Why Chicago Is So Tough For Food Trucks | Eater Chicago

"An indoor food-hall venue used by truck operators to reach customers without dealing with the city’s parking and permitting obstacles, cited as one of the outlets that helped a mobile vendor expand into more permanent operations." - Ximena N. Beltran Quan Kiu

Google
This was an unexpected surprise in the Loop neighborhood. Sterling is an open and spacious food hall concept with lots of choices, and you’re sure to find something for lunch or dinner in this cool and hip establishment. We hit Danke, the sandwich shop and bar, and it was so worth it. The food was amazing, and they had a fun happy hour that offered great discounts on drinks. If you’re looking for a snack or simple counter service with some elevated flare, explore this place.

Google
Smoothie place was awesome. Lovely customer service and the granola bowl I got was chock full of fresh fruit and tasted great. Convenient location in the loop and great vibes for quick dining.

Google
Clean, sufficient seating, and decent variety, though the music is a bit loud No where else to post specifically regarding the café so guess I’ll do it here * Maple Syrup Cappucino is great * Matcha was unfortunately watered down

A good number of options are available at the food court like Indian, Mexican and more. Masala dosa was great in taste served at the Art of Dosa.

Google
I absolutely love the Sterling Food Hall! It’s such a fantastic addition to the Loop. We tried Lito's empanadas, and they were amazing—especially the chicken and mushroom with morita sauce. I’m also glad to see other vendors staying open.

April Razon

Google
Sterling Food Hall (formerly Revival) is cozy, with amazing food options like Lito's empanadas. Yum, so good—love it!

Molly Clark

Google
Great food and service, but loud music and poor acoustics make it a pretty unwelcoming environment. Every sound carries and it can be difficult to hear others even when it's not particularly crowded. I wouldn't recommend to anyone who is hard of hearing or has auditory processing issues.

Isaac Taylor

Google
Good food options, I went with the Art of Dosa since I'm a *customer* who likes to wash his hands before eating. And just to save security the trouble for anyone reading: Men's Bathroom code of 4135 as of 6/25/2025. You're welcome.

April R.

Yelp
I love Lito's Empanadas in this food hall and so happy to know that they are staying here and not really closing the place. I heard Revival is continuing under a different name, such a relief! I love everything in this place.

Yelp
When I go into a shopping mall, I assume that the supermajority of the stores within are going to be some kind of clothing, shoes, or accessories. I can't fault any mall for this, for such is their nature. With food halls, I've been conditioned to expect variety. My usual food-hall haunts in Boston had all sorts of cuisine: soups, sushi, seafood, salads, sandwiches, and lots of other things not starting with 'S'. However, with Sterling Food Hall, of their 13 eateries (two of which are beverages), five are based in sandwiches and wraps (I did not include Los Milagros or Lito's Empanadas). While I am a sucker for a hot chicken sandwich, and Hot Chi does their schtick extremely well, I am aching for more non-sandwich options. (Yes, I put the data into Excel, yes, I created a pie chart, yes, I uploaded it) Other than this lack of variety, Sterling Food Hall is excellent! It is very clean, has more than ample seating, and has a welcoming modern/trendy vibe. There are also clean restrooms available. Finally, I appreciate that Sterling Strives to go beyond being just a food hall, but also a so-called "Third Place" in the evening, with a happy hour, trivia, music, and other cultural events/happenings. Thus, while I wish for the days (based on photos) Sterling/Revival wasn't dominated by sandwiches, it is still a favorite of mine for a lunch while in-office, especially Hot Chi!

Yelp
So glad this place is within walking distance of the Rookery Building and the Money Museum. Cuisine for all tastes - Mexican, pizza, fried chicken sandwiches, dosa, poke bowls, and vegan (plant based? something that I avoided lol). From FARE I had a huge bowl of turkey basil meatballs, farro, lemony kale, and red cabbage slaw. I wanted a relatively light meal and I made a great choice. Everything was fresh and the high quality justified the price of $14.25. My friend had a hot chicken sandwich. Satisfying, though heavy. We sat at a long table to the right of the entrance and noticed a small bookstore inside, Chicago's only indie bookstore. Extra points for the cool, nostalgic 80's music, tunes that are sadly overlooked on mainstream 80's radio stations. The only odd thing is most vendors don't sell plastic bottles of water. Glass ones with metal caps bottles dominate here. Finally found a screw cap bottle at the Mexican joint. Would definitely return and some places are open for dinner. There's also a bar and special events.

