Delicious, authentic flavors at 2018 prices. This is the best tasting Mexican food in W Manhattan below Harlem. They have all the classics, done right. For $11-12 you cannot find a better value burrito in this part of the city. It is perfect for grab-n-go or delivery. And they have a nook to eat in if you prefer. In a West Village that’s increasingly overrun by private equity, this independent restaurant is a charming reminder of how things should be. The owner is almost always behind the counter with a smile. Service is fast and friendly. They will customize your order however you need. One of my favorite places that is definitely worth the visit. Try it and you’re guaranteed to return time and again.

4.5 stars…good tacos and for $5 a piece the portions are not bad. Yes the portions are smaller than one of the better known places, but so are the prices. 2 tacos were just under $11 with tax. Some sort of lunch or combo special would be nice if they don’t already have one I didn’t see. This is exactly what I was hoping for as this is exactly what you get when south of the boarder…brought back some good memories. Will definitely be back to try the tortas, bowls, and burritos. Only bad thing about the place is the size…there is only room for 2 or 3 people to stand inside while ordering and the ledge at the window is really only big enough for one person to stand there and eat. If you are walking by and it is empty, you should pop in to eat a taco at the window. When the weather is nice, there are chairs outside or you can bring your meal up the block to the park. 3 tacos and drink would be a perfect meal and cost less than $20.

I MISS THE OLD RED SALSA!!!! to preface, I’ve been getting a little taco every week of my life for about the last six years. The old salsa Was one of my favorite sauces in the game, or frankly in the world. A couple months ago, they changed it. It was beautiful the perfect mix of creamy and liquidy, notes of garlic, peppers, and tomatoes with a heat that just gets you in the right spot. The new sauce in my opinion is far worse. It is still fine, but it doesn’t fit the food as much as the other one would. The other one would soak in and the food would soak up the flavor and it was delicious. I miss it so much, could you please bring it back Little Taco House?

Happened upon this place whilst wandering. Happened to feel peckish. Saw they had a shrimp taco. Popped in. So nice. I think just a guy and his friend run the place. Kind. Quick. And holy cow, you guys… so so good. Will now be a destination to try the tortas, burritos, etc etc… go now.

Small taco house but taste good. I passed by chance and it’s afternoon. Start with beef taco first and taste good so decide to have burrito bowl to complete my meal. They have small seating space in front of the shop that you can sit to enjoy your meal. Credit card accepted. Enjoy

Omg came here on my lunch break ,first time here .The food was so good my favorite is the fish burrito is my favorite .The chicken quesadilla omg the flavors are incredible everything was so good my new to go taco spot. I asked the guy to put the green and red sauce on the side so I can try omg love both th sauces .

He came to visit the little taco house as part as a food tour. We tried the Al Pastor tacos, which were so fresh and delicious. This is not a sitdown place, the inside space is very small. I believe the owner's name is Pedro and he is super friendly and kind. I would definitely come back and try other flavors.

My friend recommended this spot when I said I wanted a quick taco place. This place is small with no indoor seating but packs a punch with their high-quality bean and cheese burrito! It was warm, toasted, flavorful, and a good value. I would definitely order again.

I was really hoping to rate this place higher, but my burrito was very mediocre. I will say their red and green sauce are very good, especially the red. They add some well needed flavor to the meat. Al Pastor Burrito: 6/10 The Al pastor was not good. It wasn't juicy, flavorful, or soft. It was tough and there was barely any meat I could barely find it or taste it in the burrito. You can't even see the meat in my photos. It's not spread throughout either. My burrito was cold despite me eating it immediately. I put half in the microwave and it tasted significantly better. The cheese was barely melted. They give you small scoops of all the toppings. The rice was undercooked. The saving grace really was the sauce and the microwave. I might come back but am not in a rush. The people I interacted with were nice. It's cheap for a burrito in this economy but there's a lot of competition.

So I was passing through and spotted this taco place. Always in search of something new and great. Yet to find it. Ordered a chicken taco . So tasty for sure. But I love a nice taco with a fried corn tortilla. Out of ten I think I will give this place a hard 7

This was a very standard chicken quesadilla. The ingredients were fresh and the tortilla was fine. I just didn't think it was anything special.

