place to visit after a good walk around Harrods. Of course there are dozens if not hundreds of places to eat in and around Knightsbridge but I do enjoy a great Chinese restaurant when I find one. The food was stellar, a great wide selection and very authentic. Service was top notch and hospitality was wonderful. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Again, food was just sublime, no issues whatsoever and didn't take too long. It was very busy so it's certainly worth booking a table ahead of time. The hot and sour soup and the sweet and sour prawns were definitely the highlight of the meal. Loved all the food, wish I had ordered more! Great sombre ambience. Will definitely be visiting again. Thanks for the wonderful experience.

Even if you leave Hong Kong, you can still taste the authentic Hong Kong food. come to Good Earth

After eating an English breakfast consecutive days in a row and trying Fish and Chips, I was craving Asian food. Thankfully, on my way to the Natural History Museum, I came across The Good Earth. Besides the fact that it was one of the few Chinese restaurants in sight, I was reminded of the novel by Pearl S. Buck. It is a bit pricier to eat here, and expect white table cloth as well as attentive service. I got the following: -Chicken with Black Beans: a bit on the salty side and heavy with sauce; the chicken was tender, and it was enough for about one person. They did provide plenty of onions but only a bit of the bell pepper. -Vegetable Fried Rice: a decent portion (I'd say enough for two if you're looking to eat one portion for each person); it was perfectly seasoned with tiny bits of veggies mixed throughout. Overall, it was a decent experience.

Was in London for a week and this was my favorite meal! Smaller restaurant only one room. We started with spring rolls and veggie lettuce wraps. The spring rolls were delicious filled with fresh ingredients as an American i feel like so many places serve frozen ones that was a major difference from these. The lettuce wraps were okay. I did enjoy all the different sauces they had to offer. The sweet and sour chicken was absolutely delicious. The chicken was so tender and moist and the sauce was incredible. I could've had this same meal the next day and been perfectly content with it! I'm giving this rating 4 stars because the ambiance wasn't that great there was a table with 2 ladies and a child. The child had YouTube on one of the phones very loud that you could hear as you walked in and one of the ladies was on FaceTime with the speaker loud talking. It was very disrespectful and annoying. I wish something was said so that way others could enjoy their dining experience.

I live in Miami and it is not easy to find a good Chinese restaurant. So, whilst we were in London, we knew we would be able to find one. We came here on recommendation from our hotel and after reading positive reviews online. It did not disappoint. We enjoyed all the food and it was authentic.

Great food. Perfect portion sizes. Very nice service as well. This is definitely a must visit in central London.

After a wonderful dining experience last year, could not wait to return to The Good Earth during a recent stay in London. I'm glad we did. Again quality, consistency and ambiance was spot on. The food is high end, well served and part of a Chinese white table cloth dining experience which is, for the most part, not very common in New York City anymore. We tried different specialities among them a chicken dumplings, a duck dish, spicy Lamb, and the special Dragon Whiskers Prawns. (in honor of Year of the Dragon!). All delectable and expertly served. Even later in the evening the restaurant was quite crowded. We also had the honor to meet Andy, the Founder's son, who explained a bit of background on this Restaurant, which has become a Family passion. When next on London, we'll be back!

We ordered takeaway. I tried ordering online, but it is impossible with a US phone number or without setting up an account. I was forced to call them to place an order. The food was well packaged. We ordered Satay Chicken on Skewers 3/5, Pan fried Chicken & Chive Dumplings 3/5 (bland and we didn't care for vinegar dipping sauce), Singapore Rice Noodles with chicken & shrimp 3/5 (bland and dry), Lemon Chicken 3/5, and Kung-Po Chicken 3/5.

Very good food, with truly outstanding service; every visit the service is a cut above, which makes the choice to go back easy. Everything we have tries has been good to excellent, and the ambiance makes for a perfect evening.

Good but Pricey. Nothing comparing to London's China town. The serving is super small. The food is authentic chinese - with a little bit of a London twist - like how it is in every city and country. It has 2 story to accommodate diners even without a reservation. Service is friendly. It's just 2 or 3 blocks down from Harrods.

