The 38 Best Restaurants in Orlando

"Now entering its 10th year of wowing the folks in Baldwin Park, Jason and Sue Chin’s seafood-centric restaurant still anchors the urban neighborhood and continues to be a centerpiece in the city’s dining scene. Helming the kitchen is ex-Luma luminary Michael Cooper, who is as adept at grilling whole fresh catch in a Josper oven as he is at crafting rigatoni, bucatini, mafaldine, and radiatori. The cocktail program and caviar service also shines." - Faiyaz Kara

The 21 Best Brunches in Orlando, 2021 - Eater Miami

"The Baldwin Park stalwart has always been a draw for late-morning risers, but the introduction of disco, jazz, and live folk music to its brunch proceedings only enhances executive chef Michael Cooper’s mid-morning meals. Meals like polenta cake with lump crab, asparagus, tomato jam, and smoked hollandaise and “crispy fried steak” served with cream country gravy can be found on the menu. For less weighty fare, Panacea oysters and shakshuka do the trick. Offered Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m." - Faiyaz Kara

15 Great Takeout Options in Orlando, Summer 2020 - Eater Miami

"Talk about a pivot. When the Osprey Tavern, a centerpiece in the city’s restaurant scene, changed concepts mid-pandemic into a seafood restaurant, local gastronomes took notice. In fact, a seafood concept is precisely what owners Jason and Sue Chin had in mind prior to opening Osprey Tavern in 2015, so better late than never. With chef de cuisine Anthony Watler (Izzy’s Fish & Oyster) at the helm and Reyes Mezcaleria’s Wendy Lopez acting as culinary director, the focus is, well, osprey-sharp be it in a plump Maine lobster roll, a peppery cioppino or skin-on trout with Jupiter white rice and hoppin’ john. Baked Alaska won’t make the best takeout dessert option, though don’t be ashamed eating it in your car. Watler’s rum cake, a recipe passed down from his grandmother, is just as worthy." - Faiyaz Kara

Excellent Experience! ⏩ Recommened Date Night ⏪ The food delicious, and the atmosphere was great... But the star of the show was the service 💯 Absolutely top-notch service throughout the evening from our server Alex. She made the night so much more enjoyable, from her knowledge of the menu to excellent recommendations... She didn't miss a beat. Well done 🎯 The food was great and perfectly crafted and presented. Highly recommend a visit if you haven't been to this gem. Pro Tip: Stop by Blue Jacket's Gastro Pub for a cocktail before or after dinner 🥃🔥

We came for desserts at Osprey tonight and while dessert choice was fairly limited (only 3 offerings) the two that we chose were delectable. Slice of the day was scrumptious carrot cake, and I chose chocolate caramel brownie which was rich and satisfying. The ambience was nice with low lights but a little hard to read the menus :)

Every time I go to The Osprey the food, drinks and service are consistently good. I had the branzino with smashed potatoes which were delicious. Our waitress Katie was super friendly and knowledgeable, you can tell she loves working there! Highly recommend for a celebration or even just a happy hour!

This seafood spot in Baldwin Park, near Tactical Brewing, is definitely worth a visit. The food is well-executed, with fresh ingredients and nice flavors in every dish. They had these tuna nachos that tasted almost like nothing ive had before! Their drink selection is just as impressive, with options that pair well with the menu. The staff is genuinely welcoming and attentive, adding to the overall experience. If you prefer dining outside, they have a great patio setup. The ambiance strikes a nice balance—lively but not overwhelming, making it a great place to unwind. If you’re in the area and looking for quality seafood and drinks, this place delivers.

Google
Came for happy hour dinnner before an event. I would rate it about a 3.5. Ordered the tuna nachos and crab fries as part of the apps. They cook the tuna into the chili so the chili itself overpowers the tuna taste. I would say if they could do a raw tuna style nachos it might work better. The crab nachos all I tasted was the potatoes and not the crab. The atlantic oysters were good , seemed fresh and clean. Reminiscent of Lee and Rick’s oysters. The solid choice was the steak frites dish. Steak was good quality and came out as expected for cooking temp. The sauce seems like a lemon or Dijon aioli instead of your typical peppercorn gravy that you might get. I wanted to try the shrimp and grits and the other dishes that I’ve seen on other reviews but not sure if it was due to happy hour time and different menus ? Or if there has been a permanent menu change ?

We had a very good experience tonight at The Osprey, as the service was really good, and the menu very diverse. That being said, we sat down at 715pm, and our main course didn't arrive until 9:30pm. The manager/sommelier Brent apologized and gave us Hawaiian buns and said, "They actually burned your food, so here's some bread? We really appreciated his expertise on wine, and the wine pairing was good, but if the kitchen makes a pretty big mistake, like burning your food, and that offer is "bread", I think that's pretty pathetic and a bit patronizing if you ask me. I understand you are in Baldwin Park, but please don't insult your customers. We spent over $900 with tip tonight, and you would expect the food would come out in a timely fashion, and if you admit that "we burned your meal" then I'd expect to get something better than just "bread" to make up for the 2 hour + wait for the main course to be served. Great food, nice atmosphere, but a big letdown from management after that big blunder!

