Fast Casual Bento Box Spot Supertoro Hits Hollywood on Monday | Eater LA

"Backed by local dining group K2 Restaurants, this fast-casual Japanese bento box spot positions itself as one of Los Angeles’s early bento-box concepts, offering a tight menu of staples—from crispy rice topped with spicy tuna, yellowtail, rock shrimp, or pork belly to rolls, greens and small snacks—plus beer and sake (also available at its Santa Monica food-hall outpost). The large, primely situated Hollywood space, formerly home to Demitasse and briefly a döner shop, features a bright, airy communal dining area refreshed with warm color tones and lots of light wood after a build-out overseen by The Forest Group. The Hollywood location opens Monday with hours of 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and extended service until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays; the first 50 guests in line can snag a free bento box, and an Echo Park expansion was planned for 2020." - Farley Elliott

Westside’s Supertoro Sushi Roll Jumps to Familiar Hollywood Location | Eater LA

"Expanding from a stall at the colorful SocialEats food hall near the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, this Japanese hand-roll and cut-roll sushi specialist is opening a standalone spot at 1542 N. Cahuenga in Hollywood (between Sunset and Hollywood). The expanded menu adds crispy rice dishes and a build-your-own bento box format—part of a growth push by parent company K2 Restaurants—to complement hand rolls with options such as soba noodle salads and proteins like spicy tuna and pork belly, plus beer and wine including many craft Japanese selections. Operators hope the new outpost will finally stick in a space that previously hosted short-lived concepts like Kebbros (a döner kebab shop with a robotic slicer) and Demitasse (coffee, cocktails, and American fare). No official opening date has been announced, though an opening is expected later this year." - Farley Elliott

I was pleasantly surprised to stumble across The Pink Teacup Villa as I was walking by recently. I knew there was now an LA location, but didn’t know where so of course I went in to check it out. The vibe was perfect, cute and feminine with some great music playing. Chef Lawrence was also there and he was a pleasure to speak to and the customer service was A1 just like the food. I had the fried chicken, mac & cheese and greens. The food was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I told the chef it was evident that he cooks his food with love. I also had one of the drinks which was very tasty. Looking forward to coming back for brunch. I highly recommend Pink Teacup Villa, you won’t be disappointed.

I stumbled upon this place after leaving my hotel. They had just opened for Sunday brunch. The owner is a super cool dude. He came out before we ordered and during the meal to check in. We ordered salmon and grits and catfish and grits. Both dishes were good. I would have loved to try the sides, but in my opinion, the price points were a little high. However, I'm sure they were just as amazing as the food I did order. I will be back.

We were able to get a table right away due to having Reservations. The music was all current and loud. The host was a nice young man. He was working double duty. From attending the door, to checking on tables. It was $38 for shrimp an grits. The music was so loud that our server didn't hear we wanted the check. The decor was Very floral inside.

We were really let down when we chose to spend Mother's Day at this restaurant in Los Angeles. Given our knowledge of the chef's skills from his location in NY we chose to box the food we received and head out of the restaurant. Nevertheless, because our dinner for two cost $351, I feel obligated to let him know about our experience. We were still hungry because the food was so bad. My fish was really rubberish, and the chicken and waffle—well, the photo says it all. I won't even get started on our beverages and I'm not a big drinker but the Soju alcohol percentage must have been 1%. My sweetie was so excited to taste the chefs' food again because it was sooo good the first time , but it was all for nothing the 2nd time around. I truly hope that he finds his way again because beforehand his food was truly amazing.

The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were AMAZING. The waffles were so soft, fluffy and savory. We were able to get a table right away and the server was so nice and attentive. I will definitely be back again.

Google
If I could give 0 stars I would. Totally ripped us off with a plate full of glory greens and twice deep friend salmon croquettes. We also had catfish and they only give one piece for $36! They played sexy red the entire time. This is not a trap dinner!! We were the only customers which was a sign that we should have left immediately. The bill was $146!!!!!! For a plate full of greens. Y’all better run and don’t stop!!! Then he tells us he’s in the back getting drunk. Had to be with the amount of greens on the plate. And this picture is after eating a few off the plate. I want my money.

