We stopped in for a comedy show. Had dinner and drinks. The first drink was strong. Then I was made a lemon drop ....... nice. We order fish and chips. We shared it was so much food. I had my own fries they were good.

Google
Absolutely Looooove this place! They are suitable for a quick bite or dinner. They even have music on Fridays and Saturdays if you like to dance. It gets pretty crowded so I would suggest arriving before 9pm.

Google
Royal Blue has a fun, lively vibe and is a solid spot if you're looking to mingle and enjoy a night out. The scene is energetic, and it's easy to strike up a conversation or just people-watch while you sip your drink. The service stands out, the ladies behind the bar are friendly, attentive, and super helpful. We also appreciated that the menu includes vegan options, which isn’t always a given at places like this. The only downside was the music, it could use a refresh or more variety to match the upbeat energy of the crowd. Overall, it’s a cool place and worth checking out if you're in the area.

Google
Went with coworkers. Heard of its amazing food. They weren't lying. My smash burger was excellent. I savored every moment eating it, along with the home cut fries. Delicious!! I would highly recommend and go again. Also, our waitress was friendly and attentive. Don't sleep on this place.

Google
Amazing vegan options! The vegan bbq sandwich was like nothing else I’ve ever tried. It actually had the same outer char and inner melt in your mouth tenderness as meat. The decor is cool and the service is good. I’ll for sure be back to try more food!

Google
I slid up in here for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. It was a nice experience and a good atmosphere. The service was fast, friendly and it was not a long wait for me to get my food. Their prices are pretty decent. They have a dance floor in the back, but I don’t dance so I didn’t check into that lol. This is a nice cozy place check it out.

Google
OMGGGH! I love Royal Blue, my favorite is the smash burger and fries! They have the best fries ever! Wanna cool atmosphere, good drinks and handcrafted sandwiches, burgers … visit Royal Blue ♥️

Google
I ordered the smash burger and it was a 10/10. Cooked to perfection juicy meat combo with soft bun, bacon, and r&b sauce 😋. I added a little mayo for taste and it was delicious. I chose the hand cut French fries and they were good too. I had three drinks prosecco, frozada, and a high five. My experience was great the bartender was attentive. I will most definitely return very soon.

Yelp
Great burgers, chicken sandos, and fries. Total dive and that's what makes it the best. On a nice day there is outdoor seating that is comfy and on other days the inside is well decorated.

Yelp
I've been trying to give The Royal Blue a chance to win me over but we just aren't a good match. I visited twice. I've been so underwhelmed by the food, drinks, service and experience. I will admit I have not been to the back space with the music and dance floor and would like to visit it but am turned off because I don't like the lack of quality in drink options. I don't mind dive bars but this one must not be for me.

Yelp
I've never had a salmon chowder before, but I thought their salmon chowder was really good! I ordered their small and it was fulfilling enough. I also got their small frozen pina colada, which was good, but just a tiny bit too strong for me. I still finished it though! Parking is really tight here so I recommend either carpooling or taking Uber.

Yelp
The royal blue kept coming up on multiple list saying they had one of the best smash burgers in town. Well today was the day that I messed around and found out. The establishment is just your typical bar to say the least but I can honestly say I got pretty good service while chilling on a bar stool. Lots of beers on tap which if I were dining in, would have paired well with the burger. Let's get into the burger itself. The meat was juicy and actually seasoned. The sesame seed bun it was served on was nice and soft. The hand cut fries were nice and hot. The cheese was melted perfectly and there was just enough sauce although I like to dip in ketchup before every bite. Big back behavior at its finest. The meal cost me 25 bucks. Money well spent. I'll be going back to try the steak next time. Very good burger 8 out of 10. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Royal Blue is such a unique spot between the disco dance floor and the bar area! I love the vibes - everyone here is so diverse and fun. The drinks came out quickly and tasted great. Have to come back one day for food! Overall, one of the vibiest spots in Baltimore!
google avatar

Claire G.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this spot. Amazing eclectic decor, great service and delicious drinks/food. If you like campy/vintage aesthetics, this place is right up your alley!

