"There are hearty lunch spots, and hearty lunch spots that’ll make you say, “f-ck me up now.” Ask for the latter and we’ll point you to The Sunday. The small, fusiony Korean American spot in Emeryville—in the former Patatas Kitchen space—makes hefty comfort dishes, like loco moco smothered in gravy, bulgogi bowls topped with two fried eggs, and lemon ricotta pancakes that wouldn’t be out of place at a county fair. We have no complaints, especially when their plump Korean-style wings with a perfectly sticky glaze hit the table and require you to re-up your napkins. Additionally, the prices are reasonable, dinner is an option (on some days), and we’re big fans of any spot with a hot sauce wall." - Lani Conway

"Emeryville’s new restaurant the Sunday is perhaps making more of a name for itself as a place that merges brunch classics with Korean food, but it also has two standout fried chicken sandwiches to try. The classic fried chicken sandwich featured a craggy, crunchy chicken slab nestled inside a brioche bun with coleslaw and tomato; meanwhile, the chipotle fried chicken sandwich offers a more fiery option, with a chipotle adobo sauce." - Dianne de Guzman, Becky Duffett, Luke Tsai

We waited quite a bit to get seated because we had a party of 6, but it was definitely worth the wait. The food was delicious and unique compared to your usual American style brunch restaurant. The portions are very good and you leave feeling satisfied. FYI, seating is a bit limited, so larger parties are a little difficult to accommodate (like mine).

Google
Everything we got was delicious. Kimchi tots, bulgogi Benedict, stuffed French toast. All super yummy. Will definitely be back. The fried chicken looked awesome but we could only eat so much!

Google
We got the garlic parmesean wings and tots. They were both out of this world. A nice crunch. Such good flavoring on both the batter and the chicken itself. The breakfast sandwiches were also delicious, but my gripe is that it said spicy and well black pepper had more spice than that thing. Please don't be afraid to make it spicy. People have the option of ordering without the spauce if they can't handle it with their weak taste buds. That's a skill issue on their end.

Google
Nice experience overall. Would come back for brunch because of the inventiveness of the food and quality of service. Very small space so would probably recommend weekdays, but our party of 3 had no wait last Saturday. Street parking outside. Food is solid but I noticed everything was quite saucy. Might not be everyone’s cup of tea. Personally I like bulgogi a bit more well done or crisped but the tater tots were perfect and balanced out the texture.

Google
Awesome service. Food was tasty, and Yuzu tea was soo good!! Ezra, our server, was lovely and very warm and perceptive to our needs. Edit- we went back and had the Jae yuk omelette and the croffle. Both were delicious, as was the iced coffee and yuza tea. Ezra was our server again and he was just as lovely as last time. He even gave me a package of the cold brew coffee I liked on the house, so I could make it at home.

Google
Our server was a RIOT! So much personality. And good service to boot. Every bite was delicious. The lemon ricotta pancakes were light and the kimchi bulgogi tots were amazing. We also got the spicy fried chicken Benedict and I will definitely be back for more! It's a small space, so expect a wait. But worth every moment.

Google
I was very impressed by my meal at The Sunday. So much so it makes me reconsider the ratings for some other restaurants I have recently dined at lol. The atmosphere of the restaurant is perfect for a morning meal- cozy, small dining area aesthetically decorated with colorful lights and an incredible hot sauce wall, and soft jazzy music. The service was great too, friendly, attentive. I had the kimchi bulgogi tots. These were incredibly flavorful with a nice I am guessing kewpie aoli topping the dish... heavy and generous in its serving size but a genuine flavor bomb. Also tried the soy garlic wings which are very authentic to the texture and flavor of wings I have had in Korea- very authentic in preparation and taste I feel. The only thing that would elevate it further would be to offer the whole bird quartered and prepped, as I have seen wings often done in Korea. Additionally had the loco movie which was comparatively more plain in its flavor but that perfectly paired with the other two dishes. I l loved the meal and look forward to trying more interesting food here.

Google
Great cozy brunch place with your beloved friends ! We ordered bulgogi Benedict and French toast. The bulgogi beef was marinated with house special sauce, the bread instead of the normal English muffin, it’s actually crispy, so it was actually quite surprisingly good with this combination ! French toast is pretty good as well. Both the eggs are slightly over easy , so be careful once you poke it, it will spread around. Highly recommended and for sure to come back

Yelp
Food wasn't bad. I really like the menu options and want to come back to try them. The French toast was good but the bulgogi was ok the meat was a little cold and the tater tots were a bit overcooked. The server was nice and attentive and the vibes were good.

