"Seattle’s iconic Smith Tower, the city’s first skyscraper, is opening a new rooftop bar for the summer. The Lookout, which was previously only open for private events, will sling adult beverages for the public on a temporary basis, from August 8 through the end of September. If the nice weather holds, Smith Tower may extend the pop-up into October. The Lookout sits on the 22nd floor of Smith Tower and has an indoor and outdoor space with a fire pit, games like Jenga and Connect Four, and shade umbrellas. As with the 35th floor observation deck and Observatory Bar, The Lookout’s views extend over the waterfront, downtown, the stadiums, and beyond. Starting August 8, The Lookout will be open daily from 4 p.m. to dusk for patrons 21 years and older. The Lookout’s menu will be more limited than the Prohibition-era cocktails served upstairs. Options will include beer, cider, and wine, plus “light bar snacks.” Entry will cost $10 per person, which covers a visit to the ground floor exhibits, an elevator ride, and a $5 food and drink credit. Anyone wishing to continue their journey to the 35th floor will need to buy an additional ticket." - Megan Hill
