Such an amazing massage and spa experience. Celebrating my friend's birthday, we had deep tissue massages, spent time enjoying all the spa amenities was a plus! They have snacks and tea while you wait for your massage to unwind. You can enjoy snacks and relax after as well. They are prepared for everything from cleansing cold towelttes after the hot saunas, to a cooling zone if you need more than that. They have areas to shower, then fully dry and fix your hair and makeup before heading out. The shopping area is absolutely adorable.

The spa was fabulous from beginning to end. Four of us all went on a Thursday morning for a birthday. We got there about an hour before our scheduled appointment to enjoy the plunge pool, the sauna, and the steam room. The amenities were fabulous and Rosa, the attendant, was amazing. We went through a number of towels and had champagne and snacks and she was attentive and made sure we were taken care of! Once we got to the quiet room, all 4 massage therapists came and got us at once and we all finished at the same time. The massage was amazing! They were all personalized based off of our intake form. Once we were done, the Kevin Murphy amenities in the shower were so great! We definitely will be back for other special occasions.

The Spa at The Post Oak Hotel offers a beautiful environment that exudes comfort and luxury. Upon entering the spa we were welcomed and treated well. Our attendant walked us back to the locker rooms quickly after arriving. We then got ready for our massages which started on time. The rooms are so serene, massage beds are comfortable and temperature controlled and massages were wonderful. I booked for 3 people to celebrate a milestone birthday. Our massage therapists Sarah, Felecita and Rolando were all very attentive and asked questions before beginning the massage, they also checked throughout the massage to ensure we had the right pressure. After the massage we use the facilities and enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. The locker room is pretty busy for a Saturday but manageable. The checkout process was also quick and easy. We all enjoyed our first time experience.

My best friend and I booked the couples massage on a Friday and were able to get in on Sunday. The front staff was very friendly as well as our attendant she constantly checked on us to make sure we were good. The massages were good as well, very relaxing yet still firm. The amenities were a great addition as well.

My husband and I got a couple’s massage here for our anniversary and every step of the experience was amazing. The staff were all friendly and welcoming and made every step of the process feel like a luxury experience. The facilities were beautiful and the massage felt amazing. Highly recommend!

Google
Misleading Information and Disappointing Service. I had a disappointing experience at the spa. We were told by two different staff members prior to booking that we could access the hotel pool and amenities after our massages. After paying $400 each for a 60-minute massage, we learned the pool was only available for spa guests Monday through Thursday. If we had known, we wouldn't have booked on a Saturday, as the pool is one of the main attractions of the spa. Additionally, the spa was crowded, making it impossible to enjoy the hot tub or steam rooms. The massage was good, but not worth the cost without the promised access. When we complained, the staff was dismissive and lacked empathy. I would not recommend this spa due to their poor communication and service.

Google
I wasn’t going to leave a review because I hate to complain but it’s been almost a week since my visit and I haven’t stopped thinking about how subpar the experience was. A friend and I booked for a massage last week. We both had to tell our masseuses multiple times that we wanted them to be more firm while massaging. There were multiple times throughout that I was jumping because it literally felt like I was being tickled. It was as if he was nervous to massage deeper. We arrived late so our massage was cut off drastically. While that’s expected, most places will tell you if they can still accommodate for the full time allotted. However, they did not tell us or give us the option to reschedule for a different time due to our tardiness. Had we known they couldn’t offer the service for the full time, we would’ve cancelled or rescheduled. At the end of our massage, the masseuses left for us to get dressed. Less than 5 minutes later, the masseuse knocks and asks if we’re ready, we told her we needed a few more minutes. Her response was “well, come on”. Her tone was very nasty and aggressive. I’ve visited this hotel before and was always satisfied with the service. This visit left a bad taste in my mouth and makes me hesitant to come back. I’m upset that we weren’t able to receive our full service without being notified that we wouldn’t get the full 60 minutes. I absolutely hated the massage and after a while wanted him to just stop. Lastly, I did not appreciate the way the masseuse rushed us out of the room. If the time that we arrived cut that close into another appointment, I would’ve much rather they had told us that instead of giving us mediocre and rushed service.

I love coming to Post Oak spa. I received a massage from Ronaldo and it was the best massage I’ve gotten in a long time. 10/10 I was so relaxed when I left. I can’t wait to go back.

Yelp
The spa amenities are great! You definitely leave with an experience. My massager was so sweet I loved her but have I got better massages elsewhere, yes! But still a great experience.

