Went here specifically to review the place. Showed up in time for sunset and sat on the patio. The view is breathtaking and the outdoor vibe is cool, laid back and friendly. The service was kind but infrequent. The crinkle cut fries were actually really good!

Love the firepit on the back patio. My dog and I enjoyed the view. The cocktails were great! The bartender makes a really tasty cosmo. He used Contreau liquour for the orange flavor in the drink and it tasted outstanding. (Most bars use Triple Sec liquour for the orange flavor in a cosmo.) The NY steak and fries were not very good. The crinkle fries were of the premade frozen variety and tasted like they had been baked in an oven, not fried. The steak was tough. But, what can you expect for a $26 restaurant steak these days? The staff seems very down to earth and genuinely kind. I saw a cute baby rabbit run through the back patio.

Not sure what happened the their old staff but whoever is working now had my table waiting for almost an hour to the point I had to go tp the bar to put our order in. After that the bartender said our server would be over to check the rest of my tables IDs. The server never showed up, I had to walk up again to bring the other IDs. The server looked at it and the bartender then they still came to the table to check IDs without our drinks that I had ordered AND PAID FOR! Then the bartender had to actually bring our drinks because the server did not want to serve us after she watched us walk in.

Came here for bottomless mimosa brunch on Saturday. Super cute local bar with awesome views of the space needle and a great outdoor space. Really enjoyed the mimosas as well as the mac and cheese. I also tried the eggs benedict which was good overall but I think they use hamburger buns instead of english muffins. Solid brunch option in Seattle if you're trying to get boozy early in the day but I'd go elsewhere if food is your priority.

Great brunch spot for a amazing views and truly bottomless mimosas! (i don’t think i saw the bottom of my cup!) service was stellar and we had no problem getting a table on a beautiful morning! portion size was perfect, not too heavy / huge so i didn’t actually feel like i needed a nap after! hollandaise sauce was very tasty overall great for a chill brunch with friends

I found this neighborhood haunt on the ENTERTAINMENT CARD site, where they are listed as a participant in that discount program. I accessed their menus from that site and was excited to check it out. Capital Hill has such compact streets, but we navigated our way from our hotel in Bellevue and found a spot on the street a few blocks from the venue. It was a lovely walk through the autumn leaves and down the sidewalk in front of all the vintage and new apartments and condos. We found this neighborhood gem to be just that....a GEM. We were warmly welcomed into this compact bar and we found a table near the exterior west deck and perused the cocktail/beer list. The classic R & B / vintage rock music was a plus and it set the brunch vibe atmosphere we were looking for. Our service was friendly, efficient and genuine. We watched other patrons both inside and out drinking their bloody mary's and mimosas, and we settled on BEER from their varied tap list. We ordered a tasty burger and fish and chips that was served with a great side of slaw! It was crunchy and well seasoned and the fish, lightly battered and flakey. My dining companion enjoyed playing classic pinball and we really just drank in everything wonderful about this cozy watering hole. Our surprise came when we were informed they didn't participate in the ENTERTAINMENT card program, and weren't sure why they were listed on the site. They did accommodate us and that was appreciated, but we are Grateful they were on the site, as we discovered a lovely establishment with friendly service and great food. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Came for brunch on Sunday. I liked my crab benny but my partner said his breakfast burrito was "just ok". The Mac n cheese we split was pretty good though. $17 bottomless mimosas (until 2pm) were a solid investment and pretty tasty. My partner liked having a French press for coffee too. Though the breakfast food was probably a 3.5/5, the drinks and Mac n cheese were at least a 4/5. Very good value too. Service was very good as well - they kept all the mimosas full and checked in regularly. The inside is kind of a dive bar feel with fun decor in the daylight. The porch does have one small space heater but it's not very warm so we stayed inside. The view was pretty good from the patio though!

