The Strand Bar & Grill

This was my first time coming here, and it was amazing! The food was delicious, and the owner was very friendly. We ordered the wings and the chicken sandwich from their happy hour menu. The wings were cooked perfectly, and the chicken sandwich with curly fries were well-seasoned and crispy. We will be coming here more often.

Monday and Tuesday nights are the best for me. They offer a limited menu, all items less than $10. I usually get the hamburger, but my friend got the chicken sandwich and loved it. I am getting that next Monday. The owner, Jim, is awesome. It is fun when hid son it daughter are the wait staff. They are sweet polite kids working for tips. I don't know if you ever heard of Teresa Russell, but on occasion she plays guitar and sings there. She is the best guitarist I have ever heard. You can't go wrong.

6/26/24 first time here, found this place on Google Maps. Came here with friends, we had dinner. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Service was really good and friendly. I had the linguini and clams, it was good. Others has eggplant parmesan - (they liked it) and another had fish n chips - (another good dish). The salads that came with the meals were a good portion. This place has a cool, fun and nice vibe. The bar area looked chill... I would certainly return if i get the chance.

Made a stop in for the 1st time on my dinner break and was greeted by smiling happy people. The rib tips were amazing! I can't wait to bring my husband!

It was awesome. Everything was wonderful! I worked at quincy Street 30 years ago and have see it change hands over the years. John and Linda Champias, we were close to and I have to say, the new additions to the menu are good. A wonderful addition and I love that some things have stayed the same. I seroiusly recommend this place.

Went for brunch on Sunday and it was not good. There were shells in the omelet and the eggs Benedict was overcooked with a terrible hollandaise sauce. The bloody mary and mimosa was great.

We visited the Strand Bar & Grill last Sunday evening for dinner. It may not look like much from the outside. But when we walked in, the restaurant is open, spacious and inviting. The server was very kind and responsive. For an appetizer, we had the rib tips. It was a very large portion of absolutely delicious, tender rib meat. I will definitely get this again. It is a meal in itself. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs for the main course. I am picky when it comes to meatballs. It seems many places put too much of something in the meatballs. Not here! The meatballs were probably the best meatballs I have ever had. Finally, if you really want an amazing experience, leave room for the bread pudding. There is plenty to share and it truly is a delight. It is something you have to try. The Strand Bar & Grill is a fantastic place to go and relax and enjoy an amazing dinner.

The house salad was fresh and wonderful! The Lasagna was very good and the Old Fashions made a good pairing!

The crispiest Diet Coke I have ever had. Food, service, ambiance was fantastic. The drink put it over the top. Highly recommend. For food, the Cesar and fish and chip combo was top tier. The clam chowder was fab too.

Ordered the ribs as they were highly recommended by my friend who loves this place. Meh.... I much prefer the ribs at BJs.

What a cool little spot in the Strand! (Silverstrand Beach) Small place with a bar area and the dining area has plenty of seating. Nothing fancy... staff is very friendly! We enjoyed a couple beers, and I had a dirty martini which was good! My husband and I weren't too hungry so we only ordered a couple of things from the starters menu. The server was really helpful with recommendations so we went with the Rib Tips which were really good, definitely large enough for two people to share or make a meal out of. Priced at just under $20! Good deal! Also our server recommended the Philly Cheesesteak eggrolls. Sounds different? They were pretty good, served with a cheese sauce for dipping. We were a bit taken back by the way they served them? The presentation definitely lacked effort-and they tasted better than they looked! The cut pieces were a little mangled and thrown on a plate with the dipping sauce... needs some garnish, maybe try to serve on some fluffy green leaf lettuce? Also the portion was absolutely not appropriate for how much they charged! Almost $20! Definitely not worth it! We want to come back and try some of the entrees... their menu is huge with a wide variety of dishes to choose from! I recommend giving them a try!

Atmosphere was friendly, welcoming and fun. Food was great! Can't wait to bring my husband so he can enjoy the new place I found.

Under new management within the last year so, this quaint little local gem is now called " The Strand Bar & Grill". It's a tiny little spot next to Kidde Beach, off the channel by Port Hueneme. I had a great experience with the host, Raegan. She was polite and helpful and took my phone in order quickly with an upbeat attitude (thank you). We ordered a Philly cheesesteak and a Tri-tip sandwich. The menus on Yelp were over 6 years old so we were really just hoping they had these sandwiches! But they did and we got the order in. The parking lot is barely more than an apron of pavement next to the building. Just enough for a few cars to park at steep angles. But there is a ton of street parking nearby. Besides, this is a walk in kind of joint for the neighborhood. Love the vibe inside. Small town, comfort and kindness. Wood floors. Folks hold the door for you. Ahhhh, just right. I saw a bunch of fresh menus on the counter at the host stand and thought I'd take the opportunity to get familiar with it. Along the way someone else would probably want to see the latest offerings so here they are attached. I wish I had taken photos of the food! It was dynomite!! But alas, we was hungry haha. It didn't last long enough for the camera. Take my word for it; it was money! We are coming back again very soon

