Fantastic! The oysters are divine and outstanding. Each variety has its own unique flavor. One was very fresh, clean but with a slight citrus brightness while another had a more brine forwardness. The deviled egg dip was very tasty and would highly recommend and then you add the Shandy as a perfect compliment to the oysters for good measure. The staff was friendly and helpful and helped to really cement the experience. It is one of my favorite oyster joints from coast to coast. Stop in and knock a few or twenty back with some good friends!

Google
I recently discovered Island Creek tinned seafood, so I was looking forward to visiting and trying the oysters they're known for, and buying some hopefully discounted tinned fish. Indeed, some of the tinned fish is cheaper than you can find elsewhere -- specifically, the littleneck clams are $20 instead of $22+. Everything else was the same or more expensive. We arrived around 5pm with a group of 5, and while there were seating options outside, they were in direct sunlight, so we chose to wait 20 minutes for a shaded or indoor table. In the meantime, we filled out our order. Our table was ready at promptly 20 minutes, and we were able to go and stand in line to order. They have an assortment of alcoholic beverages as well as some frozen drinks. We got the frozen cucumber lemonade which was delightfully refreshing! We got the tinned octopus dish, which comes with all the charcuterie accoutrements. It's not a lot of food, but it's a lot of different types of toppings that make it fun to pick and choose! It's $10 more expensive than just buying the tinned octopus ($32 vs $22), and I think it makes sense given the many accoutrements. If you're looking for a seafood charcuterie board, this is a great option! Not a must get, though. We got the scallop aguachile, which I really enjoyed! The scallops was fresh and tender, in a refreshing seasoning with crispy crackers. I'd get this again. The crab roll was packed with shredded crab meat. This was my brother's favorite dish of the entire trip. The dressed oysters were delicious! Chili crisp has to be one of the best oyster toppings ever. I enjoyed these more than the plain raw oysters we got. We tried all 6 oyster varieties (5 of each, so 30 oysters at $1.95). All but 1 variety were from Maine. It seems like this is a really good price for the area. I admittedly couldn't tell the differences between the oysters, but they were all briny, fresh, and delicious! The oysters were not perfectly cleaned -- sometimes small pieces of shell debris ended up in my mouth. Overall we had a great experience here. I'd come back!

Google
A great spot for fresh oysters! You order at the front and they will serve you once it's ready. There's plenty of seating the the staff were very welcoming. Tried the Flying Point, Norumbega and Blackstone Point. It's nice that the selection rotates depending on when they get the oysters. The plants gave it a nice vibe.

Google
Can’t beat the variety and price of these oysters. Great vibes and outdoor seating. It gets busy and you order at the counter so you can expect a line during peak hours. Great happy hour spot!

Google
Best oysters that I've ever had. Can't be more fresh than this. FOOD The staff were super knowledgeable about all the oysters that were in season and the flavor profiles of each. Based on what we liked, they made recommendations that were a hit with our crew. Incredibly sweet oysters! However, I'd say SKIP the dressed oysters - was the weakest (and most expensive) of the selection. ATMOSPHERE If you can (weather permitted), definitely recommend sitting outside and enjoying the oysters on a hot day. Great that the picnic type tables are shaded with the umbrellas SERVICE Exceptional - staff very knowledgeable about the

Google
Such a vibe! We arrived and were immediately greeted by the host and given a piece of paper for ordering. It was right around noon so the place had one other customer besides us. We tried 1/2 dozen of each of the oysters they had in for the day as well as crab rolls, a glass of rosé and beer with a shot. Two were exceptional for us so we went back for another dozen. The place cool and laid back and the service and oysters were top notch! Throughly enjoyed!

Google
Stopped by for their $1.95 oyster deal and had the best time. The oysters were incredibly fresh and the store was nice and clean. Staffs were friendly and knowledgable. Highly recommend!!

We really enjoyed our visit here! I loved the frozen cucumber lemonade (option to add alcohol) and the best oysters we've had!

Yelp
A delicious selection of oysters are always awaiting at The Shop. The folks here are so friendly and the deck is a pleasant place to enjoy oysters (and other snacks) during the sunshine of a Maine summer.

