The 15 Best Places for Pasta in the Twin Cities

"One of the few restaurants to be found in Minneapolis’ leafy Kenwood neighborhood, abutting Lake of the Isles, the Kenwood is known for its bustling weekend brunch service. But the housemade pastas are equally worthy of attention, like a briny pappardelle nero with smoked mussels. The bucatini carbonara is topped with whisper-fine shreds of parmigiano reggiano, curls of rendered bacon, and a single, sunshine-yellow egg yolk, which all emulsify into a silky sauce with the swirl of a fork." - Julie Yu

12 Twin Cities Restaurants Where the Views Match the Food

"The Kenwood doesn’t sit atop a skyscraper or even opposite a city park, but there’s something charming about the quiet streetscape beyond its picture windows. Come for a summer brunch and catch views of the Lowry Hill neighorhood’s Victorian mansions over an omelette Florentine or pancakes with pistachio butter." - Justine Jones, Eater Staff

The 10 Best Brunch Restaurants In Minneapolis

"The Kenwood has iron chandeliers, framed oil paintings, and plaid wallpaper, so naturally, you’ll feel like the lady of the manor while cutting into the fluffy pancakes with pistachio butter. You might need some time to digest the Italian eggs benedict made using pieces of focaccia and topped with housemade porchetta, arugula, and Calabrian chili hollandaise, but it’s absolutely going to fuel you for the rest of the day. But don’t overlook a vegetable-centric option like the English pea soup on the seasonal menu because they’re often sleeper hits. " - stacy brooks

The Best Gluten Free Restaurants in Minneapolis and St. Paul | Eater Twin Cities

"Located just a couple of blocks from Lake of the Isles, this tartan wallpapered restaurant is wonderfully serene from breakfast through dinner. Gluten-free options abound from the knock-out huevos rancheros in the morning to the mussels in pistou broth midday and Skuna Bay salmon in the evening. The menu changes often, but there are always several selections to choose from at each meal. There’s even a grilled steak on the kids menu for little folk that have sensitivities." - Joy Summers

Google
I ordered Turkish eggs. It was so successful. I am Turkish and this recipe is called “çılbır”. It was so close to my mom’s recipe. I like the sauce and I like fresh mints and dills. I really enjoyed it! Definitely come back!

Google
Amazing brunch spot in a beautiful location. The pistachio butter pancakes were light and fluffy with a delicious nutty twist. The Kenwood burger was fantastically prepared with a fried egg, Gruyère cheese, and thick cut pork belly.

Google
Oh me oh my. This has to be the best restaurant off Penn and 21st Avenue here in the beautiful city Prince built. Lord have mercy. The burger with a fried egg sent me to cloud 12 and back. The only reason the service is 4 star material is because my friend did not get his 2nd sprite. Other than that, 8.98/10.00. Would love to come for brunch one day too

Google
I ordered the hanger steak well done, but received meat with blood, I think it was medium well… The steak was also a bit tough (I know how it must be even for cooked well done) I can’t say that I’ll be back to this restaurant. The restaurant inside have bad smell, it smelled as very old rag, that was use for a years. I don’t know what smelled, but it wasn’t my table (I checked it 😂)

Google
Food was wonderful, especially the pistachio butter pancake! Chicken chilaquiles dish was also excellent. Rustic modern vibe inside was quite pleasant. Unfortunately, our server was a bit scattered and slow to fulfill requests. Most slowness can be forgiven, but we asked for the check and it took 5+ minutes. When a table asks for the check, that really should be one of your top priorities, especially in a place as small as the Kenwood. It did not ruin our experience, and I did enjoy our time here!

Google
The Kenwood is one of my favorite spots in town. The environment is cozy, and is a neighborhood spot. I recently went for brunch, and it was Phenomenal! We had the Kenwood burger with pork belly, which was cooked to perfection. The focaccia eggs Benedict with porchetta was divine, and the flavors complimented one another very well. Lastly, we shared one pancake with pistachio butter and it was amazing as well. Our server was attentive, and gave us time to enjoy our meal and conversation. Highly recommend!

