Fabulous venue, we saw Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs on the final night of their tour. Mike surprised the crowd with stories from his book and a night of Tom Petty favorites...priceless!

Gorgeous spot. Entry was smooth — quick bag check and metal detectors. It’s a smaller venue, so even from the back I could still see the stage pretty well, and I didn’t even have my glasses on.

Lovely venue to watch a favorite… close to quite a few restaurants nearby so take in dinner before the show!

i was sent to the back of the line and had to return to my car to drop my small digi camera off because the security wouldn’t let me take it in for the “not for radio” concert i check online and the rules and regulations said no professional cameras and no flash photography, i fit within the regulations and yet after telling the staff this information they would not budge , but when i got inside the person in front of me had an entire camcorder and was recording the whole show , this experience left me sour for the venue and will try and avoid this place from now on. PS i have seen many people bring their digi cameras on her tour this year and there was no statement from the band saying they don’t allow you to bring a small digi camera also just for information my camera did not have an attachable lense it was just a small old digi cam.

I love all historic buildings and this theater is one of downtown Los Angeles' beautiful historic theaters. The lobby decor is magnificent and the interior theater area is incredible, too. Also, unlike many of the other historic theaters in L.A., this one is open fairly regularly for concerts and shows. Most or all of the others only open for special occasions. I am only giving this theater four stars because the seating is absolutely brutal. The seats are extremely uncomfortable and there is almost no room between you and the seat in front of you. I highly doubt the seating is historic so, hey owner, fix this issue, please. Bad seats or not, if you get the chance to go to any of L.A.'s historic theaters, including this one, do not hesitate to do so. They are amazing works of art.

I hope they keep this theater open forever. It's stunning. They restored it beautifully. The ornate details and grand architecture are really something to behold. The sound was fine and views seem good enough from just about every section, although I didn't go up on the balcony. The seats are small, as is the norm for theaters of this era. They were much more comfortable than other venues I have been to in the area. My only complaint was I am not sure the doors close (or there actually are any doors) from the (sumptuous) lobby, so sadly we could hear the staff from our seats. They were talking loudly by the doors to the orchestra area, super distracting. It was a live podcast, so probably not an issue if it's a loud concert. The beauty of this theater and it's history is the thing, and it makes for a memorable experience.

I didn't eat here but the ambiance is beautiful and the staff were super friendly. I've been here before for other shows and always enjoy coming back.

I'm surprised I have never been here! It's a beautiful theater! I absolutely loved the architecture and design! You can enjoy the show from any seat so if you want to save a little money on the tickets the balcony is just as good! There is lots of parking area near by. The one next to it was $25 but there are more that may be cheaper like a block or few away. They served drinks, soda, water, popcorn and candy. I would def plan to eat before or eat after because it's just snacks.

Gorgeous theater! We came for the Magic Castle Live on Stage show and it was very cool! It's one thing to see magicians on TV, and quite another to see them perform in person. It'll leave you thinking "How did they do that??!" Coming to this show actually gets you an invitation to visit THEEE Magic Castle...can't wait!

Location 2: On Broadway in DTLA. Historic Theater District that is currently a mix of upscale bars, restaurants and hotels along with homeless tents. Some street parking and plenty of paid parking lots, but many may not be the safest. Don't leave anything in the car and pray for the best! The theater does not have their own self-parking or valet. Venue 2.5: Historic, nostalgic venue from early 20th century. Well-kept. Smaller-sized venue of about 1600 seats on three levels, floor, mezzanine and balcony. Looks like every seat has a good view. I was seated in the balcony and must say that the seats are very uncomfortable. No legroom (your knees rub against the seat in front of you and I am not a tall person). I've had better legroom on Economy flights :) Imagine that you are going to be in this seat for 2-3 hours and you cannot simply stand up and stretch without blocking the view of the people sitting behind you... It gets uncomfortable fast :( Service 2: The only services I was exposed to were the security staff and the ticket check at the entrance. The line to get in was long and slow. And they started the concert on time when there was still a long line of people outside waiting for the security check. Not nice! Staff however were friendly and polite. No issues with the staff whatsoever. Food & Drinks N/A: I did not have any food or drinks there. There are plenty of nice bars and restaurants nearby :) The last word 2.5: Nice historic venue to enjoy some good entertainment at. Will visit again but reluctantly so and only if my favorite acts were only playing there. Wish they could do something about their security checks and their seats.