Moving from California, I have tried so hard to find a good taco spot here but I think The Little Taco house may be my favorite one. The service is grab and go since they are not kidding about the little house part. But don't worry everything is made up in flavor. My favorite is the Al pastor tacos but you can't go wrong with carne asada.

A cheap lunch gem in the West Village for Mexican food lovers that is NOT Chipotle? Sign me up!! In the West Village, it is always challenging to find a cheap lunch ($15 or less, for this area especially) that is filling! So...sad to say that my go-to is usually Chipotle. HOWEVER, I am so glad to be proven wrong--and that there is hope for a great cheap Mexican lunch in a ridiculously expensive area: The Little Taco House! Two things to note: 1. No you cannot eat inside. It is purely a takeout place. 2. They take card! Ok, onward! Everyone gets the tacos and the delicious-looking torta -- I wanted to try their burrito bowl and see how it held up against Chipotle's. Again, I was looking for amount + price -- was not disappointed! I ordered the Al Pastor. And ok, I will admit, at first I was hesitant because the meal isn't filled to the brim...however, I'm just going to say that the bowl is wider than Chipotle's, so don't be fooled by the size! Because it is very filling! Unlike Chipotle, you don't pick and choose what you want inside, and I was fine with that. I will say, though, black beans galore for sure! In addition to black beans, there's lettuce, tomatoes, corn, sour cream, plus your protein over rice. And it was SO GOOD. Drooling now just thinking about it... To treat myself, I also ordered a side of chips and guac. And when I saw the bag of chips, I was, again, hesitant, because that chip bag is very smol. However, upon opening it, I was surprised to see how stuffed it was! Ah, and that guacamole... so freaking fresh. Like when-I-tried-to-go-back-to-eat-it-a-couple-of-hours-later-it-turned-brown type of fresh. I honestly had forgotten how good fresh guac could be. The best part? Honestly? The bowl + chips and guac = $14.64 TOTAL. I was shooketh. I cannot wait to eat here again!! Update: I have now had the quesadillas and they are also deceivingly filling! This time I had the carne asada, and the quesadillas are filled with: peppers, onions, guacamole, pico de gallo, lettuce, sour cream, and even corn! It's three big pieces and only $10.29! This used to be my go-to spot but they've been skimping out lately. it costs me $17 for three tacos and it's more tortilla than it is filling. I asked for sour cream on top bc normally they do that but then they told me it would be $2 extra. when I ask for "extra meat" meaning i want more than 6 tiny pieces of steak it's another up charge :( the guys who work here are so sweet but I just can't justify spending $$$ on a meal that doesn't even leave me feeling full

Best spicy chicken taco, I've had in a while. Carnitas decent as well. This will certainly be a go to.

Really small shop with limited seating. We ordered three tacos and also a tortada. I tried three different meats, carne asada, beef tongue, and fish. My favorite was the beef tongue as it was the most flavorful. The fish piece wasn't fried and was more of a filet. The flour tortillas left us wanting more, they weren't warm at all. Lots of toppings like mild salsa, onions, cilantro, guacamole to fill out the taco. The tortada was also really filling and great value. I'm happy to say that this place is good enough to satisfy my craving for Mexican food without breaking the bank. Local taco shop that I look forward to trying over and over again.

Just moved down the street and thought I'd try the taco stand for a quick and easy meal. There are usually people outside or ordering when I pass by. I ordered a carne asana quesadilla and chips and guac on the side. I actually laughed when I opened my food, this quesadilla feels like a prank. It's just a cold tortilla with largely nothing in the middle lol. Guac tastes like watered down avocado salsa. I'd recommend not testing this place out for yourself

THE AL PASTOR TACO. Get it, and message me later being like "this was the greatest taco, Bonnie, you were totally right." Hiding in this quaint little shop with two chairs and affordable prices (just what the West Village needed), is this taco - it's so rich, flavorful, perfectly charred and spiced, sprinkled with onion and cilantro. We tried others, like the grilled shrimp and pork. These got 3-4 Stars. But the al pastor? 5 Stars!!!!!! UPDATE: get the carne enchilada torta. It is even better than the al pastor burrito! It's on this fluffy bun-style bread, like the one you'd get an egg sandwich on, and with the spicy pork, it's heavenly. Next time we're trying the nachos!