Yelp
Bookmark the spot forever. Finally made to the east bay. Super busy for weekend brunch. Meter parking. 2-3 tables inside with few outside tables. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food came out fast. Overall, this was a standout brunch with flavors I don't usually get to enjoy in a typical brunch spot. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for something a little different!

Yelp
Tried The Sunday Restaurant this Sunday, and thought it was impressively good! So much so that my BF (a notoriously pedantic diner), wants to go back! The location is a cute, cozy, unassuming spot, one street over from one of Emeryville's busiest intersections (3986 Adeline St, Emeryville), so parking can be a challenge. I had the beef bulgogi eggs benedict, and my BF had the country friend chicken benedict. Both were amazing! The poached eggs were perfect and the chipotle hollandaise sauce is ::chef's kiss:: We both opted for the tater tots (over home fries) and the tots were golden, crispy and not greasy. There's a wall of over a hundred hot sauces you can choose a bottle from, and I was delighted to see Crystal's was on there. (because I'm a weenie when it comes to spicy) We also split the croffle because it was hard to resist a "waffle on a croissant dough topped with vanilla ice cream and shredded brown cheese.". I knew I'd be going to IKEA after this, so why not indulge in a little big backery if I know I'm going to walk it off in the human rat maze anyway... But I digress. To drink, we also tried a Korean muscat grape soda (non-alcoholic) which the BF really liked, but I did not because it has sucralose as its sweetener and I have a synthetic sugar sensitively (omg, that is the most Californian thing I've ever typed) but if diet sodas are your thing, then you'll probably like this. The employees and chef are super nice, and you can really tell how much they care about their establishment through the warm / friendly interactions with the guests! It's an extremely popular spot for weekend brunch, and seating is limited, so there may be a little bit of a wait if you go during peak times. We arrived right after the rush (at around 1:15 PM), we were seated within 10 min. There's limited outdoor seating on the sidewalk that has better availability than indoors, but be prepared / bundled if you choose this option. There are plastic windscreens to help mitigate the cold, but there are no heaters outside, so dress accordingly. Overall 10/10 spot. Definitely would go back to dry the K-inspired omelets, Lemon ricotta pancakes, and / or the Loco Moco. Looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
The Sunday has such a welcoming vibe! Street parking was surprisingly easy--I snagged a spot right in front. Inside, the aesthetic is on point: modern, cozy, and the food is a perfect blend of Korean flavors meeting brunch classics. I visited on a weekday around 11 AM (pro tip: come mid-morning for no wait!), and it was a great brunch. I went for the Bulgogi Benedict, and let me just say, chef's kiss. The egg yolk was soft and runny, pairing perfectly with the savory bulgogi--though the sauce leaned a little sweet for my taste. My friend ordered the Croffle with Fruit, which added just the right amount of sweetness to round out our meal. The vibe? Chill but lively. Even as the place filled up, it wasn't too loud. They also have a cute little outdoor seating area for those who want to soak in the sunshine. Bonus points for the staff--they didn't rush us at all, letting us catch up and linger over coffee. Heads up: they do get busy, so if you're coming during peak hours, hop on their online waitlist ahead of time. Trust me, I'll be back for round two!

Yelp
The Sunday is a great place for brunch ANY DAY! On the recommendation of friends, we met up at The Sunday for an early Saturday brunch. The indoor seating is quite cozy, but there were additional seats open outside. Because it has been cold recently, we were thankful we were able to score seats inside without much of a wait around 11:00 AM. For the menu, the food had an Asian American fusion vibe. With the four of us, we were able to get a good sampling of the menu: Loco Moco (4.5/5) I liked how this one had a nice kick to the gravy, all while savory and luscious with tender pieces of hamburger meat. It was one the highlights! The Sunday Omelette 2 (4.5/5) Another dish that surprised with the heat from the buldak sauce! It provided enough of a kick that wasn't too aggressive even for my friend who doesn't tolerate spicy much. The omelette also had a good amount of fixings inside to make it decently filling. Korean Style Chicken Wings (3.5/5) Solid korean style chicken wing. Good mix of flavors and executed well. French Toast (3.5/5) Another solid french toast offering that had a good helping of fruit! But not as special as some of the other dishes. Service was attentive and helpful even as the restaurant was starting to get busier. There is street parking available if you drive around but may have to pay meter on certain days so be careful! Overall, The Sunday offers great Asian inspired brunch offerings worthy of checking out!

