Food is pretty solid for the most part, but can be too heavy and too salty. The service is decent, and the ambiance is decent as well. Their desserts, and dishes like their Chicken and Waffles are the best items in my opinion. The actual food entrees are just decent. The Jerk Brisket Tacos are huge, but taste wise wasn't as good as I expected them to be. I recommend coming here and trying this spot out at least once though.

Google
A wonderful hole in the wall to visit. I found this place on TikTok and decided to give it a try. I ordered the Cajun Crab Fries and my daughter got the pasta. Food was delicious! Meanwhile, the Oreo cheesecake was amazing!!! Would definitely come back! My reason for four stars and not five is due to the fact I did come across a few shells in my crab cake. Overall, a great experience!!

Google
One of my friends told me about this place and it definitely was a Hit!!!! The ambience, decor, and energy was so warm and inviting very elegant and relaxed. Even their bathroom was detailed! The staff was very friendly and helpful to everyone that walked through the door. The colors, lights, pictures, music, and smell of the food literally was like being home with your family and hosting a function for a special occasion! I order chicken breast and fries but I wanted wings they were out. I plan on returning! Their night menu is limited in selection. Food was ready in 8 mins maybe 10 not to long. Food very tasty and prices were reasonable. They also have a kiosk to place your order. Grateful for my friend putting me on to this spot!!!!!

Google
The food is so bomb! I ordered the Honey Butter Fried Chicken Platter with a side of Yams and Alfredo pasta. In addition to the Snickerdoodle Banana Pudding for dessert. Everything was extremely flavorful and paired really well together. My order was ready in less than 5 minutes and the pickup process was super smooth. Parking is free and plentiful, which is a plus. The prices for the food are a bit high, but I was already well aware of this before coming here. Overall, I will definitely be returning.

Google
T E R R I B L E. Just no, y’all should be ashamed… do better. They were out of stock of almost all drinks and other items, they were completely out of ALL deserts. To touch on my food though, Mac & Cheese wasn’t seasoned enough. The crab dip was what saved the meal but even that was off. The garlic bread was the worst of my meal, how do you mess up GARLIC BREAD???? The other meal was a fish platter with fries and yams. The yams looked like a mound of dirt, it was really sweet and they weren’t cooked soft enough. The fries were spat out immediately and the fish is a joke. Overall I wouldn’t eat here, I’d be willing to go back if their desserts we’re in stock but no, this was very disappointing.

Google
We saw this restaurant on YouTube and looked it up. Let me tell, this restaurant is slamming. I had Henny Mumbo fried chicken with fries. I really enjoyed my meal. The place is so colorful and relaxing. The staff was friendly with fast service. The bathroom was pretty and colorful like the restaurant and clean with a pleasant smell. I will definitely come back great food. Definitely a must try!

Google
This place is absolutely amazing!! From the location to the staff... And is truly for the weird😍 but the food is great!! Their menu is rather petite and does not include these items but they are available upon request.. The young men that run the location are very helpful and super friendly as well as professional.. They run a very welcoming establishment!! But be ready to drop a little change on whatever you order but believe me it's worth it!! The sauce alone will have you licking your fingers!!

Google
I have been eyeing this place for a while and my friend and I loved the food here. Highly recommend bringing the food home and reheat it as it can get soggy if you wait to eat it. We ordered the Henny Mumbo fried chicken and crab mac tacos. The fried chicken was just tenders and the meat was really dry. The Henny and Mumbo sauce were a great addition to add some extra flavor. The tacos are a must order. They stuff each taco with plenty of fresh crab meat and mac n cheese. I put the taco in the toaster oven when I got home and the extra cheese on the taco shell was extra crispy. Their house made cheese dipping sauce was so rich and salty. Perfect combo when dipping your taco and even your wings in it. They currently have you order via Uber eats and set location to pick up. When you arrive check in inside and wait outside for your food to arrive. Food came out on time and everything was neatly packaged. Price wise its a bit high, but for some of the dishes like the taco portion wise its perfect. I'll definitely be back ordering more items from their speciality menu.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting their new location and let me tell you now that this is a cashless establishment. It seems that the only way to place an order is online via toast tab. Now on to the food: I ordered the sweet jerk salmon platter with Mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts, while my friend ordered the honey butter chicken wings with a side of their buss down fries. The salmon was my favorite of the night and it was just as flavorful as it looked; a 9/10 although it could've been a 10/10 if not for the center being VERY undercooked. My once favorite Brussels sprouts although tasty were way too oily in my opinion a 6/10 and the Mac and cheese needed more seasoning 4.5/10 (although it was very cheesy). I sampled some of my friends food and the honey butter wings only mildly tasted of honey butter (5/10) and the fries (5/10) were average to me (as I could barely taste the bbq ranch flavor that they were supposed to have).

