The 7 Must-Visit New Restaurants of Spring 2024 | Bon Appétit

"The brick‑and‑mortar debut of Jhonny Reyes’s Afro‑Latin pop‑up, opening a few blocks from Pike Place Market and inspired by the chef’s upbringing on Lenox Avenue in Spanish Harlem. The menu translates his popular pop‑up fare—frita cubana and short‑rib sancocho—into a full roster of dishes like ropa vieja made with smoked brisket, a sofrito‑brined fried chicken sandwich, and hush puppies with citrus‑habanero honey, reflecting his background at JuneBaby and success on Chopped." - ByKate Kassin

1 year of living here and I only haven't moved because it'd be an inconvenience. I've had to deal with mold from old windows and main door that have no seal, when I first moved in my Apt it had fleas mold, ripped carpet and outlets that didn't work. I brought this up to management and they said they'd get back to me but I never heard anything and had to take care of some of the issues myself. The Laundromat on site is always filthy and are not cleaned properly, hire someone else you are just wasting your money.. I only go off-site to clean laundry because I don't want my clothes stinking of mildew. You raise the rent but I see nowhere the money is going to, there are constant wasp nests built around the property, dirty laundry machines across all buildings, the buildings are never washed unless it rains, the shower fixtures are coming loose and not sealed properly and the windows are original from when the building was constructed.

Worst management ever, if you can call it that. Save yourself a headache and move somewhere else. Nobody returns phone calls, their utility billing isn’t divided fairly, there’s always garbage everywhere… I needed a few alterations to my unit to accommodate my disabilities. They ignored me for long enough my doctor referred me to a program that gave me a case worker to help communicate with the property management. They ignored her too, so she contacted housing who was going to start withholding rent and they ignored them too. I fell and hurt myself multiple times due to the lack of acknowledgement of my requests. I also had to have my bath tub refinished because their contractors are as useful as their management so everything is done poorly. I was told I had to be gone for 10 hours so I planned on staying the night at a friends house. Management assured me that the worker would get a lock box for my door so they could leave it locked up when they left. I was concerned, so she told me the maintenance guy would check to make sure my door had the lock box on it before turning in for the night. When I got home I found my door to be open and vulnerable to predators and thrives. I am a disabled single mom with a special needs kid and we had already our bikes and a mobility scooter stolen from being locked in front of our unit. At least two other neighbors had lost their bikes too, but when I brought it up to management several times so they could alert the community, they never bothered. I also alerted them many times about the homeless people sleeping in the laundromat, the cigarette butts everywhere, and the inoperable cars taking up the only guest parking spots, but they never addressed any of it. They really don’t care. The last point I have to make is that only the south side of the Lenox has a gym and it’s obviously dangerous to cut through the creek at night given the theft and homeless problems. It’s also overpriced for the current market to not have a washer and dryer in the unit and only one bathroom. We could have handled that if we weren’t ignored by management when asking for something as simple as a bar for my shower so I don’t slip again and break my neck. Shame on you, Lenox. Work on caring about your community.

I recently moved into a 1-bedroom at Lenox Apartment in Rohnert Park and love it so far. The unit is modern, the neighbors are quiet, and the management is responsive and friendly. The view is a nice bonus, and the overall atmosphere is peaceful. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-managed place to live

Don't waste your time on this place. I have rented for years, and this was one of the worst apartment I ever lived in. Managment does not communicate with you, no warnings before they do things, and the rent on what you get is not worth it at all. Also, yes there are roaches. Moved into my unit and the patio was trashed, front door handle was rusted and never changes when I notified them, no fire extinguisher, and the laundry is such a mess. If you do live here, do not handle things word of mouth with them. Get proof of everything that was communicated. Do Not take their word!

Google
Strong application criteria for a lease offer from FPI Management. That somehow processed OK. Useless single pane windows & carports flooded for THREE days. Rohnert Park's walkable "Core" section . Lease renewal agreement (65 pages) turned into a fixable mess. What's crazy is the consistent 94+ % occupancy, (202 units, on a $64M complex), & that only leaves a few apartments available. Even w/ the stupid management & living issues, I'm better off staying at The Lenox.

My putter door lock had become nonfunctional, and Scott was very quick in rekeying and courteous in demeanor.

This place took my deposit money over a month ago and were unable to get the unit ready in time. It has been vacant all month but they waited til the last second and were unable to deliver on their promises. now I'm looking at going into a homeless shelter as a disabled person. Samantha will not return my calls or emails since it seems shes on a permanent vacation.. I can only imagine how they treat people once you sign a lease. It's probably a blessing in disguise.

