The Best Bars In Bushwick - New York - The Infatuation

"There are no gimmicks at Three Diamond Door. No wacky theme, no cheesy decor, no arcade games, and no skeeball machine. It’s just a cool spot with cozy leather booths, a good number of beers on draft, and some reasonable beer/shot specials. It’s also pretty versatile. Sit in the front for a normal bar feel, or head to the back room for dancing. On weekends it gets packed, and it’s a good place for a birthday after-party." - neha talreja, bryan kim, willa moore

17 Bars Where You Can Bring Your Own Food - New York - The Infatuation

"If we’re getting a drink in a Bushwick, The Three Diamond Door is the first place that comes to mind. This is probably because it feels like a neighborhood bar where people would hang out in a sitcom about Bushwick, and if you stick around late enough, it’s a great place to meet strangers. It has a long bar, big booths, and a space in the back that turns into a dance floor on weekends. They also let you bring in your own food, and there are lots of good options nearby. If you want a burger, for example, get it from BK Jani. Or if you want some pizza, pick one up at Archie’s." - bryan kim, matt tervooren

Casual Spots To Grab a Beer With Friends

"Usually when someone builds a bar this nice, they have some sort of ulterior motive. Maybe they want to sell you a twenty dollar cocktail, or maybe they want you to pay a cover to hear some guy with a handlebar mustache pluck an upright bass. Not the case at Three Diamond Door. Just come through with friends, grab a nice leather banquette, and drink cheap-enough drinks until the early morning. This is Bushwick, so pretty much everyone’s going to be younger and cooler than you (in a way that probably isn’t cool), but you can always just have a few beers and dance off any frustration in the lively back room." - bryan kim

"Brooklyn vibes are strong at the Three Diamond Door, where the tattooed bartenders look as imposingly cool as they are friendly and easygoing. There’s no bar in the area more festive on Friday and Saturday nights, when every inch of the place is packed, including the yard and back bar room where amazing dance music blares. There’s prosecco on tap, an excellent selection of beers, leather booths to sink into, and incredible people-watching. "

Had a lovely night out in bushwick and decided to have a nightcap at three diamond door! Randy took the best care of us. Despite a couple chaotic customers Randy handled everything with pure class. What an amazing bartender! Can’t wait to come back!

Google
I honestly love this place! They have DJs playing most weekends from 10-4am in the back room where the dance floor is. There is a bar in the front and back so you can easily get service. The drinks are good and fairly priced. There is tons of seating (including outdoor) so you can almost always find a spot. I always have a great time when I visit!

Google
Amazing playlist, good service and the vibes are immaculate. What more do you want? Shot of fernet? Sure thing! Great night as always at Three Diamond Door

Cool place and a very welcoming atmosphere. We came here around 2 pm to have a beer and really enjoyed the staff and patio. I want to come back for the night time!!

Google
Update...apparently security has issues with 'certain' people but allows obvious 'working girls' to parade in front of the bar and go in/out as they please. Cool spot with a queer trendy younger crowd. Fair drink prices and a nice outdoor space.

Yelp
Such a great spot with additional space towards the back. Reasonably priced, too. Would absolutely return.

Yelp
Old trusty! This place has been around for a while and I have had a lot of good times. There isn't any food but afterwards I would go next door to Leo's Mexican. The daytime specials are great and the night time prices are pretty reasonable for the area. One time I went there for a dance party. It was super fun! Another time I went with my friend who had Tourette Syndrome. He started kicking the wall involuntarily. The bouncer yelled at him and we got thrown out. Can't win'em all...

Yelp
Fun dive bar. Great prices in draft beers. They had a courtyard which was open until around 11 on a weeknight. Service was very quick and they accommodated our large group.

