The 21 Best Happy Hours In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"The Stumble Inn is like college without all the books. Standard attire at the intentionally corny UES bar consists of a backward hat and a jersey (Jets or Rangers will do just fine). In addition to the happy hour deals, there are $3 cans of beer and other drink specials every day after 7pm." - bryan kim, neha talreja

Woman Sues Upper East Side Bar ‘the Stumble Inn’ in NYC - Eater NY

"The Stumble Inn is a popular Upper East Side sports bar known for serving some of the cheapest beer in the neighborhood. The owners operate some of the city’s biggest get-drunk-till-you-pass-out spots including the East Village’s 13th Step and Upper West Side’s Gin Mill." - Tanay Warerkar

The Stumble Inn Review - Upper East Side - New York - The Infatuation

"The Stumble Inn is from the same people as Hair Of The Dog and six other bars that all feel like they’re here to help undergrads transition into the real world without too much of a shock. Like the others, this location on the Upper East Side has great drink specials, including half-off beer on weekends, and plenty of TVs. Just know that about half the people here will be more interested in doing the music video dance moves to the songs on the speakers than watching the game." - Matt Tervooren

Google
That all American is a must try if you're into a bacon cheeseburger. Didn't have the onion rings, but I tried one, and they were delish; had a nice crunch to them. Vibe and Staff are chill. Sports friendly bar with plenty of room for a party which I believe they book there.

Google
This place is a gem. Good music, good food and amazing staff. Max is quite possibly top 5 bartenders I've ever experienced in my lifetime. It was great to meet you today Max! -Matthew & Gloria

Google
Some of the best bar food on the UES. Love everyone that works here, it always makes my day to come in and see Dave and Maddy. It’s always a great time.

Google
Really great bar for watching football. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The crowd was so accommodating, talkative and lively... but to be completely honest, the food is 1/5 stars.

Google
Opened at 7 PM. We got there at 7:14 and it was PACKED and they music was bumpin'. We sat at the last table available and a waitress came to get our order immediately. My gf and I split a chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries w a side salad. Portions were generous for the city and we left full! Seemed like a big party bar and we loved the energy! Wish we could've stayed longer!

Google
Always a good time! They have an attached private events room with it’s own entrance - highly recommend!

We didn't order any food, but the drinks were on point and the service was great! The music was awesome. I had a great time

Yelp
Solid drink choices and happy hour specials and the food is better than many other pubs. Service is fine. Decent choice if you're in the area.

Yelp
What a great, fun place to hang out with your buddies. I could see that if I was in my 20's again, just hanging out with friends for some cheap drinks and watching sports, this would be a place on my regular rotation. Drinks were reasonably priced; they had all kinds of specials that change often so it's not always the same thing. Had some beers (Stella) and Green Tea shots that were pretty well made. For a weeknight, it was hopping. I can see that getting a place to sit on the weekends must be tough but wait around and something will open up. Staff was all friendly from the guys at the door to the barkeeper who helped us. Grabbed a seat, waitress was great with recommendations and specials. The ONLY downside I have to say (and maybe it's my age...sigh) is that the bar was LOUD. I'm sorry, did you hear me? It was LOUD! But very fun. You do have to be loud yourself to be heard, all the people, all the TV's going at once. But the vibe itself was very good. No one was causing problems; everyone was there for a good time. I hope if you find yourself in the area, and it's the type of place that you would normally enjoy, that you give The Stumble Inn a try. Well worth it.

Yelp
The Stumble Inn is a wonderful UES establishment If you are looking for chicken wings, onion rings, chicken tenders, fries, beer, and any other classic bar food, the spot has you covered. The vibes at The Stumble Inn are also immaculate if you are looking for a lively place to hang with some friends. At night, there is a DJ who plays a variety of songs, mostly mainstream ones (which I actually do like because then I at least know the music for once), and there are folks dancing and just having a good time. Service is good and the food is yummy. The mood lighting is a vibe.

Yelp
What to Expect: 1. Typical bar fare - baskets of fries, onion rings, and nachos 2. Lively atmosphere for watching sports 3. Pretty good drinks 4. Super sweet server A good choice for casual sports fans looking for a fun place to watch the game.

Yelp
I hate to say it but this burger is no longer in my top. Not sure if my taste has just changed or if the burger has slipped but it definitely didn't hit the same way this did 7 years ago. The place still feels the same with a dive bar meets frat/ sports bar vibe. Definitely still a great spot to get drinks to watch a game. 3/5
google avatar

Jennifer D.

