Where Celebrities Ate During SXSW in Austin, 2025 - Eater Austin

The 11 Best Donuts In Austin

"When you want to bring donuts to the office to impress your boss, you might find yourself stopping by The Salty on South Congress. These are fancy donuts priced around $4-5 a piece, from a chic storefront with dozens of other locations across the U.S. Despite the luxe price point, the donuts occasionally veer into overly sweet or dry territory. But for the most part, you’ll find creative flavors—like candied pistachio with white chocolate or churro with dulce de leche—that taste more like the hefty desserts at a full-service restaurant. " - nicolai mccrary

Miami Doughnut Bakery the Salty Donut Is Opening in Austin in 2021 - Eater Austin

"Revered Miami doughnut shop the Salty Donut is opening its first Austin location. It’ll be found on 2000 South Congress Avenue starting sometime in the spring of 2021, with both takeout, delivery, and dine-in services. Ahead of the debut, there’s a reservations-only pickup preview this month, on Saturday and Sunday, December 12 and 13. Salty Donut’s menu features plentiful doughnuts, naturally. There are year-round flavors (dubbed “always”), such as the popular guava and cheese, maple and bacon, and brown butter with salt. Then there are the rotating ones (designated as “sometimes”), which currently include a pumpkin spice cake doughnut, oatmeal cream pie, and small lemon whip. The team plans on working with local vendors to offer Austin-specific flavors as well. The coffee menu includes an array of espresso drinks, including lattes like a Cinnamon Toast Crunch and the salted caramel, as well as its own cold-brew from Chicago-based coffee roaster Intelligentsia. Salty’s Austin December preview will feature free doughnut boxes with four flavors: horchata, cookies and cream, glazed, and a new margarita one in honor of Austin. People will be able to reserve their boxes and coffee online for timed pickups; no walk-up boxes will be available in order to ensure proper social distancing measures with regards to COVID-19. Salty Donut co-founders Andy Rodriguez and Amanda Pizarro-Rodriguez launched Salt Donut in Miami as a pop-up in 2015, along with pastry chef Max Santiago (who left the business in 2017). The cravable fried doughs quickly inspired long lines and the pop-up often sold out. They opened the first physical store in 2016. Rodriguez and Pizarro-Rodriguez chose the South Congress location because of its general appeal, and because they specifically wanted a standalone building (as opposed to one of the many mixed-use developments along the busy street). The address is owned by Kent Cole, one of the co-owners of next-door restaurant Magnolia Cafe. Previously, the building hosted that Glossier pop-up shop in 2019. This is Salty’s fifth overall store (a fourth is opening in Orlando in December) and second Texas location after Dallas debuted earlier this May. There are plans to eventually expand throughout Texas within those two cities, as well as new ones." - Nadia Chaudhury

This place always has some great drinks and love the seasonal options. Brioche donuts are fantastic. We have been multiple times and each time has been a real treat. The interior has a lot of seating and it is aesthetically pleasing and clean. It can get busy on the weekends so a weekday stop is much more manageable

Went around 11am on a Saturday and it wasn't too crowded, still a few seats open but it got crowded shortly after. The donut itself was more like a sweet bread than your traditional donut, you can tell by the photos. I would've labeled it as a bun with a nice filling and topping. I got the horchata and the banana cookie butter creme, which is seasonal and it tasted like mashed banana on the inside. Definitely authentic and natural ingredients, but there was nothing special about it. The topping for the horchata donut was very sweet and marshmallowy and looked beautiful with the torched /bruleed top, but I also didn't find anything special about the flavor and it felt overly sweet at the end. They are around $5 per donut, so its a bit pricy. I think the draw is the nice environment and the special and fun flavors. The service was okay. I'm glad I tried it but probably won't be coming back.

