14 Best Bakeries for Sweets and Treats in Atlanta

"What started as pastry chef Sarah O’Brien’s farmers market stand has grown into three locations throughout Atlanta: Krog Street Market, Grant Park at the Jane, and the newest shop in the Summerhill neighborhood, just east of Georgia State stadium that also includes a cafe. At Little Tart, the cases are full of beautiful pastries, which change with the seasons. It’s sometimes hard to choose. The bostocks (croissant dough with pecan frangipane,) the croissants, or the fruit-filled galettes are always winners." - Lia Picard, Sarra Sedghi

On the Grid : Little Tart Bake Shop

"At their second location in The Krog Street Market, this sassy little pastry shop with exceptional Octane coffee is a double delight. Made by hand and from scratch, the crème fraiche quiche, local fruit galettes, croissants, scones, and tarts are next-level good. One of each please! Amazing what happens when all those white powders and a little butter commingle in the right loving hands." - Brand Bird

The Little Tart Bakeshop Review - Summerhill - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Little Tart’s newest location brings espressos, coffee, and a huge variety of teas to the under caffeinated Summerhill. But what we love most about Little Tart is the pastries that are so full of flavor that even Paul and Prue would be impressed. Peering into the glass pastry case, it’s hard not to order everything, but the fruit tarts—that are not little in square footage or flavor(strawberry is our go-to)—and savory quiches are always a good idea. Massive windows on either side of the door spill happy light into the sitting area that’s usually stuffed with friends meeting over a cuppa or university students clacking away on their computers. Google
Super cute spot inside Krog market with a variety of croissants and coffee /teas! The quiche was so flavorful, the crust with crispy, buttery, and flaky. The simple coffee had a nice bold taste and the guys there were great! Will definitely be coming back.

Google
We enjoyed an apple pastry as part of a food tour. It was delicious. Pastry was flaky and the filling was cinnamon apples and cheddar cheese. Very good!

Google
What a cute place! The pastries are delicious and they have such a large variety so you definitely have something for everyone. I absolutely love loved everything with blueberries, the earl grey scone and the turnovers. Their coffee is also very rich in flavor which was a nice surprise, I absolutely loved it. If pastries are not your thing, they have breakfast items like breakfast sandwiches that also hit the spot.

Google
An unexpected new find while in the area and already somewhere I want to return to! The coffee was very good and very reasonably priced. I got an iced americano and a cookie for only $7, which is so exciting these days. 10/10 spot!

Jon Hodge

Google
Had a coffee and a croissant from this place. It was early evening so no wait for coffee. Croissant was fresh and perfectly layered and flakey. Would absolutely house seven more of these croissants.

Google
Little Tart at Krog Street Market is hands-down my go-to spot for amazing coffee and out-of-this-world pastries. The coffee is consistently excellent, and the baristas are always warm, friendly, and welcoming—there’s such a great vibe here. But what really sets Little Tart apart is the pastry. I’ve had some of the best croissants and danishes of my life here—flaky, buttery, and perfectly baked. Honestly, they rival (and sometimes outdo!) what I’ve had at good patisseries in Paris. That’s not an exaggeration. Whether I’m grabbing a quick cappuccino or lingering over a pastry, Little Tart never disappoints. If you’re in Atlanta and love great coffee and incredible baked goods, this place is a must.

Google
Amazing pastry. Great quality on croissant dough, perfect flaky and good coffee

Noelle Bryant

Google
Great experience overall, would prefer if they had capability of heating up the quiche before serving. Otherwise phenomenal, pastry, staff and quality ingredients. Loved the homemade lavendar latte.
google avatar

BH B.

Yelp
I had one of the best muffins here- their cinnamon zucchini muffin was scrumptious, moist and flavorful, not too sweet, just perfect.
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
Good desserts at a more than fair price. Tasty and satisfying but there was nothing distinctive that elevated my experience to the point of being impressed, or being long-standing in memorability. If you have room for the calories, definitely get the pecan tart.

