Walk by often and decided to stop in on a Sunday evening. It was nearly empty, I wasn't sure if they were even open. Due to this, service was very attentive and I loved our cocktails. The food was hit or miss, the crab risotto and the tuna starter were disappointing, but the crab cake and my partner's mushroom risotto side were amazing. The ambiance is interesting and something to comment on, but the artwork cheapens the atmosphere imo. Also, they keep it pretty chilly in there, if you get cold easily, definitely bring a sweater!

We had an event downtown and wanted a solid, upscale, amazing restaurant downtown. The Palm did not disappoint ! We were so bummed when the palm Beverly Hills closed and this made up for it 10 fold. Our waiter Peter was extra attentive, knowledgeable, and awesome 💗! LOVE HIM!!! The food was stellar 🎉🎉🎉💃🏿, and the room was warm, large and inviting 💗 We aren’t downtown that often for dinner but what a great option!!! Love it!!! We will be back!!! Stellar⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hosted our companies Holiday Dinner here. We got a private room for our small party and everything was set up beautifully. Lydia was great coordinating everything for us. Once we were there the Manager Lamont and his team were amazing. They took such great care of us. Danny our waiter was truly our hero as everything was timed perfectly and we felt really taken care of. As the host, it could be stressful, but The Palm made it seamless. Food, service, and atmosphere = A+ all the way!

This Palm location is consistent with most of the other locations I've visited. Similar decor, seating, and atmosphere. Service was pretty good, but with a couple of notable exceptions. When greeted, we were offered "a large bottle of water for the table." I wasn't clear if this meant tap water or purchasing bottled water for a fee, so I asked and it was the latter. Felt a little slippery to me. Also, our entrees took a lot longer than what was communicated to us, but I think that's because when we sat down the place was nearly empty and 20 minutes later it was busy. The drinks were very good; I ordered the Moscow Mule. Wedge salad was enjoyable and the stuffed sea bass was also well prepared. A better variety of dessert options would have been nice. I would return again.

I had the absolute worst allergic reaction I've had in 10 years here. I'm allergic to all nuts and I wasn't told that there are nuts in the bread. Specifically, the round bread with raisins (I think) that comes in the bread basket given to the table. Good wine and the dinner with my family was super fun, until my body went into full-on allergic reaction mode 3/4 way through dinner. I should have taken my epipen with me, but I left it at home. Why 5-Star review then? Because not everyone is allergic to nuts, and my pain and suffering should only be a warning to others like me (which there are few). Other than being accidentally poisoned, I think the food is great. Will I be back? Probably, but only after the memory of pain and suffering subsides over a few years.

The palm was really nice place to have a nice steak. Mashed potatoes were overly garlic but then again our (many times too familiar) server reiterated they were garlic mashed potatoes. Food was delicious service was a little uncomfortable. Ambiance was very nice with high ceilings.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Palm in downtown Los Angeles. We ordered a bit of everything, so I'll just talk about what I liked the most. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and was very tender. We ordered a few of the sauces and while they were pricey vs the amount, the chimichurri and peppercorn are worth adding.... The au gratin was my favorite side dish, it was creamy and flavorful, wish we ordered two servings honestly. Lastly the dessert and the key lime pie hit the spot but being full from the dinner, we had it to go. Overall, I had a great experience at The Palm and would definitely recommend it to others! Worth it especially for special occasions.

I had dinner tonight and had one guest. My server Heather informed me that the L.A. Downtown Palms location is closing on 12/31/24. I have my Caricature just behind Booth # 1. I have been a club member since 2005. The closest Palms for me will be in Las Vegas. The food choices and the bread has changed through the years. The food and great service is still very good. My server and the manager were very attentive to our dining experience. I hope Palm regulars will visit before closing. Do order: Seared Scallop as an appetizer, Palm Duo of an 8 ounce Filet Steak & an 8 ounce Lobster Tail, Wild Mushrooms & the Fresh Asparagus grilled with garlic. Beautiful restaurant located walking distance to Crypto Arena. I came here for a quick happy hour bite before the game. The exterior of the restaurant is pretty dark. I almost couldn't tell if the restaurant was open or not. I was able to snag a spot at the bar. Happy hour is M-F, 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM in the bar area. FOOD - Oysters on the Half Shell 4/5 - The Palm "Mini" Meatballs 5/5: Juicy & Plump - Calamari Fritto Misto 3/5: Nothing special. Good flavors but could be more crispy. - Waygu Burger 3/5: Overcooked and dry. Little to no flavor. Needed a type of sauce. The fries were also flavorless & the buns they used were too hard. The restaurant does have potential. I'd like to come back to try the items on the regular menu. Our server/bartender was very quick and attentive.

