I used to live in the area and had no idea about this place. The staff was extremely pleasant and very helpful. The food was tasty, too. But the property? Elegant and classy. Everything was in working order. Nothing appeared to be a "copy/paste" or a typical interior or exterior design. I will go out of my way to visit again, hopefully soon!

I’ll admit we were on the fence / unsure how this place would be because the reviews are mixed and even post renovations folks mentioned poor service. Much to our pleasant surprise we had such a great experience staying here. If you’re on the fence, pull the trigger. The service was fantastic. The grounds are lovely. And the food is delish! We only left the property to go play tennis at the club nearby, otherwise they’ve got everything you need! Definitely will be recommending.

Stayed here last year as I was visiting a friend who lives in the area and they recommended the hotel. Room was fantastic, a beautiful bungalow and the little outdoor veranda space which was nice and very relaxing. Restaurant was very nice as was room service. The spa was outstanding, I highly recommend the massage treatment plus the food in the spa is fabulous for lunch. The only downside to my trip which really spoiled it was an unpleasant encounter at the pool. I went to the pool after I'd been out since very early in the morning and the pool attendant showed me to a sun lounger. A local who was using the facilities insisted that I moved to accommodate his family and I was pretty rudely told by the staff (not asked) to move. It was quite intimidating as I was on my own and I felt uncomfortable for the rest of the day and didn't return to the pool again after that. My friend arranged for me to use the facilities at another hotel which were so good. At $600 a night you don't expect that and as a guest you should really have the hotel's priority over locals not staying in the hotel. My friend dropped by the hotel after my stay to discuss it with the hotel who said they would contact me but they did not. I visit the area 4-5 times per year and I've found the other luxury hotel in the area to be much more guest orientated.

Absolutely the best experience ever at the Inn for our wedding. All the effort and attention to detail from the staff at every level, from catering to booking our guest rooms to the food and spa, was done at an exceptional level. We truly felt so special and we are so happy that we have the Inn as our place to visit to remember our wedding day. We can't thank you enough!

Google
My wife and I loved our stay and will return. The entire Inn was updated in the past year and everything about the Inn was top notch. The food was very good but doesn't compete well with some of the other equivalent options in North County. However, the service from restaurant to hotel staff was exceptional. They made us feel special.

Wonderful spa get-away for mother-daughter birthday celebration. Everything was perfect- the room, the spa, the restaurant. Loved the hot tub and sauna. Fabulous massages. Delightful surprise treats awaited us in the room upon our return.

Google
If I could I would give the inn 10 stars. What a special experience. The grounds are spectacular and lead right to the town or the pool or the spa. The staff is so good wish I had enough space to name them all. Stayed for 9 days, wish it was forever. The Restaurant and Cafe are so good and well run no reason to leave, but location is the best. Within half hour of all major attractions, Zoo, Golf, Flower Fields. Farmers Markets, Botanical Gardens, La Jolla, Encinitas, Del Mar.

Amazing spa experience! We both have happy skin. Dinner at Lillian’s was delicious - distracted service though. Rooms are decorated beautifully and have the best Toto toilets! But take good earplugs if you stay over, the walls are thin thin thin!

Yelp
Update: My husband and I came back in late 2023 and things seem to be on an upswing with new ownership. We had an amazing room and the bar and restaurant were lovely. It was too dark to see the pool but we had a private jacuzzi so I didn't mind. It's safe to say that as the new owners continue to make updates to this property it will become the rare gem it is meant to be.

Yelp
As a previous valet, I tried to make my opinions and feelings noticed which I was reciprocated with negativity making me feel like the bad guy for wanting more hours. It is non-directly made clear you won't get any hours because "it's slow." While there are employees who continue to get more and more hours. I went to quit texting the manager and got an AI response as he clearly didn't want to handle his responsibilities

Yelp
Dined at bings bar this past weekend and it was honestly some of the best service I've ever had! Thank you Rayna for helping with the wine selection, couldn't have made a better pick! Will be back again!