Yelp
We stopped here on a whim because we were cutting it close to a show down the street at the Chicago Theatre. Smaller than some other food halls that I've visited in the past, Revival was the great fit for my husband and I on a rainy Friday night. It was pretty quiet inside around 7pm (they close at 8pm), so we were able to order food at The Fat Shallot (truffle BLT was excellent) and Los Milagros. It was pretty quiet inside, and I guess I was pleasantly surprised there wasn't a big crowd. I expect this place gets busier around lunch time. The only downfall was that the Revival Bar wasn't as easy to navigate. There is no place to order a drink (coffee side is closed) if all of the bar stools are taken. My husband wanted to order a beer and had to awkwardly find a way up to the bartender. Perhaps signage could be clearer about the process for ordering?

Yelp
Avoid around lunch hour rush. This large food hall has lots of choices of sandwiches, soups and ethnic foods, anything you may want. There is a make-your-own salad counter at the back. You must walk around to find the specialty items and desserts. There is soooo much to choose from. You go to the counter to order and receive your tray, and eat anywhere at the clean tables. This food hall is modern and bright. So nice that a developer used this dining concept so patrons with special diets can try different items. This venue is perfect for families, a quick stop or carry out, or to get a drink or coffee and relax. So glad we found it near several sightseeing spots. Easily accessible.

Yelp
Great place, plenty of space Friday afternoon. Hot tip to order a head. All the food options you can want. And bathrooms. Will be back to try other places.

Yelp
Thanks (actually, no thanks) to Yelp for the incorrect closing hour of 8pm, we got to Revival only to be in for a rude awakening. What kind of food hall is this!?!? Closed on weekends and on weekdays, every single stand shuts down by 7pm. 7pm is still prime time dinner hour!! We arrived around 6:55pm only to be turned away as food stands were already closing/cleaning up. We were visitors from out of town so not sure if this is in a shady, questionable area which is why they close so early. Ugh, annoying and disappointing.

Yelp
Quality/Quantity - If you are following, I have been frequenting public markets again and really enjoying it. I especially like the upscale ones with breweries. We tried the following: Litos Empanadas - We got the beef & rice empanada; crispy, fresh, good but on the small size especially for the price of $5+ tax. Dos Taqueria, we got the beef brisket barbacoa taco; generous portions, but you have to eat this with a fork. It was just way too messy due to the saucy tortilla. Art of Dosa - Ramen Dosa wrap. This was a hit. Crispy freshly fried wrapper, good flavors inside. But was there supposed to be ramen noodles in this? We did not have any noodles. Atmosphere - Located in the downtown area, so most customers are local business people. Plenty of seating, community seating, tables, counters, etc. Something for everyone. Individual businesses have promotions, specials, happy hours, etc. See pictures or websites. Open 5 days a week from 7am to 7pm, closed weekends. Again, a downtown location. Website hours differ slightly. 24,000 sq feet, good size. Catering available. Events. Service - Good. Price - Depends on what you eat or drink. But overall, reasonable prices, expected prices for downtown business locations. Owner Suggestion - Congrats on your success since 2016.

Yelp
I stopped by to check out what different foods I could try before leaving for home and ended up trying out Art of Dosa and Bagel Miller. What I got: Art of Dosa Chole dosa wrap (4/5) -- Not too familiar with Indian food, so I didn't know what to expect. The filling was chickpea curry inside this super thin, crispy crepe-like shell. They served it with chutneys and a soup?? I'm not too sure what it was but it went well with the dosa when I dipped it in. If you like complex sour and savory flavors, I would definitely recommend this place. Bagel Miller The BELT (4/5) -- Everything in between the bagel tasted great, but the bagel itself was the weakest aspect of the dish. It lacked chew, that proper bagel crust, and was super thin compared to most bagels I'm used to. This food hall has many diverse food options to choose from, including Mexican, Italian, American, Indian, Hawaiian, etc. I would say prices really depend on the vendor, but I noticed drinks in general were pricey.

Yelp
I stopped in for an impromptu visit. I was impressed. The space is large, with clearly defined areas. Coffee, cocktails and food were represented nicely. The decor gives off a stylish vibe without trying to impress. Huge storefront windows offer a view the Loop city scene. There's a huge table with cool lighting. I loved the listening/reading room tucked away next to the bar. The restaurants were stationed down the main hallway. The bartender/barista was helpful without offering very much personality. She didn't greet me when I arrived but was helpful during our interaction. My coffee tasted great. I'm looking forward to returning to grab a bite to eat or to sip on a cocktail as I people watch.

