The Rose - Review - Edwards - Vail - The Infatuation

"You’ll always find locals at The Rose for lunch, Happy Hour, or before catching a movie at the Riverwalk Theater. And you should join them to celebrate all the powder turns you enjoyed before that après-ski food and drink craving kicked in. Go for the avocado fries with soy aioli, a plate of elote-style vegetables, and a rich bowl of ramen with a miso bone broth. It’s worth ordering a Paper Plane cocktail, since this one actually comes with your very own paper plane as a non-edible but fully flyable garnish." - Kim Fuller

Where To Eat and Drink in the Mountains This Ski Season | Eater Denver

"Restaurateurs often worry about waning interest after the five year mark. But The Rose in Edwards, which opened in 2013, has fought such fatigue by expanding on their fifth birthday to bring even more delicious baked goods, craft cocktails, and healthy, sustainably-sourced and affordable meals to locals and visitors alike. Think buffalo cauliflower, beef barbacoa tacos, and homemade ramen bowls in a super-hip atmosphere." - Rebecca Treon

My friend chose The Rose to celebrate her birthday and we had a blast, we were taken care by Lily I think it was her name, she was the best server (most of us work in the service industry) we appreciate her, amazing service and patience, cocktails were sooooo good, I had the pisco flower and the one with fernet, our table was mixed with people from Peru, Argentina, Mexico, Costa Rica, Chile, Colombian, Dominican and US and we ALL loved everything! The food was amazing, the pork belly piggie smalls was the star for sure, I had the tuna poke bowl and loved it and tried the ramen and was so good. As locals we will come back and recommend this place to everyone! The place is very nicely decorated as well, the only little thing is that you do leave smelling like food maybe the fan in the kitchen is not very powerful? But its still worth it to go. Thank you!

This was my fiancé and I first time traveling to Pagosa Springs and The Rose DID NOT disappoint. This was my fav restaurant out of the 5 days we were there. So good, I had to stop by and get a Togo order right before leaving for my flight! My favorite thing that I got was the Chx Bacon Wrap. Everything was fresh, tasty, and very well seasoned!! Staff was attentive and quick!! My husband loved their pozole and their omelet! If you haven’t tried this place, it needs to be a must!!! Cannot wait to be back for more!!

If you choose to eat here, be sure and confirm the pricing with the waitstaff. This is the second time I've had issues with the prices on the menu. An Arnold Parker was $10 PER DRINK - no free refills and the waitress didn't mention it when I asked for a refill (I would have ordered tea if I knew the AP was going to be $10!). And, $2 was added to each item I ordered gluten free without any mention being made of this up charge by the waitress or on the menu. I'm a local and LOVE the avocado fries, but I won't be back. I love supporting our local places, but they've got to be honest and upfront about their pricing.

Google
Really “cool” food. Ramen bowel was amazing. Beet salad, Korean fried chicken wings and rose salad all were amazing. This food would stand out anywhere!

Google
Casual, great vegan options. Some things need to be modified to be plant based but everything we had was really tasty. Reasonably priced. Good vegan option in the Vail area

Google
Very disappointed I didn’t check the cake before I left the store. The top didn’t set and it was so runny. This is usually a delicious cake so I decided to get it for my mom’s birthday. If I wasn’t desperate for a cake I would have taken it back. For it being $73 you would expect it to be perfect. I reached out to the owner and they didn’t have the decency to call back and at least apologize. Please check your cakes before you leave the store.

While on the road to Denver we found this place in google. Man, it is awesome! Food is served in small plates to share and is super fresh. This place had great food, service, music and environment!! Highly recommended!

Google
Food was delicious. Pricing was very reasonable for a ski resort area. And customer service was excellent. The kids had the ramen which was delicious. And my salad with park belly was really good. Will definitely come back again. Heads up: Signage is tough to see (signage is pretty small + dark color on a dark background) so plan on arriving early. Was told parking would be tough but we found lots of parking spaces available for our 7:30pm reservation.

Yelp
Love their Buddha bowl and salad with the corn bread bites! Fried chicken is also incredible!

Yelp
Last Sunday we tried The Rose for the first time. The interior is quite cute with an exposed wood ceiling and walls cladded in artwork (some looked professional and others hand drawn / painted). When we first arrived for our reservation at 7:30pm, the place was packed and it could be a little hard to hear my fiancé from across the table, but nothing awful. As the evening went on and people left, it became easier to hear one another and the music. The music was good and didn't overtake the restaurant. The service and food is quite good. After we ordered the food came swooping in one after another. The dish that was the start of the show was the Pappardelle Bolognese pasta. First of all, I regret getting this dish to share. Next time I will order it for myself lol Secondly, I could eat this all day, everyday. The sauce is super yummy and all the ingredients mesh so well together. The pizza is also good, but the showstopper was definitely the pasta. I'd love to try their other pasta dishes and see if they are just as magical.

