Caitlin Hata: Inside the Mad-Science World of a Professional Fermentation Chef | Bon Appétit

"A 44,000‑square‑foot culinary complex that houses restaurants, a specialty market, and a walk‑up counter, it centralizes a dedicated fermentation program that supplies ferments across food and beverage: currant‑kefir for cocktails, koji for marinades, fermented barley for risottos and cocktail syrups, kimchi made largely from second‑use produce, pickles, kombuchas, shrubs, cultured butter and yogurt, and dried onion/garlic powders. The operation emphasizes zero‑waste practices, highly organized fermentation storage, deep cross‑kitchen collaboration, and plans to retail packaged ferments to the public." - ByZan Romanoff

Adam Perry Lang Now Selling Year-Old Dry-Aged Steaks in Hollywood - Eater LA

"Downtown project the Manufactory is getting excitingly close to its debut arrival, but in the meantime eager fans can head down to the Row development now for a microcosm of what’s to come. The company has opened its takeaway window to sell some coffee and pastry and ice cream options, with more menu items — including that famed Tartine bread — to come soon." - Farley Elliott

I would highly rate working with this company, we had an issue recently with an order and they could have easily dismissed or slowly resolved but total opposite - they were so understanding and easy to work with to exceed expectations - highly recommend using this small business!

Excellent company. I received my glasses very quickly, and very nicely packaged. Although I had one small issue, they promptly resolved it in a professional way. Do yourself a favor and buy your Zalto glasses from the official retailer, don’t take chances elsewhere!

This place is great!! I had to deliver my sister some lumber that has a membership here. The only complaint I had was the excessive layers of ice by the side door and the front door. I'm talking thicker than an ice rink, inches of ice. I had my 4 yr old son with me and my father in law. If someone would have busted their *** that person might own the place. Great place, simple fix

The best place to thurn your ideas into reality. Lots of woodworking tools, table saws, planer, jointer, lathe and panelsander. A full machine shop including multiple lathes, milling machines, drill presses and sheet metal tools. MIG, TIG and spot welding equipment. CNC Plasma cutting table, CNC wood table, CNC laser etcher.

What a great idea this is place is. Who the heck has money or space for all their own tools? Pay a monthly fee, attend valuable safety class, byo bits and blades. And have a great project! We have built a custom office chair and a bed canopy here, great idea.

Very cool place if your thinking about learning a craft. It's like a big treasure chest full of knowledge for those interested in learning new things. It was also very inexpensive! My kids are young so I currently can't become a member but maybe in the future! I'll be coming back to learn forging/blacksmithing!

This is a great place to accomplish those DIY projects without going broke purchasing equipment you will never get full use of. They have classes to train you in the use of equipment and great hours of operation. Neat place and if you are a DIY person this is someplace you should visit.

Yelp
Do you like to build things? Want to learn new skills? Do you have a project that you don't have a tool for, and don't want to invest in the tool because it is way too expensive? Want to powder coat something? Then the Manufactory in Cincinnati is what you need. I took a tour of this place, and was amazed. I am a big proponent of the trades. There is not a single part of our society, our world, that isn't affected by the trades. We are so conditioned to think that college is the way to go, that you won't be successful without an expensive piece of paper that essentially says you spent a lot of money and can put up with four or more years of BS. That is simply not true. What would our world be without welders, metal workers, plumbers, printers, carpenters, mechanics, and/or a whole host of other skilled workers doing all of that stuff that is easy to take for granted? I constantly tell my son, "You don't HAVE to go to college to be successful and earn a good, solid living to support your family. What you DO need is a marketable skill (or skills), and the constant drive to be the best you can be in that skill. Some people are well cut out for college, and yes, the world needs college educated people so don't think I'm putting down the collegiate route. But the world also needs skilled tradesmen and craftsmen. Doors are open and available, you just have to make a choice and do your best, be the best in whatever endeavor you choose." I took a tour of this place on 25 July, brought my whole family out there. It was like being in a candy store to me. I was also watching my son, and the look on his face mirrored what I was feeling inside. My four things I was keenly interested in were the Bridgeport mill, the various lathes, the forge, and the CNC. They literally have everything from old school lathes to laser cutters. The business is run on a membership basis, much like a gym. And much like a gym, there are tools and such which require classes before use, such as the welding tools. Also, they have lessons for everything else, too. Just like a gym. In my opinion, you get a lot of value for your money if this is what you're interested in. And just to round off the experience, and perhaps what I like most about the trades, is that everyone there was so friendly. I find that to be true of people who are serious about trades, that they share skills and knowledge. There is nothing better than correctly creating the thing you want to create and seeing someone you are teaching create that first thing they want to create. Check them out if you're in the area. They offer free tours and I don't think you will be disappointed.

Yelp
This place is awesome for anyone who wants to make stuff. The staff is helpful and courteous. They take safety importantly and care about their members. This place has nearly every tool you can think of up to laser cutters, cnc routers, cnc mills, a full metal working and wood working shop. The only downside is the limited hours.

Yelp
The main problem here is ownership and a culture of disrespect and inconsistent rule enforcement. There apparently is a set of rules to follow as a member. However in those rules there is set etiquette that the owner and staff does not enforce or rather selectively enforces. On many occasions the owner himself has damaged projects because he wanted to use something for his personal use. when the rules clearly state not to touch another members projects. This proves no regard for the customer. If i was you I would stay very VERY far away from this place.
