Miami’s 13 Essential Burgers

"This burger is not for beginners. Chef Richard Hales’ Gussied Up Triple Burger combines stacked and smothered triple brisket and short-rib beef patties, butter-poached lobster, fried green tomato slices, pepper bacon, key lime mustard sauce, and a vibrant orange marmalade, all on a bun. And instead of using a traditional slice of cheese, Hales covers this burger with fondue made with raclette cheese." - Amber Love Bond

Miami’s 15 Best Spicy Dishes

"Chef Richard Hales serves up all sorts of Southern comfort dishes at this unpretentious spot inside The Confidante Hotel in Miami Beach, but it’s the Chef Hale’s Hot Chicken that is the star of the show for those seeking something hot. The recipe is Hales’ take on Nashville-style fried chicken served over Zak the Baker bread and topped with a drizzle of Chinese hot mustard, local honey and house-made pickles." - Alona Martinez

Meh. Over 30 bucks for a burger and fries. The burger was ordered medium and came well done. Asked for a side of aioli and the server asked me which type. I opted for the truffle. The amount that came was barely a tablespoon and it was the pimento instead. An included 21% service charge for, I guess literally just putting the box of food in front of me while I sat at the bar? Maybe it’s this place or maybe it’s Miami, but something needs to get over itself.

I had a great stay at the confidante hotel it’s self but I was not happy with the bar specifically. Upon arrival I was never acknowledged and when I was I asked for a simple glass of water and didn’t get that at all and closed my tab immediately. The service was very poor in 8/14. I had high hopes and read a lot of reviews. Unfortunately I didn’t get the service that everyone got.

Buffalo wings were excellent. Fried enough to be crispy and delicious sauce that wasn't too spicy. Just right!

As a Hyatt employee I approached the service counter to place an order for to go I waited for 30 minutes for someone to assist and they just stood in the back at the bar staring at me…..this is very poor customer service being practiced here I should NOT have to approach them

Yelp
You always feel like a VIP guest at The Confidante. From the moment your uber arrives on the driveway, a bellman will open the door for you & grab your luggage as well. From there, the typical process of check-in. I love how spacious and green the lawn at The Confidante is. There are 2 pools (one for adults only), plenty of palm trees for shade, cabanas for rent, beach lounge chairs with access to the beach, and a bar and more. You can order food and drinks from either your pool chaise or directly at the bar. Basic options, nothing outstanding about the food, just overly salted and way overly priced.

Yelp
Got a resort pass for a day bed here and it was such a fun and nice experience! You get access to the hotel pool from 9am-9pm, when you get to the pool the staff helps you get situated (shout out to G for being so attentive and always making sure our drinks were full --you're the best!). They day bed pass included $200 of drink and food credit and they give you complimentary water, fruit bowl & popsicles are handed out around noon for a little refresher. My friend and I had such a fun day and laying out, enjoying the pool, beach access and the food was super delicious! Also worth nothing there is an adult side and a family side each with their own pool so you get to relax kids-free or with your family depending on your need! We ordered calamari which was a pretty big portion and shared the club wrap with fries (upgraded to truffle parm) and the mac and cheese they get from house of mac which was all delicious! Super fun experience for a little staycation, will definitely have to plan another one.

Yelp
The Confidante is located in mid beach Miami and has the perfect mix of family friendly (North beach) and a fun, young scene (South Beach). I booked a day pass through Resort Pass for $35 (really great if you've never used it) and enjoyed my stay a lot. Location: The hotel is located on popular street Collins Ave and sits right along the beach path and steps away from the beach. Bonus, there's a CVS right across the street to grab any goods you may need. Service: Staff was extremely friendly. They checked on me often beside the pool and when I went to grab lunch at the bar the service was even better. The staff was quick, efficient and fun. Many thanks to the bartenders because they allowed me to charge my laptop at one of the only plugs that they had outside and they made sure that my computer was safe. Amenities: They have two pools here (one for family and one for adults only) The seating arrangements were great because some were directly in the sun while some were sitting underneath palm trees and shaded. They have complimentary towels and water AND from 12-4pm they pass out complimentary ice pops. I was so excited every time they brought them out because it was so nostalgic. Food: Pretty average. Prices inflated because of the location but expected since you're in Miami Beach. I got their Cuban sandwich for $21 + an already added 21% service charge + tax so the total was ~$28. The sandwich was fine however there's tons of other spots in Miami that make wayy better cuban sandwiches. Check out this Hyatt hotel with lots of art deco details for the day or for your entire stay in Miami Beach.

Yelp
The art deco style was really cool, and we loved our room "Miami Suite", but this hotel fell short in many critical ways. 1) Short staffed by the pool and at restaurants 2) They didn't clean up by the pool once during our two day stay. There were wet napkins and pieces of food sitting on the ground by the chairs at the pool. Disgusting! They were there for multiple days! 3) The food at lunch in the main restaurant was terrible and so was the service. No one checked on us one time, and the food was ridiculously expensive and also low quality. They gave my wife a different sandwich from what she ordered, and when she mentioned that as it was being served, the waiter blamed the previous waitress who took our order and then just left and didn't check on us again. 4) The food at the breakfast buffet was gross! The only thing "premium" there was salmon, and everything else was the same as a continental breakfast at a Hyatt Place. 5) No one was by the area with the towels and we were forced to go behind the desk and get our own each time after waiting as long as ten minutes without seeing anyone. We complained about all of these things to the front desk when we checked out, and our lunch was comped, but that happened before we even complained or checked out, so it could have to do with our Globalist status.