Google
This was our second visit to Osprey. First time we came with two other couples and had a wonderful seafood meal. This time we decided to come for happy hour appetizers, which turns out to be a popular thing to do since the prices are more reasonable and they have a decent selection of things to eat and drink at reduced prices. We got there when they opened at five and by five thirty the bar area was filled up. We tried a wedge salad, crab cake and grouper sliders, which were good. We then had fish tacos, which normally are good at most places. These were fish head tacos, which tasted very fishy and were so distasteful that we each only had one bite and couldn't eat another one. This was our first and last experience eating fish head meat. Not sure if it always has a very fishy taste or if it was how they prepared it. So I wouldn't recommend them to anyone unless you like very fishy tasting fish!

Yelp
Happy hour in mid October: We stopped by for happy hour and had such a great time. The food was seriously delicious, and we were especially into the crush puppies and the fish entree. We split a tray of the fish of the day, which was amazing--super tender, perfectly seasoned, and the sauce was light and just right. The fish melted in my mouth. I was so happy with my choice of cocktail. Their version of Aperol spritz is better than the original one if you're into mildly sweet cocktails. For dessert, we went with the deconstructed cheesecake, and it did not disappoint. It had this tangy, yogurt-like flavor (kind of like Chobani) with walnuts and cranberry jam, but way more elevated and refined. I loved it! Everything from start to finish was spot-on, including our extremely friendly waiter, Alejandro, making for a perfect happy hour.

Yelp
Overall, a great experience. Came here for happy hour on a Monday. Normally, happy hour is 5 to 6:30, but is apparently all night on Mondays. Good to know. I had an old fashioned (as I always do) and at $10 it was excellent. Not overly sweet, decent ice (not normal ice, but mid-sized cubes that still work), filthy cherry. Check, check, and let's call it a check minus on the ice. Still great. Ordered a few appetizers off the happy hour menu too. Oysters, the mid Atlantic, were excellent. Fresh, meaty, and great accompaniments. Also had the crab fries. Big chunky seasoned fries, a cheese sauce and huge chunks of crab. Darn good, and would definitely order again. Also, a fish taco, just because it sounded good, and it was good. Just good, not mind blowing, but good. Last, we had the tuna nachos. Now, it says tuna chili in the description, but like most people I would believe, I assumed that meant ahi tuna in a chili aioli. I was wrong. It was a full chili, that honestly tasted like it had beef and yellowfin tuna in it. It wasn't bad, in fact, it was pretty good and larger than I anticipated. Just not what I expected. We finished almost all of it though, so it definitely was good. Overall, a good experience and I would definitely come back for happy hour, and I'd do dinner on a special occasion maybe.

Yelp
You'll want to give yourself a little extra time to park when arriving here, as you'll likely need to do either street parking or head to a nearby garage on Jake street. Street parking is a bit limited. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It has a very nice ambiance inside and there's music played that fits the theme of the restaurant, but it's at a volume level where it's enjoyable and allows you to have conversations with your fellow diners. The service is fantastic. Servers are friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. So service is not a thing to worry about here. The food, overall, is good with a few great items. The crush puppies, made with blue crab, Florida sweet corn and green goddess, were delicious and a definite must try for an appetizer. The crab cake that I had seemed to lack seasoning. It also had a side of watermelon rind that didn't add anything to the dish in my opinion. I'd skip this one. They've got a larger selection of seafood items, and one that I did like was their mussels. So two go-tos are their mussels and their crush puppies. I also like their Salmon Crudo, The fish was tender, delicious and well-seasoned. For my mains, I had their prime flank with bearnaise sauce and fries. The steak was good, but not great. It felt slightly tough, but I did order it cooked medium, which may have led to that. Normally, steak is quite flavorful all by itself, but not in this case. It tastes good, but not that flavorful on its own. If you add the sauce, it compensates for this. This is the rare case where a steak needs a sauce. For dessert, I had their banana bread pudding. I've gotten used to restaurants treating desserts as an afterthought, but this one was ok. It tasted more like banana bread than it did pudding. It lacked the moistness and consistency associated with a pudding. Granted, it was a banana bread pudding, but it still lacked the pudding portion in my view. They compensate for this by adding ice cream to the dish, but it doesn't quite make up for it. So, overall, the food is good and the service is fantastic. Would I come here again? Yes. There's a lot more of their menu left to try. Their stronger points seem to be on the seafood side, so I'd order from that end when you go. The drink selection is also fabulous. My table ordered a honey infused drink and a sangria that were both good. It's a solid restaurant and I recommend trying it.

Yelp
Everything I had was delicious! I obviously not the best at taking pictures while having fun! The food was delicious, from starters to dessert! I would highly recommend the Brussels sprouts! Service was the best I have had in a long time. Extra stars for them as I'm grateful of how patient they were while I was trying to find a wine. Btw if you are gluten free like me have the chocolate peanut butter with no pretzels.

Yelp
Came here for birthday dinner! Everything was perfect, the staffs are attentive and recommended dishes we can shared within the table. The service is excellent, for any occasion they will make you feel so special!! Highly recommend the calamari and crush puppies to share. Flank steak was decent as well. The entries will come with side of fries and you can upgrade your side:) Such a romantic and nice dinner place. Would love to try their happy hour!!