Outstanding Venue to see a concert. And a beautiful and historic one at that! Saw Leonid & Friends and they were terrific and the ambiance of this stunning theater restored to it yesteryear glory is to be appreciated. From the ornate details and grand architecture to the excellent acoustics makes for a very memorable experience.

We came here for an event. There are parking lots nearby but the area is super sketchy. There are homeless and graffiti everywhere. The actual place is nice inside as it has that historic feel to it with a gothic style. We were not impressed with the food/drinks selection but not sure if it varies by event. There was a long line for the bar and once the event started the waiters went through taking more orders which was nice for you not to miss a beat. Overall the actual place was a good experience just in a terrible area.

Thanks to 88.5 the So Cal Sound team for the free tickets to see Mike Campbell and the Dirty Knobs. There was plenty of parking around the area and lots of food options. Once we were inside you're transported back in time, picture the inside of the Pantages theater, it's absolutely amazing. Due to the smaller venue it was a more intimate experience. Great acoustics and a great view of the stage. I'm looking forward to seeing more concerts at the United theatre

Last week, I planned and designed a dinner party in the iconic United Theater on Broadway! Our guests were blown away by this architectural gem of a location. We treated them to a private harp + violin performance on the theater's stage! We toured the property and learned all about its unique history! After that, the guests took their seats for a family-style feast in The Grand Lobby! You might recognize this incredible tool from the opening party scene in the movie Babylon! It was such a pleasure to work closely with the theater's events team. Ricky was a great planning partner and I cannot wait to come back here again with clients who want to plan a wedding or another epic event that will surprise and delight their guests!!

*** Cashless operation *** The United Theater on Broadway was first opened in 1927 and the theater is decorated in the Spanish Gothic Revival style. The theater was restored and reopened in 2014 as the Theatre at the Ace Hotel, but the hotel closed in January 2024 and reopened again in February 2024 as STILE Downtown Los Angeles by Kasa. Few blocks surrounding the theater (Broadway/W Olympic Blvd & Broadway/W 9th St) are relatively safe comparing with select parts of Downtown LA. [Parking]: There was a parking lot right next to the theater, but it was $25 flat rate, but luckily I was able to spot Joe's Auto Parks (1025 S Hill St) located just two blocks away for $5 flat rate. [Amenities]: Guests must be 5 years and older. Bag cannot be larger than 5 in. tall x 9 in. long x 2 in. wide. There's no coat check on-site. Earplugs are available upon request in the Box Office. No re-entry allowed. Restroom is located in the basement level only. Everyone had to leave via the rear exit. [Seating]: My seat in row J at the Upper Balcony Center had no cup holder and I accidentally knocked over a drink from the person who sat next to me. View from Upper Balcony Center section seat was alright, but can't say my seat was super comfortable. However the theater certainly had a great vibe. [Show]: Came here for a magic show and Jorge Blass was the best & the most memorable magicians for the show with out-of-this-world mind-blowing tricks. It was a solid venue and the parking situation was actually not as bad as other places like Hollywood Pantages Theatre.

Wandered around downtown before I went to the Orpheum theater and stopped in for a cocktail at the Ace Theater. I love the lobby with the faux library and the wonderful people at the desk next to the casual dining area downstairs. Great throwback to a grand time.

