Mayflower Club Opens in Dupont With Gold-Garnished Steaks on the Mediterranean Menu - Eater DC

"The Mayflower Club opens Wednesday, October 27, in the same building that used to house a prominent Prohibition-era speakeasy of the same name. The new two-level restaurant and lounge rounds fills out a complex at 1223 Connecticut Avenue NW that welcomed rooftop club Zebbie’s Garden earlier this summer. At full capacity, the three-level venue outfitted with five bars can fit 800. Chef Alex Oradei complements Mayflower Club’s decadent decor with an 8-ounce prime strip steak encrusted in gold leaf and topped with shaved truffles. His Mediterranean roots are reflected in canapé towers lined with bacon-wrapped dates, tuna tartare, and other snacks. The opening menu includes halloumi fries, grilled octopus, branzino, and langoustine prawns. Cocktails feature local liquor brands with highlights like the Mayflower Spritz and Goldsmith cocktail. The venue features over-the-top details, including a chandelier above a bar framed with a female profile and a mezzanine lined with magnums of Champagne. The Mayflower Club pays homage to its past as a secretive speakeasy. Owned by Antonis Karagounis, it operates Wednesday to Saturday with extended late-night hours. A weekend brunch and happy hour menu will be added soon." - Tierney Plumb

I've been here a handful of times for dinner and although it's always been a great experience, somehow it keeps getting better and better each time I go. Some of my favorites: ✅ Empanadas with a flakey crust and a delicious ground beef filling and dipping sauce. ✅ 🗣️ Ceviche Tropical 🔥🔥 Just do yourself a favor and order this flavor explosion of fresh fish, mango & habanero. DON'T be afraid of the coconut milk, it's not overpowering and the flavor & creaminess added is ever so subtle and perfectly balances out the heat and acidity from the other ingredients 🤌 Chefs kiss Many other dishes to recommend, not enough time to write them all out. Also, the service is amazing. This time around I came by myself, and literally everyone treated me like I was there to see my friends 🫶 Parking is a bit of a struggle ngl, especially at dinner time on a weekend, but if you're patient, there is street parking and eventually you will find a good spot.

Just had the cherry blossom menu at Mayflower club restaurant - Okame - and WOW! This was sooo good. Traveled all over the world and had a lot of fine dining and I definitely did not expect a restaurant with a night club to be this spectacular. I went with 2 friends - usually very hard to please. We ate so much food and honestly I’m still thinking about it. Appetizers - edamame, gyoza, Asian salad, wraps Entrees - shrimp fried rice, wagyu steak, and sea bass - sea bass was my personal favorite and honestly it tasted just as good, if not better than Nobu! Dessert - lavender ice cream, cheesecake, and some Asian donut Everything was absolutely delicious. My friends and I could not decide which was the best dish because they were all good. Don’t go if you are on a diet. I didn’t have any self control. The staff was spectacular and the ambiance was a cool vibe. Gina, the GM, frequently checked on us to see how we were doing which was such a nice touch. I will absolutely go back again. Bravo!

This place was absolutely amazing! I reserved a VIP table for my sister’s birthday and from the time we walked in, to the time we left, we had exceptional service! A place can be very beautiful but lack great service and this place must be a gem because they have both! We had a blast! The DJ kept us on our feet all night and the vibe overall was amazing! Would definitely book again ❤️❤️❤️

Aesthetically this restaurant is spot on. It is decorative, fashionable, and detailed pleasing to the eye. Prepare to spend all your money here; the portions are small but pricey. Everything was great except they were filming a reality show during our visit so this came with restrictions and delays. I would come back here but I won’t rush. This is a great spot for a romantic evening or a fun classy night with friends. Either way you will enjoy it.

Hubby and I had a lovely date night at the Mayflower Restaurant and Lounge, enjoying their Spring prefixed menu. The food was well-seasoned, flavorful, and very tasty. The atmosphere was perfect for a romantic evening or a fun night out.

Had my Twins 17th birthday dinner here with a group of 10. They were patient offered suggestions. We ended up with the 4 courses family style to try a little of best dishes. Absolutely amazing. Great ambiance great food great service.