Yelp
Had lunch at The Rose today. Fantastic service! Tasty food! Try the avocado fries! We will be back...

Yelp
We walked into this small, upscale casual restaurant right before the kitchen closed. It took a few minutes to get seated. We opted to sit inside (instead of the outdoor patio that has a view of the parking lot). The food and cocktail menu was unique Asian Mexican fusion. We ordered the: *Yuzu One For Me - green tea vodka, yuzu, grapefruit mint *Red Harvest - gin, red pepper, mint, chili, lime *Rose Ramen - miso bone broth, pork belly, soft boiled egg*, basil, ginger, scallion, sriracha *Taco Platter - 4 tacos (chose 2 ahi & 2 pork belly) All the portions were very small so if you have a bigger appetite, you should order an appetizer. Ample parking. Staff wasn't very friendly (but they might have been in a hurry to get us to leave since we were the last patrons in there). In a quaint plaza called the Riverwalk. Lots of cute shops, eateries, and a 2 screen movie theater that has a surprisingly large food menu.

Yelp
Good vibe - outdoor and indoor seatings (dogs allowed on patio) - KFC was good, it did not last long! Ramen was miso based and good tuna poke bowl was my favorite! All food went quickly - too quick for photos!

Yelp
Let me tell you the truth folks! Been coming to these beautiful mountains my whole life and this place is a hidden gemstone. Wait until you tray the cocktails for crying aloud. This guy Dave behind the bar has been watching Tom Cruise in "cocktails" for years. No glitz no glam but hot damn do these cocktails slam! I had the ramenArski for dinner and it was spectacular! Had some congestion before the mail and it cleaned me up nice and tite? The spice was nice! Don't sleep on the avocado fries because boy that was a delicious starter. Try the ROSE it's smarter

Yelp
Small place but very friendly! Our first visit because we go to the same places out of habit! We both ordered the specials Appetizer egg rolls that were fantastic! Non greasy and an explosion of flavor! Next the KFC fried chicken tacos! Wow they did not disappoint! Great food and we will return to try other menu items! Don't miss out this place is awesome!!

Yelp
We saw it recommended as a place to check out after reading an article about the best dining in the mountains in Imbibe Magazine. Walking in, the space is hip and reminds me of something that you'd find in South America. Now the food, it was amazing! We started with the shishito peppers. The drizzle worked amazingly on the scorched peppers 5/5. Next up were the KFC wings. The pickled celery was amazing and had me looking up how to pickle celery. Quite good 5/5! We split the Ramen for our main course. It was really good, one of the best bowls of ramen that I've had in Colorado 5/5. Overall an amazing place that will be a mainstay when we're skiing or hiking. The service was quick and helpful in deciding highlights that we needed to hit.

Yelp
The food here is great, and it is very healthy. The cocktails are incredible. This is why you come to a restaurant.. However, our experience with the staff left something to be desired. We made reservations and we were told that the table was still full after a 2.5 hour visit and having closed out. The staff asked us to wait 10 minutes, and only after some prodding did they request the table to close things up. The waiter did not give very clear instructions on what was included with the tacos. He told us that you could get two, one option per taco, but then those who had ordered it received four- one of each option. We did not see our waiter much during the meal so while many of us would have liked a second cocktail we weren't able to put in an order to do so before the bill arrived. All of this can be fixed with training, so I remain optimistic about The Rose and would like to return in the future.

Yelp
We loved the food, the quaint atmosphere and the service. It was also during our mini-honeymoon and it's our last name. So so cute, we even bought one of their cups.

Bradley B.

Yelp
Food (Buddha bowl and ?) and service was good. Not a busy night / end of season. We would go back
google avatar

Yelp
The menu looking intriguing so we decided to try this restaurant. The service was friendly, nice and prompt. Unfortunately, the food was less than desired. We ordered the Bahn mi sandwich (2 orders) and the bread was super chewy and the meat was super dry. The side of fries were good but overall the dish was super disappointing. The verdict on the fried chicken was that it was too greasy and sweet. The cocktails were on point but the food left a lot to be desired.

Sarah M.

