Where To Eat In Northern Westchester

"When Bitcoin finally hits your target price and you buy that fantasy horse farm in Pound Ridge, The Kitchen Table is where you’ll go for a casual breakfast. This counter service spot is located in the Scotts Corners hamlet, which runs for about three blocks and is filled with picture-perfect shops that make everywhere else seem ... not good enough. They serve breakfast until close (which is 3pm most days), along with lunch starting around noon. We’re partial to the breakfast menu, especially the burrito, but the sandwich classics are worth your stomach space as well. The staff are super friendly and patient, even when there’s a line of locals out the door, gossiping no doubt about the price of hay." - mike wasserman

Google
Great little restaurant for some down home, southern breakfast food. Staff was very courteous and friendly. Our waitress was awesome. A must for everyone, including those that are not used to southern cooking.

Emily Ligh

Google
Betsy (our waitress) was very friendly & the service was quick. You can sit indoors or out (patio overlooks the marsh). Great way to start our day-all of our dishes were hot & delicious.

Patriot The Penguin (Bottlesgonewild)

Google
Had lunch Turkey w mashed potatoes. Cheddar Soup with 2 biscuits and a side salad. Our Waitress was great!!

Jodie Parker

Google
Coffee was good and home fries but the omelet was not good at all. The omelet only had cheese in a glob on one side and it tasted like plastic. We were on vacation for our anniversary was not a great way to end our last day. Food was not good

Sue Kohl

Google
Excellent breakfast, quick and friendly service. We had the stuffed french toast with fresh strawberries and the house skillet. Both were delicious, and good value for money. The coffee could be better, not terrible, but definitely not as good as it could be. And our booth was directly underneath a music speaker; it was pretty loud for an early Sunday morning breakfast. I wish they had the seafood omelette on the regular menu. Having seen photos and reviews here I was disappointed to find it's only served as a summer special. Overall it was great, we'll definitely be back. * Read your receipt carefully and hang on to it; ours says they offer 10% discount on your next meal with it, which we will use tomorrow *Edit, came back the following morning and we had the hungry mans breakfast and eggs Benedict, and again both were delicious and good value for money. Coffee was also better this morning.

Jeanette Jeneault

Google
The sausage gravy and biscuits were phenomenal. The service speedy and accommodating. We can't wait to be back. I bet they are super busy in the summer. As a local I have tried many places. They are up there at the top.

Google
Some of the best food I ate on our trip .. Pancakes were delicious. Service was good and the atmosphere made me feel like I was in a fancy restaurant but it was down to earth and didn't break the bank.

Google
After driving by for three years, my wife and I finally decided to give it a try. We had a positive experience overall: delicious food, great value, exceptional service. Renee, our server, mentioned that she was new, but she could have fooled me! My only issue was that my French toast cooled off very quickly. Pro Tip: save your receipt and you will get 10% off your next meal.

Yelp
Had turkey lunch with mashed potatoes and gravy with a side salad. Cheddar Soup with a side of 2 biscuits. The soup was delicious! Our Waitress was so lively! Such a delight.

Yelp
Food was great! Awsome they have A Veterans Discount and The server Erin was great. Had the omelets and French toast. Great coffee too!
google avatar

Lonny N.

Yelp
Great breakfast menu. Loved the Boston Cream Pancakes. The French toast and omelettes also looked delicious.
google avatar

Carroll S.