Yelp
AN EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTING AND FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE. I wanted to book a massage for my birthday to relax and treat myself. As you all know, the massages at the Post Oak Spa are quite expensive, so you'd expect that the service you receive would be on par with the pricing. I booked a 90 minute deep tissue massage. I receive these types of massages often so I am accustomed to being worked on with deeper pressure. However, the technician working on me used some type of technique that yielded in a significant amount of pain, so much so that I did not allow her to finish the treatment. Once I laid on my back, I felt a radiating pain throughout my back as if I had a pinched nerve. Instead of finishing the massage, I asked her if she could try to help alleviate the pain. She attempted to alleviate the pain she caused with cold stones, an ice pack, and later some ibuprofen. She openly admitted that I was experiencing pain and discomfort to the locker room attendant, a pain that I got during the massage. Later, someone else visited me in the locker room to take my statement on what had occurred. Everyone had profusely apologized, which did make me feel acknowledged but the apology didn't take away the pain or the $450 massage bill. I could not sleep that night due to the pain I was in. Days later, my back was still tight and uncomfortable. I had been needing to start or end my day with Tylenol. It took about a full week for the pain to go away. This is a pain acquired at the spa during this massage as I did not have it prior to the massage. As you can understand, the whole point of a massage is to feel relaxed afterwards, not more tense or uncomfortable. Truthfully, I should have refused payment at the time of service but I was extremely frustrated and did not want to take out my frustrations at the front desk staff. Additionally, I was rushing to get to my son's football game and needing to finish getting ready. I did tip the masseuse as she was very apologetic and obviously did not hurt me on purpose, but adding a tip to a service that caused me pain did frustrate me even further. I tried to have this dispute rectified offline, but SEVERAL emails went ignored. I was promised a call back to discuss the situation and I did not receive a second call. After several attempts to reach someone, I was finally told that they "did an investigation" and found themselves to be NOT negligent. Not negligent? Then why did my massage end early? Why was I treated with cold stones, ice, and pills? Why was I asked to write down a statement? Why was I in pain for a week? They denied ANY responsibility and clearly didn't review the facts of that day. They made ZERO attempts to rectify this in any way. I would have been fine with even a partial refund. I paid several hundreds of dollars to be injured, disappointed, and even more stressed than when I walked. I will absolutely NEVER EVER be coming back and will be telling everyone else I know to go elsewhere.

Yelp
Went for my second visit today. My massage therapist, Rolando, is one of the best I've ever had. Darene the attendant was super kind and found me a cord for my power block. (houston had a storm this week & many of us are without power) The other attendant went & got us the peanut butter bites when I asked about them. We loved them at our last visit. I agree that the vibration chairs in the quiet room are to die for. And the robes are so cozy. My only complaint is the other patrons. There was a large group of about 8 girls & they were ridiculously loud. I could hear them during my massage as unfortunately I was in a front room. I did mention this at check out & was advised to avoid Friday - Sunday. My previous visit, another patron commented on how this is too much of a "scene" for her. Please, if you are going here, respect the other people present. Don't hog the heated chairs & consider using your indoor voice.

Yelp
This place is HEAVEN. I've been in Houston for 7 years and hands down this is, one of the best spas! the check in experience, to relaxation, to services, it's truly amazing. The spa itself is truly impeccable. The pool, sauna, steam room, no detail is lacking. The heated chairs by the floating pool are beyond amazing. Bring a book, order champagne and enjoy the day! The aromatherapy shower after services is excellent! Order lunch and relax before or after services, it's a delight! Highly, highly recommend treating yourself. This place is amazing!

Yelp
Best massage ever!! I typically frequent Trellis but booked here due to availability. No regrets.

Yelp
Best spa in Houston but recently it's different. They moved the Women's to the Men's side. No vanities, no private dressing. They also don't have the cinnamon sugar balls anymore.

