Shuckers Closing Is Closing For New Luxury Development - Eater Miami

"In place of Shuckers, DJ Kygo’s hospitality group will open Palm Tree Club, featuring a luxury hotel, an upscale restaurant, a marina with 20 boat slips, and a pool. This development is part of Miami's ongoing transformation, focusing on pricey developments catering to tourists and the one percent." - Olee Fowler

The Palm Miami - Review - Bal Harbour - Miami - The Infatuation

"The Palm is an old school American steakhouse, a genre of restaurant Miami severely lacks. This place is a national chain and has locations scattered around the country. But the Miami restaurant (located in Bay Harbor Islands) feels local, partially because of the caricatures of regulars that decorate the wall. The space is dim, they have a bar perfect for eating alone or with a date, and there are dressed-up servers darting around the dining room. The food is solid and mostly steakhouse classics. Order a big lobster, a steak, something with whiskey in it, and you can spend the night pretending you're an advertising executive in the '50s." - Ryan Pfeffer

We had a wonderful dinner experience! The food was absolutely delicious and prepared to perfection, making every bite enjoyable. The service was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the evening. We were truly thrilled with our visit and left feeling completely satisfied. We’re already looking forward to coming back again soon!

Google
Wonderful Palm, we dinned at the bar - outstanding service, cocktails, conversation and food. This is a classic palm dating back into the 1980’s and still shines as one of the best places for lobster, and ribeye steaks. A top choice for Miami

Since 1923, this superb steakhouse offers outstanding aged beef cuts and seafood for the most demanding clientele. Perfectly grilled along with a wide range of delicious sides. Worth mentioning is the Lobster bisque. Service is extremely professional and the ambiance is sober and sophisticated. Highly recommended!

Bae ordered a filet mignon through Uber Eats, but unfortunately it was a bit overcooked and tougher than expected. He ended up tossing about half of it, which was a little disappointing. Hopefully, it’s better when enjoyed fresh in the restaurant.

Had one of the best steaks I’ve ever tasted! The service is excellent and everything I had was simply life-changing. I highly recommend this place for dinner and shoutout to the bartender Will who will go out of his way to make you the best drinks ever!

Had an amazing time at The Palm in Bay Harbor, this spot always hits the mark when it comes to food, service, and overall atmosphere. The ambiance is classy but relaxed, making it perfect for everything from date night to casual catch-ups. Our server, Gracie, was phenomenal. She was warm, attentive, and made us feel like VIPs the entire evening. Every recommendation she gave was on point, and her energy just made the whole experience even better. Also have to shout out Maria at the bar! Her cocktails were next level. You can tell she really takes pride in her craft, and it shows. Every drink was perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in the area. Looking forward to coming back!

The service was excellent! Food was also wonderful. We arrived early on a Monday, so the restaurant was slow, but that made for EXCELLENT service.

Had a great Thanksgiving dinner at the Palm. Great vibe, and the food was top-notch - classic holiday flavors with a twist. Service was friendly and on point. Really good experience for a nice solid holiday meal!

Yelp
***miami spice menu*** Visited The Palm during Miami Spice month for their $60 menu which included an app, main, side, and dessert. I started with the shrimp cocktail (portion for this menu was 2). They were large and perfect. My main and side included an 8 oz filet which I order medium rare. Cooked to perfection. my side was a creamy savory creamed spinach. I ended with zeppole with 3 sauces. Nice and fluffy. Drinks were not included but I had a Pinot and finished with an espresso martini. Zito was the bartender and even though he was extremely busy he was very friendly and attentive. Hours are limited so this is not a late night steakhouse. It's more intimate with The Palm old school vibe.

Yelp
Pete and Mike ensured we had a table as a walk on a Saturday night. Servers were attentive made sure the table was organized with the proper cutlery and beverages refilled. We tried the seafood tower ribeye bone in decadent potatoes gratin mushrooms and two desserts. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal customer service and the ambiance. The palms is a consistent perfectly cooked steak house which should not disappoint your dining experience.