Is a nice place to live Samantha is very nice MANAGER. She’s doing a great job.

Yelp
Sorta like renting a small condominium without a HUGE HOA fee or property taxes. About $200. / mo in extra fees, on top of the monthly lease agreement base rent. Sorta liked the strong application criteria to even get a lease offer for the few available refurbished apartments. Pools & grounds amazingly maintained with that common issue everywhere of trash overflow. FPI Management (like Graystar), uses the RealPage platform & YieldStar to squeeze the most money out of everyone.

Yelp
The Lenox lost two stars on this Yelp update. Lost one star for their Lease Renewal document mistake. Lost another star cuz the parking lot was flooded for three days. What's crazy is The Lenox complex (all 202 apartments) is consistantly 98% occupied, & usually has only a few units available to lease.

Yelp
The new staff Samantha and Charlie are amazing! They got work done I had needed for a long time. This staff is exceptional. Maintenance is prompt and caring. Thank you

Yelp
This management is being the worst ever I got someone living on top of me making all kinds of noises at whatever time it is 2 am I. The morning and she constantly hitting the wall on purpose to make me fell uncomfortable also I told the manager many times and she Samantha never does nothing

Yelp
Just came back to say again how awful this place is. They take 3+ weeks to respond to an email, require reminders over the phone to respond to said emails (we're still waiting for a response). This has to be the worst managed apartment complex in Rohnert Park, I make sure to warn as many people as possible to avoid this shady, awful business.

Chinyere E.

Yelp
Please take all the bad reviews to heart and do not move here! The units are okay, but not really worth the price. The only good thing about this place is the location (being near stores & the train)...but honestly there are sketchy people around at night at the North complex. With the unit, things are not truly fixed by covered up. I move into a unit with mold, the patio trashed, and front door handle rusted, and missing fire extinguisher. These problems were never fixed when addressed. Like other post there are roaches and spiders. But the main problem is the lack of communication from management. For example, they will never respond back to your emails and want everything done by word of mouth. So you are stuck playing he said she said with them. When they pick up their calls, I've been in the office couple time I see them not pick up the phone calls. Several times I had to contact the higher up to get actual information about some of their policy, when they couldn't provide accurate information. There's many situations I experienced that were totally unprofessional, and there lack of negligence should be considered illegal as well. Sharing my experiences with the management would be too long of a post, but it was absolutely horrific. The manager does not take ownership for her mistakes and that's the frustrating part. Sadly, one of the previous leasing agent (who we liked and agreed with us) had to apologize on the manger's behalf and took all the blame regarding one of the many situations. We assume that agent resigned, which many do (they rotate them in & out). If you are a current resident, please make sure you get documentation for everything. Even moving out make sure to get some type of documentation from them even when they say it's not needed. They will lie and spin things, so document everything and email following up regarding certain conversations so you can have it on your record. Or you end up like us and others on this thread receiving a call from a debt collector for rent you owe when you don't even live there. I have rented previously in other areas of the Bay, and by far this is the worst place I ever lived in.

Yelp
!!!!!!!!! TERRIBLE PROPERTY MANAGEMENT !!!!!!!!!!!!! If you want to live in a complex where the office management, property management, AND regional management doesn't care about having habitable living spaces then this is your place! On-going mold due to windows leaking during winter is not ideal, especially with a young child! They will cover their tracks with e-mails saying it will get fixed but then say it wont over the phone. This has been months of reaching out, trying to find a solution and still not one window fixed. This PM Company is an absolute JOKE! If you cant pay for replacement of windows (yes, multiple!!) that are bringing water into a unit, you shouldn't be A COMPLEX. Simple as that. No money for simple repairs yet I'm sure the CEO's are sleeping just fine in their warm, habitable houses.

Yelp
I have been at The Lenox Apartments for 4 months, and the office staff and maintenance crew are very accommodating with all my requests and questions. A special thank you to Ernie, head of the maintenance crew, he always has a smile on his face and willing to make sure that everything is in working order. I have had to make a few maintenance requests and all of them have been handled with care and resolved promptly. I look forward to seeing a few updates with the landscape since many areas are without plants or even bark. With the rat of rent I expect a little more attention to the landscape.

Yelp
Update: Be prepared to live with spiders and roaches. Have had apartment sprayed and still having issues but can't hear back from management for further extermination. Doors shift and don't open properly once again after being fixed. Was told due to the building being old. Yet I pay extra for an upgraded apartment. Oh yeah, roof construction at 7:15 am every morning. Move in right away!