Went to the Mayflower for dinner with friends and our husbands, and we had an amazing time! The food was outstanding, and the customer service was spot on from start to finish. I absolutely loved the octopus — one of my favorites — but honestly, everything we ordered, including the ceviche, was delicious. From the atmosphere to the service, everything was top-notch. Highly recommend this little hidden gem — truly underrated!

Google
I went for my birthday dinner. I was so excited after seeing all the tiktok videos and I was honestly disappointed because i think my expectations were too high. The food was just okay. I did enjoy the lamb chops but i didn't like the potatoes they paired then with also the portions were on the smaller side especially for the prices. The venue was on the small side and I did not expect to seat on the small high chairs I found them to be uncomfortable.

Yelp
We visited The Mayflower Club on an early weeknight and it hadn't quite transitioned into club hours so it wasn't crowded at all. Although it wasn't quite a club scene yet, they still had music playing to enjoy. We had a really good server and tried more than a few menu items - lamb, chicken, fries, mashed potatoes, and ice cream. For the most part, the food was good but I would have liked a bit more flavor. The overall interior looked nice.

Yelp
Came for an event, purchased a table ahead of time through the Eventbrite link. When we arrived at 8:10pm we were treated with ignorance and rudeness. The bouncer and the owner were standing at the entrance. We thought we were getting in the entrance line, the bouncer let us know we were in his way and we could not stand there. Again we thought it was the line to enter. We moved to the other side of the area. He continued to make smart comments. As I was talking to the owner asking where we should stand to wait because we were there for the event, he let us know they were running behind. I don't understand how you can be rude and disrespectful when you are not opened on time. We moved out of his way and he continued to side eye us and drag his rails near our feet although we were out of his way. We were honestly dumbfounded and confused. He let us know he didn't have to explain anything to us. A host for the event we were attending came outside and let him know we needed to enter. He then said you can come in if you want. He said we could not bring umbrellas inside and said leave them out here or something. The host then said no they can put them in the bucket inside. The owner stood there with a grin the entire time. We were checked in and walked to our table. When I went to order drinks at the bar the owner approached me and said he spoke to the bouncer and gave us free drinks. I can't stand when people think giving free things makes up for piss poor professionalism. The drinks were amazing! The bartender was very friendly, unlike the other staff we encountered. We also ordered a hookah. About 30 min into smoking the hookah the coals went out. After searching for the hookah guy I finally found him and asked if he could change our coals. He rudely let me know they don't give new coals. We would need to buy a new head. I said ok that's fine and asked if he'd come over to our table once he was done assisting the customers he was attending to. He said "I don't need to come over there you can just pay now." I let him know I would go get my card, and that he was being rude. I also let him know it may be a good idea to check on the customers with hookahs. In a busy club we should not have to hunt him down. He then went back and forth with me. I walked away, he came to our table to let me know when he does check on female customers they are rude. So I let him know he cannot prejudge all female clientele. He then offered the hookah head refill for free. Yet again that's not the right way to correct the issue. This place is so cute and has a lot of potential but if you treat your patrons like crap you won't have any. I've come here before a few times while club hoping and this location is ALWAYS empty. Tonight they were very busy due to the event being thrown. I understand dealing with customers in this capacity may be overwhelming and frustrating but you cannot belittle, disrespect and just offer free stuff to condone your poor service and experience. Unfortunately this has left a very sour impression and I most likely would t return or recommend to others.

Yelp
This place is walkable from DuPont Circle South exit. Maybe 5+ minutes. Came on a Saturday afternoon. I had a mocktail that was the bartender created. It was super sugary tho, I barely drank half of it. Gratuity is automatically included There is also a Fair Wage Surcharge that is automatically included Place was clean, trendy. Bathroom was clean and had selfie lit mirrors lol

Yelp
I came here on a saturday night and the ambiance and decor are very pretty. There is a DJ as well which makes for a fun night out. The service was good and I had an overall good experience. I enjoyed the drinks, there was a lemon drop special, I had a strawberry one and it was delicious! My friends got the mayflower spritz and it wasn't bad but wasn't something they wanted to reorder. Food wise, like most DC places that have a nice aesthetic, didn't necessarily hit the mark for me personally. The biggest downfall was that me and one of my friends both got shrimp scampi and the portion was small and the noodles were HARD. However, we had crab cake appetizers which were really good and another friend has the steak frites and liked it as well. This place also turns into a nightclub at night and it's really centrally located in Dupont. I think I would return for drinks/apps before hitting the bars/clubs nearby!

