"The only place in Chapel Hill currently offering whole hog barbecue, the Pig serves classic ‘cue with some updates. There’s Eastern-style pork barbecue, of course, but also pork cheek served banh mi-style, pork tongue tacos, and fried bologna sandwiches with the bologna made in-house. For a barbecue restaurant, there’s also a surprising number of vegetarian options, and it recently opened the Piggyback Bar behind the main shop, serving beer, wine, cocktails, and an abbreviated bar snacks menu." - Matt Lardie

05/26/25 update- We came back to try their Viet-inspired menu including the crispy pig ears, viet pork cheek sandwich, and bbq banh mi tacos. Everything was delicious! The pork cheek was tender and succulent. The pig ears were addictively crispy. The bbq tacos had a viet nuoc cham sauce and salsa verde on it, which gave it umami complexity that is hard to describe but enjoyable. They also a freezer with their house-made meat products like bacon and ham. The bbq plate hits the spot. I get their sandwiches for takeout. So far, the bbq sandwich, Reuben, and Carolina cubano have been excellent!

This was a recommendation from the book Where Chef’s Eat and WOW we were not disappointed. Dare I say, that portion of pulled pork was perfect. No notes. The fried okra? Divine. Perfectly crisp and seasoned. And if you’re a fan of pickles, this is your place. Pickles are served as a side. Like, a pile of sweet, crisp pickles (see photos). Food is affordable and portions are generous!

No frills BBQ. You come for the meat, period. I got the pulled pork platter with pickles and coleslaw, and asked for the collard greens in place of the hush puppies. Loved everything except for the coleslaw. The flavors were fine, but I couldn’t get past the minced texture. I felt like I was eating pre-chewed coleslaw. 😂 But I wouldn’t hesitate to come back here. The meat was tender and delicious, with no fat or gristle. Hubby had the pulled pork sandwich (he said the minced coleslaw was fine in the sandwich, by the way), and a side of the beet and blue salad, all of which he enjoyed.

As someone that has had NC BBQ from all over the state, I feel I am fairly qualified to make judgements. This is decent Q. It had a nice, mild smokey flavor. From the taste, I would guess it was hickory smoked, which is essential for NC Q. My problem with The Pig's Q is that it contained a fair amount of pieces of fat, skin and gristle. Maybe some folks like this in their Q, but I detest it. If you look at the picture with some material on the left side of the plate, that is the waste I pulled out. The collards were decent, but lacked seasoning, somewhat bland. I asked for vinegar but was told all they had was malt vinegar. I don't know of anyone that puts malt vinegar on collards. I loved the pickles. Overall, I will be returning. I'll just have to take some time to remove the unwanted "extras" mixed in with the pork.

Google
Our search for authentic Carolina bbq has come to a delicious end. Southern bbq can overly be too sweet, not well balanced. The Pig gives you smokiness , acidity, sweetness, saltiness that I crave in a well rounded meal. Simultaneously eating the fatty pork with the delicious pickles really was satisfying. The pork plate is my go to. Some of their best fixings are the sprouts and shrooms and fried okra ( best I’ve ever had).

Google
We tried the salad - wow, great vinaigrette! BBQ sandwich tasty( red sauce). Brisket to die for. Oh wait, the pickles killed it too. Natural fries topped off a nice dinner on the patio. Oh and craft beer on tap. Make this your stop when going to CH from the north. We'll be back!

Google
My experience at the pig was nothing short of spectacular. Chicken was tasty and juicy and the hush puppies were nice. However, the star of the show was the Mac and cheese, absolutely delicious. Definitely pop by for some delicious bbq for a fair price.

We enjoyed the dining environment (you find your seats yourself and put your dishes away afterwards. It feels pretty relaxed for us). The food is great too! (We got catfish plate, and bbq pork sandwich). Will go again.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the Pig. The staff were great. And the food was fabulous.

