Sweet little spot down the way from Cafe Frida, with a smattering of tables as well as 'counter' seating (although I don't recommend for those who need more comfortable chairs...the counter seats are slender and tall, and plain wood. In fact, the table seats were also bare bones...if you have a sensitive back, bring a soft pillow. Food is delicious but pricey (example: main dishes run as high as $40). A glass of sparkling chardonnay was $14. Reservations are highly recommended as the place is not roomy.

I have been wanting to come here for a while, and the food was pretty good. I absolutely love the vibe of this place, and the spinster fries are to die for!!! The reason I am doing 4 stars though is because of the price and quantity ratio. Their steak, which was fine/good, was flat iron, which I don’t believe is the best cut of steak and for $45 you barely get any! But the sauce with it is so good. Everything we tried we enjoyed, but it is hard to say we would come back because of how pricey it was. I also loved that they had a Juneteenth celebration, The Spinster Sisters is obviously community oriented, and I do think they have a great thing going on, but again just too pricey, and there are other places I would rather go for the price. Maybe if there are special/local ingredients they could highlight that more to make it more worth it? Just my suggestion!

We ordered Thanksgiving dinner to go for 2. One of the few places around the are that would cater to just a couple - while we were vacationing in the area. Incredible food - even as take out. Cannot comment on their service for indoor dining but I'm sure it is great. Their stuffing was delicious, and their cranberry sauce and grave just perfect. Best home cooked meal while on vacation ever. Highly recommend.

First time here. My type of place. Small, intimate and cozy. We started with the heirloom apple salad, moved on to the mushroom handheld and the pork tenderloin. Everything was very good. The salad large enough for two. The tenderloin, perfectly cooked and paired with a sauce made from apples. We had no room for dessert. The service was great. Overall a home run.

Beautiful scalloped shells from Washington. **Small Plates** - Smoked Trout ($18) - Generous portion served on beets with endive. Delicious, though needed a pinch of salt. - Spicy Heirloom Tomato Soup ($15) - Excellent kick, fresh sweet tomatoes with focaccia croutons. I suppose the pricing feels on par for Santa Rosa in 2025, but wow. Definitely the most we have ever paid for an anniversary meal. **Overall** A memorable anniversary meal with exceptional food, particularly the black cod. The rushed service detracted from an otherwise excellent experience, but gave us something to talk about!

Been wanting to go here for a long time. I'm not a local, I live in So Cal, but I come to SR for biz a few times a year and this turned out to be a bucket list visit as I can't believe my mouth! I have to keep the review PG, but man the food is great. Very inventive. Love that the menu is ever changing and burger Wednesday tonight was next level inventive! I had a foodgasim while eating this burger! When in Santa Rosa, go big or go home but make haste and make your way to the Spinster Sisters. If you're a foodie but not pretentious, this is your jam. The decor, vibe, service is all very welcoming and again, for the incredible food they make, they are not pretentious! Prepare yourself and come hungry!

A Gem Worth the Drive: The Spinster Sisters Made Our Trip My husband and I were staying out of town at the Astro Motel in Santa Rosa and took advantage of their stay-and-eat option, which included a credit at The Spinster Sisters. We thought, "Sure, let's give it a try." What we didn't expect was to be completely blown away. We opted for a variety of small plates, and every single dish was a standout. I mean every one, even the cherry salad, which surprised me the most. I usually skip fruit in salads, but these tart cherries were magic, bright, balanced, and made the greens sing. And then there were the ribs. Sticky, deeply flavorful, with just the right amount of char. Absolutely unforgettable. My husband and I both agreed: The Spinster Sisters alone is worth the two-hour drive. It's that special. We dined in their garden, which was beautifully maintained and added an extra touch of magic to the evening. The neighborhood around the restaurant is quaint and charming, and the service was warm, knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing. If you're anywhere near Santa Rosa, or even if you're not, this spot should be on your list. It's more than a meal. It's an experience.

Loved this restaurant! The backstory is fun, the vibe is warm, the bathrooms are wallpapered in old sewing patterns, and the food surpassed my expectations. My group shared the burrata, pear salad, steak and the cod. Sharing makes it hard to take pics but they all looked and tasted excellent! The bread pudding dessert also hit the spot. Definitely would go back!