Yelp
The Confidante is just one of those places that helps you escape Miami without ever leaving. We LOVE the mid-century design that permeates the whole hotel. This is a great place to stay and relax when you want the beach vibe minus the Miami Beach feel (if you know what I mean). On-site restaurant and bar are great, and they have some good house cocktails. Definitely a great place to try if you're looking to do a staycation, or even a home away from home if you're coming from afar.

Yelp
There's a fragrance in the air that enthralls you as the huge doors are opened for you. Immediatly followed by soft Spanish music and a romantic interior design with soft lights and huge chandeliers. A restaurant area just as defined in upscale design surrounds your left. The rooms are comfortable in their retro feel offering a oversized shower, Refrigerator and comfy beds. But go out back and it's a whole different world.. It's a cool vibe daytime and a Miami Party Scene at night. So bring your white fashionables..your bathing suits and your wallet... and leave with some great memories.. fyi.. Valet parking is only offered..$50.

Yelp
Stayed at the Confidante this weekend for one night. Overall I would give it 3-4 stars. The design, concept and theming of the hotel is really cool and looks great. I do really like that! Location is great right on the beach. The pools are small and chairs fill up fast. You do have access to the beach as well! A few things about the room, which was just okay I thought. Booked a 2 bed room it was located in the 9th floor and it did have a nice view of the ocean! It seemed they had just performed work on the walls of the room, as there was powder all over the carpet on the door handles and some of the fixtures. Appears like they sanded the walls after repairing them but didn't really care to clean anything up. The dust was all over. The attention to detail in the cleaning of the rooms was minimal. The beds were nice, but every surface was dusty. The baseboards were all covered in dust as were the bed frames and the fridge cabinet. It doesn't seem like it would be hard to vacuum up.... Now as for the food and drinks. We had 3 drinks in the afternoon at the pool bar. And it was honestly insane the prices. For just THREE drinks it was $95.... Each one was $24 and there is an automatic 21% service charge added to all checks no matter what! I watched him make the drinks only a 1.5 ounce pour for $24. Also there was a smaller drink choice for $17 on the menu but the bartender automatically made the pricier one of course. We also got a coconut the second day and it was $24 as well. Same pour of a 1.5 ounces. They said they no longer use pineapple rum which is listed on the menu that the coconut has 2 types of rums. So he only poured Bacardi but offered no substitution and kept the pour count lower than it should be. 2 ounces of liquor should be the minimum for $24. But we got a single of Bacardi that's it. $68 for 2 coconuts Speaking on service, it was minimal. Servers and bartenders are giving you the bare minimum they can and you still have to give them 21%. Nothing really good in terms of service at the hotel, it was just okay.

Yelp
A lot of the hotel was under construction which was not mentioned online when booking. Great location though, beach right behind the hotel with designated chairs for hotel guests. The drinks and food at the beach weren't too bad, a little pricey though. You're limited to two chairs per room though which was a little frustrating. Close by to other fun locations, walking distance from LIV nightclub. Staff was super nice, we took a red eye and they let us in our room at 9am - lifesaving honestly. We went for my bachelorette, but no upgrades were offered unfortunately.

Yelp
ResortPass review only. We did not stay at the hotel. The Confidante works with resortpass.com to provide day passes to the hotel pool area. We found this ideal since our cruise ended early on a Monday morning but our flight wasn't until the evening. For $125, we got a "day bed" at the Confidante. We opted for this over just as chair ($35/ea I believe) because we could get a bar credit for the amount we paid. We were welcomed upon arrival and the bellhop took our bags for storage during the day, super simple. Overall, it was a fine experience. The pool area is quite small, with the family-friendly and adult-only pools separated by about 30 feet. There did not seem to be much enforcement of children not to be in the adult pool, as kids were splashing around several times throughout the day. The daybed was really two reclining chairs hooked together. We did get several towels and the attached pillow was nice. G was our bar server and very helpful. Not surprising, the hotel bar was expensive and noted an automatic 20% tip added to all orders (so make an expensive meal 20% more expensive by default). We ordered a watermelon alcoholic drink that was delicious, the mac n cheese, salad, and chips and salsa. The mac n' cheese was delicious, the others were just fine. For pool-goers and those wanting tons of sun - this hotel is right along the east cost beach. The pool and beach are also close to the building, so it was about 2pm when the sun was hidden behind the hotel. It was a bit strange, but there was a photo shoot going on at the pool deck in one of the cabanas - one cameraman and one model. We found lots of clothing tags all over the floor in the ladies room as well - not sure they are related but very suspicious. It was a nice day and I'm glad we had the opportunity to do something while waiting for our evening flight. For strictly the resort pass, I would probably opt for a different hotel that had a larger pool area that would hopefully have sun later in the day. The hotel seemed very well taken care of.

Yelp
We used the pool amenities at the Confidante during the July 4th weekend. We arrived early and enjoyed the pool. Our server Smart, was fantastic and made our time there enjoyable. We received complimentary water and fruit and once the towels arrived by 11AM, we got a fresh set out towels. We ordered the watermelon smash and the painkillers to start with, they were great and the bartender was generous with the tequila and rum. For food we ordered the chips and guacamole which was absolutely fresh and the the grilled shrimp bowl and marinated steak bowl. The facilities were very clean and well maintained.