I love supporting my black owned businesses, however this one needs improvement. I was excited to go in and see how cute this restaurant was so A+ to the designer. Now as far as the customer service goes, they need to train their waitresses better. The waitress explained their menu was a QR code, no problem! I browsed to see what i wanted and ordered. I noticed they had a sangria and I wanted to know if I could have a sample. Well like any other restaurant, I assumed this would be ok. But No! The waitress look puzzled when i ask her for a sample then said “ I don’t think we do that.” I ask if she could check and she returned with a hard NO! Then my friend let me taste her crab cake and it wasn’t good. So I asked her to remove it from my order and she brought it anyway. When i asked her to take it back the chef returned and said I can’t take the order off your bill but I can substitute it for something else. That’s odd because you shouldn’t try to make someone pay for something they didn’t want in the first place. Then when it was time to pay the waitress hovered over us asking repeatedly were we ready to pay which was really annoying. The greens was very spicy The mashed potatoes was greasy The lamb chops were half cooked The crab cakes taste like sweet card board. Needless to say, Our bill was $980 for 8 people. The pink teacup should be called the holy grail for these prices. My advice to the owner, please take customer service 101. I believe this is why our party spent 4 hours in this restaurant and we were the only ones there on a Saturday night….

Google
I was very excited to try the Pink Tea Cup Villa, because my niece had gone there before and she highly recommend it and the food look good. Plus I love to support my black people as well. However, I also expect excellence. I had the shrimp & grits and the waffle and cat fish.(Don't worry I did eat all of it) My granddaughter had the mac & cheese and the salmon Crockett and grits (I tasted her's). We each had a cocktail. There were 5 other people in my party as well. I loved my cocktail as did everyone in my party. However, I was disappointed with the food. The waffle was served on a paper plate that was the same size as the waffle! Are you kidding me? The butter and syrup was in the little container that McDonlads gives you. Then after all of that, it was tough!! I've never had to saw a waffle before In my life. It was slipping on the paper plate so much until I just gave up. I only could eat a fourth of the waffle. Which by the way I have never done before. I alway eat a whole waffle. I was hard pressed to taste any cheese in the grits. The shrimp, you had to pull off the tail, which means you get grits on your fingers in order to eat a shrimp. My granddaughter's crocketts were terrible. The mac and cheese was good. The servicers were very pleasant. However, what good are the pleasant servers if what they serve is mediocre? Our bill was $700 for 7 people for Sunday brunch. The quality and the taste was not worth it. Personally I don't expect this place to survive.

Yelp
Everything about this place is AMAZING no lie! 5/5 Service was great! The Chef (Lawrence) came out to greet us. The server made recommendations and was on top of service. I don't remember her name but she was friendly. 5/5 Food was AMAZING! I had catfish, yams and a side of Mac and cheese all bomb.com no lie, as I don't like most folks Mac and cheese but I was highly impressed. I also wanted greens but they were out I guess there was a little bit left and the chef gave them to me I'm glad he did bc they were my favorite !!! Drinks weren't as strong as I'd like them but you know. Prices were average! And I had left overs so portions were decent! 5/5 Ambiance is soooooo cute!!! The floral ambiance was super cute. Music playing was good (my type of party lol). It's small cute and quaint! Great for like a birthday brunch or dinner, day night or brunch!

Yelp
The ambiance/food/service was amazing! Me and my girlfriends had such a great time when we went on Sunday for my "see you later brunch". Music was on point and the chef kept coming out and hanging out with us and chatting. The staff was super friendly and professional! The food was delicious! The decor is social media ready too! Happy we came and enjoyed ourselves.

Yelp
Yay! So happy to support a new Black-owned restaurant, and to find that it lives up to my every expectation. While the website was in flux, giving an "I dunno" vibe, calling the restaurant for reservations met with competent enthusiasm. I was in contact with the host for a party of 10. Unfortunately the day of, we only ended up with 4. They were able to readily accommodate us--with smiles, as we gave up the larger table for a booth. Although parking was hard, due to the being out of use that Sunday (It will be hard for anyone on Sunday due to close proximity of the Farmer's Market), we were met with beautiful energy from Dapper Dan at the door. The whole morn was met with competent smiles, making us feel good about continued patronage. This is a cute restaurant. Very Instagrammable! The menu is small, but mighty. One of us had catfish and waffles. Another had catfish and grits. Another had the shrimp and grits. And another had the crab cakes. They also had special mimosas: watermelon and strawberry. All of our food was delicious! The server, while busy, was full of joy! This just added to the Black girl magic of the morn. The DJ was on point, and all servers added to the joyous ambiance. Someone had a birthday while we were there, and we were able to join in the hip-hop birthday medley of songs by the servers. This is definitely worth coming back and worth doing with my girls!