Yelp
Prices were reasonable and service was pretty quick. We enjoyed the piggie smalls (aka pork belly). The Banh Mi Sammy was delicious and my husband said the fried chicken tacos (special) were good too. The Spicy Hibiscus Marg was refreshing and tasty. Definitely stop by.

Yelp
The rose is a great spot in Edwards! I love this restaurant so much! It's a hard pick between main st and the rose because no one else can compare to these two! Their space is beautifully decorated, wonderful friendly service and tasty desserts. Every cocktail I've had here has always been tasty and tempting. The ramen is a favorite but the rose salad is also a classic. You can't go wrong here. Don't forget to check out their NYE offerings! Always a blast here
google avatar

Yelp
Didn't have any food, so I can't review based on food. Drinks were good and pretty unique. We tried several of the prohibition style drinks. The Pisco Sour was refreshing and light, and Mexican Mistress was good but needed a splash more Mezcal to add more smoke flavor. The food menu seemed pretty unique across the board, and not really sure they vibe/ethnicity they're going for in a restaurant. Would definitely try their food next time to get a better sense. They were all out of deserts when we arrived so we could share deserts and drinks like we had planned. Service was prompt, and the gentleman who waited on us was fun and never made us feel rushed.

Yelp
Lovely cocktails and a well rounded menu including options for vegans and vegetarians. A rarity in the Valley! The staff are always kind and welcoming.

Yelp
We were going to eat dinner here, but their menu is just a little different. We were two couples and our husbands weren't into the food they served. I saw other people get food delivered, and it looked like it was absolutely delicious. We opted for drinks and their drinks were outstanding, and I don't say that very often.

Cobert C.

Yelp
Looked on Yelp for a good place to eat. The Rose was close, had some good reviews, and some bad ones. Most of the negative reviews were regarding poor service. A few were negative about the food. But enough positive reviews to warrant a visit. And the menu did look good. So I went. I walked in, was asked if I would prefer the bar , or a table, I said a table. I was seated and given a menu. Not much conversation from the wait staff. I ordered a Buddha bowl and water. The waiter came back with my food and put it on the table while answering a question from someone else in the room. Didn't even make eye contact with me. Just put the food on the table and walked away. No, "is there anything else I can get you?", or " does this look alright?". No engagement at all. I see why the poor reviews about service. Oh well, this seems to be new normal for casual dining, unfortunately. I just didn't really feel welcome there. Oh the Buddha bowl was pretty good, a little dry, but pretty good. I would probably go back and try this place again.

Yelp
With most options that I would dine at in Avon exhausted, it was time to venture out to Edwards. I found The Rose on Yelp and was very excited to check them out. The restaurant is located in the heart of the Riverwalk at Edwards shopping center. At first the restaurant appears inconsiderable, especially with COVID seating limitations; however, there's an adjacent dining area accessed through a brick pathway. It's quite lovely with the exposed brick walls and hanging lights throughout. The staff is outstanding in all aspects that matter, very attentive most of all. We came early enough to take advantage of the happy hour menu (drink only) and a perfect table at the window. We ordered the Mexican Mule and the Whiskey Tingle; the mule was my favorite. The Whiskey Tingle was on the bitter side and the whiskey was indiscernible. From their main menu, we begun with the Beet Salad, which was fantastic. The beets weren't earthy and the citrus vinaigrette and goat cheese were a perfect match. For my main, I ordered the Lamb Barbacoa Tacos, which were properly named with the the lamb tender that was obviously slowly cooked. My wife had the Banh Mi Sammy, that was delicious. The meat was a little dry, but the basil aioli, soy and sriracha sauces came to the rescue. The atmosphere, service and the food all came together in perfect harmony, so I can't wait to return and explore the rest of the menu.

Trista M.

Yelp
Delicious food and great atmosphere. The service was fantastic and we will definitely be back!!

Yelp
Great little dive. Good food and ambiance. Service was good and definitely be back as I am a local.

Yelp
This food is awesome!!!!!! It's a small restaurant but don't be fooled that this is small town diner. No! This place is a gem of a find. Explosion of flavor. You can't get enough of the vegetables. They make healthy food taste delicious. One heck of a chef. Staff was great.