Yelp
Not good. We are long time Palm diners. We particularly like the Gigi salad. We ordered through Uber. It seems the chef forgot to put in half the ingredients. No bacon, almost no onion. Salad pretty plain and half the usual size. One of our favorite restaurants no longer very good.

Yelp
Always a pleasure to go to The Palm! This time my son got the tomahawk steak with creamed spinach and hash browns. I got the Gigi salad and had a bite of the steak and side dishes. I love going to The Palm because the quality is fantastic and consistent.

Yelp
Alas one of my favorite Miami Steakhouses has hit rock bottom. Still great people at the front, Bobby at the bar tremendous service, but times have changed. 10% occupancy on a Thursday night for a meeting with an old friend. Quick drinks at the bar before we hit the table. Don't know what to say but the place has become tired and old. Bread on the table was simply terrible, gone are the great onion rolls and crisp french bread. Prices have gone through the roof and FOOD well we will get to that. Ordering the "OLD WEDGE" which is simply lettuce a tomato. and their homemade blue cheese dressing. Dressing still fantastic but how can the lettuce and tomato be warm? Totally unacceptable. $69.00 for a NY Strip which used to be "CHARRED TO PERFECTION" is now salted and flash grilled leaving a superior piece of meat inedible. The side of mushrooms and onions were the most tasteless mess of whatever in many years. The $69.00 Veal Chop Parm was OK but the sauce was tasteless to nonexistent. Didn't even bother with coffee or deserts. As I walked out saying goodbye to Bobby at the bar, I knew this was my last time here, if they even survive much longer. So disappointed.

Yelp
The Palm - a stalwart in my life of eating - was my Father's favorite restaurant so we went to honor him on his Birthday yesterday. I was a little hesitant because of the sale to Landry's in 2020. Also, had never been to the one in North Miami so we gave it a whirl. Four to our party. Rez made and arrived to super friendly valet parking and greeted by the manager, Eric. Super accommodating with our preference of seating and sat us immediately (it's a smaller Palm than I'm used to and I loved the ambiance & coziness). Mariaj was our main host and shared the specials and her favorites on the menu. Menu has changed with a nice collection of Palm faves, more salads, seafood towers, the usual huge lobster (4lbs avail that night) plus interesting cuts like the Tomahawk, bone in filet and Lamb chops (which were amazing and pictured below). We started with the Calamari app and shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were the size of my palm (hahaha). Calamari was tasty and cooked to perfection lightly dusted with flour with added cherry peppers and grilled lemon. Their wonderful breadbasket has assorted bread sticks, pumpernickel raisin and Italian breads. Katerina was one of Mariah's helpers and she made sure that we had anything we wanted and did it with such a nice smile and way about her. Let's talk main course: My Mother had the 4lb lobster broiled with EVOO and garlic and it was sweet and tender. Beautiful presentation. Mom likes to crack her own although bussers are available to crack at table side! Husband went for the NY Strip with a side of those amazing mushrooms. Honestly, they were so good I was eating them as a side! Strip was cooked to perfection as mid-rare and he was very happy with the beef quality. Daughter (age 20) decided on the Rib eye and she said it was so tender and cooked correct to temp. Her side was a lobster risotto and well there was none left so there is that!! Like I mentioned earlier I had the lamb that is sourced from Colorado and I felt like I was in Breckinridge that's how high the quality of the meat was. My side of asparagus was done aglio y olio and grilled just the way I like it - firm and flavorful! We decided on key lime pie and chocolate cake for dessert. My mom stated she liked this key lime pie BETTER than Joe's I was shocked! Daughter said one of the best chocolate layer cake she had had in a long time! The place started to hop as it got to 7 although it felt like we were eating at a family restaurant because of all the friendly staff and patrons! There is a bar to sit at as well as private dining options. Had the opportunity to meet the GM Peter and he was super down to earth and seemed genuinely interested on my feedback and his employees. 4 of us and the bill was about $800. We were feeling self indulgent yesterday! The food was spectacular - they take Rez on Open Table. 9650 E. Yelp
Went to The Palm last night for dinner last night. My first time in Miami and I was craving steak. It was AMAZING!!!!!! The best steak I EVER HAD!!!!! The creamed spinach and mashed potatoes were really good too!!! I would definitely come back here. Service was excellent too! Everyone was really nice and super attentive. If you're looking for a fancy, casual restaurant with amazing steak definitely come here!!!! You will NOT be DISAPPOINTED!!!!!