Yelp
Great gathering spot. We really enjoyed the food. Place gets jumping at night so be prepared to stand

Yelp
Great omnivorous options. My date and I enjoyed vegan options as well as their selection of beer. Good service, nice bar seating as well as tables and table service. Will definitely return.

Yelp
I came by Royal Blue during the day for lunch after craving the kale salad and the tots. They've added some more things to the menu included hummus, curry, and salmon. I added chicken to the kale salad this time and it was a very generous portion of juicy, well seasoned grilled chicken. Super filling and yummy! What I love about the food here is that is relatively cheap and always consistent. I know exactly what I'm getting every time. My boyfriend got the chicken sandwich with fries and mac and cheese. Everything was great! I think we both agreed we liked the tots more than the fries, but I guess that is more of a personal preference. I'll also add that I tried their espresso martini on draft on a separate visit. It's probably one of the worst espresso martinis I've ever had but it does make for a great shot.

Yelp
Quick service. I had the tuna melt which was good, but onion would have set it off. Decent HH drink options; I opted for the natty boh. Only thing that I hated was how cold it was inside; it was just as cold as the outside
google avatar

Yelp
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite places in Baltimore to grab a bite to eat and a delicious drink. The vibe here is way too fun and I love the decorations as well as the details that the restaurant is taken to make sure you really enjoy your visit. The menu isn't expensive but it really offers all of the best options. On this visit I had the Greek salad topped with shrimp salad and really enjoyed it. The salad is very fresh and the shrimp salad has a lot of flavor and I really liked how much spice it had. The old fashioned was also, pretty stellar. Be sure to check this place out if you're looking for a fun place to dance or a good meal!

Yelp
Took a trip to Royal Blue with my favorite girls and tried the chicken cheesesteak. It was so delicious! The meat was seasoned to perfection, and the fries were good as well. Definitely a spot worth visiting again!
google avatar

Wilson G.

Yelp
The food was great, and I could see folks wanting to order their food for lunch or take out. My party included a vegetarian, and she was able to find multiple options. The service was interesting, I believe the main bartender's personality didn't mesh with the party I was with. They were quick and l clean. The space was the real winner of my visit. The dj kept a great pace for a dive bar with a "move as you're moved" design, which included a large bar, lounge space, and a disco-balled dance floor.
google avatar

Christopher S.

Yelp
This is a welcoming bar and food option for date night or just because. Great happy hour, frozen drinks, and tater tots.
google avatar

Ana B.

Yelp
Do not sleep on this place like I've been doing. I kept conflating the word "royal" in their name with Mount Royal soap company (lol). It's a bar with a cool instagrammable disco ball room in the back. Actually what's amazing at this place is their food. I had their spicy marg and it was so good we had three at lunch (it was the holidays) and their fried plantains which was on special for the holidays was amazing - served with sour cream and an epic chimmichuri sauce. It's a bar but with good home comfort meals like the Japanese-esque curry which I got with chicken. If I lived my the station I would come way too much!

Yelp
After a long day at the Zoo I needed a drink. I googled places and this place came up. So grateful it did because when I tell you Noah was fantastic, that man was FANTASTIC! I couldn't have asked for a better birthday experience. Drinks, food and conversation was just what I needed today. Thank you so much for the wonderful drinks, service and recommendation for my birthday dinner! You rock Noah!!!!

Yelp
The perfect "I need good food" spot! We walked in on a Tuesday night to a lively vibe and the smell of Brussels sprouts. So you know that was what we had to start with. The sprouts are covered with a sweet and tangy Thai basil sauce that you just want to keep eating. Paired that with the fresh Greek salad. My only wish is that it was served on a bigger plate to mix all the fresh ingredients. But on to the main event - the SMASH BURGER. It comes with cheese bacon and the best camerlized onions, everything you need for a 10/10 burger. Service was quick and friendly. All that to say, if you want 10/10 food and service at a no frills chill spot head there now! I call this combo "Mek's Special". Let them know and let's make this an official Order!

