"Given its extreme West location, Rusty Knot is either where you start your night, or where you end up late. Regardless of whether you can remember your experience the next morning, chances are you had a good time. The Rusty Knot’s nautical vibes, strong drinks, and fun crowd are its main draws, but it also serves a pretzel dog that has saved our life on several occasions." - katherine lewin, hillary reinsberg

"It’s too bad The Rusty Knot gets super busy on weekends, because it’s a pretty ideal setup for a low-key hang with your friends. Step inside, and you’ll find a few comfy chairs, a pool table, and even a jukebox. And that’s pretty much all you need from a bar. They also have snacks like pretzel dogs and a drink list with tiki things, but we’re talking about beer - so get a few bottles of something and decide who’s playing who in pool. This little nautical themed bar on the Hudson is a solid weeknight play, and, if you’re looking for a crowd, stop by on a Friday or Saturday night." - bryan kim

This is one of those places you don't want to review, because you're scared everyone will find out about it. The first time I went it was 50% gay night and 50% Suwanee reunion, which added up to a great time. The nautical vibes are just kitschy enough, and you can pretend their signature drink, the Rusty Knot, is just a green juice, not a dangerous blended mojito. Don't go there. It's not that great, I swear.

Lovely little quirky bar. The decor makes it feel like you’re on a ship or in a bar in the Caribbean. I know some people say it can get very busy but we were there for the happy hour and had no problem finding a table for four. The piña coladas were great.

No tourists will ever be found here! That's because the Rusty Knot is Manhattan's West Village's best kept secret. Located all the way on West Side Highway, hugging the shores of the Hudson and the edge of the storied West Village neighborhood, the Rusty Knot is a mix of hole in the wall bar combined with West Village charm. There's ample room and a pool table that is located uncomfortably close to the bathroom so you'll have to dodge cue sticks before you use your cue stick. There's a good amount of seating and standing room, though this place can get super packed once a critical mass of early 20-somethings decide this is where they want to be tonight. There's drink, there's solid small bites, and the service is fantastic. This place has a gorgeous view of Hoboken, almost as if it longs for the city across the river in which it truly belongs. A+++ experience. I come back all the time.

Cool spot. Has a tiki bar type of vibe to it. Can feel a bit commercial vs. warm and cozy but still kinda nice. The bartenders working there are really sweet and respectful. There is a pool table in there which is a nice plus. There are only two bathrooms in total tho, which is a real drag when you're 3 pints down and having to wait in line for 10minutes. x

Never change, Rusty Knot! I keep coming back here each time I visit NYC, especially in the winter when the tropical drinks and kitschy interior are a welcome reprise from the cold. Pool table is downright terrible, but its cheap and adds a level of unpredictability. Jukebox is free, lots of 80's. Cocktails are strong, not cheap but not overly expensive, and the decor is part nautical, part dive. The bar food is actually pretty good, and it's worth ordering a few things.

Great relaxed atmosphere. They do have a wide selection of beers. The drinks are fun and it's a great place to unwind with friends. There is a pool table. Love meeting up with friends here after work.