Yelp
The service is good here and the songs are a WIDE variety. The crowd is something less to be desired but that's expected for a bar of this caliber.
google avatar

Josh F.

Yelp
If you're looking for a spot for football, you've found it. Salute to Meg for taking great care of us, Mahoney for the epic metal playlist during commercials and Danielle for the good vibes. Also a great place for Rangers games and salute to Jenna and Maddy (even though she's sadly an Eagles fan) for holding it down for our group.

Yelp
I came here for a work event without reservations and was able to push together tables in the corner. It worked out perfectly, staff was very chill and accommodating! Very chill atmosphere but does get loud as the nice progresses, especially with the live band. Food was decent for a bar. Drink choices were good, I especially enjoyed that they had a watermelon cider and not too pricey. I can see myself coming back!
google avatar

Christina S.

Yelp
Great place for some fried food and cheap drinks. They have a large outdoor patio which is perfect for chilling outside with friends. Be sure to check their schedule to see if they have any live music events coming up. Overall pretty laid back during the day and gets a bit rowdier at night. Usually a younger crowd.
google avatar

Bobby G.

Yelp
Amazing bartender Max and whole staff was kind. Rangers ended up winning and overtime and every goal felt like you were at the game in UES

Anthea N.

Yelp
DJ had a very interesting mix and even more special... "transitions". The people who work at the bar are very nice and I love the bubble machine!

Yelp
Came here on a Friday to meet up with a couple of people visiting during the holiday. It's a great spot to grab a beer and watch the game! I had been to their sister bars (I.e Down the Hatch, Off the Wagon, etc) but glad to see there is an option in the UES! Mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers are good options if you need something to nosh on!
google avatar

Tatiana J.

Yelp
Stumbled in on a Thursday when the Yankees were playing. Basic food and drink options. Quick service during the day creeping into the night the service got slower and the crowd got noiser. The bathroom is downstairs and tiny. A lot of outdoor seating. Good for a quick drink.
google avatar

Yelp
This bar feels newish clean and suburban. The music is good and there's a community bar vibe that ranges in spirit from a frat house, a sports bar, a dive bar and a kind of cruisey nightclub. I was happy with the nachos and the 3$ Budweisers. The crowd was young on my visit, and the service fast and friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Stumble is an old faithful bar for me, been coming here for over 10 years, great for a fun Saturday night out or just for an after work beer and some food back when I worked just down the block. Its gone thru some changes over the years but the spirit is still the same. Great vibes, friendly staff and good tunes. Can always count on some fun when im here. The food is standard sports bar food but is of a high quality. The wings and burgers do not disappoint, so dig in. Have many memories here and will undoubtedly have many more in the future.

Yelp
I've well aged out of this place but in my heydays (early 2010s), it was a bustling, packed hot spot. Always high-energy, always full of life. Back then the only issue I had with them was that they were the kind of place that served you based on what they thought of you... not because it was their job. That being said, it was always a lively and rocking place to hang out on a Friday or Saturday night. Always has been and always will be an oasis for the younger crowd.

B. B.

Yelp
By day, your favorite hometown bar with good bar food. By night, a club atmosphere with great dj's on friday and saturday nights. The servers make the place, everyone is friendly and attentive. 10/10.

Yelp
I was really craving greasy food after a bad experience at a healthy restaurant and I 'stumbled in' to The Stumble Inn. I've been to this place before and remembered how insane their onion rings are! The server I got was also super sweet and attentive! Their onion rings are huge and for me, they are the best I've ever had and it's so reasonable! The onion is cut thick, the batter is also thick and has a bit of a kick from the pepper. The dip was also delicious and perfect with the rings. The drinks are also very affordable. I ordered a High Noon and it was around $7. I highly recommend stumbling in to The Stumble Inn and will definitely come back again!

Yelp
We came in a group of like 20 people. The waiters weren't taking our orders when we were waiting outside a while, they didn't inform us that we had to order inside. They got a lot of our orders wrong. A lot of us got ignored. A waiter decided to prank me when I asked for a refill by telling me "NO". Ha ha? Whatever. I gave a low tip. They're lucky I didn't give zero. Edit: Matthew M. who clearly works here just made a review countering mine within the same hour. It's a fake review and he's not a customer. To Matthew, your customer service sucks and you had some weird bias against us. If you don't like us customers telling you the truth, then work in a cubicle and not a restaurant.