Yelp
Hey food lovers, I really enjoyed myself at the Mayflower Club. The ambience is simply amazing. The service was A1 from start to finish. The manager was very attentive as well. When I say their lamb is in my top 3, I really mean it. You want to savor every single bite. The food presentation was perfect. Perfect for first dates, birthday party or just a casual night out. Provided video below. Food: Smoked Lamb chops with asparagus, potato purée and pickled onion.

Yelp
Definitely understand this is a club type restaurant but the music was too loud. It's cute but just note that when you trying to have a conversation. The calamari was amazing. Nice crunchy and the sauce was good. The mocktail amazing i appreciated the waitress looking out. The shrimp scampi was good noddles could have been cooked a lil longer and it would have been nice if they took the time to take the tail off. The desert sampler was nothing to write home about either would give the food overall 6/10 only thing making it at least that is the calamari. I personally wouldn't return but it was a nice experience

Yelp
The Mayflower Club was so neon chic fabulous!! The decor, the lighting, and artwork is trendy with pops of royal colors...and the service was kind and accommodating. We initially had 2 tables for 4 ppl each table..because we could not secure an 8 person reservation, but I called (technically texted) ahead of time and asked if the 2 tables could be in proximity to one another. I was told the obligatory "we can not guarantee but we'll try our best", response. And the Mayflower sure did their absolute best and seated us at an 8 person table...thank you!! It also helped that the restaurant was not too busy when we arrived and we only stayed for an hour and some change. Also, Our servers and waitresses were kind and efficient, and kept our table clear, our orders correct, and our water glasses full. The 2 bathrooms (upstairs) were each clean and single stall...and overall the upstairs area is spacious and cute. We only ordered appetizers since we had dinner plans already, but everything was tasty! but they're not huge portion sizes, so just a heads up. Overall, we highly recommend Mayflower Club!! Ps..there's plenty of garage parking nearby.

Yelp
Came here for my niece birthday. It's a beautiful restaurant/club. You see the decor literally a block away. The staff were respectful and helpful. Our dinner party was on the upper level. I arrived a little late as traffic getting here was a nightmare. The server was able to get my food order in just in time before the kitchen closed at 10:45pm. I ordered a Cherry blossom Margarita and the TROFIE AL PESTO 22. The cocktail was delicious... that deserves 5 stars. My pasta was ok. I wish it had sautéed spinach or tomatoes or something lol. It was the only non meat dish on the menu besides salad so it was only option. The restaurant transitions to a full nightclub around 12am so be prepared for that if you're dining with a large group. All in all I had a good time with my family, the restaurant just didn't meet the hype to me. The ambiance and cocktails did but not the food. And I'm a good lover. I would go again for a girls night out to party but not for dinner service.

Yelp
I really enjoyed dinner at the Mediterranean inspired restaurant at the Mayflower Club. It's really a superb dining experience... And you are met with grandeurs decor and vibes from the entrance. The service was great throughout my meal. I appreciate recommendations from servers, especially when there seem to be so many great options on the menu. The cocktails were also really impressive. Both the Mayflower Spritz and ZEBBIE's Treasure could easily bring me back on another day.

Yelp
Warning ...don't be late for this place because you'll lose your reservation. The Mayfair club has a 15 minute grace period, if you're late. In addition, me and my friends were forced to sit at the bar for my birthday dinner because we missed our reservation by 20 minutes because we couldn't find parking. We tried calling this place, but know one answers the phone . The number that's provided on the website will send you to a voicemail/ text messaging system.

