"This steakhouse on Gaston Avenue has added a jazz brunch to its Sunday offerings, adding smooth sounds to its already impressive slate of brunch dishes. Go for the steak and eggs, best enjoyed with a blood orange mimosa made with blood orange IPA and prosecco. The three bacon plate, which features cuts of wagyu, heritage pork, and duck breast “bacon,” is a unique treat. The restaurant offers free valet in its lot outside — hard to beat that price and convenience in Deep Ellum." - Courtney E. Smith
"This restaurant went from not on Dallas’s radar at all to a spot where diners congregate for daily oyster happy hour, which promises $1.50 Murder Point oysters and $10 cocktails from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. It’s a fun hang with a solid menu. Order the gorgonzola tortellini, confit duck leg piccata, the Texas redfish, or go for any of the numerous steaks. Make sure to take a minute to walk around and enjoy the art — the portraits and photos of famous folk that are graffitied over are a trip. The restaurant also hosts a variety of events during the week, including wine and spirits-focused dinners and Tomahawk Tuesdays, when diners can score a giant three-course Texas wagyu steak dinner meant for two for $195. Best for: Date night with a date you want to impress with a steak-centric dinner and drinks, or jazz brunch for music lovers." - Courtney E. Smith
"At this Deep Ellum steakhouse, happy hour runs Tuesday through Sunday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Deals include $1.50 oysters, $10 caviar potatoes, $10 Tito’s martinis and all the Saint’s signature cocktails, plus various deals on wine by the glass and bottle at the bar. This is a great people-watching spot and a place to get away from the world — The black walls and dim lighting make it easy to lose track of space and time. There are no windows outside, and it’s always the perfect temperature." - Courtney E. Smith
"A cozy spot for comfort food like gnocchi bolognese with a perfect sauce of meaty heartiness and tomato, topped with a creamy dollop of ricotta." - Courtney E. Smith