Yelp
My family and I eat here to celebrate every occasion. Ate here last weekend. 20 minutes nobody took our drink order. Had to flag someone down. After that, another 15 minutes until we were asked to order. Had a 830 reservation didn't leave til 11:30. Ridiculous. Never got more water / asked for Parmesan cheese never received it for 20 min of constant asking. For dessert, she came over at 11 and asked if we wanted the tiramisu or zeppoles. I picked zeppoles and was told they will be another 20 minutes, so at that point just opted out of dessert. Ridiculous many other steakhouses around for a better experience. No point in dining at a landrys chain

Yelp
For 15,000 Palm points (803 club ??? ) you too can occupy the classic cartoonish depictions (which originated in NYC) of local celebs is but one quirky aspect of The Palm's Bay Harbor steakhouse. Old school steak house w the wedge & the famous 4 lb lobster, what can I add that is more in line w the operation. Depending on your habits, this steakhouse can really seem family-owned & operated. It is run that efficiently. Birthdays, celebrations, the special meal you crave is what The Palm has maintained for over 25 years. And, it really shines. Bay Harbor has been home to The Palm since 1983, the 3rd ??? restaurant in the franchise ...

Yelp
This restaurant is good and delivers! It is very well located near bal harbour... valet parking is a must.. This place is nice and today missed some ambiance.... Being a Thursday, thought it was going to be packed and it was not.. food was on the good side but nothing to write home about. Salads were average, the tomatoes with mozzarella were ok, the cesar salad was a not h below average and the chopped salad was , well, awful! I had the veal chop that was good hence my 4/5! Also contributing was service... we had Maria and she was impeccable!! Thanks Maria!! The mashed potatoes I had to return as they had an acid aftertaste and was substituted with an "au gratin" that was good and for the short time needed some "gratin", but again Maria delivered! The Brussels sprouts were on the good side!! Bread, well, they can improve this too.... Corkage was on the good side even though I would have expected better glassware... All in all this place is good, but sorry not the greatness that used to characterize it!! Cheers

Yelp
The service was terrible. Twice. I've been to many different locations of this restaurant. The food was fine but the bartender and host were far more than lack luster.I was staying at a hotel across the street with no restaurant and will never visit that palm again.

Yelp
So, have you ever been faced with arrogant, misogynistic management in a restaurant? Well, if you have not, head to the Palm. We all know it is overpriced. We all know it is not what it used to be. We all know we can have a better steak dinner at a variety of restaurants in Miami. We all know how petty charges can push you over the edge. Well, Christmas eve dinner at the Palm most certainly was all that and more. 6 people. Cocktails. Steaks. Sides. More than 125 per person. When questioning the charge for a small half filled ramekin with additional chimichurri sauce for the flavorless steaks, which totaled $8. we were referrred to the menu for this hidden charge. Management would NOT extend a courtesy and remove this from our check. Despite repeated attempts to discuss the failure to disclose by waitstaff when ordered. So, The Palm, I hope that $8 makes your yearly numbers soar. Our table will not be back, over this most petty amount. I do hope others heed this warning and eat elsewhere.