Yelp
Great service. Waitlist is Online. Menu Online. 2- party res. ordered 1- Chicken Benedict 1- Spicy Chicken Benedict (Spicy on the after taste) 2 cup coffee; reg and a decaf Chicken Benedict with white Country gravy. Poach egg made to perfection. English muffin tough to cut through. Would rather have a steak knife to cut through it. Ended up picking it up with my fingers and eating it like a pizza! Didn't finish it but ate all the rest. Tasted my friends Spicy chicken benedict and at first bite, it was so bad then the kicker happened and it was too much for me! Coffee hit the spot! Not too acidic. Cozy, friendly, family style ambiance. I would return again f

Yelp
I stopped by here on a Friday morning and found street parking easily. The Sunday is small, it has maybe 8 small tables, patio seating, and a bathroom. There's one host/server and he was killing it. Super nice and pretty much handled everything on his own. I ordered spicy garlic parm tater tots, bulgogi omelette, and bacon cheeseburger omelette. Loved the tater tots! I was warned about the spiciness but I didn't know what to expect. Lol I wouldn't say it's over spicy but there's definitely a kick to it! I'd probably come back for these tots specifically. The bulgogi in the omelette tasted a little too sweet for me. And as someone who doesn't like her food drenched or drizzled in sauce, and if I had known I would have asked for the sauce on the side so my omelette wouldn't taste too soggy. It was still delicious. A bacon cheeseburger omelette sounded odd so I knew I'd have to give this one a try and I ended up really liking it! Literally tasted like a bacon cheeseburger with eggs. I ended up spending over $70 for my meal. Would come back to try other items!

Maggie W.

Yelp
I got the lemon ricotta pancake and Sunday omelette 2 (with tater tots). I liked the flavor and texture of the pancakes, and the variety of fruit on top. The omelette was mildly spicy, and I really enjoyed the cheesy-buldak flavor. The tater tots were nice and crispy. Speedy service and nicely shaded outdoor seating.

Yelp
I visited The Sunday today with my daughter and friend, and I was absolutely blown away by the quality of the food and the exceptional customer service. Our waitress and waiter were attentive, kind, and amazing. Even though it was her first day, our waitress was so professional and helpful that we couldn't even tell--it was such a seamless experience! The ambiance inside is charming and chic, with stylish decor and comfortable seating. Everything was spotless and inviting. There's also outdoor seating, which is equally nice and adds to the overall vibe of the place. The food? Absolutely incredible! We ordered: * French toast with eggs and fruit * Croffle with fruit * Cheese and veggie omelets with toast and home fries * Bulgogi omelet with an English muffin and potatoes Every dish was perfectly cooked and delicious. I'm extremely picky about eggs, but these were hands down the best eggs I've ever had! The variety of sauces available was a nice touch, and the house coffee was excellent as well. We were lucky to catch it during a less busy time, but I've heard it can get pretty packed with a line out the door--totally understandable given how amazing this place is. I'll definitely be coming back again and again!

Yelp
The Sunday in Oakland is a charming brunch spot with incredible Korean fusion dishes. The space is small and cozy, so it can fill up quickly, but they handle a lot of to-go orders, which is great if you're in a hurry. I tried the Korean spicy wings, pancakes, and bulgogi eggs Benedict, and everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were unique and perfectly balanced. If you're looking for a spot with creative dishes and amazing food, this place is definitely worth a visit!

Mimi L.

Yelp
This is a fun and cute brunch spot, but with limited seating so you may have to wait during peak brunch hours/weekends. Thought they had a great menu selection (Korean fusion) and I had trouble choosing. Ended up with the chicken and waffles (so pretty) and the spicy fried chicken Benedict. I thought the Benedict was just alright. The hollandaise sauce felt too thick and was congealed and the fried chicken could have used more flavor. My partner enjoyed the chicken and waffles, though I didn't taste any. I'd definitely come back to try more if I'm in the area.

Yelp
I recently visited Sunday, a fantastic brunch spot in Emeryville with a delightful Korean twist, and it did not disappoint! I ordered both the Chicken and Waffle and the Chicken Benedict, and they were incredible. The Chicken and Waffle was perfectly crispy and came with a subtle Korean spice that elevated the flavor. The Chicken Benedict was equally delicious, with juicy chicken and rich, flavorful hollandaise sauce that paired so well with the soft poached eggs. One of the highlights for me was their selection of hot sauces. They had several options ranging from mild to extra hot, each with its own distinct flavor. I loved the way the sauces added heat without overpowering the dishes, especially the Korean chili sauce. If you're looking for a unique and flavorful brunch experience, Sunday is a must-visit!

