The 10 Best Tiki Bars In LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"To be clear, Tiki Mirage is a roving pop-up–but what a pop-up it is. A night at this 12-seat bar inside a moving truck includes rounds of cocktails designed by Thunderbolt (coursed out with elaborate backstories) and snacks from local dessert shops. There’s even a bubbling fountain that everyone drinks from with goblets. To experience it all, you’ll need a ticket booked through their website, and they typically offer two seatings per night for each pop-up. Spots go quickly, so keep an eye on their Instagram for the latest drops and where the truck is parked next." - brant cox

The 12 Best New Bars In LA

"Any good tiki bar needs a few unexpected, over-the-top moments. Tiki Mirage has them in spades. A night at this 12-seat bar inside a moving truck parked in a Chinatown alleyway includes interactive storytelling and godly gift offerings, plus the expected tasty tropical beverages. You'll enjoy rounds of cocktails designed by Thunderbolt (coursed out with elaborate backstories) and dessert from Flouring Cake Shop. There’s even a bubbling fountain that everyone drinks from with goblets. You’ll need a ticketed reservation booked through their website to attend, but they typically offer two seatings per night a few times a week. Spots sell out quickly, so keep an eye on their Instagram for the latest ticket drops. " - nikko duren, brant cox, sylvio martins

A Las Vegas Bakery Is Churning Out the Cookies From ‘Squid Game’ | Eater Vegas

The Mirage reopens on the Strip on August 27 | Eater Vegas

"The resort reopens on August 27 with a roster of restaurants, several lounges, and enhanced health and safety protocols after closing on March 17. Measures include employee screenings and temperature checks, COVID-specific training and testing for staff returning to work, mandatory masks for employees and guests (with complimentary masks available), physical-distancing floor guides and plexiglass barriers where distancing is difficult, standalone hand-washing stations on the casino floor, contactless check-in via the MGM Resorts App, guestroom attendants wearing masks and gloves (with gloves changed between rooms), and electrostatic disinfectant spraying in large public spaces. The property will also continue to phase other MGM Resorts locations back into service, leaving only Park MGM and NoMad Hotel still to reopen." - Susan Stapleton

The apartment building is old and overpriced, but the real biggest problem is cockroaches. After initially discovering the problem, we called management, and they claim to have fixed it, but in reality we have just as many as before. USC students beware- do not rent an apartment here! The last thing you want to deal with during midterms or finals is a roach infestation. edit: I’ve also been informed by other residents that the other reviews (here, not on Yelp) online are fraudulent and not by actual residents.

We’ve been dealing with a roach problem for quite a while, and while management has been very responsive, the problem is still ongoing. It’s been a couple of months at this point. They are very nice people, but unfortunately I have to judge them based on the quality of their apartments, not onhow nice they are.

Cockroach problems! The apartments are pretty decent, but that doesn’t count for anything if there are infested with cockroaches. This also wouldn’t be such an issue if it didn’t take months to resolve. Still waiting!