Yelp
I've been a guest at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe on past "Staycations" over years and always enjoyed the quaint bungalows, gardens, pool, spa and restaurant. Recently, I found myself having to come to Rancho Santa Fe on business and was excited for another stay at the Inn. I made my reservation online without looking at the reviews. I reserved a Deluxe-King at the rate of $881.42 for a two-night stay. I trusted that my past experiences were perfect and my recollection was that this was a 4.5-star establishment. Boy... was that a mistake. Upon my arrival I IMMEDIATELY knew something was off. I arrived at the Inn and made my way to the reception desk and found the lobby, and all the adjoining rooms VERY dark and "out of sorts". It felt/looked like something was different but I couldn't put my finger on it. I checked in with Anthony at the front desk, he gave me my key and a map and I made my way to my room. My room was on the second floor of a building and had a flight of stairs leading up to the room. I was again, surprised by the appearance of the foliage... (or lack there of) surrounding the building where my room was located. The Inn has always been known for it's beautiful and lush gardens. I made my way up the stairs and immediately I knew something was amiss. The stairs were old, worn, and so so so dirty. When I reached my door I was shocked to find dirty glasses left in front of my door! I opened my door and found a sad, poorly lit room that gave off a musty odor. I looked around the room and smudges, scrapes, and scratches could be found on everything... the furniture, the walls, the floors. It was sad. My husband was on this trip with me and we discussed the terrible condition of the room and wondered if we should go back and ask for a better room. Immediately I looked up the reviews on Yelp and confirmed everything I had just experienced. The Inn has gone through several ownership changes and the employees and property are a complete mess. So, we decided to just stay put and in the morning ask Anthony in the front desk about the disrepair in the room/property. It was a HORRIBLE night. The 2' gap under the front door kept me up all night for fear that a mouse or bug of some kind might crawl into the room. I literally got up to tuck a towel under the door. Can you believe I had to do that in a room that's costing $400+ a night! The bed was lumpy and my husband and I sank into the center of the mattress. It was a sleepless night. In the morning we talked to Anthony at the front desk about the disrepair of the property and our room. Anthony explained that the property is "undergoing renovations". I asked him if he could tell me if our room was renovated or not. Anthony's response was interesting. Anthony explained that "this was an old hotel" and, renovations have occurred over the years at various stages. I told Anthony I appreciated his time. I told him I've visited over the years and NEVER has this property appeared as it does today. I told him my room was in very poor condition and that don't think it's representative of what the property has offered in the past. Anthony didn't have much else to offer by way of a room change or such so we wished him a good day and on we went. After breakfast we decided that we would finish our business in town that day and late afternoon drive back to Long Beach as we couldn't bare the thought of having to spend another sleepless night guarding the void under the door to ensure nothing made it's way into the room.

Yelp
The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe is the perfect spot for a rendezvous with your boo. The hotel grounds were kept in pristine condition. It's the kind of place that you'd go frolicking through. As a germaphobe, this hotel made me feel quite comfortable. It wasn't just because of their cleanliness, but that the rooms are like little casitas that are accessible from outside. As a result, we didn't have to share an elevator with anyone or even share a hallway with another guest. From time to time, I did see other guests outdoors, but we could all safely be socially distant. Our room gave me Southern bed & breakfast charm (minus the breakfast) more so than your run of the mill hotel room. And I was here for it! We even had a fireplace that really set the mood. My favorite part of the room was the bathroom - that's when I knew I had truly arrived! I loved soaking in the tub (yes, I use hotel bathtubs) and the shower had excellent water pressure. Come to The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe for a romantic weekend getaway or simply for some much needed self care.

Yelp
This place is wonderful. It is going through a complete transformation and updating of the rooms. Our room was newly remodeled and the bathroom was over the top. Our outdoor patio had a beautiful fireplace and was a wonderful place to relax and sip a cocktail. I enjoyed my stay so much, I booked to come back and bring my mom and sisters in a few weeks. The staff is very courteous and were eager to help in any way they could. The Marada Restaurant is a must visit, even if you are not staying at the hotel. During the day it is great to sit outside and dine overlooking the grounds. At night, they have beautiful booths inside the restaurant with a cozy fireplace.

Yelp
The location and property are beautiful. However, this is not a top notch resort, but an average inn. The furniture need updating. Some areas, including the room we got, require thorough cleaning. The shower window in our room was covered with mold. There were spider webs everywhere. The bed is not very comfortable. The hotel restaurant is also very average and definitely overpriced. The good points of this place are the spa and pool. We did a 50 minute relaxation massage and soaked in a copper tub which was great and very relaxing. Due to COVID they make you book your pool time in advance so we had the pool for ourselves for 2 hours which was very nice. Overall, although this place is not bad, it's not worth the price.

Yelp
I am being kind when I rate this as a one!!! Please see my review that I wrote on their web site. We spent a horrible ten days at this once lovely resort!!! No room service, restaurant closed 4 nights without any notice during our stay. Christmas Eve dinner horrible!!! And the sad thing is they don't care!!! Margi Braatz Our Stay Dec. 2022 to Jan. 2023 The only good thing about the Inn is the SPA.

Yelp
No valet (totally understandable), but nowhere to park to check in so we double parked. My wife waited in our running car. Check in was smooth. We were given a map and shown where to park. No parking there, so we drove around this huge property. Not a single available spot. We checked in at 4:30, so not super late or anything. I went back to the front desk. The lady was super exuberant about telling me that she was sorry, but provided me no solutions, except to point at places on the map and ask me if I tried here or there. There were no spots. That's a problem. So after looking around a little more and still finding nothing, I drove my super pregnant wife as close as I could to our room, found STREET PARKING, and hoofed it back to her. Not good... The bed was horrible. My back is still in pain a day later. I felt like I was going to roll off it. Super high in the middle and really depressed on the sides. Just awful. Totally unacceptable. No bottled water was provided for free or for purchase. My wife opened a plastic cup covered in plastic that was provided. It had some food debris in it somehow? Gross. Housekeeping came and knocked on our door in the morning to see if we had left yet. STOP DOING THIS! I received an email with the folio the next day. Thank god I checked. Somebody charged our room over $500 at the bar the previous night. I called them and they removed the charge. I told the lady that we were really unhappy with our stay and she removed the "resort" fee. Nice, but not enough. Pretty sure we won't be back.