Yelp
I seriously don't understand how someone can give this place less than five stars. I've had the opportunity to visit The Spa at The Post Oak Hotel about 3-4 times. I am very fortunate to have been introduced to The Post Oak by my good friend who lives in Houston. The first time we got massages here, I thought I died and went to heaven. Turns out, I was just blissfully relaxed and able to enjoy massages and all the amenities at The Spa on subsequent visits to Houston. I typically only get the 60-minute Purely Relaxing Massage or the 60-minute Deep Knead Massage because I equally enjoy spending time using the awesome amenities. Between the tranquility pool, aroma steam room, and the cool multi-sensory shower experience, I am a big fan. But, my favorite amenities are actually the chairs in the relaxation room just prior to the massage appointment. I feel like I am on the moon in those chairs (hey, they're zero gravity!!), coupled with the option of having hot tea and little delicious bomb protein snacks. We've also ordered lunch and a drink once or twice. Everything in the spa is so, so clean and the service is incredible. I could truly spend all day at The Spa at the Post Oak if they'd let me!!! One of my favorite spas that I've been to in the entire world! If I haven't made it clear...Treat yo'self and get yo'self to The Spa at The Post Oak!

Yelp
For this price, it just doesn't hit the mark. Spending over $300 for a one hour massage I just expect so much more. Checked in for my bday, wasn't offered the complimentary beverage. Had to ask after the massage. (I let them know it was my bday at the time of booking) The hot tub area gets very crowded and loud, not relaxing at all. Massage was decent, nothing special. Therapist was nice, but I wasn't impressed. Would I return? Probably not.

Nicole A.

Yelp
This location has a lovely ambiance but my massage therapist hurt my back as I immediately experienced muscle spasms when he was done. That night I went home to rest hoping the pain would subside. It only worsened!! The next day I literally could not MOVE out of bed and had to call for assistance to go to urgent care for my back. I called and spoke to a manager on duty at the front desk which promised to have the spa manager return my call but no one ever did. This is unacceptable and extremely alarming as I have never experienced this after 15 years of massages. It's totally neglectful after paying for a massage and a facial that I could not enjoy while having back spasms.

Yelp
My massage was great but I am giving this place 1 star for a reason beyond the massage. I went for a 90 min massage this past Sunday and everything was great as far as the massage. But, the ice spigot AND the steam room were both "out of order" and undergoing maintenance. I had a friend come here months ago before me and she told me that the same thing happened to her when she came. I'm really upset and wish that they would have told me that when I was checking into my appointment. I was only about to use 1 amenity out of the spa which was the sauna. I wish that the staff would tell you that there are things undergoing maintenance. It's ridiculous that you spend so much money on the spa and experience and I wasn't able to use it to the full effect.

Yelp
This place is everything! Perfect ambiance and staff was amazing! Could be here all day...

Yelp
I never take the time to write reviews but I had to come and give praise for the amazing hospitality I received a week ago from the staff but especially the spa manager Jannie. There was a human error made in the system and I was sent a confirmation for a massage the next day. I automatically thought it was a surprise gift but when I showed up at the appt time the mishap was discovered. Of course I was disappointed because I had taken off of work and live 40 mins away. Once Jannie heard that she apologized and immediately told me she would take care of me for the inconvenience. She gave me a robe and locker right away and allowed me to use all of the amenities in the spa area, provided complimentary champagne, and even offered to buy me lunch. It was also as soon as they opened so there weren't many people there. That means i got to enjoy the entire spa area by myself for almost an hour. The entire time I was there she checked on me occasionally or had someone else to do so. She even comped my valet. Oh, and one of the men at the front desk gave me a complimentary organic juice afterwards that was absolutely delicious. Everyone was just so kind and accommodating. Based on the customer service alone I will be back soon!

Yelp
Atmosphere was calming. Great staff. Relaxing massage and Facial. The spray used in the room before and after massages smelled sooo good. Clean rooms. I enjoyed the experience.

Yelp
Came here today as a part of my birthday self-care day and noticed it was a little busy but thought nothing of it. The services for the beldi black scrub and pure cleanse facial were great! My visit was spoiled due to someone on Facetime near the tranquility pool having a very loud conversation. Mind you, I'm coming out of the steam room completely naked when I notice. They have a lot of team members constantly walking around so the fact that this wasn't addressed until I said something was beyond ridiculous. Even as I was leaving and checking out, I could still hear her loudly talking on the phone. Spoiled the entire day and it's even more frustrating considering the price point. I paid $468 not including the extra gratuity and the most they offered was comped valet. tldr: overpriced for inconsistent experience