Kathleen K.

Yelp
Great pastries! Some are very different! Love the pistachio croissant. Try some arts...the lavender is yummy. Very busy on weekends even if you go really early ! The lines are long but move fast.

Yelp
Grabbed a matcha latte here a couple weeks ago and enjoyed it! Heard they have a few locations around ATL and their pastries looked lovely too, would want to try some next time! Came by on a Saturday later afternoon around 4pm and even though not all the food stands were open, the market was bustling. Seemed like I wasn't the only one looking for a caffeinated pick-me-up since the line was about 8-10 people long. My first choice was a chai since it's got those warming spices for a chilly day, though I asked and the staff said it was a chai syrup they used (not my fave), so I went with a matcha latte $5.75 (and also swapped out regular milk for oatmilk +$1.00) which was made with powdered matcha and could be adjusted to be less sweetened. They usually add vanilla syrup for sugar and I asked for only a dash of that, which was perfect. The grassy and slightly bitter flavor of the matcha hit the spot. Drink took about 7-8 mins to prep. They take cash and card. There's open seating in the market though much of that was taken up by patrons from Hop City Brewing and other food vendors, so best to take your items to go. Bathrooms are available in the Krog Street Market building.

Yelp
This is counter service with tables in the food court. The baker is French trained, and the pastries show it. The apple turnover was light, flakey and delicious with a little chew. The line was long and people were carrying out.
google avatar

Brigitte L.

Yelp
Located inside Krog Market and this place sells out of goodies. So get there early to get the good stuff! They have GF options which are actually really delicious! I got the GF chocolate chip cookie and the blueberry scone along with raspberry hot tea. Everything was delicious! They have seating available and staff was helpful. Parking is not free, fyi.
google avatar

Anna J.

Yelp
I have been to all of Little Tart's other locations so I finally made my way to Krog. Be warned because the line definitely got long this Saturday morning! I opted for a simple treat of a pumpkin spice latte and a chai scone. The latte was delicious and the graham crackers on top were a great surprise. The chai scone was so spicey and soft just all of the little tart's treats are so good. Worth the stop!

Yelp
We came here for the first time on Saturday to try it out after reading their reviews and especially because we wanted to try their Kouign amann pastries. When visiting this location please be advised you will need to find parking and it's not free. We paid $7 for 1 hour on a nearby location to it. When we came inside the place where the bakery is located there was a small waiting like for it. We ordered a variety of different pastries to go and I must say for the most part they were really good. Their filled Kouign amann were very buttery and delicious, so that's a must to have. The service is pretty fast too which was good.
google avatar

Alison L.

Yelp
The Rose and pistachio kouign-amman was perfectly flaky, and the rose filling wasn't too sweet and was just right. I do wish there was more filling but still would definitely recommend. The blood orange chai scone was also incredible, and you can really taste the chai and blood orange flavors. Also, this place has the best bacon egg and cheese I have ever had. Service is quick. Atmosphere is busy as it is located in Krog street market.

Yelp
I've been to a couple of the other Little Tart locations before, and was a bit surprised that there was one in Krog St now. Thought I'd give it a try while I was in the area. This spot is pretty solid, but I wouldn't say it's quite as good as their other standalone locations. It's not bad by any means, but they have less food offerings, and the environment isn't nearly as cozy as their other locations. Still worth stopping in if you're already in the Krog St area, though. One of the best coffees you can get in that area.
google avatar

Rose C.

Yelp
I love bakeries and some good quality coffee! Little Tart is just that. They have a variety of goodies, whether you're craving something sweet or savory. The coffee tastes great, and I'm very picky about the quality of my coffee. I've tried lattes, cappuccinos, and iced drinks as well, they always come out perfect. Fast service so don't be intimidated by the line! I suggest going for a walk/run on the beltline on an early beautiful morning and then heading here for a nice treat afterwards, it's the best way to start my Sundays :)
google avatar

Millie C.