Decent British Chinese restaurant operated by an older immigrant from Hong Kong. Definitely real Chinese food with a Knightsbridge twist as opposed to the faux "Modern Interpretation" at Harrod's right down the street. It's not the kind of food you would get in China but perfectly yummy. Would have given it four stars but dinged them one for having a dirty serving platter that they wouldn't wipe even after pointing it out to them

I had been at this restaurant a few years ago while visiting London. We enjoyed it then, and I was glad to be back. The steamed sea bass and pak choy were both excellent. It is close to Harrod's, so if you are out shopping, this a great place for lunch with friends.

Really enjoyed the food here! So much so that we came back for a second time during our stay in London. I recommend the Honey Glazed Ribs Spicy Chicken with Lemongrass Sweet & Sour Chicken Egg Fried Rice the Good Earth Crepe with Red Bean Paste I'm not a big duck fan but the aromatic duck was very good. TIP: You only need the smallest size if you're ordering other things in addition. ‼I didn't care for the Shanghai Chili Chicken - it was just whatever. The wonton soup was BAD!‼ Despite the two dishes I did not care for I still give this 5 stars because everything else was SO good and I liked our service. Very attentive which a lot times is hard to find in Europe from my experience.

This has been our go to Chinese restaurant in London for several years. Love the delightfully delicious and spicy hot and sour soup, the yummy spring rolls and all the prawn dishes. As an added bonus, the Sichuan French beans are outstanding as are the noodle dishes. We order a lot of dishes, stuff ourselves, save some items for our second visit and skip dessert. After walking around the area if we get a hankering for something sweet, we go to Venchi across the South Kensington tube station for some great gelato, having first discovered Venchi in Firenze. I am surprised that Gold Earth does not get a higher rating because it is packed with loyal customers both at lunch and dinner time. We also love the cleanliness of this establishment and the absence of strong stale odors usually a downside of many Chinese (and Asian) eateries. This restaurant is an easy walk (West) along Brompton Road from Harrods and across from the legendary Brompton Oratory. I must add that typical of most eating establishments in London, there are many vegetarian options and more can be prepared on order. All in all a well a great alternative to our usually frequented Indian and Pakistani food joints in his great city. If you are in the area give Good Earth a try. I cannot promise you will like it but we do and keep going back, eating here at least a couple of times during our London stay which says a lot because there are so many amazing choices in this city and in its suburbs.

Slow service even amid this slow period sept 2020. Food did not taste as good as other authentic Chinese restaurants. Quite disappointing. Duck was very dry no matter how much hoisin sauce one put in the small pancake. Reasonably priced for London standards and location. Nice friendly service.

Every time I come to London I make sure to have a meal at Good Earth. Each time I leave sad that no such restaurant exists in Miami. Food is exceptional as is the service. Highly recommend this restaurant

Some of the best Chinese food I have ever tasted! Who knew I had to como to the UK to experience it ? Every time we are in London we make it a must have ! Every single dish is delicately prepared and served. Nothing is overly salty or loaded with MSG . I have never had a bad dish so I keep trying new ones every time I visit . I just wish they would dim the lights at the bar !!!!! They are too bright , off putting and unnecessary! They need to improve the ambiance at the bar ! Can't wait to return !

Fortunately, no fortune cookie just a quick, healthy meal with attentive service. Popped into Harrod's and wanted to drop in somewhere close for a light, healthy bite. I walked into Good Earth and was immediately greeted and seated. I snagged the cozy, corner seat at the bar - a personal favorite. Looking around there was a healthy amount of banter and customers - Sunday supper with the grandparents at a back table. A threesome in earshot at the bar with me talking about the Indie Film one was taking to festivals in the US and a cute older couple on a date. The menu shared a nice variety but wasn't taxing to get through as some Chinese menus can be. I chose two starter dishes Garlic, ginger and white wine baby broccoli, chicken satay and a glass of wine. My meal was fresh, light and unburdened by sauces. It may be odd to some but I was also pleased to not receive the typical fortune cookie at the end of the meal with cryptic numbers on the back I have no idea what to do with. Food was 4 stars but overall experience a 5!