Yelp
I really really love and appreciate my sister! We are a year apart and were raised as twins. I promise you we have twin similarities. It's uncanny. That being said, my sister rolls the red carpet out when it comes to my birthday especially since it's just another day to me. I have literally forgot it was my birthday some years unless Facebook reminds me or family and friends planning an outing. That being said, my sister treated me to a 90 minute medium pressure massage. I would have taken more pictures of the pristine and relaxing spa but once you get checked in there's a whole lot of nakey nakey and I'm sure that wouldn't pass the Yelp muster for appropriate photos. Once we checked in we put on our bathing suit and a plush robe and spent some time in the jacuzzi with other guests. We came 30 minutes early to enjoy the jacuzzi. Then we were lead to our separate rooms to enjoy our massage. Caveat: drink a LOT of water. Massage removes toxins from our muscles that are released into the blood stream and are flushed out by water intake. If you don't, you may feel nauseated, dizzy, or malaise. Get your water in! The massage was nice. You're naked under a light sheet and they uncover the area they are going to work on and make sure the pressure is nice. Also, they have a steam room and a shower. We showered quickly after the jacuzzi. After your massage you are offered water or coconut water. They also have delicious granola and chocolate covered almonds to snack on. We were also given free champagne to start for my birthday. It cost a little over $700 for both of us but I'm willing to bet it's the best in Houston. I plan to return with friends! It was an absolutely fabulous experience!

Yelp
I recently visited Post Oak Spa for a birthday spa treatment, and unfortunately, I left feeling quite disappointed with my experience. Communication is key in any service industry, and there was a lack of clear communication from the beginning. I received an email that suggested to arrive 45 minutes to an hour before treatment. I arrived an hour before, as suggested, and the spa was not open. From the moment I arrived, I didn't feel welcomed or valued as a customer. The staff appeared disinterested and inattentive to my needs. It's important for a spa to create a warm and inviting atmosphere, but sadly, this was not the case. The main reason for my visit was to receive a spa treatment, and I found it to be mediocre at best. When I checked in, I was told one of the amenities was not in service. Not a big deal, but this was not the case as multiple amenities were not working. I left feeling like I didn't receive value for my money. While checking out, I expressed my disappointment and did receive a "make good". I was told I could come back in and receive 25% off my next treatment. Why would I go back if my previous experience was below standards? If anything, I should have been provided a discount for the visit I complained about. I was also told I could come in and enjoy the amenities with a day pass, Monday - Thursday. Frustrating, because I already took a day off from work to pamper myself for my birthday. This would require me to take another day... I'm sure the spa could accommodate me on the weekend...one person on the weekend is not a huge request.

Yelp
I have been to many high end spas and I was looking forward to my spa day only to leave a little less than thrilled with my experience. We arrived early and as soon as we checked in, we were given a tour of the facility and robes to change into. We lounged by the whirlpool and enjoyed the heated seats surrounding the pool. We were not offered anything except mini bottles of water, but I noticed baggies of opened snacks sitting abandoned and a couple of people walking around with champagne. I was not aware that you had to request these items, but once I asked, the attendant brought us complimentary snacks. However, the champagne is not complimentary but runs $16 a glass. There were 3 of us with 12:00 massages but the attendant only took one of us to the quiet room and it was not until 12:05, that we began to wonder if they had forgotten us. We went to the front desk to inquire and apologies were made because they had in fact forgotten about us. We were also assured that the tardiness of the attendant would not cut into our massage time, however, the massage was shortened for one girl in my group and we were not pleased as the massages here are not cheap. I decided on the bamboo massage and it was nothing exciting. It felt like a basic swedish massage with a bamboo stick rolled over certain areas. I do not live in Houston, but our group consisted of 7 and the overwhelming agreement was that the Houstonian is way better than the Post Oak Spa.

Yelp
I had a 90 minute massage for Mother's Day. The massage was good. Not amazing. But what really bugs me is the steam room was broken. Part of what you are paying for is the amenities in the spa. When I checked out and told them I was disappointed that the steam room was broken they tried to act like I was wrong. So I said then come show me how to turn it on. I had called her bluff. I then told her that the attendant in the back had already confirmed that it was broken and had been for some time. Then the lady at the front desk then said this was the first they had heard about to being broken. Nonsense. At least 3 other women that left before me had complained. And the attendant had already told me it had been broken for a while. I won't be back.