Yelp
I've been here several times, and the oysters are just fantastic! They're freshly shucked, relatively affordable for what you get ($1.95 a pop and they can get pretty large), and totally delicious. My personal favorite is the John's River -- they're briny, big, and just so tasty. You write down your orders (i.e. how many of each item you want) via a paper order slip, which you bring up to the check-out desk to pay for. The Shop also has an array of beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, that you can order at the desk. The oysters come with various sauces you can choose from (horseradish, mignonette, hot sauce) and are served on ice with lemon slices. The restaurant has a decent amount of seating inside, as well as a larger outdoor patio where dogs are welcome. The service has always been efficient. The chips and dip are also delicious, and I've tried the tinned fish, too, which I thought was just okay (though I'm not sure if that's just because I'm not a huge tinned fish person). I've also tried their oyster shooter, which comes with an oyster inside the shot glass - it looks gnarly, but was surprisingly delicious. Would recommend! Note that the Shop also does happy hour all day Sunday and weekdays 4-6, though the oysters don't change in price. Overall: a reliably awesome spot for oysters, particularly if the weather is nice enough to sit outside.

Yelp
Looking for oysters and other items to take home? The Shop is your place to go to! The Shop is a hybrid restaurant/market on the Eastside of Portland, and they serve a variety of local oysters, tinned fish, and caviar that you can take home, or eat at the venue. Having been to the Shop quite a few times, it remains as one of my favorite spots in Portland. They frequently change up their oyster offerings, with a large focus on local oysters. Additionally, their menu consists of their tinned fish which comes with pickles, bread, butter and seaweed salad, and their caviar. Not looking for tinned fish or oysters? They have a consistent crab roll, chips and dip and other specials. Aside from their food, the Shop offers a variety of wines and cocktails to also enjoy, so there is always something for everyone. The Shop will continue to be a consistent spot that I go to. I definitely recommend to anyone looking for oysters, or just a cool spot to hang out.

Yelp
Amazing. I love oysters and will happily make a meal out of oysters and this was right up my alley. The menu is short and sweet - oysters, tinned fish/other seafood, some dips, and a crab roll. We got basically one of everything from each section of the menu. My favorites in order: 1. The oysters. Duh. Fresh, beautifully shucked with not a bit of shell, lots of juice left. $1.95 each. 2. Tinned sardines, which came with butter, bread, pickles. 3. Crab roll - lots of tender, sweet crabmeat but the bun was a little stale and could've used some butter. 4. Caviar. Not a caviar fan, but I did appreciate the ENORMOUS mound of Cape Cod kettle chips that came with it. Food came out very quickly! There's also a pick-up window right outside where you can also get soft serve and hot dogs. Bonus points for the parking lot.

Yelp
I had first discovered The Shop during my last trip to Portland three years ago, and was so impressed with its offerings that I made it my intention to return. Since we were in the area checking out some breweries and businesses along Washington Ave, we thought it was the perfect space to stop in for lunch, so of we went. The Shop is run by Island Creek Oysters - and in addition to being a raw bar, they're also a shellfish market; I also noticed a walk-up window on the side of the building that serves hot dogs. There's a decent amount of space both inside and outside to sit, and the aesthetics are super open with large windows to bring in natural light and a cool color scheme. Inside, the raw bar itself serves as a focal point where you can see the staff prepare dishes. Once we were seated, we were given an order card that contained all the menu items - we were instructed to mark what we wanted and how many, then bring it up to the counter to pay. While oysters are the main star, they also have a good selection of canned fish (some which they can themselves), a few apps, and other dishes. We decided to order a few things - the trout spread, chip + dip, crab roll, canned mussels, and some oysters. I also decided to get the boozy pink lemonade because vacation. Everything was great - so fresh and beautifully arranged on a platter; there were plenty of crackers, toasts, chips, and complements to go with the mussels and dips. The arrangement really wowed me, above the fact that it was delicious. The crab roll was probably the weakest thing we ordered, but it still wasn't awful. My drink was quite refreshing and perfect for the humid day we were having. Service was great - we were taken care of promptly and our food came out at a good pace. Overall, I can't speak any higher of The Shop - the seafood is fresh, and it's definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
Stopped by here on our road trip since my sister was already a huge fan. We order at the front and then can pick our seat wherever we want. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seats were free for lunch on a Thursday. We shared a bunch of items including the Caviar & smoked trout dip, canned mackerel, sardines, mussels, oysters, and ceviche style scallops. This was the first time I tried caviar and I thought it tasted like what I imagined. The trout dip was was creamy seasoned well. I really enjoyed the freshness and tangy scallops. Of the tinned fish, my favorites to least was the sardines, mussels, and marckerel. But all were good with the crackers, pickled vegetables, and toast. The oysters were perfectly prepared with no concern for shells shards inside. Overall, we had a great time. It is a casual and open place where you can enjoy the beautiful weather. Prices are high especially because the portions are on the smaller side. Would come again!