No matter where you are staying in the Austin area please make a trip to the salty donut. We were staying at the line hotel and it was about a 30 minute walk down Congress. Even though it was June in Texas heat, it was worth the walk. This is literally the best donut I have ever eaten. My son got two churro donuts for his birthday. My other kid, the picky kid, just got a regular glazed donut. I indulge in a cheesecake donut and it was magnificent. There's also a gourmet coffee stand. Super cute café fun vibe, just on the edge of town. I promise if you have donuts, this will be worth every minute of your trip.

Came for my birthday with my partner for the first time. Got 4 different doughnuts; the key lime mini is delicious—the second your lips hit it you taste lime. I believe the crust on the bottom is graham cracker. Probably my favorite. Then the mixed berry has a lovely cream filling and a crust on the bottom—not too sweet and you get some tartness from the berry. We also had the churro, which is star shaped and (I think) has Dulce de leche cream. And finally the horchata doughnut and that was flavorful and the whipped cream on top is very light and airy. I really loved the texture of all these doughnuts and nothing was overly sweet. Jalapeño and cheese kolaches were really great, the bread is chefs kiss and the sausage isn’t too greasy. Hibiscus/lemonade is pretty yummy and the matcha latte is sooooo good. Staff was friendly, will definitely go back!

If you love Samoa Girl Scout cookies, then you should stop by to try out their Samoa donut! Some of the donuts are larger than the average donut place. They’re great for sharing!

Google
Best donuts in Texas! Next level. Particularly loved the whoopie pie and Samoa. Moist, soft, and perfectly made. Will return for all donut cravings. Not cheap, but you pay for the high quality and it's worth the treat.

Google
We got some of the best service here. Everyone we interacted with was kind and helpful. We had heard such great things about these donuts, and they are fun. I can see why people are loving it, but ultimately these unique flavors were not for me. We got a half dozen, pretty much one of what they had left, so we could try a taste of each one. Now having sampled them, there are only 3 I would recommend, the Samoa Cookie, the Tiramisu, and the Horchata. The other flavors were just not my jam. While I'm glad I tried this place, I don't feel a need to return.

Google
Worth it. Got sent here by reccomendation. Loved the peach cobbler and classic doughnuts. Colaches were great, but it sucks they cant be included in the boxes. Tiramisu doughnut was bland, not a fan. The peach lemonade was a hit. Def worth seeing If you're looking for a sweet spot. The line was a pain, and the design of the place really doesnt accomodate a line, but it was 9:30am on a sunday so that scans

Yelp
It's been a while since I've visited the Salty Donut. The last time I was at the Salty Donut it was pretty much a trailer where you picked up donuts through the "to go" window. It has evolved to a sir down restaurant with a cool modern vibe. Also the cost of the donuts have also expanded. Sometimes you get what you pay for. The cashier highlighted some of The Salty favorites. I tried two of their favorites... Churro & Dulce de Leche donut and assorted donut holes. Dulce de Leche donut was pure perfection...churros consistency on the exterior and dulce de Leche in the center. OMG...so good. The three types of donut holes were a delight to consume - vanilla brioche donut and two cake donuts...Oreo cake and vanilla glazed chocolate cake. Yummy to the nth degree. Important to note, these donuts did not taste greasy or overly sweet. Also the flavors of the donuts harmonized well together. I also had a latte initially. It was pretty strong so I added a caramel flavoring. The latte was smooth and so satisfying. Overall, my stop at The Salty made my day! Highly recommend The Salty donuts...

Yelp
The first time I tried The Salty Donut was at a Nike Run Club event two years ago at the Domain. I had a churro dulce de leche donut and it was pillowy-soft and delicious. It's also star-shaped. So adorable! I made my first visit to their store with the intention of only getting a hot caffeinated drink but since the long line snakes through the store, you're left staring at the trays of freshly glazed and decorated donuts behind a glass case just begging you to take them home. So I caved and ordered a brown butter salted donut and a vanilla bean latte. Brown butter makes everything instantly delicious and a sprinkling of salt amplifies the flavor. My vanilla bean latte was delicious. When I got home I had to reheat it in the microwave (please don't judge me!) And I was pleasantly surprised to see actual vanilla bean seeds floating around. It smelled amazing! While I do love their donuts and drinks, they are quiet pricey: between $4 to $6 for one donut! Also, the line was really long and moved super slow. The single cashier seemed oblivious and carried on her personal conversation with the woman in front of me and her coworkers.