Yelp
Finally got to try happy hour here! We walk by all the time and never made time for it, but I'm so glad we did! The inside of the restaurant is gorgeous, and even sitting at the bar would be a great time. They luckily had walk up seating available on Thursday despite Magical Dining crowds, and our server was attentive and kind. Since we were mainly here for happy hour, we decided on the crab fries and steak frites from that menu, which were perfect happy hour portions and all tasty! The homemade fries were excellent. Although small, the HH drink menu had something for all of us, with a shoutout to the daiquiri as a great cocktail. We also figured we'd get some dessert - why not?! We split the pie and the sundae, and both were delightful. The pie came out as my favorite as a chocolate lover, but both were great to split with friends. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Osprey - Magical Dining I had not been to the Osprey in Baldwin Park in a couple of years and the most recent visits were for happy hour or brunch, which were both great. This visit was no exception and I'd highly recommend it. The area is hard to secure parking as you have to find a parking lot without restrictions or park on the street. It's directly across from Seito Sushi, another fave of ours. This occasion we arrived in time to hit happy hour and magical dining (always a goal of mine!). They have a solid happy hour with several apps and great drinks too. We selected the crab fries, 2 fish tacos and the French onion dip. The fries were so good but quite heavy, so keep that in mind - best to have at least a few people sharing them. The tacos - I only had a bite and saved for later because they were super stuffed and I had a big meal coming. That fish was so fresh and incredible. The onion dip - I haven't had one this good - it was made with crème fresh and actual onions lol. It was hard to stop eating and a very large portion too. We took home a lot of this. For our MD apps, we both had the creamy clam chowder. It was adequately seasoned and quite good. The mains were the rainbow trout - the entire fish - and Prime flank. The trout was flakey and cooked so perfectly that it was divine. Huge portion and took almost all of it home. It was just as good the next day. The steak was delicious. We have had more filet recently so it was not the same but excellently prepared and seasoned. The hollandaise was wow. I ended up using that for my eggs the next morning. For the dessert, the cheesecake and the chocolate peanut butter 'pie' were both delicious. They were both prepared in a glass dish. I would order all of this again!!!! The service was excellent from start to finish by Amanda and her team.

Yelp
I was happy to third-wheel with best friend and her bf because the food was just so good! The surrounding area is so cute and this place is a big reason why! The vibes are immaculate and there was so much care put into the details here, especially with respect to Florida lore. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly too. I highly recommend stopping by if you're lucky enough to get a res!

Yelp
Came for magical dining. We had a mixed experience. The crush puppies were delicious, loved the drinks, and the oysters were great. However, the trout was burnt and left a bitter taste in our mouths. My husband said the Caesar salad was ok and my flank was the same (prob should have upgraded to the strip). My husband loved his sundae and I didn't really like my cheesecake. Will probably be back for happy hour.

Yelp
Went for Magical Dining with a friend recently and it was alright. The salad was my favorite part of the dinner. I ordered the Caesar with anchovies on the side, the Rainbow Trout, and then the Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie. The server did tell us there were no sides to the fish, so I was aware and still ordered it. It was fine, but would have preferred even just a veggie or something to go with it as it was a lot of just one thing. The Peanut Butter Pie was very rich and I could only eat a very small portion of it. Service was pretty slow, and it didn't seem super busy, but I also didn't pay attention to how many tables our server had. They were super nice when they were at our table though. I'm not sure I would go back for food again, but the atmosphere is fantastic so maybe for some drinks at the bar.

Yelp
I found out about The Osprey through their sister restaurant, The Monroe. What got me there was a marketing email for an Easter brunch that caught my attention and I couldn't pass up. To start off this location gives palm beach vibes and has street parking with a garage walking distance nearby. We had a reservation which I recommend. Upon entry, I really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. The setting is nice and so is the decor. It's not a very large space. Shoutout to our waitress Maggie, she was really helpful walking through the menu and we ordered her plate recommendations and they did not disappoint. The prime rib sandwich was absolutely delicious. I don't usually order ribs and I loved it. The serving size was just right, it came with fries and It also came with a side of soup or sauce to dip in or spread and it was just wonderful. It tasted great. I was really happy with how our food came out. The rolls are also fabulous. I like that most of their items are made fresh in house. Sadly, the cinnamon roll was sold out so we missed out but would love to try it sometime. I also ordered the "spice up your life" mocktail and I need to know what kind of ginger beer is used. It was soooo crisp and spicy. I like ginger beer so if you can relate try it but you made need some water, that's how strong it was! There are some restaurants you try once, I would visit here again for brunch and dinner.

Yelp
I have always enjoyed the osprey, especially for dessert and dad jokes. We went to enjoy magical dining and we sure did enjoy it. The food was impeccable and the staff was great. I really enjoy the low lighting at night and decor, it feels elegant, yet homey.