Yelp
The one-bedrooms are cute but expensive made even worse with the added cost of trash/sewer/water. Here is my nightmare, after moving out, which has not been resolved yet: 1/15 I moved out of the Lenox Apartment 1/25 "Hi Angela, would you be able to give us a forward address to send your move out paperwork, please. Mariah 1/25 ME: "It is XXXX Kerry Road Apt 129... 2/18 ME: "It has been over a month and I have not heard from you as to my deposit refund... 2/22"Hi Angela, My apologies for the delay as we have been short staffed in the office. Do you mind telling me which apartment you moved from? My name is Lonita and I am the Are Supervisor and I am filling in for Jasmine until she returns. 2/26 "Hi Angela, Thank you. We will update this information as soon as possible. Our apologies for the delay. 3/6 (I received the disposition and check. It came in a hand-addressed envelope and along with the check was the original returned envelope. Meaning FPI sent the original check to me. The disposition had some discrepancies that Jazmin and I discussed over the phone on Wednesday, March 10th.) 3/10 (Jazmin and I spoke over the phone and she told me that another piece of mail was in the mail. She never told me not to cash the check, there was no indication that there was a problem with it so I cashed it at the check-cashing place.) 3/16 ME: I just received a call saying that the check you wrote for my security deposit refund was cancelled by you. Can someone explain what is going on over there? .... 3/16 Good Morning Angela, yes that's correct we had to revise your disposition because the check we sent you didn't have an apartment number and it came back to us. you should be getting a new one with the correct address and apartment number... (PLEASE NOTE: The check cashing place said the check was cancelled by FPI) 3/16 Hi Angela, this is Jazmin thanks for the update. I'll check on the check and see why you have not received it. I'll try to get the new check number and email it to you. 3/19 ME: Hi Jazmin, I have not received anything, no mail, no check number nothing... This is unacceptable ... 3/24 ME: At this point, I feel that I am being jerked around. I spoke to Haley yesterday and she assured me that Jazmin would get back to me. I have heard or received anything from anyone... 3/24 Hi Angela, I'll give you a call tomorrow I need to investigate why the check was cancelled and if they are sending a new one. Once I get that information I can give you a call. 3/24 ME: What do you mean IF they are sending another? I am due my deposit back!!! And Why hasn't this been done already?... 3/25 I need to find out what's happening because you're telling me that the current check you got was cancelled. 3/25 ME: I need you to call me. I have only received one check that was cancelled by you!!... 3/25 Hi Angela, As per our conversation this morning I'll find out why your check was cancelled. Thanks for being so patient! 4/1 ME: Hi Jazmin, You told me a check was mailed a week ago Monday, I am sure someone is lying to me and your company is stealing my money. I want a check overnighted to me... 4/1 Hi Angela, Per our conversation last week your new check has been sent out. We need to cancel it and cut a new check and then we can overnight it to you. Would you like to start the process? 4/1 ME: You told me that if the check didn't come by Monday you would overnight another, well I have waited until today, Thursday, and it still hasn't arrived. I want my money by tomorrow so your best remedy is to overnight it to me... 4/1 Yes, I asked you to call me if you did not receive the check by Monday and you never did until now. Ok I'll let my AR know to cancel the check, cut a new one and overnight it to you. 4/2 ME: Can you please send me the tracking number for the overnight delivery that should be coming today. Thank you 4/3 Hi Angela, I'll give you the tracking number on Monday... 4/3 ME: The check was supposed to be overnighted on Thursday, I should have received it on Friday. 4/3 We have to submit the request through corporate and I'm sure they have to cut checks in order as they come in. 4/5 I will look into this and get back to you. 4/6 ME: Please tell me what is going on. You said you would get back to me yesterday and you didn't, I called and you haven't returned my call or sent me any update. I need a response. 4/7 Hi Angela, I'm waiting for the tracking number to send it over to you, you should be getting your check tomorrow first thing in the morning. 4/7 (4:27PM) ME: Can you please give me an update, I really think you are giving me the runaround. I need a response, will I receive this check today? 4/7 Fedex overnight had been approved by the PM. I'm waiting for confirmation that the check has been sent out. 4/12 ME: I need to hear from you. At this point, I feel FPI stole my money... I still don't have my money. Stay away from this complex.