After 4 days wandering around London we were exhausted and didn't want to stray too far from our hotel so we ended up at the Good Earth Chinese Restaurant which was right around the corner from our hotel. We started with won ton soup which had a very nice broth, tasty veggies and great won ton. We then ordered the Tangerine Chicken and Orange Shrimp, both dishes were very nicely prepared and had nice flavor profiles. I also enjoyed a decent glass of wine with my meal. The servers were very nice as was the food. The next time we are in London and have a hankering for some Chinese food we will stop by Good Earth for a great meal.

The menu is interesting and presentation enticing. If you want any spice you have to request it. Otherwise very bland. When ordering the dish that includes rice and clear soup they mean it. Skip the "soup" you're paying for. If you want a meat dish order it. Otherwise the portion that comes with a dish is meager at best. Expensive for what it is. A chicken satay, combination meat lunch special and glass of wine was over 42 sterling lbs or over $50!

This restaurant offered the best Chinese food I hadn't had outside of China for a long time. Both food and services are flawless. I have to say I am impressed.

This is the best chinese I've been to (there was one other one in Belgium called L'Asie Imperial, but unfortunately it closed). I have been here so many times over the years, and every time I go back to London, The Good Earth is one of my first stops. Gosh, I'm hungry now! There isn't a dish I've had that that I don't like. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. Okay here's some things I like: Grilled Chicken Dumplings Lettuce Wrapped Chicken Crispy Spring Rolls Aromatic Duck - SO DAMN GOOD. Grilled Monkfish - my friend was lovin' this dish Chicken & Sweet Corn Broth Hot & Sour Soup Won Ton Soup Sweet & Sour Chicken: SO good because it is actually sweet AND sour ... unlike most sweet & sour dishes at other restaurants where it's uber sweet and jellied. There are many more dishes that are great - but i would be naming the whole menu. Note: This is not a cheap restaurant. Be prepared to throw down some cash ... but it's so worth it! The portions are not huge, which is great, because you can order a variety of dishes ;) Make a reservation because it always seems to pack in a good crowd. There is a separate vegetarian menu

Best Chinese restaurant near Imperical College London. During my visit at IC, Good Earch is my default option if I want great solid Chinese food. The service and the food taste both are really high quality. Their crispy duck is a must-have. I enjoy all of my visits here and definitely hope this place will thrive more. However, please do aware that this place is a bit more expensive than other Chinese restaurants since it's Michelin starred.

Ordered delivery from here after a long day in London. They got the food here faster than their website said they would which was very nice. The food was decent. Not bad but not anything special in my opinion. Still their service was good and they are convenient so I'd most likely order from here again.

The Fragrant Duck is amazing! But I cant say the same for the chow mein and egg fried rice... They needed to be spiced up.

After traveling in the UK for 3 weeks I really needed something rather than fish and chips. I had an amazing meal here. Their aromatic duck was absolutely delicious.

I ordered from the Good earth and have never been more disappointed. First, the food came in closed packaging, meaning it was basically processed. I ordered chow main and it was completely dry with no sauce. It tasted like card board. The chicken was rubbery and definitely not fresh. We also "fried rice" and it came as steamed rice with a fake processed egg. Zero taste. I have attached photos for proof.

Terrible experience. The place is completely lacking in atmosphere, the restaurant is completely silent. I brought my 2 children there and they were speaking in normal tones, however my 11 month old daughter would once or twice babble slightly loudly. The owner's mother started complaining very loudly about how children didn't belong in the restaurant and how all families who brought kids should be put on a different floor. On top of this, the food was mediocre and extremely over salted. While the servers were attentive and tried very hard, the food was very slow.

Good spot in middle of town. Food was great and the service warmed up in the middle of dinner. Docking them a star since the welcome wasn't quite warm and the server suggested a wine which tasted like sour grapes lol. Over all almost all the dishes we tried were great. The spicy chicken is to die for if you can handle red chili coz it's spicy. Over all great experience at a good price. Just don't ask for advice on wine..