Yelp
Only came here cause rained out of Central Park concert. It's a bro dive bar. Had fun for the most part but drinks are ridiculously expensive or bartenders overcharge which they did to me on my CC. It was $9 for a basic ass draft beer in a small plastic cup. And then $63 for 5 Coronas and 2 well drinks in an even smaller plastic cup. See my photos. I gave $10 on it, fair for doing nothing (I've bartended for years). Shocked to see bartender gave themselves more! When the amount is clearly written. That's just messed up. Did they do that to all my friends? I have to warn them now. To check their receipts and statements. But their shady bartenders know most people don't keep their receipts nor mark what tip they put. I do. Done caught! Never going back to these shady ass bartenders.

Yelp
realized the G&T was so reasonably priced because half of it belonged to the floor-- wicked crowded but the back area with the glowing purple tables is a decent vibe.

Brittany M.

Yelp
Wanted to post a review based on our experience renting out the East Wing for my boyfriends birthday celebration. The event assistant was particularly great (I wish I got his name; he seemed a middle aged Latino gentleman--big shout out to him!!), he was so inviting and helpful throughout the event. The only gripe we had was with the bartender, who didn't seem eager to be there in the first place. To rent the room, the party had to meet a "minimum spend" on food and drinks. Her communication as to how much we were spending made us feel the need to buy more--and so we racked up an excessive bill unnecessarily. I want to clarify that this didn't seem malicious, but it did feel careless. Thankfully manager Ryan was very polite and reasonable when we brought up our concerns and made every effort to ensure the issue was resolved fairly. BIG shout out to Ryan!! He really handled this situation gracefully, and we didn't end off with a sour taste in our mouths for Stumble Inn.

Yelp
Consider this a "Nightlife" review. I've been here twice now and I have to say, I kinda like it! Take this review with a grain of salt because I didn't eat any food. First things first, they actually checked vaccinations at the door, which is fantastic! Covid is thing. Safety is paramount. I appreciate the ownership taking things seriously. My friends and I first Stumbled in to the Inn after visiting a beer garden for a birthday party. Most of my crew left just before midnight (they were too lifted/drunk to continue the night) but I stayed because the dance floor was packed. I hadn't seen that in a long time so I wasn't going to leave that early. The DJ played a little of everything from Dembow, do Dancehall, Afrobeats to Rock and it was awesome. I danced my heart away until about 3am. I often wondered whatever happened to the days when we skipped the pretense at the door and just got it in on the dance floor. The art of the dance is not lost and Stumble Inn has a piece of it. I had a few drinks while I was there. The ingredients for some of my requests weren't available and I had to wait a little bit because of how busy the bar was. My bartender apparently took notice of my patience and rewarded me by comping one of my drinks! What a way to end the night! So look, I don't know about the food situation (Can you really go wrong with fried bar food though?). I do know that you can grab a drink and dance hard. For me, that's enough to recommend a visit, late night.

Yelp
They make you order food with your first drink. I'm not telling you to not order the tots, but if you do, be forewarned that you get a metric crapload of them. Like... an unreasonable amount. But they're good. Again, I'm not telling you not to order them. Anyway, everyone who's been in NYC long enough knows about the Stumble Inn. It's your classic college/fratty dive bar that's somehow way more uptown than its West Village brothers and sisters. So what's it like during pandemic? Surprisingly not terrible. Not great either, but not terrible. Lots of outdoor seating. A predictably bad beer list. And clientele that makes you feel way too old for this shit.
google avatar

Valeria M.

Yelp
We were charged the full price on the drafts on Sunday even though it is advertised on their website, that on Sundays there's half off all drafts. Just because we have a foreign accent, doesn't mean that you can do that to people, and treat them differently. Also, the bathrooms were disgusting, my boyfriend walked in to the men's bathroom and found the guy exposing himself while being on the face chat with whoever that was. Gross.
google avatar

Jessy L.

Yelp
This seems to be the go-to after work spot for MSK employees which brought me here last week. When my coworker and I first arrived at the establishment we were asked to present our ID's to ensure that we were of age. Once inside we immediately noticed how crowded the venue was. Once we hung our coats up on the coat rack at the far back of the room, we ordered some drinks (Tequila Sunrise & Amaretto Sour) at the bar via beginning a tab. I got hungry after a couple of rounds, I ordered mozzarella sticks with mariana sauce and sweet potato tots. Although the food is great here, it's not really my type of scene so I doubt I'll be back. P.S: The DJ was incredible on this particular night
google avatar

Austin S.

