We had an incredible dinner at The Sparrow in Midtown and honestly can’t stop thinking about it. First off, Raquel was our server and she was amazing—super friendly, helpful, and made us feel totally taken care of without ever being overbearing. We ordered a ton of food and loved everything. The Peking duck was the star—crispy, flavorful, and carved perfectly. The ribs were insanely tender, and the Golden Mountain chicken had this sweet-savory glaze that was just addictive. The hot and sour soup was rich and comforting, the soup buns had that perfect burst of broth, and the pan-fried dumplings were crispy on the bottom and so satisfying. The salt and pepper squid was light, crunchy, and gone way too fast. We also tried several of their cocktails—each one was creative, well-balanced, and just really fun. It’s clear they put real thought into the drinks as much as the food. Overall, it was just one of those dinners where everything clicked—great atmosphere, awesome service, and fantastic food. Can’t wait to go back.

The overall dining experience at this Chinese restaurant was outstanding. The dishes were refined and flavorful, making it an ideal choice for those who enjoy traditional Chinese cuisine with a creative touch. Starting with the Garlic Snow Pea Tips, they were light and refreshing. The pea shoots were tender and cooked to perfection, while the garlic added a rich aroma without overpowering the dish—perfect for diners who enjoy fresh, green vegetables. The Shrimp Paste Crispy Pork was the highlight of the meal. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, it delivered an initial crunch followed by the unique umami of shrimp paste. Rich but not greasy, it was so addictive we couldn’t stop eating. The Steamed Branzino also of excellent quality. The fish was snowy white and delicately tender, with no trace of fishiness. The sauce was balanced just right, enhancing the natural flavor of the sea bass. It's a dish that truly showcases the chef's skill. The Spicy Mao Roast Duck brought a strong Sichuan-style aroma to the table. The duck skin was crisp, the meat firm yet juicy, and the mildly spicy seasoning made it irresistibly appetizing. It was bold in flavor but not oily—a well-executed dish for those who enjoy robust tastes. Lastly, the Szechuan Beef with Fresh Sichuan Peppercorns offered a rich, multi-layered taste. The beef was juicy and tender, and the fragrant numbness from the fresh peppercorns complemented rather than overwhelmed the beef's flavor. A must-try for lovers of the numbing spice. Overall, the restaurant shows great care in ingredient selection and flavor balancing. Each dish had its own unique character and highlights. Whether you're dining with family or catching up with friends, this place is highly recommended. Looking forward to coming back to try more dishes!

We came here for my birthday and everything was wonderful! Cody was our waiter and provided excellent service! We had a large party and all the cocktails, apps, and main courses came out in a timely manner. I can’t wait to go back so I could try more of their menu!

Cool hot Chinese food place downtown. Great cocktails! They have limited seating. But a great experience for the palate! Watch out for their rest room locks they don’t lock to well :)

A creative mind (bar master Angelina) is behind the drink menu of the Sparrow, among others, I highly recommend one of her creations, a twist on the old fashioned the Black Sparrow (pictured below) that has a bit of Chinese black tea in it among other ingredients. I know , I know, you might think "eew" or "what? tea in my whiskey?? good gawd no!"... however... if Angelina makes it, it will be made properly, with interesting ingredients and a rich pleasant taste [ make sure the cocktail is black otherwise it’s just an old fashioned ]. There is also another cocktail called the Cheng Du (pictured below) that has an evolving flavor as the ice melts, it’s interesting cocktail. As for the food, it’s Chinese Szechuan with a mix of new creative dishes for the curious and traditional dishes for the stalwarts. For appetizers, I’m quite the fan of the Dan Dan noodles (extra spicy) and the bang bang shrimp. My favorite dish there would be the pork ribs they are definitely a step above what I’ve tasted from the kitchens of other restaurants. I love how much flavor and effort they put into their dishes, they are a welcome and refreshing addition to Midtown! Give them some love!

Wanted to try a new Chinese restaurant, and happened upon the Sparrow! Wow! Glad we had reservations, because the place filled up pretty quickly. Since the veggie spring rolls were bland, I had my doubts about the rest of the food! Boy was I wrong! We ordered spicy kung-pao tofu (they readily swapped the chicken for tofu) and the cilantro chicken. They’re both served with rice. Both were so flavor-filled and the portions were quite large. I’d requested that the tofu be lightly sautéed versus deep fried, and they listened!! Being close to GT, the crowd is mostly college aged. The pleasant ambiance and simple decor are welcoming. We were lucky to find a parking spot in the front on a Friday evening.