We made a dinner reservation for 6:30pm on a Friday. It's a small place and seemed pretty full when we arrived, so I'd definitely recommend reserving online beforehand. The interior is cozy and cute, nice and warm compared to the chill outdoors. We were greeted upon entry and service continued to be friendly and attentive throughout the meal. My boyfriend ordered the Scottish steelhead and I ordered the butternut squash gnocchi. We also ordered the focaccia to start, which was very tasty! The gnocchi had a pretty mild flavor and I wouldn't have minded a little bit of salt, but overall it was pretty good. I enjoyed the pieces of squash and the hazelnuts. The steelhead was tasty as well, though my boyfriend noted the portion was a bit smaller than expected. Overall this was a nice dining experience and a cute date night spot. The food also came out quite quickly which was a plus.

Reservations are recommended, though it can take some walk-ins. I chose to sit at their counter, which is a large horseshoe at the center of the restaurant. They have expanded to a nice outdoor garden area, as well. I miss the breakfast service, though now that they are dinner only, I'm going to come by more often. Love the Sunday dinners. I started with 2 oysters on the half shell, which were light & delicate. Next I had the kake & mushroom puff pastry. For the entree I chose the 1/2 chicken over farro. All was prepared beautifully.

One of our favorite Santa Rosa restaurants. They are very community oriented and serve what is preached in Sonoma County's Farm to Table ethic. Weds., early eve, we five ate outside in their beautiful setting and we were graciously and efficiently served a fine array of nourishing food/delicious cuisine. The staff is upbeat yet not giddy nor pushy. They truly aim to please. Rarely eating a cheeseburger, I do prefer cheddar to pimento cheese and served on a toasted brioche - no problem! Each person was delighted from appetizers to desserts.

We really enjoyed our visit last night! The food was a 4.5/5 and so was the service. I loved everything we ordered, the food was super flavorful. What a special, chill, romantic lil restaurant. I thought it was a bit dead in there but thats just this time of year. The ambiance was the low & the food was the high. A must try for Santa Rosa dining. Highly recommend and I would return to try something different. The Sunday night supper option is cute.

It has been a while since we have been to Spinster Sisters but very much reminded of why we like this place so much. The food is top notch and very flavorful and uses the current fresh harvests that are available. If you want to go plant based that is very easy to do as well. Service was always excellent and continues to be. I personally love sitting at the bar for dinner as you get to see everything that is going on, but the outside is lovely as is the regular inside seating. If you have not been, go try it out. You won't be disappointed.

The Spinster Sisters always delivers. You have a choice of indoor tables, a large comfortable bar or the outdoor Garden area. Last night we chose the bar and enjoyed a great dinner. We like to sit at the right side of the bar to watch the kitchen prepare and deliver meals. We started with a plate of braised Romano beans with tomato, pancetta and basil. Delicious and a great start. Entrees were halibut with fava and pea hummus, fragola, pea tendrils, mint and spicy oil. The other entree was roast chicken with fingerling potatoes, spring onions, salsa verde and roasted jus. Also ordered the Mac and Cheese as a side. Both entrees and the Mac were a big yum, very well prepared. Service here is always exceptional, friendly and helpful. For beverages my wife had a Pinot Blanc and I went with a dark lager beer. Dinner at The Spinster Sister is always a treat. Highly recommended!

Despite the funky hours, I'm glad I came here and had the opportunity to indulge in some of the freshest food offerings I've ever had in SR! You can tell they put a lot of thought into where they source their ingredients from, what goes into each dish, and even how the food should be plated. This restaurant has been our annual tradition every time we come to Santa Rosa. Overall, flavors have always been solid, albeit a bit pricey. I tend to prefer their smaller dishes, as I think it's a better value. We got their pork tenderloin, which was a bit disappointing. Their chard artichoke and cauliflower steak were good though. They have a nice outdoor area, but doesn't open until the end of April . Service was great.

Best meal we've had in a long time! Service was exceptional, with the perfect amount of attention to detail and attentiveness. Food was paced at a great and enjoyable rate. I only took the one photo because I was fully immersed in the moment enjoying our meal, but when the crème puff was placed the lighting was undeniable. The crème puffed texture reminded me of amaretti cookie, which was moist and sponge dense, filled with a rhubarb compote, topped with an orange blossom chantilly, in a base of, what I'm calling, a marzipan gazpacho. Every element was divine and perfect with an espresso to finish the evening wonderfully. Thanks for an amazing Mother's Day meal, especially when we got a night out without the little one! We'll be back.

It's tucked away in a neighborhood where it is supported by all. Easy access from the freeway. Plenty of street parking. This place is very cute. I'm giving it a five because food was great. I feel the service was a bit lacking though especially for the prices. They probably could have been more attentive, I'm saying this because I had to ask for my water to be refilled. Maybe it's because we were sitting outside, I'm really not sure. Food itself was very tasty. It was burger night, so we had to try that & it was very good considering it was $28 served with fries & a pickle. We ordered a variety of foods to taste & they were all good. My favorite was the substitute Lemon Tart for dessert. It replaced their mousse on the menu & I'm glad we tried it because it was delicious. Parking can be difficult because it's only street parking. I suggest making reservations here it's limited seating inside.