Yelp
Stumble Inn is the perfect college bar for slightly overpriced drinks and no capacity limit. Came here on a Saturday night for drinks with friends and quickly realized my mistake. Lots of people pushing/shoving to get through and spilled drinks. Music was good. I'm probably too old for Stumble Inn but they serve a target audience well. Didn't get any food.
google avatar

Ron F.

Yelp
This place is great for watching sports. We came here for the college football playoffs in New Year's Eve and had a great time. Lots of TVs, great drinks and some seating.
google avatar

Vinay S.

Yelp
Bigger place that accommodates large parties and use to have beer pong tables. Turns into an absolutely flooded college bar on the weekend. $20 pitchers. 3.75/5 stars as a day bar.
google avatar

Sam R.

Yelp
Great sports bar on the Upper east side. Great crowd and great music. Their stuffed burger is incredible. Awesome place and reasonable price. The cheesy tater tots were fresh, crispy and the wings were on point. Buffalo sauce had a nice kick to it.
google avatar

Mary Angeline D.

Yelp
Burger was very juicy. Also had the mozzarella sticks which were so crunchy! Happy hour is amazing!
google avatar

Andrew C.

Yelp
Not much to say but I might have been the oldest in age, not looks in this place. Sat by the bar so service was fast and friendly. Nothing much to say about the inside decor, looks like a typical sports bar mixed with rough house fun. Once I realized that it was too young and loud for me I moved on to the next pub down the block where I can find a slightly older crowd.
google avatar

Arlythea T.

Yelp
I've been here a bunch of times as i've lived on the ues for years. I simply and politely told the bartender I did not think my drink was strong enough and she was unnecessarily rude about it. I was told to bad if i want a stronger drink to buy a shot. I always respect staff and I always tip as i'm a customer facing employee myself. As soon as my male friends showed up and were purchasing my drinks for me they all of a sudden were made properly. experience just made me uncomfortable as i was not even given the chance to speak as a paying customer.
google avatar

Sama C.

Yelp
When you "Stumble Inn" here you feel like you walked into Dorrian's Red Hand (UES). Very weird how both places look exactly the same. Maybe it is the same owner? Either way, it's a chill spot for drinks and to hang out. They open up the restaurant for a dance floor which they play some cool music, 80's, 90's, rock. Things you can dance to. Then you have a bar in the back with a much more cooler tone.

Allison H.

Yelp
Just bad bar food. Nachos were a giant pile of stale chips with shredded cheese melted on top. Tasted like styrofoam.
google avatar

Korrey B.

Yelp
The food and atmosphere never fails, I'm not a drinker so for me to go to a bar for the food is saying something! The drugged burgers are phenomenal!!! The music is good and it's expedient The burgers are stuffed with cheese and bacon and everyone knows bacon makes everything better!
google avatar

Elianny S.

Yelp
It's a typical neighborhood bar with drinking games, loud music and some very drunk people. This place reminds me of my undergrad days when you party at frat houses. They even play a lot of old school music from the early 2000's which was a fun throwback. The bouncers here are actually very nice as was our server. She was super attentive and kept checking in on us. We ordered beer and the nachos, the nachos were loaded with cheese, chicken and were the perfect amount of greasy you want after a night of drinking. The kitchen here is open pretty late so if you're in the area and looking for some bar food and alcohol this is a good spot. Its also a great place to people watch, there's so many drunk people acting up that you will be very entertained. Unless you're the drunk mess in that case thanks for the entertainment!
google avatar

Sheela V.

Yelp
So ... I used to come here every Monday to watch the bachelorette. The days when we could gather indoors and cramped together! I'm really writing this review because I miss Monday nights. Highly recommend coming here if you are a bachelor fan - the staff is super fun and goes trivia, games, and more doing commercial breaks! Great vibes. It is noisy so you may not be able to hear everything FYI. Get there 10 min early if you want a seat. Overall great drinks. Food here is so/so and typical bar food - but hits the spot if you are craving bar food!
google avatar

Xenia M.

Yelp
I was literally stumbling in the Stumble Inn this Friday! What beats cheap drinks and music on a Friday night! Compared to most bars on the UES, Stumble Inn wins! It's great for an after work happy hour, or just to meet up with friends over a drink.
google avatar

Pablo V.