Yelp
As I ride up the last chairlift of the day at Bachelors Gulch the guilt of not booking a reservation for 10 forced me to do a quick Google search I called 2 other restaurants that laughed me off the phone after hearing my tardy request for that evening. On the other hand, a sweet lady at The Rose went out of her way to contact another party to confirm their reservation, she called me right back and said that with a CC I could book the reservation. We made it in time and we're pleasantly surprised by the quaint Edwards Town Square and looked forward to waking off our meal and finishing with a snowball fight. We entered and loved the classy, kitchey - artistic but not trying to hard vibe, The food was good overall... however we had several mixups with our order including serving our little kids spicy ramen and tears. We were grateful none the less and had a pleasant evening and a phenomenal snowball fight outside afterwards. We will be back when we are in Avon/Vail.

Yelp
Quirky, fun place. Went for lunch. beer and wine selections are great. Wings were a hit. Had tacos - tuna, crispy pork and fried chicken - mammoth portions and great taste with fab accompanying sauces. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
I love the decor! But the food is even better. Have tried many of the items on the menu. All are great but the bahn mi is the best.

Travis G.

Yelp
Dinner was amazing and the staff was super helpful. We got fried chicken, cauliflower, avocado fries, ramen, tacos, and the bahnmi sandwich as a family. Everything was excellent! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic food and service - Buddha bowl and poke bowl were fan faves! Note there is only one bathroom for everyone so you may have to get strategic:-)

Yelp
We were driving to Denver and were looking for a good, healthy place to dine. This recommendation popped up on Yelp. The location was inviting and the food selection was delicious. We started with the Avocado French Fries with a creamy soy aioli. OMG. For entrees we had the Poke Bowl, Buddha Bowl and Crispy Pork Tacos. Each and everyone was so good! Service was also great. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
In town for early season skiing at Beaver Creek. The Rose is in Edwards, 3 miles down 70 from main AEdward's, it was more than worth short trip. Food, service, and atmosphere are excellent! Make the drive and enjoy a great place!
google avatar

Bev C.

Yelp
Spends a few days in Beaver Creek we decided to head to the Rose for dinner. It was a perfect choice. The atmosphere, the waitress, the food, it could not have been more perfect. We started with appetizers: fried cauliflower, fried avocado, and Brussel sprouts - so good we ordered more! I had the Banh Mi. Wonderful spice and served on fresh Italian bread. My husband got the wings. They had great flavor but not as wet as he would have liked. Two of the bowls were perfect for our son and DIL. Our grandson got crispy pork tacos. They looked so good I stole a bite! Buttered noodles for the granddaughter. Great dish for a kid! All the flavors were 5 star and the wings would have been 5 star for me.

Lucha E.

Yelp
Amazing food and great drinks! Must try if in town. We will be back again next time weee in town!
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely an amazing meal. We weren't sure what we were in the mood for in the Vail area and stumbled across this gorgeous little spot. The ramen is probably the best we've ever had. I got the chicken curry ramen and hubbies got the rose (pork) ramen. Highly recommend seeking The Rose out. Worth the drive from Vail Village too!

Paul R.

Yelp
Visiting Vail but found ourselves in Edwards looking for a place to eat. Using Yelp as a reference we found The Rose. What a great find. At our table we got a Buddha Bowl, a Ramen and Bahn Mi. All three were amazing. The restaurant itself is small but great decor with high ceilings. Also the cocktails were craft as so far the best we have found in Colorado. It will be hard to top this dining experience. Oh, did I mention the staff was superb? Trust me it is well worth a ride to Edwards. Hey, my drink came with a paper airplane and mini clothespin, what could be better?
google avatar

Chase S.

Yelp
Really enjoyed our experience at this ultra-hip modern restaurant and bar. Make sure you get a reservation on peak times (6-8pm) Atmosphere: think art warehouse overtaken by Anthropologie. Lots of exposed brick, vertical succulent art, leather couches, reclaimed wood -- but all done very well. The layout could be better adjusted to removal of the small game in the back room and moving the large back room table to the wall. It's awkward to get around (wine tasting going on there during our visit?) but that's my only complaint. It's a little dark and brooding in the front restaurant and bright with big windows in the back. Service: Attentive with good menu explanations and opinions by our waitress. The hostess was very accommodating with our infant in her car seat. They sat us in the back lounge area while we waited for our table to open up. We ended up asking to stay there since it was comfortable and a good space. Food: Refreshing and pleasantly surprising. All the dishes where colorful and vibrant with great playing appearance. The food was all fresh and high quality. We had the typical appetizers people highly recommended and were not disappointed--fried chicken (yes please), avocado fries with soy aioli (I could live on those alone), and buffalo cauliflower (Better than the average bear). The beet salad was great. The impossible burger was done impossibly well. The pork ramen was a revelation: lots of pork belly, delicious bone miso broth, al dente noodles, amble avocado (it works!) and accoutrements--not too over the top and Americanized despite the description and look. The seat ahi tacos rocked. Drinks: good selection of wine and beer. Cocktail list was interesting and packed a punch. Nice delicate balance of boozy and flavor depth. The tequila cocktails are my best recommendation. Price: Standard for the Edward nice dining crowd but you get a lot more quality and fun for your experience here. I'll definitely be coming here each and every time we ski.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to eat in the valley. Great spicy ramen and appetizers for days .