I had dinner at the Spinster Sisters with relatives I haven't seen in 15 years. We all had a great time. The Spinster Sisters is a pleasant restaurant. Service was kind and the food was good. It wasn't Michelin gourmet, but the cooking tasted fine. I did enjoy my baccala fritters. They were great. My tuna entree was good, and was prepared well. My sister and nephew, who live in Petaluma and Sebastopol respectively, love this place. By the way, the dessert sundae was fantastic.

Tldr: hidden gem of farm to table dining experience! This was a recommendation made by our Airbnb host and it did not disappoint! Located on the corner of an residential area, this restaurant is so versatile. They provide cozy indoor dining (intimate setting), bar seating (more casual) and then outdoor garden (intimate/casual). We went with the garden around 6pm, perfect weather + wonderful seating area. The staff was wonderful, gave us great recommendations and were very attentive to our needs! The menu supposedly changes pretty often but we loved all our food choices! Our orders - Roasted carrot salad: I'm a basically salad guy (Cesar, Cobb) but this salad was the bomb! The roasted carrots really made this dish shine! - Ricotta + chard gnudi - Pan roasted chicken thigh with chickpeas: the chickpeas provided a great carb substitute that was both filling and flavorful, chicken thigh was tender and juicy - pistachio baklava cheesecake THIS ITEM IS A MUST! The crunch, creaminess, and sweetness all measured to perfection. Contemplated a second piece but knew it wouldn't have been able to replace the first taste. We will definitely we back if we are ever in Santa Rosa! one of the highlights of our trip!

What a quaint and endearing local restaurant to stumble upon, The Spinster Sisters are doing all the right things! From service to food to creative vision I was so impressed. My date and I only waited a couple minutes during opening to be seated at the bar. By the time our food came out the place was packed -- we see how popular it is! Every shareable dish was delicious! Did I mention the servers were great and even recommended a couple things? After spending quite some time talking, we were never rushed out which is a plus for a popular place. My next visit will be by reservation! What's not to love?!

Private party? No problem! Came for a friend's bougie, birthday dinner (15 people total) and had a pre-fix 6 course menu that was absolutely divine! Total cost came to just under $100/guest (not including wine; which was separate). The Spinster Sisters knocked it out of the park! The event had multiple servers allocated to attend to all our needs - be it refilling our wine, making sure we were hydrated, and ensuring everyone was served their course at the same time! Beyond the incredible attention to service, the pre-fix menu they created for the event was absolutely divine. Not only did they pair it with the wine out birthday boy had selected for the occasion, but they also used fresh, locally sourced ingredients and made sure the presentation for every plate was photo worthy (see pics for reference)! I had not been to the Spinsters Sisters prior but am excited to make a repeat visit after such a phenomenal experience! They even let us stay way past close without rushing us out. Would give them more stars if I could!

I am from Los Angeles and this restaurant should be 3 ($$$) DOLLAR SIGN ON YELP. The reason I state this is because my city (L.A.) is approximately 43% more expensive than the national average for cost of living in the United States. For $15 and $17 bucks, you can get pretty good portion of food in Los Angeles at a 2 ($$) DOLLAR SIGN restaurant. However, you will not get that at The Spinster Sisters in Santa Rosa. As you can see by the photos below, the food we ordered was not enough food to satisfy one adult person's hunger. I took a close-up photo of the $15 cherry salad (so it looks bigger) and the $17 bakes dungeness crab + kale dip, but both meals are pretty small. I would have preferred to pay more to get a complete/full meal as opposed to pay less for a small meal. Additionally, the $8.00 kombucha we ordered was definitely LESS THAN16 oz (it was 12oz I believe). You can usually get a 16 oz kombucha between $3 to $5 dollars. Actually, you can buy the SAME wilder kombucha elder tonic that they serve for $4.99 from Harvest Market. In any case, there were some positives. The ambience and employees were great. I really like the interior design (as well as the cute patio set-up that the business has going on). The bathroom was also clean and fully stocked (the bathroom even had paper towels specifically available to open the bathroom door handle so you didn't have to touch the knob/handle with your hand). I also liked the story behind how the restaurant got its name (it is provided on the paper menu). SUMMARY: When I return to Santa Rosa, I will not be coming back to this restaurant.