Yelp
Popular spot for Asian-inspired brunch in emeryville. I was pleasantly surprised by the house coffee; they use coffee from korea and it kept me awake until like 3am lol. Bulgogi omelette and lemon ricotta pancakes were both decent but not particularly amazing. I preferred the omelet's savoriness for brunch. We put our names down online for a reservation and were seated at the long table outside facing the street so it almost felt like we were the only people eating there. The waiter forgot our utensils so we had to go inside and wait in the cashier line to ask for some.

Christine H.

Yelp
The Sunday is a cute tiny spot that has all the hot sauces you could want. We opted for a Benedict (delicious) and the fried chicken and waffles. The waffles were sweet and savory and the Benedict had a runny egg. Tater tots is a MUST get. The crunchiest I've ever had!

Jason T.

Yelp
Came after a nice long run today and it's definitely a solid brunch place! If you're looking for a brunch place with some Korean influence, look no further! Came in around 12pm and waited about half an hour. The place is small so there isn't a large seating which can make wait times a little long on the weekends. The few servers they had work hard and were very nice! You pay at the front once you've finished your meal. Loco Moco: 4/5 - Good portion size and was pretty solid. A little different from a Loco Moco in Hawaii but would still recommend trying. Spicy Korean Wings: 5/5 - These were pretty fire and I would say are medium spice for my tolerance. Would def order this again! I will be coming back and trying some of their other brunch dishes in the future!

Andre A.

Yelp
Food... was so delicious. Very tasty Korean twist on American brunch with great plate presentation. Serving size was also really reasonable for its price! It was a little busy and only one server covering the whole floor, so the service felt a little slow at times. That's where they lost one star. With a couple of extra hands, I think the service could've been better. Didn't love the outdoor seating (it was right on a Main Street) but the inside seating had really cute ambiance/music. It's a smaller place so it did feel kind of tight. Overall, I recommend coming here and the high quality food makes up for the slower service and tight space.

Rosie M.

Yelp
My daughter and I decided to try something new for us in Emeryville. We found the Sunday en route to an early morning Ikea trip because the food images looked appetizing. I ordered the soyriso, and she ordered the bulgogi benedict. My dish was practically perfect! It had the right amount of heat, my eggs were cooked to perfection, and I didn't have to ask for hot sauce - by the way, there are lots of cute hot sauce bottles as the restaurant decor. My daughter liked her benedict, but she's half-Korean and said there was too much sweetness in the meat. I had to remind her that we were eating fusion. We both agreed that the sourdough toast and English muffins were AMAZING!! Be prepared on weekdays. There is a skeleton crew, so service may be a bit slow to answer your questions. We are excited to revisit with our friends, but on a weekday when their lines aren't crazy, Note: Park across the street; there is only 15-minute parking in front.

Carolus B.

Yelp
Yummy and fantastic service, the Sunday was an overall great experience. It's tiny, seating not more than 35 people tops but full of life.

Venkat R.

Yelp
An ideal brunch spot located in Oakland. The menu is a take on American breakfast with a Korean twist. The wait times are sneakily long and on the particular day , my party and I had to wait over 30 minutes long. They were clearly understaffed . What made up for the wait and poor service was the delicious food The soy garlic wings were an absolute hit as a starter. The lemon yuzu is a refreshing sweet and light drink that helps cleanse the palette. The soyrizo was a heavy yet absolutely delicious dish. Another unique feature of this place is the plethora of hot sauces they have that you can grab from a central location . You can chose from over 50 types of hot sauces !! We wrapped up the meal with the delectable lemon pancakes . Overall if you don't mind waiting a must visit for your next weekend brunch session

Yelp
Was planning to be in Richmond area on a rainy Saturday and decided to look up a highly rated place to eat breakfast in the area. Came across The Sunday and decided to give it a try! Upon check-in we were given a wait time of 45min. The restaurant is fairly small inside with only 6 tables. Outside they had 3 tables but on a cold rainy day, our preference was indoor dining. The wait was right about 40min. We opted for bulgogi tater tots, country fried chicken Benedict and bulgogi Benedict. Love the way they have the Korean infusion with their entrees. The bulgogi tater tots was served first, it was fried tots with bulgogi, kimchi and their own hot sauce on top with a fried egg!! A meal on its own. The entire meal had such great complementary flavors. Really enjoyed it!! The two Benedict's were also very tasty, one was similar to the tots that we tried out first. The staff is very friendly, efficient and helpful and we truly enjoyed the dining experience and plan to come back next time we are in the area. It was definitely worth the wait!

