"It can be hard to find a bar that will appeal to everyone, but we’d argue that The Royal Blue hits that sweet spot no matter what time of the day you stop by. The space is laid out for functionality, a remnant of its former club days. The bar and dining area is in the first room you enter, with vintage murals above the bar and globe lighting that bring you right back to the ’80s. The bar food is munchies meets comfort food—think specials like Frito Pie—and they make an excellent double smashburger, served with applewood-smoked bacon on a sesame bun. Add a side of bang bang brussels sprouts, grab one of their technicolored drinks (we recommend the Hi-Five or Fuego Fuego), and make your way to the back, where the disco ball and live music dance party await on Thursday-Sunday nights." - michele berry