Yelp
Love me a good dive bar! Dropped in after cocktails at Palmetto's down the street for a quick drink. Seems like a good place to just chill with friends and get a few rounds. It reminded me a lot of horses and divorces in Williamsburg (which in my eyes is a compliment). Fast service, people pretty much seemed to keep to themselves which I appreciate and nice bartenders.
google avatar

Gina M.

Yelp
The rudest experience. The bartender yelled at me and then told me and my friends to never come back as he begrudgingly closed us out. I can't believe the audacity of the bartenders as he was "training" a new employee. It's no wonder why they keep getting new employees. The bar was completely dead on a Saturday night so seems like the bartender is def keeping the crowd away with his nasty behavior.
google avatar

Katie S.

Yelp
This place is such a hidden gem! I didn't even know there was a back bar until I had to go to the back back. ERIK is a beast behind the bar. Attentive and entertaining, this man is an elite bartender. I'll be back next week!

Yelp
I went here on Monday night (5/23/22) to celebrate my graduation and had an incredibly rude and inappropriate experience with the bartender (a woman with brown hair and glasses). I live nearby and come here all the time and have never had a negative experience before. After Monday I will not be returning. It is crazy that there have been bad reviews about this woman for years AND she still continues to abuse customers (seems like particularly Black customers based on previous reviews!) In terms of my experience, the bartender immediately was rude to my friends and I. We all have or currently work in the service industry and always tip and are incredibly respectful to others who are in the industry. After she proceeded to yell at us, she demanded that we tip her (while we still had tabs open) and then kicked us out almost immediately. She made me cry on a night that was meant to be celebratory after we treated her from the beginning with respect. This is an unacceptable experience and we will be telling everyone that we know that this place allows its staff to be hostile and honestly emotionally abusive to its customers

Yelp
Eric!! What?? He made the best Cosmo ive ever had. Shout out to Drew, and Jannie! I had 5 days in Brooklyn to see my son. We had to stop at 3 Diamond Door at the end of every nigt. It was so special!!! If i could give 10 stars i would!!!

Tejas S.

Yelp
The Three Diamond Door is not nice. The bartenders were disinterested in serving, and it smelled like body odor inside. Was definitely not a fan. If I ever were to make a return to here, it would have to be solely for the photo booth I missed this time.

Ana Isabel C.

Yelp
One of the security employees pushed me out of the bar when I wasn't being physical or argumentative. I asked for him to wait for my friends so I wouldn't leave the bar alone and he responded by shoving me repeatedly. I told him i was not protesting but he wouldn't stop shoving me until I was I was out of the bar. This type of behavior is unacceptable toward anyone. When i confronted the employees about their behavior, they told me i was thinking with feelings and not logic. I was at the bar to have fun with my friends and my night ended by being manhandled. I cant believe i was treated this way and felt absolutely unsafe. I don't recommend this bar to anyone and will not be going back.

Yelp
Three Diamond door is a fun vibe. It's a good space, in a good location, with good people. But the other night I felt so disrespected that I will not be going back. I get that bars get busy and it's hard to keep track of who gets to the bar first... but when the bartender is taking orders from group after group at the same spot right next to where my friend and I were waiting for drinks for a bit... it feels a little deliberate and disrespectful. Even if it was an accident, this doesn't happen at other bars in the area.

Yelp
Awesome space. Friendly people. Great service. I had a great time. My friends and I felt welcome. Lots of fireball shots.

Yelp
One of the most uncomfortable and horrible experiences I have ever had at a bar. Came in last night on 5/23/22 and had an incredibly rude bartender. A women with brown hair, glasses, and tattoos. This bartender verbally attacked us and then tried to pressure us into tipping her after the fact. As a local Bushwick bartender myself I always tip bartenders over 20%, but after she kept yelling at us for no reason It did not feel right tipping her. I am truly disappointed that this is accepted by the management. I live on Troutman St right around the corner from the bar and have come to this spot many times over the years with no issues. After last night I will not be coming back and will be informing not only my friends, but also the music community to not support this establishment.