Kirk J.

Yelp
The Spa was fantastic. I'm a regular massage client for 30 years and Maren gave me the best massage I've had in my life. A transforming and healing experience that I highly recommend.

Naomi H.

Yelp
Thia was strong, steady, rhythmic and confident. Will ask for her again. Got scrub / massage combination. Love the quiet haven of this intimate spa. If it had a sauna I'd like to move in! I found the treatment room snug so will opt for spacious couples room with private courtyard next time. Ivased on availability they do not require you to be a couple to luxuriate in that luxe treatment room. Friendly staff. Nice herbal tea in waiting area. Rustic grounds. Enjoy.

Yelp
My husband and I were sorely disappointed after our second stay here - and I mean that literally. The mattress was just awful. It had a giant lump in the middle, and was broken down on both sides. I woke up with a pinched nerve in each shoulder, and my husband with back pain. The hotel sent us a folio automatically charging us over $500 from their bar. We had not gone to the bar at all. Thank goodness my husband reviewed the folio carefully. And when I opened the cup that was wrapped in plastic, there were some crumbs or something in it. That's normally gross, but it is so much worse to think of how unhygienic this place is in light of coronavirus. The service is terrible. My husband called the front desk to report all these things. They removed the bar charge (obviously) but otherwise the response was "Sorry - sounds like housekeeping issues." They literally made no attempt to make things right. And the service when we arrived was just as bad. The hotel does not have enough parking to accommodate its guests. We drove all around the property looking for parking and could find none. My husband went to the front desk to ask for help, and they just said "Sorry!" - making no offer of help even though my husband mentioned that I am very pregnant. My husband ended up needing to find street parking a few blocks away. The hotel did not offer any help with our bags even though they have people driving all over in golf carts. My husband and I had one night alone since we had our first baby two years ago, and the only one we will get before having our next baby. Too bad we spent it here. What a disappointing and annoying experience.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here for a few nights for the first time. We loved it. The staff, the grounds, the room, etc. were outstanding and we had a fabulous time.

Charm M.

Yelp
Just enjoyed a fabulous massage with Ashley at the spa at Rancho Santa Fe Inn. Beautiful rooms and surroundings, friendly service and all the amenities! I spent some time in the relaxation room, nibbling on nuts and their tasty flavored water. Chose my aromatherapy and massage got underway. Ashley knows how to ease stress in your muscles! I will be returning for sure

Carole C.

Yelp
We girls sat on the patio and had a weekend lunch. The food is good, not great. We all had salads so it's hard to go wrong. But fresh and nice. The service is TERRIFIC. We never waited, we were served properly and without mistakes. This is a very pretty spot and I will bring friends back. They also did a nice job with covid restrictions.

Michael M.

Yelp
My wife stayed for one night. The inn is being remolded you pay premium price for bad Service would suggest you find any place but this. The facility was a Marriott property but sold now its the worst. Save your money and stay some were else. Give it one star so I can post but would it 0 stars if I could. You pay for 5 stars and get 0

Jonathan D.

Yelp
We looked forward to a nice dinner and live music , but it was too cold outside , so we had to give up on hearing the music and went inside the restaurant to eat. After ordering, we had to wait almost an hour just for our friends salad to arrive and then at least another 30 -35 minutes for my wife's salad and everyone's entrees to arrive. The mahi fish tacos were bland . i understand the chicken our friends had was satisfactory. The restaurants decor was nice but having to wait as long as we did combined with the unexciting food ,left us with a "bad taste " in our mouth. We don't plan on returning.

Riley T.

Yelp
The location of this resort is worth the price. They are impeccable when it comes to maintaining this establishment. The staff is a pleasure to interact with and is always willing to go out of their way to assist you with just about anything. The food does not disappoint & is also deserving of a 5 star review.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
My son and I are exploring different marriotts while in Cali. This one tops em so far. Definitely gana come back before we go back to Oahu.

Audrey M.

Yelp
RUINED CHRISTMAS EVE!!!!! My family was looking forward to this dinner, we had a RESERVATION at 5:45. and when we got there they couldn't fit us in. They tried seating us in the freezing outside, but obviously no one would want that. Especially 1 star to the hostess who seemed aloof and disappointingly rude

Christian J.