Yelp
This place is beyond amazing! I have visited several times and traveled over 40minutes just for this food, specifically the tacos! They have the best taco Tuesday, I mean the BEST! I highly reccomned you sample each one they offer; the crab & Mac, jerk chicken & Mac and brisket Mac are my faves. I also love the atmosphere here its a whole vibe. I think the Kool Aid was little to overpriced for my liking so I don't usually opt for the drinks there. I can say they have been busy at every location they open and the support is amazing. The owner seems friendly and personable which probably helps the business really survive and thrive. There is a second location they opened that specialized in desserts but I haven't given them a try just yet. If they desserts are anything like the food I'm going to have a serious addition! The portions are sooo perfect there is no way you will not be pleased with any order you place they do not skimp on the food they go above and beyond expectations. Location The location is not the safest so uhhh..... lock ya doors (Nicki voice), parking is plenty since they are in a shopping center. You will have no problem finding a spot at all I usually can grab one in the front with no problem. Vibe This is very cute for a date, solo date and even to go option. I usually order my food on the way and take it home to enjoy it. I mean I usually have to taste some before I pull off. There's always some music toads to the vibe.

Yelp
Hey beautiful, I just came from this fabulous restaurant named The Uncaged Chefs black owned establishment, Florida avenue & 3rd, NW. Let me tell you this place is fantastic. The food was delicious but let me tell you when you go into the restaurant. It's so magical. The decor is so charming. It's so mystical. It's like a unicorn kind of urban social culture vibe. We have to go there. The Uncaged Chefs https://theuncagedchefs.com/

Yelp
If you're from the DMV, this is probably a spot you've heard about by a multitude of people. I had no issue with customer service here. It wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. It was just average customer service. I have given the place a couple tries and I just wasn't impressed with the food. The main sauce that's used in a lot of their dishes, just taste like a Cajun chick-fil-a sauce. It's great if you like that taste, but I personally feel like you can only eat so much of their sauce and their dishes are covered it in. I also tried one of their deserts, which I believe was some strawberry shortcake cheesecake. The cheesecake itself was good, but all the strawberry toppings on it tasted too artificial, which really took away from its potential to be a great desert.

Yelp
Everything in this place is a vibe! The food is amazing and the atmosphere is just DOPE! The food WAS SOOO GOOD! I cannot begin to put it into words!! Like seriously just try everything it's all made with love! You can taste the live in the food! It's unreal! Damn I love this place! Thanks y'all!! ((I'm grabbing a koolaid before I leave too... yes, yes i am doing this review in the store bc THIS PLACE IS PRESSURE!))

Yelp
Okay wait a minute now. Uncaged Chefs did something with this uncared sauce of theirs. It's sweet (like Chic Fil A sauce sweet) with a zesty kick. And it's divine on top of these crab egg rolls. They did not skimp on the crab or the flavor. I may or may not have high blood pressure with the amount of sodium I consumed. But it was worth it.

Yelp
I've seen this place on IG a bunch of times so maybe I had my expectations a little higher than most. It was mid at best. Nothing too crazy. The salmon could have been better and the regular Mac. The lobster Mac was good and the Brussels. Maybe next time I'll try one of the Alfredo dishes, I think maybe that's what they're known for. Willing to give them another try.