Yelp
I had a great time. The servers and bar staff were all so accommodating and unassuming I felt right at home, and everything came out super fast. This place would be one of my regular haunts if I lived in Bmore. My coffee mezcal "breakfast" cocktail was smooth and had no ice, but was chilled just the way I prefer. So it was pure liquor and did what it was supposed to do in its cute 1950s champagne /punch glass . The Korean Bang bang fried chicken sandwich is a serious WOW MOMENT. It had a HUGE piece of perfectly juicy-marinated, perfectly breaded & fried white meat. The korean style bbq sauce was also on point. My mouth is watering just thinking about it again. The truffle tots were good and crunchy and not greasy, but i was underwhelmed by any alleged truffleness which i couldn't detect. Usually truffle flavors are very strong for me so i'm not sure what happened- maybe they accidentally gave me regular tots. I actually liked the extra crunchiness better the next day in my air fryer. The pretzel doughnuts were fun , the sugar cinnamon glaze was on point. The ambience was perfectly retro Baltimore nostalgia without looking forced. And the guy that came in to run bingo had such a corny radio voice it was amusing. I appreciated the inclusive social aspect!

Yelp
Full vibes! The cocktails were great and the dance floor was beyond! Can't wait to go back! And amazing merch

Yelp
Very pleasant service, and a delicious burger. I had a couple of hours to kill while I waited for a train, and this was the perfect place for lunch and a beer.

Yelp
The Royal Blue is a pretty unique bar - it's kind of a mullet (neighborhood bar in the front, dance party in the back). It has two bars. The front bar is kind of a classic neighborhood bar, and the back bar - open at night - has a dance floor, a DJ, and a disco ball. Between the two bars is a retro 70s seating area, and there's outside seating as well. They offer a full food menu (a variety of bar food), and a full bar menu (beer, wine, cocktails). I personally like their Debbie Does Dallas (which I had to order because I'm from Dallas): vanilla vodka, passion fruit, lime, and soda - their cocktails are inventive and fun. At night (not sure about weekdays, but definitely on the weekend), the Royal Blue is a dance party! Definitely fun vibes - a special new bar in Baltimore. Take your friends and have a great night out!

Yelp
A lot of things I'm not a fan of when it comes to the royal blue but let's go ahead and get the good things out of the way first. We were surprised that there was an event going on we arrived and everyone seems full of life and welcoming. The decor was eye-catching and it seems like everyone was familiar with each other. We weren't there for the event and were able to get a seat since we were in attending just for dinner. The menu is very limited and only bar food. You know how sometimes if a restaurant only offers a limited menu, you're thrilled because you know they have really home those dishes; not the case. I didn't like the fact I was charged for having my sauce on the side. I never tried their chicken butor no sandwich before and wasn't sure if I would like the sauce or not. Instead of me having to send it back, I decided to ask for it on the side. When I looked at my receipt, I saw I was charged for the sauce and the waiter informed me they charge because it slows the kitchen down. Ok, so squirting sauce in a cup instead of putting it in a bowl and tossing the chicken with it it's slower. If you say so. This is also the first time I was ever charged for club soda/seltzer water in a restaurant before. I wasn't a fan of the fries because they are what I would consider burnt. I showed another ferns and they said they like theirs like that so to reach their own. The brussel sprouts were good but I couldn't eat much of them because their sweetness added up and became overbearing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yelp
The Royal Blue was the final stop on our self-curated bar crawl. We came in to a bustling crowd and bumping music; the vibes were vibing. We put our names on the list to be seated for dinner and then enjoyed cocktails at the downstairs bar. I ordered the fuego fuego. They had me at habanero infused tequila; spicy drinks (and food) are my jam. As if on queue after finishing our drinks, they buzzed us for our table. Thank goodness because by then we were really hungry. We ordered brussel sprouts, kale salad, deviled eggs, burgers, sandwiches, and fries all around. I had zero expectations on the food because well its a bar but everything was absolutely delicious. The bang bang chicken sandwich was not what I expected in terms of the sauce that we've come to know and love but it was bomb. Well seasoned and expertly prepared. Can't wait to return
google avatar

Kojo B.