Yelp
You can't beat local Maine oysters for $1.95, all day, every day! We've gone to The Shop a few times, and it never disappoints. We also love bringing out-of-town visitors here -- they always get a kick when they see how easily accessible oysters are in Maine. The concept is simple: tally your oyster order (usually there are 6-8 options, all local), order at the counter, and in minutes, you have exceptional freshly shucked oysters for $1.95 each. They have plenty of seating options: outdoors, couches, high tops, tables, etc. Although oysters are what they're known for, don't miss their other stuff on the menu (they even have caviar!). We ordered the smoked trout dip during our last visit, which was phenomenal. It came with crackers and veggies, and it was delicious. Service can be inconsistent, but hey, you're coming for those oysters anyway!

Yelp
Rating: 4.5 Stopped by for some oysters. Place was busy but seatings were available so we were seated quickly. They give you a slip that lists their menu and check off what you want and order inside. We ordered some variety of oysters from different parts of Maine and dressed oyster. It was great to try different types of oyster and get to taste and compare them. They were all delicious and dressed oysters were good and had a kick from cilantro and chili oil. Overall the place was great for trying some oysters from Maine. They do offer drinks and alcohols for those that enjoys them. Price was reasonable as well. It's a nice place overall.
google avatar

Sabrina A.

Yelp
The best place for oysters! Service is quick and you order at the counter and are quickly served thereafter. You cannot beat the price and quality here. We ordered a dozen to share and got all the accouterments. This is definitely some place we will visit again whenever we're in the area.
google avatar

Ryan Y.

Yelp
We came to The Shop after lunch, so we could eat some cheap, delicious and fresh Oysters ($1.95 each). When you walk in, the staff will give you a slip to mark down how many oysters you want from the available selection. Once you are done, you bring it to the front desk where you pay and they give you a number to take to your table. We ordered 5 types (Half Tide, Aphrodite, Mimi's Oysters, Blackstone Point, and River Gold) and got 2 of each. Each had a different taste, in terms of saltiness and sweetness, but I enjoyed all of them. There is self-serve water in the front. The Shop is worth a visit.

Yelp
Oysters are my all time favorite I needed to try some in Maine~ this place was high in our list and to order your food, you have to fill out the sheets, give it to the counter inside, and they give you a number marker because it will delivered to your table. Seatings are inside and outside~ the staff was kind and the seating person explained the process very kindly and with patience because I can only imagen how often he repeats the process thousands of times a day. The place was clean and casual, which is the a Portland theme~ I tried the dresses oyster which was a plate of two oysters with spicy chili crisps, and cilantro. It was delicious and was very savory. The spices gave it nice kick in spiciness. The oysters themselves comes from 5 different locations in Maine. We ordered 4 of every choice to see if they are different~ the aphrodisiac oysters were creamy and by far the best~ pleasant cove was also very light and fresher! Love point oysters were ok. Robinhood oysters didn't leave too much of an impression. Johns river oysters were more fishy, but that doesn't mean it wasn't good! They were all very fresh and delicious! Didn't try any of the alcohol but probably will next time!

Yelp
Great place to stop by when visiting Portland. If you are a fan of caviar - that's your spot. Loved their crab roll with lemon flavor!