Yelp
Came to little tart Bakeshop that was located inside of Kroger street market. There was already a line early in the day! The line moved pretty fast though. We got the iced matcha latte, chai latte, ham and cheese croissant and a pastry with matcha cream and blueberries. The drinks were really good and the matcha was delicious and didn't have clumps of matcha ! The ham and cheese croissant was really good and had so many layers. The pastry was good as well but the matcha cream flavor was not too strong. The pastry itself was amazing though. Overall, really enjoyed the brunch here!
google avatar

Carolina M.

Yelp
I've been to Krog Street Market many times but never really stopped for anything at Little Tart despite perusing their beautiful pastries. Finally did it this past weekend by ordering a Kouign Aman which was amazing. So amazing that a few hours later, I wanted to come back to buy more to bring home but they were all gone. In my opinion, their Kouign Aman might be THE thing to get because I've never really seen them in other bake shops in the city. You can bet this will be what I look out for the next time in KSM.

Yelp
A notable entry in this food hall was this bakery, which had an extensive spread of pastries. The staff were chatting it up during a brief break so it took a minute for me to actually get service, but the line behind me suggested they would be busy for a while. The chocolate pistachio croissant I got delivered on chocolate and pistachio (and was apparently the last one). Pricey for what it was, but satisfying. They certainly had plenty of other interesting options.
google avatar

Luba K.

Yelp
This was the second location I visited while on my work trip. Great latte and a selection of pastries. Located it Krog Street Market, this was my first of many stops.
google avatar

Caroline J.

Yelp
First time at the Market and needed a sweet treat to end our visit and got a whole wheat cookie from here. This review is based entirely on that cookie and it was delicious. Just the right amount of chocolate chips, crunch and chewiness! Service was a little slow as it was later afternoon and only had two people making drinks and getting the food, but nothing horrible at all.
google avatar

Jen G.

Yelp
Yum! There was a pretty long line by the time I got there around 11am, but the case was still full of pastries of all kinds. My preference is for the savory kind so I was happy with the selections! The pastries were so crunchy and delicious - flakey perfection. There's also plenty of options to get caffeinated as well before you walk around the neighborhood.
google avatar

Rebecca B.

Yelp
Food and coffee are good. I've stopped by 5x and each time the people taking orders are "meh". A few sort of rude. I don't need to be spoiled but a friendly greeting would go a long way.
google avatar

Tanni D.

Yelp
I've passed this bakery stall a couple times when I visited Krog Street Market. Since the lines were always too long, I never tried it until today. The pastries looked great and fresh! I got a Matcha Ginger Tea with honey. The first few sips tasted heavily of ginger before the matcha flavor really kicked in. It was a perfect drink for this cold, rainy day!

Yelp
Little tart is such a treat!!! Any coffee shop with a bar Is a coffee shop For me. The cake was fudgy, creme brulee had the perfect crust, I really enjoyed this place. I imagine working from here on a Friday being a good time
google avatar

Dez M.

Yelp
We had coffee and pastry before jumping on the beltline for a ride. The service and ambience was excellent. Iced Vanilla Latte with a lemon poppyseed paste very flavorful. Staff was friendly and quick.
google avatar

Yelp
Food: Pistachio Cardamom Cake ($4) - delectable! It is so very well balanced. Sweetness with the light fluffy texture and the pistachio & cardamom flavors do come across. My personal favorite of the batch. Raspberry Hibiscus Palmier ($3.50) - extremely delicate and flaky. A bit too sweet for me but this was our son's favorite item. Sweet but a nice refreshing flavor. Tahini Sesame Morning Bun ($4.25) - this was the cashiers recommendation and we are so glad we got it. Overall, the family's averaged favorite. A very nice mellow flavor mixed with the flaky croissant base. Cinnamon Croissant Toast ($3.75) - a bit more hardened than the palmier but very flaky inside. Also very sweet, but a very nice twisted take on french toast. Pumpkin Pepita Crumb Loaf Cake ($3.50) - the most dense out of the batch. The least favorite of the batch overall for the fam. Still tasty and def in season for the holidays. Service/Ambience: very busy inside. It's located in the popular krog market. Went Sunday morning and there was a long line already. Moved pretty quick and staff was nice with suggestions. Overall, many many pastries with a unique twist. Love the flavors they offer and curious to try them all. All great pairings to eat with my morning coffee. Come try these delicious treats out if you are in the area. Very nicely priced for what you get. Unfortunately no military discount.