Yelp
Enjoyed dinner here on a Friday night. Made a reservation for 5pm and was surprised how busy it was considering they had just opened. We ordered 8 of each oyster the offered along with crushed puppies as an appetizer. Both appetizers were ok. The PEI mussels were perfectly prepared with a flavorful broth. The whole snapper was fresh, though the side of Brussel sprouts came overly charred but had surprisingly good flavor. The jumbalaya portion was modest with just 3 shrimp, but the Prime Flank steak was cooked to perfection. Solid wine list and attentive service. While portion sizes vary and some dishes like the crushed puppies were average, the fresh seafood makes this place worth visiting if you are in the area.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate one of my favorite people, our fellow Yelper,Madison L. for her birthday! It's a higher end place and has beautiful decor. Our waiter was great but the service was a little slower but maybe that was due to how busy it was that night. We all indulged in the magical dining menu that was a great deal for $40. I started with a cocktail, of course, and went with the Caesar salad, they ask if you want anchovies because it's placed on top, which I haven't seen before. The dressing was light and tasty. This also is a huge salad that quite honestly could have been a main dish. For my main meal, I had the mussels that were incredible and a hugeeee portion, definitely shareable. The bacon was an amazing touch, and the sauce was delicious that it was placed in. I tried my friend's steak and that was incredible as well. Fries were hot and crispy! As if that wasn't enough food, lol, it included dessert and I went with the peanut butter pie which I loved but it was super rich I couldn't eat all of it. I definitely would return here and all my friends also enjoyed their meals!

Yelp
I came in with my friends to celebrate my birthday and we had a wonderful experience! They printed a personalized "Happy Birthday" message with my name. Our server was lovely and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, the ingredients, and how everything was prepared. He made a great wine recommendation that I really appreciate. Service was absolutely fantastic. To drink, we got the Mystery of Okachobee, which was floral and delicious. We got the beef tartare for the table. It was fresh and fun to try. The sourdough bread, olives, and cheeses really elevated the beef. We all opted for Magical Dining. It was a great price and you really get to explore the menu. I got the Caesar salad, flank steak with fries, and the chocolate peanut butter pie. Everything was delicious and had a beautiful presentation. The restaurant was gorgeous and suited the meal well. Overall, this was a fabulous experience and I'm excited to come back!

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. First of all, I have NEVER had as good of service as I had here. We had a server and a trainee, and let me tell you, you would've thought the trainee worked there for years. Both of them were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Loved them. The food was OUTSTANDING. We started off with the oysters which were amazing. I was disappointed because they were out of the salmon, but the server suggested the local catch (swordfish) which I'd never had before so I was nervous. It was phenomenal. My partner got the Petite Lobster Roll and Crab Cake and both were off the hook! Pun intended. To drink we had the pump up the jam and roll in with the homies. Super boozy and unique flavors. Loved it. Finished off with their s'mores dessert, it was excellent. Rich and creamy, but not too much. As far as the restaurant itself, it is stunning. It's very calm and spacious, so no matter how busy they are, everything is still a good volume and feels like you're the only one there. I'd kill to have this place in Houston where I live! So so soooo good!

Yelp
This is absolutely on my top 3 in Orlando and where I tend to bring out of town visitors for a nice dinner. The seafood, the drinks, the oysters, the vibes, the dessert. Everything is so yummy and special, without being fussy. The staff are knowledgeable and laid back. They have great specials so there is always something new to try. One of the most unique dishes I have ever tried is the swordfish sausage. I'd recommend The Osprey for a dinner date, for drinks and oysters, or for a nightcap.

Yelp
I'm honestly pretty annoyed at myself for just now trying this place. My husband and I were in Baldwin Park for a mini holiday photoshoot during golden hour and decided to grab an early dinner after. The Osprey is located just a couple minutes from where we had done photos, so we decided to pop in without reservations to see if they had space for us. We got there just after 5pm and the restaurant was pretty dead so we had our pick of spots inside or outside. Right away I was struck by the warm, cozy, but still elevated feel of the restaurant. They're all decorated for the holidays and it's so beautiful. We picked a corner table inside by the window and it was perfect. We decided on a couple glasses on wine and shared a few items off the menu including an autumn squash salad, filet mignon with fresh black truffle AND truffle better (can you tell we love truffle?), the brownie sundae, and a dessert wine. Everything we ordered was excellent and our server was very helpful with his recommendations. This is one of the only restaurants in the area with a wood fire grill, so opting for the filet was perfect. We finished every bite and it was so tender it cut like butter. Arguably the best part of the meal was the dark chocolate brownie sundae though. It was the most delicious mix of warm and cold and the brownie was so fudgey and nutty without being overdone. This dessert is a must if you enjoy a sundae. We can't wait to come back to try other menu items next time!

Yelp
Located in Baldwin park, nice area. Parking is street parking. Got a reservation, seated promptly even though we arrived early. Everyone was very nice, beautiful restaurant. I got the hermit, it wasn't sweet, kind of like their version of the old fashion, enjoyed it! We started out with the petite seafood tower and it was good! Wished it came with a little more sauce. For the main course, I went for the whole fish, that night it was sea bass, it was delicious. Had to work pretty hard at it since it was a whole fish! But it was well worth it. The husband got the rainbow trout and he enjoyed his dish. Side of truffle corn, pretty good! For dessert we shared the chocolate torte, it was a good size, rich but really delicious with the raspberry sauce on the side. Overall it was an amazing dining experience, food was excellent, staff was fabulous! I wished I remembered our waitress's name because we loved her!