Google
We had a beautiful Sunday morning family brunch here. The pancakes were so fluffy and satisfyingly large. The pistachio butter was what made the pancakes stand out. The squash soup was perfect for the season, warm and comforting. The staff was genuinely nice and thoughtful, bringing plastic cups and coloring materials for the kids without us having to request it. Definitely recommend!

Google
I slept on this gem of a neighborhood restaurant for far too long. What a beautiful, cozy restaurant in the Kenwood neighborhood. Free street parking and relaxed restaurant. The food here is excellent, every dish received rave reviews from the table. The seasonal soup, a bisque was outstanding, the housemade focaccia was a great complement to the soup. The french fries were a nice shareable item. The Bucatini Carbonara was the star of the show with an egg and thick chunks of bacon and parmesan, made for a rich buttery, creamy dish. So excellent. Others at the table raved about their Lamb Osso Buco and Foie Grax Ravioli. The cocktails were solid. Several at the table enjoyed the ice cream and affogato, the cookie was a pleasing end to the meal. What a great spot to come with a small group to enjoy a quiet meal with attentive service, in a intimate, relaxed dining environment.

Yelp
Been meaning to come here for a couple of years (I run or bike by it often); finally jumped in for brunch. 1) Omelette béchamel aux champignons: best omelette I've ever had, world-wide; 2) French fries w/calabrian chili mayo: best I've had outside of Belgium. Crazy fresh ingredients including top-drawer butter for the eggs. Perfect doneness. Also really good coffee. Next time, dinner!

Yelp
Every time I walk around Lake of the Isles near meal time with friends we stop by The Kenwood. It has reliable food in the neighborhood.

Pakou L.

Yelp
A group of us had their brunch and everything was delicious and staff was very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend getting one pancake to Cher because they are the most fluffy pancakes ever have. Next time I'll have to try out their dinner menu. It's in a residential neighborhood tucked away with only on-street parking so plan ahead.

Yelp
It's truly a neighbor gem! There isn't a massive menu but I won't get tired of anything on it. Love their home made pasta and focaccia. Burger is great too. The menu changes seasonally. I was very impressed by the WILD ACRES DUCK in my recent visit. Knowing duck dish isn't easy to cook, theirs is soft, juicy and tasty, the best duck I've had so far in Minneapolis. Just like their ad says, "Dishes that can take you outside your comfort zone - or bring you back to it"! Servers are very friendly, we never had one bad experience.

Yelp
Visited 5/26/23. This place gets 5 stars for the pancakes alone. So fluffy with delicious pistachio butter, would definitely recommend. Visited for Sunday brunch with a few friends. We made a reservation in advance and were seated right upon arrival. Got lattes with oat milk to start and these were decent (coffee on the slightly pricier side so we went with lattes instead). I got the Benedict and my friends got omelets-one with a side of potatoes and one with a side of greens. Overall, prices were slightly steeper for the portions, but everything was really solid and the place itself was super cute. Would love to come back for dinner sometime.

Yelp
Best pancake ever! Everything on the menu looked delicious so it was hard to choose. Definitely don't skip the pancake though. I'll be back to try more. It's a bit busy and a bit noisy for brunch but definitely worth it. Service was quick despite how busy they were. Street parking was relatively easy to find just around the corner.

Yelp
The Kenwood perfectly matched my expectations. After starting with the "House-Made Focaccia" and the "Baby Gem Salad", I knew I was in for more goodness. None of the food here feels heavy. The menu here has great variety and refreshing preparations that put an exciting twist on classic Italian dishes. The Arctic Char was cooked to perfection- atop a wonderfully creamy tabbouleh salad. The "Rigatoni" was outstanding. I was hesitant about the chicken sausage in it, as I'm not the biggest fan of this meat, but it absolutely made the dish. Finishing with the Brown Butter Cookie ice cream was the best decision I could have made. A clean and intimate atmosphere, friendly staff, and cool neighborhood made for a great night. Recommend!