Yelp
I came by to the Krog Street Market Little Tart Bakeshop while visiting Atlanta. I've had pastries at other locations in the past and knew I wanted one of their delicious croissants. The staff was was kind and friendly. She was helpful with any questions. We ordered a plain croissant, a savory pastry which has broccoli, chickpeas, and cheese, and a lemon poppy cookie. We also ordered an iced latte. The croissant was delicious, flaky, and flavorful. The savory pastry was top notch. Great flavor with the veggies and cheese. The cookie was okay, nice crunch. The iced latte was unfortunately not good. Initially it was made with oat milk when it was meant to be regular milk so it was remade again and it was still not a good flavor. The espresso is counter culture coffee which I've had before but the flavor of the coffee and milk was off. There are lots of options for pastries and breakfast sandwiches earlier in the morning. Definitely a great place for sweets!
google avatar

Yelp
I got the egg Sammy and the valentines special strawberry vanilla tart. I personally don't love English muffin bread much and this one wasn't buttered or crispy and the sandwich would be so much better if the bread was better BUT I love the egg so much that it kinda makes up for what I feel "meh" about. I don't know any other places in Atlanta (though they must exist) that do sous vide eggs in their sandwiches - the best type of eggs! And since it's difficult to make at home it makes it worth it to buy it. I don't actually know that a sous vide is used for these but all that matters is that it tastes that way :) the even is super soft, even, and fluffy. The tart tasted super light and fresh. I love anything with strawberries. I finished all of it myself really quickly‍

Ethan L.

Yelp
I'm a huge fan of carrot cake and this is easily the best carrot cake I've had in my life.
google avatar

Sama C.

Yelp
Needed a quick pick me up so a Dirty Chai is what I needed...extra dirty! Small shop located inside of a building structure which offers many small food joints, liquor store, and bar. This cafe had some unique homemade baked goods and a very yummy Dirty Chai. Coupled with a knowledgeable and helpful staff it made this experience enjoyable.
google avatar

lucy t.

Yelp
Needed a place to hang near downtown Atlanta found Grog Street Market . Inside is the Little Tart where you can see the baker working while you wait for your goodies. I purchased a decaf Americano with 2 shots and a perfectly enormous rose meringue. I love meringue and this perfectly crisp on outside and soft on inside meringue fulfilled all my expectations as did the Americano. Lots of other baked goods as well. Breakfast Sammies sold out by 10 so need to get here earlier. They are open 8 to 7 everyday. Can sit in open area for all vendors or outside. Very nice all around!
google avatar

Andreya Z.

Yelp
Love this place! My friend who regulars there took me on a Sunday morning for breakfast. The parking lot is big but gets full, the line was long but moved quickly! We ordered some breakfast sandwiches, a chocolate pistachio croissant, and some beverages. I had the strawberry matcha with oat milk and it was divine. The sandwich had a thick fluffy egg and wasn't bad. The croissant was perfect. There's tons of seating inside and some tables outside so we grabbed a spot in the sun. Super cute and yummy! Price is average for most breakfast spots in ATL. Would definitely come here on a sunny day and have a leisurely coffee.
google avatar

Jena P.