Yelp
The Sunday opened where Patatas was. Small seating area inside, a few tables outside. Minimal decor. Greeted, seated upon entry. Ordered, food came out shortly. Wasn't planning to come here. Got lost. Saw The Sunday. Decided to dine here instead. Offerings: benedicts, omlettes, sides, bar menu, classics, "maple", wings & fries, toasty, fusion... Eats: bulgogi benedict (21) -thin sliced rib eye on English muffin: tender meats With sweet & savory notes covered with chef's chipotle hollandaise sauce. Yum! -home fries abundant with perfectly textured finesse, no mushiness, nice crunch, artisanally sauced. Drink: korean coffee (4) -didn't taste bold, too much ice? Smooth taste. 4.5 stars....didn't see the Korean mini pancakes. Would have been interesting. Came 2ish, no waiting. Parking found around the block. Good Korean Fusion without gimmicks..

Yelp
Just came here on Sunday to celebrate my brother's birthday and it was wonderful! Ivan, Ezra and staff went above and beyond to help us celebrate his birthday and even helped my 5yr old niece feel included. The place is small but mighty and would recommend for the delicious food, the welcoming vibe and the great service!

Jenny N.

Yelp
Food 4/5 Service 2.5/5 Atmosphere 5/5 I came here on a Sunday for some late lunch. We were estimated 15-20mins and to our pleasant surprised, we were seated within 5 mins (yay!) There were a lot of Asian (Korean) fusion brunch dishes here and they also have a shelf of various hot sauces, which makes it super fun if you love eating spicy! Unfortunately, I'm not sure what happened with the Yelp app, but it looks like most of my photos didn't save or connect to my review. Overall the food was 4/5. They were mostly good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back for them again. The food... - Bulgogi Benedict: I would pass on this. The beef was very saucy and wet, which made the base/bread super soggy. - lemon ricotta pancake: yumm. not too sweet and super fluffy and good - Soy garlic wings: they had more drums than flats (my only complaint) but the wings were juicy and delicious. would recommend - spicy parm. tater tots: yumm! super crispy and they did not lie or skimp on the spicy part. - the sunday waffle: also a great dish! it was cripsy and not too sweet. loved it Service: Not attentive at all. Waited at our table for 15mins before we got up and asked if we were supposed to order at the cashier since nobody came to take our order. Didn't stop by once to check on us. They were nice overall but nothing special about the service here.

Yelp
My husband and I had a morning appointment in Emeryville and decided to eat something before we headed back home to San Leandro. He found The Sunday on Yelp and we lucked out with a spot near the entrance (it's street parking only payable through the ParkMobile app or the physical kiosks nearby). At around 11 am, all of the tables inside were pretty much spoken for. It was a sunny day so we didn't mind sitting at a table outside (they have a semi-transparent plastic tarp to minimize the gusts of wind and overhead heat lamps). Our infant daughter was also with us so outside was the best place to fit her stroller anyway. The menu is accessed through a QR code and easy to peruse. I love that there's a good balance of savory and sweet options, but also options that are more traditional versus fusion-y. I think this ensures that you can cater to all the different tastes in your dining party. We ended up ordering the following: - Lemon Ricotta Pancakes (just the pancakes this time, but you do have the option to make it a combo with sides like bacon or sausage) - Jae Yuk Omelette with Sourdough and Home Fries - Korean Style Wings (the waiter said these were his favorite) - Yuza Tea (I saw a photo of the presentation on Yelp and couldn't resist lol) By the end of the meal there just wasn't anything left to take home; we ate everything. Each dish was a highlight and something we'd definitely order again. If super fluffy pancakes are a must for you, you'll be disappointed. However, they deliver a great lemon flavor and are delicious even without syrup (served on the side). I'm not a huge fan of omelettes, the egg can be too thick, sometimes too rubbery in texture, etc., but I truly enjoyed the Jae Yuk omelette. The egg exterior wasn't too dense (it actually reminded me a little of the texture of Korean steamed egg) and it was chock-full of generous pieces of savory pork, onions, green bell pepper, and zucchini. The Korean Style wings had really bold flavor and, according to my husband, are probably some of the best wings he has ever eaten. They were cooked perfectly and the skin had a great crunch. Looking back, I was honestly surprised by how quickly everything came out after we placed our order, and by the fact that each dish was still piping hot. I was also really pleased with the service - friendly and attentive. We aren't in Emeryville a whole lot, but this place is definitely worth returning to.

Jake P.