Yelp
I am a fan of the food at The Uncaged Chefs, what brought me here was their Instagram page. Their food is rich and flavorful (a bit salty but I don't mind it). I have tried the sweet jerk lamb chops, strawberry shortcake cinnamon with fried chicken and the snickerdoodle banana pudding. The sweet jerk lamb chops are a must if you are a lamb lover like myself, you get three lamb chops and it doesn't come with aside. The lamb is so good you may as well go ahead and just order two because the one order is only going to make you mad. The strawberry shortcake cinnamon with fried chicken is the bomb, perfect if you are craving something sweet and salty and want to switch up from the traditional chicken and waffle. The snickerdoodle banana pudding was okay (too much pudding not enough whipped cream), I would like to try some other desserts here. The reason I didn't give this restaurant a 5-star is because of the horrible service model to order your food. You are not allowed to place an order over the phone or online, which is strange considering many other restaurants have adjusted their service model due to the pandemic. The Uncaged Chefs should really consider hiring a consultant team to help them with their system. There have been a few times it was too cold outside to wait in the long line and I left. So basically you have to wait in a long line place your order, and wait in your car until they text you that your order is ready. The last time I was there the cashier captured the wrong number because of course, you have to wear a mask inside she couldn't really hear me when I said my number, so of course, I never got a text saying my food was ready. I think an online ordering system would prevent some of these mishaps, I am sure I am not the only person that has experienced this. If you can order through the uber eats app I highly suggest doing so, it is a bit of an up charge but it is worth it because you don't have to wait in a long line in the cold during a pandemic and waste so much time trying to order. Again the food here is amazing but the experience of ordering your food needs improvement.

Yelp
I'm a HUGE supporter of minority owned businesses however I hold them accountable just like I hold their counterparts. I give no breaks when it comes to my reviews. I am pleased to report that Uncaged Chefs have truly earned my 4 stars. My first visit was during the pandemic and they handled it masterfully. They made sure your food was ready fast and getting it was super safe. On to the food. Normally I like to switch it up, this is not normally.. Lol I cannot get enough of the crabcake crab fries combo.. OMG! If that's all they sold I would be just fine #delishcious!!! Unfortunately the location in Brentwood is no longer there but please show Uncaged Chefs some love in District Heights, they truly deserve it!

Yelp
Saw this place on TikTok and decided to check it out. The decor is dope and so is the ambiance in there were a lot of delicious things to choose from on the menu so naturally I had to get The Hangover which is a delicious amalgamation of some of their most popular dishes. Picture this... Crab cake, grilled salmon, crab fries, Cajun shrimp and crab pasta topped with a fried egg. Crazy right? Absolutely! Delicious? You bet! The crab fries were definitely my favorite. You gotta try them. I'm not even going to try to describe them to you. Just try them. The Cajun pasta was a very close second. Creamy, just the slightest bit spicy and loaded with shrimp and crab. So good! The salmon was ok. I wouldn't order it by itself, but with a dish it worked well. I was not feeling the crab cake. Don't know why but it just didn't taste right to me. At $45, it was a great way to try lots of things on the menu at one time... And it was easily enough food for 3-4 people. I was a little bit confused as to why the restaurant only had one menu though... A small paper printout once you get to the register. I feel like there should be more menus on the high top tables while people are waiting in line. That's less time that customers have to be in the cashier's face; they can just roll up to the register in order.

Yelp
I haven't had a single item from here that isnt good as hell. Now if you are okay with possibly being in a food coma after the ridiculously amazing foodgasim you are definitely going to get after this experience, then go ahead and give this black-owned business a try. Highly recommend you try the Hangover. It easily feeds 3 and it's the best way to sample the best dishes on the menu. The crab cake, the Rasta pasta, the salmon, the Crab fries, the fried chicken!!!! I'm getting hungry thinking about it as I type. My 4 stars are due to two reasons, 1) the food at times has a lot of sodium. You should only eat this on special occasions. 2) ordering online is often hit or miss. I also feel the same about service in general. They need a better line/ordering system Nevertheless, I still love the food here.

Yelp
Excellent customer service! - I placed a ordered online and it was ready within ten minutes. They have an array of choices to pick from and the portions are reasonable for the price. 5 out of 5 would recommend to try it out.