Yelp
This place is quite the cute beach side hotel. Staff is a little blunt. I didn't have a menu for the hotel and called down to ask a couple of questions about the menu and the girl said, "That's not how it works. Go look at the menu and call back when you're ready to order." I'm hoping y'all can see the dilemma. Anyway, that was a small hiccup. We got upgraded to the larger suite for free since we're Globalist status facing the ocean which is quite precious. The building is an old building that's been revamped so it's looking pretty good and doesn't even smell like some ocean side hotels tend to. Loved sleeping to the sounds of the ocean. Small annoyance in the room is that if you have the balcony door open, a doorbell ding rings out every single minute and you can't turn it off. Thought someone was ding dong ditching us at first lol. Even though the staff could be a bit nicer, it's a fine place to stay. New discovery - we called down for a Bloody Mary and they said they don't deliver bloody Mary's to the room. We asked do you send any alcohol to the room? They said yes but just not bloody Mary's...so we go down to the bar and order a Bloody Mary and 10 minutes later get told they're out of Bloody Mary mix. Sigh.

Yelp
Booked a day pass for the pool and beach access and loved it! They hand out popsicles poolside and have a great drinks and food! The beach chairs are also super aesthetic and great for taking those very necessary Instagram pics! Very much worth the day pass and would come back again. There was plenty of pool seating the servers were attentive, and the vibe was relaxed with a little bit of Miami party flare!

Yelp
We had a comfortable stay, and that's about it. They lend you 2 beach chairs and towels and is easy walking distance to the beach. The pool was under construction during the time we went so our night stay was discounted but not by much. Our room was not ready by check in time and we never received a text from then when it would be ready even though they stated that they would notify us. Not a huge deal- since we killed time checking out rest of Miami, but i imagine if I were coming with kids, this would have been very inconvenient and annoying. While they did compensate us $50 credit for our room not being ready, I really wish they would have informed us that $50 credit can be used for the fee that is charged when you arrive and check in at the hotel. I knew I would owe the hotel money when I looked at my booking receipt, but I did not know the credit could be used towards that. If known, we would not have gotten breakfast at the hotel and found somewhere else to try in Miami before flying out. Their lack of transparency really did it for me. So of course, I was charged breakfast on my card. On top of that, their breakfast place was packed - I'm guessing because they offered the $50 credit to everyone whose rooms were not ready. I felt terrible for the nice waitress who was running around kindly apologising. A gentle advice for management - if you are offering a $50 hotel credit without notifying the guests that it can be used for the fee charge, expect your bar and breakfast to get swarmed. Then, the correct management would have been to equip the bar and breakfast amenities and staff appropriately. Not to mention, the 7th floor air conditioning in the hallways was a mess. It was FREEZING. we didn't say anything because I didn't want to deal with the reception again. I do want to say that the front desk receptionist was very nice but c'mon. Train your staff correctly and manage the place better. Niceness only does so much when the place is not being managed properly. To clarify, I am frustrated at management- NOT the staff at the front who are working their butts off and doing their best. The only positives is the closeness to the beach, the beach towels and chairs (as I mentioned above) and if you're a runner, the hotel is so close to the sidewalk which is nice to run in the morning. My advice is to save yourself $50-150 (depending on the time you go) and get a hotel down the street or across the block. Still very walkable to the beach and you won't have the amenities but it's better than getting disappointed by paying so much to get subpar service. If you want to stay here as a family for convenience, skip the bar and breakfast. Silly expensive.

Yelp
Vibes: Check Amenities: Check My mom's friend was coming to visit and wanted to book a stay at a hotel with beach access. The Confidante seems to cater to all crowds, so I suggested it. We did very much enjoy our stay, and they gave me kudos for the selection. This is the perfect hotel for some of that classic retro charm you look for on Miami Beach, with candy-colored umbrellas and loungers and terrazzo floors. There are two pools: one for family and one for those without kids. Lounge chairs can go fast, so if you arrive late it can be slim pickings. I appreciated the freely flowing Sun Bum SPF they had everywhere and the ice cold water. They even came around with popsicles and cold towels. The beach is equally as nice (Aaron helped us; he was great). The beds were comfy, the room was spacious with a nice balcony and view. It's not a 5/5 because of a few hiccups. The room was supposed to be ready at 4:00. We showed up at noon and just waited at the pool. Eventually we needed to shower and get in the room, so we checked at 4:00. It wasn't ready until nearly 5:00. We were miffed. The mini-fridge didn't keep anything cold, and likewise, the AC was warm too. It went up to 79 in the room at one point. It was not really user friendly, but eventually I figured it out. All in all, a stay here is certainly not cheap, but you can keep yourself entertained here for a weekend. The beach and pool are great.

Yelp
I was so pleased with our hotel! First things first, the location is perfect if you want to enjoy Miami but not be around ruckus. It's north mid beach so.. very quiet. The bar area is nice and they have a good restaurant inside as well; I didn't go in this time but have enjoyed prior during my trips to MIA. Our room was on the 8th floor...very art deco.. I do think they need to update the room a bit though.. I get what they're going for but there is a way you can still achieve that with a more modern look... great water pressure in the shower (notable mention, lol)... perfect beach access .. I think it's very important that beach access is a high point while booking in Miami.. you walk right across the boardwalk to the beach .. two chairs and an umbrella are provided but get out there early otherwise you won't snag the spot you want.. the pool area I could do with out.. a family pool (for kids) and an adult pool... both just packed to the brim and kind of gross but typical of Miami... I'm more of a beach chick anyway.. we did have a flight delay so while our check out was extended (not late enough, but whatever) they did give us access to a guest room on the 4th floor (no balcony, city view.. and nicer/ more updated) to get ready in before our flight.. that was very nice of them. The hospitality rooms are on a first come first serve basis with a time limit so plan accordingly.. Close proximity to a bunch of amazing little spots for breakfast and coffee.. and really just such a nice chill location.. we did head in to south beach for dinner daily though and it's a quick 7-10 min Uber ride... Shout out to concierge, Genesis, she was a huge help and so very nice. Also, Markell, our beach attendant.. he was the best and very sweet/personable.. We did deal with one asshole working there, she was nasty and had a horrible attitude, it's ok she got it right back though. Otherwise, we totally enjoyed our stay here and I'd stay here again. Resort fee was about $150-$160

