Just had brunch here today and while I appreciate the "aesthetics" but the social media influence is beyond false. And this is why I hate social media "influencers."
First - you drive up and it's literally valet only (I'll get to that in a sec).
You walk up, and there is a door guy. Read that again, there is a door guy. Think bouncer like in a club which also told me - I'm probably in the wrong place. I was. Lol imagine what kind of clients how you would get if you actually need a door guy? Now also think that that's exactly what the staff also reflects...lashes like spiderwebs and nails longer than your index finger.
We asked the waitress how much a carafe was on the weekends because the menu only displays weekday cost and she bluntly and rudely tells us that there's no carafes on the weekend, but you can buy a bottle for $50. OK, what does that come with? Two baby bottles of juice. So you offer it during the week but not on the weekends? Here is an idea, for the price that you charge people, invest in different menus so your weekend patronage do not ask for what you offer during the week.
So we ask for recommendations on food options and our waitress gave us hers. I got the catfish and fixings, my friend got the chicken and waffles, and another friend got the egg white omelette. They start off by sending you croissants, drowning in honey. But these are not Homemade croissants, in fact, they are canned Pillsberry croissants, drowning, and honey. Thankfully, it was free and offered as a "complementary starter."
The catfish was perfection, which is why it got 2 stars. The grits were trash. The chicken and waffles did not compliment each other and honestly, the maple syrup tasted artificial with maybe some cayenne in it.
Oh we also got the fried rice as a starter and I kind of wished we didn't. Was it worth the $18? No unless you want your soggy rice to be drenched in soy sauce. And not even legit soy sauce, like Maggie's. It was the fake stuff from the grocery store.
Overall, the food was mediocre. Some pieces were cooked exceptionally well and some should not have even been considered added to the menu. But I can see that they're only claim to fame would be from the photo opportunities that people are looking for. Nothing really well wowing and after seeing the ambience, I understand why they charge $20 per person, for the reservation. They have probably had a lot of dine and dash customers. Oh one really important mention - gratuity is AUTOMATICALLY included, which is a peeve of mine. Let me decide how much I would tip based on service. But again - clientele meets staff and you will get the bottom of the barrel manners.
Now on to the $6 valet. Most places that are at a higher cost, usually offer complimentary valet. Especially if they cannot offer their customers adequate parking. But here's what really ticked me off. So the lady charged my credit card and told me I needed to leave a tip. I told her no thanks (bc I had cash I was going to tip the guy) and she ended up putting 4 other vehicles before mine. I stood in the sun for 24 mins for them to bring me my vehicle so I was so irate that I didn't even give the guy the $5 I was going to leave him.
AVOID THIS MONEY TRAP and shame on you influencers who market this place.