Yelp
I'm not sure if I'm cheap or broke - either way this place is ridiculously expensive. We ordered two meals and spent $70 bucks. Can you think of ANY fast casual place where you will get two meals and spend $70 bucks. Mac and Cheese: Average Yams: Extremely sugary - average to below average Baked Beans: Below Average Fried Ribs: Above Average. Delicious. But again EXTREMELY expensive for THREE ribs. ($30 bucks) Brussel Sprouts: the ONLY veggie on the menu (black people we have to do better) - below average. Dipped in butter. Fried Chicken Thighs: Above Average. Delicious. But, very expensive for what it is (CHICKEN THIGHS) I would recommend this place to a tourist. I will only go back if I hit the lottery. There are much better soul food places that have better price points. I'm not sure what's up with this place. I feel like my TAKEOUT meal should have come with real silverware and a free 20 ounce. Overall, the food is average and the prices are insane.

Yelp
Get your order in before the food is gone (!); THEY ARE . These folks are so popular that you must order early at their website. Pick it up - small businesses lose money with the big delivery services and the last time i checked, Uncaged Chefs stopped participating. Check the website to see what he's cooking today. Be prepared to lay down for a great nap!

Yelp
One thing about UncagedChefs, no matter the location, the quality of the food and the fun vibes you get as soon as you walk in are always consistently on point. This location is bringing in the holidays with red ambiance lighting and snow decor from the ceiling and on the tables, which is a perfect way to maintain their original design with their walls covered in artwork. Most recently I ordered the All Smoke (two egg rolls, crab dip, and jerk shrimp), 2 pc chicken (boneless thigh), mumbo sauce and Snickerdoole banana pudding. The egg rolls are heavy - packed with tasty lump crab meat. The jerk shrimp has plenty of heat. I would have preferred the crab dip to be on the side instead of on top of the egg rolls because I prefer my egg rolls to be crispy. If there was separation I would be better able to tell how seasoned the dip was, but it was ok. The chicken *chefs kiss*, boneless chicken thighs fried just right, full of flavor. The Mumbo Sauce is perfect with it. I will suggest a using that as the dipping sauce for the egg roll as well. The Snickerdoole banana pudding wasn't very photoready for posting here but it was very good. There weren't any banana pieces but plenty of wafers. The banana flavor came from the pudding mix itself. There was just enough cinnamon and vanilla to tie all the flavors together. I know that I can always count on the team here to bring the flavor. I'll keep following their social media to see the new items they bring to the table.

Yelp
There is something for everyone at the Uncaged Chefs. My favorite dishes include the Fried Chicken and French Toast Waffle. This is a deep fried chicken breast atop a waffle that has been dipped and grilled just like french toast! It tastes just like French Toast. The dish is drizzled with a Henny glaze. Just biting the waffle made me smile. The drizzle is enough, no syrup is required. I also enjoyed the Cherry Pop Rocks Fried Chicken Wings. Now, these are so fun to eat. Each order of wings comes with a packet of cherry pop rocks and instructions. You must sprinkle the pop rocks on each wing before biting into it. As you can see, having dinner with The Uncaged Chefs will provide a memorable dining experience. As their sign states, "This must be the place."

Yelp
2nd time here and I haven't been disappointed yet! When I first seen Chef Damian and team on Instagram, I knew I had to go. Then I seen him post the Oatmeal Creampie Cheesecake ‍ I'm a sucker for sweets and mumbo sauce, so today was a match made in heaven! The crispy fried chicken, crispy fries, topped with a henny mumbo sauce that was sweet, tangy, and everything in between was calling my name for a couple days.....THEN......i scrolled on Instagram and seen it......‍ The Oatmeal Creampie Cheesecake....‍.....LAWD let me tell you something....if it was 5 things that God dropped from heaven, then that cheesecake was surely ONE of them!! Lol I love super sweet stuff, but this cheesecake was alot more balanced than I expected. I thought I was going to go into a diabetic coma by simply looking at the photos. To my surprise, it was so well balanced that Little Debbie told me to get another one (in my DJ Khaled voice). Overall, 5/5. Will be returning soon without a doubt. Love what these young black chefs are doing and creating. And I have no problem driving 45 minutes to see what culinary specialties that this team creates!