Veronica A.

Yelp
My husband and I just left here and I have to say we could not be happier! The ambiance is so cozy, we just loved the decor but more importantly we were greeted with so much warmth from the staff who were just lovely the whole time. My husband doesn't drink and we're pretty used to people either giving him a look or saying his only options are coke or water but the bartender didn't flinch and just created him a delightful mocktail. The food was exceptional, our glasses were never empty and we felt right at home.

Mark W.

Yelp
Daniel was so kind and attentive. The Ramon with pork belly is amazing - paired with the deep fried avocado and Menabrea Italian lager. Perfection!
google avatar

Stella W.

Yelp
Everything ordered at our table of four was great. We loved the buffalo cauliflower which had very light tempura fry with the best buffalo sauce I've had anywhere. The salads were also excellent. Although the waitstaff and bartender did not seem very knowledgeable about their cocktails, the drinks we received were as delicious as they looked online. Overall, we were super pleased with our lunch.

Jake B.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Every dish was amazing. Service was impeccable. Must try the avocado fries. Hands down best cheesecake we've ever had. 10/10
google avatar

Sarah V.

Yelp
Great place with great food. Nice variety of drinks too. Really liked the atmosphere
google avatar

Kate O.

Yelp
Very delicious food with quite a few vegetarian and vegan options. The Buddha bowl and avocado fries were great. Loved the décor as well, and the restaurant wasn't super loud especially given how cozy the front room is. Was told there would be a ten minute wait and probably didn't even wait five minutes to be seated. The food came out fairly quick as well.

Honey C.

Yelp
The food is fantastic! If you are looking for a cozy small place special for a date or a friends night out this is the place, beautiful cocktail designs and as I said before the food is delicious. The manu is pretty small but with a good variety so everyone can find an option. I celebrated my wedding with a family luncheon at The rose and all the staff me possible that we had a great experience. Beet salad, Buddha bowl and avocado fries my favorites!!!!
google avatar

Jennifer A.

Yelp
Love the food and ambiance. Last visit they wouldn't except the gift card we had pre COVID. Which was why we picked them for dinner.

Yelp
My friends and I love coming here now and their Buffalo cauliflower is delicious! And with the new manager there the servers are incredibly friendly (unlike before) and are super attendant. ---- Mis amigas y yo nos encanta venir aquí sobre por los buffalo coliflower son deliciosos, y con el nuevo manager los meseros son muy amables y muy atentos

Yelp
Wow. Wonderful good. Skips the hotels and enjoy The Rose. We had fried avocados, Buddha bowl, and ramen with cookies to go. Flavoring on each was spot on. Felt healthy too!

Yelp
The staff here.is friendly and the food is served fast. I am obsessed with the rose ramen! It's a beautiful restaurant with great drinks as well!

Yelp
WHO KNEW HEALTHY COULD BE SO GOOD!? Such unique, fresh, and healthy options. I had an impossible burger, and it was amazing. The service was a little laid back, but very good. The food was so unique and fresh, and came out in a timely manner.

Yelp
This is a beautiful, small, and perfect dinner spot to take a date. I came here for dinner with my family while we were in vacation in Vail. This place peaked our interest in scrumptious looking desserts and a tasty looking menu. The ambiance is a Good combo of rustic but modern. My eyes couldn't stop stair at their gorgeous light fixtures that look like bid dandelions. They also have a good selection of beers and spirits. We ended up trying out a variety of things from their menu. We started off with their avocado fries which in my opinion need to be ordered every time you go there. I had no idea what I was missing my whole life fried avocados were most definitely my favorite part of dinner except for dessert of course. My mom ordered the beet salad with seared ahi on top which looked almost to beautiful to eat. My brother ordered the beef tacos which looked absolutely scrumptious and smelled so good. I ordered their banh mi, which was deliciously cooked pork with slaw on a baguette. It was such a satisfying dish that hits the spot just right. For dessert, we ordered cheese cake with strawberry jam on top and we also ordered a delicious chocolate cake. This is definitely a spot I would recommend to everyone to try at least once.