Yelp
What a wonderful spot in a beautiful location! The staff are so kind and everyone is very helpful with answering questions. Went here for brunch and it was a very enjoyable time! The food is very high quality and every time I go it's the same level of service and food quality. Highly recommend! I got the ricotta toast that was exactly what I was wanting! My fiancé got the breakfast burger and I think it was one of the best burgers I have ever had! The fries were a little on the salty side for me but I won't complain about that! The meat was so tender and juicy! Will go back for that!!

Yelp
Sunday 1:30 Parking. Check. Alfresco. Check. Service. Check. Cocktails. Check. The Food Top notch quality here. Ordered the Pancakes with a side of fruit. Our food arrived promptly and I was happy to see the tallest stack of pancakes ever. Counted three. These are served with a dollop of pistachio butter on top along with two servings of maple syrup! The first bite told me everything. A perfect balance of fluffy and firm with a very good scratch made taste. I've had cakes all over and have not found a better one. A Bonus. NO powdered sugar on top! Oh sorry, no pics. They were gorgeous though.

Yelp
Went here for a Mother's Day brunch on a business trip with a colleague. House Bloody Mary and mimosa were good, food was tasty, service and outdoor seating were just the right vibe. Enjoyed our visit.

Yelp
Loved that their brunch menu was simple with not too many options to choose from, but everything offered still looked very delicious. The Kenwood had great service and a fun location among the nice neighborhood north of the Lake of the Isles and has an awesome indigenous book store next door! I had the banana bread (not pictured unfortunately) and it was probably the best banana bread I've ever had, especially with their delicious salted whipped butter. I also ordered the focaccia benedict as well and I thought the focaccia brought the perfect texture and more in place of an English muffin, as it was flavorful and paired delightfully with the porchetta and poached eggs. Highly recommend this experience to anyone!

Yelp
Good spot for breakfast in a cute, quiet neighborhood. Really enjoyed the patio. Staff was super friendly. Simple menu. Good food. The huevos rancheros were good but it was a little heavy on the pork.

Yelp
A friend brought us here for lunch today - nice atmosphere for outdoor dining. However, the chef's omelette, which we were told had chanterelle mushrooms today, unfortunately had various tasteless grey and white mushrooms but no golden chanterelles at all. Maybe our server was misinformed about the omelette of the day? I've never sent back a dish in my life, but this one I definitely would have sent back had it not been for the sake of my friend who picked the restaurant. I did quietly mention to our waitress (who was otherwise good) that there didn't seem to be any chanterelles in the chanterelle omelette, but she didn't react. Very disappointed.

Yelp
I arrived here right as dinner was beginning, and got seated quickly at the bar area. It was nice due to the front cooks and hostess and servers all checking in with me and being friendly. The environmental inside and out was super inviting, outside was relaxed and the road was super busy. The food was good, I got the chicken and ricotta meatballs, French fries (kid size due to being solo) and a latte. The latte was phenomenal! The meatballs were good but imo would do well being a bit smaller with teeny bit of pasta or something else. The fries were good served with chili aioli. Overall i would come back, and I'd be curious what actual entree sizing would be. The staff made this place.

Yelp
What a pleasant brunch! The Kenwood is a charming neighborhood bistro with really high quality food in a charming setting. A friend and I tried out their brunch menu this past Sunday. I love that I was able to make a reservation, as I'm too damn old to wait 90 minutes for eggs. I ordered the focaccia benedict with added mushrooms, my friend ordered avocado toast, and we split a pancake. I also ordered a Diet Coke, and the only minor pet peeve I have is that they brought a can, instead serving fountain soda with refills. The benedict was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend adding mushrooms, they were super flavorful and paired really well with the porchetta and hollandaise. I'm very grateful our server recommended we split a pancake instead of ordering one each, as their pancakes could be established as small countries. It might be the biggest single pancake I've ever seen. The pistachio butter it came with was astoundingly good, and the pancake itself was fluffy and surprisingly light considering its girth. Our server was lovely and no one seemed to mind that my friend and I were enjoying a very leisurely meal. The Kenwood's got a great vibe. Very mellow, laid back, but still serving top notch meals. It really reminds me of Gus Gus, but with more space and light. Also, I LOVE the bookstore that's right next door. My perfect Sunday afternoon: a lovely brunch, and then I get to buy my weight in books. Can't wait to come back with the hubs for dinner!