Yelp
This is an expensive steakhouse, and I really wouldn't recommend coming here unless you really want a nice expensive steak (or great dessert). We came here for dinner with a small group, and we were able to get a reservation easily, which was very nice. Once at the table though, you were watched like a hawk, and several staff were always hovering a foot or two away from our table. Some people like that level of attentiveness, but we found it somewhat off-putting that you couldn't even look around at the decor without someone asking you what you wanted or being escorted to the restroom. The food was decent, but very expensive - a small sea bass filet was about $50. We ordered salads to start - I should've gotten the wedge, as the Caesar was very nondescript and the croutons were too big to eat. The fish was very delicious, but had a small portion, and they wouldn't substitute out the vegetables. Also, we ordered French fries for the table, but our waiters took them away before we were finished, even though we were still actively eating them. We had to hold onto our dessert plates once we got them to keep them from taking them away early! The dessert was the best part of the meal - the cheesecake and the key lime pie were both fabulous. And as mentioned, one person got a steak, which was perfectly cooked. They also seemed to have quite a bit of trouble splitting the bill - we wanted two checks, but it took a lot of back and forth to get it split. Overall, the food isn't bad, but it's more expensive than it's worth, and be sure to hang onto your plate if you're still eating!

Yelp
This place is absolutely incredible. I am normally not much of a steakhouse person but I was invited to this restaurant and I absolutely loved it. I went on a Friday night. We had reservations for 8 pm. When we walked in the restaurant was dimly light and you can tell that it has a family feel because of all the decorations on the wall. There are family photos as well as little cartoons on the wall. When we got there we were seated right away. The waiter recommended that we try the chips instead of the bread and we agreed right away. It was amazing because we ate the chips with the creamed spinach and it was so good. We also ordered the calamari as an appetizer both were delicious. We also shared the lobster bisque and the wedge. The bisque was amazing. It was served table side. At the bottom of the dish it had the fresh shredded lobster. They are not stingy with it either I had a bite of lobster on every single sip. Then we went for the main course. I ordered the chicken parmesan. It was amazing. I absolutely loved it. The presentation was awesome with fresh melted cheese on top, it had the perfect amount of sauce on it so that every single bite had sauce. The chicken was breaded perfectly and it was served nice and warm. I also had a taste of the filet, it was cooked to perfection and the sauces that it came with were amazing. For dessert we had the donut holes. They came with a raspberry sauce that gave it a sweet yet savory touch. I was full for almost two days after this meal, as you can tell we ate a lot but I would come back. The service was incredible and so was the food.

Yelp
It's hard to give a 1 Star review after being a loyal customer of Palm restaurants across the country for decades, but that is what the last visit to this restaurant represented. Here's the deal: 1. Baked clams were totally dried out and burnt on the top due to being left in the broiler too long. Clams did not taste right and were kind of funky. This is one of my favorite Palm dishes so I was sad to send them back. Then, on the check they show a note that said something like "customer did not like the taste". How classless and annoying to print that on the bill. I have eaten these for years at various locations and even make them better myself at home using the Palm cookbook. It should have said "the kitchen had no clue how to prepare and cook this dish correctly." Better yet, should have had class and just taken it completely off the bill. 2. Chicken Parmesan could have been great, but the chef turned it into charcoal leaving it in the broiler too long badly burning parts of the top. It was quite outrageous to serve a second burnt dish after I just sent back a previous burnt dish. I just gave up and ate around the burnt parts. 3. Some wait staff are not well trained. I asked if they still served bread before the meal and they said no. Then I got a basket of bread but missing the typical Palm bread sticks package other tables did get. Some of the servers seem oblivious to the Palm heritage and traditions and could just as easily be working in a Denny's, with their disposition. Again, I just gave up. 4. They do not serve the traditional pickled vegetables that I have been used to at Palm restaurants. They didn't even know what I was talking about when I asked about it. 5. Restrooms are very small which is understandable because the building seems old, but it is also not air conditioned and uncomfortably hot in the restroom. I wouldn't care about this if the rest of the food and service was on point, but unfortunately it wasn't close. The salad, water refill, and a really nice guy managing/working the bar, and the convenient Miami Beach location were the only highlights. I was carrying in and out a big bag I had to tend to, and the valet parking attendant didn't even try to help me navigate the stairs with it or help me get it in and out of the car. The Palm is a historical brand and amazing tradition for this country. It is really sad to see this restaurant dressing up to look the part, and sadly failing to deliver on so many levels. I hope someone with the passion and ability to improve this restaurant reads this, so they can somehow rise from the ashes they currently find themselves in, because inattentive staff in the kitchen thinks they have to incinerate what they put under the brolier. If it was even at average Palm standards,I would have already returned 2 or 3 times since this last meal. Now I have a bad taste in my mouth so to say and need a long break. They lost easy revenue.