Yelp
What can't be said about this place. The location is amazing Tucked away in Rancho Santa Fe. The property itself is beautiful and is well kept. I was super elated to be met by a welcoming staff that was very warm and cordial and attentive to my needs. I was attending a conference here, and let's just say that it was well suited overall. A special shout out to Front desk staff Michael Porter, who effortlessly handled a situation for us.

J J.

Yelp
We stayed in celebration of my birthday. Everything and everyone was amazing. From Valet (Andy) to the front desk (Jenny) to the restaurant Morada (Tim and Jessica) we felt welcomed. This resort doesn't disappoint. Our room was stunning, relaxing and clean. It was nice sitting outside on our private patio enjoying the evening and beautiful scenery. We highly recommend staying here and enjoying all this resort has to offer.

Yelp
This unique property in Marriott's "Tribute Portfolio" is worth a visit. Be forewarned, it is not your traditional hotel. Rather, it's a hundred year old inn set on over 20 acres. Rooms and suites are within cottages around the property, most with a table and chairs outside under an overhang. There are central green spaces and old-growth trees, and deck chairs placed out among them for common use. The restaurant and bar are both open for take-away only due to the virus, and the pool is closed. I assume both will reopen fully once the crisis is over. A prior recent review mentioned dead plants, which I did not see at all. The walkways were beautiful with many flowering plants, all healthy. (I did notice a lot of gopher holes on the lawn though.) Despite the age of the cottages, the interiors are all modern, clean, and without mold or any other issues. Some have working wood fireplaces that you can actually use. Since each room/suite seems to be different, a call to make sure what you're reserving has what you want would be smart. The only con is that there isn't much recognition afforded to Marriott Bonvoy Elite members (I'm lifetime Platinum, 785 nights total). My Suite Night Award certificate was honored, and that's about it. Then again, this seems to be a brand-wide thing after the Marriott/Starwood merger. Gone are the days of surprise cheese plates in the room, or a bottle of wine, or a restaurant or bar credit. Starwood used these things to cultivate intense customer loyalty despite their limited number of properties; I guess mega-Marriott feels it doesn't need to do so. All in all, a wonderful property perfect for getting out of the city, with a unique feel and romantic features.

Joshua M.

Yelp
The Inn has never been a place to go if you are in a hurry. However, our most recent experience was the worst I've ever had. Two stakes and a crab cake undercooked. A five hundred dollar meal (for 6) with three items compt. I live in the Ranch and have come to this restaurant for many years. Since Jerome left there has been a constant down hill slide, each time I have been since, it has been a new low in terms of food and service.

Sean L.

Yelp
So disappointed with this hotel. BEWARE!! The actual property is not at all what the pictures depict online. Just a couple of unsightly things to note before booking this monstrosity: 1. The rooms smell awful, like musty gym socks. 2. The walls are paper thin, you can hear absolutely everything going on in your neighbor's room. 3. Since the property is dog friendly, the staff justify barking dogs as part of what you signed up for. 4. The place is like a labyrinth. Without a compass and map, you will find yourself lost in the winding pathways and sketchy alleyways for hours. The only positive thing to note is that when I called the front desk asking to leave and be refunded, they were quick to oblige. I think they know they are working at a sub-par establishment. You couldn't pay me to stay here again.

Kirk M.

Yelp
We sat in the bar for lunch and were basically ignored. We saw people go to the bar 4 different times to ask about their orders. A lot of standing around and the bartender wouldn't stop looking at her phone. My wife asked for lemon for her water then had to go to the bar to get it 10 minutes later. The wait staff didn't once come by to check on us, so, once again, we had to go to the bar to ask for a water refill. We expected much more for our $29(!!!) hamburgers (although they were tasty). Will not return.

Nicole W.

Yelp
My two best friends took me to this spa after my bachelorette party. As someone who frequents spas and get massages regularly I am always a little nervous to go to a new place. From the moment we pulled up to valet parking it was a great experience. All of the staff was well informed and attentive. My massage therapist Shelia was extraordinary. She communicated with me through out and her work was phenomenal. I plan to return ( definitely requesting Shelia ) with my fiancé . My friends were also thrilled with their masseuses were Ashley and Nicole. It was the perfect way to end my trip. Thank you !

Yelp
The cutest/coziest/ perfect place I've ever stayed at! I grew up in SD and always passed this place. Now that I don't live here anymore I HAD to stay here. The place is BEAUTIFUL, everything around you is green and so welcoming. We had a cottage away from the hotel and it felt like our own little home away from home. Our car was park right outside us so we didn't have to lug anything after checking in. The room was so cute. Has a fireplace, a kitchenette, and a big bathroom! They are PET FRIENDLY!!! There were dogs everywhere and I love hotels that let you bring your fur babies with you! There's great food places around but if you want to stay in the hotel their food is awesome!! Great breakfast menus! They have weddings here all the time and we were lucky enough to see one! So beautiful and perfect place for a wedding! I can't wait to come back to SD and stay here again!