Yelp
When we first arrived, no one was at the podium, so we had to wander in to find the host. The ambiance is really cute. I like the floral decorations. It's really girly. Not sure macho men will want to eat there. But still first impressions upon walking in is good. The music was good too. I didn't hear profanity like some of the other reviews indicates. But it was loud. Sadly, that's pretty much where it ends... NOTE: I put +/- after some of my comments to indicate positive or negative review. We made reservations and were seated immediately. + After waiting for a long time, we had to get up and ask someone to take our order - Because of the wait, our drinks were comp'd + The drinks were terrible. They tasted watery, and we didn't taste any alcohol. We didn't even drink them down halfway. They were awful - Oh they were also out of Sprite soda - One person in our party was underaged and she wanted a virgin pina colada. They were out of colada mix. So they made her a different drink, she said it was wayyyy overly sweet and only took a sip or two - While placing our order, the waiter wasn't writing anything down, so he kept having to ask us several times when confirming what we ordered - The food came pretty quickly + but some of the sides were wrong, probably because he didn't write it down, and some of the food items were cold - - double minus Breakdown: Ordered 3 chicken wings and waffle. Chicken was very delicious, seasoned well, crispy crunch. Waffle was cold. Not lukewarm...cold. Butter wouldn't even melt. Ordered chicken legs with waffle. Thought we were ordering drumsticks, but got drumette party wings. Still delicious and friend well. Waffle was cold. Ordered lamb chops which comes with mashed potatoes. They were out of mashed potatoes so we asked for mac n cheese instead. They said no, we HAD TO have it with greens. When asked why, we were told because that's what they switched it to. Chops were sliced very thin and average tasting. Greens were salty. Ordered 2 sides of yams. Received about a cup full per serving. $17 for a cup of yams?!?!! They looked like canned yams. Not saying that they were but that's what they looked like. The flavor was average. The Mac n Cheese had a good consistency with a nice crust on top. Again slight salty. Syrup is served in little to go plastic containers. You would think for the prices here, they'd serve it warm in a syrup dispenser. And they don't bring it with your waffles. You have to ask several times and then they will bring it. The hot sauce was very thin. Looks like water was added. I poured hot sauce all over my chicken and didn't feel one bit of pepper heat. Our server, Roy, was very very nice. He was polite and professional despite getting our order wrong several times and forgetting stuff. We had to send him back to the kitchen several times for the butter, the syrup, the sides, a side plate, etc. I wanted to order the chocolate cake to go, but I was so disappointed with the food that I decided against the cake. The owner/chef came out and said hi. He was so nice that we felt bad telling him what we really thought of the food, so we didn't. There was another party sitting behind us and the chef asked them if they liked their meal, one of the ladies kinda raised her eyebrows and after he walked off she said "No!" And she and her party laughed. Would I come here again? Maybe...it's only been open for a month. Maybe give them another chance after the bugs are worked out. I always believe in second chances. But I will definitely NOT order the yams at that exorbitant price for the small serving that you get. I REALLY wanted to like this place and support black business, but This place is pretty expensive and if they want to stay in the game, they've got to step it up. I don't mind paying top $$ for excellence. But this was nowhere close to it. I also don't like that they automatically included an 18% gratuity even if it's a check for one person. They didn't try to hide it. They did tell me upfront and you do have the option to change it.

Yelp
The food was amazing! Let's start with our server she was awesome, attentive, and full of suggestions. I was leaving town this day, so I wanted to try everything, lol. The wings had a delicious smokey flavor. The greens were tangy and a bit spicy but super tender. The waffle was basic, not real flavor or sweetness. They have an array of specialty cocktails, and everyone I had was delicious. The decor is super cute and inviting for a ladies' brunch. Ot was my fitness birthday, and they owner came out with shots and fifted us a bottle of champagne! He took pictures and made sure we were good. If you are in town, stop by this spot.