Daniel L.

Yelp
Let's see where to start.. glasses at the table were dirty the server did not give that service you would expect at this caliber of a restaurant. I was bumped into by countless customers and staff due to the area they sat us in. When I ordered my food I wanted to pair it with a lobster but was told there was no lobster available. This should have been expressed when the server went over the specials for the night also there was lobster to make the lobster ravioli and as well for the seafood towers, but none for a Saturday night. The steak we ordered one was over cooked from the temp that was asked for, the other was under cooked and cold in the center. At the end of the day I'm hoping this was not The Palms Miami best day, but for me I will not revisit I'll rather head to Orlando and eat at The Palms in the hard rock hotel in which I had countless great experiences.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with some friends and noted our lovely dinner. Social distancing while dining indoor which was great. The food was simple and amazing. Check out my pics. Hopefully will come back here again in the next few months. Came here to watch the game too Heat vs Lakers as they have TV by the bar. Our server was great!! Trust!

Yelp
The Palm has a great steakhouse atmosphere supported with a mostly attentive waitstaff. We enjoyed the wine list and selection which had a range of great bottles with a more modest markup. From there the main steak courses were fair - I had the bone in filet which was an above average steak. The stars of the meal were the sides - truffle gnocchi and hash brown. If you are in need of reservations it isn't a bad stop but in a town like Miami you can find something more exciting.

Yelp
Delish and hard dried steak very noisy cannot talk. The ambiance is great... very New York feeling...

Yelp
I love The Palm but I am taking one star based on how expensive it's become to eat here. 4 lb lobster $138 !! Their jumbo shrimp cocktail at $24 but was delicious. I ordered a Bailey's coffee and to my surprise was $20 !! Previously we had purchased The Palm rewards card but since the restaurant was sold the new owners did not honor the card itself and they asked for an additional fee of $25 which we declined.

Jack U.

Yelp
I went there for Nova Scotia Lobster as I had a real yen for live lobster. I ordered a 4 pounder, but I was very disappointed in both the quality of the lobster and the way it was cooked. The smaller sections of the claws were fairly tender, but the main body meat was very "chewy", and I just left most of it...although I should have brought it home for my outdoor cat "Callahan". The actual claws were very large, but mainly a fatty substance that did not have the consistency of the meat in the smaller claw sections. My side of hash browns were great, and my Oysters Rockefeller were just okay...nothing special. Perhaps I would have been better off ordering a steak, as my accompanying restaurant guest had ordered a Filet Mignon, which he described as being very good center cut. My past visits were always meeting up to my expectations. Perhaps my next visit will be more pleasing.

Denise H.

Yelp
I forgot how good this place was. I had a delicious margarita, shrimp cocktail and the best steak in years. The filet was Perfectly cook, the creamed spinach was seasoned to perfection. My friends NY strip was perfect temperature. I stopped ordering NY strip many years ago and always order fillet to be on the save side. Congratulations Chef!!! Beautiful NY Cheesecake with salted Caramel. It is a hidden gem. It is one of my favorite traditions in Miami.