Yelp
Delicious!!! Everything we had was a winner. Bulgogi Benedict, spicy kimchi tots, and stuffed French toast. This was our first time here and we will definitely be back. We didn't order any of the fried chicken, but it looked like a winner too! My only issue was that there were too many good dishes on the menu to choose. Also they have an amazing hot sauce selection and all of the staff were super friendly.

Sophia C.

Yelp
A nice Korean- American fusion brunch place near Berkeley. Not many seats inside and outside. We waited for more than 30 minutes to get seated on Saturday morning. Great food and great service. They have various brunch selections that everyone in our party of 7 got different dishes.

Alyssa D.

Yelp
Came on a Saturday around 10am and parking was surprisingly easy! This place had such a welcoming vibe that made me wish that I lived right across the street and could just walk over to eat anytime lol. The indoor space was pretty small but it was still spacious between tables to not feel cramped. We were seated right away and given the QR code for the menu. All the staffs were friendly and chill. It was a very relaxing brunch experience. We got coffees (life juice lol), the Sunday Scrambler, and the Two eggs with Country Fried Chicken. They came on beautiful plates, they were a good portion, piping hot, crispy, juicy, creamy and flavorful. To sum it up, everything was delicious! Will definitely return! With people! Thanks again!

Jim L.

Yelp
The small place fitting 16, is a korean splash to american breakfast/brunch. You can get you omelette or eggs Benedict with bulgogi, you can keep it simple chicken and waffle. It is good, i would come back, get the tots! There were two very wonderful servers. Street parking and a 3 floor parking lot across the street, not sure if free. -1 star because they did not have enough bulgogi for the bowl and not enough ice coffee for 3 people when then opened. But if you are okay with a kitchen running lean (not much left over for the next day), then this is really a 5 star food wise.

Dianna P.

Yelp
Went here this weekend on Saturday and apparently we were really lucky because we found parking and was seated without a wait. We heard later that they typically have a long waitlist so they suggest hopping on the waitlist ahead of time (for next time!) My husband got the french toast while I got the Loco Moco. French toast was pretty standard and the Loco Moco was pretty good but didn't blow me away. I guess for $20 I expected to be wowed just a little bit more, but it wasn't bad-just very standard in comparison to a $10 fast food loco mocos. Overall, I would still consider returning again to try some of the other yummy sounding dishes (depending on how long the wait is)!

Soo C.

Yelp
Amazing staff Amazing food One of the best fusion brunch places I've ever had since coming to the bay

Magen F.

Yelp
Service was best it could be, there was only one guy and it got busy, he was doing his thing. Food was just okay, was expecting more based on the yelp reviews. Got the chicken and waffles, the chicken was a chicken tender-fried, waffle did not seem fresh at all. Didn't have much vegetarian options either.

Monic R.

Yelp
Delicious, unique brunch foods! Outdoor space for eating with dogs. Nice server with helpful recommendations. Will definitely itelh be back. The lemon tea has bits of lemon, delish. The ice cream craffle was our fave dish! The tots were also yummy :)

Kimi M.

Yelp
Indoor and outdoor options, great service and good portions! Loved the wall of hot sauces too!

Judy H.

Yelp
This was a cute little spot in Emeryville. Came here on a Wednesday morning with a friend around 11 and the wait-list started. Put my name down and didn't even get around the block and my table was ready. The space is pretty cramped and I had to move around so the servers can get around me. I ordered the country fried chicken with an extra side of gravy and it was delicious. I subbed the potatoes for vegetables and the staff was very accommodating. My friend got the omelette and I tried a bite and it was good too. I'd definitely come back and try the other menu items.

Diana L.

Yelp
Sooooo goooddd! Service was top tier! One person running the show on a busy brunch day! He was def doing a great job! Place is pretty small but def worth it. We sat outside and it was a nice day! They have a cute hot sauce wall. We ordered: bulgogi bene, country fried chicken bene, eggs bene, locomoco, and chicken & waffle. Normally after eating out, we def feel bloated and overwhelmed. But this place did not leave us with that feeling at all! The chef tried a new dish and we got to try: Korean chicken and waffle drizzled with condensed milk - SO GOOD! Tater tots were cooked to perfection. A bunch of hot sauce to choose from! High recommend! (Menu avail digital!)

Kylin E.

