"A popular Upper East Side sports bar, the Stumble Inn is known for serving some of the cheapest beer in the neighborhood; I report that in October 2018 a Bronx woman, Diana Ortiz, slipped and fell down about ten steps there while descending a reportedly poorly lit stairway to use the bathroom, injuring her knee and back. I further report that she later underwent surgery for a herniated disc she alleges resulted from the tumble, that her lawyer says she has permanently damaged her spine, and that she is suing the bar in Bronx Supreme Court claiming the stairway was left in a “dangerous, defective, hazardous, unsafe, uneven, broken, worn, poorly maintained, dilapidated, inadequately illuminated and/or excessively slippery condition.” I also note the owners operate other notorious venues including the East Village’s 13th Step and the Upper West Side’s Gin Mill." - Tanay Warerkar