Yelp
I travel to Houston monthly for business meetings, and sometimes frequent The Trellis @ the Houstonian for facials before or after meetings as a treat. This month, our group decided to meet at The Post Oak Hotel and Spa for spa treatments and dinner at the hotel. This spa has a very different feel than Trellis, and we really enjoyed it. The sauna area has tiled heated chaise loungers, steam room, crushed ice face bath, hot dipping tub, and dry sauna to enjoy before and after treatments. I loved my Luminescence facial and the relaxing chairs in the dark "quiet room." My group of girls loved their treatments, which ranged from body wraps to massages and various facials. Our lockers held a cute little amenity kit, robe, laundry bag, and slippers. The spa is smaller than the Trellis, but in a good way--it's perfect for a solo trip or small group of women to enjoy. Staff was terrific, my esthetician was so sweet I wanted to hug her after my facial. The hotel was gorgeous, and we loved walking through the 12 Days of Christmas display in the corridor on our way back from dinner. Can't wait to return next month!

Yelp
My bestie and I were here on Saturday. Her husband treated us to a spa day and scheduled it for us. It was a surprise for her and I couldn't be happier to go with her. This was a great experience overall. There's plenty of staff to help if you need it. I read in some of the reviews that they weren't happy with the ambience or the massage but that wasn't the case here. We had a wonderful relaxing experience. I had Emil and he was really great. Now here's for the kicker...My best friend's husband got us a gift card to take care of the experience. When I got to the counter, we had somehow run over the gift card. I believe he was misquoted but there was a "service charge" tacked on that was not on our gift card. I took care of it then proceeded to the Salon where the same thing happened. I think the SPA and SALON should be transparent about all of their charges if there are giftcards involved. You can't just list the service and catch your guests off guard at the register - just a suggestion. The parking validation was the same. We ended up paying something extra even after it was validated. Also, this "service charge" only pays 16% to the service tip so it wasn't even going directly to the massage therapist.

Yelp
Will keep it short & simple. I've been here twice (once for a birthday spa day - massage and facial) and once for a girls day facial. First time was great as it was mid week morning appointment. Second time was mid week afternoon appointment. Things to know: - Limited spots to self park in retail parking (like literally 20 spots). There are NO options to self park anywhere. If you find an open spot somewhere, you will be chased down by hotel staff to inform you that's for valet only. SO..... - Pretty much valet is your only option. We paid more than $200-300 for spa services and still have to pay for valet even though you're validated a measly $5. Valet is $11. So basically you still have to pay for valet + tip. - When we got there, the ONLY elevator to the spa was taken off line by the staff to clean it. The spa is on the 5th floor. There are no other elevators. There are no stairs you can take. You will have to wait. - The outdoors pool on the 1st floor is ONLY for use Mon-Weds b/c they don't care that you pay a ton of money for spa services, they don't want spa folk to infringe upon hotel guests during busy times. I think for high end spa services, I'll go back to Trellis or Fiori. Even Omni or St. Regis. There are other options that are easier and less stressful. I wanted to keep coming back here as I enjoyed the services itself. But for the headache unless I'm coming at 9am on a Monday I won't be coming back.

Yelp
Came here for my birthday and the staff made it such a special experience with champagne and chocolates after my massage. I loved all the spa amenities and actually used them (sauna, tranquility pool, multi sensory shower). Super clean and COVID friendly. Will definitely be going back in the future!

Yelp
I have visited this gorgeous spa about 5-6 times and have enjoyed it every time except for my last visit. My last visit was so horrible that I almost do not want to ever go back! For a spa like this and the price I paid for my facial, The experience I had was just unacceptable! Obviously, I had my eyes closed during my facial and had to open my eyes because it felt like my aesthetician was dozing off! When she was rubbing my neck, she kept losing strength in her hands and would stop at random spots and just lay her hands there! It got so weird so I kept my eyes open under the cotton pads she used to awkwardly cover my eyes.(I say awkwardly because it didn't fully cover my eyes! It only covered my eyelids! So weird) Then I saw her paused, went to grab a product from the sink, then getting low to see if my eyes were open .. talk about creepy... She also never had enough product in my face so when she was rubbing my skin, it was so dry and hurting my skin.. At the end, she told me that I had three milias on my face but she only got one out because she didn't have patience to get other two out!!! And of course, she didn't even offer me water as I walked out of my room! Ugh! I paid for luminescence and if that is how it should be, then I recommend you guys to save some money and just do a self-facial at home! She was not good and I am pretty disappointed that The Post Oak Spa would hire someone so incompetent...

Yelp
OMG, Don't walk but RUN to book your spa. I booked the inner me with Kayla (Due to trying to release negative energy and past trauma). Was not as spiritually releasing as I expected but overall it was great! I feel GREAT! Love the amenities that come with your booking, The steam room is my favorite. My personal host, Masogbe was great and very attentive. Overall a great experience and I will be back to try a different experience, bringing my mom along with me.