Yelp
I live around the corner and am a frequent patron of three diamond door. Tonight on 5/23/22 my friends and I came in (to a mostly empty bar) to celebrate a graduation and were immediately greeted by a woman bartender with brown hair and glasses who obviously didn't want to be there. Fine! Service work is hard and can be terrible no biggy. We bought our drinks and went to sit out back after a less than friendly interaction. We spilled a drink (the draft margarita) and my friend went back to the bar and ordered a new one while asking if there was any policy for giving new drinks if they were spilled (he was fully prepared to pay) and she immediately angrily told him no and then yelled at my friend that we better tip her or we'll never be allowed back. We had tabs open and there was never any intention of us leaving without tipping. After that interaction we assured her we'd be tipping but would be leaving after finishing our drinks. She then came into the backyard while we were finishing and told us to leave asap. I'd like to preface this by saying I've never in my life left somewhere without leaving a tip but after returning to close our tabs the bartender continued to yell at us for being there and asking the question about the spilled drink while we calmly explained that we were asking and never intended not to tip or pay. She also charged my friend $17 for an $11 dollar well drink. I chose not to leave her a tip after the most unpleasant experience I've ever had at one of my favorite bars. We were told our names were added to a list to never come back because we chose not to tip. She was clearly in a terrible mood and took it out on us, who were there to celebrate our best friends graduation from grad school on a quiet. Monday night. I'll be telling all of my friends in bushwick to never come back to this establishment. I'm in awe that I had such a hostile experience there. -IM NOW SEEING REVIEWS FROM PEOPLE HAVING EXPERIENCES WITH THIS WOMAN THAT SEEM RACIALLY MOTIVATED... three diamond door your management needs to step up and make a change with this employee-

Yelp
Ugh. I can't even Begin to overstate how good the gazpacho is I get takeout by the pint pretty much every day now I'm just obsessed with it now. I used to go here before covid as well and it was pretty normal but honestly this whole to go has really got it going good
google avatar

Zakiya S.

Yelp
I had a racist experience at this bar. The bartender refused to serve me and ignored me. After I asked for service she called me a bitch, told me to leave, and never come back. As I was leaving the bar she continued to yell at me and stuck the middle finger at me. My friend and I were the only people of color at the bar. A woman of color outside informed me that she too had experienced the same thing at this bar.

Yelp
Three Diamond door is easily one of the best bars in Bushwick. It has a great nautical décor on the inside. I especially love the ship oil paintings. And I am always a big fan of the vintage, small town feel. Plenty of seating at the window, in booths and even a large booth for a group of friends. Loved their "outside of box" design thinking. They used the old cigarette dispenser for the tap water. And on the best parts of the bar is the patio. The patio is very spacious and is surrounded in seating. There is always pups running around the place in happiness. I went this week and they recently opened the back bar. The back bar really took me back to the Northwest. There was tons of nineties music blasting from Belly's "Feed the Tree" to Rage Against Machine "Killing in the Name". I loved the gigantic copper chandelier and the smell of polished wood in the air. The new bathrooms were a little tricky to lock but it's nice they expanded the facilities too. More people always mean more runs to the restroom.

Yelp
On Thursday I came with another group of friends around this area and Friday I came again, what's a popular place, lol. After dinner, we took a walk for digesting and one of friend suggested this bar. I really like it because they have a back bar and backyard. The place is so awesome and drinks aren't expensive. We drank, talked, laughed and had a great time in photo booth.

Yelp
Best Gazpacho in Brooklyn. 10/10. I stopped in here with my friend on the way to a gallery. Drinks were cheap and I was so pleasantly surprised by the gazpacho! My friend had the hot dog, not as good.
google avatar

Danielle B.

Yelp
The bar was okay. Nothing really stood out. I attended with a group mid-dayso it wasn't too busy. The bartender was a little snappy so I just took my drink and went outside to their back patio space. Thank God it was nice and sunny that day.
google avatar

Ling J.