Yelp
You really just come here for the ambiance. The food was a hot or miss. Ambiance 4/5: The whole point of coming here! The vibes were gorgeous, but I've been to nicer spots in DC/DMV. The music was okay, I don't even remember it despite it being loud lol. It didn't feel like "lit" music if you know what I mean. Outside of picture pops and a quick video it wasn't wow factor. Zebbies next door is way more aesthetically pleasing, but it's not a restaurant. Drinks 5/5: Were really good!!! They were garnished beautifully and decent amount of alcohol and nice glassware. I would recommend the Cherry Blossom (which isn't on the menu , the ward 2, or the French Rivera. They make mocktails for all my non-alcoholics! They taste really gooood!!! Food 3/5: The food came out a bit sporadic and not all at once. Appetizers are really good, but you don't get a decent portion for the price. The sides you have to purchase, but some entrees come with sides. Lamb chops - This comes out with the chef and a smoker. Really coool for pics and videos! came out on the salty side, but was very tender. The sauce makes the chops salty. Suggestion, get the sauce on the side or ask for light sauce. White truffle sauce Pasta with lobster tail and chicken. This was the best entree on the table! Surprisingly really good!! Decent amount of truffle on it, but wasn't over powering. Peri peri chicken Was not tasty, I would not recommend it. The chicken was bland and the two sauces that came with it were only okay. Nandos has better sauce and chicken and is across the street the chicken came with fries, but it wasn't salted and tasted extremely bland. They were even crispy lol. Truffle fries side: Were good though! Decent amount of truffle on it. The fries come with three sauces. Chicken souvlaki appetizer: Had more flavor than the chicken entree. It was delicious and came with a yummy sauce!! Mezze dip: Came with pita, hummus, tzatziki, and another sauce. Really good, but small portion for the price. Calamari: Wasn't bad, but wasn't the best. I would go with the other two appetizer options mentioned. The calamari portion was fairly decent. Mashed potatoes 2/5: They were very very bland and dry. Wish it came with butter on the side or a gravy. Dessert 4/5: Mayflower bomb Pretty good and loved the experience that the chef provided. It's a chocolate ball they light on fire and melts. Only feeds two max. There's vanilla ice cream at the bottom and more chocolate inside. Service 4/5: She came by and checked often. There was food confusion. We had to ask for spoons for dessert, other than that she was a good waitress. She did give us an additional option of mashed potatoes for the mishap. FYI: Book a reservation, but your party can't be seated unless EVERYONE arrives You can sit at the bar or the reception area which is small The event/birthday prefix menu is a little different than their regular menu. I heard that's better food. My aunt celebrated a birthday in July and saw a rat in the chandelier lmfao just an FYI. She said it was a fatttt rat

Yelp
Pros: -Great atmosphere -Extremely accommodating staff/ mgmt -Tasty Mediterranean dishes -Unbelievable cocktails -Breathtaking ambience -2 levels & a rooftop -Cons: This place can get packed! (Not sure if this is a con to most) You want to hang out with a swanky DC crowd? Add this establishment to your list. The food was tasty and must I add the staff was extremely accommodating! The manager was very patient after I explained the bday girl was running late and was on her way. I really wish I remember her name but shout out to the manager with the brunette bob. After dinner we decided to stay for the club. We decided to do a last minute bottle service. I can't leave out how diverse the crowd was, a great DJ & just a ball of fun! I highly recommend & I myself will definitely return. Please note: After 11pm the restaurant staff start the preparation to turn the restaurant into a club. Just a suggestion try to get there much earlier for dinner.

Yelp
The Mayflower Club is a stunning restaurant! It is a great option for a girls night out or a date. Upon entering, the decor is very luxe and stylish. It is dimly lit and moody. We had a reservation for 6pm but unfortunately did not arrive until 7pm due to strong storms in the DC area. Even though we were extremely late, the hostess sat us at our table immediately. Luckily they weren't too crowded yet for the evening. Our waitress came right over once we were seated. We ordered the pineapple lemon drop martinis which were deliciously balanced. For food we started with the Caesar salad (not pictured) and spanakopitas. For entrees we had the Moroccan salmon and Smoked lamb chops. Everything was AMAZING. So delicious. I can't wait to go again.

Yelp
Great flavor on simple good wings. The service at the bar was quick and kind. Beautiful ambience old world but clean and fresh! Great taste on the Korean barbecue wings, and a great Long Island tea. Perfect cook on the wings not dried out. Great experience, I'd come back!

Yelp
I ventured into the city on an early Friday evening for a birthday dinner. The restaurant/club is located on Connecticut Ave (DuPont Circle), right across the street from Shake Shack. I was able to find street parking, but it probaly gets more crowded later in the evening. The restaurant is super cute and there is a huge, beautiful chandelier upstairs. Because I was there with a big group, we did a family style dinner with several different courses. This was cool because I was able to try several dishes. The stand out dishes were the Mediterranean dip trio (pita bread with delicious sauces), the lamb chops, and the grilled prawns. The cheese and meat board was also pretty tasty. The lamb chops came out in a dish with smoke so I have to give an A for presentation in addition to the taste. My only complaint is that that they took entirely too long between courses to serve the food. Dinner started at 6 and it was almost 10:30 p.m. when they brought out dessert. Servers were friendly and helpful. Drinks were strong! The food was not enough to make me return (outside of a specific event), but it's worth trying out!

