Mediterranean & Japanese fusion, glam bar, prime steak & seafood

"It doesn’t get more decadent than “Yoshino,” a cherry blossom pop-up already entertaining locals and visitors alike inside the dreamy Dupont restaurant. The gastronomic spread features a three-course menu priced at $75 per person, and boasts an array of appetizers, main courses, and sweet treats curated to showcase the freshest seasonal ingredients and traditional Japanese flavors. Wash it all down with in-season cocktails for a festive evening." - Vinciane Ngomsi

"Dupont’s luxe lounge blankets prime New York strip with gold leaf and Hennessy peppercorn sauce ($26), served with a side of shoestring fries." - Tierney Plumb
"Fall cocktails have arrived at the stylish Mayflower Club, including a Harvest Sidecar ($17) featuring D’usse cognac, spiced sweet potato, maple, lemon, and a cinnamon-sugar rim." - Kalina Newman

"On episode 12, Ashley Darby hosted ladies’ night at the stylish Dupont club. The well-dressed table got the party started with pricey shots of Don Julio 1942 followed by rounds of draft beers. For food, they ordered oysters and a seafood tower overflowing with shrimp and crab legs." - Vinciane Ngomsi
"Set to open at 1223 Connecticut Avenue NW, this flashy, neon-lit two-level restaurant and lounge serves a Mediterranean-leaning menu and lavender-infused martinis beneath a super-sized crystal chandelier; the 150-seat space is drenched in pink and purple light and packed with over-the-top details like a chandelier floating above a bar framed with a dramatic female profile and a mezzanine lined with magnums of Champagne. Chef Alex Oradei, who last led the kitchen at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, leans into decadence with an 8-ounce prime strip steak encrusted in gold leaf and topped with shaved truffles ($40), plus a voluptuous burger, lamb chops, canapé towers with bacon-wrapped dates and tuna tartare cones, halloumi fries with harissa mayo, grilled octopus, branzino, and langoustine prawns with black rice and cream of saffron. Cocktails ($14–$16) are theatrical as well — from a show-stopping Mayflower Spritz with Empress 108 butterfly peaflower gin and edible flowers frozen in a highball ice cube to the Goldsmith crowned with gold leaf — and the club will operate Wednesday–Saturday 6 p.m.–11 p.m. with a late-night menu until 2 a.m., while brunch and happy hour will be added soon; the venue also fills out a larger three-level complex (five bars total) that can accommodate up to 800 at full capacity." - Tierney Plumb