Food was good for pub food. The patio has an amazing view of the city, has umbrellas for shade or rain. The service was great, very kind.

i found this places through searches for brunch in seattle/ Capitol Hill and very glad i did! the service, food, bar/restaurant & views were amazing! our waiter was "chase" and he was awesome! he was so nice, very informative about everything & even gave great recommendations to keep our sunday funday going afterwards! the food was very good, we'd been looking for some good local seattle food and everything here was soooo good! and definitely a great variety and something for everyone! we had bottomless mimosas for 17$ and totally worth it! the bar has board games and a beautiful patio with an amazing view of seattle! wouldn't recommend changing anything! and will definitely be back next time we visit seattle :)

I moved to the hill a few months ago and visit the lookout on a monthly basis at least. They have a great HH menu that honestly can't beat anywhere else in Seattle. My favorite is the bfast sandwich and their unlimited mimosas for only $16 on weekends from 11-2pm. They also have HH all day Monday and every other week day until 7pm. Their fries are yummy! And I plan to try more foods on the menu soon. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and the music is great. There's also an outdoor area with a great view of the space needle. It gets busy in the spring/summer but definitely worth the wait. You really can't find a better neighborhood bar.

The food is great! The burger and the coconut shrimp are two of my favorites. Their breakfast sandwich is amazing and bottomless mimosas on the weekends are worth a visit for sure. Sunday night is steak night! A local favorite! A really good deal. Great outdoor patio and the staff is really friendly, attentive, and really great people all around. The owner is really nice as well. The drinks are some of the most affordable in the city for sure. If your new to the neighborhood and live in Cap Hill, be sure to stop by and check it out! They take very good care of their customers especially if you are a regular! They'll remember you... it's like a family!

Cute tucked away bar with a little view of the space needle. Food was good and wine was okay for happy hour, wasn't anything out of this world but still good price and had a nice evening. We had the chorizo balls and the brie wheel both were pretty good! They had games too, which seemed nice to stay and play and then on the way out we saw bottomless mimosas! Can't wait to try those soon

One of my best friends and I have birthdays a week apart, and we came here to celebrate both times. This place continues to be a local gem with good drinks, good food, and great staff.

Cool spot for a casual drink with friends. The inside is cute grungy vibes with fun lights. There is also an outside patio with a small but gorgeous view of the water and mountains. The cocktails are all around $12 and are fun locally inspired drinks. The Rainier Spritz was tasty and refreshing! Not crowded at all on a Friday night and the service was quick and friendly!

A buddy and I came here to grab drinks, so I can't speak towards their food. But right when I came in the place had a good, social vibe. The pricing on drinks was pretty typical. Overall, it was an enjoyable time. I would return again to grab drinks or food. Check it out!

Regrettably, my latest visit to The Lookout Bar and Grill was a letdown. I was overcharged significantly by a bartender named David, and my attempts to rectify the situation with my bank were dismissed by the business. Further, it appeared he was freely serving his what appeared to be friends, which seemed unprofessional and unfair, especially after my own overcharge. it's like I paid for all of their drinks. This experience has left a sour taste and I won't be returning. The management should consider closer employee oversight to prevent such instances. It's a shame, as I used to enjoy visiting here but repeated bad customer service incidents over the years has had me move on from coming back again.

This was the first place we ate at while on vacation in Seattle and it was pretty good!! The bar is super cool/vibey inside. My fish could of used a little more flavor but was overall good! My boyfriend enjoyed his burger. We sat on the outside patio, enjoyed our food & had a couple beers. We visited in October.

Fun place. I want to give it a five, but had a very unpleasant experience during my first time there (and perhaps my last). I woman with brown hair and glasses greeted me. I asked her name as I hate to treat staff as just servants and it's nice to be more personal, especially if I were to become a regular. She gave a cold "Why?" I explained the reason above. She begrudgingly gave a name. Probably fake. But I asked about the beers and soon got a very irritated, "Could you please sit down? You're making me nervous." Apparently, it's a place you are not supposed to stand in? Anyway, I did so and ordered a beer. It was left on a table about five minutes later with my credit card, which she never told me was being left there. Luckily, another staff member located it and let me know. Maybe the first server was hoping someone walked off with it? To be honest, I would have just paid for it and left then and there to find another place with friendlier servers, but my friends arrived and we stayed. I dunno. Maybe she was having a very bad day. Or maybe it was her last day at the place. It just ruined the whole experience. I felt like my presence in the place was not wanted or welcome. And it's hard to now imagine going back. However, the rest of the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food was tasty. The atmosphere was nice. And the view on the back patio is good, although with the cold, no one was out there. I think just maybe just some courtesy tips for a particular staff member would really make this place tops.