Yelp
I've been to some of the palm's around the US, this one takes the cake! Quaint, super cool location. Service is top notch here, excellent food! Def look forward to heading here again next time I'm in Bal Harbour.

Yelp
I am amending my one star review as someone apparently paid heed to my rant and removed the happy hour menu from the website for this location, so at least others won't be disappointed as I . Perhaps I will try again someday.

Yelp
Enjoyed a lovely, memorable dinner with a large group taken care of by the attentive and friendly Palm Miami team: Michael, Ashley, Bridget and Grant. Great food and excellent service. Steak, lobster, sides and dessert were delicious. Highly recommend for any occasion!

Yelp
We went to the Palm in Miami and they had an off night. Wedge salad was not the typical wedge so no quality control coming out of the kitchen. The lobster bisque was served lukewarm. The 4 lb lobster came out of the kitchen and we not cooked on one side and dried out on the other. The roe on one side was black and not cooked. In addition, one of the drinks we ordered from the bar was not mixed properly. Service was good but not special. I'm not running back here even though I am a loyal customer of the Palm in NYC.

Yelp
The seafood here is totally different the flavors are very good. And the workers are very sweet! my favorite place to eat.

Yelp
The food, service and atmosphere is always on point good solid place for good steak, etc ... Offers free valet only have to tip the guys everyone's really friendly after a couple times they get to know you by face. Definitely a little hidden treasure in Miami without getting a pretentious vibe. Two thumbs up!

Yelp
Old skool atmosphere, service and great food. Outside valet was lined up with super lux cars so expect this place to be expensive. There's also plenty of metered parking by the main road. Host knew all the regulars, young and mature, by their name. We came on a Wednesday night and the place was pretty busy. First we shared the Louis "Gigi" Delmaestro Salad (shrimp, green beans, tomato, onion, bacon, iceberg lettuce, roasted pepper, egg and avocado tossed in a garlic vinaigrette). Always consistent, chunks of shrimp and dressing was just enough. We both had the Filet...medium rare for my friend and mine was medium. Wish I had ordered the medium rare cause mine was a little tough but they were really fine cuts of meat. We had creamed spinach and half / half (cottage fries / fried onions) on the side. Yes, we splurged, we devoured all...true carnivores :) Our drink of choice were dirty martinis. Steakhouses tend to make dirty martinis the right way and this place was just that. Perfectly balanced, grey goose vodka, vermouth, little sour from olives but not overpowering and most important...served on a chilled real martini glass. Our server happened to know my friend for years. He was very knowledgeable and polite. Also noticed patrons walking in kept asking for him to wait on them. Furnishings were traditional steak house style. Dim lighting all around. As you walk in, a busy bar to the left will entice you to get a drink first before sitting on your assigned table. It is on the pricey side but well worth it. Good for a celebratory dinnerWill keep coming back for more.

Yelp
The last time I was here the staff was so welcoming for dogs and were more than happy to give him water and pet him. THIS TIME they wouldn't let me sit outside and the second I walked in the door the guy at the front "manager" told me we won't have an issue if he's on the ground. Which I respected. THEN i started to give him water out of my glass and he started telling me how they don't support "service or emotional support dogs". He then went on to tell me how he wouldn't give him a water bowl. So so so disappointed by this service because I love the one in Nashville.

Yelp
This was by far the worse meal ever , crab cakes were soggy , Caesar salad was the overdressed , the swordfish was undercooked and rare The worse restaurant in north Miami, maybe in Florida

Yelp
Last night we celebrated my girlfriend's birthday. She had the Chilean Sea Bass and I had the 9oz filet. Both superb. Bake Clams Casino appetizer is one of my favorites. Michael and staff made the evening special with a big happy birthday at the end. I highly recommend this place. Will be back soon!!