Yelp
Visiting ATL and stopped by this cute little bakery while waiting. I ordered a jasmine tea and when it was ready the barista yelled "green tea" I didn't respond because I ordered a Jasmine tea. Then we were informed that their jasmine tea is green tea. I asked if I could get another kind and the male barista said "I'm mean yea you can order another one" ...I declined. I have a caffeine sensitivity and it causes me to have painful muscle spasms. I am an avid tea drinker and I'm very aware that jasmine tea is jasmine tea. Jasmine flavored green tea is jasmine flavored green tea. I hate to start my day off with this experience...
google avatar

Aisha C.

Yelp
Cute spot, came in during the latter half of the day and grabbed a quick bite to eat. I got the apple and cheddar turnover ? Not sure of the name but it was delicious, such an tasty combo, I wish it was cheesier. I made the mistake of getting nothing to drink but their drinks look good! Definitely will make sure to try those out next time. Fair prices. Very cute place.
google avatar

Sidéwon Andre N.

Yelp
Cookies were a nice treat after a burger. I got a raspberry cookie and a double chocolate. Double chocolate was delicious! Taste like dark chocolate was used. Raspberry was a treat as well but I could taste the salt content and the cookie was on the crunchier side. I'll be back for more!
google avatar

Can T.

Yelp
Visited this place years ago, came back to ATL for the weekend and Little Tart was in the list of places to visit again. Specially here for the chocolate pistachio croissant... It has a unique taste and a must try. Not everyone would like it, can be little bit heavy for some but the only way to figure out, you should TRY :)
google avatar

Christian L.

Yelp
This shop inside Krog City Market is very cute! The employees were very kind. We ordered the cinnamon croissant toast, it was a bit hard but besides that the flavor was great. We also got a blueberry lemon cookie and it was delicious! It was mostly lemony with a slight blueberry flavor aftertaste. I was surprised because I tend to avoid cornmeal but it was great. I love the fun blue color. Not super expensive.
google avatar

Earnie G.

Yelp
This place is "A-OK," but it's not outstanding. I don't think they are that busy, so I am not sure how fresh everything is. I got 60 cookies from here for an event we were having. They were good, but nothing to write home about. The other items I tried were in a similar class. Overall, a decent little bakery. But don't go out of your way to visit it.
google avatar

Tasha B.

Yelp
This is one of the few pastries where I actually like the outside as much as the filling! The slight cheddar in the pastry was a great compliment to the sweet apple filling.
google avatar

Marilyn T.

Yelp
I came to the location at Krog street market, and surprisingly, they had a good amount of pastries left around 6pm on a Saturday. They had some interesting items including savory tarts, cornmeal cookies, a GF coffee cake, chocolate pistachio croissant, etc. I've been on an almond kick, so I went for the frangipane tart, which was actually quite hefty. It's a pastry base and then an almond paste filling, as well as toasted sliced almonds on top. The tart hit the spot for me since I wanted something sweet and a hint of almond.
google avatar

Nancy B.

Yelp
My husband and I ordered the vanilla iced latte and caramel iced coffee with oat milk. Pretty good iced coffee. But I couldn't really taste the vanilla much. Staff was really nice.
google avatar

Wendy D.

Yelp
Convenient little bakery within Krog Street Market. They don't have the best baked goods I've ever had but they fill that itch Atlanta needs for a good bakery. I enjoy their seasonal rotations and they also sell at the Farmer's Market on Saturday's at Freedom's (but beware, the line is always LONG). I'd recommend getting the variety of croissants they have! I think this location doesn't have as many options as advertised on their Instagram though and the other location is it's own brick & mortar.
google avatar

Emma F.

Yelp
Stopped by the shop as we were in Krog St. Market. I was originally planning on getting a Cholocate and Pistachio Croissant after hearing others recommend it, but I ended up going with the Cinamon Coffee Cake. The cake slice was quite sizable. The texture was moist and fluffy and you can't go wrong with cinnamon in a dessert.
google avatar

Nina W.