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! Right when you walk in you get a view of the kitchen and every thing on the inside just feel upper class. All the food was also incredible. Everything was flavored perfectly. Our server was also very nice and helpful when it came to our orders and our drinks were never empty.

Yelp
The Kenwood's reputation preceded it with so much good rave reviews. What a lovely brunch location in a quaint neighborhood. This restaurant had such an air of British elegance. The simple menu made it easy to narrow down my choices. First, I ordered the banana bread, then I could not help but choose the Wild Mushroom Hash with scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese. To add to the feast, I ordered green tea and Pelligrino to have a movktail mimosa. The red tea cup was absolutely adorable. Sitting outside on the patio was just perfect. The surrounding neighborhood with its charm just added to the whole appeal of the enjoyable brunch. Note for future reference from our waiter told us the pancakes are quite large and one pancakes is oversized enough for two people. So for future reference she said be ready to share if we decided to order them.

Yelp
Quaint family friendly restaurant. I appreciate the kids menu with scratch mac and cheese, homemade burgers, cooked carrots and fruit. There is also. playground across the street.

Yelp
New American spot in a quaint neighborhood. Came here for a big group brunch (12 people) at noon and we had a reservation made beforehand. Indoor and outdoor dining available. Everyone working was super friendly. Gender-neutral single occupant restrooms are available in the back righthand side of the restaurant. Credit cards accepted. They do serve alcohol (including mimosas). We were told that the egg Benedict was one of the most popular things to get. The breakfast potatoes were crispy and they came as a side. The chicory salad was a bit bitter but there was a ton of finely grated cheese atop the greens.

Yelp
I visited the Kenwood Restaurant for brunch last Sunday with a large group and had a great time! Would highly recommend for a conveniently located spot by the lakes. FOOD: The brunch options were unique and reasonably priced! I ordered the banana bread to start, which was super tasty and served with butter with flakey salt. I also ordered the focaccia Benedict, which was amazing! I added wild mushrooms to mine, which I really enjoyed. My favorite part was the pickled red onions on top, they were the perfect garnish. AMBIANCE: Although this place is small, it doesn't feel cramped! High ceilings and classic woodsy decor made this place feel both cozy and airy. SERVICE: The service was excellent - our table was ready immediately at our reservation and we received our food promptly with no errors despite the large size of our group. I was very impressed! PARKING: No parking lot, but street parking is fairly easy to find along the residential streets nearby. Plus the area is beautiful to walk around in, so a little bit of a walk to the car is enjoyable!

Yelp
We went to the Kenwood on a cold December night, and were greeted with fresh flowers on our table. Very nice touch in the middle of winter. Our waiter was an older fellow who gave us good suggestions on what to try. I tried duck for the first time and unfortunately, do not think I like it. My husband thought it was fine, so I guess it's just me.

Yelp
I don't enjoy brunch in minneapolis because I never believe I can get top tier service and great food. It was always an either or for me. I went here as a last minute decision with my girlfriend and I was so glad I tried something new! It's in a cozy location that doesn't look like much from the outside but when you walk in. It feels like you're stepping into an old manor. So cute. We ordered the banana bread to start and two lattes which were beyond!!! We split the huevos rancheros (this was so delicious) and the pancakes! The pancake literally gave me goosebumps! It was perfectly crispy on and also fluffy on the inside. It didn't feel stuffy in my mouth. I forgot to add syrup and it was soo good. It comes with pistachio butter which is the perfect combination of salt to balance the sweet syrup. It's definitely the star of the show. All in all. The service, food ,ambience was amazing and I will be back!

Yelp
Came here for brunch with a big group of friends and it was so good!! They were very accommodating of the big group and patient, which is greatly appreciated. Food was also great! Some of my friends got the banana bread and it was so warm and came with a pat of butter. I got the Eggs Benedict with avocado and a latte. My fav part was the bread because it was so crunch and absorbed the eggs so well. Parking is a little tricky in this area and I personally would always make a res because it's a smaller space.