Yelp
The osprey was our Sunday brunch pick this week. Tons of pros and a short set of cons, but the cliff notes version is that this is a great spot to bring your littles for a long and lazy brunch so long as you are well prepared. Pros; Our server Jake was absolutely top notch. He knew the menu inside and out, he brought food for the kiddos so fast it could make your head spin and he was on top of every plate change and modification. Truly A++ service The setting is beautiful. Lovely restaurant and while the don't offer booster seats they have several very clean high chairs available All the ingredients and components of the meal were fresh and lovely. Everything photographed beautifully. The kids brunch was the most delicious thing we ordered tbh. At 8$ it is worth every penny. The potatoes were crispy and fluffy and perfectly seasoned. My littles ate every speck of scrambled egg and the bacon was beautifully crispy. Cons; I think their chef dislikes salt. Even the Bloody Mary needed more salt. It was surprising. The best seasoned dish was in fact the kids meal. I think the descriptions of the items in the menu do not well match what is presented. We ordered the crispy breakfast potatoes and were expecting something akin to poutine. Instead the entire plate tasted intensely of woodsmoke. Wonderful if you are expecting it but very overpowering if you are not. The Szechuan crusted tuna; I'd expect spices to be, well, spicy. This dish is beautiful but lacked flavor. And the spring tomatoes was the most complex and interesting dish, but had our waiter not explained that there would be a raspberry sorbet and the dish would be somewhat sweet, I would have been very disappointed. Also this is a little thing but if a restaurant offers bruleed grapefruit I expect the grapefruit to be a bit more prepared than just cut in half. It was a bit embarrassing to struggle with an unsegmented citrus coated in whole leaf mint and pistachio. I will definitely try the osprey again, but maybe not for brunch. Also trust your server! They will guide you to what's delicious and help you find out what details aren't written on the menu.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful staff. Our waitress was amazing guide to the Osprey show. She really took care of us. Attentive and helpful recommendations! Our table was well taken care of. Calamari, crabcake & hush puppies were delicious! Hot and fresh. Lovely ambience. I enjoyed the art . The salmon was excellent! Rigatoni bolognese was great. Creamed corn side was nice. The mushroom side was divine.

Yelp
I absolutely love osprey they never disappoint. The inside is absolutely beautiful. They really spent some great time on the ambiance and it shows. The service is ALWAYS GREAT everyone is very friendly and they are very tentative. Now the good part is the food the first time I went I had their caviar butter with their rolls which were AMAZING! Very delicious. And a Moscow mule. Their seafood is very fresh and never disappointed me. This time I went I had arrived just in time to enjoy their smash burger which has been hyped in their page I have been wanting to try it due to their bacon jam on top of it. let me tell you It was very tasty. I could only eat half but it was a great half burger lol. Their fries are great as well, salty and seasoned. I can't wait for my next meal there as I will be back very soon!

Yelp
The Osprey is worth a go, especially if you're an avid seafood lover. The oysters are always fresh (great on happy hour special) and there's always something interesting to try on the menu. Recently went for a friends birthday dinner and had a fantastic experience! The waiter greeted us all by name throughout the night after his initial greeting and took the time to review the menu in detail and recommend specialty cocktails since most of the group were there for the first time. Everyone shared appetizers and our entrees; tasting calamari, octopus, crush puppies, mussels, shrimp carbonara... everything was delicious and prepared exactly to our liking. I personally have been on other occasions with people who don't eat seafood and they were able to enjoy the land-faring dishes on the menu. Overall great spot for happy hour with friends, a romantic date night or to celebrate any special occasion!

Had tasty bite at the yelp noir event. A baguette topped with smashed sushi style yellowfin tuna mixed with oregano and fennel. So fresh and delicious. Display was colorful and inviting.

Yelp
I had a nice afternoon snack at The Osprey. The menu looked great all around. As well they have a nice beer selection, which is a great draw. I noticed they had sours, so I went with the Dragon Fruit Mango sour from Destihl Brewery. It has a lite fruit touch and the acidity I like in a sour beer. I started with the Watermelon Salmon Carpaccio and it was a smash hit together. The watermelon played nice with the fruit in the beer and the acidity cut right through the fatty smoked salmon. I really nailed this paring and the chefs prepared it to perfection. I really wanted to get another round of this. Instead I switched gears and went more savory with the Scallop Crudo. And I was a little surprised at how well this paired up with the sour beer. The coconut broth, ginger and finger lime were absolutely delightful with the dragonfruit mango combination in the beer. I was very happy with my service and look forward to coming back to try more. The Ambiance of The Osprey is warm and inviting. With soft lighting and subtle music. It feels modern with a classic core. There is large comfortable bar in the center with plenty of room to spread out and be comfortable with friends or your ipad. They have tables for larger group indoors and they have tables for sidewalk dining.

Let me start by saying this is the 2nd time we have tried this place, and it will be the last! The first time was several years ago and it was unremarkable. We thought we would try it again as the name changed slightly and we hoped it would be better. We also saw their cocktail menu online and it looked amazing so we went with high hopes. First disappointment was that they hadn't updated their online menu so the drinks we saw were no longer available. Second disappointment was the Crush Puppies, they claim to have crab in them and while they were good, they had no crab flavor at all. Next came our fish entrees. Some of us ordered the fish special of pumpkin swordfish. It came only half cooked. We sent it back and waited while the others in our party ate. The black cod special another person ordered was full of bones and tasted fishy. The fish n chips were fine, but nothing special. Our fish finally came back fully cooked but so tough we couldn't eat some parts. They took it off our bill when we requested it. The Caesar salads were very good. The ambiance is very nice and Katie was a great server, so nice, professional, and personable. Really bummed to have to leave this review, but we won't be back.