Yelp
Beautiful hidden oasis, with extremely polite and friendly staff. Check in was a breeze. Valet parking was effortless and these gentlemen eagerly offered to help with directions and information. The lovely red-headed lady at check-in was so sweet, upbeat and pleasant- she should train all other staff at registration desks. She offered helpful tips and information, answered all of our questions with patience and was just a doll all around. The grounds were even more beautiful than we expected. Honestly, pictures just cannot do this hotel justice. This is a hotel that is meant to be enjoyed and not just used as a place to sleep. Absolutely beautiful inside and out. Plenty of space to roam and enjoy the gardens and beautiful unique flowers, trees and plants. The hot air balloons overhead, add a touch of whimsy while you're chilling on your own private patio. There are even umbrellas spread out across the hotel grounds in case of rain or too much sun, and so many adorable little photo ops like the saddle sitting outside of registration, 2 gorgeously decorated Christmas trees, and little hidden picturesque seating areas. We saw quite a few venue spaces that were set up for smaller events, and they looked really lovely and charming. The treat though... we just happened to arrive the same night as their annual Christmas event with a 6 pm tree lighting, santa claus, an ice skating rink, bouncy house and plenty of food and cocktails. We were thrilled with this because we brought our 3 year old and had wondered just how family-friendly the hotel would be. Well, you don't get more friendly than a bouncy house! Prices for the christmas event: you buy tickets ($5 each) and each activity/food costs a different amount of tickets. A picture with Santa was 2 tickets, a turkey sandwich 3 tickets. Not cheap, but an adorable and fun experience to kick off the Christmas month. The rooms. We had an upgraded 1 bedroom suite. Very large and beautiful, with a full size kitchen, living room with a wood fireplace (wood was waiting outside our room in the evening) and a lovely patio off the living room, with a view. There is a TV in the living room and in the bedroom. The bathroom is really large and the shower HUGE walking. Again, absolutely beautiful. Toiletries are their own brand and plenty of them. Plenty of towels. I can't wait to stay at this hotel again, and we are already talking about when we can return.

Yelp
Be warned...... you're paying for a fancy zip code and that's about it. A few highlights.... We requested and were approved for 12pm check-in. We were allowed into our room a little after 3. Asked twice by the waitress "oh, did you want to order something?" Told her both times "yes please." Twice we were told " be right back!" After nearly an hour we just walked into the bar and got our own 9 dollar beer. This place is well past it's prime in every sense of the word. You're paying way too much for something this bad. Don't say I didn't warn you! Your regret for paying all that money for nothing will haunt you!

Yelp
Update: Stayed here again a few weeks ago and it was a better experience. Management had reached out to me after my last stay and apologized for the terrible experience I had previously had. I decided to give the hotel another shot and this time it was lovely. We arrived around 1 after checking in thru the app for an arrival of noon. The lady working the front desk said our room wasn't quite ready but she could put us in another and moved some things around to get us in. Our room itself was very nice. Had a wood burning fireplace, do you ever see those anymore?! As I had mentioned in my previous review, this is a resort that has a historical feel about it. The room we stayed in this time was huge. It had a kitchen area that I suspect during non-covid times would have some dishes, cutlery, etc. Could the kitchen area use a minor revamp, sure, but does it really need it, no. It was a nice feature none the less. The bathrooms were huge, furniture nice and bed very comfortable. I would really describe the rooms as charming and cozy. We enjoyed it. We walked the grounds and sat in the beautiful white chairs they have on the grounds for hours and enjoyed the property. We ordered room service this time and it was excellent. Came when they said it would come and tasted great. We called for a log for the fire and that came promptly as well. We were also given a complimentary bottle of champagne and strawberries which was a very nice touch. After staying again I would say that the service has improved. The grounds are really beautiful here and I think that is really what we loved about our stay. After this latest experience I would recommend this hotel.

Yelp
Stayed in room 218 on Saturday 9/7/2017 for 12,000 SPG points and $25. Rooms are at least $249 on a Sunday night when paid for with cash and was supposed to be $349 on a Saturday night. You should set the bar high and have high expectations. // INTERACTIONS WITH STAFF // (+) PLUS EXPERIENCES Valet guy, courteous and straight to the point with directing me on the next step to check in. Waitress working at wedding event went out of her way to find out if I could use the fitness room during the wedding event. (-) MINUS EXPERIENCES Check-in counter "Anthony" was in defensive mode when I had ask for welcome points for SPG. He insisted that they did not exist. I hope you spend a bit more time with your employees to educate them about the service counter specifically for SPG. I did not feel very welcome. Get some tips from the W hotel, just call them and ask for advice. Waiter we asked to help guide us around the wedding reception going on just gave us poor directions. He could have taken a minute to walk us towards the right direction. Housekeeping management knocks on the door at 9:18am WTH man! Once you get a knock from them it's really difficult to go back to sleep. I had even specifically asked for late checkout, so where in the notes would it make sense to knock before 12am, or 9:18am? -- ABOUT MY STAY -- Parking is literally like 20 steps from the door. I can see my car from the cozy balcony. However, if you're an early sleeper, music can be heard from the common space they use for wedding receptions. The music stopped before 10pm. Room 218 is a spacious one bedroom apartment but does not have a kitchen like some of the photos on Yelp. It's fairly clean considering the age of the building. I saw the jacuzzi and pool in yelp photos and was convinced that Id have a pleasant stay here before my hike at "iron mountain." I booked the room and ignored the comment I saw about the jacuzzi being smelly. So when I checked out the jacuzzi, the surroundings smell. It isn't the chlorine water. There was a spider between the two pots as well. Lots is spiders at this place, so if you don't like spiders, don't come. The internet is unusable from my room because it's so slow. Overall, it was a decent stay if there was a more knowledgeable receptionist, a better kept jacuzzi, and housekeeping that did not knock so early. So essentially it was a service issue that I did not enjoy.