Yelp
I've been coming here since it opened in August 2016. Revival features a frequently-changing cast of outposts of acclaimed restaurants inside a modern space. Prices are high and I usually have to order two different things to be eat enough for lunch, but this is a real asset to the Loop.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here to meet up with family and although there is so many options, not all of them were open. My cousins had art of dosa that was really good. My husband had fat shallot which was okay for a Reuben sandwich. I had the empanada which good, I was a really big fan of the spicy green salsa made with Serranos. I came here wanting to try the uppercut sandwich spot but got sad when I saw them closed. There is a lot of seating which is nice to just sit and try different places.
google avatar

Mary L.

Yelp
There was a good variety of food options here. It's a good choice for a quick lunch during the work day. It was very busy around 11:30. It was very much an in and out place that I could finish lunch in an hour.
google avatar

Ella L.

Yelp
Great selection of cuisine in a fast casual setting. Good for grabbing a quick lunch or dinner solo but especially for a group. Only wish there was more seating.
google avatar

Carol T.

Yelp
This location has about a dozen different restaurants. It gets busy at lunch and can get challenging with seating. It's nice for a variety but hard to get food and eat with friends or coworkers as it gets busy and lines can get long.
google avatar

Miriam W.

Yelp
Easily one of the best, if not the best food halls in Chicago, with choices to satisfy most palates and food quality that ranges from very good to excellent. Aloha Poke and Art of Dosa are two of my recent favorites, both which offer options that are on the healthier side. My husband is currently working his way through every sandwich at Danke, and I think I'll join him soon. There is ample seating here, although it gets crowded and noisy on really busy days. We avoid the lunch rush by arriving early or late; this is downtown Chicago, and on weekdays the place is packed with people working nearby, so I avoid dead noon if at all possible. I will return again and again.

Yelp
Revival is a crowded chaotic and expensive food court with very modern industrial interior design. There are throngs of zombie slow-walkers dazed by the dozen or so lunch dining options. It seems like the majority of the zombies are business travelers lunching with their Chicago-local associates. You will be hard pressed finding a place to sit and eat despite tables blanketing the hall. The lines are long at lunch hour, and they do not move fast. Lots of people zombie-standing in line after being sucked in by the gravitational pull of so many other people waiting in line. Often you will wind up trying a new cuisine because the less popular restaurants have shorter lines. Art of Dosa? Tips are requested across the board despite the exclusive format of no-waitstaff counter service and already high prices. The only way to game the system is to order in advance via their outstanding website, picking up your food in the back corner, and eating elsewhere. A secondary game plan is to try to sit at a place that has counter seating, as some of those slots seem to be dedicated to that particular kitchen. Some of the places serve alcohol, but virtually none of the business lunching zombies drink in the middle of the day, in the middle of the business district there.

Yelp
So many delicious options to choose from, there's a lot of seats everywhere in the food hall and the place is clean and just a nice spot to try different kinds of cuisines, highly recommend it if you're in the area.

Yelp
Was looking for an espresso before the symphony. Yelp told me I could find one here. The coffee/bar was only serving non coffee drinks though in the late afternoon/early evening. The bar was pretty hopping with the after work crowd. I decided to eat instead of having a coffee since there was none to be had. I went to a place called the Shuk and ordered an eggplant dish. I thought it was amazing, particularly the pita which rivaled the pita at any of the well known Mediterranean restaurants I've eaten at all over the world! The eggplant dish used a bit too much oil but not entirely unexpected and didn't ruin it for me. Also, the 2 people working were exceptionally kind. There are maybe 8-10 other restaurants that all look good. Not withstanding the variety, I went back to the shuk next time I was wanting dinner there. I ordered the other eggplant dish, also a lot of oil but still delish. My daughter had the mushroom & onion hummus which was so super yummy. Again the 2 people working were delightful. Lots of food options, few dessert options, plentiful seating.

Yelp
Check in here to get a variety of cool local eats at breakfast and lunch. It's a pretty cool place kind of like a market. Revival Food Hall is a gathering of many vendors. Good food and locally made items are available. This is only open mornings and early afternoons on weekdays. Among the vendors in here are Aloha Poke, Art Of Dosa, Bianca's Burgers, City Press Juice & Bottle, Danke, Electric Greens, Familiar Bakery, Lashuk Street Food, and Smoque BBQ. It has both meaty and vegetarian choices. This is a place to check out newer culinary adventures and entrepreneurs. In the middle is the seating area. There's also seats along the walls. A favorite is Art Of Dosa. They have vegetarian friendly Indian cuisine like dosas, of course, and samosas. Meat eaters will like Smoque BBQ. They have big ass briskets and more. About the only bad thing is the hours. It's only open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. They're closed weekends and some vendors close even earlier than that.
google avatar

Lizzie L.