This is a very classy yet cozy Chinese restaurant that's walking distance from Harrods. I love the ambiance! The staff are friendly, dressed up very neatly and provide excellent service from the time you enter the door to the time you leave the restaurant. The servers are very attentive yet not hovering over us. The food is exquisite, served and presented well and their wine selection is great. The only thing I can say that's a little on the negative side is that the tables on the left side of the restaurant were too close together. So, the area I'm talking about is not too conducive for a date situation. You would be too close in proximity to the diners on the next table for two. Other than that, the time I was there was perfect. A few customers including myself even lingered past the closing time, enjoying dining but we never got a negative look or attitude from any of the staff who still patiently served everyone. I can say that it was quite a dining experience. I will definitely go back there when in London after shopping at Harrods!

I don't know why this place is listed as such an expensive restaurant. It's not. I had their 'chicken' szechuan. The 'chicken' in this dish is some of the best meat substitute I've ever had. It was fabulous. We didn't really intend to drink bottled water, which tagged about 4 pounds onto our bill; so be forewarned. 'Still' water means from an expensive bottle. Overall, though, it was a great little restaurant.

Twelve of us gathered here for lunch. We ordered a large selection of entrees and shared everything. The food was fresh and flavorful and the presentation was very attractive. Especially enjoyed the chicken lettuce wraps. Upscale Asian. Great service.

Good service but food ( chicken tangerine and vegetable medley ) had a glutinous/ gummy to the sauce that only made the dishes bland. Our previous London trips have given us memorable Chinese food, this won't be one of them

I tried their express service recently and was very impressed with their menu. Soft shell crabs are a delicacy you'd usually only find within Chinatown and to my surprise this was the best I'd ever had. The food is simply delicious.

I always go to this place, the food is excellent. The crispy ducks and pancakes are my favorite and recently I have developed a palate for their succulent sweet and sour shrimp

Having been here since the year dot, this restaurant continues to impress with good food and super service. It is not cheap and you can expect to pay £50 per head with wine. However, the food is well prepared and served perfectly by a very attentive staff who all know what the are doing. It pays to reserve as space is limited and even on a Sunday evening it will be full. A testament to good food and comfortable surroundings

This is the best Chinese food I have had in a long time - maybe ever. The honey ribs are fantastic. Wonton soup and chicken corn soup are excellent. Sweet and sour chicken was very good. Service was great. Owner came over to say hello. We also liked the spring rolls and especially the chicken on a stick. Price was typical London prices for finer restaurant. Definitely worth try. Wish we had Chinese restaurant of this quality back home. We were in London for 10 days and ate here 3 times. Gonna miss this place!!

Almost no words for how good this was. We ordered the prix fixe menu and it was just simply... Amazing. The service was both prompt and elegant. Loved the atmosphere. Just wish it wasn't on a different continent than I am!

The Good Earth is a well located Chinese restaurant. Near the museums of South Kensington as well as good public transport and the Royal Albert Hall, it seemed a perfect location to eat at before seeing "Totem" at the Hall on Saturday evening. It was also close to Chinese New Year and our first choice "Min Jiang - Royal Garden Hotel" was fully booked. We got there on time and the restaurant was ready for us, the service was efficient and polite (although no one took a drinks order). The menu is somewhat limited, with a choice of four or so set deals (starting at about £29pp) and then having standard starters and mains. There is also unusually a good Vegetarian section, with quite a few more than average dishes. We ordered four dishes, which for two people was enough, (Singapore Rice Noodles, Fried French Beans, an Aubergine dish and Spicy Lamb) which in total with one beer came to just under £50, so therefore a fairly expensive evening already. Food was delivered very quickly, unusually so (about ten minutes) so this was a good thing, but perhaps betrays the takeaway concept that some of this chain have. Anyway, the beans were good (crispy, salty and generally nice), but the other dishes were average at best. In particular Singapore Rice Noodles which should be an explosion of colour, taste and so on was a small portion and lacked that zing, taste and character. The lamb was spicy, but that was about it while the aubergine was far the biggest disapointment. We love Aubergine dishes and have had some great ones at various asian restaurants, but these were mushy with very little texture or taste having soaked in and an unusually gloopy sauce. It was by no means "Bad", you wouldn't send food back at all, but for £50, in a nice location I would expected a bit more. As it was with food and service I would have given it three stars. What dropped it to two was the table layouts, you were so close to other people that private conversations were impossible. There was no background music and with everyone keeping their voices down to try and have some kind of romantic or private night together, it was dire. Literally there was just under 2 foot between my table and the one on either side. Anyway, not a fan of things like that. At least some background music might have livened the place up a bit?