Evergreen menu, so I'm told no real specialties. I'm OK with that. We ordered focaccia bread (2 nice sized pieces), brussel sprout chip (tasty), duck liver & toast (yummy) and wings (3 drumsticks; unique coating). The wife and I shared their Fall Salad (big enough to share). I ordered the flatiron steak with au gratin potatoes and the wife ordered the butternut gnocchi w/ hazelnut bits. Meal and appetizers were great. Service was consistent (great). We shared a meringue type chocolate dessert that was chewy on the bottom but hit the chocolate craving we were having. Cute place, dim lighting for my eyes. But still, a really nice experience. I'm happy.

One of the best experiences in a restaurant I've ever had! Being someone who has a lot of dietary restrictions, the staff was over the top accommodating and made the experience even better. We first got there and the energy was so positive and everyone was so friendly. Lee was our host and was so kind and we had Sam as our server who was so sweet and helped us pick entrees that I could eat. The ambiance was so beautiful and the history of the building is so cool. Also love how this restaurant pays tribute to the history of the building which makes the experience even more special. If I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would! Highly recommend!

Had dinner at Spinster's last night. First off I want everyone to know the food was delicious on every level...five star for this but the 'large' dish is not exactly large but more of the size we saw with the appetizers. None-the-less xlnt. Service~~~at best 3 stars. We were a large party so timing is essential. We ordered 3 appetizers, the Brussel sprouts were scrumptious and the mushroom and cheese was a major hit along with a dozen oysters. The woman taking our orders came to our table during the appetizer portion to ask if we were ready to order our entrees to get them into the kitchen and we were so orders were placed. Two nightly specials which came with a salad and again lovely. However, before these two salads were even close to half way finished the main dishes came out. OK....push the salad to the side and enjoy both at the same time. As we were finishing up our wait staff person came and started to clear plates while, albeit, I was the only one still eating maybe an oversight? I politely asked her to stop as she began clearing our side of the table to allow me to finish and not be the only one at the table with a plate and still eating! Checking two boxes of what to never do with guests....timing of entrees and clearing the table before everyone is finished!!!!!! As we finished the ultimate snub if you will, was probably from the owner, at the front of the counter facing the door coming in....as we were exiting through the entrance which took awhile for all 8 of us to leave she never looked up, smiled or thanked us for coming in. Perhaps we didn't order enough ($500) or stayed too long or she didn't care~~who knows~ Check box #3. So, five stars for food, and at best barely 3 stars for service.

My wife and I we're looking to a dog friendly restaurant and the Yelp reviews for Spinsters Sisters were inspiring. The hostess and server were very friendly and hospitable. We enjoyed outdoor seating which was at capacity. We started with the focaccia bread which was warm, tasty, crisp on the exterior with a soft interior. My wife is vegetarian and really liked the Carrot Salad. I had a nice and tender Flat Iron Steak served sliced with a delicious potato pave. The only let down was the Devil Cake which I was expecting to be moist but was dry. We will definitely be back:)

This place has the cutest outdoor seating, it feels so cozy and cute. I was a little anxious with ordering so I only ordered a burger but it was still so delicious. Love that they add some greens and pickled things on the side. Servers were so kind even though there were some mishaps (they were so busy). I'd recommend for a little night out with the gals to have a chat over dinner.

The Spinster Sister was a wonderful surprise. The food is refined, innovative, flavorful, and fresh--everything we sampled, from appetizers to dessert, was absolutely delicious. My wife and I are accustomed to high-end dining and often visit Michelin-starred restaurants, and I can confidently say that The Spinster Sister team has incredible potential and a bright future. The service is warm and welcoming, and the ambiance is serene. It's undoubtedly a place everyone should experience, and it's my favorite restaurant in Santa Rosa so far. I'm already excited for my next visit.

Beautiful ambiance. Even more beautiful food. I've been here many times and I always enjoy myself. We ate outdoors this time, which has a sweet backyard feel. We ordered the mezze plate, peach summer salad, itsuko steak and the budino for dessert. Each plate was fresh and so flavorful. The wait staff is also incredibly kind and helpful here.

Owner and Chef Liza Hinman uses her culinary skills in the Santa Rosa Art District to create an exceptional menu. In addition, she offers an affordable daily family meal which is a complete multi-course dinner for 2 for only $70. We chose the family meal that started with a gem salad that was a perfect blend of organic greens, mint, radish, fennel and walnuts in a balsamic vinagrette. The salad was served with a tasty crostini with pea, fava and Pecorini that is to die for!!! This evening's family menu entree was grilled Tuscan-style Pork Ribs. The ribs were well-seasoned, tender, and delicious. The cherries in chianti put the vanilla panna cotta dessert over the edge to finish off an amazing meal. Overall, The Spinster Sisters is a good choice for a great "home cook" meal that shouldn't be missed. During Covid, they fully opened up a nice outdoor garden patio adjacent to their indoor restaurant space. The only issue I had was that you can see and hear the 101 freeway sitting outdoor in their garden.