Yelp
The oatmeal bar was just really bad and unflavorful. I've tried a few things here before now and the food just wasn't that good and I don't want to waste $25 there on lunch that I could make better at home ever again lol
google avatar

Sol C.

Yelp
Picking a new spot is never easy but Revival Food Hall definitely has something for everyone. With multiple vendors, a large dining area, and reasonable pricing everything was exact for a simple city day lunch. The food was good (recommend a poke bowl from Aloha Poke Co) and service was swift at every stall!
google avatar

Osiris R.

Yelp
Many options and seating available. I had Mediterranean and loved it! Tried the hummus bowl which came with pita bread and hot sauce
google avatar

Steve H.

Yelp
Overpriced, overcrowded, but great selection of vendors. Don't count on finding seating right away for 3+ ppl during lunch rush. Which is kind of the point of a food hall - something for everyone in the group. Except seating.
google avatar

Jason W.

Yelp
This is a really nice food hall with several different cuisine options. A very diverse lineup! I chose a dish from Minahana Indonesian for lunch followed by a latte at Revival Cafe Bar. Both were really good. The atmosphere at Revival is really cool too and great location. I was with a group and the barbecue joint was a big hit! Most of them at there.

Geraldine S.

Yelp
This food hall was incredible! Very clean, a number of different options for food. Service was great and quick in all the stalls we visited. The bathrooms were super clean too.

Yelp
My wife and I were playing tourist on a nice Friday afternoon. We were a little hungry, and we're vegan, so our options are limited. We're glad that we were able to find Revival Food Hall. We went to Art of Dosa and ordered the Buffalo Dosa Wrap. Holy Fusion! Almost like a cross between a dosa and a taquito, it was stuffed with "Buffalo" (I think they should call it "Bluffalo") soy protein. Very unique, creative, and tasty. Danke to Danke for allowing outside food. It was their happy hour, and we got to sip some tasty local brews. Cool and friendly service is always a plus. Next time we'll have to check out Electric Greens: Oh, hell, yeah. I'm gonna be round my vegetables. Aloha Poke: Looks like the tofu bowl would be vegan LaShuk: We'll have to ask about the hummus and falafel Cafe-Bar: 'Nuff said Can Minahasa make things vegan?

Ruby P.

Yelp
This is a very elegant food hall in downtown (near the Monroe subway station) and I really love it! It's overall a lot better than a nearby food hall that I've been to (Urbanspace). It has a restroom that doesn't require a passcode which is convenient for guests who would like to go before getting food. The downside of this food hall is that they seem to open only on weekdays and not during weekends. Also it was very crowded around noon. Almost all the tables were occupied. Lines were long for some places. Here were the places that I visited within the Revival Food Hall: 1. Revival Cafe I got their seasonal coffee (Maple Cardamom Latte). It has a strong cardamom scent, I neither liked it or hated it. It was fun to try new flavors. I love the huge conference table next to the cafe. I enjoyed eating and reading there. They have wifi! 2. Art of Dosa I originally wanted to try one of their breakfast options but they stopped serving those around noon. I got a Plain Dosa plate instead and it was ok. I'm new to dosa. It's like fried crispy rolled crepe. It's very large, but I still needed to get something else to be full. The side lentil soup and sauces/seasoning were ok. 3. FARE I did build-your-own-bowl with smoked chicken and 3 veggies and a grains base, topped with tahini sauce. It's very flavorful, healthy and delicious. Their side veggies were well-seasoned. I liked this place and would try other options next time!

Sheyenne H.

Yelp
Dining offerings include Aloha Poke, La Shuk (Middle Eastern), Bianca's burgers, Smoque Bbq, Gemma Foods (pasta), Art of Dosa, Lito's Empanadas and more
google avatar

Erik M.

Yelp
I stopped in a few different times and tried 3 of the vendors. The food and coffee were excellent and the service was great. It nice to be able to pop in and grab something quick for either breakfast or dinner.
google avatar

Tiffany B.

Yelp
Would come here anytime. What a great variety here! Loved the Mexican place towards the front where I ate. The tacos were gigantic--so much protein packed in the tacos, I was stuffed all day. Loved that they have a salsa bar so you can be in charge of your salsa journey. The chips and guac were generous. I will definitely be back, whether for lunch or a quick nibble, or needing a caffeine fix.