Yelp
I stayed here in order to attend a wedding I attended. First off, the rooms are lovely. The bed was comfortable and I was in a room with a great private patio area. The fitness room was also sufficiently stocked with equipment. My favorite thing was that the cardio machines had simulated environments you could run through, showing you avatars of other people who were on the same course. It made my run go by faster! I chose Tibet! The highlight was potentially the restaurant they have on property. I ate breakfast there twice and loved it. The French toast soufflé and hash browns were my two favorite things I tried. I'm particular about my hash browns and these blew me away. Perfectly crisp on the outside. Beyond the restaurant, the overall vibe of the hotel is gorgeous and it has lots of nice outdoor areas. The wedding was lovely as well. The highlight was the gorgeous flowers. I know they used a wedding planner on the property, but I'm unsure how much of it involved outside vendors. The meal was delicious, which is what matters most to me haha. Unfortunately, the room that they held the dinner in was not very attractive and detracted from the beautiful flowers and table settings for me. The carpet and light fixtures looked like a hotel conference room instead of a beautiful banquet hall. The colors in the room also make it hard to stay true to any sort of color scheme you are going for with your wedding as it has reds and yellows. Definitely worth staying here if you are considering and if you could do the wedding outside, it would be much more lovely than the inside location, in my opinion.

Yelp
Meh! If you are working remotely, choose another hotel. The grounds are very nice but the rooms and bathrooms weren't very clean, ie: mold in the tile grout and along the glass enclosure. The sink is cracked and the toilet paper holder on the wall is coming lose. The "in room" coffee machine didn't work. No robes were provided. Only one bar of soap in the bathroom......But the worst issue was the LACK OF WORKING INTERNET . Called an outside source twice, they couldn't fix it, then the property engineer couldn't figure out the problem. Manager didn't seem to care. I lost a day of work. Great! We're leaving- can't afford to miss work.

Yelp
NOTBA LUXURY RESORT!! Sorry to say that this resort has lost its charm, it's the little things that add up to an unpleasant experience!!! AC WAS BROKEN ( 93 degrees out) they brought a fan before offering to change our room! -Cobwebs on front door and on all patio furniture! -Black hair on bathroom floor (we are blond)!! -Pool reservations are impossible, so they tell you to keep coming back every 20 minutes is case people leave or don't show up for their reservation! - Napkins at lunch were filthy and stained! -Pool service ends at 5pm, we couldn't get new towels and then you have to go into restaurant to order anything, including ice! -Pool area is small and outdated, there should be more than 2 cabanas, and not with outrageous fees! -TV screens are very small for the size of the room -Map was very confusing and there are not clear signs of room numbers at the driveways

Yelp
This is a beautiful spot in San Diego. My husband and I came down for an appointment and the restaurant here was highly recommended. We loved it. Great service and food. You really feel transported to a destination outside of California.

Yelp
I checked in an hour ago and already hate this place. The front desk suggested a room in the main building saying it was recently remodeled so I took it. There were empty champagne glasses and ice bucket outside the door. No toilet paper. No soap. Had to request a do not disturb sign (unclear if it will come). The room also does NOT look recently remodeled and is very dingy with a loud wall AC unit. Not worth the money.

Yelp
A perfect escape and a wonderful luxurious beautifully landscaped property (while my toilet is being replaced) -I would recommend to anyone! Delicious food, fantastic staff and extremely accommodating! Probably a really beautiful place to get married!

Yelp
Needs some TLC. I picked one of their "nicer" rooms that includes a private patio with seating and an outdoor fireplace. For one, the room didn't seem that clean. Why do I see footprints in the bathtub and grime on sink handles? This is supposed to be increased COVID cleaning? Not all the shower heads worked, there's no included "bathrobes and slippers" like the description says, not all the lights in the room work, and internet is in and out. Want to soak in the nice big soaking tub? The plug doesn't work so think again. I called the front desk with these issue and she kind enough to compensate us and move us to the room next door. The room next door has intermittent water temperature control in the shower. One second it's warm then next it's burning hot. The bathroom lights stay on for a few minutes, then turns off, then turns on again. The pool is supposed to feel heated but doesn't feel that way. The pros? The grounds are beautiful. It's far from the hustle and bustle of the city. You pay for the upkeep of the grounds but not so much the upkeep of the rooms. The rooms are definitely missing some TLC. While it's beautiful for an event like a wedding, the rooms just aren't as great as the grounds. But the staff were very helpful, kind, and did all they can do to make our stay more accommodating given the issues.