Yelp
Correction: Domique was my servicer yesterday. I apologize, Domique. Thanks again! I was here yesterday and back today with 5 more people. The food is just as amazing! The music is bumping, yet again. Make a reservation so Chef Lawrence can have all of your favorites

Yelp
If you're craving some soulful comfort food, Pink Tea Cup Villa is the place to be! Their catfish and waffles are a perfect blend of crispy and tender, making for a truly satisfying meal. The chicken and waffles are just as impressive, with juicy, flavorful chicken paired with fluffy waffles. And if you're a fan of shrimp and grits, you're in for a treat--the dish is creamy, well-seasoned, and downright delicious. The owner is friendly and well as the host.

Yelp
My daughter and I were celebrating our birthdays with a dinner and a show (Hamilton). I picked out The Pink Teacup based on some reviews and the menu. What a fortunate choice! The food was DELECTABLE and the atmosphere was incredibly charming and fun! You can't miss the Mac and cheese! But it was the welcome and service that put the cherry on top. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend!

Yelp
This place is fantastic. We came here for a birthday party. The food was great. I had the shrimp and grits. 10/10. The drinks are creative and fun. Our party was large and everyone loved their food. I forgot to take pics but if you want soul food without coming further south this is your place. The chef came out and celebrated the bday girl and the customer service was A1. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
I attended the soft opening here and I am impressed with the refreshing take on southern food in Los Angeles. Food was well spiced, flavorful and reminded me of food I grew up on.

Yelp
The food had weird flavors. Very over priced. I get it cuz they chose an expensive location. FOOD came out super fast tho and piping HOT. Drinking were delicious! Decor A+ . Staff friendly and amazing.

Aaron H.

Yelp
Food gets 3 stars. What I would expect for someone that followed a recipe online, not what I would expect for someone who considers themself a chef. Ambiance is very unprofessional. The Chef wants to be a reality star and tries to make a mediocre eatery a popular club. His desire is to sleep with as many of his workers and guests as possible. Do not bring your family here!
google avatar

Tyteana P.

Yelp
The vibes are great! The service was great! It was a fun time but I had issues with my food. I just didn't like it. I had the catfish and waffle. The catfish was not good, I switched it for the pasta because my friend had that and it was good when I tried his! But when I got mine a lot of my noodles were crunchy and I couldn't even eat them. Perhaps other food items are good, I just didn't have any luck.

Yelp
Wow, this place was horrendous. Let's go over some of the categories: Decor: Cheap as hell. I feel like they went to a Dollar Tree and grabbed every tacky item they could find. They should have leaned more heavily into the teacup/vintage theme. Instead, they chose to drown the walls in ridiculous fake flowers. Food: Mostly very bad. The catfish was a little decent. The macaroni was drowning in oil for some bizarre reason. The grits tasted like they came straight out the box. No butter or salt? The crab cakes were a $23 pile of garbage. Like they were frozen for 4 months and then today the chef decided to pop it in the microwave and serve it to me. Ambiance: It was loud as hell. I had to shout to hear the person next to me. I think there's a difference between having a party/fun atmosphere, and the noise levels here. It would have been okay if they just turned it down a little. Service: So I will say this. The staff (hosts and servers) were actually very pleasant. But our reservation was at 1pm, and WE WERE NOT SAT UNTIL 2:55pm!! A TWO HOUR WAIT!! In what universe is that okay? They sat another large table before us, I'm guessing because it was a table full of actors from a known show. I'm pregnant, and I'm waiting 2 hours to eat. I started to get dizzy and nauseous from the hunger, and had to order an appetizer just to hold myself over because who knew when we were going to get our table. THE OWNER: The most unprofessional business owner I have ever laid eyes on. First of all, unbeknownst to me and my group, this guy walks around filming all of the girls who eat there in an inappropriate manner, and posts it on the company Instagram story. He zooms in on cleavage, ass, and most of all, FEET. It is so weird and bizarre. Additionally, he came over to our table to lecture and confront one of our girls, because she ordered something that was technically not on the menu. Just a different combo from what was listed. All the server had to do was come out and say they either could not do it, or that they would make an exception since we had to WAIT TWO HOURS. He was cussing at her. A paying customer. Talking about "he has 25 years of experience" as a chef and adamant that he cannot and will not change his menu for anyone. We were all in shock in how he was towering over her, talking down to her in that manner. I almost thought it was some kind of joke. But he was dead serious. As a woman, and as a person with common sense, I will NEVER come back. Save your money and your time, and stay away!