Yelp
Revival Food Hall has been a favorite of mine since it opened. Great restaurant options and if there's a drawback it is relative to how busy it is. To avoid that, I go early if at all possible and even easier is ordering ahead for pickup. The food hall itself is really warm and welcoming. Lots of spots to eat and sit - and seems pretty inviting. Wish it was a bit closer or I would go more often, but when I'm nearby I stop in for something delicious for lunch. Great food options - different spots for all tastes - easy to go options with compostable takeout containers. I've never run into a person working there who wasn't friendly even when they're super busy. This is a pretty good skill considering all of the different restaurants. Definitely a wonderful spot for lunch - just go early if you're in a hurry.
google avatar

Yelp
Totally depends on your eating tastes and the time of day. If you are working in the Loop or down there for business take a try. But traveling and paying for parking I vote no. Because of the extended hours as posted, I opted for a pre show dinner and was disappointed. Arrived around 5:45 on a Friday (June 3) and only 4 vendors were open. None of which I found appealing Decor nice but food options is the optimal goal. I advise to not post uniform hours if "everyone" is not open.
google avatar

Lindsay J.

Yelp
The food is top notch. I loved the rotisserie chicken we could easily eat this as a family of 5, so if you are looking for something affordable in Chicago! This is it! We also loved the fried rice and orange chicken! I thought everything was sooo yummy the only thing i didn't love was the burger... i am from Texas and it just reminds me of in and out. So just ok. Ambience is excellent beautiful hand washing stations, drink areas and ample lux seating. Service was self serving but easy because they text you when your order is ready. You can order from multiple kiosks at once.
google avatar

Tina K.

Yelp
Revival is my go-to lunch spot when I visit Chicago for work. It's walking distance from my office building, and I love the variety of vendors inside the food hall. I've tried Minahasa, Boonie, Lashuk, Familiar Bakery, and Revival Cafe-Bar. I keep going back to Minahasa and Boonie because I love ethnic Asian food. I grew up in Indonesia and live in So-Cal near the Asian food mecca that is the San Gabriel Valley, so I'm pretty picky when it comes to Asian food. I did not expect to have easy access to good Southeast Asian food in Chicago, but Minahasa and Boonie deliver. Despite my love for Revival Food Hall, I took off one star because it can get really packed during the lunch rush and the vendors close really early. I wish I could get dinner here, too.
google avatar

Kendall C.

Yelp
The inside was cute. They had a couple different places to grab food at and lots of seating. There was one area that was doing a trivia night which was fun!

Chris L.

Yelp
Great variety of food. Only gave 4 stars because it'll Be hard to walk out of there without paying $20 for lunch.
google avatar

Liz H.

Yelp
I can't review the restaurant-Dos Taqueria directly so I will review the food hall. If you order online and spend $20.00 there is a $5.00 off coupon. That was the highlight of my visit. Now, the food. I ordered the two-enchilada plate. You choose the protein so I got brisket barbacoa with red sauce. It was fine but the meat was in chucks instead of completely shredded. To make the $20.00 minimum, I ordered chips and salsa. The chips were thick, hard and tasteless. The medium "salsa" tasted more like a mole. I hate mole. I put the hotter sauce on my enchiladas to give it a kick. Also, they only have regular or Diet Pepsi - not Pepsi products just Pepsi. Portions were ample except for the rice. Now, for what really pissed me off. On the website, there is not an ASAP pickup choice-it's every fifteen minutes. I ordered at 12:08 pm so I had to wait until 12:30 pm. Not 12:15, 12:30. Plus, the website doesn't tell you that pickup orders are at the far end of the building. I asked two employees about my order. I wasn't told until the second ask that the order would be at a different place. The person at the pickup station explained the ticket said 12:30 and it's a busy time. I would have been fourth in line if I had not used the "skip the line" coupon. First time, last time.

Yelp
One of the top food halls I've been to anywhere! I normally have a really hard time choosing what to get at food halls because everything is not only overpriced but not super interesting. However this food hall has so many interesting and diverse vendors I'm willing to splurge for! My top favorite of the day (I tried 4 vendors) was Boonie Foods! Their Filipino crispy pork was super tasty though a little pricy. Was a relief I got to go during this trip to Chicago since I went during the holiday season it was closed the day I wanted to go around Christmas Eve time/after Christmas BUT it was then open a few days after new year! Make sure to get their early since some vendors close sooner than others (didn't get to go to Art of Dosa :( ) My IG post! https://www.instagram.com/p/CY4klDmvo0j/?utm_medium=copy_link

Rob C.