Went here for happy hour with my sister and her husband because they had told me about the wings here and wanted me to try it for a while. They were right about the wings! Freshly coated and drenched in Buffalo sauce and it was definitely worth checking out! I usually like my wings with a lot of sauce and so these wings were definitely drenched in the Buffalo sauce which I greatly enjoyed. I ordered a mule as well as some fries and they were both tasty but the wings on the happy hour menu were definitely reason enough to come check it out.

Neighborhood hidden gem! The back patio feels like you're in a treehut. I've never wanted to try the food, feels more like bar vibes and roll the dice on the food. But literally everyone else was eating dinner here so clearly they know something I don't! I literally saw so many rounds of coconut shrimp, hummus, and potato fries ("jojos"). So I finally bit the bullet and got an order of jojos with ranch. So freaking good. Potato heaven. We had draft beers, patio views with a side of jojos. I think this is going to be our new weeknight spot if we need a little escape.

I came here on a Wednesday at about 7:30. Tried to sit outside, but despite the bane, not really a place to look out to lake Union. Ordered a nice pilsner which was good and cold. Ordered the wings. Not to be stingy or anything, but they give you about 5 wings. Not a problem if this was happy hour. But it wasn't. Those good ole 5 wings came out to $13. I'm not a mathematician by any means, but that's about $2.60, a wing before tax lol, so closer to $15-$16 total after tax and tip. . Asked the server if this was the normal amount of wings, and he said it depends on size. So I asked him, well what sizes are there. He explained there is only one size, and one flavor, but that it depends on the "size of each wing". I mean...these wings were not very big, again at best an average sized wing, so if it depends on size that's even more disappointing. I ate one to check it out, as you can see from the picture. They were average wings at best, like you would expect at this kind of a place, a bit on the saltier side. Won't be coming back here. 2 stars because the beer was cold and it was a good atmosphere. I'm guessing it has higher stars because of its location and HH prices in cap hill.

Probably the worst service... Very rude...drinks were really water down. Go to Summit Public...nicer people, same price drinks...grab a pizza next door if your hungry!

Pretty standard bar food, but the vibe and drinks were pretty great. I ordered the fried chicken sliders and multiple cocktails (the best one was the aviation). I don't remember the name of our waiter/bartender, but he was really sweet and put a lot of effort into making our visit enjoyable. The back deck has a view out to the space needle, which is great for pictures too!

We've been here a few times and have never been disappointed by the food or the view. The Lookout burger is definitely worth trying. We've also had the wings and the pretzel (not pictured). It's all good, the burger is great. The drinks have been subpar tbh, always a little too sour. The service is hit or miss, unfortunately the server we've had most often is rude and short--walking away after only one of us has given them a food/drink order even though we're both sitting there. One server we've had was really nice and helpful when we couldn't decide what to get. If you're looking for a first date spot or somewhere to meet up with friends, this is a good choice. But I wouldn't bring folks from out of town here, there's definitely better places nearby for that.

Love this place! Mostly for the outdoor seating... the view is awesome! This is definitely a cool spot to take people when they visit. The happy hour is fun! Decent selection and decent prices. I don't think I've ever actually ordered anything other than what's on their happy hour menu. The service is always nice and friendly and pretty prompt! Food always comes out very timely. Will def be returning!

Chess Club every Monday @6pm. It'll probably be the best night of your week if you like chess. No sign up, all levels welcome, beer.

The back patio with the view deserves 5 stars but the food and service is a 3. Came here Saturday around noon. Wanted to try the happy hour. I was in love with the view. We sat ourselves. Server was ok not really helpful with menu questions and she never came out to check on us while we were out there about an hour. Landed on a beer and a vodka pineapple that were on happy hour. They were good. Decided on an order of fish tacos. Pretty fishy yet bland. Worth maybe the view and a drink but that's about it. There was a gentleman in the bar that helped me with directs to our next spot so I really appreciated him

This is my local. I love it. They have great beer on tap and pretty good food. I love the salad.