I had a long layover and decided to venture in this restaurant from the MARTA. What a cozy, welcoming and delicious spot! Service was pristine. The vibes were chill for a 3pm spot but everything came out fresh, fast and delicious.

I only eat Szechuan food. Im a truck driver I dont have a local spot. So I eat Szechuan like once a month i meal prep them and i can eat it everyday for like a week. The Chongqing Chicken Pot 重庆鸡公煲was so good very peppercorn. There were 2 choices on the menu same item one says bone in one doesnt I chose no bone but got none so must be a menu mistake. Stir-Fried Green Beans干煸四季豆were szecan correct. Stir-Fried Cabbage炝炒高丽菜 correct. Dan Dan Dan Noodles 担担面o very good I recommend stirring it all the flavor was on the bottom. Fried Rice 炒饭was just good. I couldnt reqest spicy or add egg so just good. Everything was above and beyond worth the premium price. Packaged like ipaid a lot of money. No styrofoam stuff with liquid got a plasic bag around it. Defintely recomend this place

Yelp
Hip, authentic Chinese in midtown Atlanta. Growing up in the southeast, never thought I'd be able to say that, but here we are in the new ATL! Mahjong tiles as wall décor was a chic touch. All told, I think the highest praise I could probably give this place is my parents would enjoy eating here. Food is quality, and I can't wait to try more of the (pretty expansive and ambitious) menu. (Had the beef noodles and eggplant in fish sauce to start!)

Yelp
The Sparrow is a huge miss for me. We had a reservation and trust me you don't need one. This place was pretty empty for dinner and the ambience was not great. Service here was unknowledgeable and poor. Server was clearly new and wrongly answered questions when he did not know the answers. It's totally okay to say no!! Before ordering the three cup chicken, we asked the server if the chicken had bones and he said no. Upon receiving the chicken, it very much looked like the chicken had bones and upon trying it it most DEFINITELY had bones. Even worse these were not 'whole' bones as you would imagine on a chicken leg or chicken wing, but CUT bones as if a chicken leg was cut through the bone in several sections. This was very much a hazard as there were bone splinters in a chicken dish the server said "had no bones". We ordered the XLB, bang bang shrimp, szechuan noodle soup, three cup chicken, and double cooked pork. The XLB were so lackluster and bland and had no soup. The bang bang shrimp was 80% batter and a hint of shrimp. Tasted like mayo only. The noodle soup was fair and okay compared to the rest of the meal, but instant ramen is better imo. Three cup chicken had problems as stated above. For the price, service, and what we were served, this is a major bust. All in all, major skip and would prefer Xi'an around the corner.

Yelp
Fun Chinese fusion spot in Midtown that is pretty authentic! The sparrow is in the same block as the midtown Publix and there is supposedly validated parking in that lot, but we ended up just street parking since it was after hours. The inside is super modern and there's plenty of space inside. The four of us shared a bunch of dishes and there were a few that I didn't care for and a few that I really liked! Favorites: 1. Fried eggplant - loved how crispy it was and the seasonings! 2. Crispy beef - super tender and flavorful beef! 3. Fish in spicy soup - perfect for spice lovers and I felt like they gave a good amount of fish Least favorites: 1. Xiao long bao - I'm kinda a soup dumpling snob lol but I felt like these were underwhelming. Not enough soup inside! 2. 3 cup chicken - was not a big fan of the chicken, so would def try something else next time! I'll definitely be back to try some other dishes especially if I'm looking for Chinese in midtown.

Yelp
First of all, our server was good. He made some excellent recommendations, and the "support servers" were all quick and eager to please. I only have two complaints: 1. I like it when I never have to ask for more water. 2. Three cup chicken shouldn't have fiddly bones in it. Not for westerners, anyway. I did enjoy the three cups chicken, but I did not enjoy crunching into a chicken bone on my first bite, and I didn't enjoy having to remove tiny bones from the rest of the dish. Otherwise, our food was outstanding. Tasty. Spicy in all the right ways. The appetizers were excellent for sharing. We especially liked the soup dumplings and the crispy wonton wraps. The cocktails were strong and delicious. I think the Lychee drink was a winner. The fall margarita, not so much. The environs were clean with modern decorative finishes, and the restrooms were spotless.