Yelp
Absolutely awful service. We checked in group of 5 and it started out great with fresh watermelon shots... then zero service. We were shown to lockers by our "attendant"; was told to change into robes and put into the locker and never saw her again. No instructions to set locker combo; missing care packages in locker; didn't show us the amenities/facilities. When we went to front desk to ask for her, she came back and gave us eye roll and attitude!!!; Btw.. groups are assigned an attendant and automatic gratuity of 25% . It was overbooked and all areas were messy; snacks weren't refilled; no cups for tea; no toilet paper in 2 of the stalls; no hand soap in toilet. List goes on. Snacks were refilled after we asked several times - but wished we didn't lol . It was a joke... stale nuts, pretzel and dried apricots.. worst snacks ever. Tea smelled like pee and no hot water for tea! Would give 1 star but lady who did my facial was very nice. Would never go back. Don't waste your money!!!!!!!

Yelp
My husband andI had the lumi ritual. Omg, it was so relaxing. The only downfall was that it wasn't long enough. My attendant was sweet, she took out time to show me around, very helpful. The place is absolutely gorgeous and smells wonderful. I would highly recommend.

Tiff E.

Yelp
Customer service was very poor. I was not shown to any of the amenities and was left to figure out everything for myself including where the waiting room was, the lockers etc. The attendant that was supposed to help me would not speak to me on her own accord and when I asked her where to go, she asked if I even had an appointment even though the front desk checked me in and assigned her to me. I could not believe the level of rudeness. The service I booked was the pure relaxation massage. The massage therapist was very nice but extremely pushy. He insisted that I have a deep pressure massage instead even though I knew it would be too much for me. The massage was not enjoyable at all and the techniques used were mediocre at best. My favorite part of the experience was the sauna and steam room. For a spa with high price points, the service and quality of massage should be much much higher. Even the woodhouse day spa is better. I suggest saving your money and going elsewhere if you are looking for a decent experience

Yelp
It is fine. Just fine. They allow you to spend an hour in the facility before and after treatment, not the day. There is no opportunity for a spa lunch or cocktails. The massage was good but hustling me out of the facility was unwelcome. It charges like a luxury spa but provides a very pedestrian experience.

Yelp
I had high expectations for this spa, but it missed the mark in almost every way. I love the Post Oak Hotel - I got married here and this hotel holds a special place in my heart. I have been to spas all over and don't mind paying the cost of treatment, but do expect the full experience to be stellar for the cost (and accolades this place gets). The experience was....minimal. There is one hot tub (nice experience!), a dry sauna (standard), and a wet sauna (smelled completely like mildew). There are comfortable chairs to relax in. There are Post Oak water bottles up for grabs everywhere (nicely branded, but just plain water). This is the first spa I've ever one to that doesn't have fruit infused water or snacks to enjoy. I went to the restroom before my facial and 2 out of the 3 stalls didn't have toilet paper. How?! The quiet room was comfortable, but again, would have appreciated snacks or a beverage other than a water bottle. It looked like they may have had some snacks at some point that day, but had never been refilled. The facial itself was just okay. Very forgettable. Didn't feel at all luxurious. After the treatment, my friends and I left promptly because the spa was closing for a private event about 15 minutes later (that would have been nice to know when we initially booked). Anyway, that was the experience. Enjoyed it because I was with my friends, but it was nothing special at all ---- there are better spas in Houston.

Yelp
We recently celebrated our anniversary there. This place is very well-known and five stars rated for the hotel as well as for the spa (I will not trust Forbes ratings anymore). We were sort of disappointed. The massage itself was good but probably the most expensive massage that I've had. Even though their amenities are not available due to Covid restrictions they charge the full amount AND a 20% gratuity for the services. This I found pretty unreasonable. They asked for and validated my valet parking card but the valet still charge me for parking so I'm not sure what was the validation for? We did have lunch at the bloom and bee restaurant afterwards and the chicken soup there is pretty pathetic. The flat bread, drinks, and the desert are amazing though.

Yelp
There is a reason that The spa at the Post Oak Hotel doesn't have 5 stars on yelp and 4.3 stars on google. If Mr. Fertitta is reading this, he should highly consider replacing the current management. When paying $180 for a Swedish massage (when there are tons of much cheaper options in Houston) one would expect a beyond amazing massage. Sadly that was not the case. I actually left quite upset and disheartened that such a nice hotel spa could provide such a subpar massage. The facilities are nice but if the massage is not up to par than what's the point. There are too many places in Houston to choose from to spend ones hard earned money at.