Yelp
Saw the sign with Boston Cream pancakes- drew us in. The pretty yellow plantation like exterior looks like the menu would be pricey- but it is not. Breakfast prices are below 10$ The inside is like a roomy Dennys. The inside is showing it wear-(could use new carpets and paint but with the prices so low - ‍ The wait staff are friendly and they appear to work well with each other. So now on to the pancakes- I was worried that they may be overly sweet but surprisingly they are a perfect balance and oh so delicious!!! My hubby's Eggs Benedict was perfect - the eggs were mesmerizingly enticing. I don't eat Benedict's but their looked delicious. We came during the off tourist season- was sat immediately- oh and coffee delicious not bitter ( both regular and decaf)

Yelp
Listen, I can live on breakfast! I can have breakfast for breakfast, for lunch, for dinner, just anytime! So yeah, I'm picky when it comes to breakfast. We were in N. Myrtle Beach for a woman's retreat so I had the day to myself. Breakfast in Myrtle Beach can be a nightmare with the crowds, poor service, and food chucked out the kitchen like an assembly line. But I found a gem in this unassuming spot called the Kitchen Table. Just a little north of Barefoot Landing, the breakfast here was exceptional. I order eggs over easy with corned beef hash and grits, with...wait for drumroll....PUMPKIN PANCAKES. Yeah I said it! It was absolutely amazing! Food cooked perfectly, great service, wasn't too crowded (around 11:30 on a Friday) and just good all the way around. If you want good home style breakfast at a good price point while in Myrtle Beach? The Kitchen Table is your spot!
google avatar

Natasha M.

Yelp
We had gone on a Sunday and it was moderately crowded. Our server was very slow but realized that he is European and we as Americans are the only ones that eat fast. The food was really very good fresh and unlike any other restaurant around with the variety and dish servings.
google avatar

Valerie V.

Yelp
Food is good, lots of seating and staff is very friendly and personable. A lot of great and reasonably priced items to choose from. We ate here for breakfast 2 days in a row because we liked it so much and was close to our rental.
google avatar

Eric C.

Yelp
This is the closest breakfast place to Barefoot resort. We usually look at Yelp reviews first. Glad I didn't or else I might not have given it a chance. Our party of four adults ate here three times over the week - breakfast twice and lunch once. Dishes included (breakfast) crab Benedict, fried green tomato Benedict, French toast, lemon - blueberry pancakes, strawberry waffles; (lunch) fried green tomato sandwich, turkey plate - all yummy! Pros: Tasty breakfast and lunch - better than food at a chain breakfast house Large parking lot Seated quickly Waited on promptly. Three different waiters were all super friendly. Nice view of the marsh I'm not sure if there's a new owner or manager or if the inside has been renovated. We sat outside twice and inside once. I didn't notice any falling tiles or smells. My party mentioned that we'd eat here if they served dinner, such as burgers and sandwiches. We will happily return the next time we're in North Myrtle Beach. 4.25 - 4.5

Yelp
I was disappointed in this place. The BLT on Avocado toast was good. The pancakes were so bland, no type of flavor, thin, with some fluff. The service was ok and it was clean. Not a vibe at all, nothing special about.
google avatar

Austin T.

Yelp
The food was great except for there was not much food on the plate Service was not good at all Ambiance was ok
google avatar

Ashley N.

Yelp
All I can say is YIKES. The waitress took half of the orders wrong, and gave us a bad look when we asked for the items we actually ordered. The food was undercooked, bland and boring. The building and decorations are stuck in the 80s-90s. Very dirty and dusty as well. The manager at the end of all of this gaslit the head of my party and was extremely rude.

Sami B.

Yelp
The service was quite slow when they didn't appear to be very busy for lunch on a weekday. The food was average. And the whole place could use an update.
google avatar

Alexander P.

Yelp
There are hundreds of places to get breakfast in this area, but I don't think you can do much better than this. Perfectly cooked eggs Benedict on top of a nicely toasted English muffin along with a hot cup of coffee, all at a great price? Throw in a beautiful marsh view and 10% off your next visit with your receipt and you have the formula for the kind of place you'll want to visit again and again. You can't ask for much more out of a breakfast spot.
google avatar

Ethan E.