This is a neighborhood bar in Capitol Hill. It has a very comfortable atmosphere and a nice casual feel. The bar is very nice and they have a good selection of booze and bars. I just asked for a cab and the one she picked was very good. I was there when it was not busy, but service was quick. I was there for happy hour--where they have some really great deals. Considering the location, it is really inexpensive (my two glasses of wine were just $4 each). I ordered three appetizers. The first was not part of happy hour and was a hummus plate. It included tomatoes, cucumbers, and pita bread. This was nice for a bar--the hummus tasted good and the vegetables were nice and fresh. I would definitely get this again. Next was the coconut shrimp. This include about five shrimp and was just six dollars. It is hard to mess up fried shrimp, but these were a really good size and I liked the two dipping sauces. The batter had a little bit of vanilla flavor to it that was kind of interesting. The final item was the bruschetta. This was an unusual bruschetta, with brie, a slice of pear, and a tomato-like chutney. I was not a fan of this, but I could see how some people might like it. If you are in the area, the Lookout is definitely worth a visit.

Tried to come here a few times and finally found parking on St. Patrick's Day. Cool neighbor pub. Good food and kind staff. We had the wings, coconut prawns and Mac and cheese. I would try to use public transit or walk if you are within walking distance. Parking is tight but shouldn't stop ya from checking it out.

Love this bar! Best view in the city! Been coming here for years, happy to see they are thriving during tough times even! Great patio, heaters, covered with a view! Great staff and great atmosphere! Check this place out!!!

Charming in general, cheap drinks, decent deck view, slow service, overall ok. However, on my last visit on 10/6/2019 while visiting from out of town they literally lost my credit card. Literally. Lost. My. Credit. Card. At one point some worker asked me if I might have it while the server was saying she knew she had taken it but at some point, the index card holder they kept cards in had fallen over and my card went missing. Just gone. They told me they would call me the next day. They didn't. They told me they wouldn't charge me. They did. It's 10 days later. I haven't heard from them and now have to argue the charge with my bank bc I took The Lookout's staff at their word that they wouldn't charge me but, alas, my trust was misplaced. So, word to the wise, just close your tab rather than having them keep your card.

I admit that I'm a sucker for a good patio, and this was billed to me as one of the best. It did not disappoint. The food is nothing to write home about, but our servers were quite charming and I even liked some of the clientele we were sitting around. This has felt (increasingly) unusual to me in The New Seattle, so I welcomed it. Solid drink list. Recommended!

Wow what a hidden gem! The food was great, the drinks were great, the outdoor patio was great and the servers? They were awesome! I'll definitely be coming back.

We have been here twice for late night (10-11pm) drinks and snacks on a Friday. I am always surprised by the good food and service The atmosphere itself is a no nonsense neighborhood bar. The bartenders are pleasant and friendly. The food is pretty decent bar food (burgers, fish and chips, apps). It always hits the spot. The bar isn't busy and it's too loud. We have yet to go during the day and sit on the patio which as the names suggests, has a pretty beautiful view of the Olympics, space needle, and city view of Seattle.

Went in this morning for brunch. Was greeted by a very gracious pair, one of which I assume was a bartender and the other being a bar manager possibly? Couldn't tell the difference (in the best way possible) since they both seemed to be holding things down.Kicked things off by ordering the bottomless mimosas and they definitely kept them coming. Once my friend joined me, I ordered the the fish and chips because I haven't had any since living out in Connecticut which I'm now realizing made me some what bias since the east coast has incredible fish and chips. The fact that I hadn't even thought about how I have quite a high standard should surely show you how great the food was. The music and over environment was amazing. The service was fantastic. The bartender was hustling! Have you ever gone to a restaurant and it wasn't too busy, yet that only offered the staff a lack of urgency? Ironic as it is, that's been my experience. Not here! She was on top of everything. I recall taking the last sip of my mimosa and just so happen to stare off in the general direction of the bar and she was whipping up another mimosa like there were 30 people waiting for a drink. I'm impressed and when it comes to bottomless mimosas, I'm always here for it. BUT, you mean to tell me I can come here and know the staff has got my back like that? Now I'm loyal. I'm grateful. Because I appreciate that. Major key alert! This is THE go to brunch spot lol. (You know it's real when you make a DJ Khalid reference) I mean when I asked for my check, she brought it back with a mimosa. Next level. I'll be back!