Yelp
Plenty of parking in a shared lot. Small place with limited tables. Just an FYI for anyone not from NC and or from a state that has real pit BBQ the term BBQ in NC means pulled pork in a vinegar based sauce. I have had NC BBQ many times on the past when I live in NC and also when visiting but today I decided to get a catfish po-boy We were in a group of 4 and all the food was good, service was fast and friendly. Potato salad is redskin potatoes and mustard based and really good, but the coleslaw is odd, finely diced ingredients and yellowish in color, taste started out like coleslaw but finished weird, not a fan as I prefer regular coleslaw Overall place was good and would visit again. Prices a little high for po-boys without including a side of fries. However they do give a large serving of the pickles which are really good taste like bread and butter pickles.

Yelp
Biting into the Carolina Boy BBQ sandwich was a tasty trip to the South--imagine tender pork so well seasoned that practically melts in your mouth, paired with collard greens that taste like a hug from your grandma. And let's not forget the elote corn--it's so good, it could turn a corn skeptic into a corn enthusiast.

Victoria N.

Yelp
The staff who took our order was friendly and attentive. I had the beef brisket plate and the portion is huge. The meat was moist and not overly salted. I think they are too generous with the pickles. Mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy with a southwestern seasoning to it. Overall not the best BBQ place but it was good enough for a quick BBQ that wasn't too pricey.

Jack W.

Yelp
So being new to the area I wanted to check out the local bbq joints and Googled for some suggestions and found this place. I ordered a bbq sandwich and a regular ice tea. The service was friendly and quick. That being said, it was down hill from there. First off, the bbq was dry and had no flavor. I've been smoking meat since my 20's (I'm 41 now..) and I've made better pulled pork dishes than these folks. Aside from that, their regular tea was a small cup and the price I paid for the tea and the sandwich was ridiculous! Over $15! Smithfield BBQ definitely does a better job and doesn't charge out the ying yang. Definitely recommend you look elsewhere for some good bbq, cuz this place isn't it!

Christopher C.

Yelp
It's a simple diner-style barbecue joint. The service is kind and the food is prepared quickly. The brisket is well-cooked, but gets lost underneath a ladle of warm sauce. The egg salad-type cole slaw is a little awkward and I'd recommend coughing up $2 to switch this side. The pickles are more similar to cucumbers dunked in vinegar, but still a nice refresher. The hush puppies on top are decent, but it makes the plate a little crowded. Cheers!

Courtney T.

Yelp
No wait at 5:30pm. Comfortable patio. Food was ok. The interior was simple. Drinks are sold next door. Seemed like the best bet for NC BBQ near chapel hill, but I probably won't come back.

Kathryn M.

Yelp
Hubby and I are visiting Chapel Hill for the weekend. We got in late afternoon and wanted some dinner. Of course after Yelping around we see The Pig. Their menu looked fun so we gave it a try. They were not busy at all. At first we didn't know what to do, so we walked up to the counter and the guy behind it was super friendly. He explained to order first then just have a seat and they bring it out to you. I ordered the bbq sandwich. It came with coleslaw and their unique pickles. It was amazing! The coleslaw looked very different than what I'm used to but boy was it delicious! Of course I put it on my sandwich and loved it. The pickles were to me, basically cucumber salad cut like pickles. I loved them! We also ordered the 3 sides (baked beans, collards, and fried green tomatoes). Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious! I loved the house made remoulade that came with the tomatoes! Yumm!! Hubby loved his bbq platter. I liked their version of hush puppies... in the shape of twists. The restaurant is not fancy at all. It's casual. It was clean. It is a perfect setting for a bbq restaurant. We are definitely fans and will definitely be back! Maybe once again before we drive back home 4 hours away.

L Q.

Yelp
My meal at the pig was disappointing. They serve a pulled pork style BBQ that doesn't fall in the traditional NC BBQ style. It has a good smoke flavor, but is dry and does not appear to have a sauce. Rather there are vinegar and Kraft style BBQ sauces on the side. A plate is served with pickles (these are good), a generous portion of hush puppies (that resembled Cheetos in size) and an inedible mustard based finely processed slaw (mush). The French fry side order was probably the best dish, homemade and a large portion. In spite of both positive and minus features of the food taste, I will seek other bbq restaurants. I feel mislead by the 4 star reviews, which lead me to post this unenthusiastic critique.