Yelp
My sister took me to this bakeshop located in the Krog market for breakfast and I loved it! We ordered the blueberry almond buckwheat scone and the chocolate pistachio croissant and both were really good! But between the two I think the chocolate pistachio croissant is a must-get! The flavor combination was so good and the croissant texture was perfect! I definitely will miss having croissants from this place!

Mark C.

Yelp
Everyone watch out. Even the food is great and the service is great. But watch out. They give you a blind eye on what you are actually charged to your bill. They make every customer that pays the bill 4% surcharge to they can pay the health insurance or sick leave for their employees. Not my responsibility to pay for that. We all pay for our own insurance and everyone should do the same. This is disgusting that a company would want to save a little tiny amount of money for their gain at the expense of a customer to support their employees.
google avatar

Emma T.

Yelp
The coffee is amazing but the bakery is even better. I had a cheese danish which came with some blackberries and a granola crumble. I was blown away by how crispy and rich the pastry was! I suggest getting to the one in Krog market early - they sell out!!
google avatar

Hanna Y. H.

Yelp
Ordered an iced americano and literally got a half filled cup. The barista tried to "lecture" us on what an iced americano is and how it ONLY comes in 8 oz. After I requested "a little more water please" I got a solid 8.5 oz back I have ordered the same iced americano from a dozen coffee shops but have never received a half filled drink or a lecture on what it is. Will not support this business again.
google avatar

Yi H.

Yelp
BEST croissant in ATL hands down. If you ever see their pistachio chocolate croissant, GET IT. They run out of it fast. It's a bit pricey (around $5 each), but definitely worth it. I had one about a month ago and I've been dreaming about it since, but every time I have been there since then they've run out :( I haven't tried any of their other pastries but I've head great things about them!
google avatar

Tiffany W.

Yelp
This bakery is top notch. I'm French and the Kougn a man is pretty great. I haven't tried anything else other than that and a chocolate caramel tart. They both really well made and delicious!! The caramel in the chocolate tart was a bit faint so I put it in the fridge and then all the flavors came together. It takes a lot for a French girl to find a good bakery. This is spot on. I'll be come back to try more. Only downside is the pricing! $10 for two pastries. Limits your options by a lot.
google avatar

Wissal E.

Yelp
Nice selection of sablés and tarts.. HOWEVER, not really liking that you cannot spell CARAMEL... even after I pointed it out to your employee and she mentioned to the owner.. 3 weeks later, it's still spelled wrong..
google avatar

Sabina M.

Yelp
Summer time calls for fresh season fruits and flavors and every so often you find a place that meets every craving. Savory pies, tarts, and breads available along with sweet ones. I only tried one item but everything else on display looked so delicious and i will return to try more.
google avatar

Shan S.

Yelp
The service here is always off. And they are always out of milk substitutes. It's one thing if you don't offer it, but always being out of it, just shows they are always unprepared. This is my 5th time coming and it's always something. Plus the people working are always like "we are out of that but it's okay" I really don't understand that response. Today was a guy with long hair who I've never seen before who said that exact same line that everyone has said before. It's super weird to always respond like that. Seems like they must be trained to respond that way? All in all, I wouldn't give this place business. They aren't local friendly.
google avatar

Lisa S.

Yelp
Gorgeous pastries both in looks and flavor. We enjoyed four wonderful pastries. First was a perfectly delicate hibiscus meringue. The hibiscus dust provided a perfect tart balance to the sweet meringue, and the meringue itself was crisp on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside. Our ham and Gruyere croissant had hundreds of buttery layers. There wasn't a lot of ham inside, but honestly that is my preference. The frangipane tart had a flaky buttery crust and the fresh strawberries, filling and almonds all made for a wonderful, not overly sweet treat. Finally, the buckwheat chocolate chip cookie was just a delicious chocolate chip cookie that any child or adult would love. Some of the item I thought were priced high, others I thought for the quality were priced fairly. We will definitely make a return visit next time we are at KSM.