We came for the Free Jokes! We are at the United Artists Theater!!! The flagship theater created for the United Artists Studio ... which was founded by the likes of DW Griffith; Douglas Fairbanks; Mary Pickford and Charlie Chaplin... sure to have stepped foot into this very Theater back in the roaring 20's... this was one of many flagship Theaters built for United Artists Studio at the time... We are at the Historic United Artists Theater now the home of THE ACE HOTEL...that's right ! This very windy Cinco De Mayo 2024 ...We left the historic Hollywood Athletic Club about an hour ago...for an Imagen Foundation Awards celebration hosted by Apple TV and now we're here... The ghosts of Mary Pickford and Charlie Chaplin seem to follow us around everywhere we go!!! Hey! I ain't complainin'... Netflix is a Joke Comedy Festival is handing out free passes all along their comedy fest... so be sure to grab a few tickets when you can or as they last! The festival won't last forever...and these ghosts can get pretty needy... We came to see Patton Oswalt...the man did not disappoint...the headliner delivered his usual fare of smart acerbic commentary... and tried out some new jokes for his new special he seems to be whipping up... His comedy stylings were preceded by a few comedians including Ben Feldman... the Tourette's kid spitting comedy venom was definitely worth an ear shot! The kid made me a little dizzy ... but he was funny... lol All in all a wonderful evening that began at 7pm and ran through nearly two hours ... Set in the beautiful and historic United Artists Flagship Theater ... what more could you ask for...!? Thanks Netflix!! Now ... are these ghosts gonna follow me home?! Please do!!! We're in good company...

This beautiful theatre is so spectacular inside Had to look in to who built it and what was behind it as far as the murals and mirrored glass up top with wood framing Stunning !!! The three story building is so spacious and has many drink / snack options I love how no matter where you sit you can see the stage . Bleacher seats Nothing worse than a tall long necked person sitting in front of you . This theatre is amazing Great job in the layout . Very gothy with class

This theater is absolutely gorgeous! Due to the location we decided to use rideshare instead of driving and it wasn't too hard to get to and from the venue. Drinks and snacks are available and what I love about this venue is the multiple stations so that there is not a long wait and you can back to your show immediately. The second floor bathrooms only have one stall! This caused a long line during intermission but if you walk down the stairs, the first floor bathrooms are much larger. I would attend an event here again. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This has to be one of the most beautiful venues I've ever entered. And I'm so sad I was only able to go after they had announced their closure. The Theatre at the Ace Hotel is a former church, which you can note right away from the religious symbolism as you enter. I was completely blown away by how beautiful this architecture was and how beautifully preserved it all was. We sat at the front of the balcony for our show, and we had a great view and a great time. Staff was helpful in navigating us, and food/merch lines never got too long. If you have a chance to stop by the Theatre at Ace Hotel before they close, by all means do! It was such a special experience to be able to be in a theatre like this.

Okay, so I went back for my second experience here. As you can see from my first review, I warned not to sit in the back of the orchestra due to loud noise from the lobby as the concessions closed down for the night. I stupidly thought the balcony would be the way to go. DON'T DO IT! I went to see Death Cult's only US show here before their reunion tour through Europe, and the balcony turns out to be a torture chamber. As you can see from my photos, the space between the front of your seat and the seat in front of you is not even the space from the bottom of my palm to the top of my middle finger. I am only 5'9" and my legs are not bulky but they did not fit. My knees did not fit. I had to try to sit at a slight angle. I don't know how tiny people were in the early 1900's or whenever this place was built, but it is not meant for modern man. I was in excruciating pain all night. It didn't help that the jerk behind me kept wolf whistling with his fingers in his mouth at train horn level every 90 seconds into my eardrums. If you must go to the Theatre at the Ace Hotel get orchestra seats away from the back and do not whatever you do sit upstairs in the balcony. Every person who came in immediately commented how horrible and painful the seating was.

It's an old historic theater perfect for silent films and other live events, and in this case it was the Magic Castle Live showing. We sat in the left side upper balcony. The view was decent for a live show. The theater must have been truly amazing back. it's day. It is still a worthy facility, but you definitely know you're in an old historic theater. Glad we are able to still enjoy it.

Saw the Magic Castle Live show this weekend. First time visiting this theater in Hollywood. It's tough to find parking downtown, so leave early. The theater is small but quaint. Be sure to check the house rules regarding what you can and cannot bring inside the theater. Ladies, only a small clutch purse! The ushers were very helpful in guiding us to our seats. I found the temperature inside to be hot and stuffy. Perhaps because the magic acts use smoke, but the house was full, so the staff should have turned up the A/C to make the theater more comfortable.

Gorgeous small and quaint but very spacious at the same time. Very much an Intimate ambience with performers. It's a vibe!

What a fun spot! The theater is great- much larger than I was expecting. The seats seemed to all have a great view of the stage. There's a lower level and then also an upper balcony. It felt like a cool temp inside. They have bars accessible at every level and even some snacks for purchase.

Gorgeous!!! I was SHOCKED. Beautiful decor! Great leg workout on the stairs. The decor??!! The design and the entire experience was incredible! I'm not sure why it's not better known! It's beautiful! I love that it's kept the same and I'm looking forward to what they're going to do with the new owners. I want to go again soooooon!!! Parking along the back is solid!!

Beautiful venue! Being at this venue felt like being transported in time. Came here for a Pink Sweats concert and had an amazing time. That said, I hear some seats aren't as good. We were at Lower Balcony Center, Row E which provided a great view & the seats weren't as cramped as the other seats at the balcony. First, the PARKING: There were different parking spots around the area. I think there are generally flat rate parking for around $20-25. SOUND: Not bad! The acoustics were decent at our seating area. DRINKS/FOOD: There were a few places that had drinks and popcorn/snacks. As with any venue, the lines can be long, but they are fairly quick. Plus, I think it's cashless which makes the process go faster. Overall, would recommend for a show/event, but I likely wouldn't get a seat higher than Lower Balcony Center as the seats looked a bit cramped & uncomfortable to sit in for an hour or more.

Cool ambiance with the gothic look on the inside and that's pretty much all good this theater has going on. The stairs are steep and windy and I have tripped and lost balance and have seen others mock me and do the same on multiple occasions. The seats should be fine for dwarfs. But if you are any bigger than that you will suffer. The men's restrooms are tiny and each has capacity of 2 men doing business and 2 men washing up at best. The sound travels very bad. We went to see Anthony Jeselnik and I could barely make out what he was saying at the upper balcony. The line was moving fast. Thanks to the organizers. Been there twice and that feels like too much.

A beautiful historic theater with topnotch service. I appreciated the free water available at various stations throughout the place. We were there for Juatin Willman, who is a master of both magic and comedy. He put on an amazing show. My companion and I had different tickets as I had purchased the VIP option for the meet and greet. I want to give special thanks to the staff for arranging it so that my plus one didn't have to wait outside alone. They made it possible for her to stay inside the theater and wait for me in safety. Thank you, United Theater, for looking out for us.

This past Friday, My GF & I went and saw Mark Normand here at the Theatre at the Ace Hotel. Parking for the event was pretty easy. We didn't want to chance getting close to the venue and there not be spots, so we parked a couple blocks away at a structure and walked there. Getting into the actual venue was easy too. We pulled out our tickets to be scanned, after that we emptied our pockets and went through the metal detectors. Doors opened at 6:30 and we got there right when it opened. Finding our seats were easy as well. Plus we got help from one of the ushers so that made it even easier on me. Much thanks to them for all the help. All 3 comedians were amazing that night! Definitely a great first stand up show for my GF! One she'll always remember. I loved the show & the time we spent inside The Theater!

Such a beautiful a nice theater! We ate dinner prior to our show but a small popcorn looked to be about $6. They also served a moderate range of alcoholic drinks and candy. The staff were so nice in guiding us to our seats and the bathrooms! They really made it such a nice experience. We did find that there was no AC so we were sweating!

The only reason I'm giving this beautiful theater a 4 is because if you have to go to the bathroom in the middle of a set/production, everyone in your row has to get up because there is literally no leg room to squeeze through (I get that this is to fit more people, but can still take away from the show for a moment). But again, beautiful theater. Drink/food prices were "fair" for a theater in my opinion and the sound system wasn't bad! Would totally go again.

First of all, the theater is now under new management and has been renamed The United Theater on Broadway. My friend and I attended a taping of the podcast, Criminal. The doors opened at 7 and I arrived at 6:30 in the rain . So, of course I had to wait outside. The security is very much like trying to board an international flight! Empty your pockets, no outside water, each individual is wanded and you must open your coat and turn around with your arms extended. Wow! I felt very safe once I was finally permitted to enter. But once you enter, it's eerily quiet with the feeling of days gone by, but the elegance is apparent. There were at least three bars and very minimal snacks. I suspect the fare will increase over time, but the drink selections were much more extensive than most theaters. Also, the bartenders were a complete delight. Funny, helpful and patient. They could easily become Flight Attendants or cruise staff without skipping a beat. Thank you Vanessa and Christa, you gave our evening an absolutely wonderful start. Then when you walk into the actual performance theater, it's stunning! It's a bit dark, so it's hard to get the full breadth of the opulence, but it was magnificent. Each time I looked up at the ceiling or the walls, I noticed another detail. Our seats were orchestra level, right, about seven rows from the front. Great view, comfortable seats. And lastly, I'd like to thank the House Manger, Eric. From the very beginning, we couldn't find our tickets, he could not have been more kind and helpful. He gave us very interesting information about the history of the theater and it's clear he loves his job. All around a lovely way to spend a wet Wednesday school night. 10/10, highly recommend.

Los Angeles has a number of exceptional venues for live music, this is one of them. Sound is fantastic, security is good in that you don't know that they are there (unless needed). Of course beverage prices are stupidly high, but that's just the way it is. Maybe it's the historical aspect that gives this a warm vibe and patrons seem to enjoy each other's presence. I great place to see live gigs

Came here to see Ukrainian band, Dakhabrakha. AMAZING multitalented musicians who gave a brilliant performance! Gorgeous theater. That is we're the praise ends... Theatre is terribly run! The theater itself is a beautiful landmark. Beyond that the bathrooms are small, dingy and badly in need of renovations. Getting our tickets from will call was absolute mayhem. Ordered online and instead of emailing QR code or digital ticket, we had to wait in line for will call for an hour to receive paper tix. Staff manually sifted through tix with our names on them. What is this...1980? As a matter of fact it was so chaotic, people were still in line until 8pm, half an hour after the show was supposed to start. To make matters worse, the ushers were shining flashlights in peoples faces, and speaking in "outdoor" voices. They obviously hadn't been trained in proper theater etiquette. At one point, an usher was having a full conversation with someone during the performance and everyone in our section had to tell him to be quiet. Unbelievable. Once we were out of that epic line and inside, to add insult to injury, the concessions were awful. Purchased an $8 popcorn and received a crackerjack size box of super salty, stale cardboard. Really?This theater seriously needs to get their sh*t together. Unless it's a band I absolutely cannot live without seeing, I will not be coming back here again.

If I could give a zero star, I would. ___________ Concert promoters, pls do not book this place for your talent, unless they agree to keep bathrooms open, improve lighting design, etc. ___________ Their lighting team is not focused. BeWhy asked for lights on the audience for different reasons. It took 2-3 requests before they did anything. - Also the lighting design is limited, not great for a cool performer like BeWhy ___________ $70+ tickets + pkg + gas/time and no access to bathrooms after the show. UNBELIEVABLE Can't believe this venue is part of a hotel. - the LACK of hospitality was off the charts!!! I was here for last Thursday's BeWhy concert. Parking at this venue is $25. AVOID IT. You can find $6 parking on Hill St between 9th & 8th streets. Two thumbs down, way way down for all the restrooms being closed off after the show!!!! They told us to search for a restroom outside (WTF, 11pm in DNTLA???) Common sense is not so common! - 1.5 hrs drive to DNTN LA - 3.5 hrs for the show - 2 hrs drive back home Well God was on my side!!! I experienced a bladder control miracle. LOL U SUCK, THE THEATER AT THE ACE HOTEL IN DNTN LA!!! So Very #inconsiderate and #cruel. The tone is set at the top, so this is seriously lack of long-term thinking from management. In the future - I will avoid any and all concerts at this venue!

The Theatre at the Ace Hotel is a beautiful theater. The seats are a bit old and do not offer much room, but it's a fun place to catch a show. The restrooms on the ground floor are larger than those on the upper floors. We went through security and bag checks on the way in -- they allowed me to bring in my water bottle but made me empty it first. Luckily, they had water dispensers at the bars. There are parking lots nearby and street spaces within walking distance. The sound is pretty good and I could see the screens even from the nosebleed seats. In terms of shows, my favorite was the Pop Up Magazine -- I think it was a farewell tour, but would definitely recommend it if it returns!