Yelp
We booked two rooms for my sister's bachelorette and we got adjoining rooms which was perfect. We had a slight view of the ocean. Our rooms were at an angle on the side of the property. The rooms are adorable and colorful. I love that the decor has a vintage feel and not like a boring beige or grey color scheme like most hotels. They offer champagne at check in, but run out periodically. When my sister checked in she didn't get a glass of champagne, but I was offered two glasses at check-in. The gentlemen at the driveway were always so helpful. When we were leaving and it was raining, he made sure to tell our Uber driver to pull up so we didn't need to get wet. Sorry, I wish I got his name. The rooms are expensive, but we wanted the location and beachfront property. They up-charge you for anything more than 2 guests per room, so for beach chairs you pay extra. I was bummed we were in the back row. You probably want to get there early to be closest to the ocean. The drinks were exceptional and our server at the beach was wonderful. The drinks seem very fresh and not made with an artificial pre-mix. The service at the lobby lounge was not good. You may want to skip that or set your expectations accordingly. The ceviche wasn't very fresh...it had a fishiness to it. It was pretty disappointing considering you're in Miami.

Yelp
Often look to staying at the beach when I need to unwind in today stressful business climate and mid beach has been the go to place lately. Unlike South Beach that has literally become a dangerous place there are many quite classic hotels like the Fountainbleu, luxury hotels like the Faena and many boutique hotels to chose from that have great upscale restaurants and clubs. This weekend chose too stay at the Confidant. Like many old classic hotels of mid beach it's been refurbished, but keeps it's 1950's look. This hotel is now a Hyatt and feels like time stood still and draws you to that era. Employees are super friendly, rooms and public area are clean and have comfortable beds and both HVAC and bathrooms are all excellent working condition. I got a balcony room with partial ocean view and was happy with choice and stay. Restaurants are clean and offer limited menu that is on the pricey side, but food was excellent. Had a great time and highly recommend.

Yelp
My husband and I bought a resort pass and spent the day by the pool and beach for the Confidante. It was an amazing afternoon and we had really great food out by the pool. The food was surprisingly really amazing and some options felt pretty gourmet for being served poolside. I really like the fact that there is an adult pool and a family pool although they are steps away from one another. The beach area is very peaceful as the hotel is located on the north part of South Beach where it's not as busy. Will def go back!!

Yelp
My son and I had the best time here. We booked a last minute stay at the pool because we had a big gap between our cruise and our flight. We booked a pool daybed which was located in a prime spot near the pool. We had a choice between the family pool and adult pool so we went with the family pool. So many kids were there and my son got to make lots of friends. Pool area was nice, clean, and the daybed was really comfortable. Now onto the food! Everything was pretty good except the ceviche. Honestly it was pretty bad. Just wasn't done well. However we shared this feedback with the servers and they removed it off the bill. Granted we were using the $200 food and beverage credit anyway but it was nice to be able to order something else. The calamari was memorable. Be sure to order the spicy Mayo with it for dipping (recommended by our server G). Super nice touch was the complimentary popsicles for the kids. Customer service was A++++. Heather and G were very accommodating and always made sure we had what we needed. G even gave us some extras as a courtesy! Can't beat that. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. I wish I took more food pictures for you all but we were quite famished after a long cruise. For the access to the pool and beach alone I say book this hotel for a day pass!

Yelp
The hotel is undergoing extensive renovation of which I was only made aware of once my non refundable booking was confirmed. Currently no access to the pool or that area. However beach access is available. I highlighted the above at my check in and was told I could get a refund and go elsewhere. However at past 8pm ET after a 10 hr delayed flight from London I didn't want to go through the hassle of trying to find somewhere else. Proper communication should have been made available prior to taking my booking! With regards to room service, I called down to ask for some boiling hot water and honey to be delivered to my room and the kitchen had the audacity to charge $8 for the privilege which is shameful!! Other than that, the have been lovely and the location is perfect for getting around the city. I probably wouldn't stay here again as it isn't the best value for money and will put this experience down to beginner's bad luck!

Yelp
Booked this hotel last minute when our flight was delayed overnight. It wasn't cheap, and when we checked in we found out there was an additional large fee that wasn't included in our booking price online. The hotel definitely had a very fun art deco meets modern theme. There are two pools, one adult and one family - though they are extremely close so be warned that there is no privacy partition that might save your child's eyes from seeing the chaotic twerking bachelorette etc parties that reserve the adult pool cabanas :D There is also beach access but we got locked out from reentering the pool area twice during our visit because the fence automatically locks from the inside, even during the day. It's not fun walking all the way around and through the lobby to get back to the pool. It's cool that for $35 you can buy a "resort" pass that grants you access to the pool and even a complimentary hotel room to use to shower after. But when I ordered one single pina colada and the bill for it was $30(!!!!) it became clear where they make their money at the pool haha. Ugh. Though it was nicely decorated and had that "boujee" vibe, I guess I just expected more for the price.