Yelp
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. This place is extreme fraud. The first day my girlfriend & I got our place was completely different from what was shown to my place. I literally mean a DOWNGRADE, and obviously, we couldn't back out since all the papers were signed prior ( Lesson learned). The materials in the apartment were made of poor quality, everything was breaking down, our dishwasher and heater had molds which was completely unsanitary ( This is literally the first week of living in there). After 6 months of complying, we decide to move out because it was unhabitable, so we had to break the lease and pay an amount of $3700+ ( 2 months worth of rent). After paying that, we receive another bill from the Lenox, for the cleaning and paint expenses which was a total of around $1200+.... literally the apartment was clean and no damage was done the day we left.. they also charged us for the ware in the paint even though it has always been like that... So now my deposit is gone, and i'm being charged an extra $685 which will get sent to collects in 45 days if not paid. I'm warning anyone considering to move to this place, that this complex and the way they do business is not for you!! Update: I've been in contact with management to demand an explanation and they keep sending me to a different person who cant even seem to even call me or leave me a voice mail. So I'm stuck.

Jacquelyn D.

Yelp
If I take a hot shower when my neighbor has the water running my water gets really hot and I'm unable to complete my shower unless they turn off their water. The building is on a slant and I can tell that the slab is actually slanted. I am not positive if the building is even up to code. The plumbing gets stopped up a lot and I can tell there's a lot of water wasted with the upgraded shower heads because they're not installed correctly. The end community washer and dryers have dog hair in them and the prices went up because they had to install new washers and dryers when the old ones weren't working. On the website the one bedroom listed for 1799 was not available so I had to take a one bedroom at 1950 a month and was told the unit was not renovated because it had an old shower head. The old shower head had no water pressure so I asked about it and was given a new shower head but it leaks water during the shower that sprays all over the walls. The quiet hours really do not make a difference because there's plenty of people who don't mind them. If anything I would say there are other places to rent at a much lower rate with the same quality of purchase that you're getting with a unit like this.

Yelp
Worst place to live. They change office management and staff so much and don't keep track of any paperwork. Nothing legal about the situations at all and drag there feet with everything. They don't give a shit about there tenants here. But they do know how to screw you with fine print. Don't fall for the low deposit... It's a trap. Straight hell hole, loud all the time , never any parking, illegal activity, no matter the "background checks", people who are accepted can let anybody in. Lenox doesn't care as long as they get there money. The unit below me had 6 adults in a 2 bedroom! Half the washers and dryers never worked. Short notice on all property repairs leaving you struggling to find ways. Horrible place that's not worth what they're charging. Also good luck getting ahold of them, they never answer the phone.

Elena M.

Yelp
Read my previous review. DO NOT MOVE HERE!! Have had leaking windows, 3/4 of my windows. Almost been two months and nothing has been done! Emails ignored! They have had two people look at the windows. They said the first time they can't go with just the first person, since they told them they need to be replaced. Second people said the same exact thing!! Also my dad took a look at the windows and he said the wood is starting to rot outside! They clearly do not care. I always have to clean and have towels near the windows due to mold growth from the leakage. I will be taking legal matters! Also ants, pintcher bug problem! Almost everyone has these problems if it isn't the previous roach issue!

Shelby A.

Yelp
** please read before renting here ** there is a reason these apartments are on the cheaper end for Sonoma county. Fpi management is awful, cheap and does not care about tenants . Units in photos on website do not reflect how units truly Iook. Outdated , poorly painted, not maintained, windows breaking and rusting , huge bug issue they fail to fix, baseboard coming up in bathroom due to rot behind them. I have gone round and round with this place for over a year to have multiple things fixed and have my apartment sprayed for bugs. I give up. It's exhausting. Some examples of what I've endured here : rusty nails and screws on my balcony falling from above unit that my TWO YEAR OlD could have stepped on... safety issue !! a broken living room window that has been broken for over a year , was broken upon move in. My front door was an interior flimsy door , requested a new one and they took a door off another unit that was dirty. All my windows are rusting and have holes in the metal. Huge ant infestation living inside the walls and baseboards no matter how much I spray , clean, set traps they just keep coming back. Silver fish issue as well In kitchen and bathroom. Cabinets fly off hinges due to being so old and rusty and rotting and complex fails to come put on new ones no matter how much I've requested. Laundry rooms are filthy and full of dog hair in washers, dog crap all over the complex grounds . Don't even bother contacting the office they don't answer the phone. You may get a response via email but nothing will ever get fixed. Good luck if you choose to rent here. I am counting down the days until my lease is up at this hell hole.

Alexis J.