Yelp
I had been hearing about this place fa-eva and decided to finally give it a whirl as I was scrolling down my Postmates options. They had sent me a coupon for 70% off so I said let's try this place. I noticed that everything was A LOT more expensive on the app than if I went into the store but laziness has a price...and I had this coupon, so leggo. Here's how it went- Brussels- not too bad. Was too much of whatever sauce they put on everything on it but they were edible. Seafood salad- had a weird taste to it, then I noticed that it was "jerk" seafood salad. So that's my fault for not reading. The flavor wasn't jerk but I couldn't put my finger on what it tasted like. Crab dip- nothing special but I see you Uncaged chefs. The bread is just a hamburger bun toasted and cut up into fours. Crab and shrimp alfredo- THE BIGGEST DISSAPOINMENT. I saw so many reviews that this was soooo good. These must also be people that go to Red Lobster for special dinners. The shrimp were good, the crabcake was pure trash. For $43 online just for this one dish I would expect some lump crabmeat. This crabcake was pure sadness. The cheese and noodles tasted really off. The flavor just wasn't edible. My husband ate the shrimp and the crabcake and we threw the rest away.

Yelp
I was so excited to drive from Baltimore to visit this establishment and support black own businesses. This menu was very limited and overpriced. My food came out cold and extremely salty. Although I love the art work and vibe inside of the restaurant. I am not sure what was going on with the food and kitchen staff. I am not sure if I am willing to make such a long drive to be disappointed again.

Yelp
Ordered takeout here. Had to order in store. Food did not take long to be prepared. All portions were large, easily could be split between two people. Had the henny mumbo fried chicken. Came with two large chicken thighs. Chicken was still crispy although it was covered in sauce. Liked the sauce and had a cup of sauce on the side. Also had crab cake fries. The crab dip+crab cake was a good combination. The crab cake itself had a bit more filler than I like. For dessert, had snickerdoodle banana putting. Wasn't too sweet. Had a snickerdoodle cookie on top and a vanilla waffle cookie inside. Really enjoyed it

The ambiance was great, very chill vibe. The food was okay, the pasta was very cheesy and not that seasoned.

Yelp
I'm so glad i came across this place! The decor of the eating area was excellent and shined of black excellence. The food was amazing! If you could literally put a combination of P.G county and D.C into food items, everything on the menu reflects exactly this! We got the Henny Fried Chicken with mumbo fries and crab tacos. When i took a bite into the chicken and mumbo fries, it brought my back to my childhood going to the mall and getting some fries, chicken, and mumbo sauce with my grandma. But, the crab taco was fantastically good with all real crab and the delicious old bay sauce that brought my taste buds to the future. I can't wait to try more items on the menu! The only downside was the trying to order food. I had to repeat myself to the cashier four times, because either the music was too loud to hear my order or they werent focus on what i was asking for... but other then that very solid place.

Yelp
This food Messed My Stomach Up. ..this uncaged chef place food is garbage. This is nothing but some experimental bunch of mush up mess. 4 shrimp and a breaded crab cake that had hardly any meat. The ppl who like this place and give them the high ratings must of grew up eating ketchup sandwiches and only had noodles and poptarts as a child, no home cooked meals ever. I said what I mean and I'm not taking it back. Don't care if you know the chef or ppl who like the food. This is the type of food you eat when you have no food or just throw something together. They should be closed. Its lower than a fried bologna sandwich in the pan with grease like back in the day. T.R.A.S.H!

Yelp
This is my fourth time patronizing this business. The first three times the food just wasn't good, so I stopped going. Yesterday, I was going to try their trap tacos, but the mixed reviews deterred me. Today, I decided to go ahead and give Uncaged Chef another try. I ordered the crab dip w/ buttery toast, jerk crab and shrimp pasta, and the all smoke (2 crab egg rolls, crab dip, and jerk shrimp.) The crab dip and buttery toast was absolutely delicious. The downside is it was a little oily and the pieces of toast were small. The jerk crab and shrimp pasta was okay. I didn't like that the crab cake has a lot of filling. There are plenty of restaurants who serve crab cakes made with lump crab meat and no filler for the same price or a couple dollars more. The all smoke was pretty good, just a smidge too salty. Some of the entrees listed online aren't on the menus posted around the restaurant. When asked about this, I was told it's because those entrees are specials. I think that's a bad business strategy. Not everyone looks at menus online, so the owner could be missing out on revenue. I recommend purchasing a chalkboard easel to write daily specials on and post near the entrance. Also, the cashier should work on her customer service skills. My total was around $72. Overall, in my opinion the food wasn't worth the price I paid. I'm not sure if I'll patronize this business again.