Yelp
It's my second time there it takes about 25 minutes before anybody approaches you that's how busy this place is 33 minutes later I place my order for some oysters they were not tasty plus I didn't get my horseradish or my cocktail sauce unfortunately they were very Sandy and had bits of shells where I had to keep spinning them out. But on a good note this was the best Caesar salad I've ever hadI give it a six out of 10 Clean your oysters please No sand in the oysters please faster service please

Yelp
I loving visiting the Osprey. This is a "Good Salt" restaurant. Same owners as Reyes, and the Monroe. Here at the Osprey they focus on Seafood. I spent a lot of time coming here for Happy Hour over the years. I can guarantee you it's worth it! My favorite part about it, are the $2 oysters. (I remember when they were $1 :'( ). Yummm! Indoors, you can expect it to look and feel amazing (just like their sister spots). Lovely vibe! Outside of the oysters, I very often order their Fish & chips - lightly fried and fluffy, flavor is there! Cocktails here are delicious too. They are located in Baldwin so parking can be challenging depending on what time you go. Only street parking available.

Yelp
This was my last dinner in Orlando, and my favorite restaurant while I lived here. The food and staff were always exquisite. The restaurant is beautiful and a great spot for people watching. The Good Salt restaurant group consistently delivers excellent food and experiences.

Yelp
This wasn't my first time trying this place. It's a good restaurant, but I am not quite sure why they constantly change "themes." The service was okay; it started great but got terrible towards the night's end. The food is good but not worth the higher price tag, in my opinion. I got fish and chips, and it was very tasteless; the sauce it came with lacked of flavor, too. The brussels sprouts were overcooked and very dry. If you're thinking about ordering the Petite Lobster Roll, just know that it's really "petite". The music was good, and we had a great time regardless. (I didn't do a great job with the photos, sorry for that!)

Yelp
Had family in town for the holidays so I invited them out for happy hour/dinner we started off with the calamari and fish tacos, which were good. All of us but one ordered the steak frites and regardless of what temperature we ordered they all came out charred on the outside but varied in ranges on the inside. Quite odd. my husband ordered the jambalaya and It was extremely salty beyond over seasoned. We kept on having to hunt down our server as it was a busy Friday night which I guess can explain the bad food we all received ? I may go back to give them another try and I'd probably stick to the seafood, but definitely not a good impression.

Yelp
If you're a fan of oysters, this will be your go-to spot for happy hour when the mood strikes. My boyfriend and I have been meaning to try it out for a while now and finally got around to it - We were not disappointed! We started off with white wine from the HH menu. I had a glass of Chardonnay (dry and buttery - just the way I like it) and he chose the Sauvignon Blanc (not my thing but he gave it two thumbs up). They offer $2 oysters (Mid-Atlantic or Florida) Tuesday-Friday from 5-7pm. We chose to sample both types of oysters to see what we preferred and we agreed that the Florida oysters were superior (the Mid-Atlantic are larger but the Florida packs way more flavor). Both were super fresh and served with lemon, cocktail sauce & horse radish (beware: enjoy the horse radish in very conservative quantities.. it was HOT!) If you're in the mood for something other than oysters for happy hour, i highly recommend their calamari. Generous portion for happy hour prices and absolutely delicious (the citrus aioli was addictive). If you're in the mood for something not on the happy hour menu and you're a soup lover, the butternut squash soup was ridiculously good - So flavorful and rich! Not only was the food superb, but the service was top notch and it never seems to be a challenge to get in here. I made reservations just incase, but it would have been easy to get seated right away had we not made one (For reference, we came in on a Wednesday at 5:30pm). The ambiance of the restaurant is extremely aesthetically pleasing, upscale & trendy. 10/10 recommend this spot for happy hour! PS: Many restaurants force you to sit at the bar to take advantage of the happy hour menu - NOT at Osprey! Loved this gesture and it will keep me coming back.

Yelp
Updated review some 8 years after my original: My brother and SIL just love seafood and oysters, so I decided to take them here while they were in town from JAX. I knew I loved their brunch (see previous review, though perhaps outdated) - but would I love their dinner? So, we showed up at 6pm on a Weds, which was just in time to catch their happy hour. It was 90% full, and the large bar was completely full. That's a good sign. We had a reservation and were seated and offered the cocktail and happy hour menus. Our server, Casey (sp?), was enthusiastic and explained everything was made in house and went over the menu. The HH (5p - 6:30p) is a very good deal if you like oysters. $12 for 6 with ALL the sauces and such. We ordered a dozen Mid-Atlantics, and they were huge and delicious! Hot sauce, horseradish, cocktail, and mignonette - all house made - sealed the deal. Best $24 I've spent in a while. We also ordered a round of cocktails, which were all excellent and creative. I would love to come back and have a few oysters and drinks by myself at the bar. After that, our table was promptly cleared and replenished for our apps. While I'd hate to be the dishwasher, this was some great service and occurred consistently and without any delay. I can't stress enough how good the service was. We ordered the Sichuan crusted tuna app, and it was so, so good. I could eat 10 pounds of it. Spicy crust, cool fresh tuna, and a delicious spring pea sauce. Just try it. We then ordered our mains. Brother got the catch of the day, which was a large piece of tilefish on a spring pea and 2 cheese gnocchi. It was outstanding and I will order this next time. SIL got the Thai steamed mussels with fries. OK, first - get the fries with parm & garlic. Everyone agreed they were some of the best we've ever had anywhere. The mussels were delicious and so different from the typical white wine prep. I could drink the coconut broth. I had the crab primavera pasta. Honestly, this was the only miss. It was good, and the homemade pasta (all of it is) was delicious, but it was pretty bland and could have used more sauce or something. I appreciated all the perfectly cooked fresh veggies, but would not order this again. Finally, we closed with the flourless tort, to go, which included chopped peanuts, fresh whipped cream, and a sour-sweet raspberry sauce. It was a great treat. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and will definitely be heading back soon!