Yelp
Food was delicious couldn't recommend the Banana Cream Pancakes more enough. The waitress was very nice same to the receptionist l. The building itself has a nice comfy vibe and the people around us were okay. Being with my wife is nice

Yelp
The Kitchen Table We have been here several times over the last several years on vacation, but this year we both looked at the place and the food and decided this will be the last time, assuming of course we remember. I have looked at the same tiles on the ceiling as they have nearly fallen down for years, keep wondering who will be under it when it finally falls.. The walls are looking grungy from years of certainly not being painted ...washed? It was the only place we ate at that didn't have WIFI. My coffee cup was the smallest one I have ever had, considering coffee an soda are the largest margin product they have to give small cups and then only 1 refill because there was no one doing it. The butter for our pancakes is in small, but real packages on the tables. The syrup sits on the table. What cemented our decisions to take it out of the places we will return to was nothing about the meal was better than a low average. We simply found other places priced the same that offered better value, without the threat of a falling tile,

Yelp
Food: had lunch portion of roast turkey. Amount of food was as expected. Quality??? Different story. For the most part not sliced but pulled off the bone. Very dry even with gravy. Mashed potatoes more like smashed. VERY chunky. Stove top stuffing. Bagel. Faux butter. Did not have or were out of cream cheese. Fried eggs and corned beef hash was good. Beverages: $4.29 for iced coffee(no refills) was a mason jar filled to top with ice and a splash of coffee. Unsweet tea? Can't review. Never served. Have been here several times in the past. Was good. That's why we came back. Will skip in the future.

John D.

Yelp
This as been our favorite our favorite breakfast spot for the last twenty years .It used to be the Springhouse Restaurant before the current owners took over. Plenty of parking, good handicap parking and a ramp for those who need it, never had a bad meal. Also open for lunch, and affordable. Traffic light right out front to assist easy in and out from King's Hwy.(Rt 17) and is located right across the road from Alligator Adventure--stop in for a bite. If your vehicle has wings, the Grand Strand airport is just to the North up the street.
google avatar

Mande B.

Yelp
Portions were good, food was hot, service was good. Plates were not oversized, they were normal size dinner plates, which is great to see. Decor is "beachy vibrant" and fits its location well.

Teresa M.

Yelp
The food was old, server was friendly but mixed up orders, missed items...some of us had GI issues afterwards. Maybe it was an off day but would never go back.

Paige B.

Yelp
The food was awful and the manager is very rude and inconsiderate. He will praise people for good reviews and blame others for the bad when it's either the food or service. He won't own up to mistakes and if he doesn't like a bad review he reports it for being false. Sorry dude, just trying to warn people.

Lisa Z.

Yelp
We had always wanted to try The Kitchen Table and we did last Saturday. We will never return! It was absolutely awful! I had a vegetable omelette and it was disgusting. The vegetables were definitely canned. The mushrooms were slimy and almost not edible. I feel so bad making this review but I don't want anyone else wasting their money. I spent over 80 dollars for four people and no one enjoyed their meal. We were all so disappointed. I would have spent similar at Bluberries or Johnny D's and at least had great food. Like I said- we always wanted to try Kitchen Table but once was definitely enough. I don't understand how they could serve such bad food and get away with it.

Connie P.

Yelp
Had a great breakfast yesterday morning! My french toast and bacon were done to perfection. Our coffee was wonderful! Thanks, Erin, for great coffee and fabulous service. We'll be back on our next trip.

Ralph G.

Yelp
The food is passable, the place is dirty!!! The walls on the side of our booth were in need of cleaning, if you look up at the ceiling the Air conditioning filters needed to be changed.
google avatar

Ashley H.

Yelp
I found this yesterday after riding around the area and decided to come by for breakfast. Haleigh, our waitress was very friendly and made sure that we had everything that we needed. I ordered the pecan pancakes with bacon and eggs. My sister ordered the strawberry pancakes with bacon and eggs. We absolutely enjoyed our food! Everything was freshly cooked and the pancakes were nice and fluffy. Breakfast is served up until 2:00 p.m., so this would be good for people who like to sleep in later or simply want breakfast food lunch. I would highly recommend the restaurant.
google avatar

Angel W.