Yelp
Word of advice: Eat light you go so you have enough room to indulge in the creative flavors that Uncaged Chefs provide! The portions are more than generous and I have never had anything I didn't absolutely LOVE! Both locations have good food and service! Parking is a different subject though. They have a good process in place to ensure quick takeout, following covid guidelines as I've seen. Soooo about that food.... Some top suggestions include BUT DEFINITELY ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Crab cake with crab fries Salmon with crab fries Henny Mambo chicken The biscuits with the pecans on them.. baybeeee listen!! But again my fellow yelpers ...NOTHING disappoints so order away. Definitely a guilty pleasure, but it's so darn good you quickly forget that guilt lol. Check the photos for yourself.. told ya!!

Yelp
Straight fire!!!!! Here's my order: Sweet Jerk Salmon and Grits Jerk Crab And Shrimp Pasta Kool-Aid Snickerdoodle Banana Pudding Breakdown: 1. Jerk Crab & Shrimp Pasta - Cajun Crab Cake, 5 Jerk Shrimp, Cajun Aioli, Jerk Pasta, Pico de gallo Pasta was tender and the sauce was cheesy and creamy. The crab cake was extremely good. All of the crab was minced down to the same size! It was perfectly rounded, seasoned and thick! Whew! 2. Sweet jerk Salmon & Grits - Blackened Salmon, Cheddar Grits, Turkey Sausage, Cajun Aioli Grits were a little thick but once you mix them in with the aioli it's gives them the perfect balance. A little salt would've been good but if you get a bite of everything, it's pure bliss! Loved the turkey sausage with the grits alone. That would be a fire meal in it's on. Salmon was slightly sweet and meshed well with the grits if you like your grits with sugar type feel, but literally so bomb... my mouth is watering now. 3. The Snickerdoodle Banana Pudding was a straight hit! It had the perfect consistency, with minimal slices of bananas and the cookies were sooo soft for the perfect crumble effect! I was a fan of the wafers but loved them for the presentation! Kool-Aid, nah. Wasn't worth the $3. Taste like watered down red Tampico juice :/ but literally my only major draw back! Will def be returning!

Yelp
Amazing! I follow Uncaged on INSTAGRAM. Every week A new menu item pops up. My family was in town and I decided this would be a good opportunity to take them to a hidden gem! I wish I took a picture of their food but, once they ordered and sat down the food was gone! I would highly recommend! The food was amazing. Seasoned well! I kept it simple with the crab cake and a side of Mac. The Mac was amazing! I can't wait to go again.

Yelp
4.5 stars Would've been 5 stars but the CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS! Sorry guys, it does Be careful of who you put in the front..... But the food is FABULOUS! Don't come here if you tryna be cute or on a diet or something bc this ain't for you! This place is for those who came to EAT, and they ain't playing around I tell ya!!! Seen this place on IG, you know how that is... Spent holidays in DC w fam and this place is nearly around the corner (well not literally lol), but close enough for repeat visits! Everything from top to bottom is amazing, almost 3 days later and I'm still eating this food! For starters, ONLY go to Merlyn(get it DC ppl :-D), Maryland to get CRAB CAKES! Don't go anywhere else in the country and expect your crab cakes to taste like THIS! PERFECTION we sampled jerk shrimp and crab pasta, jerk salmon Alfredo, chicken and waffles and snickerdoodle banana pudding The pasta was out of sight! I'm eating the chicken and waffles as I am writing this, and although it was almost 3 days ago, it crisped up nicely in the oven and didn't miss a beat with the fluffiness of that waffle! And the chicken was perfectly seasoned and juicy too! This is the perfect pig out meal before the "resolutions" start! Might as well take it out with a bang!

Yelp
I ordered the Granddaddy Surf Cheese Steak and it is burnt in the middle. Im know sure if its overcooked cheese or what but it isn't appetizing at all.