Yelp
First time here and will not be returning. Terrible experience. Waited an hour for my entree just for it to come out incorrect! Horrible. Would not recommend at all.

Yelp
I don't come to Baldwin Park very often, but I'm happy I finally got the opportunity to try this place out, it had been bookmarked for months. As soon as I walked in, I loved the decor...it was almost as pretty as the person I went with (refer to my picture) I feel like Good Salt Restaurant Group really gets it when it comes to creating a nice space. I have also been to the Monroe and Reyes and got the same feeling when I walked in. So kudos for aesthetically pleasing places. The highlight of my visit was a tie between the pull apart garlic cream cheese bread and our server Maggie. Both were equally awesome, so ask for both. (You're welcome.) We were there for the brunch menu, and decided to get a few things to pick on, everything was good. Our cocktails were excellent, I definitely want to go back to try the dinner menu and have actual seafood next time. There's parallel parking available or a parking area across the street from the restaurant. -Make reservations.

Yelp
Went for a family brunch and had a very pleasant time with great company and wonderful service. Our server was exceptional and recall from another business however moving out of state unfortunately so will be definitely miss their awesomeness:) The items we ordered were plentiful and absolutely delicious. Very well presented and temperature was on point. Knowing how busy brunch time can be, we appreciated it so much. A bit long to get the dishes but we were enjoying our company while waiting. The ambiance speaks for itself, as when you enter the feeling of being welcomed and the openness of the modern yet cozy decor and combination of seating was lovely. We were seated at a comfy booth to the left of the entrance. There are tables along the window with the view of the street which are nice as well. Be sure to request these if you prefer a view because they get quite busy :) This was our second time here and do recommend a visit. We will be back in the near future :)

Yelp
The Osprey is one of my favorite restaurants in Orlando and a definite 5 star experience. I do believe their calamari is the best I've had, and I love calamari. My girlfriend doesn't really like calamari and she likes this calamari, so it's winning hearts and minds at every end of the spectrum. Their cocktail menu is always evolving and excellent, 90s themed drinks last time I went. First entre I had was cioppino and it was great, everything you'd want out of a cioppino. Top sirloin was top notch our first visit, slightly over cooked second visit. If the branzino is available, drop everything you're doing and head there now. Crispy delicious edges with soft, flaky, flavorful bites throughout. This was a memorable dish that stood out from all the rest. We had the same waitress both times, she delivered 10/10 service and remembered us. Called my drink order a "patio crasher" which made me laugh. The Osprey is a cut above most restaurants you'll try in Orlando.

Yelp
Wonderful cuisine, atmosphere and service. Definitely would recommend this restaurant to others seeking an adventure for their tastebuds. The magical dining menu was great. My husband had the clam chowder, I had the crab cake as appetizers. For our main course my husband chose the trout and I chose the mussels. Both entrees consisted of generous portions and were very flavorful. For dessert my husband had the banana bread pudding and I had the cheesecake. Both were scrumptious. We left happily satisfied. Will definitely return in the future.

Yelp
Everything's delicious and the dishes never miss! The servers are attentive and knowledgeable. The restaurant has great decor, an awesome bar, and offers outdoor dining too. Recommend spicy margarita, raw oysters, caesar salad, and the whole grilled fish (ours was Spanish Mackerel). Yum! They don't book same-day reservations so plan a night or two in advance.

Yelp
Heyyyyyy you guyssssss! We stopped in for a mocktail, a mule, a sangria and a spicy margarita. This place is always a great time, the bar had plenty of seating on Wednesday. Hunter was our mixologist and he was on point! We shred fries and blue crab hush puppies super yum!!!

Yelp
Very disappointed and wont be returning!! I was told by the manager that my prescription glasses were kept in the manager's office for me to pick up. When I arrived they let me know that someone had stolen them. They did not follow up or offer any add'l options. Disappointed in a nice restaurant's ability to service and trust the managers. these were expensive prescription sunglasses!!!

Jacob J.

Yelp
Very good food, not exceptional though. I would recommend not using curry on the crab cake, it is too powerful. Also I would take the crab out of the hush puppies and make them bigger, to get more bang for your buck for a normal diner. The steak and fries were great. Cheese cake had interesting flavors. It did take 1:30 to eat here and it was just me dining.