Yelp
The sign outside and the daily special board said Mimosas. Mermaid Mimosas to be specific. We walk in to a gentleman at the host station who doesn't greet us other than "follow me". The waitress was a young girl with brown hair who was more concerned with kitchen drama than taking care of her tables. When I ordered the mermaid mimosa she said "can't do it, we don't have champagne" what's the point of advertising something you don't have? I order the daily special seafood omelette, my husband ordered biscuits and gravy. The food was just ok... definitely not worth the price they are charging. It's a better choice than fast food but not by much.
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
It was just ok. The outside looks really nice so I was expecting a next level breakfast. The portions are small and strangely the omelette's do not come with toast or a biscuit. The side of potatoes weren't the best so it didn't matter that they didn't give many. The waitress never came back to refill my coffee or warm it up. It seemed like after she brought the food she was done? It wasn't awful, we just didn't find a reason to go back.

John D.

Yelp
We have been loyal customers of The Kitchen Table Restaurant since the day they took over the location after the former owners retired. We have never had a bad meal, and the service has always been good. I saw a review from a customer complaining the ceiling tiles looked like they were ready to fall down--which is not true. The interior is clean and bright. They offer their returning customers a discount if they show their receipt from their last visit. The Kitchen Table Restaurant also gives Veterans a discount, but you have to make sure you request it. This is our go-to breakfast venue when we spend the winter months in North Myrtle Beach. Good handicap parking and access ramp on the left side of the building. Located across the street from Alligator Adventure on Hwy 17--stop in for a bite...

Yelp
We did the Thanksgiving Family takeout dinner and it was exceptional. The service couldn't have been better and Dina was very nice. Highly recommend for a stress free Thanksgiving!
google avatar

Toshia C.

Yelp
The waitress staff was phenomenal! The owner however seems very rude and disrespectful! I don't know how he keeps any staff in this place watching how rude he was to them! He definitely does not have the southern charm I thought I would find when we walked in.... So entitled this guy..... unbelievable! We will never be returning, I think he has enough money and he damn sure doesn't deserve any of mine or yours! The best thing about my visit was most definitely my waitress and she says she's quitting in 2 weeks ‍ sad when the customer recognizes the hard work of the employees and the owner doesn't

John R.

Yelp
We ordered the catered thanksgiving diner. Dana was amazing. The whole process was handled seamlessly. The Turkey and mashed potatoes were delicious. I would highly recommend The Kitchen Table for catered events.
google avatar

Melinda W.

Yelp
Ate here for the first time and other than being very busy, I am pleased. The food was very good. I had 2 scrambled eggs, grits, hash, and toast and my husband had the kitchen table skillet. He said it was good but needed more of it. They have a great selection of mimosas - I had a passion fruit mimosa and my husband had a lemonade mimosa. They serve breakfast and lunch only. We were seated quickly but had to wait a bit to be waited on - the staff was very apologetic. I would recommend this place and will come back.
google avatar

Caleigh T.

Yelp
Arrived to The Kitchen Table on a mid Sunday morning and had a small wait before being seated on the patio. The service was quick and the food was delicious. I had the Florentine Benedict and grits, which I would highly recommend. If you are a coffee person, I would suggest an iced French vanilla coffee. The rest of my group had regular coffee and was not too impressed with the flavor. My boyfriend ordered a veggie skillet and also loved it! Hope you take time to try and enjoy!

Victoria K.

Yelp
I have been going there and taking my visitors there for years. Today I was meeting two friends there and I was told I could not be seated until they arrived. Really, the place was not busy, it wasn't like I had asked for a table for 10 people, just 3 of us. So I can't sit and enjoy coffee while I wait for them to meet me in 5 minutes. Not very friendly. Owner claims they insist on the entire party being there before seating. Again if I said we were a party of 10, I could understand that policy, but not for 3 people. Thank God he has a fantastic staff, for I would have left.
google avatar

Tausha B.

Yelp
Place was clean, food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly. Would highly recommend this place while visiting myrtle beach.