Yelp
This place was a 10/10. It's a shame they closed it down and moved. They had a strong following and I wish they would bring back their food from there to their new location.

Yelp

Yelp
After hearing people talk about this place so much I decided to try it for myself. I got the jerk shrimp and crab pasta with a side of brussel sprouts for myself, the henny mumbo chicken and fries and the oreo cheesecake for my husband and the fried whiting meal (comes with mac&cheese and meatless braised greens) for my dad. The shrimp and crab pasta was just ok. The pasta just tasted like spicy mac&cheese with a couple pieces of jerk shrimp and a crab cake on top. I don't know what I was expecting but not that. It definitely wasn't worth the $30 it cost. The brussel sprouts were just ok. My husband wasn't impressed by the chicken but I thought it was pretty good. It was the best thing actually. The fries were soaked in the henny mumbo sauce so they were already soggy after my short ride home. The presentation of the cheesecake was very messy. My husband thought it flipped over in the car...lol. They just throw the ingredients together in the container but it tasted pretty good. My dad liked his whiting but I thought it tasted a bit too fishy like the fish used wasn't fresh. It was heavily breaded with some kind of sauce on it. The mac&cheese was mediocre but those greens were DELICIOUS! All in all, I doubt I'll go again. It's pricey but the quality and taste don't match the price tag.

Yelp
Oh my lord I wish I never found this place. They are going to be responsible for me having to replace my wardrobe when my waist expands. Is 10 stars a thing? Cuz they need ten stars. No...wait...none of you are reading this. If you all find out how good it is I may never be able to get that chicken and French toast again. I done messed up A-aron.

Yelp
This was my very first time here and I'm so happy I found this spot! The food was absolutely delicious. So good to the point I ate before I left the parking lot . I got the Whiting with two sides, I chose Mac and Cheese and Collard greens. The platter came with 3 pieces of fish and a nice helping of each side. The fish was perfectly seasoned and fried. There was a sauce drizzled over each piece that added a nice flavor to the fish. The Mac and cheese was flavorful, not just noodles and cheese like most soul food spots. The greens were slightly sweet but in a good way. I am always willing to drive for good food and this is definitely with the drive from Bmore, so I will be back again

Yelp
They say God knows the desires of your heart. Well, He knew that I came to The Uncaged Chefs with a sweet tooth. I had every intention on buying a cheesecake and lo, and behold, one of the employees (who was apparently a Cheesecake Angel) asked me if I would like to try a new, unreleased, unnamed, cheesecake. Well, I did, and it was amazing. It had a hint of lemon flavor and was topped with golden Oreos and some sort of lemon cake. I enjoyed every ounce and the portion was so big that I had to eat it in two servings. I don't know what they will ultimately call this cheesecake, but if you see the one with the golden Oreos, definitely get it! As for a free one, your results my vary. As for the rest of the food, it's all stellar. Uncaged does a lot as far as toppings and seasonings and they are one of the few places that does "a lot" well. I definitely recommend the jerk shrimp and crab pasta. It's pricey, but the portion is enough for two servings. I've also tried the sweet jerk lamb over grits. The lamb is super tender. Both are 5 star dishes. I came for a meal and left with a testimony. Make your way to Uncaged. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Jerk Salmon Alfredo. It was ok. I expected a bigger piece of Salmon for $34. I'll try something different next time.

Yelp
Uncaged chefs never disappoints from the "hangover" to the salmon pasta or the crab fries with crab cake or salmon crab fries... just amazing! Black owned, the new location is easy to find, with ample parking. The inside is also a vibe as well! Staff is usually pretty chill and friendly. My boyfriend and I literally will drive an 1 hour + from Baltimore to try their food! Due to Covid, there's no indoor dining, masks are required in the building and all orders are ordered "to go".