Yelp
Sometimes what i want in a burger is for it to punch me in my mouth from a flavor standpoint. This was ok, i did pick up, and the smash burger was good enough. Not sure if i am kinda getting over smash burgers, but that is a possible reason as well.
google avatar

Skippy M.

Yelp
What a great lil' spot! Solid spirits, beer & specials. Didn't eat, but it looked and smelled great. Brittany was lovely and we'll be back in the future.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a cool neighborhood dive. The staff is friendly and attentive and there's a solid collection of drinks. The food was hit or miss on the night I visited. The burgers are quite good with a house sauce that's delightful. The shrimp salad wrap was extremely salty and inedible however. I was told that there's a DJ on the weekends and you can find people out on the dance floor. I'd check it out again.
google avatar

Yelp
I came to the Royal Blue while on a tour across the country Tour Managing, I asked the venue where I could take myself to a beer and some dinner. They recommended this place. I had the Vegan chicken tenders, which were pretty good, I'm not the biggest fan of Faux meat, but I actually will say I enjoyed this, I'm only giving 4 stars as I thought it was a little expensive for ordering a beer, a shot, and some food.

Mark F.

Yelp
I had a delay on an Amtrak train home. I saw the reviews and came by to get some food to go. The bar was mostly empty but the bartender was very friendly and helped me get an order to go. Great smashed burger and fries. I'd definitely go back if I'm in Baltimore again.
google avatar

James O.

Yelp
Great atmosphere! Has a 70's vibe to it, with a dance floor and disco ball. Nice little nook with some mid century modern decor going on. And then a separate bar (2 total) and dining room. The cocktail menu is fire; I recommend the Fuego Fuego, if you like spicy. The food is high quality bar food. Had the smash burger, and it was quite good, as were the fries that came with it. If you're trying to eat, go during dinner time and it will be chill, but if you're trying to dance, the place is hopping before the kitchen even closes.

Yelp
My friends and I ended up here on a Saturday night after hanging out at the harbor. We arrived and table seating was limited so we sat at the bar. Just my luck, most of the sandwiches could be made vegan/ vegetarian. I ordered the bang bang vegan chick'n sandwich with fries. Fries were fresh cut and hot; very good. The sandwich was okay, just a little too sweet for me from the sauce. The sandwich was topped with carrots, jalapeños, a dairy free slaw and pickles on the side. My friend also got the bang bang regular chicken sandwich and thought it was okay. The Greek salad with shrimp salad added was a hit with my friend. They both ordered the frozada which they also thought was good. Overall, my experience was good. The he ambiance is bar vibes. My biggest complaint was the cold. The frequent doors opening created a consistent draft.

Yelp
We were celebrating the end of dry January by hitting a few of the newish bars in the city. We ended the night at Royal Blue with cocktails and food. It was pretty busy when we arrived so we headed to the back bar for drinks and found a fun dance floor! Since we had already had a few drinks I opted for one of the more basic vodka drinks on the menu but it was delicious and very reasonably priced. I didnt get very far in my drink before our table was ready so despite the crowd things were moving pretty swiftly. The staff, from the back bar to our table waitress, were so nice and accommodating. Food wise, everything was so good! I had cheesesteak and we shared devil eggs, I have no complaints about any of it. The fries were seasoned pretty well and the chef came out and stood by everything she made. Overall great people, great drinks, good food would recommend!