Yelp
RUN FAR FAR AWAY!! DO NOT LIVE HERE UNLESS YOU LIKE COCKROACHES I wish I could give this place negative stars. I lived at this complex for what felt like an endless two months. Where do I even begin. The unit was infested with cockroaches I had to have it exterminated within my first week of living there. Closet doors were broken, blinds were broken, outlet in the bathroom broken, toilet was clogged, all upon moving in. The only one of those things that ever got fixed was the closet doors because I hunted down a maintenance guy to do it otherwise they don't repair anything ever. I had to blow dry my hair in my kitchen all of my stay. Not to mention cars getting bashed in in the parking lot and my gas got siphoned. Loud early morning construction. Can't seem to keep people working for them as they constantly are changing managers and leasing office people so your information is always screwed up. I am now in a legal battle with them for charging me fees upon move out and not applying my security deposit to them. And if you need help from management they will never help you, they don't have a direct phone number and they don't respond to the email. For the price of the apartment, you'd be better off literally anywhere else

Yelp
This is THE WORST apartment I have ever lived in. My boyfriend and I stayed here for a year and were counting down the months until our lease ended. The list goes on and on why this place sucks. When the glorious day came of finally putting in our intent to move, we went into the leasing office asking what their policy was. One of the ladies that worked there said "you need to put your notice in 30 days before move out". So that's what we did and then moved out. About a month later I receive a phone call from a debt collector saying we owe $2800 because we broke our lease and they were continuing to charge us rent until we paid it off. They were claiming we needed a 60 day notice not 30. So we checked our lease and it states 30 days. So I wrote a dispute letter to the company and they dropped everything. Creekview place will try everything in their power to screw you over and get every penny in your pocket. We have seen at least 3 new managers in the 1 year we were there and probably another 3 associates that were swapped out. One of our neighbors was housing homeless people and they would bring their junk wagon and park over the line into our covered parking space. We had to complain about this individual multiple times and management was able to get him off the property since he didn't live there. We still saw other individuals staying there. There are 2 laundry rooms each with about 5/6 washing machines and at least 2 were always broken. So 90% of the time the others were always full. We had mold in our apartment ever since we had moved in. The first manager told us we had to clean it ourselves. The second manager took a look at it and said we needed new windows and Pedro the Maintenence guy cleaned them for us. They never followed up and got us new windows. Pedro was honestly the only great employee at this place. He is a hard worker and always so nice and willing to help you. All in all, never rent here.

Mario R.

Yelp
The worst place i lived. They fight you to fix appliances and anything in apartment. The screw you in every way..specially when you leave. I would recommend renting here even if its cheap...specially so.

Marissa D.

Yelp
I've lived in this complex for a few years now and am incredibly thankful for the ENTIRE team that runs this property, they all work so well together to make it a great place for residents. Jazmin is so sweet and does everything in her power to help you! I'm very appreciative of everything she does!!!:) Brian is so nice, and very helpful in the case billing issues or questions come up. Pedro is such a kind soul, he will always wave/ say hi as you pass by and such a dedicated/ hard worker!! Alex has amazing work ethic and kind spirit about him, definitely does everything he can to help residents and is sure to stop and say hi! Fernando I swear is always smiling which is bound to brighten your day, and he'll go out of his way to help those around him when needed. All in all yes there was a lot of staff turnover and issues that come with inconsistent staffing, but this current team has/ does work hard to help resolve any prior issues and genuinely do their best for each resident... They are all always so sweet/ cheerful despite how busy they are all the time, it's a a lot to juggle. Thank you!:) To future Lenox tenants, when reading other reviews don't hold these folks accountable for prior managements errors/ lack of follow through... trust me when I say I have witnessed them take things for terrible to wonderful!

Bert B.

Yelp
I have been a residence of creekview place apt. south for six 6years. The management that in place now are very helpful and always fix anything that has broke in my apartment in a timely manner. It's always a pleasure to go into the office and talk to Dee Dee(the Manager) She is a very understanding person and she listens. Also she has made some great improvements. The property owners should be very please to have a great asset like Dee Dee to manage there apartments In Rohnert Park

Yelp
worst place to live. managers are unproductive and unpersonable. living conditions are terrible it's pulling teeth to get repairs done. on top of paying way too much just don't even do it to yourself.

Kevin C.

Yelp
I throughly enjoyed my time at Creekview. The staff was always nice and promptly took care of any issues I had. It's nice to see they're spending time and money upgrading the inside/outside of the property. The new hardwood looking floors are super cool...wish my new place had them too.