Kong L.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place but couldn't find a good enough reason to do so other than the side of hushpuppies and cucumbers. I ordered a chopped bbq pork and it was hard to tell if it was smoked or not. I did get pieces of the bark but the flavor was just missing. The pork was a bit too chewy and overcooked for me. I added both of the bbq sauces and I still couldn't find the "IT" factor. The slaw was a bit bland to me as well. Am I missing something here? For $14 price tag, I expected more.

Hannah I.

Yelp
I have always loved The Pig especially during my time at UNC. They have great vegetarian options and the sides are delicious. My sister and I usually split one vegetarian plate and the sides plate. Plenty of food with leftovers as well. Definitely check out them out, the workers were so sweet as well!

Yelp
I can't tell you how delicious ALL of our food was when we came here. My boyfriend and I were in town, and were extremely disappointed the night before by going to Midwood. Growing up with actual pig pickins at family reunions outside of Wilson, NC, it's fair to say I'm a critic and analyst over anything calling itself NC bbq. My boyfriend and I arrived right at opening, and I will say, it's a walk up, order, then grab your drink and have a seat anywhere kind of place. After my initial moment of, "Oh, it's not a 'full-service' kind of place?" I got the memo. I decided to order the whole kit and caboodle. Mac and cheese, fried okra, which, to me, were coated in a mixture of cornmeal and sweet hush puppy mix. It was insanely delicious. Also ordered beer baked beans, and a barbecue sandwich with coleslaw on the side. Secondly, make sure to check out the pictures of the coleslaw in other reviews. Some people didn't know how to take it, but the main difference is that it looks like a food processor was used to make it. It still tasted like Carolina coleslaw to me, just had a slightly different texture than I'm used to, but I loved it! I HATE coleslaw normally. I almost finished the entire dish of it! My boyfriend ordered the bbq nachos for both of us to share, and they were so good, I ate them three days later, and still loved them! We shared the sides, and I swear I quit eating 5 times, but couldn't help but keep taking small bites, because the food was THAT good! I almost cried during my lunch: it was so beautiful to be reminded of the family reunions I attended as a child, with my grandmother, who is no longer with us, and of several family members who we've also lost through the years. Sorry for such a long review, but eating at this restaurant and eating Carolina bbq was/is it's own experience, almost a nonnegotiable reminder to stop, enjoy, and slow down. I wouldn't have it any other way, and any time I'm in or near Chapel Hill again, I will absolutely take any detour necessary to come back to THE PIG!!!!!!!

Kathy W.

Yelp
We were in Chapel Hill and trying to find a place fast. The Pig was nearby and with good rating on yelp so we tried. We ordered catfish plate, beef brisket plate, bbq plate plus 2 sides. Decent pricing. Beef brisket was very good But portion on the meat is just ok, I wish there was more meat then the hush puppies. We really like their slaw , it's different from other places we tried and tasted very refreshing. The pickles is really tasty as well but I suspect it's a bit too much sugar. My mom liked catfish dish and overall it's a good place for lunch.

Kelvin J.

Yelp
Although it's called a bbq restaurant, I would consider it Southern inspired. I ordered the catfish platter and a side of collard greens. My daughter ordered the shitake po boy. My platter had an interesting array of items: an egg salad looking coleslaw (never seen anything like it before), hush puppy strips instead of the balls (again, a first), a sizable portion of chopped cucumbers that were pickled, and a decent sized piece of catfish. The catfish was not breaded, so, again, I was taken a little by surprise, also would have been good if there were either a bigger piece of fish or a second filet. The greens were solid. Daughter said, "I quite enjoyed my po boy. I would definitely get that again." I thought things were good, not great. Personally, I would only go back if others in my group wanted to go there. I was going to rate a -3- but kudos for having multiple options for vegans and diet restricted.

Madison P.