Yelp
My BF and I recently went to the Sunday for an unplanned brunch on a weekday. We were seated immediately. The wait staff was fantastically friendly and accommodating. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are small, but the food makes up for it. between my BF and I, we had the loco moco, bulgogi eggs benni w/ tots, a croffle, and a hibiscus tea. Each item was delicious in its own right. Great textures, delicious seasoning, and super quick from order to table. We'll definitely be returning. My picky eater bf, who rarely finishes a restaurant meal without complaints, later said this was his new favorite breakfast/brunch spot in the Bay. High praise! Can't wait to try more on their menu!

Yelp
Great little place!!! Food is delicious and service is great. Just make sure to put your name on waiting list online if you decide to go on a weekend.

Yelp
Service was good, but the food needs work. It's Asian fusion, but missing elements. The best part of the meal for me were the country potatoes that I smothered in ketchup. We ordered the following: Bulgogi Benedict - this was maybe a 2.5 to me because the meal was really heavy and hard to finish. The orange sauce was pretty sweet, so it was sweet beef with sweet sauce and almost felt like a dessert Benedict. Loco moco - this was a 3 at best. If you've been to Hawaii, this is not even worth eating and the calories. The meat patty was fairly tough and chewy as if it wasn't fresh meat. In fact, the meat was grayish in color. Gravy was salty and okay. They added spam which saved it a bit especially if you grew up in Hawaii and nostalgia hits you. Chicken waffles - I didn't get to try this one cuz I saw a couple at another table leave most of it and when it came the fried chicken looked pale like a chicken nugget from McDonald's. All in all, it's a small brunch place with good service. I just wouldn't go back again because I didn't fancy the food.

Yelp
This is our 3rd time and certainly not our last! We've tried many dishes that were so delicious that we forced ourselves to order something new, adding to our dilemma each time we go. I'm very sure that you will love the food and return, like us. Besides the stellar food, the service is exceptional. Sylvia, the co-owner was accommodating, gracious, and attentive. When I asked about the side serving of English muffins, she showed me that they were served under the eggs benedict but generously brought out two more English muffins to enjoy separately. Her wait staff, Ivan and Ezra, were equally attentive, friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. Keep in mind that the restaurant is smallish but intimate and each dish is prepared with perfection. THE SUNDAY IS WORTH THE WAIT!

Yelp
Stumbled upon this brunch spot when I was searching on Yelp and I was impressed with the menu options! However, the wait was long since the restaurant is a bit small. There's probably 6 tables inside and 4 tables outside. I felt the waitlist process could be improved a bit. Only way to make a reservation in advance was through Google and not Yelp. Otherwise walk-ins will have to join the waitlist and select seating preference. My group opted for indoors since we have a baby in our group. By the time we received an alert that our group was next, we went to the hostess and she told us tables inside are not ready and the only large table available was outside. Unfortunately another staff seated a party of 2 at a table that seats 6/7. This restaurant can definitely work on internal communication and being more strategic with seating customers in my opinion. Onto the food, by the time we were seated the French toast was sold out along with the fries and seafood pancakes, huge bummer! But we ended up ordering the following and everything tasted delicious!: Spicy parm tots: super spicy but very crunchy! Made to order! Garlic park tots: very good! Love the parm and portion size! Croffle: highly recommend! Huge portion and came with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream! Must try! Lemon ricotta pancake combo: pancakes were really good, but I didn't taste the ricotta cheese. Love how they added fruit on top with syrup on the side. I opted for scrambled eggs and sausages! Highly recommend the sausage! Spicy chicken Benedict: my sister ordered this and said it was good and chicken was fried to perfection! The home fries were also very good! Soyrizo hash: my other sister ordered this and she said it was also good and flavorful. It came with bread and your option of egg. Spicy Korean wings: also very fresh and flavorful! Definitely more sweet than spicy in my opinion! Would've been nice if it came with a side of pickled radish! Parking: there's a garage across the street but there's a 2 hour limit. Street parking is free on weekends but paid meters on weekdays. Overall, food was good but wait was a bit long. Hopefully this restaurant can expand one day!

Yelp
Went to The Sunday back in July. The weather was great so we were able to sit outside. They had the Yelp waitlist feature which was useful but there was still quite a long wait. We ordered so many different items and honestly loved them all from the croffle, lemon ricotta pancakes to the bulgogi Benedict you cannot go wrong with any of their offerings. The service is stellar and the owner is very kind. This is definitely a future go to brunch spot for us. I do wish they had more coffee offerings but that is a small sacrifice for the food here! Definitely recommend and we'll be back!