Yelp
I got a Daycation cabana package which with $250 it comes with not just a cabana for 6 people, but umbrella and beach chairs, food and drink credits at the pool and beach up to $250, several bottles of cold water, and a room for you to shower when you are ready to get ready to leave. There are also free lemonade for everyone at the pool. The pool is beautiful. It got kind of crowded for some hours at one point, and we felt groups of people were getting very close to our cabana. The service was very slow ( the day we visited they were lack of workers), but everyone was nice and friendly. There are many cute areas with swings, pool couches, single sofas, and you are free to walk around and enjoy. We will for sure visit for a Daycation again.

Yelp
Five stars doesn't even do this place justice because they would deserve all the stars in the world. The most amazing experience and stay in two years. First off, no one does "Miami" better than The Confidante. This place screams Miami with its Art Deco and vibrant vibes. This amazing artsy hotel captured our heart from the moment we pulled in. I made a reservation a month prior to staying here (stay was mid October). It was a very special occasion since this would be our 8th anniversary. We came from NY to get our last moments of sun before the cold kicks in. The booking process was very easy and since we are Hyatt Members we booked directly through the Hyatt. I mentioned this would be our anniversary and requested a nicer room on the higher floors with a view. The attention to detail in this place was just outstanding. Alex greeted us and checked us in and handed us a card that said Happy Anniversary from the Confidante. This totally kicked us off at an amazing start. Once we made it to the 11th floor we couldn't believe the view in our room. It totally felt like one of those traveling shows! The room though small and cozy was just perfect. Everything was spotless and absolutely clean. I have to give a serious shoutout here to the cleaning staff because they do an outstanding job behind the scenes. When you run into them in the hallways they're so kind and have a huge smile under those masks. They work so hard to make us feel home away from home. Definitely if it wasn't for them we couldn't have had such an amazing experience. The rooms have their own mini fridge which made it great to keep a few cold drinks and snacks during our stay. There was easy access to get ice for our Prosecco. Overall, the room totally was worth it. Especially those views!!!!! I do have to say, even if the room wasn't amazing, who cares! There's so much to do in this property that you could spend days and days here exploring and enjoying all the amenities. Here's a break down: - two large pools (one for family and one adults) - boutique style gym, EVEN YOUR OWN PELOTON BIKE! - large viewing balcony - 2 hours daily of free bike riding! - access to the boardwalk for a nice walk - full service while you're hanging by the beach or pool - beach chairs and beach/pool towels - DID I SAY THE MOST GORGEOUS TURQUOISE BEACH EVER??? - and more I totally missed a lot more amenities here but these are just some. This hotel is family friendly but also couple friendly, it can be really romantic and just an absolutely amazing experience. There's a restaurant in the property: Ambersweet and a pool/beach one for drinks and small bites called the Backyard. Ok. Also, you can have your PUP stay here. We almost brought ours last minute and totally regretted not bringing him! They literally give them a whole experience too with their own dog bed and dog swag. There's also PUPsicles that you can purchase for your doggie! You can even take him to the beach and have him hang with you under an umbrella otherwise it would be way too hot. Beach side: outstanding service. Extremely hard working, friendly staff. By the end of your stay these guys know you by name. They form a really nice bond and are absolutely outstanding at hospitality. Beach chairs are included. Yes, you have to pay extra for umbrellas and cabanas and all the extras. But WHO CARES. You're getting outstanding service! If you don't want to pay extra, don't. Your stay won't be any less amazing. You can just go to the pool side and hang by those umbrellas and chairs and have as great of a time. Perhaps even come back to the beachside when the sun goes down a bit. You won't be disappointed. I promise! One thing I will say, please do pick up what you brought and purchased. Save the turtles. Think of the ocean life. We have such a huge impact on the environment and it's sad to see the amount of things people leave behind including guests. The staff do an amazing job picking up so it has nothing to do with them or the hotel. Let's just save the planet :) I've probably left some things behind but I hope this was helpful in determining your stay. If you don't like something about the hotel or service during your stay, just speak to the staff or manager. Give them a chance to make it right. This place is a mini paradise with a little resort experience. There are walkable spots nearby for little bites and food. There's a cvs across the hotel. And Uber rides are easy to get down to South Beach or wherever. What a gem. What a stay. What a hotel. What an experience. Definitely will not forget this ever. Thank you to the Confidante and it's staff. We truly had a great, relaxing, amazing time.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay. This is an older, deco/boutique like property located mid-beach, away from all the bustle and noise of south beach, but conveniently located to many restaurants. We found the staff to be excellent overall, from the front desk/checkin (shout out to Vivian), Bellman (Monty), valets, and restaurant staff. Unfortunately, we did find housekeeping to be inconsistent both in the days serviced and failing to replenish basics after cleaning, but since we haven't had housekeeping at any hotel for some time, it was a pleasure to have regardless. The hotel itself is located on a nice section of beach and the 8+ mile boardwalk. The boardwalk is a gem and we enjoyed walking it day and night. The area seems very safe and overall is quiet. Pool area is well maintained, and the guys running the beach services work hard and see that you have everything you may need. Miami in general is not a cheap destination, and neither is this hotel. They do include a 21% service charge to everything, which does add up. This is in addition to the resort fee, and if you have a car, valet parking is pricey. Again, this is the norm in Miami. Rooms were smaller sized, but clean and we had a very nice view of the ocean. Showers and bathrooms were nice, room had a small fridge, safe and coffee maker. We enjoyed our 7 night stay, can recommend, and I would stay at this property again.