Yelp
The mayflower club is a multi-level restaurant, bar and lounge located in DuPont Circle. I enjoyed my time here from the specialty cocktails, beautiful floral decor, and amazing presentation of the food. I highly suggest making a reservation, seating is limited due to the demand. Make sure you are on time because parking is a mess and the restaurant only gives you a 15 minute grace period. They will not seat you until your entire party arrives. There is a QR code on the table that opens to the menu, I was underwhelmed with the entree options. I started with the Cherry Blossom margarita, sweet and strong. Took me a while to take this one down. Followed with the canapé tower, you have to order at least 6 items. The phyllo crab cakes, lamb sliders, and caviar are a must. For my entree, I ordered the fire lamb shank. The presentation was beautiful but the lamb needed more seasoning or some sauce, especially for the price tag. I finished off the night with Mayflower flambé, a very rich and Flavorful dessert, and again amazing presentation. I recommend this spot if you want to go out for a sexy birthday dinner or date night. I loved the vibes of this restaurant, but next time I will stick with the drinks, appetizers, and desserts. Also, automatic gratuity is added to all checks.

Yelp
My husband and I booked this dinner during restaurant week for his birthday and overall, although it was a good meal, I wouldn't come back. The food was delicious, but it wasn't anything amazing that I couldn't get anywhere else. The wines and wine list was subpar. It was also quite loud and definitely not suitable if you want to talk to your partner without going hoarse.
google avatar

Nicole O.

Yelp
Dined here for restaurant week with a group of girlfriends. First things first - the ambiance and decor are on point. It's dimly lit, with dining on 2 levels. Expect to yell across the table if you plan to have actual conversations - the music is pretty loud. I'm thoroughly unimpressed with the service. Frankly put, it was horrible. I see why a 20% gratuity is automatically included because otherwise, the servers might actually have to work for their tips. It's EXTREMELY and abysmally slow. On other occasions, it's nonexistent. I asked for salt & pepper a couple of times and never received it. I'm almost inclined to believe they don't have any. As far as the food, it was okay. The value isn't there at all. The portion sizes of the so-called lamb chops entree is laughable. I actually thought it was an appetizer when it first arrived. On top of that, the temperature of both my lobster bisque and lamb chops were lukewarm. They both tasted decent, but it might have been even better had the food actually been hot when it arrived. Drinks - meh. I had the 1933 margarita, and it was forgettable. And again, the value is lacking considering it costs $16 for that size drink. Immediately after dinner, we went up to the 3rd floor to check out Zebbie's Garden. It's super cute, and if they ever played anything other than house music up there, I would be back to check it out. Otherwise, I doubt I will ever dine here again

Yelp
I choose this please by pictures ( I have never been there before) to celebrate my birthday. And I'm so glad I did it, food is tasty, looks delicious, cocktails are amazing. All same as I saw in business pictures. The service was excellent. I will definitely come back again soon. one thing for owners to maybe change is, which they use has so strong and disgusting citrus smell. I was so flag lots of people ordered smoked meat, to its can cover this smell.

Yelp
I give this place a 5 out of 5. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. It's so cute, drinks are great, and the food is amazing. I wish we had gone to the club side for a bit