Yelp
Recommended: Highly, for oyster enthusiasts and newcomers alike. Overall: An outstanding destination for top-quality oysters and a delightful dining experience. Snapshot: Food: 5/5 Drink: 4/5 Vibe: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Value: 5/5 ‍‍ Family-Friendly: NA Highlights: Perfect For: Enjoying a wide variety of fresh, high-quality oysters Don't Miss: The rotating selection of oysters, offering fresh and delicious options Bonus Tip: Check out their small but well-curated drink selection, including Austin Street brews All The Details: My love for oysters began at The Shop in Portland, Maine, four years ago, and it has been a benchmark experience since. Now, it's a compulsory stop for my husband and me whenever we're in Portland. The staff is efficient, warm, and knowledgeable, ensuring the line moves quickly and that each visitor feels welcomed and assisted in their oyster selection. The menu constantly rotates, but the freshness and delectable quality of the oysters are consistent. When it comes to value, The Shop is unparalleled. It excels in providing perfectly shucked oysters at an incredible price point all the time (not just certain times like other places). The ambiance adds to the experience - a fresh market counter, charming seating, and a lovely patio. Though their drink selection is limited, they make impeccable choices, often featuring Austin Street brews. Their merchandise is also noteworthy. My husband frequently wears their oyster crewneck, a testament to our fondness for this place. While The Shop might not be a hidden gem, as it's well-known to many, it always feels like a delightful discovery to those new to it. We eagerly anticipate our next visit.

Yelp
We were told The Shop is *the Spot* for oysters and so here we came. Sitting outside in the new summer breeze was a perfect way to enjoy some lovely sea food. -- the oysters, the ones we tasted were fresh, sweet and the horseradish gave a perfect kick to it. -- The tinned scallops were pretty good with the toasted bread and spread and pickles that came with. They seem to have $6 happy hour too!!! Sadly have to miss it this time, but it seems like a great deal and people around us were chugging those pilsners like water. Keep it pouring, folks

Yelp
An awesome pit stop on our road trip up New England, The Shop offers super fresh local oysters, beers on tap, and a great selection of casual bites. When it's high season, I imagine this place is totally slammed with its indoor and outdoor seating, but we arrived at an off hour on a quiet day and found it easy to get a table, and super quick to get our order fulfilled. When you arrive, you'll be handed a menu and a golf pencil to select your order; tick off the number of each oyster type you want (you can also see them all on ice up front), and your first sauce (I'm always a mignonette girlie) is free. Bring this slip up front to choose your drink and fulfill your order and pay to get your table number. They'll shuck everything for you lightning-fast and bring you a big tray of crushed ice where your oysters will be reclining for you in all their briny glory. We also ordered the trout dip and it was fabulous, with a nice selection of things to dip in. Bathrooms are clean and The Shop is located among a bunch of cool shops and eateries to check out on the block.

Yelp
THIS is the place to go for oysters when you're in Portland. I don't care what anyone says. They have $1.95/oyster EVERY DAY. ALL day. The value here is impeccable. We had a few places for oysters while on our trip but this by far had the best value. Vibe is super trendy. Kinda got a little cringed out when I saw chairs from a high school classroom (whiplash moment lol). But the decor is clean, kitchen is clean and simple, display of the oysters is gorgeous, and the staff was helpful. Don't bother for happy hour oysters when you can get this value all day, every day.

Yelp
The Shop was absolutely outstanding. It was like having a slumber party with the ocean except all the guests are delicious sea creatures. Ambiance- glorious Food- Magnificent Merch- Top notch Eat the ocean my friend eat the ocean.

Yelp
Came in for a dozen oysters...we ate 41. Case closed. A must stop in Portland. Absolutely fabulous food, drinks and service.

Yelp
I was pregnant when we stopped in so i couldn't indulge on the raw oysters, but my husband who is an oyster fanatic doubled down for me and got 18 delicious oysters. They were so cleanly shucked and were available for a decent price (compared to $4 per oyster in other restaurants). He also ordered the bloody mary that had the oyster with it and that was jam packed with delicious goodness. As i sat there drooling wishing i could have some, they also had other things on the menu like tin fish and caviar that all sounded amazing. my husband says this place is def worth coming back to!

Yelp
Incredible fresh local oysters shucked in front of you! Trout dip delicious too! Full drink menu. Counter service. Lots of outdoor and indoor tables. Friendly staff! Good value- all oysters $2!. Fun spot for a large group too. Lots of free parking

Yelp
Had to make a pit stop for oysters in Portland and The Shop did not disappoint! It's a casual, no-frill spot with a very simple menu. They have lots of outdoor seating which is super nice during the summer. The oysters are $1.50 each so it can't get much better than that! We ordered a dozen and they were super fresh. Overall we loved the experience and wouldn't hesitate to return.
google avatar

Danielle V.