Yelp
So one day I was walking through midtown. I was hungry. So I pulled up Google maps to see what was around. I was familiar with the offerings in the area ,but just want to see. We'll The Sparrow caught my eye.So I looked at their menu. I have to admit, they had me at Dan Dan noodles. If you have never had them I recommend you try them. Now I will admit,I don't like that they automatically charge you a 18% gratuity. IMO sometimes this can cause the waitress to not wanna provide top notch service. However both times I had a waitress named Bree. Both times she provided excellent service. I have had crispy beef with Dan Dan noodles on my first visit. Then just Dan Dan noodles on my second. So I recommend you give them a try and see what you think.

Yelp
OMG! So excited to have found this gem! Top notch service from PJ and the entire staff. PJ walked us through his menu favorites and we were so happy to have taken his advice. Very much kid friendly. The kids enjoyed the crispy chicken with white rice. The chicken has a pretty crispy batter but still delicious. The romaine lettuce with oyster sauce was unlike any other! I could literally eat this with just rice and be satisfied. The dumplings with sweetened soy sauce were amazing! My husband enjoyed the egg drop soup and Szechuan fish. Finally we shared the cumin chicken - easily a favorite! Will be trying it with lamb next time!

Yelp
I really enjoy Chinese food especially Szechuan dishes so I was looking forward to seeing what this restaurant had to offer. When you walk in, the space isn't huge, but it's very clean, with a bar off to the left and tables to the right. It wasn't busy when we arrived so we were greeted and seated right away. Ordered the Dry Fried Eggplant, Hot and Sour Soup, Xi Hu Minced Beef Soup, Crispy Wonton Wraps with Shrimp, Braised Fish in Chili Oil, Spicy Hunan Beef, and a Pomegranate Martini to drink. The Dry Fried Eggplant and Hot and Sour Soup tasted as expected and were good. I'm very glad I tried the Xi Hu Minced Beef Soup as I had never had it before and it was delicious(the cilantro and egg white were a nice touch). Sadly, the Crispy Wonton Wraps with Shrimp was a complete fail. They were too oily, the filling was bland, and the wonton cups were not crispy enough. The Braised Fish in Chili Oil and the Spicy Hunan Beef were both delicious and I wouldn't hesitate to order those again. The Pomegranate Martini was just ok and could have had more alcohol in it. The service was just ok overall as well, as it felt like our service was being rushed at times and there was one instance where there was some weirdness with the manager and a mixup with our order. That being said, the food was good enough overall to warrant 4 stars and I would return based on that alone.

Yelp
Bree is an excellent server. The best Chinese in Atlanta, hands down. Everyone here is professional, friendly. The green beans were awesome as well as the soup dumplings and the stir fried beef! It's a beautiful space too, clean.

Yelp
Found this spot on Christmas eve after being told by a regular at my old job, that midtown finally had a real Chinese place in ATL. My partner is from NYC and doesn't eat Chinese food ITP, because Buford hwy is the only place we can find Szchuan flavors... Not anymore. In the heart of midtown off west Peachtree is THE spot for authentic Chinese cuisines. We fell in love with Mahjong tiles along the wall, and stayed for the Szchuan cooked fish and cucumber salad they have two menus, one chef specialty menus and one with more Asian fusion options. Both have outstanding selection of flavors to match your cravings. Weekends have been filling up for reservations, but their takeout and is always hot and fresh. If you haven't been for their happy hour, you're truly missing out drink AND food specials and everything on their HH menu is under $7 with lots of selectiona under $5 So many Gluten Free and vegetarian options, I was super excited to find out their have gluten free sour sauce and glass rice noodles to accommodate allergy needs. Definitely a great date night spot that will only continue to get busier, head in there now when you can still walk in and check it out for yourself!

Yelp
I love Asian food, especially when it's got a kick. I heard about this place from a friend and came to check it out. AMAZING!! I went all out and got the Chongqing Blood Curd.....I cannot express how amazing it was! I wanted to try something authentic and that I have never had before....holy hell!! The food and service were AMAZING! The cocktails were awesome! And they have this amazing mural on the back wall and these cute lanterns hanging to add to the over all ambiance. Will be going again for sure!!

Yelp
The six of us enjoyed dinner here. All the food was very flavorful and delicious. The Dan Dan noodles and Lemon Bang Bang Shrimp were so good that we had to order some morel! , Stir Fried Pork Belly, Crispy Chicken, Soup Noodles, they were all delicious. I would like to try all the dishes in this restaurant especially Peking Duck! The staff was very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

Yelp
First let me say that I placed this order through Uber eats, I ordered the shrimp vermicelli, the biggest issue was that they didn't clean the shrimp therefore I wasn't going to eat it. I also ordered the dan Dan noodle and they noodles were over cooked, super mushy! I read all these great reviews on Yelp and my food was trash. I spent $40 on inedible food. I was so hungry that I turned around and ordered my old faithful, a cheesesteak from Hudson Grille on Marietta St., NOT the Hudson Grille on Peachtree.