Yelp
I'm surprised at all the negative reviews listed on here, as my experience at the spa was great! I booked two couples massage + the 60 minutes quiet time prior to the service and everything was impeccable. The quiet time room was perfect - very clean, roomy, and romantic. We both had the Balinese massage and it was hands down the best massage I've ever had. My masseuse Mike was great. All the amenities in the locker room were clean and well stocked. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and would definitely be back! :)

Yelp
Everything about this place is top notch. I take clients to the spa every year and we usually visit Trellis, but this year they were under construction so I was recommended by a coworker to go to Post Oak spa instead as they were supposedly even nicer. I can say with full certainty that they aren't even in the same league- Post Oak spa outclasses Trellis (and my expectations) in every aspect. From the booking of our party of 10, to last minute changes and recommendations the spa staff was phenomenal and went above and beyond in every way. Christina was so easy to work with, and even accommodated some last minute changes and requests that we had a few days before our appointments. If you're hosting a group and plan on having lunch, the spa room is beautiful and so easy to move from food to services- highly recommend it. The spa's standard champagne is also delicious, get a few bottles of bubbly that you can drink from lunch to relaxation room and locker rooms. The women's and men's locker rooms are separate, with each having their own relaxation pool, hot tub, sauna, aromatherapy shower, and locker rooms. There is a co-Ed relaxation room where you can wait for your service in the quiet. Everything was clean and relaxing, and service was on point. The only thing I will warn you of is the elevators to get to the spa are the same as the hotel, so during peak movement times you may have a delay waiting for an elevator. Plan accordingly!

Yelp
I booked a friend and I a spa day here and I was a little disappointed. While the amenities are very nice and the staff are friendly, I had much higher expectations for The Post Oak. The area is small, water was the main drink option and while we did get mimosas at the end, it was not offered when we arrived. The massage was just OKAY but certainly not worth the $180. I was expecting the ambiance to be more like the Ritz but it does not compare. It also does not offer any food options or areas to relax in private besides the waiting area before you get the massage. The oil/lotion used for the massage smelled funny, like rubber, and my masseuse was not wearing a mask, which made me feel uncomfortable. The best part were the robes. I'm not sure I will be back...

Yelp
I went here for my 10 year anniversary with my husband. I booked a couples massage for around $500 for the hour- but money wasn't my concern. It is the complete lack of attentiveness or customer service. Our anniversary couples massage with champagne got us in two separate single individual rooms. Christina (spa "manager") is especially awful. I explained prior to departing to Christina The unfortunate issue that I saw an individual woman in front of me go into the couples room. She said that wasn't the case. It was- I SAW it. Christina very shockingly stated the only discount they could offer was to take off the gratuity for the service providers. And then stated "and I'm sure your actual treatment was adequate so you wouldn't likely want to do that." No, you're right, that's NOT what I want to do. I'd like the treatment itself discounted that the front desk obviously screwed up. Not punish the poor people that work for tips providing the service! I have honestly, as a professional, spoken to a manager whose sole remedy to correct a solution is to subtract the gratuity. Pitiful practice- for clients and the poor people that work for this place.

Yelp
Great locker room - it's definitely one of the best out there. Also, great service and great massage therapists! Would definitely recommend this spa!

Yelp
Impeccable service and ambiance...we did 2 treatments, deep tissue massages and the body wrap detox.. During sessions, we were able to relax on the quiet room, sauna and aromatherapy sessions....