Yelp
My friend and I had dinner nearby and decided to get our dessert from The Salty Donut afterwards--great idea! We arrived about 30 minutes before closing and was greeted right away. I was pleasantly surprised they still had a good selection of donuts. The Salty Donut offers a fun variety of donuts such as horchata, Texas chocolate sheet cake, gingerbread french toast, and more. They also have a coffee bar. I opted for a mix of donut holes as well as a churro dulce de leche donut. I highly recommend getting a mix of the donut holes to try a variety. The churro dulce de leche donut was also fantastic. It had a creamy filling inside that was not overly sweet. The space is warm and inviting. There's ample seating if you prefer to enjoy your donuts and/or coffee inside!

Yelp
I had friends visiting from out-of-town so we stopped at the Salty before hitting all the shops on South Congress. As a party of 6, we ordered nearly one of everything. My favorites were the brisket kolache, jalapeño kolache, the pop tart and the traditional donuts. The Apple Cinnabun and Churro donuts were in the mid-range for us and the Cookie Monster and Oreo Cake donuts were let downs for us. (Not pictured is the Horchata donut which my friend said was awesome!)

Yelp
So this is an upscale donut shop off of SoCo in Austin that I so wanted to love but fell short for me. Its a great space and very open and the flavors all seem so great, so maybe I had super high expectations coming in..? Anyway, I tried the candied pistachio white chocolate donut and the Thanksgiving special chocolate pecan pie donut. As someone who loves pistachio desserts, I was super hyped for this donut. Sadly, to me, it just tasted super sweet and white chocolatey with minimal pistachio flavor. It was definitely a soft and light yeasted donut with some nice textural contrast with the candied pistachios but it was very one note to me. Also with my favorite pie being pecan, can't take the southern out of this boy, I sooo wanted to love this chocolate pecan pie donut. It did have a wonderful pecan flavor in the filling but again, it was overly sweet for my tastebuds. I understand these are donuts and maybe cloyingly sweet is what you want but for me personally, I was hoping for a more balanced donut from a donut specialty shop. Perhaps its just my own tastebuds and my thoughts on costs but I was thinking at these price points for a donut, it'd be more like a pastry, sweet but balanced. If you want a fancy donut and a hit of sugar, this is definitely a spot for you to explpre various flavors. I'm down to come back and try other flavors though but not rushing to return any time soon.

Yelp
Love their donuts, they have an espresso machine too so you can pair with a nice coffee drink too. Great location right on soco so you can explore the area too. Cute decor indoors and ample seating inside and outside. Despite a busy morning they crank out the coffee drinks fast. Will continue coming here!

Yelp
Definitely the WORST donut I've had, ever!! Horchata: w/Faux meringue, dry and flavorless raised cake w/cinnamon icing on the bottom. One bite in was overpowering in a bad way. Didn't think it was possible, but these donuts were worse than VooDoo and Shipleys. Austin has failed miserably in the donut world.
google avatar

Veronica Pagán B.