The server did an excellent job. She is a real gem; attentive, good attitude, knows the area well The ambiance fits the art's district . We eat outside on a warm evening. Very pleasant, wished we had waited until dark, the lighting looked interesting. Why 3 stars then? We'll; I'm a large man, the portion sizes left me hungry. The Caesar salad was marginal, unremarkable. The mushroom pie over cooked, crust too charred, seemed as if it was a little aged as well (stale maybe?) For being located in Sonoma County - lacking in local wine selection, especially by the glass. Found it interesting that many food ingredients are sourced LOCAL too... inconsistent that wines were... you know from outside the region, international. Really! Stop trying to be cool and be local-consistent with your business model. I'm just saying... The aperitif was sour when should have been sweet to pair well with our meal. Left a lingering taste...

Came here for dinner with my friend and sister. It's a nice and very little restaurant at a corner. They are currently taking reservations only. I've included what was on the menu when we went. They also let you know about one or two menu items that are not on the menu as well. The service was very pleasant and they are very attentive as well. I was surprised they also provide blankets to people because it does get very cold out. Overall the experience was good. The braised lamb was really tender and the polenta was creamy. Very enjoyable and very filling. Even though we ordered a meal for two, I felt like it could've fed three people. The salad was interesting and good. The crostini was not my favorite only because it was a bit too salty. The burger was pretty big. The only take away from this review is that portion sizes are shareable amongst each other unless your super hungry. The dessert came out and it was good. What can you say more about a lemon tart?

I give this Bohemian style restaurent a 5 star. I was there on my birthday, the wearther was beautiful , we sat in the beautiful garden. I was happy to see a Tulsi plant( Holy Basil). The customer service is amazing, unforfortunatly I did not ask the name of the server. She is very nice, had great conversation. Everything was so beautiful and relaxing, beautiful night. If the weather permits, please seat in the garden, it is magical. This restaurent is only open for dinner, It is easy to find a parking spot. The food is very very good, fresh. we had: 1. Heirloom tomato focaccia $7.00 2. Big glory bay, King Salmon sungold cherry tomato,serpent cucumber, toated fregola $39 3.Dancind Demon Pluto salad $16 4.Silver sky ranch pan-roated chicken thighs, Red bird levain , grilled peach panzanella,zucchini, onion top pesto. $29 5.Cheese , with house made seeded crackers $12 6.Nimble and Finn iceream Sundae. Blue Berry compote $13 I will be back again.

The staff acknowledged our anniversary reservation, which was a nice touch. Drinks * Bizarro Aperitif (Aperol-style bitter on the rocks) - $12 * Amista Blanc de Blanc Chardonnay - $16 * Italian Red - $16 * County Line Pinot Noir - $16 Appetizers Local oysters ($4 each) - Perfect small bites, clean ocean taste, served on ice with mignonette. Beautiful scalloped shells from Washington. Small Plates * Smoked Trout ($18) - Generous portion served on beets with endive. Delicious, though needed a pinch of salt. * Spicy Heirloom Tomato Soup ($15) - Excellent kick, fresh sweet tomatoes with focaccia croutons. Perfect portion. Entrees * Chicken and Figs ($35) - Mary's roasted chicken with creamy polenta, figs and Swiss chard. Good chicken, though the polenta was heavy with cream. * Local Black Cod ($40) - Outstanding. One of my top 5 dishes ever. Served with chicories, Jerusalem artichoke, and green olive tapenade. The combination of bitter greens, salty umami tapenade, and perfectly pan-fried sweet cod was unforgettable. Dessert Bittersweet Chocolate Torte - Rich chocolate with vanilla mousseline and wafer biscuit. Excellent, though would have benefited from a finishing salt like Maldon. Service Notes Service was prompt but rushed. Courses arrived immediately after clearing the previous one with no breathing room. The server brought the anniversary dessert with a candle while I was in the restroom. Water wasn't consistently refilled. The server was kind but seemed shy and eager to close up for the evening. Value Total: $191.40 before tip. I suppose the pricing feels on par for Santa Rosa in 2025, but wow. Definitely the most we have ever paid for an anniversary meal. Overall A memorable anniversary meal with exceptional food, particularly the black cod. The rushed service detracted from an otherwise excellent experience, but gave us something to talk about!
