The room and hotel facilities were beautifully designed, and the overall aesthetic of the property is impressive. The location is excellent, the morning complimentary coffee was a nice touch, and the swimming pool water temperature was pleasant. Unfortunately, our stay was negatively impacted by poor service at the pool. The staff member working at the towel distribution area was rude and unhelpful. While our kids were actively swimming in the pool, the pool staff removed our personal belongings and gave our pool chairs to other guests, because they were away from the chairs for more than 15 minutes even though they were in the pool. Literally they removed our belongings without our authority and dumped to our kids without offering alternative sittings. Hearing this from my children was very upsetting. Basically, they were kicked out of pool areas due to the “15 minute Rule” The way the staff (she) handled the situation is very nasty and mean to my sons. I felt horrible for my sons and it ruined our Family Vacation. To make matters worse, later I realized my personal folder was missing in the bag where they put our belongings away. Later it was found in their cabinet, not in the bag. So be careful and check your belongings if they remove your stuffs.

This is my third time staying at Shelborne this year, and once again, it was an absolute pleasure. We had a fairly large group of friends and family visiting from out of town for an event, so chose to stay there together. Four of us stayed in their terrace penthouse which is truly the best accommodation for hosting/entertaining guests. All the rooms and decor are impeccable, and service is consistently excellent. Adrian at the front desk is also wonderful, as is the entire Proper team. The new restaurant Pauline and lounge Little Torch are both excellent additions. Couldn’t recommend this hotel more- our guests had an incredible weekend.

This recently renovated hotel is perfectly located at Collins Ave close to the best restaurants and the beach. The pool area has the most comfortable beds and the pool staff is super friendly and helpful. Furthermore, the rooms are well designed and spacious with everything you need. The reception and bell staff goes the extra mile to help you. All in all, a perfect experience and we will definitely come back!

The location is wonderful. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach and nearby restaurants. The pool does not have actual hours, sunrise to sunset is what we were told, but the towel service ends before the pool closes. Children and adults alike are expected to walk back to their rooms dripping wet and cold. For $500/night you would expect people could have a towel to wrap themselves in and dry off before re-entering the hotel. Especially when there are more than 10 people exiting the pool to enter the hotel sopping wet.

Just finished my stay at the Shelborne and already missing it. Excellent location on Collins Ave and on the beach! Lives up to the Proper hotel standards of sleek/clean and functional rooms. Linens and towels are great, along with the room decor. The staff is Excellent from drop off at the front entrance the staff is friendly and welcoming. Checked in on NYE and the front desk was very accommodating no wait for my room which was upgraded to ocean front (highly recommend). Ample hangers and storage for clothing and luggage. In room robes. Housekeeping staff in excellent and turn down service every night. Excellent food choices for in room dining. Beach staff is awesome! Shout out to the young man who was working on his school vacation, hard working and friendly young man. Along with the beach served from Chicago. These guys hustle and make sure everyone is happy. Along with the pool server who took orders at the pool bar area. Restaurant bartenders are excellent. Reference the photos this place doesn’t not disappoint and I highly recommend. Can’t wait for my next stay.

Crispy from guest services provided us with a welcome gift which was so sweet and unexpected. The pool and beach staff were also wonderful. Adrian from the valet was also extremely helpful upon checkout. I really want to thank everyone from this hotel for going above and beyond to make our trip so seamless and special. This was my first time in Miami and I will definitely be back to this resort!

The hotel has been newly renovated; the rooms are clean and beautiful. The pool is spacious and heated (in January). There is easy access to the beach, with sun loungers, towels, and sunscreen provided. The staff at the beach and pool are exceptionally kind and helpful. Highly recommended!

We had such a wonderful stay at the Shelborne in Miami. The hotel is absolutely beautiful the design is stunning throughout, and both our room and bathroom were spotless and clearly crafted with real attention to detail. The bed was honestly one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. The location is incomparable you can’t beat being right in the heart of everything. And unlike many places in South Beach, the staff here was genuinely friendly, personable, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!

Perfect location. Fully renovated in May2025. Excellent service. Great food and rooms. Fully renovated with excellent modern decor and intentional interior design. Rooms are spacious, clean and offer great ocean, garden or city views. Service is exceptional. Shout out to Adrian, who is running all things at lobby, greeting guests, giving excellent recommendations, problem solving, all with a great smile. Also, staff on the beach: Andrew and Alexander made sure our chairs, umbrellas were properly set and were very courteous and professional. Lastly, food was also excellent. Breakfast options are healthy and vast. Food at the beach is seafood based and very well served. Dinner at the lobby bar was delicious. They also have great wine list and cocktails. All in all, an excellent experience that we highly recommend.