Yelp
Went with a few friends - definitely had a great time. I love how this place has different sections so you have room to move. Plus they have like 5 bathrooms so the wait to go is never long. The night I went the music was alright & they had a $6 beer+shot special. Will definitely be back!

Digest M.

Yelp
I am from Bilbao, Spain and my mother would make gazpacho every Sunday night when we were growing up (authentic Iberian style). Some of my fondest memories are centered around those meals in my home country, accompanied by a cool dry breeze on our balcony overlooking the sea, which was spotted with flickering lights of other coastal villages, fishing boats, and cities. Since moving to the Bronx 11 years ago, I hadn't even considered the fact that any gazpacho could come close to bringing me back to those days, and evoking those ancient emotions. I suppose this is what I'm trying to articulate: the gazpacho at Three Diamond Door is far above average, and for me, it's very special. I hope customers can experience a fraction of what I did while enjoying it, though I understand if they do not.
google avatar

Gavriel C.

Yelp
Solid bar since the day it opened. Diverse crowd. Loud music. Back bar. Outdoor space till 10. Beyond friendly door staff. To the people bitching about the bartenders in here Maybe if you realized that a bartender is a bartender and not your fucking mom and tried ordering your drink like an adult ( say please, say thank you and leave a GOOD tip ya fucking jerk) you'd have an awesome time like all the other adults! 3 diamond rules
google avatar

FakeFoodBabyNY C.

Yelp
#Great place to drink and watch people through the front window. I played the same game I used to play at #Hi Noodle, where you and a friend get one minute to get dibs on a person that walks by for imaginary sex. There's a lot of rules that are made up on the spot and a lot of hilarious #outcomes. The last time, the #bouncer killed the bee that was on the window.
google avatar

Marina S.

Yelp
I like this place. I've come both late on a Saturday night and on a random Tuesday, and the atmospheres were completely different. Want a laid-back dive bar, complete with an outdoor patio? Perfect, come during the week. Want a thumping back room, with sweaty drunk millennials and plenty of dancing? Perfect, come during the weekend. It's always a good time. Tons of seating, cool vintage decor, big beer menu, reasonably priced drinks (with a $10 credit card minimum). Bartenders are pretty friendly and fast. They also let you bring in outside food, which is awesome - I came with an entire birthday cake once and lit it on fire, and no one batted an eye. Plus, it's easy to find! There are three diamonds. In their front door. I have a feeling this is going to become the bar I end up at- intentionally or not- when I'm out in Bushwick.
google avatar

Jess A.

Yelp
I want to tell you it's shitty so you won't come! I've been going here seven or eight years love this spot. I do wish they were still dog friendly
google avatar

N W.

Yelp
Been coming for a while. Always been good service. Even when the young 20-somethings are crowding the space. Affordable drinks. Great outside space. Even better since they added the back space a while ago. Solid neighborhood hang.
google avatar

William K.

Yelp
Great Space, Great Staff, Great prices, just a great bar. This is just another reason to come to Bushwick. If you have not made the trip out here yet Three Diamond Door is one of the reasons to make the trek. This is a place that makes me proud to call it my neighborhood bar, and I am a bartender so I rarely go to places I either don't work or know someone who is working but this place never fails. The giant back room with comfy over sized booths, the large outdoor enclosed patio with wooden benches and the bar that runs the length of the space makes Three Diamond door perfect. This is a call to all who hasn't been and to all the people trying to open fancy themed, weird, pretentious spots. Just open a bar... a space you would want to hang out in not one that you think people want. Good people, good space, good prices. Those are the three diamonds.
google avatar

Aisha M.

Yelp
The backyard in the summer time is always a good time. The drinks are ok but that is not why you should come here! An afternoon with some friends, a good book and a decent beer is what I enjoyed most about this place. This is the kind of place where you always feel welcome and strangers still talk to each other.
google avatar

Dana Z.