Spending a weekend in downtown Los Angeles with my wife. We decided to have a late dinner one night at The Palm. We were within walking distance to the renown restaurant. So we decided to go on foot. Originally starting in New York. The Palm has literally branched out to different parts of the U.S. including Chicago, Atlantic City, Boston, Houston and Las Vegas. The Palm is an upscale steak restaurant with old school charm. Lots of varnished wood fixtures and tables covered in white linens. On the surrounding walls are hand drawn charcitures of local and popular celebrities who have dined there. Adding to the nostalgia. Overall service here was amazing from the maitre'd, to the waiter and busboy. We felt very comfortable and taken care of the whole time. We never had an empty water or beer glass. Every thing in the menu is ala carte or also referred to as Family Style. With a large variety of steak cuts. The wife ordered a filet mignon and I ordered a bone-out ribeye. Both were mouth watering melt in your mouth. Been to many steak houses. These were one of the best we have ever eaten. We paired that with au gratin potatoes that were creamy, cheesy with a nice bite of perfectly cooked potatoes. We also ordered a large salad beforehand that easily served two and bread was brought to our table before that. To top it off. A decadent dark chocolate mousse cake. Delicious. Can't say enough good things about The Palm in downtown Los Angeles. Definitely looking forward to the next time we can come here. The atmosphere is great. The service is great. The food is amazing. The main reason to come here. Support local businesses especially the good ones. The Palm is awesome. One of the best steak houses I have ever eaten at.

Almost 35 years ago a client of the firm I worked at rewarded me and another clerk with dinner paid for at The Palm on Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood. I have not been back to the Palm at the location downtown, which had been open for 25 years, until last year when I was attending a concert at the Grammy museum. With regret I did not post my review and now I found out that the restaurant is permanently closed. Perhaps it is a restaurant from a different era or the location was not very good although it was close to LA live and Staples Center. This is a classic dining experience with professional servers offering excellent American food in a setting befitting casual elegance. The restaurant boasted Hollywood nostalgia with photographs and memorabilia adorning almost every space in the restaurant. It is sad to see this restaurant from an earlier era in Los Angeles now permanently closed.

Reservations were made easy and we were guided to our table right away! The waitress came took our drink orders and came to the table with bread and butter. The bread and butter is amazing. What was best was the 16 ounce prime ribeye steak, garlic potatoes and mushrooms. Not to mention the chocolate cake was also one of the best cakes around. The ambience is beautiful. We got there before it got dark so it was nice and lightly dimmed. Everyone did a good job and we had a nice crowd around the table. Good dinner tonight. I've been to The Palm in Bevery Hills years ago, but apparently it has closed down. My date and I came to the dtla location instead, but had a hard time finding it. Finally, we found it was on the corner of Flower St but seems like not a well thought out location. We couldn't find valet but luckily we found street parking close by because the parking site on the same street seems a bit sketchy. We didn't have a reservation but was able to get a table right away. We each ordered a filet mignon steak and lobster tail, but I guess our bartender/waiter didn't hear I wanted a lobster with my steak so it came out at the end. The cocktail shrimp was served already dipped in cocktail and horseradish sauce mixed together. Man, the horseraddish was sooo overpowering that both my date and I could barely continue through. The restaurant really should have the sauces on the side. He also ordered the potato gratin and hashbrowns together since the combo goes well together. I guess they used to have steam clams on their menu but it's no longer offered, so that was a bummer. Overall, I like the old vibe of this place. There's a mural painting of celebrities on the wall, which I heard at the original restaurant in NY cartoonists would pay for their meal with these drawings. The ones at the LA location seems to be recent and replicas. Either way, the original story and history behind is cool and a special place to dine.