Yelp
This is one of the most amazing donut shops I've set foot in!! The flavors that they have are creative and make sense, these flavors being in donuts! Pumpkin Spice: This donut truly has a pumpkin spice flavor where you could actually taste all of the flavors. The donut was moist and cakey. Horchata: This donut was insane and by far my favorite! The exterior texture of this donut is fabulous, and the inside is moist with an horchata cream and the whip on the top is the perfect touch. I'm glad I don't live in Austin because this place could be a problem! Churro: This donut is adorable and delicious. Very light and crisp on the outside, moist inside with dulce de leche inside. GF Butterscotch: I never thought I'd come across such a fluffy and delicious gourmet gluten free donut. The flavor was the perfect amount of butterscotch, not too sweet, moist, creamy, lovely! None of these donuts felt like mouthful of sugar, they are sweet but not overkill. The inside is spacious and great to meet with friends or have a treat and coffee while catching up on work. The staff is very friendly and made great recommendations. This is a must-do when in Austin!

Yelp
OMG holy moly! I love this place! I was out on a bike ride and was craving some dessert, I looked up donut places near me and The salty came up with good reviews. I went to the store on a Tuesday evening at around 5 PM and they were not very busy. I ended up getting three of the donuts because it looked so delicious. I got the seasonal pistachio, the brown butter and the Horchata flavor. All of them are really tasty and flavorful in their own ways, but my favorite was definitely the brown butter donut. The server also mentioned that this is a very popular choice amongst customers. I can't wait to go back and try some more flavors !
google avatar

Linda S.

Yelp
These donuts are THE donuts! If I could have these every single morning, I would. They're absolutely delicious and I love the big variety, especially the seasonal ones! 10/10 recommended!

Yelp
Lovely little donut shop off S. Congress. Not much parking - but there is a walk up "to go" window on the side. This place is not your corporate bulk stamped donuts - they're a bit more bougie and fancy than that. We had a few donuts and some of the other baked goods: Traditional glazed - a good solid donut Horchata - this one is rich and sweet Texas Chocolate Sheet cake - cakey rich and decadent Churro & Dulce de Leche - star shaped with that churro crisp and goopy inside Brown butter & Salt - if you like a little salt to accentuate sweet - this one is for you Donut holes - probably my favorite - bite sized and yummy We also had a few of the brisket and the jalapeño and cheese kolaches. They were just ok for me - there are better kolaches out there. I'd probably just stick to the donuts. Donuts were good but definitely needed coffee to go with them because of the richness. They do have some good coffee drinks and some fancy ones but I stuck to plain old Joe.
google avatar

Nick S.

Yelp
This was a really cute donut shop with lots of seating and a clean, modern aesthetic. They have tons of baked goods beyond donuts and several fun donut options like horchata, gingerbread French toast, and Texas chocolate sheet cake. The donuts are also quite large, enough to share with another. We tried the candied pistachio white chocolate and it was pretty sweet with maybe just a hint of pistachio. It was a bit underwhelming overall given the price. I would say that this is a spot that is probably hyped a lot and instagrammable, but not the best for flavorful, donuts with depth (more than just sugar) in Austin.
google avatar

Alison K.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop we passed as we were shopping Congress. We got a couple of pastries to share as well as some drinks. The chai latte was perfectly sweetened. It was hard to choose which pastry to get. We settled on a Terry Blacks bbq brisket cheddar kolache and brown butter salt doughnut. The kolache was tasty but the brown butter salt doughnut was even better. The horchata doughnut looked tempting but we ended up passing on more sweets. Staff was friendly and there are some tables inside to relax awhile.
google avatar

Kelley N.

Yelp
Cool little place with beautiful, laid back atmosphere. Brown butter did not disappoint, Tears were formed, I love butter and this was unbelievable. Butterscotch and horchata were delightful! Definitely a shareable treat.
google avatar

Lauren J.

Yelp
The most incredible designer donuts with new and rotating flavors in Austin! I never leave without a Brown Butter but had to try all these seasonal kinds. The Pumpkin Pie Cake was next level heaven. Petition for it to be year round! The Candied Pistachio and white chocolate was insanely sinful with a nutty crust and glaze. The Chocolate Whoopie pie was like a lava cake! All bomb choices! The Saltys also a great coffee shop to hang out at and chill while you mangia these decadent one of kind treats!
google avatar

Apryl M.