Yelp
Service was on point. Food was delicious. Whole place and staff was a vibe. We went for Brunch on a Sunday.

Yelp
The service was TOP TIER! The hostess reached out to me to confirm my reservation and he even sent a text to validate which is outstanding. When you walk in, you feel the vibes from the kitchen with the aromas, the beautiful ambiance and the layout is a festival for the eyes to see. Our waitress was the GREATEST, just full of beauty and joy. Now the food, a set menu and might say the best combo of protein and waffle "Catfish & Waffle". My partners "shrimp & grits" was delightful as well! I ate every bit and left nothing on the plate. The owner/chef came out and greeted us before it got really busy! 10/10 SUPERB DTLA CUISINE that I will make sure last forever!

Yelp
Don't let the name throw you off...it's a real vibe, even for men (mostly on date night). The owner/chef is really nice and often interacts with the guests. The ambiance is very nice and food is delicious! Great date night or even intimate party spot!

Yelp
I want to start with the customer service was good. The staff were all sweet. However, the food was a disappointment. First thing, they don't serve coffee and there are no eggs on the brunch menu which was rather strange. They boast about the shrimp and grits which is more like shrimp and brown gravy, it tasted more like a poor attempt at gumbo over grits. I also ordered the crab cakes which looked liked two russet potatoes,I kid you not. When the waitress brought them over the first thing I did was knock on them with a knife, on a good note it was real crab meat...with an abundance of filler/breading. I ordered a blueberry mimosa under the exotic mimosas section that I assumed was muddled blueberries in champagne however it was more of a blueberry simply lemonade like drink with well champagne which came out with whip cream and blue sugar sprinkle??? If the menu was more descriptive maybe I'd ordered something different. However you simply get the name of the item, the menu gives the most lackluster description of the food ,you aren't really sure what all the dish entails. We were going to order the chicken and waffles but they only serve thighs!!!! No wings, no breast...for real though who eats thighs when you go out to a restaurant? I was excited to support a black business but I won't be returning the music is extremely loud, the space is small. The items are overpriced I'm talking $16 for a mimosa that is obviously made from well Champagne and is mostly sugar juice and whip cream. And they have the nerve to automatically add gratuity. I would not recommend this place if you are a person who has an intricate and well versed food pallet nor if you want to enjoy a conversation with your people as the music is club level loud. I was really looking forward to trying this place out and after spending approximately 46 minutes inside and $154 (as we didn't complain or ask to have the meal taken off the bill) we found ourselves on the way to another restaurant as we not nourished or fulfilled in any capacity.

Yelp
Not sure exactly where I need to start, but I'm pretty sure the video will speak for itself. Alabama is definitely in the house in Los Angeles . The pink teacup is my new go to soul Food spot make your reservations because they don't do walk-ins they do sometimes but I really highly recommend you make a reservation. Vibe is really cute and the music is on point and the customer service is next level. Thank you Chef Lawrence, Brandon and Roy for having such a well oiled machine providing such excellent customer service and hospitality. I am so proud of you guys and I was very impressed with everything that you guys accomplished executing the perfect first impression. I can only give you a five star but in my book you guys deserve a whole 10. Congratulations and keep up to good work. Cheers to your success at your amazing new location serving those delicious dishes that I will definitely be trying with friends and family.

Yelp
We were headed to a different restaurant when The scent of delicious food wafting in the air stopped us in our tracks. The space was intimate and quaint. If it weren't for the loud music, it would be an excellent place for cocktails and conversation. The food was terrific! The catfish was exceptional and the baked beans were my favorite. They don't have a full bar but make creative cocktails using soju. The place is pricey, as is everywhere else these days. The 18% tip was automatically added to our bill, which for our party of two was a bit odd. The service was good so I didn't argue, but would have if needed. I will 100% return to this lovely place!

Yelp
If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Just happened upon this place one day after an event and it was amazing! The atmosphere is relaxing. The food is 10 stars - the staff amazing! Black owned. Run, don't walk!