Yelp
Clean, fresh oysters at an amazing price. This a summer stop for sure, with lots of outdoor seating. They also have garage doors that they open up. Casual vibe where you can order as little or as many oysters as you want and bring up your slip to the front. Beer and wine mostly but great stop if you are looking for some fresh, tasty oysters.
google avatar

Stefanie Y.

Yelp
The Shop's oysters were the best oysters I had while in Portland. I wish I'd taken a photo of the menu so that I could remember what we'd ordered - I believe they were from the Damariscotta River area. We tried one wonderfully sweet oyster and two brinier ones - all tasted wonderfully clean and fresh. At $1.95/oyster, the Shop's oysters were also one of the more reasonably-priced options we encountered. We also loved the dressed oysters, topped with a vaguely Asian-tasting lime sauce ($7 for 2), and the scallop crudo ($17). The wine was also a nice deal - $25 for a bottle of light rosé. Service was pleasant and fast - we enjoyed the counter service and more casual feel of the space, which also had a beautiful outdoor area. The Shop was a great way to spend an afternoon and enjoy some of the best seafood the region has to offer.
google avatar

Maura C.

Yelp
I was incredibly impressed with The Shop!! Came here for a quick and easy dinner while visiting Portland and ordered 20 oysters, a ceasar salad and tinned fish with my husband. All the oysters we had were incredible and so reasonably priced! The tinned fish we had was also great and i loved the salad! I would not hesitate to return here and I intend on recommending it to anyone heading to Portland for a trip!! The space itself was so cute with great outdoor seating and a very cool neon sign of a horseshoe crab. Staff were really helpful and friendly as well!
google avatar

Michael T.

Yelp
Definitely homerun for oysters ! Glad island creek oysters created this shop. The oysters delivered are just as good as what's served minus the convenience of them already shucked.
google avatar

Valerie F.

Yelp
Love this spot! It's a casual but cool vibe with excellent quality oysters at a decent price compared to other spots in the area. Check off your order on a paper form, give it to the cashier, and they bring them out to you. Easy and quick service. Tried all the different oyster varieties offered and really enjoyed them all! Mignonette was perfect accompaniment.
google avatar

Sam R.

Yelp
The shop was a fun stop for a light lunch. We got a dozen oysters and an order of the tinned fish (mackerel). My boyfriend ordered a Bloody Mary as well. The drinks here are no joke! The Bloody Mary packed a punch (total meal in a cup). The oysters were all spot on, we were happy by the selection. The tinned fish reminded us a lot of a popular Israeli restaurant in LA - really enjoyed the presentation, and the pickles were all great. Only complaint is the price point, it was expensive relative to other stops we made in Portland. Nonetheless, I would definitely come back!
google avatar

Beth B.

Yelp
I am not a big oyster person, in fact I recently only eat them grilled or disguised with lots of butter, bread crumbs and other ingredients that mask what I oftentimes consider a briny or salty flavor. Our visit to The Shop last weekend changed all of that for me! From the moment I read about it on Yelp I knew I had to guide my husband (a TRUE oyster fan) to this location in Portland for a light afternoon lunch. You walk in and feel instantly chilled, the young lady guides us on their ordering process, and quickly we found ourselves sitting at a charming high top table with a spritely glass of white wine from Greece as we awaited our treasure tray of 18 oysters. Yes! 3 of each type on the menu this particular day - which was six total varieties of oysters lined up with our choice of accompaniments! OUTSTANDING! Fun to rate them from favorite to least favorite! And let's NOT overlook the value every guest eating oyster experiences when eating at The Spot. Their oyster pricing is great! We will return on our next visit to Portland, Maine!