Lonnie P.

Yelp
Food was good and the corn beef hash was a nice surprise. Puppy friendly and had to sit outside but that didn't stop from going two times. Reasonable prices, great ambiance for having to sit outside and the service was quick

Judy S.

Yelp
We love their tasty options and great service. We'll be back whenever we're in town. Our receipt gives us 10% off our next visit.
google avatar

Anita S.

Yelp
I thought the food was good and very reasonable. I would go back. Accommodates taste for Southern breakfast food as well as upscale taste buds.

Margaret C.

Yelp
The food is so good, I was asking people with me if they were gonna finish their food 100000/10, ate a lot of food. That food was top tear. Owner was nice to us. Waitresses are sweet. I loved it.
google avatar

Nikki H.

Yelp
Pros: Our server, Hope, was excellent. We could see that they were short staffed, but she didn't miss a beat. Pancakes were good, and the amount of food was plentiful. Cons: the place could use some cleaning. The bathroom cleaning schedule was questionable for sure. I had the seafood omelette; it was bland and smelled really fishy. Coffee was bland. I would t visit again because of the lack of cleanliness. There was signage up about social distancing and hand sanitation.

Ron D.

Yelp
Would love to give zero stars or even negative stars but can't. Waited for an outdoor table. Got finally seated. Sever took drink order. Brought out drinks. Had to get something else before taking our order. Finally took the order. Brought out food she thought was ours after putting down 2 meals that were wrong realized she was at the wrong table. Took one meal away to give to correct table. Our food came out went to the wrong table sat it down, that person questioned it so took it away. Asked where it went then brought it out to my table. Oh HELL NO I don't want food that has been on someone's tables NO NO NO NEVER even before Covid.

Michael R.

Yelp
Pancakes were hot. Sausage was good flavor. Environment was okay, clean table. Waitress was good when taking orders. Appears staff shortage causes some delays in receiving food. Would recommend offer specials for breakfast, like combination meat selections with pancakes or waffles.
google avatar

Ivory C.

Yelp
Overall a good breakfast place, but don't fall for the special seafood omelet. It's very small, lacks taste and overpriced for what you get. They need to take that off the menu.

Beth P.

Yelp
Food cold, building run down. Skip this place. I won't be going back. Our waitress was great!.
google avatar

Kelly M.

Yelp
This lil place popped up on my recommendations for breakfast so I dropped in! Unlike everyone else I saw on my drive down, I was seated immediately! Server was fast to come and take my order! Tried the mimosas, which were ok, I recommend less juice, as both of mine tasted more of juice than champagne. Unsure of the cost yet but hope it's not outrageous for the lack of what tastes the best. The bacon was perfect! The stuffed french toast...absolutely tasteful and a large serving! I was very happy with my little adventure this am!
google avatar

Dennis L.

Yelp
This is my second visit here and both times were terrific. The restaurant is bright with lots of views over the marsh area. The staff were super nice and attentive to our needs. The food is delicious and there are daily specials that expand the menu. Will definitely come back again.

Joshua R.

Yelp
Decided to stop in and give it a try as we were deciding on something for lunch. I ordered the fried flounder sandwich. After seeing how good it looked my wife decided to switch so I had waffles, eggs and bacon. All came out hot and very good. One daughter had the stuffed French toast with strawberries and other hands kids chicken tenders. All were very good. Would most definitely stop again.
google avatar

Steven D.

Yelp
Great location and good value! We've stopped in here about 3-4 times since moving down and haven't been disappointed! It's a dated decor, but the wait staff more than makes up for that. I have a feeling it's gonna be hard to get in as the weather warms up.
google avatar

Vicki S.

Yelp
Hearty breakfast to fill you up. Conveniently off of Hwy 17. Service was quick and the food was served hot. Our waitress was attentive and pleasant. $4 mimosa. Also breakfast rush on Saturday starts at 9am. We went at 8 and seated immediately