Good tacos for $4 each but the $10 burrito was insulting. After three bites I started to question whether there was any meat at all. I paused eating to stop and inspect the burrito, unable to find any meat. Eventually I realized that there was some meat in tiny little chunks, maybe the equivalent of one Chipotle scoop. At that, it was mediocre quality "carne asada." The burrito was an amateur creation with competing hot/cold temperature zones from various ingredients.

Best Mexican I have had in the West Village. A lot of other options are doing too much or too little. LTH threads the needle with the perfect flavors both in garnishing and in their meats. Burritos are fine, but the tacos are the way to go.

Finally a spot with good tacos in the west village! The price matches what you get in my opinion; juicy little tacos with cilantro, guacamole, and a spoofing of pico de gallo. To me there are similar in style to what your find in CA or AZ. Tijuana, Sonora style. The carnitas were so yummy. Definitely recommend. No seating so plan to take em to go.

Was looking for a quick eats option in the area, and searched this little spot crammed away along West 4th Street. Only a couple of stools inside and a bench outside, this outpost is reminiscent of most Mexican street carts you'll find in the city (but indoors). Menu is straightforward and plenty of options to choose from. Settled on one Carne Asada Taco ($3.80 including tax). Food comes out within a few minutes, including the works of lettuce, salsa, guac, and a lime (unfortunately cheese is extra). taco is thankfully double wrapped as ingredients are spilling out as soon as you take a bite. Liked the flavor of the salsa and guacamole, and while the meat is generous there wasn't much flavor in the steak itself. For a quick grab and go, you could do worse in the area. Keep as an option if you see lines elsewhere.

Given this is a small little shop on one of the random streets in the West Village, the Mexican food was far above my expectations for it. That being said it is still pretty mediocre in the grand scheme for Mexican food, and while the prices are super cheap for the area, it doesn't quite make up for that missing touch. I had three tacos of various meats, and they certainly do hit the spot if you're searching for authentic Mexican food, with correct toppings and seasonings, but execution is a little bit more so-so. The salsa is good, but doesn't have that punch you'd expect from a top notch place, and the tacos themselves are a little on the chewier side. Still, I'd be back just because of the convenience of it being so close by and still being good enough, while also being pretty cheap.

My friend introduced me to this taco shop around the corner on West 4th st and I will be going back every week ! The tacos are not what you would expect in New York in a good way ! Try the al pastor, chicken, or carnitas and you will not be disappointed ! The owner is super nice as well, offering to help with recommendations for what to get. I just wish there was more space inside but it's nice to take the food to go on a nice day and eat outside.

The potential to be good is there but they fall really short with the basics of things. The guacamole, and I use the name guac very loosely, was just a bunch of unseasoned and flavorless mush. It had the same consistency as an avocado spread that's prepackaged in a coffee shop. The tacos were pretty average, and they didn't provide any salsas as I specified. It's fine, but tacos numero uno and Los mariscos is close enough and similar in price that it's worth going elsewhere. My friend got a carnitas burrito bowl and it was insanely awful. The rice was hard, they put NO meat. Insanely salty! Seriously don't waste your time with this place

The following review was written by my 10 year old daughter: THIS IS THE BEST MEXICAN PLACE IN THE WORLD!!!!!!! It makes me feel like I'm stepping into Mexico, when I'm only taking 5 steps!! They have done AMAZING considering their circumstances,they have done a fantastic job, and their food is still AMAZING! How do they do it? The service is also AMAZING, and the people are so friendly! Therefore it is my favorite, place to go to in the village . AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE LITTLE TACO HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Little Taco House has been my favorite COVID-era discovery. Ever since the taco truck in our neighborhood decamped we've been looking for a go-to burrito spot. LTH fills that hole and then some. Tucked away improbably in the heart of the West Village, LTH slings tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and tortas, all at ridiculously reasonable prices. The burritos are oustanding, whether you get carnitas, as pastor, carne asada, or pollo a la plancha. Tacos are also very good, with generous fillings like chicken tinga and cactus. Not to be forgotten, the guacamole is cheap, delicious, and distinctive, not the anonymous gob of green goo you get at many places. Highly recommended. May the Force be with them for many years.

This hole-in-the-wall is a great spot in the west village for some tasty tacos. The shrimp was very fresh and I'll need to try the al pastor taco and burrito next. There is no sit down dining but they have some chairs out front. I highly recommend!