Best neighborhood bar ever. Will be moving from Seattle next month. Great views. Great Happy Hour. Only place I'm really, really, going to miss. You can count on me being here when I'm back for work!

really bad food really bad service. bottomless mimosas are cheap as hell and thats probably the selling point for this place.

They definitely tried their best. We showed up on a Monday for all day happy hour so that's our fault for not realizing it would be so busy. We sat inside, they allowed our pup to hang with us. they do no bar orders( understandable)..HOWEVER, it took probably 15-20 min before our order was taken and we were right in front of the bar. That was really our only issue, but it did suck.

This place cannot figure out how to keep its deck speakers FROM blasting for their cleaning crew at 5am. FIGURE IT OUT. YOU JUST WOKE UP ALL YOUR NEIGHBORS. AGAIN.

The Lookout is most definitely a neighborhood bar. No one's going to schlep all the way from Shoreline to come here. But for those of us who live on Capitol Hill, it's a chill, inexpensive place to hang out at. The patio is, unsurprisingly, the biggest draw. The view overlooking Lake Union and the Space Needle is always pretty, and always popular. When it's too cold or rainy to be outside, you can pretend to be out on the patio by staring out the large, glass windows. The bottomless mimosas and seriously affordable brunch prices are another draw (well, at least for me). Brunch is only on Sundays, but there's never a wait, and it won't burn a hole in your pocket--expect to spend about $30 total if you get an entree and a bottomless mimosa. And no, they won't kick you out, but they will stop serving the mimosas at 2 PM (which is when brunch officially ends). The rest of the bar is nothing special. The food is pretty average, but at least it's fairly inexpensive. The drinks are nothing to write home about, and the tap list is fairly boring by Seattle standards. But hey, it's affordable, usually devoid of obnoxiously flashy folks, and quiet enough for conversation.

It's 2017 NYE and we called in to this place to see if they had a line and cover. The gal who picked up was extremely rude. She answered, Hello, in a rushed and abrupt way. I presented my questions: 1) Is there a wait 2) Is there cover She replied literally, no and $15, then hung up. Seriously?!?! I know it's New Year's Eve, but a 10 second convo without even saying, hello the look out, or, bye, was a deal breaker for us. Terrible experience and we didn't even go.

Pretty ridiculous encountering that I haven't had in Seattle since moving here. Called ahead of time to ask if the location was dog friendly in order to come in with our puppy. We got very enthusiastic vibes on the phone mentioning that both the patio and indoor area is dog friendly. Great, right? We walked in and before even a greeting, the lady at the bar barks asking if our dog was a service dog. After nicely letting her know he is an ESA, we were very uncomfortable as one normally would be after being barked at before even taking ones sunglasses off. so... if you're heading here, just know that it's absolutely not dog (or human lol) friendly unless they are service/ESA.

I never yelp but I feel it is necessary now as this was the worst breakfast I have ever had in my life. Couldn't even tell the staff how bad it was because no one bothered to ask or stop by the table. Neither my boyfriend or I ate any of our meals. Do not waste your money.

I ordered the chicken club sandwich, which was pretty good. The "jo jos" are actually quite nice -- a change from your typical french fries. It was ~8PM on a Saturday night and we were able to sit at a table without a wait. The bartender could use a bit more smile though -- he seemed to just really be stoic the whole time.

We walked in to this establishment on a nice Monday afternoon and received the type of welcome you hope to get from every bar. The 'chef' overheard a comment from one of the members of our party and she was erasing one of the specials off the board, "Ah, I was just coming in for the shrimp." The 'chef' looked over at us/him and said, "You'll excuse me if I don't laugh at your [air quotes] joke." Being quite serious. We were going to order food but decided not to because we thought she might spit in our food.