Excellent food. Saw the sign in the window about Dim Sum. The lunch menu had an assortment of specials. We had the Dim Sum platter and a chicken and shrimp noodle dish. Both were delicious. Nice decor. Friendly service. I would definitely eat hear again.

The best ma po tofu I have had in a long long time. My wife and I found this restaurant down the street from our hotel. The hotel recommended it highly. We ate there a total of three times during the two weeks we were in London. Each time the food was great. Try they're dry fry green beans I think you'll like them.

Excellent Chinese food. Always reliable as one of the most delicious Chinese meals in London. I especially love the smoked chicken starter - super sweet.

Excellent food, wine and service. Loved everything about this place, the atmosphere the lazy Susie's in the middle of the table so we could all try each other's dishes or order as a table. Definitely not your typical Chinese

The Good Earth on Brompton Road remains one the better places for Chinese food in my experience. I have only ever used this branch but if the others are similar I would say 'The Good Earth' group is easily on a par with the 'Royal China' chain of restaurants but perhaps lacking such a large & varied menu and legendary Dim Sum. The rice & noodles are always cooked just right and the Char siu is up there with the best I have had anywhere. Chicken & Black Bean tends to be a little milder then I like but is still good. Service is good and the atmosphere is pleasant. I have used their delivery service a few times and although it takes longer to arrive (avg 45-60mins) the food was always hot enough. That was a years ago though as I am no longer in their delivery area. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Very nice Chinese restaurant - tasty food and pleasant atmosphere. Staff was attentive and accommodating.

My 4 stars on this are slightly deceiving. The bottom line is that the food was 5 star worthy but the restaurants manager knocked off a star. I shall explain in due course. The food was, as I said, excellent. The duck was exquisite - I like my duck quite crispy all over and, more importantly, the same amount of crisp all over. And boy did they nail it! It was delicious. Next, we ordered some spring rolls because, well, why the hell not? They were standard, juicy yet crispy, run of the mill spring rolls. The mains were top notch. I highly recommend the Sichuan prawns - SO yummy. We also ordered some chicken in black bean sauce which was delicious - succulent, slightly tangy, and full of lots of different vegetables to be all healthy and that. For sides, we ordered the Singapore noodles and egg fried rice. In hindsight, I wouldn't go for the Singapore noodles as they were quite light and didn't really complement the rest of the dishes. I'd maybe pick the chow mein as a noodle side next time. Also a word to the wise - order more than one egg fried rice. So overall, food was excellent. Now comes the downer. There was a very rowdy table full of extremely drunk young men. Fair enough - alcohol can do that to oneself, especially when complemented with only Chinese food. From standing on the tables, to throwing hand towels around to making a tower of their shoes and then proceeding to drink wine out of their shoes (I seriously hope that was a dare and not done by choice!) Now I understand that it's rare for the management to have these sorts of customers. But come on, it's standard practice for the manager to ask them to keep it down at least once or twice! I asked the manager why he hasn't thrown them out yet or complained to them and his response was "they're paying us well". I was quite shocked with this and so he's lost his restaurant a star from my review. I'll be sure not to return on a weekend. But that said, the food was so delicious I'll have to come back for some more.

My wife & I had lunch @ The Good Earth. She had Kung Po Chicken with white rice. I had a spicy noodle dish with seafood. Mine had a slight taste of curry. The person sitting next to me had Dim Sum. It looked delicious. If I get back this area I'll try the Dim Sum. Service was very good. A little pricy for lunch but, food was good.

I'm so thankful to find this Chinese restaurant in my neighbourhood. Very clean, service is proper. Stir-fried lamb with lemongrass is very delicious. Good quality of ingredients.

I've eaten Chinese food from Los Angeles to Hong Kong, Guangzhou to New York... hands down this is the best!!!