Yelp
Came here while visiting my cousin who is a regular. Nice neighborhood bar. Good beers on tap. The best was the bouncer who, after we were standing a while, came and brought us chairs he found in other places in the bar. I never had a bouncer do that.... ever.... Nice people they have working here.
google avatar

Alex G.

Yelp
There's simple rule to being a patron: know what you're looking for and where to find it. You don't go to American Eagle looking for strap-ons just like you don't go to a taqueria looking for authentic pho. This works the same with bars. If you want an overpriced cocktail with manufactured Gilded Age ambience, go to Death+Co. If you want to get drunk on High Life and hangout with irreverent maniacs, go to 3D. (As a side note - the bartenders are only surly if you're a mannerless ass pimple. Show some respect and it will be reciprocated.)
google avatar

Kat B.

Yelp
In January I got near blacked out at Three Diamond Door, lost my keys so I was locked out of my apartment, and had to spend the night at the neighbor's place who graciously let me crash. He and I have been dating for 9 months now. Highly recommend Three Diamond Door.

Yelp
This has been the worst bar I've been in years. The way the bartenders treated was disrespectful and straight offensive. Throughout the night I was yelled by a specific emo-style bartender(woman). She was rude several times and had a shitty attitude. When the time to pay came, I asked for my tab to be closed. Of course I was not going to tip someone so disrespectful. Tips are earned, Bartenders/Waiters are not entitled to it. I wrote 0 on the tip section however I holded the bill waiting for a friend I had just met there before giving it back to the bartender. She called me an asshole for not giving her the bill straight away even though I politely told her 3 times I wasn't done with it. Eventually I gave her the bill just get called an asshole again but this time by other bartenders too. She even did a whole tantrum but throwing my half full beer just because I guess she can't control her emotions like a kid. The bouncer came and they forced me out because it looks like I was wrong in not tipping the most offensive service I've had in my life. And no, I didn't swear back or insulted them in any way, because there wasn't any point in doing so and just makes things worse. Especially with a bouncer right behind you. I guess thats what happens when people think tipping is entitled, they do a shitty job because they expect me to still give them my money. My new friend and I had planned to tip in CASH to other bartender(a tall guy, short hair with beard if I recall correctly) who was nice at first but after the tantrum of the female Bartender, he decided to side with her straight, call me an asshole too and told me to get the F out of the bar without letting me explain or say anything. Truly an awful bar. Edit: To further explain who this bartender was, she is a white woman with black semi long straight hair. Average height. The kind to use dark make up. If you ever come to this bar, go to the side where isn't working and avoid asking her anything, you'll regret it.

Yelp
I really liked this bar. First of all, it was cheap. They had Modelo on tap for $4 during happy hour. The bartender was attentive and friendly, though not big on small talk, which was perf because I hate small talk. There was a group of people having a dog birthday party, which I found very strange, but it's nice that dogs were allowed inside. It was a bit chilly (at least for a Texas girl) outside, but they looked to have a really great patio. They don't serve food, but allow you to bring it in. Overall, if I ever find myself in the area again, I'll probably find myself back at this bar. Oh, I should note: I was really psyched about the prosecco on tap, and I specifically asked if there was no issue of it getting flat. The bartender said no and equated it to beer not getting flat which kind of makes sense. Anywho, the prosecco was flat. Not a big deal, but I wouldn't order it again.

Jeff B.

Yelp
The frozen margs are so good here for 12 bucks you get the creamiest marg that's not to string or sweet. The bartender I had was super nice and the outdoor seating is perfect to enjoy before it gets to cold!!

Catherine A.