Yelp
If you like raw oysters, then The Shop is THE PLACE to come to. Oysters are $1.50 each and have 6 different types for you to try. The Shop is a small eatery that you order on a slip of paper, marking the amount of items you wish to order (including drinks and appetizers), pay at the counter and then wait for your order to be brought out to you. My husband and I ended up ordering the following: Huber rose $9.29, prior to tax Peeper pale ale $8.28, prior to tax Anchovy Toast, $8 prior to tax- I thought this was good and tasty but I think it is overly priced for what it is and wouldn't recommend ordering this. Oyster, $1.50 each, prior to tax- We ordered 2 of each of the 6 different kinds. Each were very delicious but had their own unique flavors. We would have ordered more but we had lunch only a few hours before. ---------------------- (Total= $46.44 after tax, prior to tip) The alcohol is rather expensive but with the cheap oysters they sell, I guess they have to make money somewhere right? Anyways, the employees were friendly and the restroom I used was clean upon this visit and adequately stocked with all the essentials. Would definitely come back for more oysters if I lived in this area. There is plenty of free parking in the lot.

Yelp
Came here for lunchtime oysters while visiting Portland in August. No wait, very quick service, very casual place. They had 6 different varieties that day (all local from the Maine coast), so we tried all of them. Over the past few months, I've been fortunate enough to eat fresh, local oysters along the Rhode Island coast and the northern Washington coast (Bellingham). The reason I provide that context is because the oysters at The Shop in Portland were superior to any of the oysters we had in RI or Washington - they were truly fantastic. And at $2 per oyster, the value is unbeatable. I plan on returning here during any & all future Portland trips
google avatar

Miranda F.

Yelp
This place is amazingggg! Counter service top-quality oysters, cute instagrammy aesthetic, at a super reasonable price- $1.5 each! They have cocktail, beer & wine options too! So good we got 4 dozen Will return next time we're in the area!

Alex C.

Yelp
One of my favorite oysters places! I've been twice now and I've been impressed both times. All of their ala carte oysters are under $2 and were extremely fresh and tasty. We also ordered some dressed oysters that had creme fraiche and salmon roe, and they were delicious as well. Our group also tried some tinned fish and I particularly enjoyed the tinned yellow tail that came with toast, butter, mustard, pickled onions and pickles- I could eat this weekly. The staff were great and let us know which oysters were which and helped us navigate their menu.

Yelp
This is the restaurant front for the company that supplies oysters to many places in the country. Super cheap and fresh seafood. We were here 3 years ago during Covid days and came back 3 years later. The places is still as awesome as always. Their oysters are always fresh. Plus we always leave with a few tins of sardines and other seafood(from Spain!)

C. A.

Yelp
Oysters are amazing. We got a sampling of all the available varieties and each one was better than the next. Crab roll & the chips & dip were zippy and refreshing.

Meyson L.

Yelp
Definitely worth checking out!! Good fresh oysters and side dishes. I will come back again.

Yelp
About three months ago, my friends and I dropped by this place for some raw oysters. It wasn't very crowded on a November night. We got a set of the Pleasant Cove, Mere Point, Winnegance, Flying Point, Wilds, and Norumbega oyster. For a $1.50 each, it was definitely a bargain! The oysters were very fresh and plump. I definitely loved the Norumbega oysters the most. They also serve beer and soft drinks. There's also complimentary iced water as well. The shop was a great place to chill and relax while enjoying your oysters. I wish we had one of these places in the Boston area!

Yelp
The Shop is one of the places that I recommend to all my friends who visit Portland. I love that it's a no frills spot - you mark your order on a slip of paper, pay at the counter, and wait for the oysters. At $1.50 an oyster, what more could you ask for?! There's always a good selection here, and my boyfriend and I will usually order 2 of each so we can try everything that's available. The cocktail sauce here is YUM, and has the perfect amount of horseradish in it. We usually order a second round after trying everything, so we can get more of our favorites. I can't wait for our next trip up to Portland! The Shop is a MUST visit for us every time.

Yelp
A fabulous oyster experience. We arrived with our two kids who are huge oyster fans - the staff were so pleasant and kind. We ordered two dozen oysters, tinned mussels and some cocktails. Everything was fabulous! The kids both loved the tinned mussels, and the oysters were some of the best we've had. (Our favorites were the Abigail Pearls from Scarsborough) All in all a fabulous experience!

