"A whitewashed façade and verdant planters welcome diners to this warm and intimate dining room. In contrast, the interior feels more industrial, by way of large steel vats of beer, for which this bijou is clearly beloved. Other furnishings include a long, welcoming bar lined with green tiles and an array of seats. This is cooking that's certainly both excellent and exciting. Taste the splendor behind the top-shelf ingredients in a seared tuna salad with crunchy greens, sweet mango and soft avocado. Share a plate of potato-bacon croquettes to begin, then tuck into a grilled NY strip accompanied by an arugula salad. There are more than a handful of beers on draft, and tastings ensure decision making is a cinch. Don't miss a slice of their banana cream pie." - Michelin Inspector
"After a mechanical fire erupted on the roof during dinner service on Sunday, November 26, I was relieved to learn the Perch, a Wicker Park brewpub that debuted in 2020 as a collaboration between 4 Star and Finch Beer Co. and is known for its wood-fired items, will reopen at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 6. No one was hurt when flames broke out nine days ago; ownership (4 Star Restaurant Group) says the fire damaged the hood system and the roof and that they've been working nonstop to reopen. They praised the staff and manager Sean Cusick for evacuating every guest and team member safely, thanked the local fire department for its quick response, and will donate proceeds from beer sales to the two stations that helped mitigate the damage." - Ashok Selvam
"The group's most recent opening, launched in Wicker Park as The Perch Kitchen & Tap to expand their neighborhood-focused footprint." - Naomi Waxman
"There’s plenty of room to enjoy the weather in the Perch’s ivy-covered beer garden or on the dog-friendly patio, where your best friend can enjoy a pupsicle or puppy power protein bowl. Get a taste of the brewery’s novel beers like Inari Japanese-style lager brewed with jasmine rice and Queen of Funk kiwi kettle sour ale, or sip an equally refreshing cocktail like the Atticus (Koval cranberry gin, bergamot, lime, hibiscus syrup, and housemade seltzer)." - Sam Nelson
"A collaboration between the owners of 4 Star Restaurant Group (the Smoke Daddy) and Finch Beer Co., this is Wicker Park’s second brewpub. There are two outdoor areas: The front sidewalk patio, and the garden to the east of the building. The space just opened and the offerings will change up. Reservations via Tock." - Ashok Selvam