I can't say enough the salmon is to die for. the specials are amazing. The staff is incredible Tonight especially thank you so much for your eyes and quickness. You know who you are. Shout out to Quinn. A true gentleman

Great food, huge portions and friendly service! Our new local pick for a casual steak dinner

really a 4.5 if I could. Wednesday at 6:30pm the bar was hopping and several tables had patrons dining. We were cheerfully greeted and seated. The two waitresses were kept quite busy but managed to deliver courteous and efficient service. The food: the tri tip was not the best cut of meat--not very tender, cooked to order with a nice bordelaise sauce w/mushrooms (not over salted like many) and gorgonzola on top. Spinach salad very good as were the mixed veggies (not over cooked--woo hoo!) and the baked potato was perfect. The star of the show was the baby back ribs. We were just in texas and dined at several world famous bbq joints and I have to say the ribs at The Strand were better--probably the best I have ever had (including my own I'm sad to say). A generous portion, meaty, not fatty, fall off the bone tender and somehow soooo juicy. I'm not sure how they plated them without the meat falling off of the bone! The sauce was solid. We will be back--for more ribs and to try something else on their quite extensive menu.

Delicious bbq meat plate at a reasonable price. Not a lot of seating but there are a few tables outside.

Old hole in the wall attracted me as a local steak and seafood place. Drinks are super strong. Waitress was amazing but,,,,, immediately seated. Lovely menu. Overpriced for what I ordered. Ribeye and and shrimp special. It took them over an hour to deliver my food to my table. The steak was thin and full of fat.

Casual, local and the food is awesome! Nice secret in our silver strand neighborhood.

We love our local restaurant! Since the transition in December of 2022, the new owners have upgraded the bar that has a clean feel & great vibe. The main dining is currently being updated too! So far, the trio fajitas & orange roughy specials are amazing, with many of the local favorites are still being served! We wish the SBG's new owners much success!!

Food is very very tasty. Service was sweet although the cook seems a little bit slow or maybe needs some additional help? All that to say the quality of food indicated that most of the food is prepared in house and made to order, which seems very cool. I had the child's Mac and cheese and I'm not sure that I've had better Mac and cheese so there's that. Husband had the trip too sando and none of the tri tip was cut in an edible way, so much so that he had to separate the bread from the meat and cut and eat them methodically. Also, too much BBQ sauce, also BBQ was spicy, and no mention of it on the menu. We both drank an old fashioned, and they were fine, definitely a heavy pour (not a bad thing) but neighborhood pour for the price is fantastic...most people who come here live here it seems. The decor and ambience is strange and the over all experience was fine. So. 3 stars.

The Strand Bar & Grill is slowly renovating a local hang out. Their bar has been updated, sports are on, and the drinks are good! We came for breakfast today and it was delicious. From the French toast and bacon to the Eggs Benedict and omelette everything tasted amazing! The staff was friendly. The prices were fair. It wasn't too noisy or crowded. They have new owners and I'm sure they're going to get more popular - but right now it's the perfect place to go if you don't want a long wait. They have an excellent chef and a great location.

Food is insanely delicious the burger is killer!!! Coleslaw is unique and tangy with the dill. I live far but will be coming back for this spot. I find that restaurants have average service these days, Chrissy was our waitress she exceeded my expectations, kind and attentive. 12/10 easily if you are in the area GOOOOO!!!!! Also place is kinda cute homie vibes wooden interiors.

This place is great. The food is excellent. The service is nice and the location can't be beat. I suggest that you make reservations at least a day or more in advance because this place is busy. Call the phone number and leave a message and they'll get back to you.

The food was good, I ordered the tri tip sandwich but the meat was tough to bite into, maybe it wasn't sliced against the grain or the pieces were too big and thick. This meant that the whole sandwich had to be taken apart and the meat cut up. Way too much bbq sauce, and I wasn't told it would be spicy. Didn't say it anywhere and I have stomach issues that makes it very unpleasant to eat spicy food. I would have gotten something else or sauce on the side if I knew. Maybe it was the grilled onions that were spicy? Didn't get a chance to tell the server about it because she didn't come around. The drinks were kinda pricey but good. I did have a good time but I think they can do a bit better for the prices.

This place is awesome! Had dinner there with some friends on a Friday night, and they had a live music performer that was amazing. We had appetizers, steak, salads, pasta dishes, desserts, and everything was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection, especially those Philly egg rolls Drinks are stiff and worth every penny. Owners Jim and Nancy are lovely and made us all feel so welcome, we will definitely be back soon!!