Yelp
The customer service was amazing. Their martini's are my favorite. You can't beat their Happy Hour.

Yelp
Authentic Asian dining that has exceptional starters and main dishes. Definitely try the Dan Dan noodles and get the pork belly too. Will be going back to try the duck, which looked phenomenal! Finally the staff was above and beyond, very friendly and prompt! A must visit if in the midtown area

Yelp
Super quaint and gold-nugget restaurant hidden away next to Marlow's Tavern and J. Christopher's in midtown! The main menu has a large array of asian-fusion options and the portions are large enough to share family style. I had the Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) as an appetizer, half dozen to an order so I got two . For the entree I got crispy beef with hot numbing pepper and a side of lo mein - extremely crunchy beef and well seasoned. There is also a seasonal chef's special menu that is more traditional chinese cuisine - I tried the crispy pig feet and oh my good lord it's like the fat off baby back ribs that melts in your mouth. If you're feeling explorative, give those a shot, or another traditional dish the Chongqing Blood Curd! For drink I had the Pomberry Spritz, basically a cranberry pomegranate aperol spritz with prosecco on top. For $17 you feel your money's worth with that one lol. And for dessert I had the deep fried lychee with bean paste - crunchy and sweet and a great way to end this culinary journey. The service felt like you walked into someone's home and were their guest, very educational and guiding on different concepts of this cuisine. If you want an upscale asian-fusion chinese dining experience, definitely give this place a shot. Also Mon-Fri 2-5pm is happy hour wherethey have discounted apps and drinks!

Yelp
Came in for lunch one day and have been back every week since. My favorite thing is the Dan Dan noodles!! The Stir Fried Pork Belly is to die for as well but can be very spicy. The service is amazing! They really get to know you and make you feel like family. The ambiance is very comforting and the mural on the wall is so pretty. I recommend this place to everyone I talk to. Happy Hour is a must! 2-5 during the week, can't beat that!

Yelp
New Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood - welcome! I only had a quick lunch there, but the food and service were excellent. I'm looking forward to having a full dinner there. I hope they plan to fully utilize the attractive bar as a bar, and not just a place to stack to-go orders like some Midtown restaurants make the mistake of doing - Midtown loves our neighborhood bars in restaurants. Also, I hope they will be using that wide sidewalk to create a dining patio, next to Marlow's patio. Midtown is the place for sidewalk patio dining! If they can get the bar and patio full of regulars, they will do well.

Yelp
We went with a group of six and everyone enjoyed the food. We tried a few appetizers, vegetables, noodles, and mains. Everything was good. Normally, I expect brand new restaurants to have a few hiccups, but if this is just the beginning I look forward to a spectacular addition to the area. Our server was also amazing and welcoming.

Kara M.

Yelp
Great food! Every dish we had was great!! Large menu. Will definitely come back! Authentic Szechuan

Kye H.

Yelp
Service was quick and attentive. It seemed they had excellent team work - checking in on each other's tables, dropping off food and drinks. We received our appetizers in about 5 mins! (Wonton Soup was spot on!) Coming from California, I have been desperately missing true szechuan style Chinese cuisine. Our two entrees were the Cumin Lamb and the Pork Belly My partner and I were absolutely blown away by the balance of flavor and texture. Nothing was overcooked and everything was well seasoned with great presentation to add. Seating area is a plus if you're looking to take your date here nice dimmed lighting.

Yelp
The food was very good. The numbing pepper dishes were great! Our server was nice, but needed several reminders to bring silverware and chopsticks. Unfortunately, our cocktails were awful. I don't know if the bartender forgot simple syrup in both of our cocktails, but the flavors were lacking and they were both jarringly tart...and I don't like sweet cocktails. These were just made improperly. That was a shame. The ambience is just okay.

Yelp
The food wasn't good. Very bland. Hard rice. The water was nice. But would not recommended

Yelp
Everything is prepared in-house and from scratch, including sauces and juices for cocktails. Full Bar, excellent food. I loved the Singapore noodles. Cheesecake was one of the best I have had. Very friendly service, homely ambience and great options in the menu.