Yelp
We (a group of 15) unexpectedly ended up at The Royal Blue after the venue we originally selected to meet at turned out to be hosting a private event. We were greeted immediately by a staff member and then Ally threw herself into getting tables pulled together in the back room, which fortunately was empty around 7pm on a Friday night. She even gave us tape to hang up our group's flag! While we were waiting for the tables to be set up, at least two other staff members asked us if we were being helped. Portia was our server and boy, did she hustle. Orders were taken as people showed up and food and drinks came out quickly. One of our friends is vegan and Portia was very familiar with the menu and told her what was vegan-friendly. I had the chicken cheesesteak with tots and Tanqueroni (draft negroni), which were on point - and we got there in time for happy hour which saved us some $$$ on our drinks. Can't say enough nice things about the awesome staff, the tasty food, and the quality (heavy pour!) drinks. Will definitely be back soon.

Yelp
Welcome to the neighborhood, "The Royal Blue" (TRB). This establishment has been in business for about seven days, at this point. It seems like a wonderful addition to the area. Actually, this location used to be several iterations of bars prior to TRB occupying the space. I have many fond memories And partied many nights here. Looking around, they did a fantastic job of keeping a few items of yesteryear, and updating the rest of the bar in a diner retro feel. To pay homage to the previous owners, they actually removed a mural from the billiard room that's been around since the 70s and placed it in the main room above the main bar. That was a very cool touch. On to the grub... 1. Smash Burger ~ Two 4 oz beef patties seasoned and smothered in sticky onions, applewood smoked bacon and American cheese, iceburg & RB sauce, served on a toasted brioche bun. (Available Plant). Yummy yum yum in my tum tum tum. All the flavors, textures and juices married perfectly in every single bite. No dry parts ANYWHERE! This is a major win for me. I love a sloppy burger. As 'Fat Basta*d' said in 'Austin Powers', the smash was "GET IN MY BELLY" goodness!!! 2. Narragansett Lager: This was my 1st time trying this beer. I actually chose it bc It made me nostalgic, of the awesome summer I had while interning in Rhode Island (how lived in Narragansett/ Newport. Worked in Newport), many moons ago. This beer did NOT disappoint in any way. Its brewed to be clean, crisp, refreshing and perfectly balanced. The flavor was much better than expected. After a lil digging around, I learned that Narragansett Lager (old reliable) was the first beer brewed by "The Original Six" back in 1890, and the best selling beer in New England from the 1930's to the 1970's. It has crossed paths with Dr. Seuss, it was famously crushed by Captain Quint in Jaws, and it was the first alcoholic beverage to partner with a professional sports team - the Boston Red Sox from 1944-1975. Quite an impressive history encompasses in a tiny aluminum can. FYI... As TRB is brand spanking new, they are still working thru the menu offerings so there is no permanent menu in place at the moment. They create /print it off daily while they find their 'sweet spot'. Stick ur head in and check them out. They're worth the trip.

Yelp
Today (10/28) was the Grand Opening of this place! And what a hit! The service was fast and friendly. The overall vibes of this place are amazing. One of kind, 70s vibes. You're transported back to that era as soon as you step into that room and dance floor. The food was also amazing! Came out pretty quickly and was freshly made. I will DEFINITELY be back!!!

Yelp
This was one of those I seen on instagram let me see if it's as good as it looks experiments. I must say it wasn't bad at all. The location is troublesome because because it's a lot going on around there so parking is tough. I did carry out so I literally double parked on the corner ran in & out. The place look like it's a good chill spot the crowd wasn't too big or small. I ordered the shrimp salad sandwich wit fries which came to $17 which now a days is a steal. The sandwich was loaded with shrimp (a huge plus). Only issue I had with the sandwich was they add a sauce on it that was too spicy for my liking & caused me to give them 3 stars. But I will have to give them a second chance cause the double burger looks good as well

Yelp
I popped in after stopping briefly at the new gallery upstairs. I was confused - just inside the door was no host stand, no nothing. I stood in place and made eye contact with someone behind the bar, and possibly a server who walked by but no one greeted me. I continued standing around, hoping to get enlightenment, or for someone else to make eye contact with me and actually, idk, SAY SOMETHING, but no. So I bounced (and definitely passed a server who said nothing to me per the usual on my way out). The end.