Yelp
Oh my god it is SO GOOD!! I've lived in NC my entire life and I'm a southern good fanatic, so I feel like I'm relatively qualified to say that this is some of the best barbecue food I've had. I went vegetarian a few years ago and barbecue is the one thing I miss most, but The Pig's vegetarian/vegan options have 100% fixed that!! Their tempeh platter is my favorite. So few restaurants do tempeh well but the tempeh here is cooked and seasoned perfectly. The Pig is one of my partner and I's favorite go-to takeout place in the area -- can't recommend enough, especially for those who are plant based and looking for good southern food!

Steph A.

Yelp
Plentiful portions. Nice staff, laid back little place with outside patio. Food was good, with the option of a few different bbq sauces. Pimento cheese fries were delish! They do not offer a kids menu but as you can tell from the bbq plate picture below, portions are plenty to share with a little one.

Daniel M.

Yelp
Came in from out of town, walked up to the counter, had no clue what to do/get. Folks working were beyond helpful, they made the entire experience a good one, and the food was delicious. Go here!

Jacqui B.

Yelp
Hooray for The Pig! A BBQ place that doesn't just BOTHER to have vegetarian options, but actually seems to have asked themselves "what would BBQ be like if we wanted vegetarians to ENJOY it?" Just kudos all around. Really enjoyed the tempeh BBQ platter, but even happier that there were a couple of other veg options. And my meet eating family members were happy too. Would happily go back.

Melanie G.

Yelp
We brought guests here for dinner; there were 7 of us. None of the food was fresh--- except the hushpuppies. It was all clearly deteriorated from being too old and had an unpleasant taste, texture and/or odor in one way or another. All of the various smoked meats: Brisket and Pork were clearly deteriorated from being too many days old--the unpleasant spoiled taste, dried out texture, and unpleasant odor reflected this--simply awful-- In a normal household they would have been thrown out. The Mac and Cheese was so deteriorated, it was mushed together and consolidated in one unrecognizable big chunk. Even the texture and taste of the pickles were age deteriorated, not crisp or remotely fresh. Very disappointing and I would not recommend coming here unless you just want hushpuppies......

Jon K.

Yelp
You cannot go wrong with anything on this menu! I got the bbq sandwich and my wife gets the BLT and we always share the "pick 3" sides. We picked fried okra, hush puppies and mac and cheese but all of its good. We have been here many times and it has never disappointed.

Patrick Y.

Yelp
Bottom line: this place was recommended by an associate and it definitely did not disappoint. My first time having North Carolina BBQ and this place definitely set a high bar for it. In order to get the full experience I chose to follow my associate's lead and get the BBQ Platter, which had some pull pork style meat, hush puppies, slaw, and pickles. Additionally, I added a basket of Sprouts and Mushrooms and basket... and those were awesome. Also those sides were more than enough for two (2) or more people so I recommend ordering those to share. Overall- great experience and a place I'll definitely come back to when I'm back in town.

Anthony D.

Yelp
The ribs and the BBQ pork were awesome. The staff is very friendly and polite. I love this place!

joe z.

Yelp
No idea why this business has such high ratings. Had the pork bbq plate - coarse chopped, large pieces of gristle. Slaw was orange..? Hush puppies were made through an extruded and came out like large green beans in shape. Sauce was...meh. Not spicy, not sweet. Expected a lot more since I'm in NC. Best bbq I had while here was in ashboro nc.

Melissa T.

Yelp
We love this local please text behind East Chapel Hill high school. The pickle plate, barbecue, tacos are our favorites!

Fran N.

Yelp
The sandwich is very good. One of the best ham and Swiss sandwiches I ever had. The homemade bread and butter pickles are really good also. The service was great and so was the young man that waited on me

Ann B.

Yelp
This is a good place to get your money's worth of food. I ordered the rib platter thinking it would be 4 ribs, no it was a half if a rack and not baby backs either. They were good, very tender and the sauce was good also. I shared them with 4 family members and still took some home! The coleslaw that comes on the side is different. I wasn't a fan. The homemade sliced pickles were good, kind of on the bread and butter line of pickles but nice and crispy. It was a great value at $18. Employees were nice and courteous.

Peter N.