Yelp
Stayed here with my boyfriend for my birthday. It's a nice hotel within walking distance of the beach. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast at the downstairs breakfast buffet ($98 value for 2) and also complimentary Prosecco and chocolate covered strawberries delivered to our room for my birthday. Wish we had more time to use the amenities. Resort fees are high and you must use their valet to park your car.

Yelp
Overall nice time spent here. The pool is on the smaller side and the day we were in the cabanas it was a bit slow, but the service was good as were the drinks. Renting a cabana brings some water and fruit which is a nice touch. The rooms were clean and spacious, the beds were very comfortable. Great spot to stay and explore miami beach. Staff was also very kind and didn't get upset when we kept forgetting/losing our room key. Room service was also pretty good!

Yelp
Came here with the resort day pass and had the best time. For $35 you get access to both pools, beach chairs and get free towels. You can order food and drinks bt the beach or pool, food was good quality price and the drinks were delicious! Definetely recommend!!!

Yelp
This hotel is located in a great area of Miami Beach. I believe I heard that the building has been there since the 40''s, with that being said my room seemed much smaller than a standard room built today. Everyone that we had interaction with at the hotel was friendly and accommodating. I have to give Kudos to Monty the concierge, he seems to be the man of everything in the lobby whether you need help with your luggage or just need information on the area, Monty is the man. They have a nice back are with two pools , one for adults and one for family also direct beach access with chairs, umbrellas and bar service. I guess the only thing negative about my stay is that aside from breakfast, and some choices for lunch, there really wasn't a option for dinner. They have a beautiful bar area with great seating in cozy nooks throughout but no one was using the space. I later found out that they're scheduled to go under renovations soon and the whole lobby is being redesigned and restaurant added, so that probably explains that. It still is in a great location and walkable to a lot of other hotels and places to eat, or take out on of the hotel bikes out for a spin. I would stay here again.

Yelp
We loved it here. We stayed while they were under construction and there was no noise or inconvenience at all. I would stay here again.

Yelp
We stayed here for 2 nights. Initial valet (which is ~$55/night) and check-in went smooth. Our king room with partial ocean view was enough space for 2 people. The room had a nice aesthetic. However, the air conditioner was very noisy overnight, and the housekeeping service was loud in the hallways in the mornings. The gym was warm - some fans would be a fantastic addition. We went during a tropical storm, so we didn't get to enjoy the beach or bikes. Pool is undergoing restoration, so we couldn't enjoy that either. Valeting our car at night took about 20 minutes for someone to show up. Service was slow at the hotel restaurant, and they weren't even full. We got the buffet x2 ($36 each) which was very good; after an automatic 21% service charge and taxes, our bill came to around $97. There are definitely places around the area that are way cheaper (e.g. highly recommend Crema Gourmet Espresso Bar). The lady hostess at the front never smiled when we interacted with her both times. After breakfast, we got locked out of our room because our keys stopped working for unknown reasons. We had to go downstairs and wait in line for 5 minutes to get additional keys. I would recommend trying a different hotel.

Yelp

Yelp
This was a difficult rating to settle on. We encountered a number of the recurring themes in the reviews here, plus one that hasn't been mentioned, because hopefully, it was a fleeting thing. But it happened when we were there, the entire length of our five day stay. More on that later. Since others have went with the pros vs cons format, I'll do the same. In no particular order: Pros: - Beachfront away from the South Beach craziness. Yes, the location is awesome, for sure. - Separate pools for adults and children. When some of the latter started getting into the adult pool, a quick heads up to the staff resolved the situation right away - Nice deco/retro styling with good beach views - Good service when renting a cabana, and the poolside food was tasty - Rooms were clean with a nice bathroom - New and large TV in the room - Staff were very nice and attentive Cons: - Cranky elevators as others have mentioned. One was intermittent throughout our stay, causing some queueing - Breakfast buffet was OK, but was expensive for what you got. - Loud DJ music at the pool, at the same time that other music was playing on the house speakers - Although nice, the rooms are quite small, and only offer one A/C outlet bedside (in fairness, there are also two USB-A plugs, but I need USB-C) - Our balcony had a concrete wall facing outward, whereas the vast majority of the balconies were glass. This meant that you were looking at concrete while seated. Make sure and ask for a room with glass. - Service in the pool area if you weren't in a cabana was spotty. The servers were trying their best, but were stretched too thin. There needs to be more servers during peak times. I've saved the worst for last. Upon our first encounter with the poolside server on Wednesday, we were told that the frozen drink machines (plural) were down. Well, not great, but surely they'll be operational later in the day or the next day. No, Thursday we rented a cabana and the story was the same. In short, by the time we left on Sunday, the drink machines were STILL not operational. To recap: This is a BEACHFRONT property on Miami Beach, and there were no frozen drinks for the entirety of a 5 day stay. There were blenders at the bar, and on Saturday, there was an attempt to use one, but the result was basically a cup full of sugary drink concentrate with a few specks of ice mixed in and rum on top. I do not understand at all why these industrial sized blenders could not have been used properly to produce frozen drinks in absence of the purpose built machines. I can easily do this at home, and I'm far from a trained bartender. A complaint to the front desk staff (after complaining to numerous poolside staff) netted a $50 food/beverage credit, but that didn't help the actual problem. Bottom line, I don't know that I would stay here again. We originally chose the property because it was in the Hyatt program, and in fact, used points for the room. It wasn't a bad stay, but the frozen drink situation really left a bad taste in our mouths (pun intended).