Yelp
On a weekend trip to Austin and I came across this quaint donut shop. It's so cute ya'll and must try if you're into gourmet donuts. We picked up a dozen to take back with us to share and the flavors did not disappoint. They are made fresh daily and enjoyed all the variations and good with coffee. The shop told us they are opening up location in Houston so looking forward to it being closer to home!
google avatar

Blair V.

Yelp
I had some guests from out of town and I wanted to treat them and myself to one of Austin's upcoming donut shop! We came early on a Saturday around 9am and was surprised that a lot of donuts per batch were gone but enough for us to snag a few. Prices are slightly above average but the donuts were worth every penny! They were all delicious and unique to its own. Salty Donut has definitely become my top donut spot in Austin! The only thing I would pass on is their matcha latte, it is not ceremonial grade and had too much milk for my taste. *tip: if you are first time customer, download their app for a free donut!
google avatar

Rachael L.

Yelp
Very fresh LARGE donuts! Pricey, but they are quality. We got the pistachio, original glazed, chocolate whoopie pie and the cinnamon sugar crumble. Favorite was the pistachio (nice surprise) and would not order the chocolate whoopie pie again (tasted like cake and not a cake donut). Service was great and ambiance was nice!
google avatar

Eddie K.

Yelp
Came here for an offline offer, tried three of their donuts and they are all pretty good but I wish it's a bit less sweet. The Horchata is really fluffy, pistachio has some crunchy nuts on top of the donut, and finished up with very creamy cookie and cream donut. The sizes of these donuts are def bigger than a normal donut you have in other donut shops. Service is pretty great, I like their interior design and it feels very welcoming.
google avatar

Chelsea L.

Yelp
Donuts are great! I'm actually not a huge fan of donuts but thought this place looked cute. I was sad they got rid of the mustache donut but got to try the pistachio, cookies n cream, and horchata. The horchata is very creamy, a bit too sweet. Pistachio is great-I like the nuts on the bottom of the donut.
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
10/10 so good! So glad we found The Salty Donut while visiting Austin. The donuts were sweet but not overly sweet. They were huge! The iced coffees were yummy and the staff was really friendly. There was a lot of seating inside and a nice outside patio as well.
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
Was pretty happy with this place. I'm not the biggest donut fan, but some friends were going and I decided to join in and was pleasantly surprised. I'm not the biggest fan of sweets, but the donuts here offered options that weren't crazy over-sugared, which was quite welcomed. Would recommend. Nice variety and good quality.
google avatar

Legacy M.

Yelp
Overall: 10, 10, 10! These are the best donuts I've ever had! If you don't like really sweet, delicious donuts, I wouldn't recommend. They also have great gluten-free options and drinks! This is also a great place to come work or take a meeting. It's clean, not loud, and has enough seating. What I Got: - Gluten-free Butterscotch Pie - the best donut ever!! And it's gluten-free!!! This is super sweet though but ugh it's delicious. - Candied Pistachio - very good! I love the crunch from the pistachio. Sweet but not overly. - Brown Butter Salt Cake - this is their classic. It was good and would be even better warmed up! - Strawberry Shortcake - yummy yummy. I loved the freshness of the strawberry. This one does have filling so be aware. Thus is on the sweeter side.
google avatar

Celena S.

Yelp
What a cute little shop! Is welcoming and comfortable for you to enjoy your doughnuts. The doughnuts are all on display and labeled so you know exactly why you're getting! I love this. We ordered a bunch of doughnuts so we could try all different ones. By far my favorite was the doughnut of the week. The salted caramel chocolate chip croughnut-good God in heaven!! I planned only a few bites but ate the entire thing! My favorite doughnut ever! The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars was we felt the staff was more interested in their conversation than helping us.
google avatar

Sarai G.