Yelp
We love the place!... except the bartender has been very rude... if your not a sexy young person then forget going to the bar... we have been here two nights now ... the service other than the rude guy bartender... has been amazing... if they get rid of him everything would be a 10...we just walked across the street and had a really good time...thank goodness for the amazing bartenders across the street... save our weekend

Yelp
im so sad writing this because we have been to the Inn for spa treatments, 2 birthday dinners, 1 brunch and 1 three day stay all in the past 5 years; but last nights Thanksgiving "meal" was almost a comedy of errors only it wasnt really that funny and errors is polite. From our arrival at 4pm to our departure at 7pm we were left speechless at the horrific service, undercooked food, hours of waiting between ordering and receiving, lazy/amateurish food presentation, and just generally overall the worst dining experience we've ever had in which we still spent hundreds of dollars. The service rarely checked on our table, provided cold / hard bread basket 45 minutes after our order was placed; charged the wrong amounts on our bill, brought blue-rare duck when medium was ordered, brought cold filets, brought shrimp thrown on a piece of lettuce for the 'prawns' appetizer, the turkey entree (pre-fixe) was worse than eating a baseball. The fried brussel sprouts were decent, but the lone bright spot in an otherwise horrifically poor performance of food, and service. Management did what it could when we raised the issue 3x over the 1.5hrs but we wouldve gladly paid full price and not had the issues we had. Having a 5yr old and 3 yr old as well as two 75 yr olds made us a bit more impatient but an 1.5hr wait from order to entree is extreme, no matter who is dining (imho). For anyone reading this, maybe this is a one time thing, maybe it was due to the 'special event' and the hotel wasnt prepared, maybe its labor/supply issues, I dont know, but for sake of my sanity, I had to write this up and hope/pray these issues are solved in the future. Im not bitter, im kind of laughing at how bad it really was the next morning, but I feel like writing this out is helping me sort through spending hundreds of dollars on the worst dining experience of my life.

Yelp
We just enjoyed a lovely 2 night stay at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. Having stayed several times at Aviara (both when it was run by the Four Seasons and as a Hyatt) as well as at the Rancho Bernardo Inn, I'll admit I was nervous when we drove up that it would measure up. After upgrading from a deluxe King to a Premier King room, we settled into a beautiful (and large!) room in the Magnolia cottages (401). One of the best parts was the amazing real firewood fireplace. The Inn supplies a starter log and plenty of mesquite/hickory(?) wood. It was so amazing and made the room smell divine. We enjoyed the large patio and lawn. In a surreal moment, we were visited by several low flying hot air balloons! Amazing. We were entertaining family with children and enjoyed quite a bit of time by the pool with lovely poolside food & bev service, especially by Marco and David. The pool is small but there's plenty of room (no fighting for chaise lounges) and you're well cared for. We scarfed down several flatbreads as well as a really tasty nacho dish. Adults enjoyed cool beverages during the day. Later, when the sun was going down and the weather cooled, we retired to our room and ordered Leucadia pizza and watched movies in front of the fire in one of my favorite family moments of all time. We didn't get to eat in the restaurant itself or try the spa services but have it on our list for next time. The lobby is tastefully designed and smells like heaven. The decor is equestrian chic. My nieces and I take horseback riding lessons so we got a kick out of the curtain tie-backs at the pool cabanas which were made from tack (bits!). The grounds are immaculately kept and the gardens are beautiful, especially the variety of roses. We can't wait to plan our next stay.

Yelp
The Inn at Rancho Sante Fe was not worth the money we spent to stay there. We booked a stay in their Premier Suite, so we had very high expectations. The location is beautiful, and the grounds are well kept. Walking the grounds was the highlight of our stay. The front desk had very friendly and inviting employees. Other than that, the inn did not provide a very good stay. The 1000 square foot suite did not utilize it's space well. It was awkwardly laid out, and there was a lot of wasted space. There is a huge empty area in the bedroom, with a reading area facing the bathroom door. It was awkward. The Master bathroom is a very good size, but the Towels and towel racks were set on the opposite side of the room from the shower. The Layouts were poorly designed and inefficient. Our patio area was filthy! We didn't want to sit on the cobwebs and dirt all over the furniture. Other than the front desk, service was not great. The restaurant had terrible service. Our first night we didn't get to the hotel until 8:30pm. The front desk told us the restaurant closed at 10pm. However, the restaurant host seemed like she was annoyed that we were sitting down at 9:15pm. She was not welcoming. When we told her that we'd only order drinks and dessert she calmed down. The waitress was ok, but not attentive. If I were to only rate the restaurant, it would get 2 stars. We were much younger than most of the clientele, but enjoyed the calm break from the city. It was a very relaxing place to stay. However, for the price we paid, I expect a lot more.