Yelp
the day pass here is awesome mainly to just lay in front of the beach I don't go to the pool area it seems to get pretty crowded but they have a good DJ the staff here provides good service for chips & guac and a small ceviche $40 this is normal hotel prices tho, they were both pretty decent

Yelp
My girlfriend and I had an amazing experience. We were surprised we were able to check-in so early, like 11am. Breakfast was delicious! You really can't ask for more from the buffet. For 2 people expect to pay around $80 but try to add it to your initial reservation. We had the lounge deck room and the view was breathtaking! The pools were clean and the beach was organized and well kept. There's complimentary sun tan lotion and ice water on the beach also. Take advantage of the bikes, and the bike path, and visit South Beach. I definitely recommend and will be returning. I'll be booking more days next time.

Yelp
The hotel was beautiful and clean. We loved that it was so close to the beach, literally a short walk without having to cross a street. Two beach chairs and an umbrella are included in your stay which is awesome. The pools were nice as well though more umbrellas in the pool area would have been appreciated. The only complaint was the dining options. The breakfast buffet was overpriced for the small selection available. And the restaurant was closed for lunch and dinner during our stay. Otherwise the stay was excellent!

Yelp
Amazing stay!! 5 stars. VIP treatment the entire time. Room was clean and great view of the ocean and pools although we did not have a balcony. Bed was comfortable also. The service was just A+++ all around from the front desk to the bar staff to doorman, David. He was awesome and hooked us up with the hospitality room to shower and refresh before our flight home. The adult pool was where it's at with bar staff always available poolside. We were always able to get a couple chairs, but the cabanas were available as well if you spend enough. Drinks and food are of course pricy, but delicious and well made. The beach service was amazing as well. Included are towels, endless bottled water, umbrellas and lounge chairs at no extra cost with direct beach access. I can't wait to go back again. We had a fantastic stay!

Yelp
5 stars for a great weekend getaway with our fur child! We've been meaning to stay here but finally got around to it. Right now the hotel is doing a special where valet parking and dog fees are waived! We were upgrade to a room with a balcony and placed on the highest floor. The hotel also provided a dog baggie and bowl at check in. They provided us with bottles of hand sanitizer too. The room is clean and there's a mini fridge to keep your drink cool, a must with the Florida heat. Our bed was comfortable and had nice pillows. Our room was pretty quiet too, even when there were people walking outside the noise didn't travel too much. The hotel's amenities were great, we visited the beach and the hotel provides free chairs/towels. If you want an umbrella it's and extra $20 for the day. I definitely liked the pool area more, there's lots of sitting areas, music playing and two different pools to jump in. Cute space to take pictures and relax. Even though the gym is on the smaller side, it's got all the essentials and there's a cool neon sign on the mirror wall. There's also another space outside the gym for yoga but the hotel isn't offering it at the moment. All of the staff were super friendly, valet would bring our car quickly over and there are things within walking distance near by. Overall great weekend getaway for a fraction of the normal stay. We love the vibe of the hotel, so many instagram shots with the nicely decorated common areas.

Yelp
Overall I liked my time here and I would return and stay here again. The rates were very reasonable and throughout my interaction I did have good experiences. The spa is still closed because of Covid. Everything else seemed normal. Room Service Pros: The Green Smoothie and the Confidante Breakfast were excellent in taste and the portion size was good. There is a $9.99 delivery fee but you can avoid it by going to the lobby to pick up your own food. Some items that are available aren't on the menu. I was able to order a standard bar drink, a Manhattan, and have that delivered. The text to order system worked great and response time was fast. Cons: No pre-ordering, for example you can't order breakfast the night before. No real plates or silverware. I was given no straw for my smoothie. I was given no jam for my toast even though I specifically asked for it. Hotel: Pros: Bikes are free for two hours which is nice amenity. They are cruiser bikes but were multi speed and not too heavy. I rode one 15 miles. I averaged a bit slower than my usual, but it was free and right outside the hotel. You do need to claim one early though. By the time I came back from my ride on Sunday morning at 9am all the other bikes were gone. Cons: No newspapers. No gift shop (though a CVS is across the street). The hotel itself is rather small and doesn't really offer a lobby seating area aside from a few always busy chairs by the registration desk. Some areas of the hotel were a little dingy, i.e., walls were scratched and some paint was needed. Food Con: The restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday nights, though room service is available. Music from a wedding reception taking place in a nearby building though could be occasionally heard while I was on the restaurant patio on Saturday night. Pro: I had good service and food on Saturday night; see my separate restaurant review. The restaurant was pretty slow at 6p but started filing up, outside at least, a couple hours later. The covered patio is a nice outdoor space. Beach: Very helpful attendants will carry your towels to a chair and set it up for you. There is a drink and food service option as well. One day though I ordered a drink and it never arrived. Overall friendly staff though. Their system could use improvement though as they just ask "where are you sitting" and then you have to try and explain where in the sea of all the same color chairs you're sitting. The beach is very close by just across the boardwalk from the hotel gates. Pool: They played a bit too loud of club music at the pool which shares a space with "the backyard." This was on a Saturday and Sunday afternoon. It made the whole space not really relaxing. I ended up going to the beach instead. Room Pro: The room had plugs in all the right places. There was a nice big desk and an accent chair as well. The bathroom was spacious and had good ventilation. The AC worked great and you could control it in your room. Con: The balcony's on the side of the hotel have cement fronts so even if you have an ocean view, which I did, you can only see it while standing up. I would either save money and skip the balconies on the side of the hotel, or spend extra money for a big balcony on the back of the hotel which are glass faced.