Yelp
Beautiful inside. Great customer service and staff. Food and drinks were delicious. Brunch was nice, music was nice. Very attentive

Yelp
awfully ran by a rude and extremely unprofessional "chef" very predatory like . I worked here for a few months to then be fired at Radom because of my " availability " when during the interview my availability was not a problem. the owner Lawrence talked down to me , yelled and on multiple occasions called me a " nigga" "ghettto" and "hood" when I represent nothing of that sort. He would do it in front of his girlfriend (the lead server) to try to embarrass me or make her feel good , but would offer glasses of wine and conversation when she wasnt around .Also because my prior job was with his competitors ( another black owned restaurant bar in Hollywood with a bad reputation) . He left a very bad taste in my mouth for black owned businesses. I will never support another one after that unfortunately.

Yelp
I am a huge foodie with a love for ambiance. Nothing they served or decorated could mask the horrible service they gave my party of 12 this weekend. We had a reservation for 1 and they didn't seat us until almost 3! The host served us a glass of champagne to hold us over but really ridiculous how long the wait was. When they sat us they still didn't even put enough seats for the entire party. The chef was consistently coming out of the kitchen with a mic hyping up tables which would have been okay they were timely with their food. It made it so awkward watching him touch and dance with women then go back to the kitchen. I ended up leaving before the food came out because I was starving. Really unfortunate because I want to support black owned businesses but never like this!

Yelp
We came on a Saturday morning. No one was there but still waited on as if they were 'busy'. I had high hope for the food but it was honestly "so-so" and the biscuit was interestingly flavored ( & not in a good way). The owner came out after our entrees was served with a camera man which was kinda strange because we didn't sign a waiver and owner said "don't mind him, he's recording for my show. Again, we didn't give our consent and thought it was strange/unprofessional as we were only ones there.

Yelp
Great Staff & Great Service. Very nice Ambiance. Food was mediocre. Granted we only ordered appetizers. The Crab Cakes had good flavor but was mushy & tasted like the shells were still in there. The Chicken Wings was a NO. The sauce was not good. We ordered 2 Mock-tails. I had blueberry & it was sour. My girl had watermelon. That was really good.

Yelp
I just went for a brunch date and it was awesome! The holy trinity shrimp and grits and the lavender mimosa were my favorite! Service was great. I'll definitely be back

Yelp
When we walked up there was no host at the podium. We stood there for a good minute before being greeted. They initially sat us next to a blaring speak with very vulgar music. Since we couldn't even hear ourselves talk we asked do be sat in the main dining room away from the speaker. We stood in the main dining room until they cleaned off the table. The owner came out a lot with his phone in everyone's face recording without even asking and posted the videos on his instagram story. The food was over priced example the crab cakes were $22 for two and the crab cake were so small it fit in the dipping sauce cup. Everything is à la cart. The food was good just over priced for what you actually receive. The icing on the cake was our bill came out to be $350 for 4 people the waiter "attempted" to charge the card right at the table but said it didn't work and would try it in the back. Took awhile so I checked my bank anpp and she charged my card for $471. When this was noticed she said it charged me twice "lie" then she offered to pay the $120 back through zelle or in cash from her tips. Spoke to the owner and he cussed and fussed said he would get it fixed. This happened Saturday and no word from the owner as of today Tuesday even though I left all of my information. Locked my card. Reported it. And ordered a replacement card. Will never return.

Yelp
The food is fresh and flavorful and the service is amazing. Drinks are plentiful and we highly recommend the blueberry pie mimosas. The ambiance is really sweet and stylish and 'insta' worthy.

Yelp
Amazing food. Amazing service. Our waitress J was great as well. The Chef came out and spoke which was really nice. Our new favorite brunch spot. Coming back for dinner!

Yelp
From the moment you walk in you feel you're transported to another place. A really enchanting happy place. I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was tender full of flavor, rich spices paired with a buttery perfectly crisp waffle. The prickly pear Sangria was delicious. The music playing was a good vibe. You are left feeling delighted and satisfied.

Yelp
Good food, service, and ambiance! The chef came and made sure our food was delicious and the server was incredibly nice! We had the gumbo, Mac and cheese, and chicken and waffles and would absolutely recommend this place!

Yelp
If I could give a negative 1 I would. I stood in the front waiting to be seated for over 10min. There was no hostess and the waiter walked past us numerous times and didn't acknowledge us AT ALL. So after being ignored we left.