Yelp
I went around 9pm on a Friday night and although the donuts were a little cold, they were delicious. I love their dirty black chai latte. Clean restrooms, friendly staff and various seating area for group or individuals. Would definitely recommend going in the morning when the donuts are fresh and warm. Went with my cousins and there wasn't a donut we didn't like like. All were so tasty.
google avatar

Sabrina S.

Yelp
My review is for the vegan ultimate Oreo cookie donut only If there is a vegan donut option.. I'm all over it lol We were walking on our way back to the apartment, and made a quick stop for this particular donut - to go. I'm not a huge chocolate person, but this one is an exception! Not overly sweet, filled a light vegan butter cream, dipped in a light oat milk glaze, and topped with crumbled Oreos and bit of salt. Light and dough is slightly chewy, I shared the special dessert with my better half. Try it! $4.95
google avatar

Samantha F.

Yelp
Currently $25 for a half dozen - & I think it's worth it! I leave the country today and had to stop by and get a treat. Their Horchata is my reigning favorite, but my partner liked the cinnamon roll inspired one. The staff is always incredibly friendly. Unfortunately, the coffee is a hit or miss, and I really dislike how they charge $1.50 for oat milk instead of regular milk :( The place is cute & quaint, the atmosphere is lovely and the donuts are bomb. Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Nicolle M.

Yelp
These donuts were good, not quite best in Austin but still worth a visit. Our favorite was the strawberry one with the horchata a close second. We didnt get to interact with the staff much, and the donuts were ready to go. They would have been better fresh- highly recommend going early. The shop itself is very cute and trendy. I actually really enjoyed working here for a bit while killing some time waiting for a friend.
google avatar

Kelsea K.

Yelp
Damn. Fine. Donuts! Ordered first on Doordash when my cousin was in town (had never heard of them prior)... and fell in love with the dulce de Leche churro donut immediately. Have since eaten in the brick-n-mortar as well as had delivery to the house via ubereats. Recommend both. These travel well & do not disappoint! Faves are that churro dulce de Leche (brioche dough w/ whipped dulce filling & dusted in cinnamon sugar) & the Horchata donut (24 hr brioche soaked in a homemade horchata mixture, bottom crusted with Valrhona Caramelia chocolate + finished with torched cinnamon-meringue, from their website). Divine, great service, and fantastic products!
google avatar

Treacy N.

Yelp
I've been a fan of Salty Donuts since visiting their Dallas location! I ordered a large batch for my kid's birthday, and as always, they did not disappoint. The glazed donut was perfectly light with just the right amount of sweetness, and the cinnamon roll donut was a huge hit - rich and perfectly spiced. The standout for me, though, was the breast cancer awareness strawberry crumble donut. It was the ideal mix of fresh strawberry flavor with a satisfying crumble topping, and it's amazing to see Salty Donuts supporting such an important cause. This spot is my go-to for donuts that are as delicious as they are creative. Can't wait for my next visit! They also have seating space outside that you can have a coffee and chill. The service was also fast.

Yelp
I do want to update this, brown butter was definitely good. I would suggest getting it. My wife tried it later and it was one of her favorites. It just was not personally for me. I would eat these all day every day.
google avatar

Alicia W.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying that I stand completely corrected about what I wanted. While here for a conference, we asked our hotel clerk to recommend food choices, including donuts. She mentioned this place and said we should make it our business to go. We were impartial but ended up on Congress St looking for food when we spotted this location. I'm sooooooo glad we decided against NOT going. As soon as we walked in we knew we were in for a treat. The ambiance was totally welcoming. I love a good aesthetic and this was perfect. If you want to dine in, work, read a book, this is perfect. We were immediately greeted and the given recommendations on what we should get. I got the Key Lime and Strawberry shortcake. Everything was perfect...the filling wasn't too tart, the donut to filling ratio was perfect. The strawberry filling was definitely homemade. It was a donut I haven't had before. What's more is they have other locations, including in Dallas!!!! If you're ever in Austin, please stop by! I would absolutely recommend!
google avatar

Ear R.

