"The latest, charmingly run opening from experienced restaurateur Jeremy King bears all the hallmarks of his most famous establishments: it’s big; it’s buzzy; it’s got an extensive, eminently appealing menu; and it’s just the right amount of plush, being simultaneously elegant and understated. The cooking looks to Italy and America for inspiration, delivering everything from a lobster roll to chicken Milanese. ‘The Park Monkey Bread’ tear-and-share would be a fine way to begin, as would a cocktail in the bar." - Michelin Inspector

The Park - Review - Queensway - London - The Infatuation

"The main reason to visit The Park, a high-end Queensway spot, is for the dessert menu, which sounds like it was created by a focus group of toddlers and adults with severe sugar-fixations. Build-your-own sundaes, with Oreo chunks, mini meringues, and hot fudge sauce, make it feel like a childhood birthday party. But the same focus group that came up with a caramelised banana split must have had a sugar crash when it came to the rest of the menu. The American dishes are hit and miss, and don’t bring us the same joy as the hundreds and thousands-happy desserts. photo credit: David Loftus photo credit: David Loftus photo credit: David Loftus photo credit: David Loftus Pause Unmute The dining room itself is more private members’ restaurant at The Met than a Ronald McDonald birthday party. Huge artworks of the ‘what do you see in the splodges?’ variety are hung from wood-panelled walls, and groups and couples are tucked into handsome butterscotch booths. Is it gorgeous? Yes. Is it having an identity crisis? Also yes. But we’d still come for a special occasion when someone else is paying and we want a cloud of pink candy floss delivered by a waistcoat-wearing member of staff. Food Rundown Summer Minestrone Unfortunately, this was not very summery. In fact it took us to a dark place—one without seasoning or much flavour. photo credit: Sinéad Cranna Burrata And Heritage Tomato Panzanella This dish took the summer brief that the minestrone missed, and ran with it. The focaccia soaks up the oil and vinegar juice from the capers, and the burrata is suitably creamy. It's a nice, light salad and you'll feel very elegant picking at it. photo credit: David Loftus Grilled 'Four Cheese' Sandwich A Fantastic Four rebrand is surely just around the corner, because this grilled sandwich has the perfect combination of cheeses. There's a sweet nuttiness from pecorino and parmesan, creaminess from the ricotta, and the all-important gooey, cheese pull moment courtesy of fontina. A perfect toastie. photo credit: Sinéad Cranna Classic Hot Dog A classic hot dog and not much more. There's nothing wrong with it, but you'll have to decide if you want to pay £12 for something that you're used to eating from your neighbour’s Tesco barbecue setup. photo credit: David Loftus Chicken Milanese If you aren't sure what to get at The Park, get this. It might not have the bells and whistles of The Park's Gotham Shrimp Cocktail or Lobster Roll, but it's consistently good. The coating is golden brown and the meat is juicy, and it's the right size to set you up for dessert. photo credit: Sinéad Cranna Red Velvet Cake Some meals start on a high and taper off. Not at The Park. This cake has alternating layers of sweet, tangy cream and soft, pillowy sponge. Expect to be transported back to your fifth birthday. Expect to find the two-minute walk to the station challenging. photo credit: David Loftus The Park Bespoke Sundae Usually when we need to make so many decisions, things don't go so well. But you can't mess this up. Make your order via a tick-box piece of paper. Choose ice cream flavours (we like the amedei chocolate and pistachio), toppings (Oreo chunks and honeycomb all the way), and sauces—it's got to be hot fudge. It's very fun and very delicious. photo credit: Sinéad Cranna" - Sinéad Cranna

The Hit List: New London Restaurants To Try Right Now

"The Park’s dessert menu sounds like it was created by a focus group of toddlers and adults with severe sugar-fixations—chocolate mud pie, build-your-own sundaes, warm cookies, and a caramelised banana split that comes with hundreds and thousands, by the hundreds and thousands. If that doesn’t spark joy, the larger plates at this American-Italian Queensway spot will. Adults in suits and sparkly pashminas abandon cutlery and squirt French’s mustard on hot dogs, cheeseburgers fly out of the kitchen, and salads are roundly ignored. Not everything is perfect—like an under-seasoned summer minestrone—but the dishes that do work are comforting, carb hugs. " - jake missing, rianne shlebak, daisy meager, sinead cranna, heidi lauth beasley