Lidia V.

Yelp
Great service!! Thank you Porshua and Matt! Also, the food and drinks were delicious!! They play great music that really sets a cool vibe.

Eric R.

Yelp
Porshua and Matt rool! Great smash burgers. Best I've had. Fries were superb and plentiful. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Great food tunes and music. Highly recommended. Drink there. I did. :)

Yelp
Stopped at the Royal Blue for drinks. Drinks were tasty, the vibe was super chill and laid back, and the customer service was great! Will be back to try the smash burger!

Nancy L.

Yelp
We sat at the bar and shared a chicken sandwich and smash burger. Our cocktails were spicy and well prepared and the service at the bar was pleasant and fun. Coming back soon!

Shakerra E.

Yelp
Ordered the Smash Burger with a side of Bang Bang Brussels. Burger was cooked well and the caramelized onions were great. The sprouts were good. The sweet heat sauce added a nice flavor to them. Also, had the Pretzel Donuts for dessert. They were just ok.
google avatar

Chel M.

Yelp
Service was great and atmosphere was cool. Drinks, yes to fuego fuego a delicious spicy tequila drink. Food, yes to Brussel sprouts and tater tots. No to French fries and smash burger

Yelp
Great food, drinks, and vibes. One of my favorite spots in Baltimore for meal or just drinks with friends!

Yara W.

Yelp
The food is mid. The fact this is listed as one of the best restaurants in Baltimore is legit depressing

Yelp
Almost afraid to give this a review because I want to keep how cool this place is a secret! Alas! Duty calls. This place is extremely awesome. The vibes are, as the kids say, immaculate. Came here with some friends for dinner and it was busy so we waited for a table while getting a drink in their disco room. Service at the bar was good and we didn't have to wait that long for a table. Once we were seated, our server was on it and very attentive. We ordered the Buffalo fried green beans and WOW they were SO good. They were on as a special that night but I hope they put them in a regular rotation because they truly were delicious. For dinner I ordered the shrimp salad club wrap which was also great! Not exactly a typical shrimp salad but it was good- it felt a lot healthier to eat. Basically all the food here felt like typical American bar food but with a slightly elevated and healthier approach, which I really appreciate! After dinner we decided to stay and hang out in the disco room more and dance a little. They had a dj since it was Friday night and it was VERY fun. It's really great to have a cool place to dance nearby, and a place that's not just a typical bar/live music scene. I foresee myself coming here a lot in the future and bringing all my friends.
google avatar

Lea S.

Yelp
the royal blue is a great spot! I recommend a few changes to elevate the space. 1: get a better sound system pleaseeeee. It's too quiet. 2. stay open till 2! its become a staple place of bmore nightlife and 1:30 is just too early to end things. 3. Promote the djs/parties better on social media, not just food! if you do this, more people will come to the royal blue on Thursday/Friday/Saturday, which means more money for the establishment. Otherwise, great ambiance, music, and vibes. highly recommend this place to others.
google avatar

Kaitlin N.

Yelp
My favorite bar in the city. Get the Hi-Five cocktail and the mac and cheese. Everyone is so nice and there's never any bad vibes at all.
google avatar

Yelp
We came in with 20 minutes to spare and told the very kind bartender. She came through for us. Not only did our food come out fast, our food came out D-licious! My friend said "i think this is the best chicken sandwich I've ever had", i thought she was just hungry, but when i tasted my smash burger it was pretty damn awesome. Love this place. Wish we could've stayed longer.

Yelp
Great food & super friendly staff. Charming spot, the interior is cool, very nice lounge area in the back