Yelp
Two vegans walk into The Palm and walk out completely delighted! We booked a 75 birthday celebration there at the request of the guest of honor. We had 2 elementary age boys and 6 adults including my husband and I who have chosen a plant-based lifestyle for our health. I chose Palm from a couple of options because they actually have a children's menu and seemed more likely to accommodate all palates. The Palms isn't much from the outside and you'll likely pass it. The inside is not typical SoFL. It has dark wood, dim lighting and more of a Northeastern vibe. It was quaint. The disappointment was only due to the table not being fully set and they had to shim the extension leaf. This is and the screaming child behind us is why I didn't give it 5 stars. Robert was our server and he and his assistant were AMAZING! He did not rush us, offered ideas when we said we are vegan and spoke to the chef twice about choices because one idea had sauce made from veal bones. That kind of care is appreciated and respected. The appetizers were a mix of salads, clams oregano, ahi tuna and crab cake. All were reported as delicious. The main entrees of kid's filet and chicken with green beans were well prepared and plentiful. The grass-fed filet and chilean sea bass were also big hits. For us vegans, we had a linguine with garlic and olive oil with broccoli and Brussel sprouts, split dish which as any good restaurant, was done in the kitchen. Next time I would go with asparagus over sprouts. We ordered 2 three cheese potatoes as a side for the table. Some of the party had salads and an appetizer for dinner and reported it was plenty. We finished with their famed carrot cake for dessert. The guest of honor's favorite cake! Even we broke our vegan to taste a bite and it was worth it. I'm writing all the details because I read recent reviews that were not positive and sited unpleasant or rude staff. This couldn't be farther from our experience. Robert even handled the changes to sing or don't sing and cake choice with a smile. He brought the cake with a lit candle and wished a happy and healthy birthday. No song, in case you're wondering. If you're looking for a good steak and seafood mixed with some Italian in a quaint atmosphere, this might be your place.

Yelp
The Palm has always been a favorite across the country. This location does not rise to its usual standards. The food was bland and very expensive. There are many other better options in the vicinity.

Yelp
The meatball appetizer was good as well as the wine selection which is why I give 2 stars. The sea bass was WAY too salty. Au gratin potatoes were cubes and not potatoes slices. So bad I sent them back. Tried to order a steak but they messed it up so decided it was better to not waste money on anymore bad food. Lots of good restaurants in the area. I would pass. Also just got my bill and $10 for aquapana water? What a joke! I wasn't even asked if that's what I wanted. Moving to 1 star. Will be ordering room service at the hotel

Yelp
THIS is the place. Food, drinks and service are the best of the best. It's the finest old school restaurant we have been to in years.

Yelp
Mashed Potatoes were good , filet mignon wasn't that great . We would ask the server a question and based on his answer we wanted to ask another question or order and he would walk off after giving us the first answer which was pretty annoying . The chocolate cake was amazing!! But cold. Could have been served with something warmer to make it more pleasant but it was still very good. My husband said his seafood was good but the sauce was a bit overwhelming . I'm giving it three stars because the mashed potatoes and cake was amazing and the restaurant is cute but I didn't like the servers behavior nor did I like the main dish. I'd say it's probably 3.5 stars Definitely want more of that chocolate cake ! Not worth the price for main dishes though.