I haven't been to The Palm in a couple of years. I recall my last meal here being fantastic all-around, and this trip (a birthday dinner) proved no different. The food was excellent and the service was phenomenal. I left full, happy, and looking forward to my next visit. I tried their Lobster Summer Series meal for 2, which came with 2 starters, a choice of a 4, 5, or 6 lb lobster, and a dessert to share. We opted for the 4 pounder and added a 6 oz filet to share. The lobster was perfectly cooked, as were the filet, bisque, and creme brulee. The real star was the service. From the moment I was warmly welcomed and seated immediately despite arriving nearly 30 minutes ahead of my reservation, to our server Jordan making us feel so at home and working with us for all requested modifications, to all of the other staff that happily stepped in to bring our drinks or crack the giant lobster claws table side, to the seafood bib service - everything was just perfect. The greeting as we walked out after the meal where they held the doors open for us just capped off a great evening. Pro tip: The Palm is now part of the Landry's Select program! And there is plenty of parking in lots and garages within a block - just have to pay up to park, since it's downtown (you should be able to find parking in the $5-20 range). Top notch restaurant with top notch people. Looking forward to coming back!

Great happy hour specials. We live in the condominium next door and drop in here occasionally for a drink and apps. Always a great time at the bar. We have never dined in the main dining room, so can only give the bar five stars. Bartenders are amazing.

Had the opportunity to try this place out with colleagues after seeing it around for years. And in my honest opinion - it was just OKAY. It was busy and I can see people enjoying it, but there wasn't anything special about it for me. It could very well may be what we ordered, which were the palm meatball, garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus, and filet mignon. For dessert, we had some type of donut hole and cannoli. I liked the meatball and the donut hole the most - they actually made my eyes widened when I bit into them. The garlic mashed potatoes were pretty good also, but I've also had better mashed potatoes at several other places. I had the same thoughts regarding the cannoli as well. The filet mignon at least was cooked correctly - medium rare as requested. That part can be easily be messed up at other restaurants. It had a good texture but lacking in some flavor. The asparagus was just okay too - fine for this dinner but nothing special. The presentation was also very basic and nothing really exciting about it. I almost felt like I was having dinner at a wedding reception. Again, that's not necessarily BAD, but for the prices of the entrees, I would like my food to give me a little more satisfaction. I've been told the Palm is good and worth a try. I'm glad I was finally able to try it, and if someone happened to treat me to dinner there, I can enjoy it. But if I was able to choose, I would look to see what else is available in the area.

I recently went to The Palm while visiting some family before going to a Lakers game and couldn't be more impressed! The food was delicious, especially the lasagna, and our waitress was very friendly and attentive which was great since we had a bit of a time crunch before the game. The ambiance was also fun, as there were famous portraits lining the walls, and there was a sense of privacy as well since the booth walls were higher than the norm. Highly recommend for an excellent meal!

I used to come here regularly when I first moved to DTLA over a decade ago because there just weren't as many dining options in DTLA back then, and the Palm is within walking distance from where I live. Although I've gone back from time to time, I went back last week for the first time since the pandemic, and I have to say I was super disappointed...I have such great memories dining here, but sadly the Palm has become a shell of what it used to be. I always used to get the bone in ribeye but wasn't feeling like I wanted something so fatty so I opted for the NY strip this time... which may have been a mistake, or maybe all the steaks here have gone downhill since the Palm's heyday. The NY strip was not very good...overpriced, overcooked, rubbery, and lacked flavor. I think I enjoyed the half & half (cottage fries and fried onion things) more than the steak. I ordered a few drinks, and no joke, I think they were the stingiest drinks I've been served in a long time... especially after I found what they charged me for each one. I always sit at the bar, and the bartenders used to be amazing but the service now is just merely ok...it just wasn't the same hospitality and friendliness. This Palm location used to cook a mean steak and the service used to be top notch, but it's unfortunately has become an overpriced tourist trap for anyone going to Crypto Arena.