Yelp
I wish I could give ten stars for our recent experience! Some of the best food and service I've had lately, all thanks to the Kenwood chef team. My parents were in town for lunch and we wanted something we could walk to from around Lake of the Isles. I'd never been to Kenwood and it's been on my list for ages, so we walked there from around the lake. Once we arrived, I mistakenly realized they are just open for pickup/takeout for lunch on weekdays and that the brunch is only on the weekends. The door was open, so we walked in and were greeted by the chef, I believe his name is Kieran. Instead of turning us away, he let us know they were open for takeout currently and offered to take our order right then and there and have us sit out on the patio. At the time we walked in, he was the only one there - and made time to make sure we had an excellent experience. He even recommended a few dishes in particular for us to try - straight from the chef, people! We each got a cup of the mushroom soup and split the cucumber salad and the chicken meatballs. He took our order inside, and brought it right out to us when it was ready. We set up our takeout goodies on the quaint sidewalk patio and enjoyed the quaint neighborhood just a block off of Isles. And the food? Spectacular. The mushroom soup was rich and creamy, the meatballs were massive and saucy, and the cucumber salad wowed us - we aren't usually huge cucumber fans but it was a hit with us! On our way out, we stopped back in to thank the chef his team for welcoming and serving us. Oh, and the inside is absolutely stunning! I'd always been meaning to come here after hearing rave reviews, and now, they've made a loyal fan out of me, too. Service, location, and food all 5/5!

Yelp
Came here to have a nice brunch girls date. The vibes were perfect since it was also a bit cooler that day. The sweet corn soup really hit the spot and the focaccia eggs Benedict was delicious! Waiter even recommended adding avocado which in my opinion is the only way to do it. I didn't give it a fully five stars partially because the waiter we had, although nice, was a bit slow. It felt like our table was being avoided as we saw our waiter attending to the tables around us. We waited about 30 minutes until they finally came back and then proceeded to say "wave me down when you're ready" which at that point we had been ready for over 20 minutes. Left a slightly bad taste in our mouths but I still think worth it to go and try out. Maybe our waiter was just having an off day.

Yelp
This place has amazing reviews and always comes up on top when I open Yelp, but I had not had the chance to visit until last week. My partner's mother was in town visiting and she wanted to impress her with a nice brunch so we stopped by The Kenwood. Their brunch menu was surprisingly small and almost all pork and her mother doesn't eat pork so we should have probably checked that out ahead of time. However, things worked out cause she was in the mood for a burger! I opted for the banana bread and huevos rancheros. The banana bread was soft and moist, and a super yummy way to start off my morning. The huevos rancheros were the perfect complement to the banana bread. They were a little spicy, super tender, and the potatoes were delicious. I highly recommend this dish for breakfast! Would definitely stop by here again!

Yelp
Decent food, but crowded and noisy. We went here for brunch on Sunday, and while the food and wait staff was good, the restaurant itself was incredibly noisy and crowded. We were two people at a table and it was difficult to have a conversation because of the noise, and worse, I was getting rammed into constantly. The wait staff managed to negotiate the chairs fine, but the food servers, water person, and other guests kept running into me. After the third time getting slammed into by the person with the pitcher, I finally asked them to please be careful, and they looked at me with surprise, as if they had done nothing wrong. This was with me scooted in right next to the table, but still, even that close, I couldn't hear my friend speak. Food was decent by the potatoes were way too salty. I do not see myself ever going back.

Yelp
Always a nice evening to be in this neighborhood restaurant with good food and a good vibe. I've always been a fan of the wallpaper and the cozy feel but for some reason tonight with good friends it all came together. A great meal with halibut, pasta, a salad and a soup and bread starter. I was not a fan of the cold pea soup, but my table mates loved it. The pasta had mushroom, kale and leek and Parmesan and was very tasty. Easy parking and good service made this a great night. We will be back.