Yelp
When visiting San Diego I usually stay at a competing luxury resort, which was full. I stayed under a midweek promotion 3 for 2 nights deal. Hotel: The hotel staff are great, energetic and friendly people. The rooms are spacious and luxurious. The pool is nice, and the landscaping is mature. However, the parking lot I was assigned was always full. Front desk is way overworked those poor people are saints that are too busy. There was frequently a wait to speak to staff. Staff should be more accessible. Bar: Bartenders are great personable people that are overworked because they have to provide room service as well. As a result, they can be hard to find. Hire someone to handle the room service. One night in the Huntsman I waited half hour. Starting to see a trend in overworked staff. Restaurant: Ambiance is spectacular, with balloons flying over the property. However, it's like many places with great ambiance, that also have overpriced portions and poor service. The staff are nice people, unfortunately, the service was worse than slow, it was terrible. The only bright spot was that I and my guest were always seated quickly. After that, glacial pace. No one ever offered to refill my coffee and rarely my water. Long wait to get a menu, to order, and to see a staff person. They made customers wait while they bantered about their off-duty activities. These discussions among the staff should take place behind closed doors, and never, ever in the presence of customers. Especially customers waiting for service. Staff may be overworked, they are certainly untrained. The blame for the poor service falls squarely on the manager. The portions were tiny and quite dear. Three scallops, with three half spears of asparagus. $32. I am trying to upload the picture of this plate and ask the restaurant, ho can you price this at $32? Yelp rates this place only three $$$, yet at more then $10 a scallop its the most expensive scallop ever. Thoroughly disappointed at each of four meals and a dinner party I had at the restaurant. Never again.

Yelp
If you can afford it you won't be disappointed. Classic bygone era charm in a most perfect setting. Small private charming gem.

Yelp
Love this hotel. Rooms are super cozy and it's fun seeing all the different room types. I've stayed 20+ times for work and pleasure trips and am always so happy. Everyone is super engaged and willing to make guests comfortable. Tried the spa for the first time and I highly recommend.

Yelp
Beautiful Grounds ....... quiet & intimate, did I say quiet . I'm very happy w/ the staff thus far.Everyone was beyond friendly, we plan to return w/ the rest of our adult family. The rooms were decorated as to the theme of the resort setting. (the beds were most comfortable) and the Bathrooms were exceptionally clean.

Yelp
Until I was invited to my friend's wedding, I had never heard of the town of Rancho Santa Fe, though I've been to Escondido and Solana Beach a few times. Who knew this inn was even here? The inn is really cute and has several sets of cottages. You could valet or look for a parking spot near your cottage; we were lucky and didn't have to valet our entire time staying here. We were placed in the Rose Cottages which were a short walk from the lobby. Our room had a fireplace, patio and a super comfortable king bed. I did not want to get out of bed AT ALL. And I need to find out where they get their pillows from, it's just amazing. The shower has the rainfall shower head which always feels luxurious and the amenities were really good quality. There is some noise if your neighbors are entering/exiting as the doors are not quiet. The bathroom door was also SUPER heavy to push and pull so maybe a different handle is what needs to be done? I did find a lot of dust on the clock radio and the handset for the telephone, as well as some light colored bobby pins so I'm not sure how thorough the cleaning is. Plus our clock was set to 10 hours in the future without a way to reset it. We visited the fitness room and it was large enough for 6-8 people to workout though it can feel a bit cramped. I did like the treadmills as it gave you some cool walking/running trails to visit. And there is nice cold water in here. The venue lends itself to a rustic wedding beautifully. We had events all over the property. The wedding was on the main lawn and you could have it set up so that the town and cars are behind you or with a garden view. The smaller lawn held a cocktail hour on the grass and the dinner was in a larger lawn. Remember heel protectors or wedges, ladies! I didn't love the food at the wedding which was a surprise since the food in the restaurants was divine. It was plated lovely though. And the bistro lights were so charming. With the outdoor wedding, we could see the hot air balloons in the sky which added a touch of whimsy. I would stay here again for the food and the bed. It was a nice getaway from OC. There are some very curvy roads leading to the resort so that may leave you car sick.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite neighborhood assets. Pre-Covid times they hosted many a fabulous Christmas, Halloween, Hanukkah, and King's Day Party. The food at the restaurant is really yummy. Some of the best crab cakes ever. And just overall good vibes.

Yelp
The staff at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe do an excellent job with visitors. Professional and caring to every need or whim. Visited The Inn with several members of a bridal party. Our out of town guests were blown away. Making this a regular event on my schedule.