Yelp
Disappointing, for sure. Visiting and feeding a family in Chapel Hill, we ordered take-out for all from The PIG, looking forward to some good southern BBQ, including southern specialties like fried okra, hush puppies and catfish. The family was excited too. With dinner time at hand, we spread the take-out meal on the counter, discovering some real lapses. We ordered 2 Mac n Cheese, but received only one, and ordered a side of hush puppies that was also left out completely. You might think a small container or two of Southern BBQ Sauce would be appropriate as well. Most likely, if I had called them, the answer would be an invitation for me to interrupt a family dinner for a 30 minute round trip back to pick it up, or perhaps a refund, neither of which would help the dinner we were all planning to enjoy. As for the BBQ, it was good, but lost in my apologies to all for the mistake. It was an unfortunate experience, probably dismissed as caused by staffing shortage.

Inger B.

Yelp
Went for lunch and got the brisket, slaw and double hush puppies instead of their pickles. Meat was very flavorful and tender. Hush puppies were good and slaw was very fine. Would go back.

Darien B.

Yelp
Overall, one of the best BBQ places I've dined at for the money. Good portion sizes and reasonable prices. The sides that come with the plates, cole slaw, cucumber salad and hush puppy fingers are a very nice touch and are delicious. The extra sides are very good too, like the potato salad, baked beans and macaroni & cheese. The pulled pork was very good, the brisket not so much. A word of caution on the brisket. It's very fatty, so if you like your beef lean, this one isn't for you. The dining area is small. Overall, I rate it 4-1/2 stars, brisket not included.

Stuart S.

Yelp
Giving the Pig three stars for the following reason: limited substitutions- wanted a combo bbq plate but not on menu. Pulled pork plate came with pickles, slaw & hush puppies. Could not substitute the pickles or slaw but could add more hush puppies. Had a number of sides like mac & cheese, fries, baked beans etc. but could not substitute. Looked like 3-4 ozs. of pork & 10 ozs of hush puppies on my plate! The bbq was very tasty but would have liked to have a 2 or 3 meat combo on the menu. For full disclosure, I was told I could add pulled pork to any other meat but I would have preferred seeing it on the menu with a price. Maybe a bit nit picky but I am used to ordering a meat combo plate with a choice of multiple sides. Next time I will just order a sandwich with a side. Good q though.

Brandon R.

Yelp
I've been loving The Pig since they opened. The BBQ and sides are amazing. You gotta love the funnel-cake-esque hushpuppies! I don't know if you can go wrong on this menu, but I really love the smoked chicken. The staff are always super knowledgeable and friendly. The location is great. The outdoor patio is a great place to be on any North Carolina evening.

Elizabeth N.

Yelp
Great food, no frills but killer BBQ. If you need ambiance, get take out. Brisket and pulled pork are a must.

Jöshua M.

Yelp
At this point I feel kind of silly writing another update for The Pig. I've had a few decent experiences and two great experiences. Then, there was my most recent experience. Slightly over a month ago, I returned to The Pig for the first time in years, and the food was as great as I remembered. The hushpuppies were made from a sublime batter that provided it with flavors that simply aren't found elsewhere. The veggies were as great as ever, and the mac n cheese was... mac n cheese! I overlooked the imperfections in the ribs. While I adore the barbecue sauce for the ribs, the rib meat itself tends to not be the perfect fall-off-the-bone tender that you expect from ribs. I had no issues overlooking this flaw because everything else was incredible. More recently, I might have eaten my last meal at The Pig. I ordered my typical ribs plate with mac n cheese. While the veggies and mac n cheese remained veggies and mac n cheese, everything else was truly awful. The hushpuppies tasted like reheated trash. I truly can't believe a place would serve reheated hushpuppies, but I know what I tasted. Hushpuppies don't have that long of a shelf life, and they also don't represent significant food cost. A barbecue restaurant should always serve reasonably fresh hushpuppies! The ribs at The Pig have never been perfect, but I still usually adore them. This trip, the ribs were disgustingly salty. I almost never find food too salty, so trust that this is on a different level of inedibility. The rib sauce usually is the savior of the meal for me, but this time, the sauce was congealed and equally disgusting. There is always the chance that I dealt with the B team. To a certain extent, the B team could be faulted for some of the issues. A better staff would never serve congealed barbecue sauce. That said, it frankly is a failure of management for a place to serve old hushpuppies and [likely] old ribs. To quote the great Gordon Ramsay, "Have some respect! Donkey!" It's an extreme move to down a place to two stars from five, but trust that my initial evaluation of this place was likely too high. Good restaurants can have bad days. Great restaurants can even fail to execute. That said, a good restaurant would never serve the disgusting filth that I was served.

