Cozy neighborhood pizzeria features wood-fired pies with creative toppings in a relaxed atmosphere.
"Provided you show up at 5pm or make a reservation via email, The Independent Pizzeria in Madison Park is your ideal SCRPRTCUWFF pizza party scenario. The interior has a modern-Brady-Bunch-living-room kind of feel (if you get at least one “Oh, cute!” from your group, we’ve done our job), and the charred Neapolitan pies are both excellent and reasonably-priced. Don’t skip the caesar salad." - aimee rizzo
"When you want your girls’ night out to feel like an adult pizza party, The Independent Pizzeria is the place to go. If you weren’t able to make a reservation (which you need to do by email), get there right at 5pm, because you’ll never get a table in the tiny dining room otherwise. Then, split a few insanely good pies, some charcuterie, and a couple of caesar salads, and wash it all down with tallboys of hard cider. It’s everything you’d ever want in pizza night, without the annoying younger siblings, lack of alcohol, and Costco cake you remember from your youth." - aimee rizzo
"This Madison Park favorite is known for its flaky, crispy thin crust pizzas. Each dish is a thoughtful concoction of balanced ingredients, like the Norwalk, which consists of sliced prosciutto, dollops of melted mozzarella, grana cheese, and a heap of fresh arugula greens. It’s not easy to score a pie here — it’s only open from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, and it occasionally sells out. Get here early." - Jade Yamazaki Stewart, Meg van Huygen, Harry Cheadle
"If you’re going to Madison Park Beach, The Independent Pizzeria is a convenient stop nearby. They serve some of the best charred Neapolitan-style pies in the city, which is ideal when you want to grab some pizzas and eat them in the park while sitting criss cross applesauce. Order a round of cider tallboys, a margherita, and the buttery lemon-squeezed clam pie before seamlessly transitioning to some prime duck-watching." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley
"Whenever we want to eat a personal pizza chased with a tallboy, The Indie always hits the spot. Their incredible pies are thin, blistery, and have flawless cheese-to-sauce ratios. It’s also important to note that they make something that very few places do in Seattle: the clam pie. Their version is salty and velvety, and comes with a lemon wedge that brightens it all up. Sure, every pizza here is wonderful, but make sure you order the clam pie. You can go ahead and cancel that New England vacation afterwards." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley
