Where to Find the Best Tea Service in Dallas for the Holidays - Eater Dallas

"For a punchy yet elegant and chic tea service, head to the Joule hotel’s Taschen Library. Inside a jewel box of a room outfitted with communal tables seating, guests can sip tea and champagne surrounded by art, color and culture. Every savory and sweet bite is expertly paired with fruity to spicy teas described in detail by the team at the Joule before each course. Tea at Taschen is $125 per person, including taxes, gratuity and valet (and includes a book to take home). Reserve at least 48 hours in advance, available select Sundays through December." - Courtney E. Smith, Rachel Pinn

"Just inside the art-filled lobby of the Joule hotel, this small library is lined wall-to-wall with gorgeous books from the German publisher. On the weekends, they host a delightfully unfussy afternoon tea (with champagne). While the books themselves are remarkable, the ceilings—tiled with mid-century mosaics by Millard Sheets that were salvaged from the wrecking ball in 2006—are spectacular, too. "

I've been collecting Taschen books for years, but stumbled onto this spot by accident after checking out the Giant Eyeball. Had no idea the Joule had a Taschen library – sometimes the best finds happen when you're not even looking. This place hits different. Clean, thoughtful setup that feels more like an art gallery than a typical bookstore. As someone who appreciates good design, I was immediately impressed by how everything's curated – the lighting, the displays, all of it just works. Ended up nerding out for 30 minutes, flipping through titles I'd never seen. Samantha, the Retail Manager, was cool as hell and actually encouraged me to take my time and explore. No rushing, just genuine enthusiasm for what they're offering. Obviously had to buy something before my flight. My only regret is not having more time because I could've spent hours in there. This spot alone has me planning another Dallas trip, and that's saying something coming from Brooklyn. If you're into art, books, or just spaces put together with intention, check this out. Worth the trip – even if you find it by accident like I did.

The sales associate is super sweet, helpful, and knowledgeable! The books are beautiful, and they have a range of different topics to choose from.

Hands down my favorite bookstore in Dallas. Whenever we are at golden gate park we make a stop here. Standouts are the kids and used book sections!

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place since the ambiance is so perf for private dining and the setup was so cute, but the food and tea just didn't justify the $68. It's not just because of the small portions, but the food in general just was not very flavorful. Let's just say it looked prettier than tasted. Food: The menu includes 3 different types of teas - I like the Morocco mint tea and the berry one only. They refill it 2x which is def more than usual tea places. Savory items include an egg shell with some cream inside and caviar on top with a potatoes chip. It had a seafood ish taste which didn't sit well with most people. The avocado toast was decent. I liked the macaron salmon even though it was a combo of sweet savory.. I'd eat it again. The cucumber sandwich was basic but good. The other savory items ran out because they didn't give us enough for our group... regardless, no one was raving about the other items. The sweet items all looked beautiful but the taste was basic. The only sweet item that stood out the was the banana chai bar since it reminded me of a banana pudding lol. 2 stars Ambiance: This is great for a small private group settled in a small library room. You can prob fit about 20-30 people in here. It's quiet and super private. The hotel itself has a very modern chic vibe so this room def carries the same theme inside. 4 stars Service: Tea time starts promptly at 2:30! Once you're seated, the hostess will go over the menu and history of the tea with your group. They were all very friendly and made sure our cups were always full with tea. They were also very knowledgeable about the different types of teas and gave recommendations for what to eat with each tea. 5 stars

Yelp
A friend invited me to Tea at Taschen, a Sunday event requiring reservations. Located in the Joule hotel, Taschen is this small bookstore with quite a few well-thought-out/provocative coffee table books. These books come at a high $$. At $68 per person for tea, you get tea service, champagne, assorted sweet and savory pastries and bites; and your gratuity, valet etc are all included. I loved the set-up for the tea - especially the colorful dainty china! To note - most of the seating is community style tables. So with each course (ie the layers on the serving trays) came a different tea, which the hostess explained what type of tea it was. I quite enjoyed the teas and champagne. The bites - they were ok - more fancy delicate pastries than something of substance to fill me up (ie I wish the bites were bigger). Nothing stood out too much for me except for the appetizer - this delicious egg salad with some froth on the top, served in an egg shell. Yummy, delish, great flavors! That one I had to have seconds (think there were some extra at the table from some people who did not show up). To note - the tea menu changes seasonally. I enjoyed the experience, and if you want a fancy, light tea, I would say try it once. I enjoy the Joule for the other restaurants, so don't know that I need to do the tea again.

Yelp
I was invited by a friend to an afternoon tea party at Taschen Library for her birthday a few years ago. The intimate library space was beautiful and quiet. Although there was one other party in the room, we really felt a private party experience. The waitress was very kind and explained every pairing of food and beverage. Everything was beautifully presented and the food was pretty good. It was a great experience and i highly recommend. Mostly for the ambiance and unique way to hang out with friends.

Yelp
My friends and I were wandering and exploring the shops in the Joule after we had brunch at CBD Provisions, and we wandered into Taschen. We're an artsy bunch, so we ended up spending a good half hour in here, chatting with the guy that works there and looking at books. What a unique little store. And the prices were so reasonable! When I see an art or architecture book, I just assume it'll be $50+, but a lot of the books were less than or around $20! Great place to buy a book on your favorite artist or architect or a gift for someone else! It's also gorgeous. We very much enjoyed our time in the store!

Yelp
Tea at Taschen on Saturday 1/9/16. Really, my first visit, I was told by a host to sit at a certain table, and feel free to sit where ever you like. Later on I was asked to move because two people wanted to sit infront of each other, they were late, but I had to accommodate them, coming after me. . Mind this there is a price for this event of $59 dollars, I am paying but is now being ushered around where to sit. Lost my appetite already, looked forward to this event, no longer. Will never come back to this place, lost a new customer. The first round of food already being displayed at the table for 30 min I watched the food before the tea arrived, a run down on what it was displayed. Need I say olive oil cake dry, their interpretation of scone a big F, dry, and they topped it with some cream on top for decoration. Yes, this pastry chef is not happy, because the products crammed out were subpar and a disappointment , clearly the person has no pride in the craft and should not be baking. The products were described as moist, th as t moisture must have been the immediate sip of the tea which was not hot. Oh, what a miserable try to do tea, no culture of tea in this country and then try to make is something luxurious, the only thing that was luxurious was the price tag. One thing in this town is to skip the tea, go to Americano. .

Yelp
Very nice bookstore however if you have an amazon prime acct you might want to check pricing on there first. No returns only store credit and exchanges.