Yelp
This spot is definitely a sleeper. Despite COVID 19 they are running things extremely effectively. There is no dine in service as one would expect (for safety reasons). However the staff is diligently working it out. They monitor the number of people who are inside to order and form a cue right outside the door. Once you order they get your name and bring your food to you as you wait right outside the second door which took less than 10 min for two entrees (not bad at all) Keep in mind that this is not a cash operated business so have your credit card on deck. We ordered the pulled jerk chicken w/ Mac n cheese, Hennessy mumbo chicken w/ fries, snickerdoodle banana puddin, strawberry cheesecake and a kool-aid that would put yo lil sister to shame. The Jerk was good with a nice spice to it. The Mac n cheese was not from scratch. But they made up for it by melting a layer of real cheese on it. The portions of chicken were huge with plenty of crunch and seasoning. You can get you mumbo sauce on top or the side. I prefer to have it drizzled on mine (pause). The fries with the perfect amount of seasoning and crunch with the henny mumbo- 1 word *SLAPS*. The desserts are extremely rich and sweet. But they are good. I am not a huge fan of the cheesecake texture as it is not the level of thick n creamy that I prefer. But the toppings were on point outside of the marshmallows. I was pleasantly surprised by the small rice Krispy treat on top as well. All and all this was a good meal with leftovers for a little over $50. Y'all keep up the good work. Check them out shawty!!!! Yo boy is not disappointed at all. Would happily return to spend my doughcheese.

Yelp
I usually don't have an issue with food but TODAY the customer service SUCKED!!! First, I'm offended by the cup that says, "if you can read this, leave a tip!!" Really?? 2nd, no cash policy ... 3rd, when I went back in to pick up my food, I walked to the front, yes there was a line when I went back in, the young man TOTALLY ignored me. He was on the phone AND working the line. My questions was, "where do I pick up?" He helped the ladies, NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED ME, (how would it take to say, "there's one line" or something similar, instead you OUTRIGHT ignore me, yet there's a CUP W/a SIGN to tip?? What am I tipping?? Do better and treat ALL CUSTOMERS with s little RESPECT!! Your MENU isn't CHEAP so next time I will go elsewhere, and let me folks know that if you don't care about HOW you're treated, then go to the UNCAGED CHEFS!! I won't be back!! 3 stars is for the food only!

Yelp
I saw a post of what looked like a fried chicken sandwich.. and it turned out to be a fried oyster mushroom sandwich! One day later I was standing in line (socially distanced). They only take cards and there is plexiglass. You order and give your cell number so they can text when the food is ready. You stand on the right side of the building where the staff pokes their heads out and hands off the food. Very efficient. Had to try a second item since I drove all the way out here. Got the crab dip. Toasted pita wedges to dip. It was tasty. I would pour that over pasta. They definitely have their own style here and they're doing it their own way. I will be back to try more of the menu.

Yelp
Super nice little spot! Convenient ordering, quick order time. A abundance of flavorful, HOT, delicious food!

Yelp
Let's begin by saying that some of the foods here are completely overpriced..... The demographics of this area doesn't even warrant the type of prices that this restaurant / carryout charges.  I mean, I dig you got to get your man and your money where you can,  but let's think long-term sustainability. The Hennessy chicken and fries I would say is just okay,  just average, better than some ......some fried pounded boneless chicken thigh with sweet mambo sauce....nothing special, especially if you are from the DMV.  Personally, I would much rather get some chicken wings and some Mambo sauce for a fraction of the price from one of the good carryouts in the area which from my experience tastes better. The crab eggroll is barely okay.  The idea sounds amazing and yummy, but to taste it is to think the chef missed something.  The eggroll is way too heavy and lacks complex flavors and ingredients for the complex price point. Last but not least the crab cake and crab mac n cheese was just okay. It appeared and tasted  like the mac n cheese and crab cake were probably cooked one or two days prior to serving. I don't know anyone that likes old fish or seafood. Also, too much filler not enough fresh crabmeat. This tremendously took away from the taste of the food.  There's nothing like a fresh seafood meal.... Chef you missed the mark....if it were prepared to order and fresh I would give it another chance. You are destroying your business with the use of old mediocre ingredients. The oatmeal creme pie cheesecake was exactly as advertised.  It was pretty good and two people could definitely enjoy the huge slice. If you have a little extra money burning a hole in your pocket, and patronizing a black owned business is at the top of your list, then by all means give them a try....but im sure that you will not return for the high prices or wannabe gourmet street food.
