"Michael Mina and Ken Tominaga’s casual downtown ramen restaurant is not just for lunchtime noodle slurping: Between the generous hours of 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, it’s also the spot for $4 post-work sake bombs, $1 High Life, and $5 bites like Pabu country ribs (Berkshire pork, red chili, kewpie and sesame) and chicken karaage." - Ellen Fort, Caleb Pershan

"No one expected empire builder Michael Mina to stay out of the fast casual trend. Enter: Ramen Bar. The Financial District spot always has a line out the door on weekdays during lunch for worker bees to grab a hearty bowl of unorthodox ramen soups such as shrimp & crab, ginger chicken and mushroom & soy. There are also some of the traditional variety — hokkaido and shoyu tonkotso — as well as rice and noodle bowls, sandwiches and salads. The best trick of all is to order online and head straight to the front of the line upon arrival." - Stefanie Tuder, Ellen Fort, Caleb Pershan

They have great happy hour specials: chicken kaarage, wings and baos are all $5. Tried the spicy miso and shoyu ramen and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The egg is so good I wanted to order another one. Save room for dessert and try the wasabi pea rice crispie treat

I ordered the Tokyo Shoyu Ramen and it was delivered in less than 10 minutes. The presentation of it was nothing less than what I have typically come to expect from ramen eateries, with the ingredients arranged neatly and methodically. The broth was rich and tasty and the meat was absolutely delicious! The only reason why I give it 4 stars is because the noodles itself were just okay. I like my ramen noodles to be a little firmer and just a tad thicker. The restaurant operates like a fast food joint with elegance. You wait in line, order your food, pay, and then find a place to sit. The interior is beautifully designed with plenty of seating and if the weather is beautiful, there is outdoor seating. Each table also had Japanese pepper, a chili paste, and some seasoning available - all which complemented my meal nicely. Overall, this is a great place to have lunch in the city and I would definitely come back!

Very corporate inauthentic place. This is way too pricy for the quality and portion size. Udon broth tastes like blend hot water. Hokkaido broth was ok but added chicken was low quality dark meat. We are not coming back.

Serviceable ramen. If you’ve had anything close to “authentic” ramen, you’ll likely be disappointed. Tried both tonkatsu and Tokyo-style ramens. Both lacked unctuousness and depth. But twist my arm, make me come back, I’d pick tonkatsu over Tokyo. Tokyo was both bland and salty at the same time. Tonkatsu had some pork flavor, but no lip-sticking gelatin-y goodness. Both came with two decent pieces of chasu pork and springy, pretty tasty ramen noodles, so not all is bleak. Service was kinda abysmal. Our gyoza (only 5 to an order) came but we weren’t given plates. Dirty dishes were not cleared. Attitude was generally apathetic. Space is large and somewhat cavernous. Good for group. Beer, sake, and limited liquors available.

Good ramen soup, I took with pork Tokyo ramen for 14$ plus tips. 3 stars because in 2018 you cannot have bar for hipsters WITHOUT internet! In the middle of downtown!

So freaking good!!! The lychee tea is so sweet and refreshing, and the salmon poke bowl is amazing. It is a decent portion and fresh ingredients 🤤

This is pretty much the Chipotle of ramen. It is not bad, but not exceptional. Much better than the cheapo ramen you get at sushi restaurant, but not as high quality as places like izakaya Souza. The flavors are ok, a bit rich for me. Portions are good for the price. Not really a long wait, almost always get a seat at the bar.

The food was excellent a bit overpriced but it's at Sf standards for pricing. Overall a great dish, and a good place to have a date or to have lunch at. They also serve takeout and have Ramon drinks!