What an amazing quaint Theatre in LA. I have never been to such a beautiful venue and I was in awe with the decor and the inside of this Theatre. I was here on a Saturday to watch the She & Him concert and I was in love. My group and I walked a few blocks from where we ate and parked but it was not that bad of a walk. When we got there they searched our bags and scanned our tickets with no issues. The theater has restrooms but keep in mind that it is old & the lines might get long because of the limited stalls. But still.. the restrooms were kept very nice and clean and stocked. We sat at a decent section, there was not a bad spot in the Theatre. The seats are small, and the sections are small as well. My brother in law is 5'10 and his knees were pretty close to the seat in front of him. (Again, old theatre so its kind of a given) Because of the intimate setting we were not permitted to take video or pictures during the performance which was fine by me but I don't know if this applies to other acts here. The sound was amazing and it was just an amazing atmosphere. I had an amazing time here! We stayed way after the encore to walk around the area and explore, it was just such a beautiful theatre. I hope to go back soon !

Ace is a venue which is packed full of perfections; acoustically excellent sound quality, cleanliness beyond belief (cleaning crew outside theater, and always 3-4 in women's bathrooms), ice cold complimentary water, friendliest staff I've ever met at a venue, and the list goes on and on. Tickets are the most economically sound I've found for a seated venue - recommend looking resale closer to performance date - gonna hate this competition but I'm all about sharing the love. Patience is a virtue often and especially with concert tics at Ace. Snagged 2 consecutive days at a steal from Ticketmaster's sister companies- SeatGeek for Wednesday and AXS on Thursday. Resale will improve exponentially the closer you get to actual performance. We sat smack in center front row for Wilco on Wednesday and few rows back in center for last nights performance. Parking is tough and a bit sketchy out there - we park in safe underground garage with full time security for $9 flat rate, off 5th Ave. Check out Ace's entertainment lineup..... incredibly eclectic from bands of course, but also comedians, to health related experts. I'll likely see you there!

Came here tonight to see comedian Michelle Buteau perform at 8 PM. Keep in mind parking is going to be anywhere from $15-$25 around this area on a busy night. Security was pretty easy to get through once I emptied all my pockets and went through the metal detector. This place has an old Italian/gargoyle, eerie almost haunted vibe to it. The stairs are dark and short so be careful cause there was a lot of people tripping going down those stairs once we were released. The set up and the restrooms is kind of weird. Have a cute powder room with really good lighting for pictures but like I said, it's like old-school Victorian outdated There's even signs of being careful what to put in the toilet because they're plumbing is bad and it's an old building. Seats are super small tight. No legroom and it's super steep in here. Definitely not handicap friendly whatsoever. Not the best place to have a function but got the job done

AN ABSOLUTELY MUST DO! 5 STARS! It's Time to jump into The TimeMobile & scour the Earth & take you to places from a different time that you won't believe still exist! We have set the dial to 1927 in downtown Los Angeles. We've landed at The Theater @ The Ace Hotel. This is a Beautifully restored 1600 Seat Movie Palace in DTLA. The architecture is Spanish Gothic & has a massive 3 story grand lobby. This was formerly known as the United Artists Theatre & was their flagship theater. United Artists was formed by D.W. Griffith, Charlie Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks & Mary Pickford who broke away from the major studios to have more creative control. The structure was designed by architectural firm Walker and Eisen & designed by C. Howard Crane. It has changed names & ownership several times over the years . It's now been restored to its 1920's grandeur. You have to check out every inch of all 3 floors. You might miss something Cool. IT IS SPECTACULAR! They now have concerts, live performances, movies & special events here. Goldstar had Discount Tickets for the Original Frankenstein with a Live Orchestra for Halloween 2022. They had 2 shows. It was FANTASTIC! It was packed with people. There are multiple parking lots on different streets in the area with various price points from low to high. You've got to check out one of their shows & experience what a movie palace.felt like from the golden age of Hollywood. It used to be, you had to have Mega Bucks & be really Rich to have the Good Life, not anymore. The Game has changed. You've been Upgraded. Now You Can Live Like a King on a Limited Budget!

This is a nice old theatre in L.A. It's perfect for seeing a show. It looks like there isn't a bad seat in the house.. The architecture of the building is beautiful. I wish I could come during the day where I could appreciate it. They just don't make buildings like this anymore. The only downside was having to wait before being allowed to our seats. The lobby got awfully crowded. My lady was lucky to find a place to sit. I don't know if this is normal or because the performer was late. I was lucky to park in the lot next door for $20. I wasn't about to drive around forever looking for street parking. If the right event is here I would return. It's easy to get here from the freeway. I hate L.A. traffic and normally take Metrolink or Amtrak then use L.A. Metro when in L.A.

The architecture is very beautiful and breathtaking at times - it really is a gem in the middle of DTLA for this reason. However, the historical nature of the building is both the best and worst things about this location. The seating in this theatre could best be described as torture devices. If you are taller than 5'4", your concert experience will be difficult and uncomfortable. You will spend 70% of the show contorting your legs and twisting your body to at least make the experience bearable. Luckily I was able to make friends with the people in my row as we commiserated about the ridiculous seating, so not all was lost? Another reviewer said that they did not check vaccination cards although Axis says to bring them with you. I can also confirm this. I read another review saying don't bother buying a ticket past row P, and I can tell you that this is sound advice. Unless you are sitting in the balcony, center orchestra, or closer to the front on the R/L sides, your view will be encumbered and you will hear the bar during the quieter moments of the show. The customer service was whatever - no employee was especially friendly or outgoing, but nothing stood out. Bar serves drinks and concessions - a water is $5.00. A soda is $5.00. There are a few parking lots in easy walking distance from the theatre. The charge was $25.00, which was worth the convenience. Overall, is it worth it? If you are in it for a fun date night, I would just go to the bar and see the architecture. If you are going to a show? Get a seat closer to the front and make sure you do some stretches before going out.

What an impressive theater. Would never expect such a visual treat from the exterior facade. The inside has wood working is very detailed. It felt like you were in a Europe viewing a Roman cathedral. Stained glass is everywhere, you find beautiful hanging chandeliers, lampshades and classic stylings. They kept it original which is nice, hate to see gems like this modernized. Even the restroom were just as pretty with styling from back in the day. The porcelain and tile was everywhere.

I saw Regina Spektor perform here amid all kinds of familial nostalgia, some of which wasn't even my own nostalgia but which I knew, somehow, was nostalgic, so when I brought it up with my dad afterward, he remembered a radio jingle from the 1940s that he probably hadn't thought about since the 1950s, at the very latest. But back to the concert. This was really the makeup concert for when I saw Regina Spektor perform at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley in April 2017 amid a downpour. The weather that night worsened as the show progressed, and it got so windy that they decided to end the concert rather than risk the performers' safety. Regina was on board with that decision, but she felt rather bad about ending the concert abruptly, so she came out and performed a couple of songs solo, kind of a closure-inspiring pseudo-encore. I have always liked Regina, but that night really made me love her in three of the four Greek ways. She's a true mensch, and although she didn't technically owe me a concert, I felt like I technically owed myself a concert. Sadly but actually happily, the next time she came around was on a day I would be out of town, but it also fell on my mom's birthday and a few weeks after my sister's, so I got them tickets to see her in Anaheim. But back to the concert. Finally! Getting to reward myself for my patience. I came with my sis, who is a true concert-going companion and has been to me since I was a freshman in college and she took me to all these shows! She's like the sister in the Juliana Hatfield Three song "My Sister," except that whereas the younger sibling in that song has a love-hate relationship with her older sister, I only love my sister, even when she's being difficult, because (a) that's very rare and (b) my being-difficult ratio to hers is about 127:1. But back to the concert. What a lovely venue! It's a restored movie palace, and I don't use that archaic term lightly or just because I'm some seventh grader who learned how to use a thesaurus. No, Ace Hotel's theater was one of those (then) lavish theaters where Hollywood blockbusters premiered back in the day. L.A.'s Broadway was never quite like New York's, but it was the site of lots of vaudeville acts and musical performances, but all of that ended a really long time ago, although my dad remembers seeing some acts on Broadway in the 1950s, when things had already gone quite a bit downhill. But back to the concert. The lobby is really spectacular, and while its size and grandeur are kind of anticlimactic when compared with the theater itself, they've done a really good job of restoring all those ridiculous details from the original crazy craftsmanship. It's a pretty small theater, so even though we were sitting in one of the last rows, we had a perfect view. Regina was her normal playful and engaging self, and it was really neat that her set was pretty different from the interrupted one I had seen in Berkeley and even from the one my sister had seen just a bit before in Anaheim. It was one of those concerts that leaves you in a happy daze, and you might forget the walk back to your car, although I didn't because we almost got run over by an idiot who wasn't paying attention while we were in the crosswalk. Back to the nostalgia. So when my sister and I were eating nearby on Broadway, I spied this really old-looking neon sign atop a building. I couldn't quite make out what it said, so I took a picture of it and zoomed in. Eastern Columbia. Hm. That sounded like some old film company that no longer existed. Why was its sign lit up? When I showed it to my dad, his eyes gleamed, and he instantly sang, in a very 1940s sing-songy way, "Eastern-Columbia, Broadway and 9th!" My dad is a big-time storyteller, so I've heard everything from his childhood at least 50 times, but he went on to talk about how that used to be the site of Eastern-Columbia Department Store, and they used to advertise on the radio with that jingle all the time. Wow. Just wow. Thank you, The Theatre at Ace Hotel, for helping me enjoy some serious family time, even with someone who wasn't at the concert.