Truly a breath of fresh air. Amid the expensive and often-lackluster West Village dining scene sits a restaurant with delicious food, quick service, and reasonable prices. I came here super hungry around lunch time and ordered a Pollo a la Plancha Burrito, which was lovely and very large. The burrito was prepared in around 5 minutes while I waited outside. There is no indoor seating, but there is a bench outside where you could sit and enjoy your food.

Good grab-and-go taco spot in West Village. It can be hard to miss because there is no shop sign other than a circular picture hanging low in the window (with chairs in front of it), but it is located between two apartment buildings with nothing above it. For two tacos and a soda the total came out to $11-12 with tip - $3.50 a taco pre-tax/tip. Pretty standard menu with tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, tortas etc. Limited seating, maybe 4 barstools against the window with a tabletop and three chairs outside. I ordered the chorizo and the al pastor - coming from California I am picky about what constitutes as a great taco, and the chorizo wasn't my favorite, but it wasn't bad. Overall good spot in West Village for a quick bite!

If you want real authentic Mexican food!? This is the spot hands down! Definitely would recommend the quesadillas and nachos. And for a price like that? You can't beat it!

Best tacos in the West Village! Must not deviate with special requests because they do such volume in a very tiny kitchen front take-out store (seriously most food trucks are bigger) that special requests usually get ignored. But that fits the charm of the place - their menu is just perfect as it is. Stroll by the place during dinner hours and look at the lines and app-based delivery staff clamoring around. Terrific food at great prices.

Great spot to grab quick to-go Mexican food. We've implemented Taco Tuesdays at home since this place came to town, so I'm pumped about that. Anything al pastor is the best (if you like pineapple). Quick service, friendly staff, delicious food. I've long thought it odd that NYC generally lacks tasty authentic Mexican food - these guys are changing that.

Finding good authentic Mexican food in NYC is very challenging. Aside from Los tacos numero 1, I've struggled to find other Mexican spots. Stumbled into this little taco house and decided to give it a try. First impression the place is very small, hence the name. Menu is standard for Mexican food, tacos. Burritos, burrito plates. I had the al pastor burrito and it was solid. Nothing amazing but good Mexican food that's priced very well for NYC. If you're around the area and craving good Mexican with no thrills, definitely give it a try!

Little hole in the wall taco/burrito joint. I live in the neighborhood, so come here often and it always hits the spot. It's quick, easy, cheap, no-no sense Mexican food. I'd recommend the chicken burrito - stuffed to the gills with good chicken, guacamole and the works. Food is always quick, and served with a smile. Be warned - I am a whimp but the spicy was very spicy! Great for a quick bite when hopping around the west village.

This has become my go-to spot for Mexican food. It's a super tiny location, most people get their order to go. The prices are pretty reasonable, especially for being in West Village. I always modify my orders, and they get it right every time. LOVE THIS PLACE!

I order as I leave my office and have Little Taco goodness ready to go a few minutes later when I walk by. The team is always warm and friendly.

The al pastor taco (and burrito) are AMAZING. Previous reviewers who recommended it, thank you because you were right. I usually don't like al pastor because it's too oily - but this place does it right, and with the perfect amount of spice. MIGHT BE my favorite taco in the whole city... Hard to choose between this place and Los Tacos No. 1. Chicken tinga, beef tongue, fish are all decent as well. The meat tacos definitely have more filling than the fish. Good amount for the price ($3.50 - $4 per taco) - I'm usually full from 3 tacos or 1 burrito. I ordered delivery (have not been in-person), and they held up surprisingly well.

Mmm, this place never fails. Not sure why the lady below is giving it a 3 stars... Taco shells are always great, and never chewy. I've been loving their burritos as of late, it's always filled with a tone of veggies, protein if you'd like, and they even are happy to accommodate my lactose intolerance! The lines are always speedy, it's my go to for dinner when I have to be on the run! I always get my order within 5 minutes of ordering. If the lines were long, it would totally be worth the wait.

It's a solid burrito but not the best burrito. Just as you can never have bad pizza, you can never have a bad burrito. It gets the job done. It's a nice local authentic shop and not expensive. I'd eat here again in a pinch. I got the Al Pastor and it was good, just not great. After living in Northern California for a few years and enjoying burritos there, I've been very critical NY burritos. And so the search to for the best burrito goes on!