Yelp
One star is even too much for this place. Absolutely awful! The facial was a joke. For 220 dollars it should have been wayyy better. I think the lady just came out of cosmetology school. She didn't do anything but a facial massage and apply some creams and mask which I could do at home. The amenities are hilarious. They over book people so there wasn't even anywhere to sit and relax because all the chairs where taken . The dipping pool/ hot tub was full like a spring break party in Cancun. They also didn't come get one of the people in our party until 15 minutes after her facial was supposed to start. When we inquired they said we couldn't find her in the quiet room. Really? No one mentioned anything about waiting in the quiet room . Apparently someone is supposed to come get you and take you there a few minutes before the treatment but no body came to get her or even told us anything about a quiet room. When I went to ask the manager she said they would try to give her the 15 minutes that were lost but that never happened . After she went into her facial another one of our friends had arrived for her later appointment. As I was telling her what happened while she was in the locker room two nasty women were rolling their eyes and making comments about me for complaining. Seriously?'!!! They were talking loud on purpose so I could hear them so I said " well you would be upset too if you lost 15 minutes from a very expensive service due to the spas error. She got loud and ghetto and said I wasn't talking to you. I told her you may not be talking to me but your talking about me and I can say whatever I want to whomever I want so mind your own business. She proceeded to tell me girl I am not the one and don't test me today. I just laughed and walked off. I'm not going to continue and stoop to their level. She went and told the manager . Tell her what exactly? That I am talking to my friend in the locker room about my own business ?!! Mind you these are the same girls who were talking all loud and drinking in the hot tub with a bunch of other people . I was accosted by these two women and management didn't care although the manager did note that I didn't do anything wrong and rolled her eyes towards them. I wasn't going to let them bother me though. Don't really care for people like that . They can be miserable and nasty all day long if they want . I don't really care. On another note, the spa includes a 20 percent tip in the fee and a 4 percent tip for the hotel and you still have to also pay for valet. I wouldn't come back here if you paid me to. Overall nightmare experience.

Yelp
I love this place!! I have came here 3 times in the past year and they have always had top notch service. I came here yesterday for my birthday and I left my really expensive Versace 14k gold watch in my locker. They found my watch and notified me immediately after finding it. Just WOW, the people who work there are so honest and good human beings. I have been to many spas all over the world and this is my favorite one.

Yelp
Over-priced for what it is. It is tiny, compared to Trellis at the Houstonian. This is a problem if you like to lounge because one big group (I.e. 5 ladies celebrating something) made the place feel crowded. I had high hopes. My oxygen facial was good and I did have a bit of a glow afterwards.

Yelp
This is the best spa in Houston. Which given it is the only five star hotel in Houston it should be the best spa. I got a facial and relaxed afterward by the hot tub. The steam room was very nice as well. The only thing I wished the spa could also have is the ability to order food up to the spa. I understand maybe it is a sanitation issue but still wish it was available. The spa has many services to choose from which a lot of the ones they carry other spas don't have. I have frequented many spas in Houston and enjoy this one the best. I treat myself to one spa day a month and love trying new spas although this will be now be on my regular rotation.

Yelp
While this is a beautiful spa, you'd better be ready to pay big bucks. I would definitely save your money and go somewhere else. Not worth the money.

Yelp
I've been twice and for a 5 star diamond hotel the service and communication is poor. I was supposed to have my third appointment today. After receiving reminders for the first two appointments I expected the same. I don't Mind paying cancellation fees becAuse I understand time is money but I was told reminders are a courtesy. Well if that's the case be consistent. Either way the services are not that great I went more for the location but I'll find a more consistent and reliable option.

Yelp
I had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff and the amenities are all five star. The decor is really beautiful. I am so glad I chose to spend my birthday at this spa! I'll be back..

Yelp
This hotel and spa exceeded expectations! It's beautiful and the service and ambiance was excellent. The couples suite experience was exceptional in every way! Eric did an incredible job with my deep tissue massage - the best I've ever had! I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Pre-Covid review: Beautiful spa and excellent services. I came here for a girlfriend 's weekend and got a massage and facial. It was a little pricey but that is expected given that it's a hotel spa and the type of spa it was. I have visited several spas in and outside of Houston and would recommend this spa. The atmosphere, services, amenities, and customer service were worth it. The spa is very modern, clean, and luxurious. It is spacious, which worked out for my group. I also prefer spas that I have a lot of treatments and amenities to offer. The relaxation room had gravity chairs, which was great! They also provided coffee, tea, and snacks. It was relaxing and very serene. I really liked the pool and steam room as well. My massage was relaxing and just what I needed! The therapist listened to what I wanted and was excellent! My friends and I really enjoyed our spa stay and would return!

Yelp
Really disappointing visit recently at the Spa, visited for a couples massage with my wife and had a very below average experience. First of all, our massage therapists were below average, when you take into account the cost, it was very disappointing. In addition, two of the last three times the sauna in the men's locker room has been out of service. To top the experience off, I accidentally left my $500 Gucci sunglasses in my locker, after realizing 30 minutes later that I had left them and I called to secure them with the Spa, no one had found them or turned them in. Two weeks later, no one has found them or turned them in. Extremely disappointing, not something I would expect staying here.
