"The Pavilion in Union Square, a gorgeous, open-air concrete structure, will soon host a pizza and bocce bar for the summer. Bocce will offer pizzas crafted by a Roberta’s-trained chef and summery spritzes, alongside a bocce court. Ingredients are sourced from the nearby Greenmarket. The menu includes scampi pizza, pesto and market vegetables pizza, snap pea Caesar salad, orecchiette pasta with black walnut pesto, and crispy chicken with rhubarb agrodolce. Drinks focus on spritzes, cocktails, and Italian wines. The space has a history of challenges for restaurants, but new owner Jason Leeds plans to open Bocce later this month, transitioning to delivery-only at season's end." - Stefanie Tuder

Fabulous location right on Union Square. Very friendly atmosphere. Beautifully open to the summer breezes. Drinks aren't horribly expensive. Great spot to stop on a NYC shopping mission. All subways lead to 14 and Broadway.

This is my favorite restaurant and bar in NYC! There's virtually no other place in the city where you can sit outside but not be on the street. The service is great, cocktails are exceptional and the food is excellent. My only request is that they start serving chips and guacamole! That would be perfect for the summer.

The food wasn't bad, but for how incredibly expensive this place is (and yes, it's RIDICULOUSLY expensive) you would expect better. The portions were really tiny and it was mediocrity at it's best. The menu didn't have much selection or variety, even on the cocktail menu I think that there were maybe 5 things to choose from. The only thing this place has going for it is the vibe, the music is nice and the place itself is beautiful - that's what you're paying for. I wouldn't go there again, though.

This place has a nice location and that's it. The seating is terrible. You're blinded by sunlight wherever you sit. The coffee is terrible. I had to send it back and I don't think I've ever sent coffee back before. The service was terrible and slow. It took an hour to get our food and the descriptions of the food are not apt. It's roulette of what you actually get. The food itself is on the level of TGIF if that tells you anything. I'll never go back. Manager and staff were soooooo apathetic about all and any issues we raised.

Pricey entrees and spotty waitstaff make this outdoor patio restaurant in the middle of Union Square a last resort dining experience. The brisket ravioli and fish entree, though tasty, was an appetizer portion and cold since the waiter gave 2 out of 3 of our entrees to the couple sitting at the next table. The flank steak was just not good, at all. The only time our waiter was at all attentive was at collecting his tip money.

I didn't order enough to judge the whole menu and have only been there once so it wouldn't be fair to rate below 3 stars. It was warm out so service took a toll. An outdoor space should be staffed according to the weather, but things happen. We waited long intervals before seeing our/a server. BUT, it's the food that has made me not think of the place. I order mussels. They were served partially open which means they weren't cooked long enough (usually 5+minutes) or they had died before being cooked. Either way, wasn't chancing seafood poisoning and returned the dish. It's not a minor oversight. The kitchen shouldn't have let the dish go to server. There isn't enough reason for me to go back. But I don't condemn the place.

A perfect seasonal retreat for a great meal with friends, family, and coworkers. Grab a drink or grab some entrees and dine al fresco in the open architecture if this great space at the north end of Union Square Park. Let's start with the decor, simply stunning with the large stone pillars and elegant chandelier lighting of a 40s era vibe. The cocktails are an excursion unto themselves and there is no way to do justice to them with words. Let's just say that the mixology is strong here. The dishes were fantastic and well portioned, perfect for sharing. Highly recommend is the skirt steak, perfectly seasoned and cooked -- plated sliced on a light base of marinade. The kale salad was also a big favorite. But, the real star for the summer are the mussels. A heaping mountain of saucy shells full of tender nuggets of buttery mussels and a side of crispy fries. The sauce was just so good! The prices aren't exactly a steal, but face it you're paying a slight premium for the gorgeous ambiance.

I would give this restaurant NO STARS but it's not an option. My colleagues and I decided to have a lunch there two weeks ago and the it's still probably one of THE WORST EXPERIENCES we have ever had and we have been to hundreds of restaurants in the city. The waiters were rude and slow...the food was sub par at best. I mean you can't possibly screw up a Greek salad but alas, they did! The fish tacos were bland and soggy and tasted like something you would get in a buffet somewhere for $10. To top matters off, they fraudulently charged all of our credit cards 3 different dollar amounts to which we are still FIGHTING to get reversed. In total, they charged us almost $400 for a $30 per person lunch. I hope they close this place down just for their ineptitude and horrible food.