First time to this little place. We were looking for bars that had trivia and this popped up. Great food, drinks, and you can't beat the view. HOWEVER the trivia was ridiculously hard. I'm talking the first category was 10 questions about famous archeologists. I love trivia but it wasn't even fun. The moderators seemed to revel in our suffering. The questions don't need to be super easy but Jesus guys ease up a little bit.

Great happy hour for food! Half-off select food items until 7pm every weeknight (weekends are until 4pm) and all-day happy hour on Mondays! My favorite go-tos are Mac'n'cheese with spinach, Coconut Shrimp, and Wings! They also have the occasional Beer and Braut deal that I'm a sucker for too. But that said, I'd only come here for happy hour and for their nice staff! For just $5, I LOVE their mac'n'cheese ($1 extra if you want spinach or bacon)! I really wish I could just hop back into the kitchen just to see how they make it because it is so dang good! A hearty portion of nice, creamy, cheesey, gooey mac'n'cheese... What else could a girl ask for? If anything, get mac'n'cheese, you won't regret it! If you're ever in the Cap Hill area, be sure to check out their happy hour. Nice dive bar, very homey (they've got a fireplace!!), and the view from the back patio is great as well. Their staff are light hearted and funny- there's a super friendly sparky lady (I think Karen is her name?) who has a great smile and endless energy that I wish I could have. Like many other yelpers have mentioned, this is indeed a hidden gem known to locals!

So here's the thing: I'm very easy to please. The food was fine. The drinks were fine. BUT: We came on a Sunday evening at about 5 and stayed until 6:30. We looked at happy hour menu that said the hours were daily from 4 to 7. We held the happy hour menu in our hands and pointed to it while we ordered. However, when we got the bill we did not get happy hour prices on anything. What should have been a $50 bill for three people who ordered exclusively off the happy hour menu came out to be $91. Now for full disclosure the menu said "Daily 4-7" and below that "Saturday & Sunday 12-4". I interpreted that to mean that the happy hour just began earlier on Saturday and Sunday. Maybe that makes me and everyone at my table idiots, but I looked up "daily" to make sure. Here's the definition: "Every day". I brought this up with that waitstaff who agreed that the menu was confusing and Sunday was indeed a day. They offered to discount "some" of our items. I was dissatisfied with this, but decided to bite the bullet and meet them in the middle. The discount: $4. Thanks? I get that the menu times can be interpreted differently, but they had several opportunities to tell us while we pointed to the happy hour menu that it was not happy hour according to their interpretation. They also failed to rectify the situation after the fact. Boo. Fix the menu. Not coming back.

I love this place, the staff are all so friendly and there's great happy hour deals till 7. It's also dog friendly, they'll give you water bowls and sometimes they give my dog bacon so he loves coming with me. I finally tried the food here and it was surprisingly good. I had the grilled chicken club and my boyfriend had chicken tenders which were a special for the night.

Neighborhood bars/spots like this in Seattle are disappearing at a rapid clip, and it'd be a terrible shame to not have places like this - especially with the massive outdoor patio and the view of Lake Union. The drinks are always served quickly, and are boozey without being all alcohol. I'm particularly fond of their moscow mule (which isn't quite the normal recipe, and isn't served in a copper cup, but is still good). The food here isn't anything to write home about - typical American fare - but it's good enough for divey-bar food. If you live in this north/west part of Capitol Hill you'll definitely want to make this one of your go-to casual drink spots.

An earnest but still vibey dive with an eclectic crowd and cheap drinks. This place gets most of it's points for atmosphere. It was a fun spot to hit Thursday night with Karaoke gearing up into full swing. There came a point where each person's eccentric performance topped the one before. The service was very friendly and attentive despite being pretty busy. There was an eclectic crowd, yet a bit of a community feel. People seemed pretty comfortable talking across tables to strangers. The Moscow Mule left much to be desired. It didn't pack much of a gingery punch, but on the other hand, it was extremely strong. I can't speak to the food. This place is fairly cramped and there aren't really any bars next door to scamper to if there's nowhere to sit. Not a great option for groups, although there was one large table with about a group of eight. The name is a little misleading in the winter. There are only a couple tables by the window. I wouldn't hesitate to come back here, especially for Karaoke, but would maybe try to arrive early to make sure I get a table.