Yelp
Won't be coming back. Waited 40 minutes for my food and it was shoulder-to-shoulder the whole time. Guess that's expected for downtown during the lunch rush though.
google avatar

Kyle H.

Yelp
Beautifully decorated food hall concept, there's something for everyone here, and it's executed flawlessly. Coffee, beer/drinks, food, Revival Food Hall has it all! Grab your food and find a private table, or sit at one of the long communal tables. Great for you and your co-workers at lunch, although it tends to be crowded then, of course. My girl and I hit this place up before the Rolling Stones Friday concert, and had no issues, all businesses open on a Friday night! I grabbed a beer from one of the bars that had lots of people unwinding after work, then we hit up Furious Spoon for some ramen. Always loved them in Logan Square, and it did not disappoint. This place is very clean, has public bathrooms (yay), and is a great example of the collective food hall concept.
google avatar

Joseph Carlo V.

Yelp
I will keep this short. This is my favorite food hall in Chicago. Many different types of selections that are all organized in an efficient and clean matter. The love the lights and modern touch but has a homey and food hall vibe. There is nothing corny about this place. Just a cozy professional spot for some good food. The amazing coffee spot is very crucial and oddly not a common feature for food halls. Keep it up! 10/10 IG: carlo_hiit_the_town

Yelp
If you are downtown near the loop and looking for a fun place to grab food with friends, check out this spot. The interior is surprisingly larger than the exterior would suggest. So many different delicious food options here. It's bustling, but my friends and I were able to get a table at lunchtime and line waits weren't very long. Pro tip: if you are pressed for time, order in advance through the ritual app.

Mandy W.

Yelp
Great choices, loved the poke place and empanadas. Prices are reasonable for the amount and quality you get.
google avatar

Melanie B.

Yelp
Taking some of the best restaurants in Chicago and putting them all under one roof in one food hall is genius. The ease of being able to eat at all of these restaurants without trekking all over Chicago, makes this my favorite place to grab lunch. No matter the mood, I'm completely covered here. And in the very off chance that I show up without running into friends/colleagues on their lunch as well, I appreciate the option of bar seating. There are no wrong choices here. Only answers to your daily cravings.
google avatar

Lenny G.

Yelp
This place is an overpriced food market with mediocre food. None of the options looked that good and the empanadas that we'd did end up going with, we're very mediocre. The only redeeming place was the coffee, which was actually very good. I would skip this place.
google avatar

shan t.

Yelp
I went to Revival Food Hall three times for lunch in a week due to work. The food variety is diverse and the prices are very attractive. I tried Electric Greens, Lashuk Street Food and Smoque BBQ and they are all pretty good especially Electric Greens. The website of the Hall is excellent. From the lineup of the vendors, you can view the menus and pictures of the food. Do you can decide what to want before you go. It seems all vendors accept ApplePay. So convenient!!

Megan W.

Yelp
Great options and atmosphere. Be sure to read times of operation as one of the days we went, they closed a little early. The Revival Coffee bar was excellent

Yelp
I work in this area so I can confidently say I really like this special addition to Chicago. I generally avoid the lunch rush from 12-1 but have been here before and after and can usually find a seat. I also LOVE coming here for happy hour after work as almost all the places have special deals and there's a lot more space and lines are short. The prices are on the higher-end but on par for the area AND you get a lot of food so sometimes you can save some for dinner. I am indecisive so food courts like this are overwhelming for me, so if it helps you, here's what I've tried: -Pub Royale: (I thought they're only here for the pop-up spot so probably not much longer). Love the food here but it is pricey for what it is. They have a good deal on their burger for $8 for happy hour. -Furious Spoon: I actually don't normally like furious spoon from their other spots in the city but I loved it here! I think I got a spicy miso ramen. It's a good value. -Smoque BBQ: You get too-big-to-finish portions here so it's a good value and the food is tasty but for me it was just a bit too much of only one item which got boring. -Budlong: This was super tasty. I split a half dark with my friend which ended up being a good deal ($8ish each) and perfectly filling. I do NOT recommend getting the mac and cheese side, it was really not good. We got the classic flavor which still had a perfect spice level to it us... the HOT would probably be pretty spicy. -Fat Shallot: I did not eat here but my friend got one of the specials and it was SO good and so much food. There are also water spots and utensils/napkins all around at different stations.
