"We're a family owned business founded by the famous father and daughter duo Bobby and Brooklyn. Offering unique and amazing gourmet hot dogs with a twist. We're the Home Of The Steak Dog and a premier destination in Chicago."
"The father-daughter team of Bobby and Brooklyn Morelli became a sensation shortly after they opened their first location at Boxville, the shipping container complex in Bronzeville. The duo have since moved operations to the North Side to Portage Park. Selections include a signature filet mignon dog and salmon and vegan varieties." - Ashok Selvam
"There was a time when specialty hot dog shops littered the streets of Chicago like, well, like litter. We’re not seeing as many these days, which makes us appreciate Hot Dog Box even more. This family-owned hot dog spot started out in a shipping container in Bronzeville’s Boxville Marketplace and is currently operating out of Urban Space food hall in the Loop. While it’s moved around a lot, one thing that has been consistent is their delicious steak dogs. The quarter pound dogs are meaty and juicy, with a great snap that holds up to toppings. The menu has a variety to choose from, with standouts like the Bronzeville Bourbon (piled high with bacon and bbq sauce) and the MAC city, which is their take on a Chicago-style. And if your lust for encased meats can’t be sated, get a side of corn dog nuggets." - Adrian Kane
"The Hot Dog Box, Bobby Morelli’s gourmet sausage brand that closed in late 2022 in Portage Park, in January launched a new location inside Urbanspace Washington at 15 W. Washington Street. Morelli is easing into the neighborhood with a selection of popular options, including some that date back to the company’s origins in a Bronzeville storage container." - Naomi Waxman
"Less than a month after closing in Portage Park, the Hot Dog Box will reopen in a downtown food hall. Owner Bobby Morelli is bringing fan favorites like the Bronzeville Bourbon Dog and new submissions to the Loop, steps away from Daley Plaza. The new Hot Dog Box is scheduled to open on Monday, January 9 inside Urbanspace Washington at 15 W. Washington Street. Originally founded in August 2020 inside a red shipping container in Bronzeville’s Boxville marketplace, the Hot Dog Box cultivated a loyal following with gourmet steak dogs piled high with toppings like chipotle shrimp and pepperoni with mozzarella. The business was bustling, and in January 2022, Morelli relocated the stall to a permanent space on the North Side where he hoped to expand the menu and hone the brand. Challenges emerged, including limited pedestrians and few regulars from the neighborhood. The Portage Park restaurant closed permanently in mid-December. The Hot Dog Box charges around $12 for fancier options, with simple hot dogs priced at $3.75. The new location is in a more tourist-dense neighborhood, and Morelli plans to offer longtime favorites and fresh creations with staggered releases." - Naomi Waxman
"A venue known for hot dogs, offering unique seasoned Mac Dog Mix popcorn in various flavors." - Naomi Waxman