No matter how sophisticated one is come Art Basel, nothing hits the spot like a burger, especially a juicy and messy burger with crispy fries. I came by the lobby bar this last Sunday after walking from a nearby exhibit. I was hoping for traditional brunch dishes, but at the time I got in, they had the regular lunch menu. The lobby, and I am assuming the rest of the hotel, were redone and upscale, and the space a far cry from the deliciously divey Shelborne on the early 2000s where I would go to the karaoke basement bar. No the space is airy and with lots of wood paneling. So back to my burger, I asked for a medium well with sauce on the side. The bun was fluffy, and with a slice of American cheese melted over a patty that was juicy even though it was medium well as requested. They did serve the sauce on the side of the fries; despite me not being a fan of cream based sauces their combination of Tabasco, ketchup, and mayonnaise was actually really good. As far as sips, I asked the bartender to let me sample their orange wine as shown in the menu. Although I did not like the taste, I did appreciate them letting me get a sample while I stay with my usual red wine.

At first I thought the Shellborne was not going to be a good hotel but then I checked in met this really nice guy named Teo and without Teo this review would not be 5 stars it would be 4 so Teo If you look at this review if it was not for you 4 stars. The food was amazing and the eggs don't get me started about the eggs. The bacon BOOM awesome the house car only one in the US. If you stay here GO ON THE BEACH!! Jump over the waves and the hotel is a perfect place to meet people and make friends. I LOVE THE SHELLBORNE!!!!!

From the moment I walked into The Shelborne, I felt like I was on a true getaway. The hotel is absolutely stunning full of charm, character, and Miami vibes! I went for lunch and the experience was top tier. The service was attentive, the Miami Spice menu was creative and delicious (the guac toast and shrimp salad were my favorites), and the dulce de leche paleta was the perfect sweet ending.

I spent months researching Miami hotels before I finally stumbled upon this gem. I already trust The Proper name and the fact that it's a recently restored art deco property sounded so exciting! My expectations were sky high, yet they were still surpassed! Everything about our stay was more than perfect. We were promptly greeted outside (side note: maybe avoid the cabs at the Miami airport. Was more expensive than an uber, there was no A/C, and the fumes were awful). The lobby was beautiful, there was no line at the counter, and we were given cold water. They took our bags up to our upgraded room right away and gave us a little tour. The room was very clean and well decorated, as I've come to expect from the Proper. And of course, always stocked with Aesop products. We also had some surprises waiting for us that we really appreciated! The staff and management truly went above and beyond to make our stay special and perfect. The next day we used the gym, which was decently sized for a hotel gym. Everything was very clean and looked brand new. Then we visited the pool and the beach -- WOW! I commend the Proper for keeping as much of the original architecture as they reasonably could have, especially the beautiful high dive. It's only there for decoration (can't blame them, people would definitely hurt themselves), but is such a beautiful structure that really anchors the time travelling vibe. Plus, they have Super Goop sunscreen available at the pool and beach (as a sunscreen connoisseur, this is a great brand). To get to the beach, an employee takes you down the short path and checks you in with the beach staff. They asked us about our preference for where we wanted to sit. It wasn't crowded at all so we had our pick of chair/umbrella setups. We stayed at the beach for a while and had such a great time. The water was so clean and warm. I've been to Miami beaches before but somehow everything seemed brighter, cleaner, and more beautiful. Watching the shimmering ocean from the shady lounge chairs is a memory I'll forever cherish. The only hiccup is that we had late checkout but the cards are still programmed to automatically stop working at 11am, so we had to awkwardly walk to the street and into the lobby from the beach to get the cards turned back on so we could access the property. As far as hiccups go, this one was very small and did not cloud our fantastic experience. Finally, we took the private car service to our next stop. The car was extremely nice and the driver was super friendly and helpful! We could not have asked for a better experience.

i love it here! i've been to the hotel before they renovated and loved it also but this is definitely an upgrade. the vibes are immaculate. loved the pool. the beach was also amazing but there was a ton of seaweed when we went so we couldn't go in the ocean. we have a toddler and everyone there was so nice. Adina at the front desk was super accommodating. Joshua, Nick and Adrian were also amazing. We cannot wait to go back!!
