"The Deal: $11 cocktails; $9 house beer and wine On the ground floor of The Standard Hotel in the Meatpacking District, The Standard Grill has a plant-filled outdoor area out front with lots of well spaced-out tables. It's a good place for people watching with a side of fries." - bryan kim, kenny yang
"An iconic restaurant in the Meatpacking District, known for its diverse clientele and signature dish, Million Dollar Chicken, crafted by Chef Dan Silverman." - Kevin Chau
"If you’re looking for somewhere to eat before spending your night at Le Bain, make it easy for yourself and grab dinner at the Grill on the ground floor of The Standard Hotel. They have solid steaks, decadent seafood towers, and a great pork chop smothered in a rich french onion sauce. They do the whole white-jacket server thing, but we actually enjoy this place for its breezy, casual feel, whether you sit near the big windows up front or in a dark leather booth in the back. Nothing you eat here is going to blow you away, but it’s a solid spot for a meal if you’re staying at the hotel or don’t want to deal with reservations elsewhere." - neha talreja, bryan kim, matt tervooren
"People have their Christmas movies. The one they watched every Christmas Eve growing up, and now make their roommates watch the day after Thanksgiving. Whatever your movie is, there’s a good chance it’s playing at The Forest, an evergreen-filled outdoor pop-up at The Standard Highline. At 7pm Sunday through Thursday for the month of December, they’re showing famous Christmas movies in their heater-equipped courtyard. You’ll have to pay for fondue and hot cocktails, but admission and popcorn are free." - matt tervooren
"This restaurant on the ground floor of the Standard is one of your better food options in the Meatpacking District. The menu mostly reads raw bar and chop house, with steaks, seafood towers, and a great pork chop smothered in french onion sauce. They do the white-jacket waiter thing here, but we actually enjoy this place for its breezy, casual feel. The bright front bar area has big windows looking out to the cobblestone streets, and even the much darker main dining room, filled with maroon leather booths, feels more like a private lunch club than a stuffy steakhouse. Nothing you eat here is going to blow you away, but it’s a solid spot for a walk-in meal if you’re staying at the hotel, or don’t want to deal with reservations elsewhere." - Neha Talreja