Yelp
Great donuts I had the horchata, cookie monsters, Texas chocolate, Samoa, and banana one but the horchata was my favorite. I had to go twice because the first time they didn't have the horchata but I'm glad I went back and I'm glad I did, it is a must try.

Yelp
Yum yum yum! Elevated donuts have never been this good! I love that Salty uses fresh ingredients and always have fresh donuts on display. I stopped by Sunday morning around 10:30 AM and the crowd size was definitely picking up. I ordered a blueberry crumble cake which was delicious, not overtly sweet and the center had yummy blueberry jam. I tried my friend's churro croissant/donut which was also delicious. Lastly, I tried my other friend's brown butter and salt cake donut and it was also excellent. I also got a honey butter cinna-bun togo but haven't tried it yet. For my drink I got their hibiscus tea lemonade with homemade strawberry syrup and loved it. There's limited parking so plan accordingly. Prices are high for donuts but they're a good size, use quality ingredients and taste darn good!
google avatar

Ian G.

Yelp
This place sells a glaze donut for $3.80! And chocolate one for $4.50. And it's not even like they're some "$5 milk shake" type thing. It's the same taste and quality I'd get from the HEB down the street. Their drip coffee wasn't bad but still overpriced. Not to mention they're a chain so it's not like I'm supporting a small business place. Clerk was cool but whatever, it was dead when I went in so it wasn't like he was stressed or challenged. Bottom line, don't waste your money unless you want to be seen at a donut shop on SoCo. I give The Salty Donut 2 stars but I wish I could give it the Finger.

Yelp
If you are on south Congress or in Austin Salty Donut is a must stop! I was excited to try the pistachio donut and it didn't miss! It was fluffy fresh and the soft flavor of pistachio ever! The ambiance is always great and the service. There is a minimal artistic design throughout the inside and outside of the shop. By far one of the best donuts I have ever had.

Yelp
I love that The Salty Donut has rotating flavors for their donuts. The horchata and dulce de leche donuts are classics I have always enjoyed. I also really liked the matcha lemonade which is a seasonal drink. A plus is they have a small parking lot.

Yelp
Ladies at the counter were friendly and helpful! The ambiance inside was cute and welcoming. You can use the area as a working area or a place to catch up with a friend. Doughnuts were tasty. My favorites were the horchata, lemon ricotta and the brown butter & salt. Timing of busy-ness is unpredictable. When I went, there were a couple people before us. After we paid, there was a line out the door. Great area to pick up doughnuts and shop up and down the street for cute souvenirs etc.

Yelp
These donuts y'all....the big delicious non-boring donuts. I knew I had to get a box of these before going to the airport to return home. FYI, they travel great. We got half a dozen. Top row (L-R): brioche candied pistachio white chocolate, pumpkin pie cake, gf choclate whoopie pie cake. Bottom row (L-R): brioche Apple crisp cinnabun, brioche gingerbread French toast, pumpkin pie cake. I'd purchase every one of these flavors again, but the stars for me were the candied pistachio white chocolate and gingerbread French toast. These brioche donuts were so soft, fluffy, and again large. The candied pistachio has crushed candied pistachios on the bottom and it provides a delicious salty sweet balance. The gingerbread cream filling for the gingerbread French toast is so good. Great gingerbread flavor and they don't skimp on the filling. Service was friendly and quick, and the inside was beautiful and clean. They have tables if you want to sit and enjoy your donut(s) with a cup of freshly brewed coffee. The parking lot is small so you'll may have to park on the residential street behind the business, but be sure to check the parking signs. They have a walk up window you can utilize if you've ordered online for pickup. This is the only Austin location but they do have other locations in the USA. I'd definitely return to try more of their creative and yummy seasonal/limited time offerings they have throughout the year.