Yelp
If you haven't been here, it's worth a date night experience. Although, my server seemed a bit preoccupied with her other guests, I wont make this post biased based off her lack of attentiveness to my tables needs. Let's start with the drinks, I ordered a Kentucky Mule. Although it was a bit sweet for my liking, it served its purpose when coupled with my meal. The ginger beer was definitely the issue. But, I was informed it was a rail ginger beer, so that is to expected. My other guests ordered the 1933 Margarita's and Prosecco. They were very pleased with their drinks as well. One thing I did not like was that, our drinks came out well after most of our food. Although the restaurant seemed to be at moderate capacity, I felt again that the lack of our servers attentiveness dropped the ball on this experience for us. The table seated next to us came over 30 minutes after us. Granted we had a bit of a wait because we had more people than our original reservation called for. Nonetheless, that was handled and we were ready to order within 10 minutes of seating. Our orders were placed and we still didn't receive our drinks until about 10 minutes after the other tables party was seated AND served with their cocktails. We had a glass of Prosecco that was ordered that we had to remind the server about when we were about to finish our dinner. Now for the food, several people in my party, including myself had the NZ Lamb chops. Let's just say, they were nothing short of AMAZING. The smoke dome presentation was grand, the taste was rather spectacular, and we left feeling satisfied with our portions. 10/10 would definitely recommend. Others ordered Chicken skewers, Halloumi fries, Peri Peri Chicken and the Brie Burger. There were no complaints on the food. The ambiance was very sexy, sleek and modern. The atmosphere was definitely one to remember. I felt comfortable with the spacing, I honestly couldn't have picked a better location to spend my Besties Birthday. Overall the experience was amazing. The only caveat was our server was below par. I understand the restaurant is new, I really didn't feel she gave our table enough attention. Our money was just as good as the other tables she had. Her lack of service is probably one of the main reasons we will not be back. And let's be clear, she was tipped very well from all because of the mandatory gratuity we also tipped extra. I don't know what her story is, and honestly, it's not about that, I do hope that this review gets to the staff and this particular server understands that great service is expected to ALL patrons. No matter what. I'll just leave that there. The rating would have definitely been a 5 if her service wasn't so poor. I wish I could remember her name so anyone reading could steer clear, but, that's how much of a bad impression she left.

Yelp
Food is over priced and you get a very small amount. Service is very slow. Not worth it.

Yelp
Loved the decor of this place. Ambiance was bomb. Food was just okay. Not a lot of vegetarian options or sides. They have 4 sides since changing their menu - black rice, broccolini, potatoes & fries. They were out of the veggie and the only option we had was to buy a salad which was more expensive. I'd return though. I enjoyed the drinks and service was great.

Yelp
Visited on a Thursday night and I was so impressed by the food. We started off with the shrimp feta and Italian meatballs. The meatballs were so delicious and packed with lots of flavor. The shrimp feta was spicy but the shrimp tasted very fishy. We also had the lamb chops which were juicy and delicious. I wasn't a fan of the tzatziki sauce but it was doable. The lamb chops presentation was also beautiful. We tried at the Wagyu steak which came out with gold flakes on it. The steak was also very delicious and cooked how we asked. Cocktails: Mayflower Spritz 4/5. It's on the sweeter end but it was good and very filling Tidal Basin Manhattan was a 5/5. On the stronger end with a hint of sweetness from the orange. Cherry Blossom Margarita: 5/5. We both thought it was a little strong or maybe it was because we were already on our 3rd drink.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed myself here. We were about 10 minutes late for our reservation so we had to wait about 30 minutes for a table. Their rules are their rules so... The place is extremely cute. There are two floors of the restaurant/lounge and then a top garden level. The food was good. However, for the amount that I paid for food, I'd typically get larger portions at other restaurants. Since we dined with them late on a Friday, we were able to go to the top floor aka The Garden at no additional cost. However, we went back to the restaurant/lounge levels because the music was better in the restaurant/lounge area. The whole look of the place aesthetically pleasing. It's decorated beautifully. The staff are extremely professional. I would definitely come again.

Yelp
If you're looking for a great time, good music, beautiful drinks and amazing views, I would definitely recommend. Our server Mario was great and the food was delicious. Please check them out if your visiting the area!

Yelp
Came here for my birthday dinner on a Saturday night with high expectations & had a disappointing experience. The reservation was at 8:15 & the majority of my party had arrived by 8:30, (5/7) yet they still didn't want to seat us until everyone arrived. Luckily someone in my party was pregnant so they obliged to get our table ready around 915pm. Upon arriving to the table, cups & place settings were missing so I'm not really sure what they were "getting ready". The service was subpar & they forget things our party ordered & wait times were long, including bringing my pregnant guest an actual alcoholic drink versus the mocktail she had ordered! They also had very weird rules like we had to order the appetizers & our entrées at the same time, and we could not use our phone ring light to take pictures for whatever reason. The drinks were good but the food was just ok & even some of guests said theirs was cold. The aesthetic was very cute, especially with the seasonal cherry blossom pop-up otherwise it was just OK.