Shavon D.

Yelp
All the food is seasoned with the same thing.. seemed like Italian seasoned bread crumbs.. but whatever it was gave my family and I heartburn and upset stomach. The coleslaw is orange and tasted more like celery than cabbage. The catfish tacos were horrible little black bricks. The Mac n cheese nuggets "Dank Nugs" were gross and wet. They don't have ribs or white meat chicken. I would not recommend to anyone especially with children. And it cost way more than it was worth.

Jean L.

Yelp
Tempeh, tofu, or shitaki? We've eaten at the PIG for years as a vegetarian family. We love to order for pick-up. Do NOT forget the mac n cheese. Yes! Thank you! Delicious! Get into my belly. :)

Lance G.

Yelp
The food was good! The sauce seemed weird by itself but when on the BBQ sandwich, it tasted very good. The serving size of fries was kind of a rip off. 4 dollars for a large tray that really was best for more than one person. A smaller size would have been better. Prices were a tad high I felt like, but not enough to throw a fit haha.

Pete M.

Yelp
Everything is tasty! Love the brisket, ribs and collards; kids love the chicken; mom loves the mac'n'cheese. The pickles are great. I wish my eye could match the taste of the yellow cole slaw...sorry, 'Pig, but the tang isn't really there for me. Try Saucy''s in Petersburg for truly fantastic slaw! Jayseth at the counter gave great service, and on this stop, all was as it should be with collard greens to take to a friend. We had a feast last Juneteenth from The Pig, and that was extra special. Going back soon, and relishing the thought. Keep up the great work!

Clay N.

Yelp
Truly great brisket. Great chicken. Great pork ribs The pulled pork is really good IF you like Carolina style (vinegar based, not Texas' candied ketchup) Great fries and very great cheese fries. I don't know how this place has only two $$... it is pretty pricey. As far as BBQ goes, this place is more like four $$$$. Don't get me wrong, its worth it :-) This seems to be the only real brisket bbq place in Chapel Hill.

Alexandra S.

Yelp
GET THE CAROLINA BOY. You will not regret it. Hands down THE BEST sandwich I've had in my entire life.

Jessica H.

Yelp
I LOVED The Pig! It's been around for a really long time and I'm ashamed to say I just visited recently. I was blown away by the delicious options on the menu- even for non-pork fans such as myself. In addition to the pulled pork bbq they have brisket, chicken, hot dogs, tofu and tempeh. I got the brisket po' boy which was fantastic. The meat was tender, the banana peppers added a delicious and sour punch, and I want another one right now. The sandwich came with a side of house-made pickles, which were delicious. My husband and I shared a side of fried okra which had the most delicious blend of seasonings on it that I had ever tasted. This place is very casual. You order at the counter, and they bring you your food when it's ready. But it's clean and orderly and they do an amazing job. I can't wait to go back!

Dan H.

Yelp
A solid spot for some good BBQ in Chapel Hill. I've been meaning to try The Pig for a while but their weekend hours rarely line up with my plans. I managed to get over there on a rare weekday off and it was worth the wait. The Pig is how I feel a BBQ restaurant should be, not overly fancy with a bit of a down-home feel and just a little grit. Fancy BBQ places are overrated and overpriced and sadly the Triangle area these places are becoming a trend. The Pig fits right into how I feel a BBQ place should be. I got the Kosher Cowboy Special which is Smoked Beef Brisket on top of two potato latkes and topped with beer baked beans. It was terrific and there was lots of it too. The Brisket very tasty and the latkes were cooked just right. Thick and greasy like I like them. The person I was with got a hot dog with pimento cheese on top of it, and raved about it to the point I was jealous I didn't get a hot dog too. It will easily be the next thing I try when I go back along with their pimento cheese fries which looked delicious. The Pig does offer some vegetarian options for place that caters heavy to the meat eating crowd. The person I was with also got a fried oyster sandwich. If you do go with someone with some dietary restrictions they do have options that are meat-free. The Pig has it's own lot with ample parking and while it does have a clear lunch rush and crowd it wasn't hard to get a seat. It's an unasuming restaurant which is part of the appeal if you ask me. The prices are fair and in line with most BBQ places where your typical meal will be around $8-$10 depending on your sides and if you want to try multiple meats. If you're looking for a good Authentic BBQ place The Pig is a safe bet with lots of BBQ choices on their menu and some speciality things like their bacon and hot dogs. It's very much a place for meat lovers.