Yelp
Conveniently located on South Congress, this is a great stop off location to grab donuts and coffee before exploring South Congress area shops. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The flavor options were unique! We shared four donuts and unanimously agreed that the Churro was the best. It's star shaped and had a creamy filling that wasn't too sweet.

Yelp
The Salty Donut was one of the first shops I laid eyes on in the city when I drove down SoCo on my move to Austin, and I've been meaning to try it ever since. It took 8 months and a visit from my brother, but I finally did! Needless to say, it was exceptional. Their interior is cute, their service was good, the coffee was tasty and fresh, and their donuts were totally extraordinary. I got the banana pudding donut, and it was legit probably the best donut I've had in my entire life. A++. I came here a second time a few weeks later and even got free churro since they were closing down, which was a nice touch. Would recommend to anyone in the SoCo area or their original (I think) location in the Dallas Bishops Arts District.

Yelp
Their donuts blew my mind! The kolaches are sooo good, I want to eat 100 more of the brisket kind. Their coffee is strong and the matcha lemonade is some of my favorite. You can't go wrong with anything here. It's also a super cute space to work or hang out in during the day.

Yelp
I'll start with the food, which is great. It's everything else that's absolutely horrendous. They have the WORST customer service that has ever existed and don't even try to get it delivered because it takes 2 hours. If it was 50% cheaper it might be worth it but it's just not.

Yelp
Ugh!! Just wasted $14 on nasty donuts. I told my husband I should go get a refund and get my $ back. He said no just deal with it and throw them away. They're dense, thick and cakey. Glazed donut should not feel or taste like that. Texas chocolate was nasty so was the butter donut.

Yelp
Came in first thing on a Saturday morning and was impressed by the selection. I picked 5 donuts-tiramisu, horchata, churro, glazed and carrot cake. I love a good yeast donut and these were fresh and delicious. My favorite out of the bunch was the churro donut, which was in a star shape and filled with a slightly salty buttercream. I also ordered an iced latte and it was well prepared. They have some seasonal drinks in addition to the standard coffee shop faire. There are a few parking spots right out front, which made it convenient to get in and out of the store. Since I visited the weekend before Halloween, I enjoyed the Halloween decorations throughout the store. There is some seating inside and it looked like a great place to enjoy a donut and coffee.

Yelp
Breakfast dessert of champions, anyone? I don't mind pausing on calorie counting for these clouds of yummy goodness! They definitely deliver according to their slogan = Donuts* Coffee * Vibes! Love their upscale + urban chic decor (this's not your average donut place). Their service was fast. Their donuts were fluffy and delicious and most of the flavors that we got were a hit, but just a few that didn't make it to our favorite list. From bottom left clockwise (Please note that these are not their current flavors): * PRICKLY PEAR MARGARITA - a little tang with creaminess {4th fav} * HORCHATA - lightly sweet with fluffy meringue with a hint of cinnamon {3rd fav} * DRAGON + PASSION FRUIT - Tangy and delicious {my 1st fav} * VEGAN COCOA + BROWN SUGAR - Tastes like chocolate wafers to me * TIRAMISU (not to my liking) * COFFEE CAKE (meh) * MAPLE + BACON - perfect combo with salty & sweet and yes to their candied bacon {5th fav} * CORNFLAKE CEREAL MILK + HONEY - tastes just like a cereal bowl in a donut but more buttery and creamier {2nd fav} All in all, I recommend this place for someone who wants to indulge in good quality donuts with advanced flavor profiles!

Yelp
I got the horchata donut and the gingerbread french toast donut. Both were pretty good, nothing spectacular but way too sweet. The size is decent for the price though but I couldn't really make out much flavor beyond the overwhelming sweetness and the mountain of cream in the horchata. I also got the mocha and salted caramel lattes, and both were served warm instead of hot and I think both could've used a tad more of the syrups as they didn't have much flavor. Overall, pretty decent donut place but not anything special.