Yelp
Save your money. Spent 40$ on 2 sugary drinks that gave us headaches. 20$ on a plate of 2 tiny crab cakes. Gratuity is included. Spent 80$ for wack drinks and barely food. Server was nice tho

Yelp
I wanted to love it, but will never go back. The food was only decent. And the service was horrendous. The music was blasting a decibel below insanity with the n-word and other profane descriptions of the human anatomy - which aren't preferred when struggling through the oddly flavored and hard biscuits. The food trickled out. Biscuits - with no butter or jam. Had to ask. Eggs - with no protein. Just the eggs and biscuits on the table for ten mins. Can we have hot sauce? Then, came some waffles. Okay. Syrup? It felt like a game. Everything had to be requested. Finally 15 - yes, 15 minutes - after the eggs were dropped, here comes catfish. A short time after that comes the chicken. The waffles are now cold. As are the eggs. The dishes came out for our party family style - but with no serving spoons. A request was made. Two minutes. Five minutes. Can we get serving spoons before the food gets cold? Alas, we used personal utensils to try to scoop the watery grits with shrimp. On top of all of this, we were being filmed the whole time. Without consent. Photographed by the "manager" on his iPhone. When we inquired about this, we were told that it was "personal" and "not going anywhere." It better not. We searched for public declarations of filming upon entry and found none prominently displayed. Overall, the place felt like a set up for a show maybe? Were they recording the reaction on the face of the elegant elderly woman and her family who'd just come from church that Sunday to be bombarded with the most crass music they could find? Maybe so. The vibe could have been lovely with clean hip hop and great R&B playing over a beautiful soulfood brunch. What we got was blaring profanity over a subpar meal, with inadequate service. When we asked for the person in charge, the "chef" came out with a major attitude and told us he did everything right. He meant for the chicken to come out 15 minutes after the waffles. That was how he "planned it." That he had cooked for Denzel and stars all over. Chile, Denzel ain't here and we want our chicken and waffles together, a serving spoon for the Mac and Cheese and the music not to scream at us about what part of the genitals needs to be popped. Deep sigh. Enter at your own risk.

Yelp
the worst!! the food was mid and the service was worse than the food!! they had my cousins entire party waiting for over 40 minutes. when a table finally became available no one escorted us. Then the next party arrived shortly after we arrived and they may have waited 2 minutes the chef had the audacity to announce on the mic he didn't want to keep them waiting and offered their entire party champagne without offering my cousin and her party even a water to share while they waited outside for over 40 minutes. To top it all off they kicked our table out saying they needed it for another party when there were other parties there way longer than us. The food was below mid the only thing good about this experience was the company.

Yelp
I came for brunch and was immediately welcomed with a warm greeting. The place has a cool vibe to it, and the staff was extremely nice. I had the chicken and waffles which were very well seasoned and tender. The chef brought out an additional small plate of watermelon because he didn't feel like there was enough on the plating, so that was another nice touch. The lavender mimosa is a problem! It's too good, so be careful. Overall 5 stars!

Yelp
Came for brunch and had an amazing meal. The whole staff is super friendly. Even got a visit from the chef. The decor is like a fairytale garden, very cute. Chill music setting the mood. Prickly pear sangria was rich and sweet, very flavorful. The grits were creamy and smooth, also full of flavor with the shrimp and peppers. And the highlight was the biscuit. Light, flakey, buttery, with a delicately balanced honey drizzle. Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
I am one of the biggest supporters for black owned businesses but I have to advise that if you're thinking of coming here don't! Just don't! I want to say that this review DOES NOT APPLY TO THE SERVER WE HAD! He was AMAZING! But he will catch this stray bullet by being employed there! First off the prices are WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for the food quality! The food was not good! It took FOREVER to bring my food out. Everyone else at the table had already been eating a while and NO ONE liked their food! Second he is ripping people off charging $75 PER PERSON for bottomless mimosas!! The lavender mimosa tasted good but definitely NOT WORTH $75!!!! The vibe is cool and the decorations are nice. Our bill was messed up but was resolved by the wonderful server! I spoke with the manager and let him know I wasn't being negative but wanted to offer him so advice in lowering his prices and his response to me was his rent is $40,000 a month!!! He said he is booked up for the next six months! Way too COCKY for that nasty food. His nasty attitude matched his nasty food! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE! There are way better and way more affordable brunch spots!!! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!