Yelp
I wish I could give them less than one star, but Yelp. My date and I came here initially because we enjoyed the ambiance through the pictures and the menu seemed to match. We made our reservations online which required a $15 deposit per person prior to booking a reservation. We arrived on time and still managed to be seated 20mins later, and it doesn't stop there. We get seated and order our cocktails first as anyone would, to take that time to browse the menu. Our drinks NEVER came! We were able to flag down another waitress to take our order because as you can imagine we were hangry. She kindly comes over and takes our food & drink order. We NEVER GOT OUR ORDERS!!! Unfortunately, another couple came and sat down and were served quickly. As we were waiting with our tummies screaming and our faces screaming disappointment. We watch a large table that we're in a befuddled state obnoxiously yelling and stumbling around. We then understood that this place has poor management that equated to terrible service and just pure chaos. Let's just say we weren't the only table that was unhappy.

Yelp
UPDATE 01/28: it has been over a week since my visit and this review. I tried not to do an update but you all should be warned. I checked my credit card statement 3 days after visiting and this establishment over charged me AND my TWO friends. I have called the establishment twice since I've realized and have yet to hear from a manager. I was instructed to email the manager by an employee, which I've also done TWICE. Extremely unprofessional. I will not be returning! If you do visit pay/tip in cash and make sure you CHECK your statements! I hate to say it, but, this place was mediocre. I was so excited to visit after seeing it on tiktok but it was just not it. When I first walked in the ambiance and the decorations were beautiful. The host met us at the door and checked our vaccination cards and got us seated. Our server was not very pleasant or attentive but he may have been busy as this visit was during restaurant week. The food; we started with a 6 piece canape tower, the presentation was beautiful but the lobster roll had tons of onions and celery in it, we couldn't even taste the lobster and the caviar had so much cream you couldn't enjoy it. Our favorite pieces were the lamb slider and the tuna cone. Next we tried the famous halloumi fries, they came out room temperature and very salty, we enjoyed the dipping sauce though. Aside from the appetizers, for restaurant week, I chose the langostino bisque and it too came out luke warm and my server wouldn't bring me any pepper. Next, I had the lamb chops, the display was beautiful and the lamb was delicious. My favorite part of dinner was my dessert, the phyllo apple pie. I am so happy I came during restaurant week, I would have been upset if I paid regular pricing for this food.

Yelp
This one of DC's newest restaurant/lounge! The aesthetics is what attracted us to the place. Definitely perfect for upscale ambiance and a cute photo op. A few of our friends were late so they let us sit at the bar while we waited for them. They don't seat you until everyone arrives so tell your late friends an earlier time lol Everything from drinks, seating and food are photo ready with beautiful presentation. Drinks were pretty good. Bartenders are really attentive and helpful with the menu. However the food was pretty disappointing. The four of us each ordered different things and felt that everything lacked flavor and seasoning. However, you wouldn't know that just by looking at the plates. We came ready to eat so that was kind of a night dimmer. Although we didn't wait long for food or drinks and service was great. They don't offer anything complimentary for birthdays/special occasions but I still saw a lot of birthday girls celebrating with friends. Around 11 the move tables and chairs and go into full lounge mode. I think this place is great for happy hour, meeting for drinks or for a sexy turn up. Lots of couples as well as large friend groups were there.

Yelp
We came on a Saturday evening although the interior is beautiful it looks kind of like you're in a Michael's store. Fake flowers galore. The music wasn't really our style and it was more electronic with no words. We were curious about one of the tables where you can use hookah and it cost over $1000. The drinks were kind of pricey as well.

Yelp
Love it! So beautiful restaurant with delicious food and amazing drinks! Service is fine, could be improved somehow. I think there was just one waiter upstairs and we had to wait 10 minutes to order second round drinks

Yelp
Saw this resturant in TikTok and I had to try it for myself while I was in the city for a couple of days. I loved the vibe of this place! Such an aesthetic. I ordered the Mayflower Spritz which was very good! I ordered truffle fries because i order them everywhere I go, and they were delicious. As an entree I got the salmon and my friend ordered the lamb. The lemon sauce that goes with the salmon was delicious! And the Brussel sprouts paired well. My friend enjoyed her lamb! Back in the day this place was the Dirty Martini and I really love the new changes !