I haven't been to the palm since before Covid. I had a gift card I needed to use and decided to give it a shot since I loved it so much pre-Covid. After making reservations, I started reading the negative reviews and got a little worried. However, I have to say that the palm has not changed in terms of the quality of their food or their service. We received excellent service. As soon as the bread basket emptied, someone was immediately there to ask if we wanted more. My water cup never reached empty. I dropped my napkin on the way the restroom and someone immediately came up w a new napkin. I was so impressed with their service. Then our actual entrees came out. We ordered the center cut filet w chimichurri and bearnaise sauce. I loved the chimichurri. Very herby and flavorful. Our filets were perfectly tender and cooked to perfection per our medium rare request. The only thing that sucks is they got rid of their valet service, so parking sucked having to pay $20 for (I'm not sure if there are cheaper alternatives). Overall, I am very pleased that the Palm is still a great place for quality of food and service.

Amazing service and food at this location. We are members of the Landry's Club and wanted to try The Palm as members. We were not disappointed and fell in love with the place. We were warmly greeted by the manager and staff upon entering. We were seated quickly at a table surrounded by the Cartoons and Caricatures on the walls, trying to identify if we recognized or knew anyone. It became a mini-game for us. Our waitress was friendly to point out the meaning behind the Cartoons and Caricatures as it started in New York as a way for artists to paint murals in exchange for paying for their food. It caught on and examples of that are here at the restaurant. You will occasionally find actual signatures from famous people and local stars if you look closely. We started with a dirty martini which was excellently prepared. It was very delicious and a great compliment to the meal. We started with the Shrimp Bruno. It was amazing!! It was delicious, tangy, and savory. Highly recommended if you come here to the Palm. Next, we got Filet Mignons. They were very delicious, cooked perfectly, and melted in my mouth. Absolutely amazing. Finally, we ended with the Zeppole. It came with THREE sauces: Chocolate, Caramel, and Raspberry. Holy Moly. Absolutely delicious. They were warm and tasty. Dip in the sauces or a combo of them and we were in heaven. Highly Recommended. We had a great experience at The Palm and had a very friendly conversation with the manager who talked to us about the history of the Palm. We definitely will be back!

Managed to score street metered parking on Christmas Eve! We had a private room as well. Service was excellent. I loved the dark rye bread and whipped butter. I asked for a virgin marg. The sides of fried onions, creamed spinach, mushrooms, and risotto were all good. It's quite pricey here, and I found the food to sound really good on the menu, but was very flavorless. We ordered a seafood tower for close to $100 and the steak tartare and poke were very plain. I ordered the octopus and bone marrow pasta but it was very bland. My brother ordered $25 extra price for white truffle but he couldn't tell. The pasta here is all dried (not fresh) with egg in it, FYI.

Popped in here for a cocktail before heading over to Crypto for a basketball game. Just hung out in the bar, but they have more reasonably priced drinks that I would have expected for a high end steak house, and the staff is great. We did end up working through most of a basket of bread and tried the steak carpacio app, which was very good. Definitely worth a hop into the bar for drinks before future games.

After about a 5 year hiatus pre-covid, decided to go back with pops for their lobster special. The lobster itself was ok, but everything from the calamari (awful beyond words batter separated, reheated junk served 5 minutes after ordered) the starter bread (all stale reheats to semi-stale salvages) to the chocolate cake at the end (an absolute gross caramel and blander than a 7-11 prepackaged chocolate cake disaster) was terrible. Caesar salad was decent not great. Im guessing because its their down season, what with no NBA or NHL they don't stock/prepare fresh foods and just reheat stuff. Needless to say wont be back. Good service and greetings but very disappointing to say the least.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend & I was skeptical to go because of the rating & reviews. We made reservations before going to a concert at the Crypto Arena. We got there and were seated right away. The interior is tired and outdated & corny af to be quite frank. There's like caricatures of famous old people just plastered everywhere. So ugly. I ended up ordering the wedge salad & sharing the pasta. The wedge was good, the pasta was bland. We also ordered the calamari as an appetizer and our waiter forgot about it. We ended up getting it after our entrees. The calamari was dry and had little flavor. My old fashioned was good, but I think it would take a lot for someone to mess up an old fashioned. All in all, I was not impressed and it was mediocre at best. There are a bunch of great places near the Crypto.com Arena. This is just not one of them.