London’s New Restaurant Openings

"Not content with opening Arlington earlier this year, Jeremy King is now bringing The Park to Bayswater. It’s making a case for one of the best-looking new restaurants with a fancy cruise-meets-grand cafe aesthetic. The American-Italian all-day dining spot has a menu that sounds incredibly satisfying: New England clam chowder, lobster rolls, crab and bottarga linguine, and chocolate mud pie. We checked out The Park and added it to the Hit List. " - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

For a restaurant that is adorned by more shiny wood than any I've ever encountered, The Park is a wonderfully unflashy affair that just does what it does brilliantly. And you're guaranteed to have a great meal as a result. The decor is agonisingly opulent - a curious blend between past and present. It has the effect of making you feel like you've come to a "special occasion" restaurant and yet simultaneously feel completely at ease. An impressive feat. The menu is packed with comforting nostalgia. To start we enjoyed Steak Tartare and Shrimp Cocktail on ice. For main, a decidedly retro Cobb Salad and deeply satisfying Chicken Milanese accompanied by fries, tater tots and succotash. And for dessert, a slice of "dinner style" apple pie and a build your own sundae. Much is being made of the "high low" trend in London right now, but Jeremy King's restaurants mastered it decades ago. The Park is just the latest example. As we stumbled out after a couple too many watermelon negronis, we genuinely felt like we'd had a soul warming experience. That's what restaurants are supposed to be, after all...

The food, atmosphere, and service were incredible. We went for the Thanksgiving menu and it was perfect. Like a (massive) taste of home. The portions are generous. The menu is all hits and the attentiveness of the staff adds an extra something special to the experience. Looking forward to going back again soon!

I rarely leave bad reviews, but my experience at this restaurant in Queensway was unbelievably disappointing. From the moment we sat down, the staff’s attitude was incredibly rude. It took over an hour just to receive menus and bread, which is already unacceptable, but things only got worse from there. While one of our friends was showing us a short video at a reasonable volume, a staff member came over and asked them to turn it down in the most disrespectful way imaginable. No courtesy, no professionalism, just pure attitude. Our order was also mixed up, and one of our drinks was delivered to the wrong table. Instead of apologizing or correcting the mistake politely, the staff continued to give us dirty looks throughout the entire meal. The constant rudeness honestly made the whole dinner uncomfortable. It’s a shame, because the place is well-designed and benefits from a great location, so it’ll probably stay busy no matter what. But if you’re reading this, I strongly suggest you save your time and money. This restaurant is tremendously mediocre with outrageously bad service, and there are plenty of better options in the area.

Truly one of the finest breakfasts I’ve had in London! The food is full of amazing flavors, and the service is excellent. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was so kind and even offered me a coffee cake! Will definitely keep coming back — highly recommended!

LOVED the atmosphere. The design and how huge it is and everything else! Honestly we got the brunch and it wasn't as good. The potato was too hard and the pancakes dry.. the ice cream sundae was delicious in this sunny weather. but i will definitely be coming again for lunch or dinner! The atmosphere it self makes u wanna come again! The staff were friendly and professional.

It’s always a peerless experience. The professionality of the staff, the quality of the food and the design are all flawless. It reminds me of a world that’s now exists in a few unique pockets. An experience that will lighten your heart and and just make you feel good. Well done. These guys knocked it out of The Park.

This is absolutely the best breakfast I ever had in London. The service is the best and friendly. And the atmosphere with park view is so pleasant to start the day. Last but not the least, it is not standard breakfast offered from local cafe; it is gourmet quality! My wife confirmed to me that it is money well spent.

Currently one of my favourite places in London for breakfast after walking the dogs in Kensington Gardens. Great service and dog friendly. The good food and I’d highly recommend the pancakes with fresh berries. Be warned on portion sizing, they are big, generous and worth every bite. For those who’s looking for a quiet morning spot during the week to sip on some coffee, you found the place.