Yelp
I was so pleasantly surprised with The Sunday! We stopped by here for brunch on our way to the city. The spot is small and humble but clean and cute. There are a few tables inside and 3 tables outside. There were about 2 groups ahead of us on a Sunday (hehe) at about 10am. We checked in and waited just around 20minutes. Service was attentive from start to finish. Croffle: we shared a s'mores croffle for the table. Perfectly soft with just the right amount of crunch. Super sweet because of the marshmallows and syrup but looked so pretty! Next time I'll try the plain version. Sunday omelette: my sister enjoyed her omelette and said the tater tots were top tiers Wings: the garlic Parmesan wings were a HIT. My 10 year old nephew can be picky and he devoured these. I had to beg him to give up a wing to his favorite auntie lol. They were perfectly cooked with good flavor, I hate when wings are overcooked and dry but these were juicy and tasty Spicy loco moco: they have one of the better loco mocos I've had. I like it a lot more the Denicas. The gravy is thinner with a lot more flavor and the spice gives it a good kick/dimension. I will say the patty is thinner than other places but that doesn't bother me. It was more than enough and cooked well. Soyrizo hash: my mom said she enjoyed it and couldn't tell it's vegetarian. I had a bite and enjoyed it as well! Would love to come back especially for the wings and spicy loco moco!

Yelp
I've been here twice and love it so much. I love that the owner and staff are so friendly and sweet. You feel like you're eating with your friends. My husband and I decided that this is our favorite brunch spot and if we have out of towners visiting us, we would take them here. During our last visit, we ordered the spicy loco moco, spicy fried chicken Benedict, spicy parmesan garlic tots, and the croffle. You have to get the tots! Everything was soooo delicious and full of flavor. The restaurant is small so to avoid a long wait, be sure to google them and join the waitlist ahead of time.

Yelp
Modern clean place. Bathroom was clean too. The service was friendly and food came relatively quickly. My son ordered the Chicken & Waffle and cleaned his plate so I assume it was good - looked appetizing with fresh fruits on top. I enjoyed my beef bulgogi Benedict- just wish they warned me that the Hollandaise sauce would be spicy.

Yelp
What a quaint, hip place. The idea of Korean brunch is like a two in one bite of heaven. What we had: Spicy chicken Benedict Kimchi bulgogi tots Waffle Soyrizo hash Korean style wings Korean coffee with cream Everything was really good but what shined for our taste buds and what I will go back for again was the waffle, tots, wings and coffee. I cant wait to try all their wings and more. Really looking forward the the lemon ricotta pancake with a side of bacon. They do sweet dishes impeccably (and im not a big sweet fan). . All the hot sauces are super fun but the wait staff and kitchen people MAKE this homey, comfortable mom and pop shop. These people are busting their humps and doing a great job. If you're in a hurry and don't have time for a Sunday brunch vibe, order takeout. And eat it in your car for maximum deliciousness. People seem to forget how hard it is to make money in food service. Keeping employees to a minimum is a must in the growth stage. I hope people will be kinder in reviewing with regard to the slowness. This will change in time with growth. Overhead is expensive. Especially when you get quality.

Yelp
Went for brunch after not really eating at a nearby 2-star restaurant the night before. Some breakfast dishes were familiar but we skipped those in favor of the unfamiliar - the Korean-fusion plates were terrific. If this place wasn't an hour from my house I'd have more of a reason not to cook my own brunch and to eat out more often. Service was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I watched them treat all the patrons like family. It's a small place but worth the wait if it's busy.

Yelp
I have been here multiple times since I moved to Emeryville for my last semester at Berkeley. It had instantly became my favorite brunch spot and I bring all of my friends here. The place is very cute but small so please be mindful that there might be wait time for peak brunch hours. The service is also amazing since the waiters are so kind and fast with their service (also might be because we are on a first name basis now ). I very very very much recommend to give this brunch spot a try, and you're gonna love it.

Yelp
Such a fun brunch spot in Emeryville! I love the hearty supply of hot sauces that they offer, and the dishes go beyond just the classic brunch items. I love seeing the Korean-fusion dishes, which I'll have to try next time! My husband loves fried chicken, so he ordered the Country Fried Chicken Benedict. He tried almost every hot sauce that The Sunday had, and they all HIT with the chicken. I ordered the Lemon Ricotta Pancake with eggs and sausage. The pancakes were not too sweet and had a touch of a lemony aftertaste. Pro Tip: Try the Buldak Hot Sauce with your sausage and eggs for a sweet/spicy kick!

Yelp
Second time we came to The Sunday. Food is great. All the staff very friendly and accommodating. I really enjoyed the huge selection of hot sauces (great touch). We seated both inside and outside with a heater. The best of all is that I live a block away from The Sunday. Highly recommended.