Had a great dinner celebrating my 60th birthday last night at The Strand Bar and Grill. Jim and Nancy were fantastic hosts. Food was delicious and the cocktails good too. Thank you for making my day! Cathy

The chicken piccata is always excellent. The drinks are great as well. I wish they were open seven days a week. I try to go here every time I'm in Oxnard.

One positive thing about it is, it's close to home. But if you don't go for just the neighborhood and you go looking for some good food, I would look around in the neighborhood and go find something better. This reads a bit blunt, but we gave it a try, and I think I have other places that I would recommend .....

This little local restaurant was formerly known as Quincy Street. We had a fabulous meal. Started with baby back ribs with two sides. Since they also have potato skins I ask if they could add stuff for the baked potato as a side. They went all the way, with butter sour cream bacon bits chives and cheese. No extra charge for all of that. Then we had the Jack Daniel bread pudding which is the best one we've had since New Orleans.

The food was TERRIBLE!! I ordered ribs and grilled shrimp, the menu described the shrimp as grilled on a skewer definitely NOT grilled or skewered. Very dissappointing when the meal isn't as described, the ribs were overcooked mushy and flavorless. The staff was great! The manager even ran out to our car to return my husband's card holder that had a $100 bill showing.

A favorite of ours since the late '80's.. .. ..until now. Through 3 owners, this one seems to be a bit chintzy. No more 1/4 onion brick - only a big one: too big for 2 people; no more pickle with sandwich; no more cole slaw on the menu; (this is a place specializing in bbq, which, by the way, still has the best bbq sauce); French fries are not as good as they used to be; bbq chicken sandwich also not as good as it used to be; didn't have my Dewars, that they always had. Service staff, as always, was pleasant and very accommodating. Will return one more time in a few weeks to see if this last experience is just a one off.

Ppl were nice. Food was TERRIBLE. The lasagna was terrible. The bbq chicken sandwich was just frozen chicken and Kraft bbq sauce. Burgers looked a little TOO well done. Fish and chips were not the best. Overall wait time for food was like an hour. You'll definitely lose your buzz after your first drink, waiting for the next. Super pricey for the time, service and overall display. The place definitely needs some renovations. The atmosphere is a good touch for theme but little nicks and knacks like dirty carpet, missing light bulbs, outlet and wire out. Wouldn't recommend. I'd give this place no stars if I had to. This place definitely needs a bar rescue! They have pasta at a bar lol be real haha

In my limited experience here (getting drinks, we did not eat any food), the experience was adequate, and the service was too. The drinks felt expensive ($90 for three beers, two mixed drinks, and two shots), and we only had one round before we left and went on our way elsewhere. They were so expensive, that we decided to grab some liquor from the convenience store next store, and go drink elsewhere instead. Bathroom was one person at at time, and there was quite a few tables and chairs in that place to necessitate more than just a single use bathroom. Atmosphere was okay, nothing to write home about. Would come again if I really needed a drink in a pinch, otherwise, I would probably pass.

Food is good, but not excellent; beverages are well made and very good. Staff is wonderful and friendly. Wait times for food to arrive is beyond disappointing, and that is after trying two times before reviewing. Not sure I'd try a third time. My fav is salmon and it made me sick (undercooked). Steak is ok but grizzly. Ambiance is nice, because of the staff; noisy, but not unduly so. Love the location and hope beyond hope they improve.

The new owners of "Strand Bar & Grill," (previously Quincy Street) have really done some amazing things to add to the whole dinning and drinking experience. The bar is a great place to mingle with friends and enjoy some really great mixers. The food menu is not lackluster either, with daily specials and the usual great tasting food items and entrees, you won't be disappointed. The 4 Star rating will be 5 as soon as all the renovations are done and the menu is finalized. Jim and Nancy (owners) are great people and are always open to suggestions. If you haven't tried it, you should, see ya there, CHEERS!

Love the goat cheese pasta at this place! Portions are a good size and good; always tastes fresh! I have only ordered to go but the order is ready when I show up and the staff is always so nice.

we had dinner there right after they changed ownership from Quincy Street to the Strand Bar and Grill. We've been going there for years and were disappointed with the new establishment. There seemed to be a huge disconnect between the wait staff and the kitchen and the drinks were not to the standard we were used to. We tried it again tonight and I have to say that the wait and server staff was right on mark. The food was the same we were used to (they have retained the same cook) and overall the service, food and atmosphere was excellent. They have changed the menu slightly but all in all it was very close to what I had hoped for.

"The Strand Bar & Grill" The food and service was amazing. The prime rib was probably one of the best I have ever had. We also had the seared Ahi appetizer and fish and chips. All the food was excellent an top notch service. I highly recommend this place.