Yelp
This is a place to go to look cute and take pictures. The decor is amazing. The staff is really good. The food is not worth the price. The drinks were tasty. Wr had the crazy feta shrimp which was tasty but for the price thr shrimo should have been bigger. The lamb was coed well but had a weird mustard on top that wasn't in the description of the food

Yelp
Last week I finally got to check out mayflower a swanky new Mediterranean hotspot in the heart of Dupont Circle. The drinks and appetizers were definitely worth the hype and this hummus was bomb! The main courses didn't really speak to me but service by our waiter Toby was phenomenal! Don't forget to check out zebbies garden next door for cute photos and dancing.

Yelp
I made reservations over a month ago for brunch for my birthday celebration and they canceled my reservations 2 days prior with no explanation. If you have a big event I would not depend on them.

Yelp
They charge my wife $4 for sugar on the rim. That was probably the most unprofessional thing I'd every heard.

Yelp
I would not recommend dining here to anyone. The hostess was welcoming and sat us by our reservation time, however that & the chandelier are the only two positives I have about the experience. Our waitress started by removing our wine glasses prior to asking if we would like to order anything to drink. We ended up ordering a bottle of wine and the bartender had to bring us back a set of glasses to serve us. This is when we discovered that appearance is also in question at this establishment because her pants were unbuttoned. After that uncomfortable moment, our waitress returned to take our appetizer order and, among other things, we asked for the hummus but to have cucumber slices in addition to the pita. We probably should've been more clear because she brought us back chopped up cucumbers mixed into the hummus. Although the service wasn't great, she was the most professional of the staff we interacted with. Another waiter kept vaping while going across the bridge and then would go back behind the bar to share the vape pen with the bartender that served us. He dropped his pen at one point by a table nearby, acknowledged that he did, and then left it there to go back behind the bar to vape some more. Clearly we were not the only ones to notice the lack of work going on because the manager kept coming back to the area near our table to instruct her staff. A couple times there were so many staff members around the bar that we felt we were a part of a team meeting. On top of all the workplace drama happening around us, the bouncers were continuously circulating the restaurant as if there was someone very important in attendance, but they had lost that person. Overall the energy they gave off was somewhat frantic and riddled with anxiety. Lastly the food. The halloumi fries were the only thing I liked at our table. To be fair, my friend said her steak was decent, but my salmon was so salty I think it belonged in the ocean, not on my plate. Overall, this place was clearly built to be a nice dining experience, but they do not meet that expectation. We did not stay for the club here and maybe that is better, but I would never recommend eating here. I understand why they add the service charge automatically because I don't think anyone would even tip the standard 20% and that shows.

Yelp
Unfortunately the various TikTok videos must merely be a work of art. The entire experienced left EVERYTHING to be desired. We had an 8:15 reservation for a party of 4. Placed our order and each of us had a missing item. One person a drink, one person their straw, the other person their skewer and me? Well I ordered the fire shank to preserve impression of this wonderful experience but low and behold my ENTIRE entre never made it to the table but somehow made an appearance on the bill. Imagine watching Lamb shank ablaze one after another walking by but not one of them are yours. To further add insult to injury, the waiter attempted to assure us that it wasn't on the bill. I am glad my girlfriend had taken the check in hand and to verify her findings. And yes, my $54 Fire lamb shank was still chilling on the receipt like it belonged there. I guess acknowledgement of all the mistakes was too much to ask, but not one apology. Absolutely deplorable. My husband scoffed when he looked at the mixture of reviews. Now I am going home hungry to tell him he was right. He better not say I told you so.

Yelp
Great vibe, good music, great photo ops. The food was decent. That spicy shrimp appetizer can go as it was just grill shrimp sautéed in oil. The seafood tower was great. The Salmon with the grill lemon and Brussel sprouts was amazing.

Yelp
From the minute you walk in, this place is VIBES! The food is to die for and the staff is even better. Huge shoutout to Will, he is honestly the best! My favorites there are the: Bacon Wrapped dates & truffle fries. Honesty, could live off those two. Chef Alex knows what he is doing. This place isn't just a restaurant, it turns into a club around 11pm, which is total vibes. I'm not into clubbing much, but the rooftop is to die for. Would recommend for a date night, evening out or for a night that keeps on going!