Yelp
I'm a simple man. When I think shellfish, I think a big open shop, a walk-up counter, and some salty seaperson angrily taking my order. Two out of three ain't bad. In this case your order is taken by a peppy hipster with a jaunty cap. But no where is perfect. I keep gravitating towards this place every time I'm in Portland, even if I'm not hungry. The place is spacious, the vibe is calm and the oysters. The oysters. I really think this place is a glitch in the Matrix because every oyster I have here is phenomenal. Laws of probability say that that shouldn't happen, but it does. Left alone at this place, I'll probably slaughter an entire school(?) of oysters. They're just so good. I haven't had their tinned fish. Because nothing sounds appetizing about those words. Also, the oysters are so good, why waste stomach real estate? More, please.

Yelp
We were craving oysters and since this had a lot of high reviews we were so excited to try. We got an assortment of a dozen oysters and they were only 1.5 each! However, the flavor was a bit lacking - all of them were super salty that it took away from the oyster itself. There wasn't one that we felt was overly salty. Not sure why that was but was definitely disappointed. We also got a rose and a white wine which was decent but nothing out of the ordinary.

Yelp
The oysters were great and they have a nice ordering system. Also it's reasonably priced. We enjoyed exploring the hipsterish blocks of the East End and stopping here for oysters was the highlight.

Yelp
It's pretty simple: amazing, fresh oysters at a decent price and delicious Bloody Mary's. My friends weren't big oyster people so they sampled one or two but I unashamedly ordered a whole dozen for myself with no regrets. I also got the scallion crudo (not pictured) which was phenomenal!

Yelp
Looking for a great place to have fresh oysters and tasty drinks with friends? Then this is the perfect place. Compared to many of the places in the Portland area, they are hands down the most reasonable in price. You are handed a list via a server and you make the selections you'd like and take it to the cashier. From there you can also order your beverages. I highly recommend the Spritz or the Bloody Mary. The servers are all very friendly. The oysters are delicious and the overall vibe is just very chill. If you're a fan of fresh oysters, I only have wonderful things to say about The Shop. I highly recommend coming in and checking it out.

Yelp
Really great oyster place in the Portland area! We came here ~11 on a Saturday morning and there was no wait to seat us. The place had a few people, but there was definitely more of a crowd towards when we left around an hour later - definitely come here for an earlier snack if you don't want to wait for a table! We had a party of 5 and decided to share 36 oysters. At $1.50 each, it definitely was a good price for the quantity and quality that we got - each oyster was delicious and well-shucked! I personally enjoyed the snow island variety as it wasn't too fishy but still had a smooth taste going down. We didn't try any of the drinks here, but almost everyone had a bloody mary when we looked around. We'll definitely have to try one next time - you also get a free oyster with it if you buy one!

Yelp
Good vibes, good oysters, simple but tasteful beer selection. My only gripe is that the happy hour times are only advertised (as far as I saw) in two places, a sign at the edge of the business and outside of the bathroom on the inside. The deals themselves were on the napkin holders but not the times? Might've ordered another snack haha :)

Yelp
Great place for oysters but also loved adding canned fish and a few other items. No frills and casual. Really loved it and one of the best ways to enjoy some raw oysters. Able to get right in without a wait and the staff are great. Highly recommended.

Yelp
MUST VISIT! My boyfriend and I arrived here on a Saturday around 4:30pm and were seated immediately. They are doing indoor and outdoor seating. You get an ordering slip, fill in what you want and bring it up to the register to order. Matiz mussels - so tender and flavorful! Need to get. We were so blown away by these we ordered a second around for each of us. They paired perfectly with the salted and chive butter. Ramon Pena yellowfin tuna - also very tender and flavorful but not as special as the mussels. They paired perfectly with the mustard. Anchovies toast - good but nothing super special. Oysters- super fresh and delicious!

Yelp
Got a dozen of oysters and all of them are fresh. Well handled oysters and the origins are well described in the order sheet. They also have sardines and caviar which we did not get a chance to try but they looks pretty nice. Was told to serve along with crackers.

Yelp
We were so excited to come here to try some fresh oysters and the shop surely did not disappoint! We came here right when they opened at 11am. You order on the ordering sheet and bring it up to the counter to pay. We decided on two of every type of oyster and one order of the dressed oysters. The dressed oysters were ready first and they were so flavorful! The sauces really complimented each other. Then came our tray of 12 oysters. They were so delicious and tasted so fresh! Our favorite sauces were the horseradish and the mignonette. The saddest part was that we finished them so quickly!