Yelp
As a Miami Native, this used to be my favorite Place for Steak and lobster. We would go to The Palm for every special occasion. However, I regret to say that this place has really gone downhill. The lobster is hit or miss as they tend to over cook or undercook it. However, the customer service, or lack thereof, has really prompted me to write a review. I must say that the past 2 times we tried this place, we were treated very poorly to say the least. On Mother's Day, we called early in the day (1pm) to inquire about a take-out for that evening. They promptly answered the phone and put my on hold where I waited for 35 minutes before I hung up. When I called back, they couldn't care less - no apologies. Their utter rudeness turned me off for about a month until last night when we ordered takeout again. We ordered the 5 lb lobster special. This time they took my order and told me 40 minutes. When I arrived to pick up the food, there was nobody at the front. I was dressed in shorts so I was a little uncomfortable walking inside to find someone to tell I was there to pickup my order. It was 8:00 and there were about 4 tables of diners - it was very quiet and not busy at all. After about 10 minutes of waiting to be greeted, a gentlemen asked me what I ordered and I proceeded to give him the entire order again and waited another half hour standing at the door like a chump. No offer for a glass of water, no social graces. Nobody else was waiting. I couldn't believe I let myself get tortured by this place again. When they finally brought my order out, their response was surreal. No simple apology, no offer for a slice of pie, nothing. Not even a simple thank you for coming. I told the gentleman very calmly that I understand that we are living in a challenging time and nobody wants to hear a complaint, but it would have been nice to give a more accurate pickup time. I explained that I gladly would've arrived in 2 hours, if that was the wait time. However, It's not nice to tell me to come in 40 minutes and then make me wait an additional 40 minutes when the place was not busy at all. It must take a real effort to show absolutely no empathy for the customer. It would've been understandable if I was making a scene, raising my voice cuz nobody likes an irate customer, but I was pretty chill and calmly told him that it wasn't nice. When we got home, the food was subpar. The Caesar salad looked like the last one I got a pollo tropical take out (see pic) with processed Parmesan cheese and boxed croutons. What happened to the beautiful freshly grated Parmesan? After all, isn't this The Palm? The creamed spinach was pretty good. The lobster was was mushy. No bread provided. Very disappointed. Will not go back for a long long time after current management turns over.

Yelp
After a fun day of shopping i was hungry and gladly stumbled into the palms. I had no idea that they were affiliated with Houston's so when i did i was super stoked. I'm a huge fan of houstons/hillstone so I knew the food would be great. The bartender Monique gave us great service, she was attentive awesome and very friendly. The food was exceptional and just really delicious. Ordered the jumbo shrimp cocktail (best I've ever had), crab cakes (delicious) and my all time favorite NY strip with watercress salad. Simply amazing!!

Yelp
I was so excited to return to the Palms Steakhouse I was thinking about all those traditional delicious Miami breads that they give you breadsticks and pumpernickel what a great way to start a meal so I sat down and the first thing I got was some par bake Roll so I said to my server where is the bread the new owners took it away who are the new owners Landry that's what destroyed Morton's I haven't been there since they took that over and destroyed that and now I'm done with that the whole meal was changed the product has been changed I don't know is it going to a one step above outback good luck guys it's a sad day for steak lovers

Yelp
Well , if you like not just a good meat or lobster but also a good Italian dishes you need to go to the Palm. It is the old school steak house, the real good days. Michael and Peter running this place like a Swiss watch. Thank you you for a wonderful dinner. Grazie

Yelp
When the manager gives your daughter a free chocolate cake with your to-go order and it was the best chocolate cake you've ever had.... not sure if I'm thankful or cursing him because We now have a favorite new dessert - which I likely would never have ordered! Easy 5 stars for excellent service and even better cake! Can't stress enough how good this cake is!

Yelp
Last time I ate here I ordered crab cakes and they were made of all large pieces of lump crab meat and even though it was $40 for 2 crab cakes they were excellent and I was happy to pay for the quality. This time it was mostly shredded crab and it still tasted good but not as good as the all lump crab. Last time the creamed spinach was rich and thick with heavy cream, slight nutmeg flavor and you could taste the Parmigiano Reggiano and was addictive. This time it was not as thick and rich and bit runny. I did not taste nutmeg or Reggiano and it was ok but not exceptional like last time. I also ordered Brussel sprouts and they were well charred, cooked all the way through, seasoned well and generally very good. I was in the business so I know it is very difficult to keep quality consistent and there is a big difference between good and excellent. If this is just an off night for the items I ordered I understand. I just hope it was not because someone in corporate decided to trim some fat and downgraded the ingredients. If 3 1/2 stars was an option that is what I would have chosen.
