"The Mews Restaurant and Cafe is located toward the end of Commercial Street and is a longtime Ptown local favorite—both for the food and the views of the sandy beach and water right outside the windows. The menu is always changing, with stuff like baked miso cod, seared scallops, and vegetarian meatloaf, but you can always count on any of the fish specials being exceptional.  " - jennifer mattson

"While this two-level New American dinner spot is getting a facelift through most of 2024, you can head to a Mews popup at the space that once housed Spindler’s at the nearby Waterford Inn. Order up the scallop cake appetizer, which is a pan-seared patty with leeks, fennel, and creole seasoning. The many global-inspired plates call for lots of return trips to try them all. First-class favorites include the miso- and mirin-marinated cod with sake butter sauce, and the garlic-and-herb-crusted lamb chops with a pesto potato mash and creamy goat cheese sauce. The vindaloo packs a punch, too, with tomato chutney and grilled naan to sop up that tangy sauce." - Nathan Tavares

"While this two-level New American dinner restaurant is a beacon of warmth during the starkly beautiful winter months, the French doors and windows let in sea views and summer breezes, too. Order up the burrata and tangerine appetizer, which is finished off with a drizzle of lavender honey. The many global-inspired plates call for lots of return trips to try them all. First-class favorites include the miso- and mirin-marinated cod with sake butter sauce, and the smoked duck breast served over gnocchi and a velvety truffle-gorgonzola cream sauce. The vindaloo packs a punch, too, with tomato chutney and grilled naan to sop up that tangy sauce." - Nathan Tavares

"The Mews has been feeding Provincetown residents (and a lot of famous people, apparently) since 1964. The current location, which it moved into in 1993, is more cozy and welcoming than is typical of fine dining. The bartenders at the Mews make great cocktails, so get something classic like a Sazerac or an Old Fashioned. Pad the stomach with some crab cakes or duck merguez." - Terrence Doyle

Our first time in Provincetown. On our first night, we came to this charming restaurant for dinner. We arrived just as they opened and got a table upstairs by the windows. The food was just amazing. The lobster bisque was perfect and the miso cod was exquisite. The shaking beef was so tender and juicy. And, the key lime pie was the key limiest. Yum!! 😋😋😋 Want to spoil yourself? Go here for dinner!

Gorgeous restaurant, the two floors are very different from each other: festive and fun upstairs, intimate and elegant downstairs. Love the old school bar on the first floor. The host and servers were absolutely amazing, professional and friendly, they did anything to make us super comfortable, they never rushed us, it was genuinely a pleasant dinner and evening. Very elaborate cocktail and wine selection, and the menu is really adventurous and interesting. I’ll be honest, we weren’t fans of the starters, the broth for the dumplings and the mussels were both a bit too salty and the butter for the breadsticks too hard and not really spreadable, but the entrees were phenomenal. The shaking beef and onions were cooked to perfection, the basmati rice was an excellent choice, but the real start was by far the Cornish hen; crunchy skin on the outside and juicy, flavorful meat on the inside, the mash was silky and smooth, and the butternut squash purée to die for. Overall, a solid, very good restaurant and a beautiful place for a romantic date or a fun night out with friends.

My best restaurant experience in Provincetown so far. Exquisite food and top-notch service! Try the lobster risotto and the carpaccio, along with a glass of Oberon red. I like sitting at the bar and talking to the bartenders who are very friendly. The Mews is a refreshing oasis in a town where the service and food can sometimes be rough.

Absolutely the best! We just finished dinner there and it was delicious!! The service was fantastic and the food was amazing!! I need to give a shout out to the manager Steve and his staff. We had this lovely dinner on the patio in front and had our dogs with us ….unfortunately one of the dogs jumped up and went to see another dog and knocked our wine and plates off the table onto the floor!!!! They took in stride and told us not to worry as they cleaned up the mess. I can’t tell you how kind they were to us and the dogs. I really appreciated their compassion. Thank you so much. If you come to Provincetown do not miss this restaurant….you will not be disappointed in the food and the dinning experience!!

We were seated beach level dining table 15, which has a lovely view up close with sand and surf…just right there. The Caesar salad w/white anchovy fillets was super fresh and tasty. Lobster Risotto and Mews Lobster Vindaloo were both delicious. The Chickwich sandwich was good. We received attentive service start to finish. The Mews is a Ptown classic restaurant that still knows how to treat its guests right!

This was by far the most amazing dinner of our Provincetown trip. When doing my research The Mews came highly recommended and can say for certain it lived up to our expectations. The service was prompt, they meals were outstanding and the views were great. I will quote my partner in saying “that might be the best meal I’ve ever had.”

Great spot. Stopped in for a quick bite. Ate at the bar where a younger and older bartender took care of me. Phenomenal customer service. Made me feel welcomed and taken care of. Food was outstanding and priced well