If you're looking for a good steak, do NOT come here. This place is purely for ambiance and service, both of which are great. But it's way expensive for what it is and I wouldn't come here again. I had their special Old Fashioned and for nearly $30, it was awful. The flavors were not well balanced and had too much bitters in it. We got the steak tartar, calamari, and wedge salad appetizers. Steak tartar was good although interesting that it was cut in chunks instead of thinly sliced. I liked the acidity and the steak was good. The calamari was something you could get at any typical spot and was average at best. The wedge salad was good. Not overly dressed which I appreciated abd the tanginess of the dressing was good. But the main course was where it really went downhill. Our waiter really recommended the Kansas City dry age steak and since I had never tried it, I got it. It was overly cooked (barely pink in the center even though I asked for medium rare) and not a ton of flavor. It was chewy and tough. Not what I expected. The sides were all again average. Their hash browns were not cooked all the way through and some bites were undercooked. The worst offender was the large lobster. It tasted like it had gone bad and parts of the lobster didn't seem like it was cooked all the way. It might have been the most disgusting lobster I've ever eaten. For what you pay for, this place is highly disappointing. In a city filled with great steakhouses, no reason you should come here even if you want red meat after/before a visit to the Staples Center.

I grew up in San Diego and dined at their location for years before it closed. It was special to me because my Dad was a character on the wall down amongst the other famous and accomplished people so I have found memories of dining there. Plus anywhere that honors my father I'm a fan. That being said tonight was my first time at the DTLA location and it was another great experience. It had been at least a decade since I've been to a Palm location but tonight's dinner makes me wonder why I waited so long. Service was a bit slow at points and it took a very long time for us to get our check picked up after it was dropped off but aside from that it was a pleasant experience. Everyone was very polite and the inside is really large and open with many different types of seating. I started off with the Lobster Bisque and really enjoyed it. It was a large sized portion and had plenty of lobster meat in the soup. For my entree I went with a steak since they're known for their cuts and chose the Center Cut Filet Mignon 12 Oz and it was absolutely delicious. I'm a steak snob and get them often so I can say this one here is definitely one of the better steaks in town. It was cooked perfectly and I already want to order it again. Overall a great meal and I would recommend to anyone for any occasion. It's very large on the inside so they can host many sized groups. I plan to be back again in the future.

We been coming to The Palm for many years. Yesterday we celebrated our 28 year wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. Our server and her assistants were on top of all our needs. The drinks we had were delicious along with the grilled octopus and calamari we had for appetizers. Our main courses were to die for. Beautiful presentation and incredibly tasty. Loved the Christmas decorations and the background music. The Palm continues to have a special place in our hearts. Keep up the amazing work. My friend and I decided to meet at the Palm for dinner because I've had good experiences at locations in other U.S. cities. The downtown Los Angeles location is a disappointment. I hope this was an "off night." For starters, the salad was semi-soggy with dressing that was almost flavorless. My steak was decent but for $69 it should've been incredible, impeccable and bursting with flavor. Not so. Desert? Ummmmmm, was okay. Table service was decent but not up to my expectation for such an expensive restaurant. I don't think I am being snobby but for what the Palm charges, service should be commensurate. Overall, not good.

Place was empty. No lobsters at all. Left without ordering. No wonder it was empty. Won't go back. Not a shock their other location closed either.

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday on Sept 25, and she really enjoyed her food as I did too. She ordered the Nova Scotia Lobster, Bone-In Ribeye medium rare, garlic mashed potatoes, sautéed spinach, and she loved all of it. As for me I had the Center-Cut Filet 8oz w/black truffle butter. My steak was so soft and tender I couldn't believe it, but back to my order. I had the garlic mashed potatoes, sautéed spinach. This was during COVID so we went to The Palm in DOWNTOWN LA, there was NO INSIDE DINING, so I can't speak on the ambiance of the place, but outside was good they had heat lamps so we weren't cold, and our waiter was charming. I'm sorry I can't remember his name because I would have gave him a better review but the night was great and looking forward to dine in next time..