Yelp
The Osprey has been on my "Orlando restaurant staples" list since they opened, and I've loved watching them evolve over the last 7 years. I'm a big fan of their more recent seafood-focused menu update with Chef Michael Cooper at the helm, and everything I've had their in the last year has been phenom. I personally prefer to sit at the gorgeous bar whenever I dine here, and the bar staff is top notch. They have a great oyster happy hour (Tues-Fri 5-7pm) featuring 1/2 off mid-atlantic oysters and $2 off Florida oysters. You can also get $8 cocktails, $7 wines, and discounted apps. They have an amazing Sunday brunch (11am-3pm), including shakshuka, shrimp & grits, a killer breakfast sandwich, loaded breakfast potatoes, and yummy pastries like the glazed honey bun. I also love their espresso martini here and get it just about every time. I have a long list of dinner time favorites and my favorite thing to do is order a ton of small plates to share. My top picks are the sweet Hawiiaan rolls with caviar butter, Florida corn soup, smoked salmon dip, calamari, PEI mussels (get extra bread for dipping in that sauce!), smoked wings, scallop ceviche, red snapper crudo, and, of course, oysters on the half shell. They recently added seafood towers and caviar service to the menu, which I'm looking forward to trying soon. I know I really need to try more of the main entrees, but I just love all the starters & shareables so much. This is definitely my go-to spot when I'm craving delicious seafood!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here for a magical dining date night. We went on a Saturday with a reservation time of 7:45pm. We got there early and it was busy so we got a drink at the bar. For the magical dining they had wine pairing for $20 (1/2 glass during app, full glass during main course, dessert wine with the dessert), so I got that. Thought it was a good deal! The calamari had a great crisp on it, but the flavor was a little hit or miss, some good bites and some bland bites. You get a white dipping sauce with it, but I didn't find it necessary. The octopus bolognese was really good, both my boyfriend and I got that for our main dish. It was ground octopus instead of chunks, so the flavor was definitely throughout the sauce. For dessert I got the crepe brûlée and my boyfriend for the chocolate panacotta. We took a bite of each other's desserts and I enjoyed his better than mine, so in pure relationship fashion, we switched desserts! (He liked mine more as well). It was a good experience and a nice restaurant! We don't live near baldwin park, but it's on our side of town. We wouldn't have made our way out here if it wasn't on magical dining. But, I'd come back again!

Yelp
Fabulous lunch with my son visiting from Vegas! Dined for a relaxing breakfast into lunch. A happy place for earthy refreshing cocktails. Will recommend these banana loaf & "special" butter! Try fresh Oysters platter & a healthy succulent grilled shrimp salad. Their friendly staff adds to a relaxing day in Baldwin Park.

Yelp
A place that deserves us to return, the atmosphere is pleasant, the service from the host to our server Joe was excellent, the food was very well presented and good tasting, a wide variety of drinks and wine list. Thanks for the experience.

Yelp
5 Stars for outstanding service, cocktails that can't be beat, and oysters that make my heart sing! Sometime during the pandemic, The Osprey shifted to a focus on seafood. I hadn't been there since (I live with a vegetarian and there aren't a ton of vegetarian options on the dinner menu), but recently hit it up for an after-dinner drink and then for happy hour on another day. I'm hooked! (pun intended) First off, gotta call out the lovely and SUPER knowledgeable server, Danielle. She's been at The Osprey for a while and it shows. Not only is she incredible nice, but she has the answer to any question you have about the drinks or menu. Legit- this lady was talking to me about the process of how the Fiji rum is distilled and then going through a detailed description of every oyster type they have available at that time. I was blown away by her! Speaking of rum, I *had* to try the plantation rum flight. Each rum was so different, and it really gave me a new appreciation for the varied flavor profiles in a spirit that can sometimes be overlooked. My favorite? The rum from Fiji! It was funky and had an almost-Scotch-like flavor. I was also able to try the spirited away cocktail and loved the creaminess of it (tajin on the rim?? YES PLZ!). Overall, I am a fan of this restaurant. Its ambiance is perfect for a date-night, they have a killer brunch, a private area for small groups, and seafood that will make you squeal with delight (including a new caviar menu!!). Enjoy!

Yelp
We visited the Osprey on a Saturday and ordered a Grand Plateaux. While the service was great, the food fell a little flat. Neither me nor my companion enjoy fish dip so we decided to forgo that in leu of scallop ceviche. On the plateaux, the two items we enjoyed most were the oysters and the shrimp which also happened to be the only unmodified items on the plate. The mussels were cooked nicely but the sauce was a little underwhelming. Neither of us particularly cared for the seasonal crudo, and the lobster Louie had just enough flavor to mask the lobster but not enough to leave an impression. The scallop ceviche was very good though. We also ordered some Hawaiian buns with caviar butter which were excellent. The house made kettle chips which came with the plateaux were also very good. Overall, I don't know that I would visit the Osprey again. I think that there are places with more unique takes on seafood. If I did visit, I would order everything a La carte.

Yelp
I have been eyeing this place since I moved to this neighborhood, and it did not disappoint. Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and the ambiance and service was divine. From the moment we walked in, to the end of our dinner. The cocktails were fabulous, and so were the mock tails. We ordered mussels, and a seafood tower and it was so delicious. I am still thinking about their tuna crudo. We also had dessert and it was just as delicious . Honestly they hit every single mark for me. They offer indoor and outdoor seating but we sat in for dinner by the wine cellar. Definitely need to make my way back here for their brunch. Highly recommend!