Yelp
I highly recommend the Kenwood, and regret not coming here sooner! My first visit was for brunch and it was perfect. The ambiance was nice and bright and you could just feel that this place is beloved by the local community. I got the benedict, which was so good! Really enjoyed the calabrian chili hollandaise. We also got some banana bread to share, which was a perfect little bite of sweet to accompany the meal. The only downside to brunching here is that they only offer beer & wine... I am a fierce Bloody Mary advocate! I didn't have the heart to try their bloody which uses sake, but I'm sure it's fine if you're less of a purist (boozebag?) than me. I came back about a month later for dinner with my parents, who were visiting from out of town. Sometimes my mom gets a little overwhelmed with overly saucy or decadent meals, but this place was perfect for them-- a simple, easy-to-understand menu with high quality ingredients. The flavor of the potato leek soup was SO good, but it was a little cold which was a bummer. I also tried the burger a pasta dish, both were delightful. Service is always very kind and attentive. You should go here!

Yelp
Sublime little place in an adorable neighborhood, best part constant perfection! Service great, nothing much else to say

Yelp
Food was probably a 4/5. Service was little to none (3/5). A cute little brunch spot in the Lake of Isle neighborhood with its hustle and bustle. We made reservations a week prior and were seated immediately. They take a limited number of reservations regardless of size and the rest are for walk-ins. Ordered - Huevos Rancheros (4/5). This was a beautifully plated dish and tasted delicious. The squeezed lime added a light touch to a semi-heavy dish. Service was not so great. Our server did not make any rounds for water refills and barely made his rounds to our table. All good but when the tip surcharge is 20%+, you would expect more... That said, Kenwood was a nice place and we were glad to check another brunch spot on our list!

Yelp
Love the look and feel of this neighborhood jewel. Wonderful windows with lovely light. Food is fresh and has many layers of flavor which always brings us back. The heirloom tomato and peaches salad is no longer available due to seasonal changes and was amazing. Brought us back when our daughter flew in. Service is attentive. There is a 10% for the back room which is no problem but appears to be bothersome to other reviews. We will be back.

Yelp
The food and service were excellent, the ambience, as always was comfortable. I love that they serve Dogwood coffee, my all time favorite.

Yelp
Cute neighborhood restaurant, now serving cocktails! Made a reservation on a Friday night and was seated promptly. Service was attentive and the food was delicious. Perfect Friday date night in a cozy atmosphere.

Yelp
Their breakfast was fantastic. The eggs Benedict was very tasty. It is a small place. I like the homeyness of the place. It is tucked away in the neighborhood. The people in that area are so fortunate to have a tasty place like that to go down to.

Yelp
Made reservations for breakfast/brunch to bring our family. This is my 2nd time eating at The Kenwood and both visits, did not disappoint. The service was excellent, no Covid excuse here, at least not today. Our waiter was knowledgeable, consistent and we always had coffee in our cups. For breakfast entrees, my boyfriend ordered the pancakes, they look as amazing as they taste and they are definitely something to share! Large stack of three cakes come topped with pistachio butter, really a nice compliment. Did I mention the bacon? Yum, nice thick pieces cooked perfectly. I ordered the Florentine omelette which may not be for everyone, the Chèvre cheese is a bit poignant but I loved it. Omelette is put together nicely and served with a side of rosemary potatoes. Afterwards, we walked over to Birchbark Books, which is right next door. Parking is off street and can be challenging in the winter or on busy days.

Janice L.

Yelp
Delicious and beautiful roasted beet salad! Flavors of beets, orange, ricotta, and walnut dukkah were perfect together. I would have liked a larger serving. A few slices of the ciabatta my friend ordered rounded out the meal. Claire provided excellent service for this Tuesday late lunch. Highly recommend.

Chris W.

Yelp
Offering a pleasant ambiance, commendable service, and satisfactory cuisine, this neighborhood restaurant holds promise. Regrettably, a drawback emerges when diners encounter a 10% surcharge (erroneously spaced as "sur charge") upon meal completion, a move that I believe does a disservice to both patrons and servers. The food was generally satisfying, though not exceptional--excluding the standout brown butter chocolate chip cookies, which were truly delightful.

