The Dining Room is an elevated cuisine experience that overlooks Central Park, with a focus on local and seasonal ingredients by our Director of Culinary, Bill Telepan. We locally source our ingredients from farms within a 150-mile radius of The Met. Window seats can be requested but are not guaranteed.
"The Dining Room at the Met is surprisingly void of any art or flashy interior design, but that’s part of its charm. The restaurant was once only open to members and senior staff, which sort of explains why it has the feel of an extremely nice break room. It’s a calm space with big windows overlooking Central Park where you can take a break from thinking too hard about Flemish Baroque paintings and eat some fresh scallop fettuccine. "As of this Friday, the Met goers can get themselves an iconic Katz’s pastrami sandwich at the museum’s cafeteria." - Carla Vianna
"He also oversees the kitchen at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s restaurant The Dining Room." - Olee Fowler