Yelp
Quick recap: looking for a cool spot with drink specials? Reasonably priced bar food? Maybe a spot to mingle? This is it. Do not come here thinking you'll get anything on the fancy end, besides beer pong. I've come here a few times and it's usually got a decent crowd so it's never awkward empty. Great beer selection and great prices. Definitely a younger crowd. Wings and fries are a solid bet here. On the weekends and even on Thursdays it will get crowded.
google avatar

Megs S.

Yelp
Fun name! I walked past it thinking it was a college hostel but was surprised to see TVs in the window with sports on and a casual yet rowdy bar crowd. I'm a fan of dive bars, especially ones surrounded by "nicer" establishments. Shocked by the drink specials and cheap alcohol. Noticed many people ordering food (nachos are popular) but didn't feel like grease today
google avatar

Hungry M.

Yelp
This local chain built on specials-oriented, college-type bars is a great concept. I recently stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to catch up with an old friend and knock back a few. $22 for a double Red Bull and vodka. That's $22! What? I could go to a high-end rooftop for drinks at that price point. Thanks but if I am paying $20+ for a drink, I expect a clean bathroom.

Matthew W.

Yelp
What an amazing energy we felt watching the World Cup here recently. Place was packed, so much fun. Been a few times, perfect spot to take in any sporting event!
google avatar

May C.

Yelp
Stumble actually has some pretty delicious bar food. I shared wings with a friend and ordered a side of tots as well. When it gets busy, the service isn't that great. The waiters are nowhere to be found and they aren't the most attentive when you place your order. Despite the service, the buffalo wings were delicious and surprisingly filling and the tots were a basket full of grease that I couldn't stop eating. Yes, I know, I'm disgusting. Anyway, Stumble has a way of always being crowded, even at 8pm at night. It's always fun after 10pm. They start blasting the music and everyone starts dancing. By midnight, all the frat bros come out and it's time to leave. Most of them are way too drunk already. Also if you plan on staying after midnight, do not sit at the bar. I'm serious. People will claw their way to try and get a drink and odds are, you will get drinks spilled on you. TL: DR Food and music is good, but when the college scene comes in, I'm out. Service is super lackluster.
google avatar

Rob P.

Yelp
3.5 Stars is just about exactly how I rate the Stumble Inn. I gave them 3, typically if I'm on the fence but have a good experience I'll push up on the rating, unfortunately they had one major flaw. If I order a pitcher of Bud Light & it tastes like skunked college bar beer a/k/a dirty lines then I'm down on a place. They did recover somewhat with ice cold bottles. The wings were very good & my sister in law's smiley faces tots were enjoyably crunchy. Go but if you go ask for bottles, lol!
google avatar

Myles C.

Yelp
Reasonably priced drinks, a good selection, and great deals every day except Fri and Sat naturally. Came all the way up to UES to say goodbye to a friend and we dipped into here to grab some drinks. $17 for pitchers of beer for the beer pong table in the back. Great way to meet people and have fun at the same time. All in all, just a fun place to be without dropping mad dinero.
google avatar

Javier W.

Yelp
This service here was terrible john Mahoney helped a lot though but we believe the place needs better management and attend to it's coustumers
google avatar

Seth W.

Yelp
Forever will be one of my favorite no frills watering holes. Affordable, delicious bar food in a city-slicked sports bar. Buffalo chicken nachos, burgers, wings...just great bar food all around.
google avatar

Tara W.

Yelp
This place has the most amazing happy hour lol. We went there with 10-15 people. It was crazy noisy and crowded and the service was slow but it's Friday night and happy hour so ‍, I ordered food and drinks and it took me half an hour to order food and once I ordered the food I was next to the kitchen playing beer pong with my friends so I just wanted the bar tender to know that I'm there if the food comes but there was this Hispanic guy who was really rude and I explained to him that I'm right there if my food comes and he kept saying tell the bar tender who was on the other end and was so busy. This guy was in the bar so I told him if he could let the bar tender know cuz I couldn't go in and I stood there for 15mins and he didn't help and then there was a lady who came to the bar and I explained it to her and she did the same no help. And the worst part I went out to smoke behind and they had some chairs out in the open and there was nobody cuz it was chilly and I sat there smoking alone and another guy comes out twice opens the door goes in back and again comes for third time and tells me no smoking outside. And I need to go away. I mean I had one cranberry vodka and lots of food and they treated me like I was causing trouble. I felt like I was not in a bar but some detention camp. I am gonna give a second try and see how is my next experience. The above four star is for the happy hour and the guy bartender who was nice.