Yelp
I've been there and to the market that lived in that space hundreds of times in the past few decades. Pulled pork sandwiches are great. Their fries are great. Their breakfast is also great.

Yelp
Decided to order curbside to-go during the stay-at-home order due to Coronavirus pandemic. Given time constrained, I placed the order a couple hours early with a pick-up around 6 PM - not a problem for The Kenwood. While the entire menu looks pretty good, we ordered the marinated olives (pretty good), a mixed green salad with salmon and the Kenwood burger. First of all, the curbside to-go works extremely well - there were a couple of other cars waiting when I arrived but within 10 minutes, someone came out with my food. Thankfully I checked what was inside since they initially forgot the salmon (doh!) but that was quickly correctly. The marinated olives were tasty, but I still prefer the roasted olives with garlic from Red Rabbit. The mixed green salad is nice and healthy with beets, chevre, radish, pistachio and a white balsamic vinaigrette. The burger, which is a good size maybe one-third pound, comes on a nice toasted brioche bun and has tomato aioli. The burger comes with a generous portion of house-cut fries (or you can get a mixed green salad). Overall, a good take-out experience and the quality of the food was excellent. The Kenwood has great brunch and once things return to normal, I'll be back to dine-in.

Yelp
Recently had dinner with my daughter, my first experience at The Kenwood while she's a veteran. I was favorably impressed. A relatively smallish space nevertheless seems comfortable and well appointed. We were warmly greeted and ushered to a corner booth which turned out to be ideal. A bottle of still water was brought to our table as we scanned the limited though thoughtful menu. We decided to begin by splitting an appetizer bowl of fresh cucumber wedges marinated in a spicy vinaigrette (with flecks of Calabrian chilis) blended with pistachios and ricotta cheese. We both found it a great starter. Since it was my first visit, I went with the classic Kenwood burger made with pork belly, gruyere and a fried egg served in a mayo slathered Brioche bun. While I thought the pork was a bit tough and chewy, overall it proved a flavorful mess. Chosen as an accompaniment was a huge pile of house made fries with chili aioli for dipping. Daughter chose the English pea occhi with fava beans, fresh mint leaves and parmesan. She said it was a very tasty pasta dish swimming in a rich, unctuous, buttery sauce. I was offered a morsel and promptly proclaimed it delicious. For dessert we once again shared, this time a delightful TK strawberry shortcake. We eagerly consumed what turned out to be a not too sweet end to a wonderful meal. The Kenwood is one of those neighborhood places in a cozy setting that serves excellent food. I hope to get back soon.

Yelp
SOLID! I'm usually not a brunch person, but I wanted to take my out-of-state family to a place they would remember before their flight back home. Their brunch menu contains actual lunch items, so you're not forced to eat breakfast midday. Surprisingly, we all ordered a different dish which made for a great photo op! I thought I was being boring by ordering the Huevos Rancheros, but it came out looking like art and tasted just as great. There was some acid with the fresh jalapeños, some fat with the cream, and all the protein you need to start the day off right! My partner ordered the Butternut Squash Biscuit and oh lord was that creamy and delicious! Not a single scrap was left on the table by the time our party left! No complaints here. My uncle mentioned how good and strong the coffee was, another family member downed the spicy Fried Rice with Kimchi, and we all left perfectly satisfied without feeling overly stuffed! True chefs work here and I'll be back as always for dinner! Easy residential street parking.

Yelp
What's going on? My husband and I had countless memorable dinners at The Kenwood but our past two visits have been a let down and over salted. The service is always great, the burger never misses but the other seasonal menu options have been uninspired and may I say again very, very salty. Hate to say that we won't be back and are sadly in search of another neighbor hangout.

Yelp
So close! We shared a bunch of courses, and they were damn near perfect except the main, which came with peaches. But the peaches were far from ripe. In this scenario, you could change that day's menu, you could omit the peaches, maybe you could grill them... but heavens, don't serve them! They're crunchy! Otherwise the service was good, the wine was excellent, and pretty much everything else was on point.

Yelp
Great service and fun neighborhood atmosphere! Food was excellent too! A little on the pricey side, but very tasty!