Yelp
Just left this bar after spending a nice hour there with my friends and boyfriend. My boyfriend and I went to pay our group's tab and were waiting by the bar. The bartender with the black hair saw me waving at her and turned around (fine, she's busy and will get to us, I thought). Then, after whispering to another bartender, she comes towards us very fast and yells at us for no reason! Then she walks away and the other bartender comes to ask us (much more nicely) what we need. An otherwise nice experienced ruined on the way out. I just don't understand how you can treat customers like this. Based on other reviews it seems like there is a pattern here-- too bad we had to experience it too. People come to bars to relax and enjoy after a long day or week at work, not to be yelled at for no reason.
google avatar

Chantal S.

Yelp
I've been going to 3DD since they opened. They have the best crew of bartenders and staff. Always have a great time the music and jukebox are always up my ally. The backyard is a little oasis in the middle of Bushwick. Prosecco on tap why yes please. All my love to the staff and owners you guys are the best and can't wait to hang when you guys reopen!

Jamez Z.

Yelp
So i been here with my daughter Isabella who lives down the street great service, people and had a great time. Looking forward to my next trip to NYC to see Bella and drink some cocktails at the 3D!!!!! This place is a must check it out.
google avatar

Conlan O.

Yelp
They have adult beverages and unless it's a weekend, mostly adults. What more could you ask for in bushwick.
google avatar

Janie D.

Yelp
One of the best bars in this area seating-wise. It's so spacious and the vintage decor is beautiful. I find this to be the perfect bar to hang and talk all night with your friends-they play mostly punk and 80's and the volume level allows for conversation. Very relaxed atmosphere and the perfect combo of divey and stylish. The blonde bartender was super cold to me, but otherwise nice service. The beer and shot specials are great. I had some tasty tequila cocktails as well. If you're even slightly attractive, hipster dudes will buy all your drinks for you. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Hi, I'm a long time "yelper", and I'm also from the area, and I've never had to leave a review like this. We went to this bar today, and the way we were treated by this bartender was the worst. I've never had to review a business before but this was Truly a bad experience. We didn't leave a tip a waitress who was white with straight hair and bangs because she was being very very rude to us and that proceed to her calling the bouncer who made us leave unrightfully and forcefully, while not listening to what happens to us. I really hope someone gets back to us about this occurrence and follow up on this matter beside it was extremely embarrassing for us and uncomfortable. Update: You can replace waitress with bartender, my mistake for the confusion. A tip is not a entitled, but rather earned. After the bad encounter with this bartender whom I was describing to you, my friends turned to another bartender who they tipped due to good service ( even if it was just not being bluntly rude to their face). It was a birthday weekend and our night was ruined by this bartender, it seems like the owner doesn't really care about the customers experience so you have nice day as well Mike.

Yelp
Love this place and it's atmosphere. Cheap drinks, bartender was cool and really nice. They have cozy booths for seating and and outdoor patio.
google avatar

Yelp
Drag show at the back bar area was dope. Also some of the bartenders were cool, but one of them lost my friend's ID and Cc, and was super rude about demanding that he feel responsible for the loss when it was definitely the bar's fault

Devin L.

Yelp
I used to like this place, but now I FUCKING LOVE IT! Sam Adams winter peppermint ale...ON DRAFT?! Hoody hoo!!! Check out the secret "window" in the hall. You people make me sick. I love you!

Yelp
In love with this bar Booths, backyard, beer/shot combos OK let's make out

Yelp
Really liked this little neighbourhood bar. The bar lady was really friendly which right off the bat was a nice intro. Inside, there's a long bar that takes up pretty much the whole length of it which also gives it a nice ambience. They seem to have a really well stocked bar and a good range of craft beer. They don't have food but you can order food from outside and eat it in there which is sweet. The back is where it really shines though - literally and figuratively! They've got a lovely outside space with really nice built in benches / furniture with tables in front. That's a terrible description but it lends itself to a really chilled comfortable experience outside. There are also three lovely big trees that give the place an even more peaceful vibe. There were lots of people with dogs there too which speaks to the vibe of the place! Reminded me a lot of the Lucky Dog in Williamsburg - dunno if they're of any relation?