Tinyee H.

Yelp
I ordered the brisket with extra hush puppies, collard greens and fried green tomatoes. The brisket and collard greens were tender and delicious, but I can't say the same about the other side dishes. I guess it would be because of takeout the fried dishes were soggy by the time I came home. But the fried tomatoes didn't have a golden color rather a dull brown color and lackluster flavor. The hush puppies were hard and chewy. The plate of meat also comes with hp, too many sweet pickles, and a scoop of watery and finely chopped slaw.

Max A.

Yelp
Solid brisket. Solid pulled pork sandwich. My daughter said it was the best pulled pork sandwich she has ever had. The service is excellent and I noticed that most patrons were greeted by their name. Pretty cool. They were running a rib tip special. It sounded good, but unfortunately it was awful, not sure if they were sitting for a while, but they were hard and very overcooked. Not sure what was the deal. Sides. My fav. Check out my pics...... Fries and perfect and served in a huge basket Fried green tomatoes, yummy, crispy and delish. Broccoli and mushrooms, you gotta get this, it is awesome, I really do not see this dish at BBQ joints, and don't skip it, yummy! All sides can be shared, they are huge!!!!!!!

Angela F.

Yelp
That meal was fantastic! I got the pork BBQ plate and added Mac n cheese. It was way to much food. I've never been to a bbq place that served that many pickles on the side-and they were delicious! The weird curly hush puppies were the best I've ever had. Everything was great! Service too.

Anyya C.

Yelp
So I had a craving for barbeque a d saw this on yelp with a 4 star rating. So I decided to try. It was a bit pricey but I figured it must be work it. Fast forward to when I got to work and looked at my 18.54 plate of dried out brisket. I was like What the World is this? 2 dried up pieces of brisket for 18 dollars. I am a foodie and dont mind paying for good food, but best believe I was not at all pleased with what I received and definately will not recommend this establishment to anyone... However I was given a refund but that was only right. Very disappointed.

Yelp
Definitely some of the best smoked brisket I've ever had. Melts in your mouth. All of their sides were excellent. In particular the hush puppy strings? It's like a french fry size hush puppy and it's delicious. I just wish the serving sizes were larger. Typically not something I would say but the food is so good and I wanted more

Yelp
I've only gotten the brisket platter and a brisket sandwich... fabulous. The wife loves the collard greens. And BBQ pork. She wasn't very impressed with the BBQ chicken.

Yelp
I've been to a handful of BBQ places in the area and so far this has to be my fave! Pork was moist and flavorful even before adding sauce. And all SIX sides that I tried were also great - pickles, slaw, hush puppies, mac and cheese, pickled beets, and fries. Fries were a bit soggy but still good somehow. A bit more expensive than some other places but I will probably be back anyway.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by the vegetation options here. I had the sandwich and loved it!

Yelp
Got the brisket with Mac and cheese and collards. It came with hushpuppies and house made pickles. First off.. I hate pickles. With a passion. But these... They were crisp and sweet. Loved them! The brisket was ok. The collards were a little overcooked, but still tasty. Had little bits of pork in it. The macaroni and cheese.... AAAAARGH! It tasted like someone dumped a pound of nutmeg in it. WTH? Not sure why anyone thinks this is a welcomed addition to such a wonderful, yet simple dish. IT IS NOT! Stop it (through clenched teeth).