Loved it! My husband and I were at this venue last night to see Anthony Jeselnik and it was awesome! Parking was a breeze, we got a spot in the lot down the street from the building for $20. Super easy to get in and out and it was very close to the theatre. We both used the restrooms when we arrived. Bathrooms were clean and there were plenty of stalls for everybody. My only possible gripe is they are down flights of stairs, which was fine for me, but i'm not sure how people who have issues with stairs get down there? The theatre is small and I imagine wherever you sit are good seats. We were front and center and it was perfect. This place is beautiful! I loved all the architecture and the lighting. The history of the theatre is amazing too, such a cool place! Seats weren't too cramped, but my husband was getting uncomfortable cause he has long legs. Not an issue for me though! I will definitely keep my eye on their calendar and come back out for another show if there is something else that interests me!

I saw Mickey Dolenz Celebrate The Monkees concert at this theatre. Not only was the concert fantastic, but this venue brought me back to a nostalgic time from the moment I walked inside. The architecture is impressive. The theatre is well-maintained and clean. Staff and audience were friendly. Parking is decent. The venue is located in the fashion district of downtown LA with a bit of a night life. It should be noted that the Will Call booth did not open 90 minutes before showtime as stated. It opened at the same time as the doors opened. It's right in front of a doorway where a lot of people were entering the theatre, so both lines collided. For this reason, I couldn't give it 5 stars. Overall, the concert and venue was a wonderful experience.

The theater at Ace Hotel was on my list of "must go to" places in LA. I became a bit obsessed with it. And finally, after having the chance to go to it, I surely wasn't disappointed, it was prettier, more impressive that I ever imagined. It's probably the most beautiful theater I've ever been to. As a film lover, I'm fascinated by the history behind it, it used to be called United Artists Theater, as the cool company founded by Mary Pickford, Charlie Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks, D. W. Griffith, the silent era icons, back in early '20's. The architecture is gorgeous, in its Spanish Gothic style, all I could think while I was in there how much it resembles Gaudi's unique style. The theater was remodeled and finally opened again in 2014. It's a jewel of our city. It's located inside Ace Hotel, in the middle of Broadway, and its theater district. You can walk to it from Pershing Square's subway stop, direct route on Broadway. As always, I don't recommend driving in downtown (now it's even more construction in the area). It's more fun to walk and stop to enjoy the old buildings and their cool designs. Ace Theater has a wonderful lobby, full of wonderful details, it's like a lace that never ends. The interior is the same with beautiful paintings and fresco-s. Beautiful seating, very comfortable, great sound and out of this world lighting. This is the best theater on Broadway and probably in this city. It's my favorite. You have to see it to believe and appreciate it. I'm still mesmerized by it. It's hard to describe its beauty, it takes your breath away.

Venue is ok they seem to rely on the fact that the building is old to not have too much going on. The theater is beautiful but that kind of is the highlight. Right when you walk in is the concession stand so you have to walk through the line to find out where you sit. The seating arrangements aren't clearly marked