Yelp
Had a great time in our poolside bungalow. Great drink selection and food was outstanding. Special shoutout to our server "G"

Yelp
The hotel is clean and the beds are comfortable. Having stayed elsewhere in Miami Beach I just am not a fan of the Confidante. For my tastes the Confidante is in a relatively quiet part of Collins Ave. The majority of the nightlife, shopping and dining are on the completely other end of the strip. This was just too far away from everything (other than the ocean). The pool closes pretty early and hotel staff actually enforces making you get out of the water. I paid a lot for my family to visit. I am returning to Wisconsin in January and your pool is the last opportunity I'll have to enjoy outdoor swimming for 5+ months. The pool is nowhere near the rooms & 8:30 (really)? Cut a guy a little slack. Another pool gripe is being required to wear the amusement park wristband to use the pool area. Again, I paid a significant amount to stay with you. Perhaps you could come up with something better than the crappy paper wristbands worn for the rides at the county fair.

Yelp
Stay somewhere else, you'll be glad you did and whatever you do, don't book through Costco because that's apparently too complex for them to process and you'll get charged twice (as of this review, we're out $2,000). Rooms feel gross and in need of an overhaul. They rent out half of the chairs in the pool to people who aren't even staying there, so be prepared to have no where to sit. This is closer to a Super-8 than a 4-star hotel.

Yelp
Grossest veggie burger I've ever had. $35 for cold fries, a dry salty cold veggie patty, a raw onion slice, and 4 pieces of rotting lettuce. Waited 40 minutes for it too. Not sure how this is "posh dining".

Yelp
Very disappointed! Run down! Needs a remodel in the worst way. Restaurant closes down early. Would not stay here again. It's a Hyatt property which is strange considering that most of their properties are very nice but NOT THIS ONE! It's about a $20 taxi ride to main beach and the location is right on the beach and the view is good but come on, remodel this place for God's sake.

Yelp
We stayed here for a week during production & the overall stay was right on point. All the employees whether working at the registration desk or in the restaurants went out of their to be helpful. There's a dedicated & friendly employee serving as the Concierge navigating spa, tour & other excursion packages. The rooms (some Suites) offers a patio with a two-person chair & table, Jonathan Adler's bath toiletries & views of the Atlantic Ocean or Miami skyline. Rates start around $140.00. There are many eatery options on site - The Bird & Bone provides the breakfast buffet amongst the popular Hot Fried Chicken. The Backyard which is the poolside bar provides fresh fare options including tacos & salads servicing both the garden & beach areas. On Fridays, you can hear live music poolside by local performers from 4P-7P. If you don't want the restaurant vibe, the lobby lounge & internal coffee shop café "Cafecito Bar" offers spacious lounging & workspaces. Most places closes around 10P or 11P. No Room Service, yet the hotel is located amongst unlimited restaurant & bar options. The Confidante, which is part of the Hyatt chain, is a chic-retro, vibrant beachfront hotel (private walkway to the ocean) with an old school vibe located between South Beach & the Art Districts.

Yelp
I've been staying here for years, often for several weeks at a time. I have referred my whole company and my community here. In 2016 once we booked the hotel with 100+ people. However, now I'm extremely disappointed about my last visit. The "Deposit for incidentals" of $302 was permanently charged to my credit card and not returned. The property is denying that they have charged it and is refusing to return even acknowledge the charge. I've never experienced something like this anywhere else before and it will make me reconsider my decisions in the future. In fact, now I wonder whether they do this regularly and guests miss it because it looks like just a refundable deposit (I very well may have in the past). It's a shame, because I really liked the property otherwise.

Yelp
I loved this hotel , It's central ,SAFE, neat and next to the beach . I took my mom for a surprise getaway and couldn't think of anything better . They have great staff working . And before parting they let us use a room to wash out or relax - the hospitality room "... I would definitely come again !

Yelp
I probably would not return here, but the stay was not terrible due to good friends and a nice pool atmosphere. Rooms were clean and the staff is very nice, but a lot of my vacation was spent speaking with guest services. I do not recommend doing your laundry here because an item of my clothing was lost and the rest of my laundry arrived late even though I purchased expedited laundry service. Therefore, I had to communicate a lot with guest services regarding refunds for lost laundry, refunds for expedited services, and false card charges due to staff miscommunication, which is not an ideal way to spend a vacation. Thankfully, the staff was kind enough to help me resolve these problems, so in that regard guest services was good! Takeaways: 1. Don't do laundry here 2. Request to have your bill sent to you before you leave so you can resolve false charges!

Yelp
If you're looking for cheap and rowdy this is not for you. If you're looking for clean, COVID safe, great service and beautiful scenery and a re willing to pay a premium for this then read on. Love this hotel! We have stayed 3 times since our daughter now goes to U of M and it's wonderful! Great beach front location and the service as Hyatt members has been wonderful. We have always gotten ocean view or ocean front suites or room and they are beautiful. We also love beach butlers, food and drink service at the beach and most of the time the service here is up to par... sometimes spotty depending who is working...