Came here with a few friends for the first time. The atmosphere is cool, there's an indoor area that have cute lamps hanging from the roof. The outdoor area that have an ok view of the city. We got in around 8pm on a Friday night. I kind of expected the bar to be crowded but it's actually half empty, hmm wonder why. We ordered shrimp scampi, lookout burger and chicken burger. Even though the bar is half empty it took our server quite some time to bring out our food, and forgot our friends drink. In terms of food the shrimp scampi was kind of bland and same with the burger. I didn't taste much taste from the patty of the burger and most of the taste came from the onion and pickles. Overall I say it's an ok place to go but don't hold high expectations.

Favorite part? Happy Hour! There are no food specials, but there ARE specials on wine ($4), wells ($4), and microbrews ($3). The bartender, space, big patio, view, and clean bathrooms were nice too. I like that they have a tiny plant nursery for a neighbor. I couldn't bring myself to order the jalapeno margarita, but that one was quite a hit. I'll have to tell my spice-loving friends about it! I was surprised that I enjoyed the 1554 Enlightened Black Ale because I usually only like lighter beers. I also enjoyed the Rose (wine) they had available (not sure of name, they only had one kind though). The only bummer there was that it wasn't served in a wine glass. I hope there are some wine glasses in their future. Oh, and then there was the food. The quesadilla was pretty good and had some interesting flavors going on. I'm not sure about the hummus, though. I have friends from Israel who make the most amazing hummus I've ever had, and the texture of this was different. It was pretty good... just different. I believe it was also slightly flavored by a sprig of what I think was lavender. Lavender hummus? I'm not sure about that. The food was pretty good... but, I don't know, I was more interested in the drinks. In any case: It's a pretty great place to come with a big group or with a small group. We had about 20 Yelpers show up so we took over the raised area with the tables by the windows (which, we discovered, could be opened- love fresh air!). There were about 1-2 groups of about six people, several 2-person groups, and several folks sitting alone at the bar. It was a nice mix. I'm definitely down for spending more time here in the future... especially between the hours of 4 and 7pm!

As promised, I went back to the Lookout and give it a second chance over a month after visiting the first time on opening night. Let me very blunt, this place straight up SUCKS - it is not cool, the service sucks and the food is vile. I want this place to kick ass since it's so close to my place. So my girlfriend and I popped in on a Friday night around 7ish after a beautiful sail on Lake Union. We sat out on the back patio- a great view when standing up (but hard to see when you're sitting down)... Ok - so I order 2 drinks to start: a jalapeno margarita extra spicy and a regular jalapeno margarita... As it turns out they didn't have enough jalapeno! What's up with that? They only have 5 cocktails on the menu (4 if you exclude the whiskey/tallboy) so the fact that they were missing ingredients was pretty lame. Anyway... halfway through our drinks we decide to split an oyster po'boy sandwich. So I go to the bar and order... It's quite unfortunate that you need to order drinks from the bar (especially since someone brings the food to your table, busses empties, etc... Po'boy arrives in about 15 minutes. Cut-in half - perfect! We each take a bite at the same time and both have the same reaction. Vile, disgusting, YUK. The oysters were covered in uncooked batter - did the chef forget to fry them or something...? The bus boy notices we're not eating, so I told him what was up. He awkwardly said "Weird" and took it away, no "I'm so sorry this happen", NADA... We quickly finish our margaritas so I can go home to vomit (just kidding- but it was NASTY)... I go to the bar to close my tab- 2 issues here: 1) He charges me for the uneaten/uncooked travesty of sandwich 2) the po'boy is billed at $10.95 even though the menu lists it at $10 First- I question the price... Bartender says the menus are just placeholders and the prices listed aren't right... WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN? Then- I go on to question why I am even charged for it... Turns out the bus boy did not mention it to the bartender... He ended up taking it off the bill.. $14 bucks for two mediocre margaritas + tip, and I'm outta there never to return again! This place seriously blows and doesn't stand a chance- I bet it won't survive more than a couple of months before going under.

Excellent service, great food and drink selection. I can't say enough about this place. Plus the view is killer and the music is too. They never disappoint!!