This is a old school steakhouse so with that said you'll find great steaks and al la carte sides. We ordered : Shrimp cocktail - excellent. Fresh large shrimp with flavorful cocktail sauce. Bread - don't bother even wasting calories on this one. Definitely pass and thank goodness they don't charge you for it. Wedge salad- great. Crispy lettuce, well tasting blue cheese and perfectly cooked bacon. Rib eye steak with and without bone - both were cooked to our liking and had good flavor. Center cut lamb chops - first of all they were small in size, secondly they brought the plate and we cut into the meat is was raw, like RAW. We sent it back and one piece was missing. They said we ate it. We did not . Sides - Mac and Cheese. Watery and no flavor . Creamed spinach - zero flavor . Drinks- they all were classic cocktails made well. Over all, this is a ok place for a good steak and drink. That's about it. Hope Palm can get to the board and come up with new sides .

HORRIBLE - Arrived early for our 12/25 dinner, checked in, went to the bar for a drink before our table was ready. Ordered a Bombay Martini...sold out...I was given options...selected Hendricks...few minutes later...sold out...settled for Plymouth...was ok, probably more $$. 25 minutes after our reservation time, I asked what's up..."oh, you never checked in". BS, finally got a table 45 minutes after our reservation time. Here's the best...ordered a bottle of Chateauneuf de Pape ($149), brought a bottle of Chateau Pape Clement ($275)...I said no, no this is not what we asked for, staff said yes it is...finally they said they were are out of what you want, so this is the alternative...WTF! WORST $400 dining experience ever...I've been going there for Xmas (and other occasions) many times. NEVER again...The Palm has lost the concept of dining and customer experience and satisfaction.

We have a family dinner so we order bunch of food in the Palm. The following is my personal view on each of the dish: 1. The lobster is pretty good. The grilled lobster is really tender. Since it is grilled, you could taste the fresh and juicy lobster itself without another added flavors. Highly recommend 2. The Prime New York Strip: we ordered medium rare but it comes out medium. The steak was tender but some parts are dry and thick. Personally think not that worth for the price. 3. The appetizer bacon is really good and thick. It was not too salty and a good portion to share with the family. This place is around $100 per person. Overall with the price, it is little bit disappointed on the steak. But worth of try.

Where do I start. First, when we got there, we were a bit surprised, not a lot of people were there. This gave it an intimate vibe. We were brought lots of tasty breads to taste prior to our meal. The husb and I got the Shrimp Bruno as an appetizer. Tasty with the dipping sauce. We both also got, he copied me, the 8oz steak. The steak was tasty and tender. Service was great. Our waitress was great. Lamont, the host was very knowledgable about the menu. The manager came and check on us as well. Oh and dessert...let's not forget dessert! The husb and I shared our desserts. We got the creme brulee and the the palm zeppole. The palm zeppole has a bit of cheese, I can't have dairy, but I figured let's try it. Luckily it wasn't enough to bother my tummy. The are small donuts. Tasty, tasty, tasty and tasty! The husb and I will be back for sure. Parking was the only issue, so we're planning on taking the metro to downtown, yes at night. Wish us luck! :) But a must go to if you're in Downtown LA!

I've been here a number of times now. Each time it hasn't been crowded so there was no delay in service. The steaks were decent and I enjoyed eating here. Yes, the steaks could be better considering the price range but it was good enough for me.

1. Cleanness & Parking- LA parking, i'll leave it at that 2. Contactless payment- they asked for a card didn't offer apple pay 3. Reservations/Appointment - they take reservations via open table but on sunday it was so slow it's a give and take depends 4. Customer Service/Assistance - all employees have been nice our waiters think Jose/Juan and Chico both were super friendly 5. Food - oh so good, love me a steakhouse in my reviews each star is given when they meet all my top necessities overall, definitely would return great quality food and very local to the staples center (now called crypto) it was a very calm atmosphere

Came here because this was one of the few places open on Christmas that also takes reservations. A little disappointed in the service, our server was great, but the hostess and some other guy that came to our table asked to take pictures of our food. Other than that, food was average. Nothing was really finger licking good. We got the seafood platter as an appetizer for the table and it was just your average... It wasn't too loud inside, but it also wasn't packed. I can see how it could be loud here just because of the size There are uncovered parking lots near by and you pay via an app
